Welcome my dear soldiers online travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, it is not a secret that the films about war and others are not of my special pleasure, few being those belonging to that genre that manage to get my attention, however, I wanted to see a zombie tape and Chatgpt recommended the movie "Overlord" a mixture between the conflict of the Second World War with zombies, others not to say that the combination sounds very interesting. Without more than add prepare to face some zombified Nazis because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos soldados viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, no es un secreto que los filmes sobre guerra y demás no son de mi especial agrado, siendo pocos los pertenecientes a ese género que logran llamar mi atención, sin embargo, quería ver una cinta de zombies y ChatGPT me recomendó la película "Overlord" una mezcla entre el conflicto de la segunda guerra mundial con zombies, demás está decir que la combinación suena muy interesante. Sin más que agregar prepárense para enfrentarse a unos nazis zombificados pues estamos por comenzar.

Es un filme de terror y acción, la historia toma lugar justo antes de la ejecución del "Día D" sin embargo, una misión de suma importancia es encomendada a un grupo de paracaidistas, la misma consiste en derribar una torre de radio en territorio enemigo para inhabilitar las comunicaciones de los nazis, no obstante, desde el vamos esto se complica de sobremanera debido a que el avión en donde iban es derribado, producto de dicho siniestro quedan pocos sobrevivientes para completar la misión, a su vez, descubren que los nazis se encuentran haciendo experimentos muy perturbadores a la gente del pueblo por lo que tendrán más obstáculos para completar la misión.

The soundtrack is fine within what fits, it is nothing from the other world or has any element that makes it stand out in some way.
La banda sonora está bien dentro de lo que cabe, no es nada del otro mundo ni posee algún elemento que la haga destacar de alguna forma.

With the construction of the world, the same thing happens in the previous section, it has nothing to make it stand out on the rest of the films with which it shares gender, in this sense the tape feels generic and not very innovative, in addition, its attempts to build dark environments that help the terror section are a failure.
Con la construcción de mundo sucede lo mismo que en el apartado anterior, no tiene nada que la haga destacar sobre el resto de filmes con los que comparte género, en este sentido la cinta se siente genérica y poco innovadora, además, sus intentos por construir ambientes tenebrosos que ayuden al apartado del terror son un fracaso.

The plot is a strange amalgam of things, the problem with this is that it is not something that ends up fit very well for what it feels like a nonsense. Narratively there is not much to talk about, it is a tape where most of the time has elements that any war film would have; Low, confrontations and moments where it seems that no one will be saved, the problem with this is that its terrifying factor is worked unfortunately to the point that when it is introduced it feels as forced, the same happens with the zombies section, all this makes the tape not stand out for the other elements that compose it and what always comes to light is the theme of war general, despite his failures he is digestible in general.
La trama es una amalgama extraña de cosas, el problema con esto es que no es algo que termine de encajar muy bien por lo que se siente como un despropósito. Narrativamente no hay mucho de lo que hablar, es una cinta en donde la mayor parte del tiempo tiene elementos que tendría cualquier filme bélico; bajas, enfrentamientos y momentos en donde parece que nadie se salvará, el problema con esto es que su factor terrorífico es trabajado de forma lamentable al punto de que cuando es introducido se siente como algo forzado, lo mismo sucede con el apartado de los zombies, todo esto hace que la cinta no destaque por los otros elementos que la componen y lo que siempre sale a relucir es la temática de guerra y todo lo que eso conlleva, pese a sus fallos es digerible en líneas generales.

The characters are a joke, do not delve into any throughout the film, the most that you have are small flashes that seek to explore the relationship between them although it never occurs in a good way, this lack of deepening in them makes their deaths or sacrifices feel impersonal and inconsequential. The same goes for villains, they are absolutely generic and boring, the perfect stereotype that can be in this type of films.
Los personajes son un chiste, no se ahonda en ninguno a lo largo del filme, lo más que se tiene son pequeños destellos que buscan explorar la relación entre estos aunque nunca se da de buena forma, esta falta de profundización en ellos hace que sus muertes o sacrificios se sientan impersonales e intrascendentes. Lo mismo pasa con los villanos, son absolutamente genéricos y aburridos, el estereotipo perfecto que pueden ser en este tipo de filmes.
Overlord is a regular film by throwing bad, which could make it highlight a bit would be the scenes that contain bloody and grotesque deaths, however, these are not shocking enough to see the film just by the morbid factor, the rest of the elements are completely forgettable. It is for all the above that it deserves 2 stars from 7, in general, it is a quite a meh film, which has nothing grace and that makes a terrible use of its elements, I would recommend it as something curious to see without expecting much of it.
Overlord es una película regular tirando a mala, lo que podría hacerla destacar un poco serían las escenas que contienen muertes sangrientas y grotescas, sin embargo, estás no son lo suficientemente impactantes como para ver el filme solo por el factor morboso, el resto de elementos son completamente olvidables. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, en líneas generales, es un filme bastante meh, que no tiene nada de gracia y que hace un uso terrible de sus elementos, la recomendaría como algo curioso para ver sin esperar mucho de ello.
