   The colony ( 2013 ) ~ a cinematic creation worth watching.

   The Colony (2013) is a post-apocalyptic film that tells the story of a group of survivors living in an underground colony. When communication with another colony is lost, a group of three embark on a dangerous expedition to find out what happened.

   **The film is off to a promising start, offering an interesting take on a frozen post-apocalyptic world. Laurence Fishburne's character Briggs is a strong and determined leader, and his relationship with Sam, played by Kevin Zegers, is full of tension.**

   However, as the film progresses with the narrative thread, the clichés start to appear. The colonists are forced to face a host of familiar dangers, including a gang of cannibals, a snowstorm, and a traitor within their own colony.

   * **I loved this post-apocalyptic movie ~ yep, i was glad to see a new movie in this genre. The Colony has some issues, but overall it's an interesting and engaging film. I recommend with confidence.**

   The atmosphere of the film is very well done. Director Jeff Renfroe creates a sense of impending danger that makes the film riveting.

   I liked that the film explores the theme of survival in extreme conditions. I was impressed by the characters, who are determined to overcome all obstacles to save their community. I also liked that the film has a dark and anxious atmosphere that creates a sense of tension and suspense.

   The Colony ( 2013 ) is a film worth seeing, but it will not leave a lasting impression.

   Today I come to tell you about a wonderful film that I saw some time ago and that I saw again yesterday, it is quite raw but it reflects the reality lived in a community that although it pretended to be a good opportunity for the weakest and most helpless, in reality it kept the darkest secrets of an evil and degenerate being, I am referring of course to Colonia, a great Netflix production of 2016, starring Emma Watson, Daniel Bruhl and Michael Nyqvist.

   El día de hoy vengo a hablarles de una maravillosa película que vi hace algún tiempo y que volví a ver ayer, es bastante cruda pero refleja la realidad vivida dentro de una comunidad que aunque pretendía ser una buena oportunidad para los más débiles y desamparados, en realidad guardaba los más oscuros secretos de un ser malvado y degenerado, me refiero desde luego a Colonia, una grandiosa producción de Netflix del 2016, protagonizada por Emma Watson, Daniel Bruhl y Michael Nyqvist.

   

   Summary/Resumen

   Lena and Daniel are a German couple in Chile at a time when Salvador Allende was under attack from his detractors. Daniel was a young adventurer with a thirst for justice, a revolutionary in every sense of the word, and Lena, Lena, his wife, a young stewardess, meets him later when the airline she was working for arrives in Chile. Unfortunately, shortly after the coup d'état breaks out, Allende is killed and Augusto Pinochet is installed as dictator, so his regime begins to persecute all of Allende's followers. Thanks to a warning, Daniel and Lena try to flee but are captured because Daniel was taking pictures of the soldiers beating people.

   Mi opinión/My Opinion

   One of the things that I sincerely have to praise about this film is the story and the script, written by Torsten Wenzel and Florian Gallenberger, they really did a great job with the dialogues and the structure of this story between Lena and Daniel that, although it didn't exist, I think that they knew how to represent in a superb way everything lived not only because of Pinochet's dictatorship, but inside the walls of La Colonia, being at the mercy of Paul Schäfer and his fervent followers, it is a very well narrated story that constantly immerses you in the anguish and impotence that someone who is held against his will must feel, it also represents very well what is corruption, hypocrisy and the greatest sin... omission, knowing that something bad is happening somewhere and not doing something about it.

   Una de las cosas que sinceramente tengo que alabar de esta película es la historia y el guion, escrito por Torsten Wenzel y Florian Gallenberger, de verdad hicieron un gran trabajo con los diálogos yla estructura de esta historia entre Lena y Daniel que, si bien no existió, pienso que supo representar de forma soberbia todo lo vivido no solo a causa de la dictadura de Pinochet, sino dentro de los muros de La Colonia, estando a merced de Paul Schäfer y sus fervientes seguidores, es una historia muy bien narrada que te sumerge constantemente en la angustia e impotencia que debe sentir alguien que está retenido en contra de su voluntad, además representa muy bien lo que es la corrupción, la hipocresía y el pecado más grande... la omisión, saber que algo malo está sucediendo en alguna parte y no hacer algo al respecto.

   En cuanto a la fotografía también me agradó, supieron manejar las luces y sombras según las emociones que querían transmitir en las escenas, usaron filtros oscuros y opacos en las escenas de tortura o que generaban angustia de alguna forma, pero coloridos e iluminados donde querían transmitir "seguridad" y "confianza" como en la escena donde reciben a Pinochet en la Colonia.

   Another detail I liked was the delicacy with which they dealt with the subject of Paul Schäfer's abuse of children, through suggestive shots where he puts a hand on their shoulder, or when they undress in the shower while the chorus of children's voices can be heard, as a contrast between the purity of innocence and the evil of this vile being.

   Otro detalle que me gustó fue la delicadeza que tuvieron a la hora de abordar el tema de los abusos de Paul Schäfer hacia los niños, lo hicieron a través de planos sugestivos donde les pone una mano en el hombro, o cuando ellos se desvisten en la ducha mientras se oye el coro de las voces infantiles, como un contraste entre la pureza de la inocencia y la maldad de este ser vil.

   The performances were superb, wonderful, each of the actors did their job very well and got a lot out of their character, first of all I will talk about Emma Watson, Lena is a character that I am sure she enjoyed playing and that was noticeable in her execution, she is a strong, determined and brave woman, watching the scenes with Daniel Bruhl you can notice a great connection, a lot of love, in the scenes of anguish you can almost see her shaking, and the scenes where her eyes are moistened managed to move me.

   Las actuaciones estuvieron soberbias, maravillosas, cada uno de los actores hizo muy bien su trabajo y le sacó mucho provecho a su personaje, en primer lugar hablaré de Emma Watson, Lena es un personaje que estoy segura que ella disfrutó interpretar y eso se notó en su ejecución, es una mujer fuerte, decidida y valiente, al ver las escenas con Daniel Bruhl puedes notar una gran conexión, mucho amor, en las escenas de angustia casi puedes verla temblar, y las escenas donde sus ojos se humedecen lograron conmoverme.

   Daniel Bruhl's character obviously has more histrionic demands due to the fact that he practically has to do a performance within the performance, that is to say, in the plot his character pretends to have mental sequels after torture, but he does it in such a convincing way that he also manages to deceive the audience in the beginning, which generates a greater empathy towards him, I really loved his participation in this film.

   El personaje de Daniel Bruhl obviamente tiene mayor exigencia histriónica debido a que prácticamente debe hacer una actuación dentro de la actuación, es decir, en la trama su personaje finge tener secuelas mentales tras la tortura, pero lo hace de una forma tan convincente que logra engañar también a la audiencia en un principio, lo que nos genera una mayor empatía hacia él, de verdad amé su participación en esta película.

   As for Michael Nyqvist I think it was my favourite performance because his character, the evil Paul Schäfer, is not at all easy to play, he is too complex, a guy with an ambiguous personality, on the one hand he pretends to be a supposed "loving father" "A good shepherd" while on the other hand he is a depraved, murderous and despot. His body language goes very well with his dialogue, slow and subtle movements that suddenly become violent. I like the look the character holds when he is making judgements, you can almost feel how unhinged he is, how evil his soul is.

   En cuanto a Michael Nyqvist creo que fue mi actuación favorita ya que su personaje, el malvado Paul Schäfer, no es para nada fácil de interpretar, es demasiado complejo, un tipo con una personalidad ambigua, por un lado pretende ser un supuesto "Padre amoroso" "Un buen pastor" mientras que por el otro es un depravado, asesino y déspota. Su expresión corporal va muy bien con sus diálogos, movimientos lentos y sutiles que de pronto se transforman en violentos. Me gusta la mirada que sostiene el personaje cuando está emitiendo juicios, casi puedes notar lo desquiciado que está, la maldad que alberga su alma.

   And finally I think I have to talk about the costumes, wow! I loved the way they took care of all the details, at the beginning of the film they really make you feel like you are in the 70's and later, in the scenes inside the colony, the costumes represent the rigidity and sobriety of the cult, matching perfectly with the photographs that were found from that time.

   Y finalmente creo que debo hablar del vestuario ¡Wow! Amé la forma en que cuidaron todos los detalles, al principio de la película de verdad te hacen sentir que estás en los años 70 y posteriormente, en las escenas dentro de la colonia, el vestuario representa la rigidez y sobriedad del culto, coincidiendo perfectamente con las fotografías que se encontraron de ese tiempo.

   In conclusion I think Colony is a spectacular film, I recommend it wholeheartedly because it helps us to have a broader vision of what could be happening in any part of the world at this moment without us knowing it, terrible things that some are determined to hide while other brave people work to bring the truth to light, it is a call to conscience and also to reason, not everyone who claims to be good is good, there are many wolves in sheep's clothing, but I don't want to say goodbye without mentioning a very interesting phrase among Paul Schäfer's dialogues in the film: "Breaking a person without physically harming him is an art ".

   En conclusión creo que Colonia es una película espectacular, se las recomiendo de todo corazón porque nos ayuda a tener una visión más amplia de lo que podría estar pasando en cualquier parte del mundo en este momento sin que nosotros lo sepamos, cosas terribles que algunos se empeñan en ocultar mientras otros valientes trabajan por hacer que la verdad salga a la luz, es un llamado de atención a la consciencia y también a la razón, no todo aquel que dice ser bueno lo es, existen muchos lobos vistiendo pieles de oveja, pero no quiero despedirme sin antes mencionar una frase muy interesante entre los diálogos de Paul Schäfer en la película: "Romper a una persona sin dañarla físicamente es un arte"

They wear masks on their faces as a precaution against the flu virus. Just like the masks put on us by the corona, which is in its third year. I told you, movies are the eye that shows the future. If we continue to plunder the earth, we will try to exist in small living spaces underground as in the movie. This possibility is not far away!

   One day it will start making snow and it will never stop! This is exactly what happens in The Colony, and the earth is completely covered with snow and surrenders to the cold. The only purpose of people living underground in colonies is to survive in an environment of chaos. The 7th Colony goes to the 5th Colony's call for help and the gripping adventure of the movie begins.

   Among all the rules, the priority rule; is to survive. Even though it was summer and it was extremely hot, I could feel the cold while watching the movie. Director Jeff Renfroe deserves extra congratulations for succeeding in reflecting the cold that has captured the world to the audience.

   Kevin Zegers plays the character of Sam in The Colony. Charlotte Sullivan plays the character of Sam's girlfriend Kai. Another character in the movie, Briggs, is played by Laurence Fishburne and the character of Mason belongs to Bill Paxton.

   Many movies are being made about the destruction of the world. The Colony movie is about trying to live again after extinction. The film reveals what can cost the balance of nature being disturbed. You can see it as a simple movie, or you can watch it more meaningfully, believing that it will happen in the future. There is a struggle, and the struggle is well portrayed in terms of both the climate challenges, the director and the actors. It is gripping and makes time pass quickly.

   It can be seen as a fiction or a projection of reality, but I love movies that focus on possible future events. It doesn't matter if it's fact or fiction. What matters is the way they reflect a potentially watchable story. The story may or may not be true in the future, but we know that life on earth is under threat.
