The Voyeurs es una película de Amazon Prime que, además de tener a la bellísima Sydney Sweeney como protagonista, nos lleva a un viaje de obsesión, sexualidad, curiosidad y por ende: chisme. Por alguna razón, me recuerda a la señora que se asoma a la ventana para enterarse de los pleitos de los vecinos. No obstante, en esta historia el contexto es muy diferente.
Conoceremos a Pippa, una oftalmóloga que, con ganas de buscar no que se le ha perdido, se ve involucrada en una trama de espionaje junto a su pareja Thomas, para espiar a sus vecinos Julia y Seb. Estos viven en el apartamento del frente, y acostumbran a dejar las cortinas abiertas para exponer sus prácticas sexuales. Pippa y Thomas se instalarán todas las noches para, desde su ventana, mirar el placer ajeno... desconociendo que ambos serán testigos de un acto macabro que terminará consumiéndolos.

The Voyeurs is an Amazon Prime movie that, besides having the beautiful Sydney Sweeney as the main character, takes us on a journey of obsession, sexuality, curiosity, and therefore: gossip. For some reason, it reminds me of the lady who looks out the window to find out about the neighbors' quarrels. However, in this story, the context is very different.
We meet Pippa, an ophthalmologist who, eager to find what she has lost, gets involved in a spy plot with her partner Thomas, to spy on their neighbors Julia and Seb. They live in the apartment across the street and are in the habit of leaving the curtains open to expose their sexual practices. Pippa and Thomas will settle in every night to, from their window, watch the pleasure of others... unaware that both will witness a macabre act that will end up consuming them.
The Voyeurs intenta ser un Thriller erótico, en la medida de lo posible. Abarca temas bastante polémicos, entre estos, la infidelidad. Debo preguntarte: ¿Nunca cederías ante la tentación? Quizás me digas que no, que eres una persona pulcra y enfocada. No obstante, tal como dice mi abuelita, nunca puedes negar un acto que, es probable que alguna vez cometas. Por supuesto, hay patrones ligados a ciertas conductas: algunos "humanos" suelen estar más predispuestos a tener una sexualidad bastante COMPULSIVA. No detallaré sobre esto, pues no soy un experto en el aréa, pero vaya que sí han existido casos de casos.
Entonces, en la película, miramos a la bella y despampanante Pippa (Sydney Sweeney), una chica tranquila y amorosa. Al fin, podrá vivir con su amado Thomas (Justice Smith), un chico inteligente, honesto y en general un buen hombre. No obstante, a pesar de que la relación de ambos marcha tranquila, aparece un par de vecinos que les demostrarán lo contrario... más concretamente, un vecino: Seb (Ben Hardy). Seb es el típico hombre seductor, persuasivo y mujeriego que, por algún motivo, prende a Pippa y no precisamente en fuego.
Pippa y Thomas, pero sobre todo Pippa, espía a su vecino: lo mira con ojos deseosos, llameantes y resplandecientes: ella lo desea, pero... ¿Qué hay de Thomas? ¿Sería Pippa capaz de montarle los cuernos...?

The Voyeurs tries to be an erotic thriller, as much as possible. It covers quite controversial topics, among these, infidelity. I have to ask you: Would you never give in to temptation? Perhaps you would say no, that you are a neat and focused person. However, as my grandmother says, you can never deny an act that you are likely to commit for some time. Of course, there are patterns linked to certain behaviors: some "humans" tend to be more predisposed to have a rather COMPULSIVE sexuality. I won't elaborate on this, as I'm not an expert in the area, but boy, have there been cases of cases?
So, in the film, we look at the beautiful and stunning Pippa (Sydney Sweeney), a quiet and loving girl. At last, she gets to live with her beloved Thomas (Justice Smith), a smart, honest, and generally good guy. However, even though their relationship is going smoothly, a couple of neighbors appear who will prove them otherwise... more specifically, a neighbor: Seb (Ben Hardy). Seb is the typical seductive, persuasive, womanizing man who, for some reason, sets Pippa on fire, and not exactly on fire.
Pippa and Thomas, but most of all Pippa, spies her neighbor: she watches him with desirous, flaming, glowing eyes: she wants him, but... What about Thomas, would Pippa be capable of cheating on him...?
La película no aborda en seco el tema de la infidelidad, más bien la usa como un recurso. Detrás de los deseos pasionales de Pippa, se encuentra un deseo mucho más macabro. Es obvio que la bella Sydney Sweeney mostró algo de su cuerpo picante; digamos que hay una escena bastante erótica en la que la cámara enfoca el cuerpo desnudo de la actriz, aunque no sé si se trata de un montaje o está desnuda en realidad. Les dejaré esa tarea a ustedes, XD.
Lo cierto es que Pippa, en su espionaje y sus ganas de comerse al vecino (literalmente, XD), descubre un acto bastante perturbador. La película da un giro bastante inesperado, pero no lo suficientemente fuerte. La tensión y el erotismo pasan a un segundo plano para mostrarnos las graves consecuencias de la curiosidad... ¿Hasta dónde llegarías solo por alimentar tus deseos? Detallarás una dura reflexión sobre la conducta humana y su semejanza a una "obra de arte". Una tragedia al estilo teatral de Shakespeare, o al menos un intento de eso.

The film does not tackle the subject of infidelity head-on but rather uses it as a device. Behind Pippa's passionate desires lies a much more macabre desire. It's obvious that the beautiful Sydney Sweeney showed some of her racy body; let's just say there's a rather erotic scene in which the camera focuses on the actress's naked body, although I don't know if it's a montage or if she's naked. I'll leave that task to you, XD.
What is certain is that Pippa, in her espionage and her desire to eat her neighbor (literally, XD), discovers a rather disturbing act. The movie takes a rather unexpected turn, but not strong enough. The tension and eroticism take a back seat to show us the serious consequences of curiosity... How far would you go just to feed your desires? You will detail a harsh reflection on human behavior and its resemblance to a "work of art". A tragedy in Shakespeare's theatrical style, or at least an attempt at it.
The Voyeurs no es la mejor película del mundo, pero sí logra su objetivo: sugerir, tentar y sorprender a los espectadores desprevenidos. Admito que solo la vi porque en el reparto está Sydney Sweeney, y bueno, ella es mi actriz favorita desde que la conocí en Euphoria. En esta historia, encarna a una Pippa chismosa, a la que le encanta fisgonear a los vecinos musculosos, XD. ¡Esa fogosa!
¿Ya la has visto?
Sin duda es una película que recomendaría, a pesar de sus fallas, al menos en la coherencia con la que terminan cerrando la trama de Pippa y su pareja. Pudo ser mejor: mucho más arriesgada; pero es lo que hay. Espero la disfruten y se animen a reseñarla, en caso de que no lo hayan hecho todavía ;-).

The Voyeurs is not the best film in the world, but it does achieve its goal: to suggest, tempt and surprise unsuspecting viewers. I admit I only saw it because Sydney Sweeney is in the cast, and well, she's been my favorite actress since I met her in Euphoria. In this story, she plays a gossipy Pippa, who loves to snoop on the muscular neighbors, XD That fiery one!
Have you seen it yet?
It is certainly a film that I would recommend, despite its flaws, at least in the coherence with which they end up closing the plot of Pippa and her partner. It could have been better: much more risky; but it is what it is. I hope you enjoy it and I encourage you to review it, in case you haven't done it yet ;-).
