Hello movie and superhero lovers. Today I bring you another Marvel Studios movie, which curiously is also part of the "Marvel Extended Cinematic Universe", being this its second movie. Reviving one of the most powerful and well-known characters in the world of comics, this version of the Hulk is, without a doubt, one of the best in existence. Directed by Louis Leterrier and starring the talented Edward Norton, this film was distributed by Universal Pictures and praised by critics and audiences alike due to the excellent work done on the visual and sound effects. Unfortunately, the vision of the green giant was subsequently redesigned and Ruffalo took over for the character's subsequent appearances in the rest of the UMC.

Plot
The film introduces us to Bruce Banner, a scientist who participated in a military experiment that plans to immunize humans with gamma rays. The experiment is conducted by General Thunderbolt Ross, the father of Bruce's girlfriend, who was also part of the team of scientists. After an accident, Dr. Banner is involved as a test character and receives the rays, which turns him into a giant green creature, later losing control and destroying everything around him.
Although those involved survive this incident, Dr. Banner is now wanted by the military exercise to capture him, considering him a "danger to humanity". Looking for a way to eliminate the gamma radiation from his body, which created the creature he calls "Hulk", he travels around the world in search of a cure. However, a great danger lurks, while he tries not to lose control and become a green giant again.

While it is true when I said that this is one of the best versions I have seen of the "Hulk" in movies, its predecessor is undoubtedly the one that earns the first place in my personal list, to be honest. However, we should not detract from the incredible work done by actor Edward Norton in this film, playing a somewhat reserved, sad and dark Bruce Banner. The same can be said of the green giant, which is his darkest and rawest version of all those that exist so far. And let's not forget about the special effects and the tremendous CGI that the movie has, despite being almost 20 years old, it preserves very well a quality that is even enviable today.
The story is not something new that we don't know about the origin of this popular hero who, personally, I don't know if I should call him a "hero" per se, since he is literally a beast that only stands out for his greenish color and his incredible destructive power. It's no wonder that in most of the movie Bruce is seen destroying everything or facing military armed with equipment taken from Stark Industries (clear reference to the Iron Man movie and its connection to that universe). But, in the end, he redeems his honor as a hero by defeating "Abomination".

Si bien es cierto cuando dije que esta es de las mejores versiones que he visto de “Hulk” en películas, sin lugar a dudas su predecesora es la que se gana el primer puesto en mi lista personal, la verdad. Sin embargo, no hay que restarle valor al increíble trabajo que realizó el actor Edward Norton en esta cinta, al interpretar a un Bruce Banner un tanto reservado, triste y oscuro. Lo mismo se puede mencionar del gigante verde, el cual es su versión más oscura y cruda de todas las que existen hasta ahora. Y no nos olvidemos de los efectos especiales y el tremendo CGI que tiene la película que, a pesar de ser de hace casi 20 años, se conserva muy bien una calidad que es hasta envidiable hoy en día.
La historia no es algo nuevo que no conozcamos del origen de este popular héroe que, personalmente, no sé si llamarlo “héroe” en sí ya que es literalmente una bestia que únicamente se destaca por su color verdoso y por su increíble poder destructivo. No es de extrañar que en la mayor parte de la película se ve a Bruce convertido destrozando todo o enfrentándose a militares armados con equipos que sacaron de Stark Industries (clara referencia a la película de Iron Man y su conexión con dicho universo). Pero, al final, este redime su honor como héroe al vencer a “Abomination”.

As for the other characters, one or two stand out, all of whom play a very well-done role, but nothing that makes them stand out so much in the end. The origin of "Abomination", for example, is one of those typical villains who seek power in order to defeat the typical hero that everyone is talking about. This being his goal to surpass the Hulk, he puts his life and health at risk to achieve superhuman strength that deforms him in a horrible way. Regarding this, I want to highlight the incredible job they did in animating and recreating a raw and dark version of both the hero and the villain.
Finally, I want to highlight the visual effects, once again, as this is an excellent job in terms of motion capture techniques combined with computer visual effects. The soundtrack, on the other hand, is incredible as well, giving it that heavy feeling that generates the very dark tone that the film possesses. A spectacular way of demonstrating the Hulk's awesome power and trapping the viewer with visuals and background sound that makes you live in the moment. While the film lacks a bit of originality in terms of some of the supporting characters and the story itself, it is enjoyable to watch this film and enjoy the uncontrollable power of the green giant.
Personally, I give it an 8/10 rating as far as the superhero/action/sci-fi genre is concerned.

Con respecto a los demás personajes, se puede destacar a uno que otro, los cuales hacen un papel muy bien hecho, pero nada que los destaque tanto al final. El origen de “Abomination”, por ejemplo, es uno de esos típicos villanos que buscan poder para así vencer al típico héroe del cual todo el mundo está hablando. Siendo este su objetivo superar a Hulk, pone en riesgo su vida y salud para conseguir una fuerza sobrehumana que lo deforma de una manera horrible. En cuanto a esto, quiero destacar el increíble trabajo que hicieron al animar y recrear una versión cruda y oscura tanto del héroe como del villano.
Por último, quiero destacar los efectos visuales, una vez más, ya que este es un excelente trabajo en cuanto a técnicas de captura de movimiento combinado con efectos visuales hechos a computadora. La banda sonora, por otro lado, es increíble también, dándole esa sensación pesada que genera el tono tan oscuro que posee la película. Una forma espectacular de demostrar el increíble poder de Hulk y de atrapar así al espectador con visuales y un sonido de fondo que te hace vivir el momento. Si bien la película carece un poco de originalidad en cuanto a algunos personajes secundarios y a la historia en sí, es agradable ver esta cinta y disfrutar del poder incontrolable del gigante verde.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8/10 en lo que respecta al género de superhéroes, acción y ciencia ficción.
