I somehow got the impression when I started watching this that it was based on a true story and because of that, I initially gave the production a lot more credibility than it actually ended up deserving. *Roman J. Israel Esq.* is the latest film from writer/director Dan Gilroy. Gilroy's dual role debut was his film *Nightcrawler* which was one of the best films I saw in 2014.
