When I watched Singham Again I initially thought I’d be watching a fairly standard crime and action movie but the story turned out to be much bigger than that The film blends family, courage revenge friendship and a mission to rescue a kidnapped person The story is also heavily inspired by certain elements of the Ramayana, drawing a parallel between Singham and his team and the story of Rama and Sita.
THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY – SINGHAM AND AVNI
The story introduces us to Bajirao Singham, who is now a married man and a father He is married to Avni, and the two have a son named Shaurya. Singham is a police officer who never shirks his responsibilities but he is now trying to find a balance between his work and his family life. Singham is transferred to Kashmir, where he takes command of a special police unit. During his time there he arrests a dangerous man named Omar Hafeez. But Omar warns Singham that his arrest doesn’t mean the fight is over He makes it clear that someone else will come to take revenge on Singham and his men Singham keeps these words in mind not knowing when this new threat will emerge.
SHIVA SQUAD
Singham is then appointed head of the Shiva Squad a team created to combat dangerous criminal networks across the country. Over time the team arrests several people involved in illegal activities and discovers that they are working for a mysterious man known as Danger Lanka. Everyone fears him but no one really knows his identity. Shakti Shetty, a courageous policewoman, also takes part in this operation. She arrests several men belonging to Danger Lanka’s network But Lanka suddenly attacks the police station and frees his men Shakti is deeply disappointed by what has happened but Singham encourages her to continue pursuing Lanka.
AVNI AND HER RAMAYANA PROJECT
Meanwhile Avni is preparing a theatrical performance based on the Ramayana She travels to Rameshwaram to gather images and information needed for her project Singham asks Daya to accompany her to ensure her safety But Avni is unaware that this trip is already part of a plan devised by her enemies Shortly afterward Danger Lanka kidnaps Avni What’s most troubling is that this kidnapping wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment event. It turns out that Mrigya, someone who used to work with Avni, is also involved in the plan When Singham learns that his wife has been kidnapped he immediately sets out to find her
DAYA TRIES TO RESCUE AVNI
Daya follows Avni’s trail and eventually finds her He helps her escape from Lanka’s men but they give chase During her escape Avni drops the bracelets Singham had given her to leave a clue that would help Singham figure out where she went Daya tries to protect Avni, but he is seriously injured during the confrontation Avni then receives help from another police officer ACP Satya Bali Satya considers Singham a true hero and someone who inspires him So he decides to protect Avni.
SATYA – THE NEW POLICE OFFICER
Satya takes Avni to his home where his family lives Singham tracks down Avni and discovers that she is with Satya. But before the situation can calm down Danger Lanka reappears He attacks the place where Avni is being sheltered During the confrontation Avni is injured and Lanka manages to take her away once again. When Singham arrives he helps Satya and his family but Avni is once again in the enemy’s hands
DANGER LANKA’S SECRET
It is at this moment that Danger Lanka finally reveals his true identity We discover that his name is Zubair Hafeez and that he is the grandson of Omar Hafeez Zubair wants revenge on Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi because he believes they are responsible for the destruction of his family We also discover that Mrigya is not who she claims to be. Her real name is Iqra Hafeez and she is related to Zubair’s family Both of them have spent a long time in India under false identities secretly watching Singham and Avni. Now, Zubair is holding Avni captive and tells Singham that if he wants his wife back, he must bring him Omar Hafeez Simmba, and Sooryavanshi.
SIMMBA SETS OUT ON A MISSION
Singham first wants to know if Avni is still safe He contacts Simmba and sends him to Sri Lanka so he can find Avni. Simmba arrives at the place where Avni is being held and lets her know that Singham is coming to rescue her But Zubair tries to set a trap for Simmba. Simmba manages to escape and continues to participate in the plan to rescue Avni despite everything
SINGHAM HEADS TO SRI LANKA
Singham doesn’t wait any longer He secretly travels to Sri Lanka with the help of members of the security services and eventually finds Simmba. The two begin searching for the location where Avni is being held Meanwhile the situation grows increasingly dangerous as Zubair wants to force Singham to hand over Omar. Eventually the rescue mission turns into a massive operation involving Singham, Simmba, Shakti, Satya, and Sooryavanshi.
SOORYAVANSHI MAKES HIS DEBUT
Just as the battle reaches its climax, Sooryavanshi joins the team The entire team then pools their strength to rescue Avni from Zubair’s clutches This is what makes the film particularly entertaining: each character has a different role but they all share the same goal:
To save Avni.
THE END – SINGHAM VS ZUBAIR
Finally Singham faces off directly against Zubair. Zubair is driven by revenge but Singham shows that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect his wife and put an end to the threat Meanwhile the team of police officers takes on Zubair’s men and ultimately thwarts his plan Singham finally gets the upper hand over Zubair and brings Avni back safe and sound Meanwhile
Omar Hafeez is brought back to India.
Avni finally completes her project based on the Ramayana, and the theatrical production becomes a hit
MY THOUGHTS
Personally I thought Singham Again was a fantastic action movie especially when Singham, Simmba, Sooryavanshi, Shakti, and Satya come together
What I particularly enjoyed was the way the film weaves the Ramayana into its story. Avni is cast in the role of Sita while Singham becomes the one fighting to save his wife. His friends and allies also play a vital role in this mission.
Even though the film is packed with action, what really drew me in was Singham’s family, his relationship with Avni, and the way the whole team sticks together when challenges arise.
When all the team members finally come together to save Avni, I felt like the film brought its story to a perfect conclusion
