I've seen a lot of Keanu movies. From his best to his worst. Did I just say the worst? No, I don't believe Keanu has a bad movie. I mean his catalog of movies can prove that he doesn't. When it comes to movies Keanu Reeves is gold. And I dare not miss any of his movies. So picking one actually as my best was so hard but after much ado i choose "Speed" In this week's contest which you can find here.

Here's Why… One movie that brilliantly displayed Keanu Reeves' exceptional acting skills and his unwavering commitment to his art was Speed. Even now, the 1994 film Speed, which was directed by Jan de Bont, is still regarded as a classic. An action thriller that has you on the edge of your seat from the opening until the very end.

About the movie Reeves plays Jack Traven, a brave LAPD officer, in this all-time classic. Traven was tasked with stopping a city bus rigged or planted with explosives.

In the opening scenes of the movie, a psychopath bomber named Howard Payne, played by actor Dennis Hopper, rigged an elevator with explosives that automatically sets the tone for the rest of the film. Payne now demands a ransom from the building's owner, who in turn seeks the assistance of Jack Traven and his partner, Harry Temple, played by Jeff Daniels, to defuse the bomb and rescue the hostages. Jack and his partner were successful in rescuing the hostages, but his partner Harry was killed in the process.

From then on, the film became a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, with Jack taking on a new emergency partner in Annie Porter, in the midst of another case involving a bomb planted on a city bus by the same psychopath, Howard Payne. Annie Porter was played by Sandra Bullock, together with Keanu they had to keep the bus moving at all times to keep the bomb from exploding. About the actors.. As the character Jack Traven, Keanu Reeves was a beast with his delivery. He portrayed a man who is deeply committed to his job and is determined to save civilian lives under any circumstances, even if it means putting his own life in danger. Which was shown in the film. His cool demeanor under duress and unwavering sense of purpose makes him the ideal hero of the movie.

Sandra Bullock, who played Annie Porter, also performed admirably. She was a bus passenger who became dragged into the drama and became what I like to refer to as Keanu's emergency partner. She rose to the occasion admirably strong and pulled it off with ease. Her chemistry with Reeves was also lovely to watch. I enjoyed their banter and interactions because it gives the impression that they are in command of the ugly situation.

And the villian Dennis Hopper is one calculating and intelligent badass adversary. He is always one step ahead of Jack and Annie. He's menacing attitude is at levels, it doesn't get over the top, his smirky laugh. In fact his performance as the villian adds an extra layer of tension to the already tense situation. Source

Some of my favorite things about the movie.. The pace of the movie Speed is one of the things that makes it my favorite Keanu film. The excitement and suspense in the film never stop; in every scene they are always being brought to you. There is always top action, something to keep the viewer interested and adrenaline pumping, something intense, in every particular scene. Like in the gunfight on the bus and the risky jump across a highway gap. There is always a new task for Jack and Annie to tackle just when you believe you have overcome the last one.

One of my best action sequences was the bus jump. An absolute standout moment. A classic in its own right I must say and the freeway chase is equally fulfilling and thrilling as an action lover. It's hard to tell if there were special effects, although they had dangerous scenes that required that. But I think Keanu does his own stunts.

Speed is a must-see for fans of the action/ thriller genre. Just then will you realize why I still consider it a classic to this present day.

I chose this tape because he is accompanied by one of my favorite actresses Sandra Bullock and an acting legend like Dennis Hopper, it was released in 1994, when Keanu and Sandra were not so well known, thanks to this tape that was one of the Biggest blockbusters catapulted the career of both actors in the cinema.

Escogí esta cinta porque está acompañado de una de mis actrices preferidas Sandra Bullock y una leyenda de la actuación como Dennis Hopper, se estrenó en 1994, cuando Keanu como Sandra no eran tan conocidos, gracias a esta cinta que fue en su tiempo uno de los mayores éxitos de taquilla catapulto la carrera de ambos actores en el cine.

I believe without a doubt that all the fans of this film are waiting for a second part to see them together again and it took many years for them to come together again in a movie, but it was not a sequel to "Speed", it was a romantic movie " The Lake House”. One of the things that I liked about "Speed" is the chemistry that both Keanu and Sandra showed on screen, even though it was not a romantic movie at all, but an action one, the dialogues and their interactions that they showed, you felt that chemistry. that we had to see that long-awaited kiss in their characters, despite the fact that one of the lines of their dialogues on the tape said (paraphrasing): "Relationships in dangerous situations are ephemeral."

Creo sin dudarlo que todos los fans de esta cinta, esperamos una segunda parte para volver a verlos juntos y pasaron muchos años para que ellos se volvieran a unir en una película, pero no fue una secuela de “Speed”, fue una película romántica “The Lake House”. Una de las cosas que me gustaron de “Speed”, es la química que tanto Keanu y Sandra, mostraban en pantalla, aunque no fuera para nada una película romántica, sino de acción, los diálogos y sus interacciones que mostraban, se sentía esa química que nos tenía pendiente ver en sus personajes ese ansiado beso, a pesar de que una de las líneas de sus diálogos en la cinta decía (parafraseando): “Las relaciones en situaciones de peligro, son efímeras”.

The film has memorable scenes and I'm not talking about the action, which are many and very good, but scenes that sometimes escape us because we are amazed by the special effects, one of them is when Dennis Hopper (Howard) gives his plot why his retirement is unfair, that he only received a watch, after so many years of service, a criticism of the system that after dedicating and risking his life for the good of others does not have a decent retirement. The rhythm of the tape is constant and you don't stop being tense, for me it's one of the things that make this tape masterful, you can't stop watching it so you don't miss a moment.

La cinta tiene escenas memorables y no hablo de la de acción que son muchas y muy buenas, sino de escenas que a veces se nos escapan por estar maravillados por los efectos especiales, una de ellas es cuando Dennis Hopper (Howard), da su argumento de porque es injusta su jubilación, que solo recibiera un reloj, luego de tantos años de servicios, una crítica al sistema que luego de dedicar y arriesgar su vida por el bien de los demás no tenga un retiro digno. El ritmo de la cinta es constante y no dejas de estar en tensión, para mí es una de las cosas que hacen de esta cinta magistral, no puedes parar de verla para no perderte un momento.

Other things that I love is that at the end it highlights situations of extreme danger, as before, strong bonds are created between people who live and go through the same events, stop being strangers and become a bit like your family. Just like that psychological part of the movie, when everyone on the bus thinks they are going to die and one of the passengers jumps to try to escape and dies. That moment is crucial, because each one feels the sadness, but also the joy of not being that person, a bit of the survivor's guilt. Glad to be alive and not being you, but sad for that person who shared that stressful situation with you.

Otras de las cosas que me encantan es que resalta al final como antes situaciones de peligro extrema se crean vínculos fuertes entre las personas que viven y pasan por los mismos acontecimientos, dejan de ser desconocidos y se convierten en un poco tu familia. Así como esa parte psicológica de la película, cuando en el bus todos piensan que van a morir y uno de los pasajeros se lanza para intentar escapar y muere. Ese momento es crucial, porque cada uno siente la tristeza, pero también la alegría de no ser esa persona, un poco la culpa del sobreviviente. Alegrarte de estar vivo y no ser tú, pero triste por esa persona que compartió contigo esa estresante situación.

Without a doubt, this Keanu movie is one of my favorites and one that I always watch when I can, in addition to its famous sequels to The Matrix and John Wick, it is timeless in its history and no matter how many years pass, it is always worth it. sorry to see again.

Hello cine and TV lovers!

It was hard to decide on my favorite Sandra Bullock movie, I like several of her movies, I could make a top 5 and still wouldn't decide on my favorite 5 🙃

But after checking a list of all of Sandy's filmography I realized that there are 2 of her movies that I always watch from start to finish whenever they show up on tv and I never get tired of them, and reducing my list to 2 it was easier to pick my absolute favorite.

Fue difícil decidirme sobre mi película favorita de Sandra Bullock, me gustan muchas de sus películas, podría hacer un top 5 y aun así no decidirme de mis 5 preferidas 🙃

Pero después de revisar la lista de toda la filmografía de Sandy me di cuenta que hay 2 de sus películas que siempre veo de principio a fin cada que salen en tv y nunca me canso de ellas.

Speed

This 1994 film has been a favorite of mine since the first time I watched it that year, and that's the first time I saw Sandra Bullock acting.

The movie is about Howard Payne, played by Dennis Hopper, a resentful retired cop who became a bomber, he wanted a huge amount of money and in order to get it he planted bombs in a building's elevator, his plan was frustrated by officer Jack Traven played by Keanu Reeves.

Angry about his plan being frustrated, Howard plans another attack, this time placing a bomb on a bus, and to his own amusement, he tells Jack about it, that way a chase against time starts.

Howard sees it as a game with a simple rule, if the bus goes below 50 miles per hour the bomb will explode.

Este filme de 1994 ha sido de mis favoritos desde la primera vez que la vi en ese año, y fue la primera vez que vi a Sandra Bullock actuar.

La película trata de Howard Payne, interpretado por Dennis Hopper, un policía retirado y resentido convertido en bombardero, el quería una gran suma de dinero y para conseguirlo puso bombas en el elevador de un edificio, su plan fue frustrado por el oficial Jack Traven, interpretado por Keanu Reeves.

Molesto por su plan frustrado, Howard planea otro ataque, ahora colocando una bomba en un autobús, y para su entretenimiento, le informa a Jack, así comienza una carrera contra el tiempo.

Jack manages to get into the moving bus in full Hollywood action movie mode by jumping from another car, once inside he wants to warn the passengers but one of them think that the officer is after him because of a robbery, the thief takes out a gun and wants to take over the bus and in the middle of the confusion the bus driver gets hurt by a bullet.

One of the passengers, Annie, played by Bullock, takes control of the wheel, she wants to stop the bus in order to help the driver, that's when Jack warns her and the rest of the passengers that the bus will explode if it slows down.

Annie drives high speed through the city trying not to hurt anybody with the big bus while Jack and his team work out a way to disarm the bomb, when they don't succeed with it they come up with another plan. In the meantime, FBI identifies Howard and procede to go arrest him, but he's smart, he set up a trap at his home so when a special team broke into his place it all blew up.
FBI then finds the frequency of the video from a camera inside the bus, same video Howard was watching to keep an eye on Jack and the passengers, officers tape a piece of the video to play it on loop to fool Howard, with this trick FBI has the chance to move passengers from the bus to another moving transport to save them.

Jack and Annie are the last ones to leave the bus which Annie had been driving through the airport lanes in order to stay away from the crowded city, when Howard realizes that he's been tricked it's too late, his plan failed and everyone is safe.

Annie conduce a alta velocidad por la ciudad tratando de no herir a nadie con el gran autobús mientras Jack y su equipo idean una manera de desarmar la bomba, cuando no tienen éxito en ello buscan otro plan. Mientras tanto, el FBI identifica a Howard y proceden a ir a arrestarlo, pero él es inteligente, pone una trampa en su hogar, así que cuando el equipo especial irrumpe todo estalla. In a revenge attempt against Jack, Howard tricks everyone wearing his old police officer uniform to get close to Annie, he kidnaps her and going with his obsession with bombs, he places explosives around Annie herself and gives an ultimatum to Jack, he wants to run away free with huge amounts money or else he'll kill Annie.

Jack being the hero he is goes after Howard and Annie who are inside a subway train, Jack manages to kill Howard but can't get Annie free because previously Howard handcuffed her to a train's bar and not only that, he shot the subway controls and the brakes broke.

Instead of jumping off from the subway, Jack decides to speed up the train in order to derail it. Subway gets wrecked but Jack and Annie are both safe and share their first kiss after their adventurous day.

En un intento de venganza contra Jack, Howard engaña a todos portando su viejo uniforme de policía para acercarse a Annie, la secuestra y yendo con su obsesión con bombas, coloca explosivos en Annie y le da un ultimatum a Jack, quiere huir libre y con grandes cantidades de dinero o de lo contrario matará a Annie.

Jack, siendo el héroe que es va tras Howard y Annie quienes están dentro de un tren subterráneo, Jack se las arregla para matar a Howard pero no puede liberar a Annie ya que previamente Howard la esposó a una barra del tren y no solo eso, también disparó a los controles del tren y los frenos se rompieron.

En lugar de saltar del subterráneo, Jack decide acelerar para descarrilar al tren. El tren subterráneo queda deshecho pero Jack y Annie están a salvo y comparten su primer beso luego de su día aventurado.

Why is this my favorite Sandra Bullock movie?

Well first of all, I had a crush with Keanu Reeves back then, I watched him first in Bill & Ted and I liked the guy, I was around 10 or 11 years old when I watched this movie during an English class... and it wasn't even my class 😅.

When I studied English as a child, my mom took classes too, we, along with my brother were all in the same language school although in different levels and groups. One day, my mom was still in her classroom even though the class was over, I headed there instead of waiting for her in the hallway and her teacher was playing the movie, she invited me in.

At first I wasn't interested in the movie but then I thought "hey, that's Ted! from the movie I like!" and it got my interest, but not only Keanu got me hooked, the plot was very exciting, I understood why nobody in class wanted to leave, they wanted to keep watching the movie until the end.

Also, this movie is special because it made me realize that I was able to understand English, not a hundred percent yet, but I had the impression that me being a child that had been studying beginners English for some months, didn't know much of the language, I didn't think I was capable yet of understanding other than the class audio tracks where speakers talk paused, clear and loud with basic vocabulary.

My thoughts during the movie were: Wow, this movie is exciting!... Jack is cute!... Annie is funny!... On my God I can understand the movie without subtitles in Spanish!!!

As I mentioned in the beginning, I have many favorite Sandra Bullock's movies, such as The Proposal, Premonition, The Net, The Lake House, Miss Congeniality 1 and 2 and Ocean's 8... But during those movies there's parts where I find myself doing something else because not every part of the movies interest me, and it doesn't happen with Speed, a movie that has my full attention from start to finish because of all the action in it.

I still get nervous when Annie has to drive through traffic with a huge bus, and she literally makes it fly! how cool is that? she's the unexpected heroine of the movie, and that scene where she makes the bus jump across an unfinished road it's a classic scene.

Just take a look at the scene, doesn't it make you want to see more?

¿Por qué es mi película favorita de Sandra Bullock?

Bueno, antes que nada, me gustaba Keanu Reeves en ese entonces, lo vi primero en Bill & Ted y me gustó el chico, yo tenía al rededor de 10 u 11 años cuando vi ésta película durante una clase de inglés... y ni siquiera era mi clase 😅.

Cuando estudiaba inglés de niña, mi mamá tomaba clases también, junto con mi hermano íbamos a la misma escuela de idiomas aunque en diferentes niveles y grupos. Un día, mi mamá seguía en su salón aunque su clase había terminado, me dirigí ahí en vez de esperarla en los pasillos y su maestra había puesto la película, me invitó a entrar.

Al inicio no estaba interesada en la película pero luego pensé "Oye, ¡ese es Ted! ¡de la película que me gusta!" y consiguió mi interés, pero no solo Keanu fue quien me enganchó, la trama era excitante, entendí por que nadie de la clase se quería ir, querían seguir mirando la película hasta el final.

También, esta película es especial porque me hizo dar cuenta de que podía entender el Inglés, no al cien por ciento aún, pero tenía la impresión de que por ser una niña que había estado estudiando un nivel de principiantes por meses no sabía mucho de la lengua, y no pensé que fuera capaz de entender otras cosas más que los audios de las clases donde los participantes hablan pausado, con claridad y fuerte con un vocabulario básico.

Mis pensamientos durante la película fueron: ¡Vaya, esta película es emocionante!... ¡Jack es lindo!... ¡Annie es divertida!... ¡¡¡Oh por Dios, puedo entender la película sin subtítulos en español!!!

Como mencioné al inicio, tengo varias películas favoritas de Sandra Bullock, tales como La Propuesta, Premoniciones, La Red, La casa del Lago, Miss Simpatía 1 y 2 y Las Estafadoras... pero durante esas películas hay partes donde me pongo a hacer algo más porque no todas las partes de las películas me interesan, y eso no pasa con Máxima Velocidad, una película que capta mi total atención de principio a fin por la acción que contiene.

Aún me pongo nerviosa cuando Annie tiene que conducir a través del tráfico con un gran autobús, ¡y literalmente lo hace volar! ¿no es eso genial? es la heroína inesperada de la película y esa escena donde hace el autobús saltar a través del camino sin terminar es una clásica.

Solo echen un vistazo a dicha escena, ¿no les hace querer ver más?

It's impressive how a good actress Sandra Bullock is, she can be dramatic, serious, funny and many emotions more and make you connect with her characters, she's great!

Es Impresionante lo buena actriz que es Sandra Bullock, puede ser dramática, seria, divertida y muchas emociones más y hacerte conectar con sus personajes, ¡es genia!
