  1. Spectral || Dangerous experiments for the future of humanity@cute-cactus1379d

Don't be afraid of the visible, be afraid of the invisible; I watched a science fiction film that reminded me of the saying. The film is a 2016 Netflix production and the title is Spectral

First of all, let me say that I liked the film very much and I wanted to write my thoughts while I was still under its influence. Faced with the threat of civil war, American soldiers in Moldova are killed by an unknown force. The Pentagon sends a unit to the scene to investigate the unexplained events and the adventure begins with the main plot of the film Spectral.

One of the reasons why I love the film so much is that the troops first make the invisible enemies visible with advanced cameras and then try to destroy them by finding their weak points. At some point, I started to see inspirations from the MacGyver series, one of the unforgettable series of the 80s.

The scene in which they managed to see the invisible beings by reversing the lenses of the cameras, obtaining a projector by changing the location of a few connections, and their battles with the beings they could now see were definitely worth watching.

The film not only contains action, suspense and sci-fi genres, but also reflects them well during the viewing. It was nice to watch a successful Netflix production again because the last one I watched was disappointing.

Although it was a coincidence that I watched the Spectral film, which I found successful, on the weekend, I can say that it was good for making my weekend fun. We don't know how many military experiments, secret projects or weapons are being invented in the world, but we know that each of them is a threat to mass death. One day, experiments may get out of control, unintended results may be obtained, and an irreversible path may be taken. The film Spectral seems to be one of the productions that can answer all these questions.

Thanks to the passing time, the future is coming fast and we, as humans, seem to be satisfied with the rapid development of technology. But we should not forget that every technological product adds value to us and destroys more than one of our values.

Even though I don't want to be a catastrophist, films like Spectral always make me think about this kind of world or human apocalypse. I am not a conservative or conservative person, but I wonder what kind of world and human life will be like in the future.

The biggest of these curiosities are those related to artificial intelligence. Like the human weapons obtained by condensation in the film Spectral; artificial intelligence may one day turn into weapons. Actually, don't listen to what I'm saying and if you haven't seen the film, I strongly recommend you to watch it, so you will have a few sentences of your own to say. You can think like me or disagree, we will be waiting for us in the comments section where we can talk about our ideas. If you watch it, I want you to know that I'm interested in your thoughts.

  2. Spectral, ¿fantasmas 👻 o armas🔫? (alerta Spoiler) / Spectral, were they ghosts 👻 or weapons🔫? (Spoiler alert) (ESP/ENG)@actioncats1839d

    Bienvenidos a mi blog.png

    20200804_153359_0000.png

Because I spend hours in our beloved blockchain I have detached a bit of TV, but these days reflecting I said to myself that I must seek a balance so I see something to distract me and I have material to create publications related to movies and TV series, I have already mentioned that a few months ago I have a Netflix account and although we usually watch series, we have also seen movies and these days while choosing something new to watch I found one that we saw and called my attention and I will dedicate this publication to it is Spectral.

    Welcome to my Blog.png

This film begins with a soldier who is in an uninhabited area due to war conflicts, this soldier is communicating by radio, to give details of its location, because it is separated from the team which is part and is asking for support and extraction of the place, they ask him not to move from the place where he is, But he does not obey and when exploring the site he finds what looks like an alley under an elevated or viaduct and sees a kind of shadow which suddenly rises and after a few seconds pounces on him and kills him, all this scene and other similar ones are recorded thanks to special lenses that have been created for soldiers.

For this reason, they decide to call the creator of this technology Dr. Mark Clyne. Mark Clyne with the purpose of deciphering what is attacking them, so Clyme is taken to Moldova place where the events are occurring, and after showing him several videos they ask for his opinion, being very precarious shots he requests a better take and after a chat with a CIA agent who is also in place, Fran Madison and General Orland, it is decided that both the scientist and the CIA agent will accompany them to the rescue of a team with which they have lost contact, and thus achieve a shot of these entities or soldiers with tactical camouflage equipment, there they find a survivor and at the same time they encounter something that seems to be an entity or man and attacks the team killing many of them.

When it becomes evident that they can not cope with their team to what attacks them they decide to retreat but they are left without vehicles due to mines and must take refuge in a factory where they find two children who tell them stories of the Aratars, which are for the inhabitants of Moldovia, beings that arise before the misfortunes of war, while they are in the place, Clyne manages through his wit and knowledge, reverse the camera to thus be able to see the enemy, At the same time they discover that the iron shavings stop them because of a wall made by the children's father with the purpose of keeping the aratars away so they can not enter the place, so they arm themselves with homemade bombs made with this material, of which there are plenty in this abandoned factory to reach the evacuation site safely repelling these beings and inform the high command of how to get mink from the enemy.

This is only a part of this film that is quite entertaining and exciting, it is one of those that makes you trot sitting down, because you want to know like the characters what is attacking them, if it is something natural or not, if it was created or is paranormal or tormented ghosts; at the same time as it is of supposing it is not lacking the typical of the movies where it is spoken of regimes, lack of ethics, undercover work, money in quantity invested in weapons or experimentation, but what refers to the themes of movies and series lately I have seen a lot the creation of weapons using already known things, adding new or improving what is already known by new discoveries, creating viruses intentionally or by accident, genetic modifications, is something that makes you think about the actions of which man is capable, often believing that he is doing good or seeking to do good and ends up using his knowledge as a weapon.

In the end these entities were something between alive and dead, they were created from human beings of which they only kept certain parts and after being scanned at the molecular level they were printed using something called Bose-Einstein Condensate, and after a failure, maybe structural, by a bomb or something else, it got out of their control and escaped, becoming not only a threat to that country, but also to the whole world.

On the other hand, a part of the film, which attracts my attention is when Clyne sees what is left of the humans and decides to pay them to rest and Fran tells him not to do it, that they were there to see, to study and, as a scientist with ethics, he tells her that he has seen enough and that it was enough, she not very convinced at the beginning stays behind, but then she helps him to disconnect what is left of these human beings, so they can rest, sadly those who arrive later decide to take all the information to patent it and use it, an evident sample that the human being, does not learn from his mistakes and foolishly believes https: //moviefreakspr. blogspot.com/2016/12/review-spectral.html?m=0that what happened to others will not be repeated with them, because they are more careful superiors or what do I know. Forgetting that things can go wrong in the blink of an eye and that the best hunter misses the hare.

    Thank you for reading.png

Finally, this movie will keep you glued to the TV, I recommend it and if you are a lover of action movies and science fiction, you will surely like this one and it will fulfill its purpose which is to entertain, now I say goodbye with these words if you liked my publication, with all and spoiler leave me your opinion in the comments box.

  3. Spectral (film): Good premise + big budget + good acting = crap film... how?@gooddream2462d

When i heard there was a sci-fi / war film with a budget of $70 million dollars and had extremely realistic CGI i was really excited to see this movie. It started out strong, had great direction and what appeared to be quite solid actors even from the start - aaaaaaannnd it all fell apart in the first 20 minutes or so.

    Spectral2016.jpg source

The USA military is involved in a war in Moldova (yes, that's a real place) and we begin the film with a soldier that is disobeying orders as he can not wait for backup and goes after an objective on his own - we are not told what the objective is but as it turns out it is not important because when he arrives at the location the enemy are all dead. Because it is dark he is using some sort of night vision tech and through the lenses he sees some sort of anomaly.

    spec-2.jpg source

For us in the audience, this is obviously a ghost, but then again, we saw the movie poster and preview and are already aware of the overall premise. The soldier doesn't know what to do and being a soldier and all, shoots bullets at it. This obviously has no effect and when the ghost charges him it makes impact and kills him instantly.

It's all still quite creepy and interesting at this point but after about a quarter of an hour or so, the entire military is made aware of the fact that this is not a traditional enemy and that bullets and what not don't do anything to the enemy.

So what is the logical next step in your opinion? Go back in with more soldiers armed in exactly the same capacity to take out these ghosts even though it has been well-established to not just us the viewers, but the people in the film that this tactic definitely will not work... but that is precisely what they do.

AAAABbtaNe-4csXjGtAFeA1R5meELIBwieuWXis210fWsKGZjnZfZiT20G7iDWh4Zr5B7xwV0VBdqW8cvCHql_SahknYRSyjJgUi.jpg source maybe bring a tank... because little tiny bullets didn't work, how about really big bullets?

This goes on an on, always ending in the same result with the military getting insta-killed by ghost enemies that bullets and explosions have absolutely no effect on. This doesn't stop them from continuing to fire bullets for the next hour or so in vain as they watch everyone get ghost killed all around them.

It isn't until a professor comes along with some new technology that can help them actually be able to do some harm to this enemy that the strategy changes at all - so of course the commanders and the soldiers think this guy is an idiot and getting in the way because he doesn't know what he is talking about. Obviously if you just shoot more bullets at the ghosts, that'll get em.

It's just so frustrating to watch even though the CGI is absolutely fantastic. It is so beyond the realm of what any sane or rational person would do in this scenario that it is quite infuriating to watch.

    trailer the official [Netflix channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmC3ZhIHHi4)

If that trailer doesn't get under you skin enough I can assure you the actual film will. I sometimes enjoy big-budget films with nonsensical violence but when the highly-trained people depicted in the film don't have the same sort of reactionary capabilities that a 6-year old would, I can only roll my eyes so much before I gotta question who greenlighted this script.

It should come as no surprise that this movie never went to theaters and was released straight-to-Netflix. I don't think this is as bad as "straight to DVD" because there are many great Netflix originals. We will never know how much money this movie lost since Netflix is very secretive about their internal financials, but i would be willing to bet that it is a lot.

I would suggest that you watch about a half hour of this movie only to confirm that I am not making this gripe up, but I believe you will agree really quickly that it simply becomes too unfathomably dumb from that point forward.

  4. Spectral by Netflix Review: Wasted potential@namiks3131d

    IMG_0754.JPG

There is very little wrong with Netflix's Spectral. It's a film that references and expands upon a few existing tropes within the science-fiction genre, however, it unfortunately doesn't really take them anywhere, and feels rather keen on reaching its abrupt conclusion.

The film is mostly build-up for what appears to be some strange ghostly beings that are unseen to the naked eye. The ghostly figures have the ability to kill immediately on contact, providing the difficult task of our protagonists to try not to die in the process of escaping and eventually defeating them.

Unfortunately, the interesting plot of these fantasy-like ghosts is met with the not-so-entertaining realism behind their existence: they are simply manufactured. A man-made weapon that is set on destroying all in its path. With the newfound information, which appears rather abruptly itself, the soldiers miraculously have the intelligence and means of weaponry to finally challenge them successfully; this makes the strange ghost-like figures completely lose everything that made them threatening, especially due to how fast these chain of events occur.

With its story so desperate to unravel and disappear with its profits, Spectral is mostly forgettable, with its most interesting parts of taking place within the last few minutes of the film, all while a plethora of interesting science-fiction weapons and costumes appear and make you interested in what it could have been. Sadly, Spectral mostly feels like a short film, stretched out into at least an hour and thirty minutes for no real reason. Its potential sits in the mind of the viewer, who will most likely finish the film and say: 'That could have been a decently television show. Why isn't it one instead?'

In short, like the film, Spectral is worth watching, but only for its all-out creativeness in weaponry and costume design towards the end.
