   Greetings, today I am also sharing with you again, I was in need of some entertainment and this series appeared, besides that I recently subscribed to Prime Video and I was able to explore different options for series and movies that I did not know existed. That's basically how this one came about.

   The Peripheral is a Science Fiction series focused on a female character, we are talking about Flynne Fisher played by Chloë Grace Moretz. I don't know exactly how to describe this series because I believe that a series of events that happen to the family come to alter reality, not exactly like that, take them to the future but not in the way we think.

   Saludos, hoy también estoy compartiendo nuevamente con ustedes, estaba necesitando de un poco de entretenimiento y esta serie apareció, además de que recientemente me subscribí a Prime Video y pude explorar diferentes opciones de series y películas que no sabía que existían. Básicamente así fue cómo apareció esta.

   The Peripheral es una serie de Ciencia Ficción enfocado en un personaje femenino, hablamos de Flynne Fisher interpretado por Chloë Grace Moretz. No sé exactamente cómo describir esta serie porque creo que una serie de eventos que le suceden a la familia llegan al alterar la realidad, no exactamente así, los llevan al futuro pero no en la forma que creemos.

   Un día su hermano recibe una oferta para probar un nuevo juego de una supuesta empresa colombiana, es una pieza que va en la cabeza (headset), pero esto era a otro nivel de juego. De hecho, le enviaron esto porque creían que realmente se trataba de él jugando pero realmente era para su hermana, ellos querían eran esas habilidades, él de antemano sabía esto por lo que le pidió a su hermana que fuera la primera en probarlo y desde ahí, la realidad se empieza a confundir y mezclar.

   From the first moment Flynne puts on that headset, you can tell that her whole world has moved, it's like giving a taste of paradise, something you didn't know could ever happen to you. She starts with a mission that really wasn't simple at all, plus Flynne is supposed to be playing and giving her full potential, but what seems like a simple mission turns into horrible scenes. Sorry Flynne but your luck didn't last that long.

   What started as a game ended up being a challenging experience within a Peripheral. You will wonder what is this? The Peripheral is a kind of space where a robot exists and you can enter that body, and it automatically becomes your clone. The craziest thing about it is that you can feel even the smallest thing, as if it were your real body

   Desde el primer instante que Flynne se coloca ese headset se nota que todo su mundo se movió, es como darle una probada al paraíso, algo que no sabías que te podía pasar jamás. Empieza con una misión que realmente no era nada simple, además de que Flynne se supone que está jugando y da todo su potencial, pero lo que parece una simple misión se convierte en una horrible escenas. Lo siento Flynne pero tu suerte no duró tanto.

   Lo que empezó como un juego terminó siendo una experiencia desafiante dentro de una periferia. Te preguntarás ¿qué es esto? La periferia es una especie de espacio donde existe un robot y tú puedes entrar en ese cuerpo, y automáticamente se convierte en tu clon. Lo más loco de todo es que puedes sentir hasta lo más mínimo, como si fuera tu cuerpo real.

   Flynne must face many challenges within the Peripheral, eventually everything starts to get complicated, she has to be very careful because there are enemies everywhere, who are willing to hunt Flynne even in her real world.

   Flynne debe enfrentar muchos desafíos dentro de la periferia, eventualmente todo se empieza a complicar, hay que tener mucho cuidado porque hay enemigos por doquier, que están dispuestos a cazar a Flynne hasta en su mundo real.

   I finished watching this series and I can tell you that the beginning is quite promising but then it becomes a bit weak, in addition to the fact that at the end they make it a bit unreal despite the fact that the entire environment of the series is unreal but I feel that it bordered on that limit. I was hoping to see a second season because I was interested in seeing how the story continued but this month they announced that the second season would be cancelled. What a shame to waste so many resources to not give it a closure.

   Terminé de ver esta serie y puedo comentarles que el inicio es bastante prometedor pero luego se torna un poco flojo, además de que al final lo hacen un poco irreal a pesar de que todo el entorno de la serie es irreal pero siento que rozó bastante ese límite. Esperaba ver una segunda temporada porque me interesaba ver como continuaba la historia pero en este mes anunciaron que sería cancelada la segunda temporada. Qué pena malgastar tantos recursos para no darle un cierre.

   La última reseña hecha fue de una película en Amazon Prime por lo que decidí a quedarme en esa plataforma y ver que había de nuevo en ella y oh vaya sorpresa me encontré. The Peripheral es una nueva serie que está dando mucho de que hablar protagonizada por Chloë Grace Moretz, honestamente no sabía que me iba a encontrar porque no había escuchado de ella así que sin pensarlo me lancé al vacío y me dispuse a ver el primer capitulo, tengo que decir que bastó y sobró esos primeros sesenta minutos para que la historia me pareciera super interesante, llena de intriga pero sobre todo de algo inexplicable ya que esa es la sensación que te queda cuando lo terminas, de no saber que ha pasado y que sin dudas quieres descubrirlo.

   The last review I did was of a movie on Amazon Prime so I decided to stay on that platform and see what was new on it and oh what a surprise I found. The Peripheral is a new series that is giving a lot to talk about starring Chloë Grace Moretz, I honestly did not know what I was going to find because I had not heard of it so without thinking I jumped into the void and I set out to see the first chapter, I have to say that the first sixty minutes were enough to make me find the story super interesting, full of intrigue but above all of something inexplicable because that is the feeling that you get when you finish it, not knowing what happened and no doubt you want to find out.

   Es una historia compleja que involucra, videojuegos, conspiraciones, alteraciones de la realidad, viajes en el tiempo, operaciones militares, un drama familiar, etc, etc. Todo esto en resumidas cuentas claro está. Esta serie es la prueba de que uno tiene que salir en algunas ocasiones de lo tradicional, de lo que es mainstream para explorar otras cosas y como me pasó con esta historia dejarnos sorprender. Sin haber terminado la reseña creo que ya pueden deducir lo que me pareció esta serie y si no se los adelanto un poco, The Peripheral probablemente sea de las mejores series que he visto en el último año y eso es decir mucho, créanme. Pero bueno, ahora si hablamos un poco más a fondo de lo nuevo de Amazon Prime.

   It is a complex story that involves video games, conspiracies, reality alterations, time travel, military operations, a family drama, etc, etc, etc. All of this in a nutshell of course. This series is proof that sometimes you have to leave the traditional, what is mainstream to explore other things and as it happened to me with this story let us be surprised. Without having finished the review I think you can already deduce what I thought of this series and if not I'll tell you a little ahead, The Peripheral is probably one of the best series I've seen in the last year and that's saying a lot, believe me.    Esta trama da comienzo con Flynne Fisher (Chloe Grace Moretz) una joven extremadamente inteligente y perspicaz que vive en un pueblo bastante pequeño y alejado en el sur de los Estados Unidos. Su vida ahí es demás monótona ya que trabaja en un lugar en donde no gana lo suficiente para poder pagar unas medicinas que necesita su madre enferma. Junto a su hermano Burton (Jack Reynor) quien es un veterano de guerra tienen una forma de hacer dinero "fácil" para así ayudar a su madre, se trata de jugar juegos de realidad virtual para personas adineradas a manera de pruebas y testeos, la cosa es que una noche todo se vuelve un poco más misterioso ya que reciben un paquete con una nueva tecnología, una realidad virtual diferente y la cual es deber de Flynne probarla.

Es acá cuando la trama arranca, es cuando ella junto a su hermano tienen que descubrir quien es la persona detrás de todo eso, sus objetivos y el porque todos ellos corren peligro al punto de que en más de una ocasión serán amenazados por fuerzas externas de alto nivel. Es acá también cuando la serie es inyectada con una trama enredada y llena de acción que nos invita a resolver el enigma de la familia Fisher.

   Como ya pueden imaginarse es una trama muy vertical y rápida, una que no decae porque siempre están pasando cosas, ya sea en un tiempo o en el otro. Esto último es importante porque en la serie se van a encontrar con dos líneas temporales y en cada una de ellas hay una trama a la que deben hacerle seguimiento, en la del presente está el drama familiar de la mamá enferma, de las amenazas a la familia y uno que otro problema domestico a nivel del mismo pueblo con ciertos personajes que es mejor que ustedes mismos descubran quienes son. Y en la del futuro pues todo el tema de dar con la razón del porque todo se está complicando tanto a raíz de la aparición de Flynne en ese Londres del 2099; y es que esta trama es muy compleja de explicar por acá pero básicamente va un poco con buscar tener el control de las personas a través de dispositivos implantados en el cuerpo por lo que hay quienes no quieren que esos secretos salgan a la luz.

   Es una serie que por lo menos a mi no me aburrió en ningún momento, te mantiene a la expectativa desde el mismo primer episodio. Mucha acción, las escenas de este tipo fueron logradas muy bien, se ve que el trabajo que hay detrás es grande, la producción también es increíble porque estamos en un futuro distópico en donde podemos ver como sería un hipotético futuro y los cambios que hay en el y hablo de la producción porque constantemente están pasando cosas a nivel de imágenes, de visualizaciones que la verdad llaman mucho la atención, son esos pequeños y no tan pequeños detalles los que hacen que ver la serie sea tan entretenida. Armas futuristas, tecnología que si pensáramos en nuestro tiempo está muy alejada de la realidad, en fin, todos ingredientes para que la historia valga la pena de ser vista.

   Pero no todo es en el futuro, como ya dije, hay un cable a tierra que nos muestra problemas un poco más reales y que son más "comunes" si ese es el adjetivo adecuado. Esta parte de la trama es igual o hasta mejor que la otra, te mantiene en tensión, te indigna y esto es porque la parte del drama está ubicada en esta zona de la trama. También hay mucho movimiento, muertes, emboscadas, de todo para que no te aburras entre cambio y cambio. Otra de las razones del porque esta serie es lo que es es gracias a sus personajes, tengo que decir que casi todos son espectaculares, todos con una esencia única hacen que la historia sea más profunda. El casting acá fue muy bueno en verdad, me sorprendió para bien.

   Chloe es una actriz que no es la primera vez que la veo en estos papeles en donde hay que moverse y impartir golpes y drama es por eso que su personaje es tan bueno. Flynne es una joven que le tocó madurar rápido y que eso la llevó a saber defenderse tanto en lo físico como a nivel de personalidad, siempre sabe que decir, tiene una mente muy sagaz y eso hace que las personas que pretenden pasarle por encima estén a años luz de hacerlo. Por lejos es el mejor personaje de la serie pero que esto no opaque a los otros. Cherise Nuland (T'Nia Miller) es otra que me gustó mucho, su personaje es la contraparte de Flynne, en teoría. Tiene una personalidad muy fuerte, extrema diría yo y es una que con solo la mirada ya imparte respeto e intimidación, no la pierdan de vista.

   Chloe is an actress that is not the first time I see her in these roles where you have to move and impart blows and drama is why her character is so good. Flynne is a young woman who had to mature quickly and that led her to know how to defend herself both physically and personality level, always knows what to say, has a very shrewd mind and that makes people who intend to pass over her are light years away from doing so. By far the best character in the series but don't let that overshadow the others. Cherise Nuland (T'Nia Miller) is another one I really liked, her character is Flynne's counterpart, in theory.    Un muy solido 8.5/10 porque lo tiene todo, una muy buena trama, buenas escenas, buenos personajes, te garantizo que no te vas a aburrir en ningún capitulo. En fin, es un excelente drama de ciencia ficción que lo puedes ver en Amazon Prime, consta de ocho episodios de una hora aproximadamente cada uno. Te dejo el tráiler para que veas como va la cosa y te animes a darle una oportunidad, según mi opinión, vale mucho la pena.

   A very solid 8.5/10 because it has everything, a very good plot, good scenes, good characters, I guarantee you will not get bored in any chapter.    Estaba yo muy atento al estreno de la nueva serie de televisión exclusiva de Amazon Prime, con productores de renombre y una sinopsis que prometía desde sus primeras muestras. Me he considerado un buen seguidor de la ciencia ficción futurista, amante de películas buenas y no tan buenas también, como Los Juegos de Hambre, Maze Runner, Dune, I.A. Inteligencia Artificial, E.T el Extraterrestre, Westworld, y una lista larga que se extiende más que un discurso de presidentes.

   ¿Cuál es esta serie de la que les hablo? La Periferia, producida por dos grandes astros en la proeza del cine y la televisión: Lisa Joy & Jonathan Nolan, sí, los mismos que forjaron esa loca historia de robots y parques temáticos. Para esta ocasión el mundo futurista se ve envuelto en una amenaza de realidades virtuales en las que, un simple videojuego, es el desencadenante predilecto de una conexión de eventos catastróficos. A pesar de que la odisea en esta historia apenas comienza, ya cuenta con un excelente potencial para los amantes del entretenimiento atrevido, esporádico y fascinante.

   Probabilidades existen muchas, entonces, ¿cómo saber no que somos parte de un sistema experimental? Flynne Fisher es una chica que ha vivido bajo la sombra de la timidez y lo habitual, sin dotes extraordinarios o una habilidad imponente. Pero en secreto, fingiendo ser lo que los hombres no desean, ella es la mejor jugadora en un sistema de videojuegos de realidad virtual. La tecnología te puede convertir en cualquier cosa, incluso en tu hermano, o tu madre, o tu perro… o tal vez en un asesino profesional. ¡Mala elección fingir! Mentir no es bueno, tampoco engañar a una organización futurista que intenta devastar la humanidad. Esto es lo que lleva a Flynne a cometer el peor error de su existencia. For this occasion the futuristic world is involved in a threat of virtual realities in which, a simple video game, is the favorite trigger for a connection of catastrophic events. Although the Odyssey in this story begins, it already has excellent potential for daring, sporadic and fascinating entertainment lovers.

   There are many probabilities, so how to know not that we are part of an experimental system? Flynne Fisher is a girl who has lived under the shadow of shyness and the usual, without extraordinary skills or an imposing skill. But in secret, pretending to be what men do not want, she is the best player in a virtual reality video game system. Technology can make you anything, even your brother, or your mother, or your dog ... or maybe a professional murderer. Bad choice pretend! Lying is not good, nor fool a futuristic organization that tries to devastate humanity. This is what leads Flynne to make the worst mistake of its existence.    Si ya has visto Ready Player One entonces te familiarizaras muy rápido con La Periferia. Hay algunas similitudes en ambas producciones aunque cada una comparte elementos distintivos. Uno de ellos es el rol de la realidad virtual como una máquina del tiempo, este es el aspecto que engloba la nueva serie de Amazon y que la hace única con respecto a otras franquicias. La historia de Flynne envuelve los roles del tiempo para forjar dimensiones temporales a través de un simple lente conectado a los ojos. Es como si tu videojuego favorito te llevara al futuro, pero con consecuencias mortales e inesperadas.

   Los primeros dos episodios muestran con esencia una serie de eventos que nos meten de lleno en la historia. Al principio es algo lento el ritmo, pero luego evoluciona para mostrarnos lo impensable. Hay una conexión entre el pasado y el futuro, todo a través de un fenómeno que por ahora es imposible de descifrar. De postre: autos invisibles, asesinos profesionales, Hackers despiadados y una red monstruosa en la que todo está conectado.

   If you've already seen Ready Player One then you will familiarize yourself very quickly with the periphery. There are some similarities in both productions although each shares distinctive elements. One of them is the role of virtual reality as a time machine, this is the aspect that encompasses the new Amazon series and that makes it unique with respect to other franchises. Flynne's story involves the roles of time to forge temporal dimensions through a simple lens connected to the eyes.    Chloe Grace Moretz es nuestra hábil protagonista. No sé si ella será la mejor actriz del mundo, pero me encanta verla en una película o serie de televisión. Admito que la actriz tiene un buen potencial para desarrollar personajes fuertes, tal vez por la figura de su rostro, sus cejas demasiado expresivas y su sonrisa desafiante. Su personaje, Flynne, al principio no puede ser nada del otro mundo. Sin embargo, en el transcurso de la serie (al menos de los primeros episodios) el rol que cumple cambia de forma drástica. Flynne es una chica insegura, solitaria… características muy habituales en las historia juveniles de ciencia ficción. No obstante, no por eso la serie se oscurece.

   Es difícil encontrar una buena historia de ciencia ficción cuando la gran mayoría ha tocado temas como los viajes en el tiempo, por ejemplo, y sin embargo algunas producciones suelen voltear el paradigma habitual para ofrecernos una título completamente nuevo, al menos en el manejo de recursos como la realidad virtual, la posible aparición de un multiverso y la conexión entre el pasado y el futuro. La serie apenas comienza y su potencial irá desarrollándose con la transmisión de sus episodios restantes. Por ahora es difícil emitir una opinión concreta, aunque sí general. Y según mi humilde punto de vista, La Periferia es una producción con mucho potencial.

There are some similarities in both productions although each shares distinctive elements. One of them is the role of virtual reality as a time machine, this is the aspect that encompasses the new Amazon series and that makes it unique with respect to other franchises. Flynne's story involves the roles of time to forge temporal dimensions through a simple lens connected to the eyes. It is as if your favorite video game will take you to the future, but with mortal and unexpected consequences.

   The first two episodes essence a series of events that put us fully in history. At first the rhythm is slow, but then evolves to show us the unthinkable. There is a connection between the past and the future, all through a phenomenon that for now is impossible to decipher. For dessert: invisible cars, professional murderers, ruthless hackers and a monstrous network in which everything is connected.

   Amazon ha incrementado sus apuestas con producciones de alto presupuesto. Un ejemplo de ello fue lo que sucedió con Los Anillos de Poder, la cual impulsó el debate sobre la calidad de la serie y la aceptación que la misma tuvo en las audiencias. La Periferia, de manera inesperada, ha generado lo que al principio la historia inspirada en las novelas de Tolkien no pudo lograr: una amplia receptividad. No es para más, pues esta nueva propuesta creada por Scott B. Smith está encerrada en un universo rico y deslumbrante. Es una historia de pasos lentos, pero seguros, profunda en sus aspectos más desafiantes.

   ¿Es la periferia una obra maestra? Tal vez no, pero es una historia hecha para los amantes de las series lentas pero audaces, con elementos muy ricos y escenarios deslumbrantes. Si te gusta la ciencia ficción, quizás te enamores de la travesía de Flynne en el tiempo y la realidad virtual. La existencia es compleja, incompresible y extraña… y al igual que la teoría del caos, cualquier pequeña perturbación puede generar un desastre sin precedentes. A veces, es mejor solo observar… cualquier paso en falso puede llevar al profundo caos.

The periphery, unexpectedly, has generated what at first the story inspired by Tolkien's novels could not achieve: wide receptivity. It is not for more, because this new proposal created by Scott B. Smith is locked in a rich and dazzling universe. It is a story of slow, but safe steps, deep in its most challenging aspects.

   Is the periphery a masterpiece? Maybe not, but it is a story made for lovers of slow but bold series, with very rich elements and dazzling scenarios. If you like science fiction, you may fall in love with Flynne's journey in time and virtual reality. The existence is complex, incompressible and strange ... and like chaos theory, any small disturbance can generate an unprecedented disaster. Sometimes, it's better just to observe ... Any false step can lead to deep chaos.
