   Y no puedo dejar de resaltar y aplaudir la actuación de su protagonista Çağatay Ulusoy, que fue quien le dio más dramatismo a la historia de Mehmet y lo interpreto a la perfección, él te hace sentir cada parte de su dolor emocional y también el psicológico, y Emir Ali Doğrul quien interpreta a Ali le da esa frescura e inocencia que destaca en el personaje. Esta es una producción que ha tenido mucho éxito y ha sido comparada con la película "Milagro en la celda 7" por su parecido en la historia, pero presentada desde un ángulo muy diferente.

   Una producción turca que recomiendo la veas en su idioma original, que tiene nada más una duración de una hora y media que transcurre bien rápido, no es lenta en su desarrollo por lo que sientes que el tiempo pasa volando, que en mi opinión personal es una película que va a mover cada fibra de tu cuerpo, podrías pensar que ya es un tema muy cliché, el hombre que ayuda a un niño de la calle a salir adelante, pero "Vidas de papel" tiene mucho más que contar.

   A Turkish production that I recommend you see it in its original language, which has only a duration of an hour and a half that passes very quickly, it is not slow in its development so you feel that time flies by, which in my personal opinion is a film that will move every fiber of your body, you might think that it is already a very cliché theme, the man who helps a street child to get ahead, but "Paper Lives" has much more to tell.

   El director Can Ulkay y el escritor Ercan Mehmet Erdem nos cuentan en este drama, la importancia que tiene la madre en el crecimiento y la vida de todo niño y como el abandono de un ser tan importante con la mamá puede llegar afectar significativamente el estado emocional y psicológico en el desarrollo de una persona como individuo en la sociedad hasta convertirse en adulto y será algo que transcienda en un futuro llegando afectar su estado mental.

   El abandono de los padres es algo que ocurre en todos los países del mundo, pero en Vidas de papel lo enfocan solo al rol de la madre pues nunca se menciona al padre en esta historia, y es una realidad que se vive diariamente en un país como Turquía, niños abandonados por sus propias madres y quedan a su suerte viviendo en las calles, algo que en lo personal como madre me remueve todo porque yo no imagino el hecho de tan siquiera pensar en que me pase algo y que mi hija quede abandonada y sola por la razón que sea y lo doloroso y traumático que debe ser para cualquier niño verse solo y desprotegido en un mundo tan cruel como este.

   Al inicio pensé que sabría cual sería el final de este drama, pero el director nos sorprende con un final inesperado y que sentí como una bofetada en la cara porque no era nada de lo que yo me imaginaba, un cierre de 15 minutos que te destroza por dentro, y que si no llegas a botar una lagrima estoy segura que por lo menos te dejará un nudo en la garganta y un sabor amargo.

   At the beginning I thought I would know what would be the end of this drama, but the director surprises us with an unexpected ending that felt like a slap in the face because it was nothing like what I imagined, a closing of 15 minutes that shatters you inside, and if you do not get to shed a tear I am sure that at least leave you a lump in the throat and a bitter taste.

   Vidas de papel te deja una gran enseñanza sobre aprender a valorar las cosas que tenemos, porque muchas veces hay personas que no las tienen y las añoran más que otros que si la tienen, o que tal vez tuviste ese algo importante y nunca supiste valorar, es de esas historias que te hacen pensar en esas personas que nunca tienen una buena relación con su madre donde me incluyo, porque a pesar de haber tenido siempre a mi madre nunca nos hemos entendido bien y creo que esta historia me hizo darme cuenta del porque, ya que mi madre también fue una niña que sufrió una clase parecida de abandono a sus 8 años, aunque su madre estaba viva y sabia donde estaba, fueron sus tías quienes decidieron llevársela para darle una mejor vida.

   Paper Lives leaves you a great teaching about learning to value the things we have, because many times there are people who do not have them and miss them more than others who do have them, or maybe you had that important thing and never knew how to value it, it is one of those stories that make you think about those people who never have a good relationship with their mother where I include myself, because despite having always had my mother we never understood each other well and I think this story made me realize why, because my mother was also a girl who suffered a similar kind of abandonment when she was 8 years old, although her mother was alive and knew where she was, it was her aunts who decided to take her to give her a better life.

   Es una historia que recomiendo completamente con un pañuelo en mano, porque se que para los más sensibles será imposible no llorar, además que el sonido musical y las canciones que utilizaron le agregan un poco más de drama y nostalgia a la historia, y a todos nos gusta un final feliz pero definitivamente en esta historia no es lo que encontraremos, solo te digo que el elemento clave es aquella mujer que aparece en el hospital, préstale mucha atención.

   Besides I am a big fan of sci-fi cinema and literature, I really like drama movies, considering them the artistic pinnacle of cinema. In the majority of plays of this genre sensitive fibers move and can leave the viewer with great learning. It should be noted that the film is not clearly dramatic since it has slight thriller influences in the development of the plot, which takes a rather unexpected twist.

   In this film we come across a sick protagonist in charge of a garbage dump, directing some young people who do their work on the streets. The fights for the control of recycling are seen in this work, showing us the harsh reality of the poor areas of Istanbul.

   Aparte de ser un gran fan del cine y literatura de ciencia ficción me gustan mucho las películas del género drama, por considerarlas la cúspide artística dentro del cine. En la mayoría de obras de este género se mueven fibras sensibles pudiendo dejar al espectador con un gran aprendizaje. Cabe acotar que la película no es netamente dramática ya que tiene leves influencias de thriller en el desarrollo de la trama, la cual da un giro bastante inesperado.

   En este film nos topamos con un protagonista enfermo encargado de un depósito de residuos, dirigiendo a unos jóvenes que hacen el trabajo en las calles. Las peleas y las riñas por el control del reciclaje se hacen ver en esta obra, mostrándonos la cruda realidad de las zonas pobres de Estambul.

   

   

   Soon our protagonist meets a little boy in the waste deposit and it is here that the core of the plot begins. The emotional ties that develop between the child and Mehmet (our protagonist) become increasingly close creating a very strong emotional bond which, being honest, seemed very fast and unreal, but everything makes sense when the film takes that unexpected turn that it changes everything.

   
   Pronto nuestro protagonista se encuentra a un niño pequeño en el depósito de residuos y es aquí cuando empieza el núcleo de la trama. Los lazos afectivos que se desarrollan entre el niño y Mehmet (nuestro protagonista) se hacen cada vez más estrechos creando un vínculo emocional muy fuerte del cual siendo sincero me pareció muy rápido e irreal, pero todo cobra sentido cuando la película da ese giro inesperado que lo cambia todo.
   

   

   Çagatay Ulusoy is a young actor, he's only 30 years old, but his career is increasing and with this work he's been recognized by critics. Ulusoy's performance was masterful, he can convey a deep unease in some scenes and sadness in others, but managing to make us feel that suffering and that agony.

   
   Paper Lives is mainly about trauma, the harshness of poor neighborhoods and hatred in the streets. Survival is the day to day for the poor, there are no moments to think about anything else, survival is the goal and when this becomes our only reason to survive it can trigger a change in us as I've said in previous posts.
   

   Çagatay Ulusoy es un actor joven, tan solo contando con 30 años, pero su carrera está despegando y con este trabajo ha sido reconocido por la crítica. La actuación de Ulusoy fue magistral, nos puede transmitir un profundo desasosiego en algunas escenas y tristeza en otras, pero logrando hacernos sentir ese sufrimiento y esa agonía. Y es que Vidas de Papel se trata del trauma, de la crudeza de los barrios pobres y del odio en las calles. La supervivencia es el día a día para el pobre, no hay momentos para pensar en nada mas, sobrevivir es la meta y cuando esta se convierte en nuestro único motivo para sobrevivir puede desencadenar un cambio en nosotros como he dicho en anteriores post.

   

   

   Without leaving a strong spoiler, the plot twist is through a trauma suffered by Mehmet, an unexpected idea and a change in the plot that wasn't liked by many critics, considering it crude or ridiculous. In my opinion, it was a daring and interesting twist, I didn't expect it but certain threads were revealed that indicated that something wasn't right with Mehmet.

   Little by little I have become a fan of Middle East cinema. The cultural gap that we have with them can be wide but it is still something exotic for me, which has provided me with a lot of information about these countries. Of course, Turkey, due to its proximity to Europe, maybe much closer to the West on a cultural level than other Middle Eastern countries, but it's still a country with Muslim culture with Mediterranean influences.

   Sin dejar un fuerte spoiler, el giro argumental es través de un trauma que sufre Mehmet, una idea inesperada y un cambio en la trama que no fue del agrado de muchos críticos, por considerarlo tosco o ridículo. En mi opinión fue un giro atrevido e interesante, no me lo esperaba pero si se dejaban ver ciertos hilos que me indicaban que algo no estaba bien con Mehmet.

   Poco a poco me he convertido en un fan del cine medio oriente. La brecha cultural que tenemos con ellos puede ser amplia pero no deja de ser algo exótico para mí, lo cual me ha proporcionado mucha información sobre estos países. Claro esta que Turquía debido a la proximidad que tiene con Europa puede estar mucho más cerca a Occidente a nivel cultural que otros países de medio oriente pero, no deja de ser un país con cultura musulmana en donde las influencias mediterráneas son muy grandes.

   

   Plays like Capernaum, A separation, and About Elly have taught me that there is a tremendous quality cinema in these places. Iran, Lebanon, and Turkey are an example of this, every time I find out about new great productions to the point that Netflix is ​​giving support to the production of these works in these places, like this film.

   Obras como Capernaum, Nadir y Simin, una separación y A propósito de Elly me han enseñado que hay un cine de tremenda calidad por estos lugares. The growth process is a delicate issue, children must be loved and corrected, there should never be any type of violence in a family nucleus, but there should be love and high values. In the childhood stage, the kid must feel protected, taught, and loved, these three characteristics are essential to have adulthood away from the mental burden, from the torture that our past can present when they are absent. Paper Lives manages to show us in a raw way what could happen when these affective ties are absent.

   La idea de estos directores no es solo producir películas tristes, sino dejar un mensaje. El trauma que puede vivir un niño puede tener nefastas consecuencias al momento de ser un adulto. “Somos lo que otros hacen de nosotros” y muchos padres pueden ahogar la personalidad de un niño promoviendo enfermedades mentales como paranoia, esquizofrenia, trastorno bipolar y un largo etc. El proceso de crecimiento es un tema delicado, los niños deben ser amados y corregidos jamás debería existir ningún tipo de violencia en un núcleo familiar, pero si amor y altos valores. En la etapa de niñez el niño debe sentirse protegido, enseñado y amado, estas tres características son fundamentales para tener una adultez alejada del agobio mental, de la tortura que puede presentar nuestro pasado cuando estos son ausentes. Vidas de papel logra mostrarnos de una manera cruda que podría pasar cuando estos lazos afectivos son ausentes.

   Acabo de terminar de ver esta película, y no podía esperar un minuto más para sentarme en mi computador y hablar sobre lo maravillosa que es esta trama. Es increíble como este tipo de películas te puede hacer sentir todas las escenas, la tensión, el amor, el misterio pero sobre todo el dolor.

   I just finished watching this movie, and I couldn't wait another minute to sit down at my computer and talk about how wonderful this plot is. It's amazing how this kind of movie can make you feel all the scenes, the tension, the love, the mystery but most of all the pain.

   Vidas de papel, está reciente en Netflix, y en mi país ha formado parte del top 10, eso es algo que me ha llamado mucho la atención, estas últimas noches que me he acostado en mi cama a ver alguna serie. Cuando algo me llama la atención, inmediatamente lo pongo en mi lista y hoy por fin he podido disfrutar y compartir el dolor de esta grandiosa película.

   Vidas de Papel, is recently on Netflix, and in my country, it has been part of the top 10, that is something that has caught my attention, these last nights that I have laid in my bed to watch a series. When something catches my attention, I immediately put it on my list and today I have finally been able to enjoy and share the pain of this great movie.

   Las palabras introductorias a esta película es una pieza clave y fundamental de lo que vemos en el desarrollo de la misma, y son un par de frases muy profundas que te atrapan, así que es una excelente forma de enganchar al público, le doy el mérito en esa parte.

   Y más que todo porque es un tema muy relevante en nuestras vidas. Los niños de la calle es una cruda realidad, suponiendo que cada uno de ellos deberían tener un techo y alguien que se haga responsable de ellos, pues no eligieron nacer.

   Dejando a un lado lo vulgar del lenguaje en esta película, hay escenas muy fuertes. Empezando por la realidad que viven las personas en espera de un órgano, que en este caso es un riñón. Y la verdad es que es un punto crítico de la película, puesto que muestran los efectos colaterales de no atender a tiempo la salud. En ese sentido estuve un poco estresado, le daba por muerto muchas veces.

And the truth is that it is a critical point of the film since it shows the collateral effects of not attending to health in time. In that sense I was a little stressed, I thought he was dead many times.

   Inmediatamente que vemos en que trabajan, diremos que de eso es que viene el título de la película, pues les daría la razón porque yo pensé lo mismo, sin embargo en el transcurso de la misma nos damos cuenta que es un contraste de muchas cosas, en mi caso pensé que era una forma de decir que la vida es frágil como un papel, pero que también es poderosa porque un papel puede ser filoso para un dedo.

   También llegue a razonar que la vida de los niños, su inocencia es algo muy frágil y valioso, así como el valor que tiene la cantidad de material reciclable que venden en sus negocios, pues de eso vivían, y de cierto modo son felices. Una inocencia y felicidad a la vez que son muy frágiles en muchos aspectos de la vida. Es decir, creo que el título es excelente, porque puedes manejarlos en diferentes perspectivas, aunque al inicio te dan la razón por la cual ellos escogen ese título.

   I also came to reason that the life of children, their innocence is something very fragile and valuable, as well as the value of the amount of recyclable material they sell in their businesses, because that is what they lived on, and in a way they are happy. Innocence and happiness at the same time are very fragile in many aspects of life. I mean, I think the title is excellent because you can handle them from different perspectives, although at the beginning they give you the reason why they choose that title.

   

   Lo que más me ha gustado de esta película es el aspecto humano frágil y de protección, es decir, es increíble todo lo que hace este hombre, y la forma en que lo hace dado su situación por este niño. Es como si él se viera en el espejo de su fragilidad y la forma en que la vida ha abusado de su inocencia.

   What I liked most about this film is the fragile and protective human aspect, I mean, it's amazing everything this man does, and the way he does it given his situation for this child. It's as if he sees himself in the mirror of his fragility and the way life has abused his innocence.

   Es allí cuando pensamos en la frase " a mi yo de niño le diría queue..."

   That's when we think of the phrase " to my child self I would say that..."

   Es lo más emotivo de la historia, ver que alguien hacer por alguien, lo que de antes tal vez nosotros necesitábamos o anhelábamos, acciones que hacen felices a las personas y que ayudan a sanar sus heridas.

   It is the most touching part of the story, to see someone do for someone else what perhaps we needed or longed for before, actions that make people happy and help heal their wounds.

   Y si hablamos de sanar heridas, es lo ultimo en que haré énfasis en esta reseña, porque ese encuentro hace que la vida pasada recobre vida, y tenga que enfrentarse a un fuerte recuerdo, momentos tristes, y de sufrimiento físico, pero es algo que no escapa de la realidad fuera de lo que se ve en esta película.

   And if we talk about healing wounds, it is the last thing I will emphasize in this review, because this encounter makes the past life come alive, and has to face a strong memory, sad moments, and physical suffering, but it is something that does not escape the reality outside of what is seen in this film.

   Ese final es imprevisto, sin embargo, fue perfecto. Siempre he evitado ver tramas de este estilo donde hay violencia infantil de por medio y escenas desgarradoras con niños. Pero esta película vale la pena, no me arrepiento de haber sentido ese dolor y angustia, porque me hace ser empático con un tema social que forma parte de nuestras vidas.

   That ending is unforeseen, however, it was perfect. I have always avoided watching plots of this style where there is child violence involved and heartbreaking scenes with children. But this movie is worth it, I don't regret feeling that pain and anguish, because it makes me empathize with a social issue that is part of our lives.
