I've seen this movie more than three times, if I am not mistaken but I am only just finding out that it was loosely based on the life of a 19th century showman PT. Barnum although, the movie is heavily fictionalized and romanticized than what really happened in the time of Barnum. It's a movie I've always loved to watch over and over.
There are like many reasons I enjoyed this masterpiece... Yes, it's one of the masterpiece I've come across in the musical genre. I can still remember so much that happened in the story even though it's been a while since the last time I watched it. Although, I felt a little off to find out the real story was by far more cruel and uncool.
Well, it's where the power of retelling a story is, it can be told better for people to appreciate good things instead of being stuck in the negative things that can not be changed. It's sad that the human mind tend to hold fast on negative things and this masterpiece brings about all the positivity anyone would need to listen to and see.

The story explores the life of an orphaned, poor and ambitious Phineas Taylor Barnum who gets the idea to become the greatest showman in his time after he is laid off his corporate work and must find a way to care for his family. He decides to work with special people, those who were considered weird or even monstrous in looks and they all began to plan for the biggest show ever.
I totally love the character of Michelle Williams who played the role of Barnum's wife with children. Viewers are made to understand that she had everything she could ever want but decided to let all that go to be with Barnum for his big dreams and for her love for him. Considering that it took a while and some obstacles for him to achieve his dream, she is portrayed as a strong and supportive wife to him.
Among the other remarkable characters are Zac Efron as Phillip Carlyle, Zendaya as Anne Wheeler who got my attention with the romantic side they brought to the story. A love that shouldn't be but can not be stopped, their duet scene still plays in my head anytime I remember this movie. I liked that the showman is portrayed as one who cared for all his peculiar circus members, not cruel.
I can say for sure in my opinion that all the songs in this musical crosses 90 rating on my music books, I totally enjoyed listening to every one of them especially for the lyrics most of them tell. I also learned some were truly sang by the characters in the movie, some by another who didn't act in the story. Over all, it's a must watch.

If you don't, this review is on the movie, “The Greatest Showman,” a beautiful musical and drama. The movie stars Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya, directed by Michael Gracey, based on an original story by Bicks. That makes it more interesting, but maybe not enough yet.
The movie featured nine original songs written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. “The Greatest Showman” brought more than just an enjoyable musical that you might randomly see, it explored originality strongly and beautifully. A fictionalised depiction of the life of P. T. Barnum, the owner of Barnum & Bailey Circus, the movie follows the rise to success of the showman and entertainer who forged his destiny through an unconventional idea.
Coming from a poor background and losing his job because the company had to close, Barnum decided to take a loan, and with that he started Barnum’s American Museum. It wasn't a success. He needed something “alive” and that gave him the idea of a circus. If only it were just a normal circus. Barnum hired different kinds of “freaks” and made them into talents and figures, entertaining the audience which grew rapidly.
Barnum’s resilience to succeed, even his team of “freaks” whom he helped find some meaning in life was commendable. It's important to mention how Barnum’s later association with people of high status made him keep a distance from the group, having them work without him. That itself revealed how selfish and inconsiderate our desires can make us.
Though rejected and made a mockery of by many people, Barnum and his team continued to push through. The circus became a success. But Barnum’s desire wasn't contained or satisfied. He came across Jenny Lind, a famed Swedish singer at a highly profiled meeting. He persuaded her to have a music tour around America, with him as her manager. Abandoning his team, he took on this quest with the singer which later developed into a problem that cost him.
The story was interesting all along. The circus, the singing and the choreography defined the movie. As a musical, the music is a major part of the movie and a main attraction, which it didn't fail to display. Some of the originally composed songs went on to win awards. It reflects how this aspect of the musical/drama was well constructed and delivered, not just melodies but telling stories, which makes it stand out as a wonderful and interesting musical.
The actors performed well, in the script and in the music. “The Greatest Showman” didn't just deliver music and melodies, but told a story, beyond just scripts, through music and good choreography. What I have against the movie is the large inaccuracy from the real story. They seem to have sacrificed it to create an interesting fiction. Real-life stories should be treated better. But as a movie, it was a good watch. Even as one who's not a big fan of musicals, I can say that.
Hi everyone! There are some movies we simply love so much that we enjoy watching them over and over again. Years ago, while looking for something to watch one night, I decided to give a chance to a film I initially wasn't sure about; however, I ended up loving it so much that I was already tearing up halfway through. You see, I have to admit that I really love musicals. It’s one of those unique tastes I have within my family—and since I’m the only one who likes them, I usually watch them alone. Far from being a bad thing, this actually allows me to fully immerse myself in the emotions being conveyed, and this movie certainly succeeds at that—and does so brilliantly—through both its music and its plot. So, feeling inspired while listening to one of my favorite songs from the film, I’d like to share my thoughts on The Greatest Showman.

Podría decirse que es un poco de esa variante de gustos que solo tengo yo en mi familia y que, al solo tenerla yo, tengo ese hábito de ver en solitario, cosa que, más allá de algo malo, hace que pueda explorar mucho más las emociones que se transmiten y esta película debo decir que sí lo hace y muy bien, tanto en su música como en su trama. For me, this movie is simply a work of art—mostly because whenever I see it on TV, I get excited like a little girl; I start singing along to every song and watching the story intently, so I never find it boring or tedious to watch over and over. I love it when not only the plot is good but the music is too—when those two elements blend so perfectly that we remember the film not just for its story, but for its elegant musical artistry. I listen to the soundtrack a lot, and some of the tracks are on my go-to mood-boosting playlist—like the movie's main theme or one of my absolute favorites, "The Other Side" (a song so good that I’ve even listened to various covers of it).
A ver, esta película, para mí, simplemente es una obra de arte, más que todo porque cada que veo que está en la televisión, soy como una niña que se emociona y comienza a cantar cada tema y ver atentamente la historia, por lo que a mí personalmente no me es aburrida y me molesta lo repetitivo de verla. Y es que algo que me gusta es cuando no solo es buena la trama, sino la música, cuando se fusionan tan bien esas dos áreas que sin duda hacen que no solo recordemos la película por de qué va, sino que también por lo elegante de la arte musical, lo cual yo suelo escuchar mucho, y algunos de los temas forman parte de ese playlist que siempre me sube el ánimo, como la canción base de la peli o una de las que más me gusta, que es "The Other Side", de la que incluso tengo covers por lo buena que es.

Y debo decir que no soy mucho de ver mucha fantasía en la romántica, pero la historia de amor del protagonista es simplemente hermosa, claro, porque es como esas demostraciones de que si queremos a alguien, podemos conseguirlo, pero a su vez también demuestra que así cuando la vida te pone a prueba, aun cuando piensas que ya nada puede tumbar lo que crees que está estable.

Así mismo, también nos cuenta diversas visiones a modo de enseñanza, tanto en lo que es el estigma o el aspecto físico, las irregularidades de un cuerpo que no tiene por qué ser raro, así como incluso lo que es el proceso de adquirir el amor propio dentro de un mundo que juzga a diario o incluso el miedo al rechazo ante lo que es querer cumplir un sueño o seguir el rumbo que impone una sociedad, ya sea por raza, género o incluso limitaciones, pero sobre todo una clara muestra de lo que es levantarse luego de que todo está perdido y lograr así hacer algo mejor y superior a lo que ya se tenía con mejor visión y sin tantas inseguridades. Esta película es un cofre lleno de diversas enseñanzas de vida, no solo en un aspecto, sino en cualquiera que se vea desde una visión infantil que motiva como una adulta que logra encontrarse el rumbo y sentido de su vida que creía ya perdida o dictaminada.
De principio a fin, es toda una ruleta rusa de momentos que pueden marcar perfectamente nuestra mente y que incluso podrían hacernos tanto sentir identificados como también añorar un poco de algunas emociones, además de lo mucho que me suelen gustar las películas donde tenemos a Hugh Jackman con un espléndido y trabajado físico como lo es el del protagonista en esta ocasión.
