The Shawshank redemption [Hope and resilience]90@les905d8 views
Hello everyone
I hope so you all are fine and happy 😀
I'm here again with the movie review that brings back my memories , you can say those memories aren't just good or just bad but they're the one. I'm going to take you back in 1994 with the movie The Shawshank redemption, it's the old movie but still remain in my heart as I watched it just yesterday.
Some movies not only entertain us but also gave us the message for our entire life and The Shawshank redemption is one of those movies which stays with me always because it's the movie about hope, self believe and resilient and obviously there's some year's when i need this too so the movie help me with a message.
The Shawshank redemption isn't just a movie about the prison life but in short it gives us hope. There was two main character in the movies which were Andy and Red and Tim Robbin and Morgan Freeman played the role very well too. Andy came into the jail for lifetime prison in the sentence of his wife and his boyfriend murder.
But the Red already in jail and he know how the jail life works as he's experience person. He often thinks about Andy that he's a different person and seems like he's not belong from this world but now he's here and Red told him that he'll know the rules, while I like the Red character most who gave him instructions and help him to settle there.
Red was so adjust in the prison that he accepted it and now he's even scare from getting out but Andy was totally opposite from him because he believes that one day he'll go out from it. And he ment it and he gives strength and hope to his friend Red too. I also love the character of Andy who always tried to help other's and want to see his friends happy around him as he thinks that still they feel happiness.
Both they make a way to find little happiness in totally sad moments and when there's no life they find a way to feel the life and also they make it finally. I'm not going to tell you the ending but really The ending was so heart touching, so much satisfied. Overall the movie May seems you boring because only about the life of prisoners but if you see it through an angle you'll find a lot meaningful in it.
How it connects to me?
I think this movie not only connect to me while it connects to every person who finds hope in so much difficult time. I also faced some critical months or year's in life when i was thinking I'm stuck to it and i can't come out of it but inner me somehow forced me that one day you'll do it and now i think really that little seed of hope help me too.
›Reseña del filme "Cadena Perpetua"/Review of the Film "The Shawshank Redemption" (Life Sentence) (Esp-Esp)@kpoulout370d

Review of the Film "The Shawshank Redemption" (Life Sentence)
Hello, my friends.
Warm greetings to all on this Saturday.
Ever since I saw, a few months ago, a post by @melinda010100 about a wonderful place called Zihuatanejo in Mexico, I've been wanting to make this post.
Today, I want to talk about a very well-known film that I’ve seen three times and would gladly watch again. Yes, I’m repetitive with the things I love and am passionate about. This work, the directorial debut of Frank Darabont, was released in 1994 and did not achieve the expected success. Experts say this was due to competition with "Pulp Fiction" and "Forrest Gump," in addition to the unpopularity of the prison genre and the lack of female characters. Source
Despite its 7 Oscar nominations (including Best Picture), it didn’t win any. It was the following year (1995) that it earned its well-deserved resurrection.
"The Shawshank Redemption," in my opinion, is a film about the human spirit, the power of hope in darkness, friendship, the pain caused by injustice, corruption, and hypocrisy. It features stellar performances from Tim Robbins in the lead role (Andy Dufresne) and Morgan Freeman as Red, among others.
The movie tells the story of Andy, a banker sentenced to two life terms for the murder of his wife. In prison, he meets Red, a veteran known as the "man who can get things," with whom he forges a sincere friendship—a friendship that gives soul to the story. Andy’s life in prison is full of endless setbacks and humiliations, which I won’t recount because I don’t want to spoil anything. But thanks to Red, who feels great empathy for him from the start, that terrible situation "improves." Andy and Red don’t hug or share secrets; however, their strong connection is built on glances, beers on the rooftop, and silent trust.
Source
When the warden of Shawshank Prison, a hypocritical and corrupt man, discovers Andy’s banking skills, he uses him to launder money, not realizing it would be his worst mistake. Meanwhile, Andy clings to hope, which helps him "transform" the prison by creating a large library.
This film has many emotional and heartbreaking scenes, along with several subplots. One that particularly caught my attention was that of the elderly librarian who spent 50 years in prison and, upon release, felt so alienated from everything that he couldn’t adapt to freedom and ended up taking his own life. Source
Another moving scene is when Andy locks himself in a booth and broadcasts "The Marriage of Figaro" over the loudspeakers. The prisoners’ reaction upon hearing the music was magical, just as Red’s voiceover says: "For a few moments, every man in Shawshank felt free." This event earned the protagonist severe punishment.
More than a drama critiquing the prison system and abuse of power, this film is a struggle between hope and despair. Something admirable about the protagonist is his patience and perseverance, with which he achieves everything he sets out to do.
The melancholic piano soundtrack reinforces the sentimental tone. Like many great works, it also has a circular structure, which you’ll notice when you watch it. When I first saw this film, I had just come out of an existential crisis, and I feel it helped me greatly. "The Shawshank Redemption" changed my life for the better. It made me more human, understanding, empathetic, and resilient. It’s a film that moves you with its honesty, masterfully blending drama and thriller.
"The Shawshank Redemption" is a work of excellence, transcending through the resilience of the soul against oppression and the preservation of hope in terrible circumstances. Its greatness lies in its simplicity—there’s no excessive heroism, just small acts of dignity and natural performances. Thirty years after its release, all its messages remain relevant. Today, it tops IMDb’s Top 250 (9.3/10 with 3M votes), surpassing "The Godfather" since 2008.
Source
A curious fact I’d like to share for those who don’t know: Tim Robbins prepared for his role by locking himself in real cells to grasp the character’s true psychological pain.
I’m sure many of you have already seen this film and know what I’m talking about, but I also know some haven’t—this review is for them. Believe me, you won’t regret it.
Note: Once you see the movie, you'll know about Zihuatanejo.
Hope is not a bad thing, it's something no one can get to, that no one can take from you.
This is not just a story of a prison break, it about hope, freedom, friendship and human spirit.
Some movies just goes past being a movie, they hit differently and leave you in complete emotional hysteria. I had watched this movie a long time ago, if you had GOtv or DStv, you'll know that they showed this movie countless times on TNT and even though I had watched it I would rewatch it over and over again. I recently remembered it and I had to rewatch it again and even after watching it more than twice, a tear or two still roll down my eyes, I still feel the somber aftertaste. I never seem to get over the movie.
This story starts with Andy Dufresne(Tim Robbins) a well mannered banker, accused for the murder of his wife and her lover and is sentenced to two life sentences, to be served in Shawshank prison. He claims he's innocent and I for one had no reason to doubt it. Andy Dufresne is one of my favorite characters in cinema history. There something about him, he is different compared to the rest of the inmates, he moves with a kind of stroll, without a care in the world like he is shielded from the harsh reality of prison. He seems calm and cold, almost inhuman, he doesn't panic, in fact his too calm and takes it as it is. He moved as if he knew everything would be okay in the end.
Andy Dufresne is the epitome of hope, even in a cold grey walls of Shawshank State penitentiary he finds a little light, like restoring the library, helping inmates get their GEDs, playing opera over the PA system.
Prison time is slow time, so you do what you can to keep going, some collected stamps, others build matchstick houses, Andy built a library.
He doesn't confirm, he doesn't let the system define him or break his spirit.
On the inside he meets Ellis Redding "Red" (Morgan Freeman), a man who knows how to get things, he is institutionalized just like Brooks, the old liberian, he's accustom to the walls of Shawshank that it seem safe, he has given up hope on parole and himself. He likes Andy from the start and a friendship bond is formed. Through Andy, Red also starts to believe and also get his redemption. Red (Morgan Freeman) is also the narrator and his narration gives the movie a cinematic feel, it's more than just a voice over, it adds not just only texture but it also brings the movie to life.
The main message of Shawshank Redemption is hope, not the one that is easily swayed but the kind that grows even in the darkest of times, where you have no reason to hope, to believe. It also expose how prison affects one's mind, it breaks the inmates down slowly convincing you that it is safe.
blockquote
These walls are funny, first you hate it, then you get used to it and then you depend on it.
It also shows the hurdles you have to face to get redemption, Andy's escape shows his rebirth and redemption from not only prison but the cage the world put him in, "He crawled through five yards of shit and came out clean on the other side". This shows that Redemption is hard and messy but it is totally worth it.
Although I'll have to say this movie is long, it a two hour plus movie and I don't even watch movies that long no matter how interesting the trailer is but this movie really changed my mind about that. The movie is also slow yet short at the same. What I mean is the storytelling is slow and soft yet so good that I didn't want it to end. So if you like a fast paced movie with action this movie is not for you.
I'll give this a 10/10✨🤌.
Shawshank Redemption is a masterpiece, might be an old movie but it's still valid. If you've watched it, rewatch because it never gets old and if you haven't taken your time don't rush through it and let it sink in.
My final words are, Shawshank Redemption is more than a movie or prison break, it's about having being kind in a cruel world, having friendships that helps, it's about hope the kind that never die even when everything is bleak.

The Shawshank Redemption Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins
This movie is captioned The Shawshank Redemption. Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins is very interesting due to the fact that it actually has to do with two characters, Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, who surface from the support level to the surface that we can feel the impact of their creation, hence within the coverage of this movie that covers that of hope, which speaks of hope within Shawshank State Penitentiary, which was the theme that retained the engagement within this movie, which makes it so exceptional for me and for my interest.
So within the partition of this movie, it involves the likes of a quiet catalyst known as Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins). Within this hope-reminding, Andy Dufresne was regarded as the character who bore what others committed without him being involved in any of this crime that he was actually accused of. Even as the movie focused attention on him for the crime, his determination always vindicated him with freedom and as much dignity, hence his persistence and his acts always speak of his influence, which is the reason behind his escape from the prison when the situation retained him where he could have his freedom.
Also within the movie is another spotted man within the scene that also catches my interest, which makes me retain the engagement to watch this movie; hence, this man is known as Ellis “Red” Redding (Morgan Freeman), who stands as the man behind the anchoring in terms of reflection, who gave the narration. Hence, the collective impact within the movies speaks of the collective effort of Robbins and Freeman, which actualizes on what emotion can actually catalyze an effect towards emotional resurrection, which has to be portrayed among the viewers as it demonstrates the strength against insurmountable odds, which speaks about hope as the force that gets work done. Hence, the movies are not just about Andy and Red bringing men into captivity; rather, they speak of them as the actuaries behind the pioneering, which has to do with liberation.
Within the pixel movement of this movie, I came to realize and understand that there is an influence of legacy left behind in the shadow of this movie. with the likes of Robbins and Morgan Freeman portraying the legacy that is quite emulating, which actually speaks of hope across perseverance, which encouraged change as the clip of the movie counts down as it keeps winding down to the end of the act, which ends with what personal liberation is all about, indicating that man can triumph with a breakthrough when he believes and hopes with implemented effort that tends to lead to the transformation of life.
So within the movie, it speaks about Shawshank Redemption, which is about Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), who was actually known as the quiet banker who was actually crucified with the allegation of a crime that he defended that he didn't know how it all happened. Hence, despite all the conditions that he was actually sentenced to, he still believed, which set him up free what he was at the end of the movie.
As the condition made Andy inconvenient to his desire, he set himself on pace making confinement that stands for hope across redemption, which prompted him to educate his fellow inmate. within the year as he passes his day and night within the prison, deepening that of the relationship that he has with Andy and Red, which now sparks out trust as Andy quietly keeps planning for escape as he believes that, one day, he will be off from the four walls of the prison that he was held captive in, which he came to actualize with freedom for himself; hence, this conveys endurance, that it may take time, but it will definitely take place if just one can actually believe in his or her ability, which in a nutshell envisions that of the future with liberation, which is the reason I rated this movie 8 out of 10.

In cinema there are many movies of different genres: action, science fiction, drama, comedy, horror. However, there are always movies that inspire us to be better people, to fight for our dreams and to recognize that our life is not so bad or that we can change it if we want to.
As is often the case, for everyone, there is at least one movie that inspired them to something, anything, but it inspired them. Thinking about choosing one, a movie came to my mind, a movie of old date, but that I have always liked very much for the story it shares with us.
Dreams of Escape
The title of this movie in English is The Shawshank Redemption, Cadena perpetua in Spain, Sueños de libertad or Escape to freedom in Argentina and Sueño de Fuga in the rest of Latin America, the film tells us how a brilliant banker is accused of murdering his wife and her lover, in a fit of rage after discovering that she was unfaithful, or that was what the prosecution alleged during the trial for which he was sentenced to life imprisonment in Shawshank State Prison.
The film is narrated from the point of view of one of his fellow inmates and how, as time goes by, this man manages to survive the routine and horrors of prison thanks to various activities in which he involves his friends.
In Dreams of Escape we see the protagonist overcome his abilities to fight the sadists of the penitentiary, the corrupt mayor and his guards who make him work for their own benefit.
Now, what inspires me about this movie? The first thing is that we can find true friendship in the least expected places and from very different, but truly valuable people, another thing even in the middle of a place as brutal and extreme as prison and with everything against him, so Andy did not give up and helped everyone he could and also secretly continued to work for his freedom, since he was really innocent, but those who benefited from his financial talents did not intend to let him go, even discovering that he did not have to be there.
Among the things that inspire me the most is also the time it took him to dig the tunnel with the tools he had, Andy being so smart should have known this from the beginning, but he never gave up, nor did he give up what he had in mind and not for that he stopped helping his friends especially Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding.
Another thing that the film presents and that inspires me is how they came to believe that Andy would always be dominated, forgetting or forgetting how smart this man was and how in the end he managed to leave them without a penny, exposing them to the respective authorities, which reminds me that the bad guys do not always succeed and that sooner or later everything comes to light.
Maybe you didn't know it, but this movie was based on a short novel Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption (1982), by Stephen King, which tells the story of banker Andy Dufresne, after being sentenced to life imprisonment.
This film featured a masterful cast including Tim Robbins as Andrew “Andy” Dufresne, Morgan Freeman as Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding, Bob Gunton as Samuel Norton, William Sadler as Heywood and Gil Bellows as Tommy Williams.
Dreams of Freedom, is one of those movies that you never get tired of watching and that leaves you with a pleasant aftertaste when you see its denouement. So I bid farewell to my participation in the topic proposed for January 09 in the Monthly Prompts | January INLEO

›Keep hope alive, and it’ll keep you alive | The Shawshank Redemption Review [ENG-ESP]@restcity699d
(Spanish ver. at the bottom.)
> “I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.”
-Red (played by Morgan Freeman).
This line is as alluring as the movie it’s from. The movie in question, The Shawshank Redemption, is my father’s favorite movie, and he doesn’t even care for film. In fact, there have been countless times where I would be so invested in a movie only to see his chair is empty or he’s snoring, sleep more interesting than movie night. I remember when I was younger I’d ask him if there was any movie out there that he did like, and he’d say The Shawshank Redemption. I remember seeing the movie cover and thinking, what, why?
Recently, we watched the movie together for the first time, and now I see why it is held so highly by him. It is art, and I was surprised to see the whole movie was based on a short story by Stephen King.
The Shawshank Redemption starts out showing Andy Dufrense, a banker convicted of murdering his wife and her lover. He’s then sentenced to Shawshank Prison. From the beginning Andy proves to be a peculiar prisoner, and with him, everything isn’t as it seems. From the warden, to prison guards, to even other convicts, no one knows what to make of him. It’s a race to figure him out, challenging even for long-time inmate and close friend, Red, who the story is told by.
Review
The Shawshank Redemption had good characters, from the guards to the inmates. I knew enough about their personalities to like or dislike them, but there was enough of their stories left untold to wonder about. Lots of characters had me intrigued to find out how they got into Shawshank prison.
The suspense was just beautiful. If you know anything about Stephen King, you know that horror is his specialty. Now, The Shawshank Redemption isn’t a horror film, but the elements of suspense are definitely there and will have you wondering why Andy does certain things… and what will happen to Andy because he did.
The moral of hope in this film is very influential. It’s the driving force of the movie, and something Andy keeps so dearly. There’s people who have hope, and people who don’t. They also show people who lose hope…as well as people who gain it. I think that’s one of the things that makes this story so special.
Despite Andy Dufrense being the story’s center, the story is told by Red through the occasional monologue.
Initially I didn’t like that. I mean, Andy is the one shaking things up, why are we watching him through the eyes of Red? But thinking back, I grew to like that. Andy’s thoughts and ideas aren’t exposed, leaving an irresistible mystery to him, and leaving the viewer to think for themselves why and how Andy did things.
Overall, this movie was a work of art and definitely deserves the near perfect ratings it has on multiple sites. I’d recommend this movie to anyone who’d enjoy watching a long and satisfying tale. I will say though, a handful of scenes are quite violent and may prove a tough watch for some.

I don't know how to describe a movie that is very, very well made. And when this movie dates back 30 years, when I am aware that there are hundreds of articles and thousands of sentences written about it, my job becomes even more difficult. I even gave up writing for a while, but since I'm still here, let's start.
If I tell you 40 years of the story of a man who had to ask permission to urinate, I am only presenting you one of the pieces. Or if I tell you the drama of a man who was released from prison when he was old, it would be as simple as adding salad to the main course. If I talk about the existence of a character who suffers the worst possible pain for a crime he did not commit, words would be inadequate. Moreover, as someone who believes in the power of words, I can easily make this analogy.
When you are locked up for decades and then suddenly get out, what do you find most difficult to do? My answer to that question would be everything. When all you see for decades is stone walls and people who tell you when to eat, bathe, go to the toilet, and use psychological-physical violence, you forget how to live, even how to breathe. Not to mention the process of adapting to the technology and people that have changed over the years.
When freedom is lost, the value of some things is better understood. Even the definition of freedom can change after years of captivity. For some of us, freedom is being able to do anything at any time, while for others it is being kept under lock and key. Because in a changing life, not being able to adapt to anything and being a stranger to normal life is more difficult than being locked up.
Even though I said it was going to be difficult at the beginning, I admit that I didn't have any difficulty up to this point. Look, I haven't even gotten to the name of the movie yet. Anyway, let's get the mystery out of the way. I'm talking about the 1994 movie The Shawshank Redemption, which I think everyone has seen. Some even watched it over and over again like me. I don't even remember how many times I watched it anymore, but I enjoy it as much as the first time.
Throughout the story, where the perfect definition of captivity is given through a few characters, detailed descriptions are presented about what instantaneous decisions can cost. Each presentation turns into a sermon to be taken as a lesson. And every dialog sets the stage for the most valuable words. In short, every scene throughout the movie has a different value, and it has already taken its place in history as one of the masterpieces that should be watched without blinking an eye.
Each character has done his/her part and given the movie the greatest value he/she could, but I would like to talk about 3 characters that stand out for me. I already started the article by talking about these three characters implicitly without naming them. Now let's elaborate a little more.
Brooks Hatlen (played by James Whitmore), who has spent almost his entire life in captivity and has no clue about the outside world, adds the highest level of drama to the film. Not knowing how to live can be scaled up to deserving to die.
Ellis Boyd Redding (played by Morgan Freeman) had the strongest personality as a character who adapted to the bad conditions of his environment and made a role for himself. His strong personality, memorable in the most difficult circumstances, was worthy of inspiration. Morgan Freeman's acting was mesmerizing in every scene he was in with his mastery.
And Andy Dufrense (played by Tim Robbins), the unifying element of the whole story, of the characters. His perfect poise, acting and genius is evident in every scene of the movie. It was a pleasure to watch him shaping, directing and foreknowing everything that happens. It gives the same pleasure every time.
I don't think there is anyone left who hasn't seen The Shawshank Redemption, but if there is, I think you should stop what you are doing and watch it immediately. Even watch it again after a short time and then again and again and again...
Probably for me, the greatest film of all time. There is so much to this film it would take me 10,000 words to get all the way through what I wanted to say.
But today we'll focus on the core message. Hope.
One of the best phrases coined in this film would be from Red, "You can either get busy living, or get busy dying" -- and that is one true statement that I live my life by. The first time I was introduced into having a positive mindset.
Sure you can let your circumstances devour you. Andy Dufrense had been falsely accused, sent down in one of the toughest prisons there was, with some of the toughest guards the prison had ever seen, and to add insult to injury he was getting beaten up and raped regulalry.
He could have folded, he could have given up and just let the world do it's wicked thing with him, but no, he had hope.
This is probably my most favourite scene from the film. Bloodthirsty it was but boggs got every last bit that was coming to him.
I'm not a violent man, but I enjoyed every last minute of the end of this scene. To see boggs get his just deserts was the icing on the cake. It was just lovely.
And the message was clear in this - send hate out into the world and that will be returned to you by a factor of 10. Sent love out into the world and that also will be returned to you by a factor of 10.
Boggs lost the ability to walk after that scene and spent the rest of his life drinking his food through a straw.
And Andy Dufrense just didn't help the guards to get a few favours from them no, he also built the best prison library the state had ever seen, and put a couple of prisoners through their high school diplomas.
So even as a wrongly incarcerated young man, he still spent his life doing good things, and trying to keep busy. The prison could have swallowed him up, and definitely a prison like that one, but he kept his head held high and he muddled through it.
This was one of the films that got me through the worst period of my life. I watched it at least once a week to remind myself that there is hope and I could change things around, and it helped, a great deal.
That's why you'll find me muddling through when things get bad, because I've probably got about 1000 hours of The Shawshank Redemption and its message of hope as the foundation for my stance on "when things get bad."
I think everyone has one or two films that has seen them through some tough times. I know I have. This one being one of them.
I would be interested to hear in the comments if any of you guys have any films that have taken you through some particularly choppy waters?

Welcome my dear internet travelers prisoners and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, there are classics that transcend the passage of time and simply became a necessary classic to see if you really love cinema, the film that brings us together today fulfills With all these criteria being included even in the American National Film Registry, it may seem somewhat exaggerated but the point is that the film "The Shawshank Redemption" has earned each of its merits by basing its premise on something so dense. as is the life of convicts inside prison. Without further ado, prepare to be deprived of your freedom because we are about to begin.

The soundtrack is extremely melancholic and depressing, this is excellent because it reinforces the message that the film tries to build, being a more than wonderful accompaniment, at the same time, it knows how to vary when necessary in order to give a certain respite of hope to the depressing premise leaving it as a versatile section.

The construction of the world seeks and manages to convey the essence of a prison as it is a place in which injustice and abuse are the order of the day. This use of scenery seeks to catalyze how deplorable the place where the inmates live is. as the way in which the competent authorities treat them, the success of this lies in the fact that it does not seek to victimize criminals because they are there to break the law but it does seek to capture the way of life that they have both inside the prison and when they are released, thus denoting the hardships they go through during their incarceration and all the difficulties that they go through, they have the opportunity to reintegrate into society. Another point in favor of the context is the way in which it presents the functioning of the penitentiary in which not only are there abuses but corruption is found in all strata, from the convicts to the mayor, highlighting it even more for its moral bankruptcy. To finish with this section I have to mention the subtle way it shows the passage of time through elements and without the constant need to say what year they are in, since in most cases the viewer intuits it from what they see.

The plot may seem simple at first, however, it is powerfully interesting, it focuses on showing the way of life of the inmates which, despite being routine, knows how to add elements that give it a touch of interest; This includes watching them work, the atrocities they must endure, and the few pleasures they have even though these seem like mundane things. The level of violence and sexual abuse are constant, these are used to demonstrate a sad reality rather than as elements to generate pity for the prisoners. Each of the minutes of the film are used intelligently, despite focusing on the lives of its characters, it knows how to weave a good narrative that includes various things about its characters, horrible experiences and even elements that will be crucial for the final plot twist. that feels well thought out and very well anticipated.
Looking at something more philosophical, the film raises the idea of the importance of hope, which can be the fuel that ignites any engine thanks to thinking about the light at the end of the tunnel. Although this is a fairly generic concept, it fits perfectly with The premise of the film, in turn, raises a certain conflict about whether it can be bad by having the possibility of distancing men from reality; Although the above does not have an exaggerated complexity, it is quite engaging to see the different positions that the characters have regarding it.

Something curious happens with the characters, from the start the film makes it clear that most of them did horrible things and are paying the penalty for it, however the oscillation between everyday and unpleasant moments makes you grow fond of them since they do not deny having done bad things and most of them regret having built the path to their imprisonment, in turn, it is noticeable how on a collective level they have become insensitive to death and abuse by associating them as their daily bread being something that It fits well. It should be noted that there are some secondary characters that stand out for the concept they represent more than for their characterization itself. Brooks is brilliant for this reason, being the perfect representation of a person who spent more than half of his life behind bars and having a titanic difficulty in appreciating the long-awaited freedom, although this concept is also developed by one of the protagonists, it is through Brooks that it is developed in an exceptional way, being more notable for the fact that he is a secondary character with little importance, and, despite this, it is impossible not to feel sorry for him.
Obviously Andy and Red are the best built by developing an excellent camaraderie by denoting that friendship and appreciation for each other, however, on an individual level they also have a good development and are very different from each other; The first is a cultured, honest and educated man who claims to be innocent while being quite shy and quiet, finding himself forced to face countless misfortunes. Red, for his part, shows the mental effects of the prison and exemplifies the fact that during the Incarceration, the prisoners were not prepared for reintegration into society, denoting this failure and lack of interest on the part of the system for the future of these people and the high possibility of reoffending as they did not feel that they could fit back into a world that He continued moving forward without them. There are several quite despicable antagonists, however the mayor is without a doubt the worst as he is notably ruthless and a first-class criminal, making it easy to be disgusted and repudiated.
The Shawshank Redemption exceptionally accomplishes each of the things it sets out to do, it knows how to take a simple premise one step further and keeps the viewer absorbed with the different hardships of its characters, although it makes it clear that they are convicts, it is impossible not to empathize. with them and with their feelings since at the end of the day they are still human, who made horrible mistakes and crimes but still have desires, dreams and fears. It is for all of the above that it deserves 5.5 stars out of 7, a work with a lot of interesting content that makes you reflect on the way of life of those deprived of liberty and whether everything they suffer is deserved or not.

"The Shawshank Redemption" is a prison drama film directed by Frank Darabont. The story is set in Shawshank, a maximum security prison.
The protagonist, Andy Dufresne, played by Tim Robbins, is a banker who is convicted of a crime he did not commit.
Inside the prison, Andy faces the brutality of prison life, but maintains hope and uses his cunning to survive. He meets Red, played by Morgan Freeman, a seasoned inmate who becomes his friend and narrator of the story.
As the plot progresses, Andy earns the respect of his fellow inmates and the prison warden, Norton.
Using his financial skills, Andy becomes an important figure within the prison and performs a number of daring acts, including the creation of a library for the inmates.
But the highlight of the plot is Andy's escape plan.
Through years of dedication and patience, he manages to dig a secret tunnel and escapes from Shawshank on a rainy night.
It was directed by Frank Darabont, a director who also wrote the film's screenplay. Darabont is known for his work on adaptations of literary works, as "The Shawshank Redemption" is based on Stephen King's short story. He succeeded in capturing the bleak and oppressive atmosphere of Shawshank Prison,
The film was nominated for several major awards, including the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.
It won the Audience Award at the Toronto Film Festival and the Best Actor Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Morgan Freeman. It also received nominations in categories such as Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.
The film's budget was approximately $25 million. It was not a huge box office success upon its release in 1994.
However, over the years, it has become a cult film and has had considerable success in the DVD and Blu-ray market.
The Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 American drama film directed and written by Frank Darabont, starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. It is based on the 1982 novella "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" by Stephen King.
The film tells the story of Andy Dufresne, a young man who is sentenced to life in Shawshank State Penitentiary for the murder of his wife and her lover, despite his claims of innocence. While in prison, Andy befriends fellow inmate Ellis Boyce, who helps him adjust to life behind bars. Throughout the film, the two men develop a close friendship and work together to overcome the challenges and injustices of the prison system.
One of the standout performances in the film is Morgan Freeman as Ellis Boyce, whose wise and thoughtful presence provides a foil to Tim Robbins' Andy Dufresne. The film also features strong supporting performances from actors such as Bob Gunton and William Sadler.
The Shawshank Redemption is a beautifully crafted film that deals with themes of hope, friendship, and the human spirit. It is a poignant and moving tale of two men who find solace and purpose in each other while serving time in prison. The film's powerful themes, compelling performances, and excellent direction make it a classic of modern cinema.
One of the film's standout aspects is its ability to portray the prison system in a nuanced and realistic way. While it is certainly not a positive portrayal of the prison system, the film does not shy away from showing the humanity of the inmates and the ways in which the prison environment can bring out the best in some people while breaking down others. This is exemplified in the character arc of Andy Dufresne, who starts as a timid and withdrawn man, but through his friendship with Ellis and his determination, becomes a respected and influential figure within the prison.
Another strength of the film is its exceptional use of music. The film's score, composed by Thomas Newman, perfectly complements the mood and tone of the film, and the use of classic rock songs adds an extra layer of depth and emotion to the story.
Overall, The Shawshank Redemption is a must-see film for any movie fan. Its uplifting and inspiring message and superb acting and direction make it a timeless classic that continues to captivate audiences today. The film's realistic portrayal of the prison system, compelling character development, and excellent use of music all contribute to its enduring appeal and make it a true masterpiece of modern cinema.
Every one loves to be free, it hurt to lose this freedom but it is demoralizing when we are being convicted for a crime we know nothing about...
No matter what happens though, we must keep hoping because that is the best gift God gave to Mankind... There is no life without Hope...
I watched the movie SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and three plot got me...
1st scene
It tells the tale of a man who loves his wife but does not know how to show it, this made the wife cheat on him with someone who could offer what he lacks, unfortunately the wife and whom she was cheating with became a murder victim , the man lost his love but something worst happened, he was also charged for the murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment...A crime he didn't commit.... Such a badluck.....
Life in the prison was not that bad, it was hard at the beginning but then things changed, he made new friends and his smartness helped him secure a job with the warden, things were normal until a boy joined them in the prison...
He knew something that got him killed and that was the story of the man whose wife got killed, what he knew could have vindicated the man but the warden would not have it... Because the man was useful to him so he killed the boy and planned to keep the man at his side forever to keep carrying out his scam....
Second Plot
A prisoner who has been in the prison for many years was freed but he hated freedom! He is now used to the life in the four walls of the prison and he doesn't belong to the real world anymore, the only world he knew was the prison, setting him free is like pushing him into the den of the lions...
He was a man without hope, the real world looks strange to him, the world has evolved and the new things he is seeing only scares him more , he got sick of the job he secured and at the end, he committed suicide...
A man without hope
Last scene
A man with hope, some birds don't just deserved to be caged, even though he knew he was innocent there was nothing he could do to vindicate himself but he didn't give up on his life...
He dug a hole for 20 years in his cell meant to be his escape route, he didn't mind how long it was going to take him when he started it and when those he thinks he was helping decided to cage him forever for being good to them...
He knew it was time for him to leave and he did it but he didn't forget his good friend in the prison, he gave him a clue of where to find him incase he got freed someday....
He saved a life with that gesture because his clue gave the friend hope or else he would have committed suicide like the first old man who got freed....
Shawshank redemptionis a movie you should watch, there is a lot to learn from it, you won't regret the few hours you are going to spend in watching it... It is actually one of the best movie i have seen this year!

► What you loved about it
The acting perfoamnces are brilliant but the thing that is sharp as a knife is the script. The soucre material was from a Steven King book and they really turned it into something which just worked. It is both gripping and intriguing throughout and the story unfolds in a masterful way which a great score, script and key perfomances. How could you not love this film?
► How it influenced me
I am not sure how many times I have seen that film, maybe 10! One of the most memboarbale times was on a small isaland in a bar in Thailand whicle drinking cocktails....
► What part of it did you find most interesting.
The look at inncoence and isolation as well as the films take on incarceration is a fascinating drama and insight into prison life. Was Andy guilty? This leaves us with quite an exestential question about judgement and the justice system. His dignity throughout the film and the way it is played by Tim Robbins is a brilliant character study and holds your interest all the way through.
► Any scene that still pops into your mind.
There are lots of scenes in this film that stand out. The one that really stands out to me is the one where he plays some opera to the whole prision. Music that is so powerful that it stops everything and gives the every member of the prision time to reflect and have a rare moment of peace and freedom. We wish our music could do this....
► Performance of the actors/actress that left an impression.
Well Morgan freeman is genius in this film as is his voice over. Not bad from a white, red haired character.....The perfomances of all the cast are excellent. However Clancey Brown is allways a good watch and is great in this scene in particular!
► Why do you think it's significant and great.
This is defining film of the prison genre. Does it get better? All I know is that through out the film we were right there with Andy and when he finaly broke free for that moment we were free from our lives too.
The movie I will talk about today was released in 1994 starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Its name is "Dreams of Escape" based on a book by Stephen King, an author quite famous and recognized for his dramatic and dark style works, this is one of them titled with its original name in the book:Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption published in 1982.
The story tells the life of a man, Andy Dufrense, a banker who is sent to prison unjustly accused of murdering his wife and her lover, this film has become over the years in one of my list of favorite movies, the truth is that I have seen this movie more than a couple of times. The first time I saw it I thought it was a good movie.
This film has a sea of many emotions, drama, sadness, anger, injustice, in short, it is a film that teaches you how illogical life is and the need to be patient to gradually dig the life you have so desired, with the fear of not getting it. You identify with Andy due to the fact that you understand that he is a victim of a world that does not respect those who have a calm and patient behavior.
In my opinion, there are few things as strong as a sincere friendship, the pace of the movie is very entertaining and keeps you on your toes the whole time.
The story is about what humanly people who spend their whole life in prison lose, about the identity they have inside those 4 walls and not outside those bars, how hard, overwhelming and sad will be the life of a person who is in prison for months or even years and even more for the rest of his days without being able to feel what freedom means, to be able to share with family and loved ones.
Talking a bit about the story, Red is a character who has been in prison for 20 years and is denied parole time and time again, although they do frequent interviews, they interrogate them and ask if they feel ready to return to society, however, they deny that benefit to everyone, but it seems that they don't care, this Mr. Red is a man who illegally gets things out of prison, such as tobacco, cigarettes, gum and so on. While he is denied his freedom, Andy arrives at the prison along with many others and while some cry the first night for fear of the unknown, you can see that the guards, rather than maintaining order, seem to enjoy helping to generate chaos.
The scenes of mistreatment of the guards towards the inmates, are very strong because you can see how they beat them, the hardest part of going to a prison is not only being locked up, but also at the time of going out into society after spending a long time behind walls, most likely it is no longer a good option for some, as you would feel like a fish out of water.
Ten years have passed since Andy was locked up and Red is still denied parole and something that caught my attention is that as the years passed in prison, the characters were aging, changing their appearance to be more in line with what they were living, since spending many years in a situation like this affects in all areas including the physical. Andy worked in the library and even took the opportunity to teach reading and writing to some inmates, as time went by it was discovered that Andy was innocent, however, the prison director did not want him to get out, but he decided to escape and Red was granted parole, he met Andy because of clues that he had left before escaping from prison.
The plot in retrospect is quite simple, they lock up an innocent guy in prison where he lived horrifying moments, as well as moments of glory, because he became an accomplice of the director and helped him with the money laundering until everything was discovered. After years he manages to escape and manages to imprison the prison director.
What I liked about this film are those little moments that compose them, simple conversations that show us the personality of both prisoners and guards to more complex situations.
The story manages to capture a lot of attention by the right atmosphere, showing us characters with believable behavior and even seem real, I liked the evolution of Andy when he arrived in prison, it seemed that they were going to eat him alive and ended up adapting better than most, even improved the prison and gained prestige, then as a teaching tells us about hope and friendship. At the end of the tunnel there will always be a light, great movie that will never go out of style.
In all films, you find that there is something that attracts your attention in terms of events, artistic plot, distinguished acting performance, or even in the current films, such as wonderful graphics and visual effects, but in this film, which was released in 1994, there was something different in addition to all of this.
The story of the movie
The story of the film begins with the court and Andy Dufferin's imprisonment after he is accused of killing his wife. Another scene comes in which the counselors reject the innocence of Ellis Boyd 'Red'. From here, the events begin in the prison, which was teeming with defendants, most of whom were charged with life imprisonment.
After Andy Dufferin goes to prison, he meets Red, who he admires, and they become friends. It is common knowledge that a new prisoner is subject to humiliation and torture, and this is what happened with Andy's friend, who died after receiving blows from the warden.
But with all these events, we find that Andy gained a lot of friends and also gained respect from the prison director after he proved his intelligence in accounting, where he began laundering money for the prison director in exchange for getting a library in the prison to work in and getting more prison.
And then a new story begins of money laundering by Andy Dorfren in exchange for the suspicious actions of the prison director until Andy takes advantage of one of the rainy litters to escape out of the prison.
Although we have seen a lot of prison escape stories in movies and series, this movie is really special not because of the excellent acting performance, but because of the plot that only took us towards the escape at the beginning when Andy asked Red to bring him a hammer so that we all doubt It's a way to escape.
But like Reid's reaction, we were all frustrated when we saw a small hammer that was never fit to dig through walls and escape, and the film became a one-way street, work in prison and development, and without any hints about escaping.
In the end, we are surprised, just like the prison director, that Andy took years to dig a tunnel through that little hammer and escape out of the prison, and not only that he managed to deceive the director and stole all the money he had been collecting for him all those years.
The element of surprise that the director did at the end of the film is what amazed all viewers and what made the film an immortal icon over all those years.
›The Shawshank Redemption: Trust your guts@tahminasyed1699d
There are many movies in the cinema world that are quite inspiring and among them, one such is The Shawshank Redemption. The more you dive into it the more in-depth crisis you face. Such is the painful pleasure this movie makes one delve into.
If you are the type to venture into the darkness by taking risks and eventually lose yourself, this movie is for you. This movie will trigger and make you question yourself for the injustice taking over you. It will make you engulf it all and gather patience. It will make you realize that not everything can be achieved by having tremendous energy and anger. Time, patience, and strategic thinking will make one excel in a manner, not even the most powerful can last in front of that person.
Taking a peek into the movie
This life which is so deceiving encourages one to take revenge and make a move to enlighten our present. How many of us actually wait and watch for the future to take over and unfold the reality. How many of us actually believe in karma or fate? When life takes a toll on you, it is very easy to give up than take over while making our own reality. Trusting one's gut is not always an easy task. The protagonist suffers a lot but doesn't become short-tempered nor becomes desperate. Trusting one's guts can take you more into the future than one can actually imagine.
Desperateness was never the key, being literate was!
Once you are aware of your actions and accept the present but yearn to live the future, nothing can actually keep you bound. Such is the teaching of the movie. One may withdraw after watching the struggles the protagonist face. However, it is worthwhile to watch till the end. Once we give time some time, it returns us what we deserve. As long as we tend to stick to it, that is the limitation.
No power is powerful than knowledge. No matter how much money is being strategized to be the most powerful weapon, yet knowledge is the key. Without knowledge, nothing is more sufficient. Without knowledge, there is no money, no investment, no food, nothing. With knowledge opens all the doors and with mischief, doors are hidden. It is a very simple equation but very hard to grasp for many. This movie will illustrate the whole picture in one frame. I hope you all enjoy reading this and those of you who already watched, I hope you can relate and the ones who still didn't, you CAN give it a try. I will highly encourage eager writers to share their perspectives about this movie which may differ from my perspective and readers might get another glimpse of the same version but in a different light.
Please leave a comment behind by relating or opposing while sharing your perspective concerning "The Shawshank Redemption". Thank you for your time and energy.
Hello Community !!
Today I want to tell you about a movie that I just saw on Netflix, this movie already has its years, it is before Morgan Freeman became God, but it is very good, or at least it seemed to me. Great was my surprise when I learned that this film is an adaptation of a short novel by the master of terror, Stephen King, called "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption."
It all starts with Andy Dufresne, a senior bank executive who is charged and sentenced for the double murder of his wife and his lover, a golf instructor, for which he is sent to Shawshank State Prison to serve 2 chains. perpetual. The prison is run by a religious warden who only believes in the word of God and physical punishment, for which he turns a blind eye when his jailers brutally beat the prisoners.
Andy soon discovers that life in prison is quite harsh, from spoiled food to stalkers who try to abuse him, to guards who are bloodthirsty beasts who are only looking for an opportunity to beat him, but all is not lost, since meet Red, the prison smuggler who can get you just about anything you want, for a small fee.
The first request that Andy makes to Red is to get him a small rock hammer, a small gadget that geology lovers use to break and carve stones, since it is the only hobby, he will have during his years of life in prison. And so little by little Red and Andy forge a friendship with each other and with a group of inmates.
The film seemed excellent to me, since it reflects very well how rotten the system is, the lack of justice and the little interest that exists in reforming and rehabilitating the inmates; at the same time it has a strong message about friendship and perseverance and that everything can be achieved if you are smart enough and stick to the plan.
SYNOPSIS
In 1947, the vice president of a bank in Portland, is accused of murdering his wife and his lover when he found out that they were cheating on him, being punished with two life sentences in Shawshank State Prison. There, the accountant Andrew tries to go unnoticed, he does not want to disturb or make enemies, although he can make friends to make his stay more bearable, that will be taken care of by Red, a man who gets anything for an acceptable price, life in Shawshank will be different now.
OPINION
This movie is a classic, everyone can get to know it or at least hear about it, released in 1994, and some twenty-seven years since it came out and it can still impress for those who have not seen it. I must admit that I ignored it, I did not pay attention to it, I think those are the ones that make the most impact because I do not expect anything from them, I had not read anything or seen a trailer, but I had seen images and the occasional article about the film.
I can no longer count the times in a movie or series they refer to the Count of Monte Cristo and I still cannot suppose that something like that will happen, perhaps because I am clueless, perhaps I forget what the book is about, passing that detail on to me every time I hear it. I could say that it is boring now, but this movie was not released last night, it was more years than I have lived, so it could be the first to do it or at least one of the most relevant.
Andy's serenity was one of the things I liked about the movie, because he got to make plans, put them in motion, help others and still not feel overwhelmed or suffocated, one of the best characters I have ever seen, well acted and well written. The film is based on a short novel by Stephen King, I love when an idea can arise from another idea, it is like a source of endless creation, giving us more and more entertainment.
The film lasts an hour and fifty minutes, available on Netflix today, I came to underestimate it, ignore it, even believing that it would leave it half, but the truth is that it entertained me from beginning to end, coming to doubt my own deduction when not see things so simple at first, I definitely recommend it.

[ENG/ESP]Movie Review: The Shawshank Redemption/Reseña de Película: Sueños de Fuga (The Shawshank Redemption)
This dramatic film dates back to 1994, starring actors Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, based on Stephen King's novel Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, with seven Oscar nominations that year. It is a classic worth watching, in these times, from home. It is the example of the transcendence of a film through television channels and broadcasting in VHS format, which tripled and recovered its initial investment (over 20 million dollars) from a poor box office, being an example that a good film is not necessarily a guaranteed success, only in theaters.
I appreciated this work as a teenager in VHS format, at my brother's house in Barinas, when movies could be rented and the internet and Netflix had not yet shown signs of being born. At first, understanding the nature of a man who is unfairly judged for a crime he didn't commit, is what traps you into watching the rest of the film.
Everything centers around the character of Andy Dusfrenne, a smart and talented banker who is imprisoned for the murder of his wife. Likewise, the protagonist struggles with the helplessness of not being able to prove his innocence and adapt to prison life.
Despite being a fiction, it recreates the style of prisons in the United States between the 50s and late 60s of the last century, in which the inmates are not treated, in this case; as elements of social reintegration, but rather thanks to the efforts of Andy, they learn a little what is the human and vital reconstruction despite having committed a crime, where man from the "being" can pay their sentences and have a second chance to live again in society.
TRAILER (Yotube) "The Shawshank Redemption"
As people sometimes ignore, many things can happen in a prison: brawls, fights, injustices, corruption... as if living in a small nation. This penitentiary is led by a disreputable warden and aggressive custodial guards. It is a form of intrinsic government where social reform for good citizens, is in doubt; on the contrary; it is thought rather that people should be turned into human offal, and it is with this that the main character (Tim Robbins)We observe, the passing of the years as the days go by, and Andy tries to maintain that spirit of inner freedom, being surrounded by the confinement of the bars; having the opportunity to prove his innocence for a passionate murder and leaving us the impotence of that frustrated objective, for those who wish to escape; together with him, from that reformatory. We all share that nuance of "Dreams of Escape" In the background; we realize that we share the desire for a great escape.
We can note that Andy makes friends in a place where it is almost impossible because of the hostile territory, however; We can see that more personal approach of "Amistad Masculina" with Morgan Freeman's character, without the desire to believe that there is something more than a relationship of friends or as we say in Venezuela of "Panas" or "Hermanos"
The denouement is really surprising, with a twist that we all want to identify with Andy, it really is magical and involves the triumph of good over evil, which leaves us all speechless. This drama has well-developed and neat plots, as well as dialogues full of simple and understandable rhetoric. The actions are unpredictable but very satisfying in the face of an unfair judicial system for the innocent, and in this particular; it is a kind of personal revenge with the disorders and excesses of a corrupt, dirty and biased system.
The aerial camera shots are very impressive. The sound is very good and the image of photography and video correspond to the message of friendship, freedom and justice that we can observe in the minutes that correspond to this feature film. The appreciations that we have about this film are excellent, but in the end who decides whether it is good or not is the viewer, by the subjective nature of it. I recommend it and I hope everyone likes it. God bless you all. Until next time...

Soon Andy knows the evils of imprisonment and identifies as obstacles to the full freedom of him and the other companions ... the punishments are severe, the confinement was guaranteed by the walls, fences and guards, a total isolation in relation to society being sufficient to express the adversity of prisoners.
However, Director Warden introduces himself to new detainees as an administrator attached to discipline and his own understanding of the Bible, leaving everyone feeling intimidated. Just as the penitentiary residents themselves represent some kind of threat, causing tension in the youngest, where some groups protect their members and intimidate or attack other detainees is another practice carried out by the convicts who destabilize the confinement.
And whoever does not fit into some kind of groups eventually suffers the consequences and goes through serious problems, and as Andy does not fit into any group, he remains lonely being raped by the group of homosexuals, until Red approaches and he starts to be part of the group.
A long imprisoned period makes men create habits, experience and naturalize a routine that gives some regularity, some certainty to their lives, even if it is bad and adverse, there is still the feeling of collectivity and gives some strength to deal with the deprivation of life. freedom.
Red - the outgoing and crafty guy who smuggles objects into prison, enjoys some privileges and still establishes a rich friendship with Andy.
Andy, on the other hand, is the opposite of Red: silent, very cultured, observant, taciturn, sometimes cold and incompatible with the prison where he is.
“A Dream of Freedom” is a beautiful cinematic experience about man's struggle for hope and freedom, even in the midst of injustices and oppression in the prison system. This film shows how the drama emerges from a man's struggle against the physical and symbolic prisons that rise around him and inside him. The film "A dream of freedom" conveys a message, directly or indirectly, in which optimism takes center stage.
A film with great doses of optimism, equally hard and intense.

# Official Trailer
Go to Shawshank Prison
Andy Dufrein (Tim Robbins), Deputy Manager of the Best Bank
He is accused of murdering his wife and his wife's lover.
He was right that he fought with his wife that night, but he was drunk and he couldn't remember anything.
Eventually, he was sentenced to two life sentences for killing two people.
So imprisoned in the notorious Shawshank Prison.
Prisoners are not treated as human beings because Shawshank prisons are mainly about the imprisonment of violent criminals. They were more likely to be killed.
Life at Shawshank Prison was never easy.
Hard labor and sexual abuse from inmates could be mentally disrupted.
But Andy (Tim Robbins)'s face was always expressionless and always thinking about something.
Meeting with Red
And in the Shawshank Prison, there was an old prisoner named Red (Morgan Freeman) who could get anything from prison
He killed people in his teenage years, and he's been living in the Shawshank until now
Red gets a crush on Andy.
The first impression of something seemed weak, but it seems that he was holding on well and looked pitiful.
Andy asks Red to get him a rock sculpting hammer.
He said he was going to make a chess piece out of stone.
So Andy spends his time making chess pieces.
Carving at night and throwing stone dust on the playground during the day.
Andy's ability
One day Andy overhears the story of prison guards while working.
It was said that the prison guards' family died and they received an inheritance for him, but he said he didn't want to pay too much tax.
Listening to this, Andy walks up to them and tells them that he has a way to avoid paying taxes.
Instead, he asks his fellow prisoners to serve him very cold beer.
At first, even the guards didn't believe, but the guard who knew his history commissioned him to work, and eventually fellow prisoners tasted cold beer after labor.
I think it was the coolest beer in the world
Andy smiles proudly when he sees it.
Rumors spread among prison guards.
After that, the guards lined up and started asking Andy to ask for accounting.
Eventually the story became known to the prison chief.
Andy was assigned the accountancy of the prison chief.
The prison chief was taking bribes and mobilizing the prisoners' free labor.
Andy is mainly involved in money laundering.
Create a fictional character for money laundering.
So Andy's prison life improves.
Andy gets some strength and works for the prisoners.
Andy consistently writes to the federal government to more than double the grants for prison libraries and improve the environment to create a wonderful library where you can read books and listen to music.
Thanks to that, fellow prisoners were able to listen to music and study.
Brooks' death
Over time, Brooks, a librarian, was released on parole.
He's been here on Shawshank since he was a kid, and he's a respected person here, but he's an old man who can't do anything outside.
In the end, within a few days, he ended his life with the words “Brooks was here” inscribed on the pillars of the house.
It was a big shock to the prison colleagues.
Andy is innocent
Then, 19 years later, a young prisoner named Tommy Williams came in.
He went to jail several times, but this time the situation was a little different.
Because he girlfriend is pregnant.
Tommy, who couldn't live like this anymore, visits Andy.
And ask for help to pass the GED.
It wasn't good at first, but Andy teaches us really enthusiastically about Tommy's hard work.
Then Tommy wondered why someone like Andy was in jail.
Tommy was amazed to hear from Red that he killed his wife and his lover 19 years ago.
Because in the previous prison, a prisoner told the case that he was the real culprit, and instead the husband of a banker was arrested.
Andy, who knows this, runs to the prison warden right away.
He said he was innocent and asked for help so he could get out.
And he said he would not say a word about the corruption of the prison warden...
But to the prison warden, Andy was already a slave he couldn't let go of.
Put Andy in solitary confinement.
Andy, in solitary room, sheds tears of joy when he hears that Tommy has passed the GED.
But the prison warden kills Tommy brutally.
Andy's Escape
Andy, who came back like that, seems to have decided on something.
Going to his best friend Red (Morgan Freeman), he said he wanted to spend the rest of his life on his own boat by going to a place called'Jihu Atane.'
And when Red comes out on parole, he asks him to go to the place he proposed to his wife and find the obsidian block under the stone wall.
And I ask you to take out what is underneath
Red (Morgan Freeman) is worried about what his friend Andy (Tim Robbins) says very meaningfully.
Red can't sleep well with the ominous feeling that something really will happen that night.
And the day is bright and the morning call starts.
Andy doesn't come out
The angry guard goes to Andy's room.
But there was no one in the room
Where did you go all night?
When everyone was surprised and embarrassed, the prison chief threw a chess piece at the poster of the actress on the wall of Andy's room.
Instead of hitting the wall, Tinggi made a sound that went deep through the wall.
reversal
Andy broke the wall with a hammer for 19 years.
It was also a piece of stone that broke through the wall when the stone was thrown away during the day.
Everyone thought Andy was enjoying a comfortable prison life, but Andy had never thought of staying in Shawshank for a moment and was always dreaming of freedom.
By going through a dirty sewer, Andy became a free man.
A man appears in the bank while the prison chief and guards are in Andy's room.
He only existed on paper until yesterday, but came in search of the prison chief's laundered money.
It was Andy.
Then, he handed over the documents containing the corruption of the prison warden to the newspaper, and left for Jihu Atane.
That's how time has passed, and the prison has regained peace, but Red misses him because he has no friend Andy
The day Red's parole was judged, he had no intention of leaving prison.
So Rad said,
"Cultivation? It's all a lie. It's just like politicians. It's like a word you use to give jobs to people in suits like you.
But there are no days when I never felt regret.
Not because you compelled you to do that, but where the stupid little guy who committed the horrible sins of the old days goes, only the old, powerless old prisoner remains.
Stop taking my time and hurry up and get an ineligible stamp"
Life is ironically, just as you get it when you give up greed, Red gets unwanted parole.
He pays in the store like Brooks, but he can't do anything right.
He was a social misfit who couldn’t even go to the bathroom without permission.
That's how he understand Brooks' situation.
But I remembered my appointment with my friend Andy.
He breaks the law that he must not leave the parole area and goes to the place as Andy suggested.
No police officers care anyway.
# Encounter with true freedom
I find Andy's letter where he arrived.
" Remember. 'Red' Hope is good .
Maybe it's the best one .
Things that are so good never disappear .
I need a friend to repair the ship at Jihuatane.
I'll be waiting.
I hope this letter finds you
Hoping to be healthy
Your friend Andy "
Red engraves letters next to the letters Brooks engraved.
Red was here too
And He's leaving to meet Andy
A trip to meet a friend
I think it's a joy that only free people can feel
A free person on a long journey of hope
" I hope that I can safely cross the border.
I hope to meet my friend and give a warm handshake.
I hope the Pacific Ocean is as blue as in my dreams.
Red "
And Red meets his nostalgic friend Andy and shakes hands.
Last Review
I think I always feel the same emotion even after time passes
It seems like that for humans, freedom is transcending generations.
In the middle, a prisoner named Brooks commits suicide after parole.
When a person who is valued in the world of prisons feels useless in society, the frustration seems to be really scary.
Brooks wasn't crazy, he was tamed.
Saying to be tamed
In a way, it's about being comfortable with the current situation and feeling happy in it, but I think it's a really scary word.
Man is the subject of pioneering his life as a man.
That's why it seems that people who have lost their freedom and have been tamed will no longer be able to accept a new life.
The opposite of that, the subjective life is shown through Andy.
Andy, who always craves freedom and has laid a wall for freedom for 19 years.
Because he was such Andy, he could have achieved his dream.
While reviewing, thinking about the last scene of Red going to meet Andy, I think it’s a touching feeling.
A masterpiece of masterpieces
A must-see movie before you die
It was the movie 'The Shawshank Redemption'.
Hope you don't get tamed in the current situation.
›The Shawshank Redemption (1994)- Hope keeps us alive.@minhajulmredol1943d
This is my first post on this Cinetv platform. Well many many best wishes for this initiative. It will undoubtedly quench the thirst for many cinema lovers and we would also get to see the contents about cinema in a place. So let's start with my very first post here about a very popular movie I watched last night.
Andy Dufresne who is a banker got allegations for murdering his wife and her lover. We got to see him sitting in the car with a gun next to the house where the murder took place. He was sentenced to two consecutive life imprisonment. He was sent to the shawshank prison where we get to see some narration by red who is also sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.
The first man and talked with was red, because red was like a smuggler who can get anything inside the jail from the outside and andy asked for a rock hammer. Red was shocked by such demand because that was not an usual call. Red thought andy would dig a tunnel and try to escape from the jail with the hammer but when he saw its size (a tiny rock hammer) he imagined 600 years to dig a tunnel with it.
Andy was the victim of sexual molestation, every today or tomorrow he would show up with new wounds. Times were passing on by this way. Andy was being close with red, for a rooftop construction work red managed to select his own friends to get some sight of the outside world. There andy did help an officer in savings tax at his 34000$ and for that he asked beers for his friends and they enjoyed drinking like a free man.
Andy was appointed at the library with Brook for work out of the laundry. Gradually andy started to help the others with financial advice and became quite popular among themselves and the main thing was the warden would make his financial account who would polish his illegal earned money as the polish ones.
Brook has got freedom on parole but he doesn’t want that. What would a man do in the outside world which he left 50 years back. He was so frustrated with this that he put a knife on someone's throat to end up in prison again. He got out of jail and couldn’t keep pace with the advanced world.
For red "Hope is a dangerous thing, Hopes can drive a man insane." For me this is the most important lesson from this one. Hope, for someone it's dangerous to have it and the other one living for it.
There came a prisoner named tommy, whom Andy taught education and passed his high school. He narrated a story of his previous imprisonment where he met with a thieve who killed the owner of a house who was with his lover and a high shot banker got sentenced for that, yes based on his story andy was innocent and that's the story. Warden ignored it and put andy in the solitary cell for months.
Later when he came out of that dark cell he got to know that tommy was dead because he tried to escape, really he tried to escape or was killed? Tommy was the evidence who could prove him not guilty by his testimony.
Andy did express his hope to red on that day. He expressed his desire to go to the Pacific beach in Mexico, start a hotel and repair the boats to go to the blue ocean. Andy even took a promise that if any day he gets freedom he would go for a place where andy first proposed his wife for marriage because something is there for red. What was that andy didn’t revealed.
Red was tensed on that day after andy's such conversations.Even Andy took a 6 feet rope on that day for him. They were afraid that he doesn’t end up giving up on his life. That was a very long night for red on thinking about Andy. On the next morning for the daily routine everyone came out except Andy. No andy didn’t come out on that day. What happened to him? Did he lose his hope of a blue ocean in Mexico?
After this the most amazing part begins, which i would like to keep for yourself to explore on your own.
[A screenshot from the movie.]
In the end i wanna say, "Hopes are not bad, they can keep us alive and show the beauty of life. Never lose your hope."
Well this movie may already be seen by most of you, it's regarded as the top movies of all time. If you haven’t watched till now, just start. I bet you won't regret watching this. That's one of my favourite movies. Happy Watching!
›Shawshank, of the best films of all time, finally comes to Netflix@netflixr2329d
I don't know what took them so long but Netflix finally added what I consider to be one of the best films ever made to their library in March of 2020.
I don't know if it is anymore but there was a period of many years where this films was rated number 1 on IMDB and while I don't know if it is the best film ever made, it certainly is one of the best. This movie is perfect in every way. The cast of Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman as well as their supporting cast where everyone is exactly who they need to be for the role.
I'm not going to spoil the story for anyone but basically Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to prison for a crime that he did not commit and he isn't exactly the type of person that is well-suited for jail life. He does manage to fit in with a crowd of sorts after a while and the friendships he builds, primarily with "Red" (Morgan Freeman) is particularly touching.
The story takes a lot of twists and turns that you don't really see coming for an American film and despite the fact that I do enjoy a lot of Stephen King's horror stories, I think its the dramas where his ideas come together for the big screen the best. I say this about The Green Mile as well. Neither one of the films have any aspect of horror to them, yet they are the best work by King in my book.
Even if you do already know the story and like me, have seen the film many times, this movie is one of those rarities that is very worth watching again and again. I plan on watching is again this afternoon.
I've never met anyone that didn't absolutely love this film and it is yet another fantastic film where Morgan Freeman's narration really adds to the overall feel of the movie.
If you are one of the few people out there that somehow managed to miss this 1994 masterpiece I say fire up the ol' Netflix immediately and put this on because you are in for a real treat.
A great classic that any film lover will surely have seen, in the rare case you haven't, I strongly advise you to do not read this article and I recommend to watch this film, then, come back to read this post, because you've missed one of the most exciting movies I've ever seen.
Andy Dufresneis forced to a double life sentence accused of killing his wife and her lover.
It's 1947, the prisons are anything but hospitable, the one where main character will be locked up is one of these. Shawshank is gloomy, dark and evil as few others, starting from his warden finishing with the last guard just arrived. No mercy is shown to the prisoners that they adapt themselves by using unfriendly conduct with their jailers.
Another crucial character is Red, he is the one who, due to a modest price increase, manages to get anything, or almost, into the prison. Andy, closed in on himself, after months of abuse suffered by some prisoners, decides to open up with the prison merchant, asking to bring him a small hammer to cultivate his innate passion: sculpting stones to compose chessboard pieces.
Red is initially suspicious in this regard, but by thinking again changes is mind as he's convinced that nobody can succeed in the task of escaping with such a small object. From that moment a great friendship born between the two and they also form a sort of gang with few other prisoners.
Andy will even be able to get his new friends a beer, thanks to some financial advice given to the structure head of security, he is consequently taken a liking by the guards and will come to fill out the taxes forms even of the director.
Nothing lasts forever, soon thanks his partial behavior over the lines, will lose all the privileges that he had managed to achieve.
But he rolls up his sleeves and after being "promoted" to librarian, he manages to expand the library, after years of insistence thanks to the letters sent every week to the competent department to have the possibility to bring a considerable number of books inside it.
After this exploit he will meet a boy and help him get his diploma, but there's more, the newcomer claims he can help him prove his innocence.
When the young man was in a previous prison, another inmate would have confessed him that he had killed a couple of lovers and that the poor husband had ended up in jail in his place, and the latter must be Andy.
The warden turns out to be more than ruthless, after hearing the story, condemns the poor librarian to isolation for months. Once out of the "hole", prey to the exasperation of decades unjustly caged, he decides to escape, thanks to that small and apparently innocent hammer, but above all thanks to Rita Hayworth.
Beautiful, engaging and touching, the story of an innocent man forced to spend a large part of his life in captivity and then escape abroad to find a friend he did not want to lose, even though their friendship was born in one of the less welcoming places of the earth.
Based on a Stephen King's novel and inspired by a true story, this film launched its director Frank Darabont, who will direct The Green Mile, an absolute masterpiece that make inroads inside millions viewers heart and also confirming the excellent acting skills of Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.
›Shawshank Redemption was a box-office flop@gooddream2638d
It is difficult to imagine that what is routinely rated as one of the best films ever made (IMDB has it at #1 based on user reviews) failed to even get close to recouping its budget but this is a fact.
Over the years it has, no doubt, gotten that money back many times over but I was shocked to find out that the total box office numbers were $9 million under the overall film budget and some other sites rate it as having just barely broken even.
If you somehow managed to have not seen this movie by now you need to do so ASAP. I know I recommend a LOT of movies on here, but if there was a category above "Wowsers!" there would only be a handful of films on it and this would be one of them.
This film is so abundantly awesome that I can say that everything about it is just perfect. The choice in actors, the story, how the story stays interesting and keeps moving, the musical score, and the twists are absolutely spot on. I think that this film might be perfect.
It was nominated for a bunch of awards and didn't win any of them. I believe this press enabled the studios to make a bunch of their money back but even after DVD sales and what not the film only grossed around $90 million, and this was years later.
In Shawshank, Morgan Freeman established himself as the perfect narrator as well. Unless I am mistaken, I don't think this happened before this film. He is continually asked to do narration work, but he declines a vast majority of it unless it is done in jest such as on a late-night variety show.
I started thinking about this because I have become a bit frustrated about what it is that ends up being a box-office hit these days. It seems that every film that makes a crap-ton of money is almost exclusively a superhero film that is all-but-completely devoid of actual substance. Shawshank is filled with beautiful cinematography, a compelling story about the human condition, as well as perfectly cast villains and heroes and I wonder if such a wonderful film would also be generally ignored in today's entertainment times.
This isn't really a review so much as it was a real shock to me to learn that what is largely considered to be one of the best movies ever made, actually lost money initially. To be fair The Wizard of Oz was a box office flop also. :)
Saludos!
›Shawshank Redemption: Number one for a reason100@gooddream2963d
This has been the number one movie on IMDB for as long as I have been checking that list; and I think there are a number of very solid reasons for this. I have to admit that to certain degree I am affected by the global opine that it is the perfect film and in many ways I agree with that. There is a reason, afterall, that it is pretty universally agreed that Morgan Freeman is the perfect narrator.
The star of the film isn’t Morgan Freeman, as you may well know. It is Tim Robbins, who gives about as epic a performance as can be expected of a person in a film in Shawshank. He plays Andy Dufresne, a wrongfully accused and sentenced to life-in-prison inmate who ends up, over time, befriending Morgan Freeman’s character, Red.
Because Andy was a banker in his free life, he quickly becomes a very sought-after inmate by both fellow inmates and also the prison-guards and the warden. This relationship with the staff results in him being the brains behind a money-laundering scheme that the warden has set up to use free prison labor to perform various construction projects for a massive profit. It also seals Andy’s fate as a prisoner that will never be let go because of his connection with the illegal projects that are lead by the warden. It is discovered at one point there is information out there that can lead to Andy’s exoneration, but rather than allow this information come to light, the warden does whatever it takes to keep Andy in jail, and keep the illegal projects both running and underground.
I have probably already spoiled too much of the film for those of you that haven’t seen it but really, you honestly must see this movie as it is truly wonderful to experience. As you may know I am a major nay-sayer when it comes to Hollywood but this film is truly magical. It is just wonderful.
I don’t dole this out frequently but I give Shawshank a perfect score because I agree with the internet community when I say that this is without question, one of the best films ever made.
›MOVIE REVIEW | The Shawshank Redemption. 1994@aydogdy2995d
Not so easy to write about the film that's the level; about the film in all the top list occupies the first place; the film, which is my age, and thus the opportunity to evaluate it, to Express his opinion, was already one generation. This is a large-scale film, probably, for a billion pictures released by film studios for the time of the history of cinema, there is only one such, giving any viewer food for thought for many days to come.
Although, if you think about it, its plot is hardly convoluted (if you compare it with many films under the "Run..." in the ratings). What, then cling this masterpiece? The fact that we are constantly talking about exactly that close to anyone. Yes, not on such a scale, but fear and freedom, despair and hope — they are familiar to everyone. But just the same exaggeration of the scale of related issues leads to finding motivation after watching the movie, because if Andy has broken through several meters of stone walls, crawled through miles of sewer pipe, and within twenty years of being in horrible conditions and did not give up, what could be so terrible in the life of a normal, legally a free man?
But in General, Andy Dufresne, a man were not normal. At liberty, he held a responsible post in the Bank has always been honest and decent, loved his wife, until he was accused in the brutal massacre of her and her lover. He, of course, was a direct intention, was the ability, and the statistics in most of these cases the fault of the husband, so the judiciary simply took the path of least resistance, accusing it in all respects a decent person in that monstrous act. However, as a man talented, Dufresne found the use of their capacities even in jail, throughout his twenty-year tenure he constantly handled such things, which has been going on favor of as him, so and the rest of the prisoners.
Moreover, as for those prisoners. Of course, they call themselves innocent and everything, but we understand that, perhaps, prior to his falling into Shawshank, these people have done terrible things. Nevertheless, you do not feel any hostility towards them, on the contrary, they are the same people, people are cheerful and cheerful, sometimes much more principled and open than most people are free. You get used to them, you sympathize with them, and you believe them.
The undoubted advantage of the film is the consistent development of several storylines, which, in fact, in any case, lead us to the same topic of hope, but make as if to look at it from different angles. That's great. For example, the despair of Brix, who was released from prison after fifty years? Incomparably talented Morgan Freeman introduces in connection with his situation, the concept of "prison person", perhaps, in this light, we can talk not only about the person being imprisoned, but in General about the habituation of people to certain conditions and their inability to change into other conditions, even the best. It is also worth mentioning the storyline associated with Tommy, a young boy who became a casual victim of the fight against arbitrariness in this prison.
In the context of this film, perhaps, can be called synonymous with the words prison and despair, because in the understanding of the usual, free from this kind of responsibility, prison can be anything. Any hopeless situation in life everyone can become his personal prison, and there is need to decide for yourself what is closer: to break through the wall, like Andy or realize his guilt as Red.

It is a great film that has to be watched really, it is a great film made up to now, but I would suggest you watch a work that touches on a very beautiful point and sincerely explains loyalty, even though it is an old film. Have a nice watch...
Though this movie is the one that created the point debate at first, It's a film that has been preserved for years.
It is a production to be watched and watched as some lessons of the people of slavery are to be taken. Dufresne, a young rich man, will be sentenced to life imprisonment for the crime of killing her beloved woman. It is a place where all kinds of bad guys are in prison and a crime is committed. But he will never give up being a gullied face from the belief that it is a dream. His attitude will make a positive impact on other bad guys and change their point of view.
›THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION [Darabont 1994] - movie review by Mandibil80@mandibil3609d
An adaptation of a book for film, is not the easiest task. Firstly, popular books have already created a story in peoples heads, that they usually want to have confirmed. Secondly, the transformation to the film medium, can be a difficult task, without leaving important parts out or adding new things to conform to the new medium. This one is an adaptation of a Stephen King book. I have not read any of his books, i am not that much for fiction books anyway. But it seems that his way of structuring plot and story, conforms well to movie adaptations, since a long list of his novels have been made into movies. This prison story takes us into a world, that is like a small, twisted sub-world, within our human race, that is equally fascinating and repulsive.
An introvert banker, Andy Dufresne, is convicted of murdering his wife, and put in Shawshank prison. At first he keeps a low profile, to avoid getting into trouble. He is continually being raped by a group of sociopathic inmates for a time, but does not do anything about it. He opens up to Red, a black inmate, who runs the local "black market". They slowly become friends and Red fixes Andy up with a few items, like a rockhammer and a poster of Rita Hayworth. After a couple of years, Andy offers to help a guard with his taxes, and he quickly ends up helping out pretty much everyone in the prison, including the Warden. Andy gets some liberties, like running the small library and doing accounting for the Warden and getting protection from rapists from the guards. When a new inmate arrives years later, who has witness evidence, that can acquit Andy from his sentence, things start rolling. The warden is not interested in letting Andy go, because he needs him. But Andy has a plan that takes everybody by surprise.
Morgan Freeman is perfectly cast as Red, who the story is told through. Tim Robbins is also a perfect match for the sensitive, but secretive Andy. The two of them together takes this movie to another level. It is a tale about an unlikely friendship, that would not have occurred outside the confines of prison. It is a tale about how to stay sane in an insane and inhumane environment. It is a tale about the destruction of human souls and making them unable to deal with the society, they are kept away from. It is a tale about the sadism and sociopathy of those who run such institutions, for their own gains and selfish pleasures. It is a tale about revenge over those who hurt and use you and freedom from control and exploitation. Everything is perfectly but gently balanced out over the course of the film, which is a rare treat. All the while the plot keeps moving forward in steady but surprising ways, that keeps you tied to your chair all the way.
This is in many ways a masterpiece of storytelling. A masterclass of how things are supposed to be arranged and paced, to make the most of the story and the plot. It gets a lot of credit for that. In my book i looses a bit on the emotional side and it does not have enough artistic balls. It walks the line of being a bit too much on the feel good side, and too little on the tough side. It is no secret that this movie has been a consistent #1 on the IMDB top 250 movies list for years. I guess this is because it succeeds so well at balancing all these stories into one, without pissing any kind of moviegoer off. And this is its only weakness. The ending is just too nice and cozy for my taste, and that is a bit of a shame. There is nothing about it that sticks out or provokes me. It is just too "perfect".
