   Last year, when I heard that a movie about Jonathan Larson's autobiographical musical was coming out I knew I definitely had to see it. At first I decided not to find out anything else, sometimes it's best to be surprised by productions, so I only knew it was going to star Andrew Garfield and be directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda. When it finally came out on Netflix, the reviews were so positive that as soon as I had some free time I set out to watch it and almost from the start it became one of my favorite musical movies.

   Tick, tick... Boom!, tells the story of a visionary and talented composer of musicals named Jonathan Larson and how, despite being practically bankrupt, he struggled to get his first musical play Superbia off the ground.

   The first time I saw Tick, tick.... Boom! was almost immediately after it came out on Netflix, it was a movie I was anticipating quite a bit, so I didn't wait too long to see it, as I do with some movies. I was completely enchanted, it is a gift for lovers of Larson and hiswork, besides being tremendously emotional and full of details that have made it a reference when talking about musical films. Since it started I knew what I was going for and I knew it was going to move me tremendously, because Larson's story is as interesting as it is unfair.

   Before I continue I want to give you a little context, because I have mentioned Jonathan Larson's name quite a bit, but surely many of you had never heard of him before. This composer and lyricist was the creator of the play RENT, one of the best modern musicals ever written and staged, at the time it changed the way theater was being done off and on Broadway, because in addition to introducing different rhythms, it addressed really important issues such as HIV, upper class privilege and sexuality.

   Sadly, Jonathan died just before the premiere of Rent, but that didn't stop its message from reaching all of us who have seen it, both in theater and film. Rent earned Larson several posthumous awards, including a Pullitzer, as well as the respect and admiration of those of us who know this fantastic musical.

   As I mentioned initially, this film is an adaptation of the autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson. Originally the musical is a "monologue" and in its beginnings the leading role was played by Larson himself, but after his death, they decided to adapt his work to integrate more actors and some songs from the musical Superbia in which Larson worked before writing and composing Tick, Tick... Boom!, from that adaptation came the initial idea for this film.

   The direction was in charge of Lin-Manuel Miranda, undoubtedly a reference of modern theater, creator of Hamilton, one of the most famous and successful musicals today, in addition to being the composer of songs for Disney films: Moana and Encanto, with this referent I was confident that they would do justice to Larson's work because Miranda's passion for musical theater is noticeable and he certainly did not disappoint, he incorporated details and cameos of musical theater LEGENDS, among them, actors from the original cast of Rent, that was something that I found extremely emotional and certainly a tribute to that first staging so remembered.

   Thirty-ninety. What can I do?

   The opening number is modern, lighthearted and full of emotions, something completely Larson, it is one of my favorite songs of this musical and I think it represents the story of the whole movie: running against the clock of life, looking to do something important before youth is over. We can see the protagonist worried about not being able to achieve his dream before reaching thirty, I think it is something that many can identify with, the search for greatness.

   From that moment on we see Larson's struggle against his adversities, he lives in a "bohemian" part of New York City, but his apartment is a disaster, he works in a restaurant as a waiter and has seen several of his friends succumb to the most feared disease of the 80s & 90s: HIV. Undoubtedly, he does not have an easy mission, but he is clear about the talent he has and never stops fighting and believing in his dream.

   I'm the future of musical theater.

   We see how little by little he is giving shape to his dream of presenting his musical "Superbia", the first step is to do a workshop, with the hope that a producer is encouraged to support him and will take it to Broadway. But at the same time his life was changing irremediably, we see him immersed in the stress that comes with a limited budget, with the world spinning around without being able to stop it to write and compose the most important theme of his musical.

   This struggle against everyday life leaves us one of the best moments of the film: Sunday. This song is a poem for all musical theater lovers, the composition is directly a tribute to classic musicals, especially those of Stephen Sondheim (Sunday in the Park with George), one of the most important composers of musical theater, who also has a very important role in Larson's growth. In this scene we get to see several legendary Broadway actors, including actors from the original cast of Rent and my all-time favorite, the very talented: Bernadette Peters. This is definitely Lin-Manuel Miranda's greatest gift to all fans of musicals.

   Undoubtedly, the most powerful message of this film is to fight day by day for our dreams, for our life and for what we want to achieve, because we don't know what will happen to us tomorrow. This perfectly reflects what Larson lived during those years, everything around him changing, everyone achieving things and him feeling stuck in his dream, farewells of friends who were defeated by HIV which at that time was almost a death sentence, he only had to fight, to act, because "actions speak louder than words".

   Visually this film is a reflection of the 90s, the aesthetics of the scenery reminded me irremediably of Rent, both its film and theatrical version, which confirmed to me how much Larson was inspired by his own life to create his masterpiece. The costumes are fantastic, they perfectly emulated the fashion of that era, plus the detail of Larson's waiter's uniform was incredible.

   Despite being a musical film, it has almost no dance numbers, plus Larson was not much of a classical choreographer, but the ones it has I thought were fantastic, modern and completely fun. What stands out for me is the musical section, of course, all the songs seemed really good, they respected Larson's compositions and delivered songs full of emotions and rock, just as it should be, with rhythms completely belonging to the theater and to the 90s era.

   The performances were splendid, as well as the voices, I can't find an actor who is out of place, even those with less relevant roles manage to convey what is sought. Of course, the one who stands out the most is Andrew Garfield, he plays an excellent role, he manages to perfectly capture Larson's anxiety and the stress that is experienced during the assembly of a workshop and, in general, during the development of a theatrical work. The emotion he imbued the character made me completely forget that physically he looks absolutely nothing like Jonathan Larson. I must confess that at first I doubted Garfield's ability to star in this film, but after seeing him my perception hanged completely.

   

   Tick, Tick... Boom!, is a tribute to the genius that was Jonathan Larson and in general a tribute to musical theater because of all the details and cameos that Lin-Manuel Miranda incorporated into the production, it is certainly a film that fans of this genre will enjoy a lot, but it is not only aimed at them because the story is so real and so close that anyone can feel identified, so it is a film that I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a good time in front of the screen.

   What I liked the most.

   ✅ All the nods to musical theater that the director integrated, from the voice of the real Stephen Soundheim, to the whole "Sunday" number, as I said, it was a treat for all fans of this genre.

   ✅ Garfield's performance, truly surprised me, I didn't know too much about this actor, except that he played Spiderman (and I didn't like it). Seeing him full of emotions and passion while performing Larson's songs was definitely one of the best things about the movie.

   ✅ The messages behind the story, never give up and keep going even though things don't turn out the way we thought they would, trust ourselves, make the most of our time and our loved ones, are some of the messages I take away from Tick, Tick.... Boom!.

   ❌ Perhaps, it has too many elements completely belonging to musical theater, expressions and dialogues that denote the musical origin of the film, as well as the theater experience of the director, these details may seem out of place or a little cheesy to an audience that is not used to them.

   El año pasado, cuando me enteré de que iba a salir una película sobre el musical autobiográfico de Jonathan Larson sabía que definitivamente tenía que verla. Al principio decidí no enterarme de nada más, a veces es mejor dejarse sorprender por las producciones, así que solamente sabía que iba a estar protagonizada por Andrew Garfield y dirigida por Lin-Manuel Miranda. Cuando finalmente salió en Netflix, las críticas fueron tan positivas que en cuanto tuve algo de tiempo libre me dispuse a verla y casi desde el inicio se convirtió en una de mis películas musicales favoritas.

   

   Tick, tick... Boom!, Cuenta la historia de un visionario y talentoso compositor de musicales llamado Jonathan Larson y de como, a pesar de estar prácticamente en bancarrota, luchó para sacar adelante su primera obra musical: Superbia.

   La primera vez que vi Tick, tick... Boom!, fue casi inmediatamente de que saliera en Netflix, era una película que anticipaba bastante, así que no esperé demasiado para verla, como me pasa con algunas. Quedé completamente encantada, es un regalo para los amantes de Larson y de su trabajo, además de ser tremendamente emotiva y de estar llena de detalles que la han convertido en un referente cuando se habla de películas musicales. Desde que comenzó yo sabía a lo que iba y sabía que me iba a conmover tremendamente, porque la historia de Larson es tan interesante como injusta.

   Antes de continuar quiero darles un poco de contexto, porque he mencionado (y mencionaré) bastante el nombre de Jonathan Larson, pero seguramente muchos de ustedes no lo habían escuchado antes. Este compositor y letrista fue el creador de la obra RENT, uno de los mejores musicales modernos que se han escrito y montado, en su momento cambió la forma en la que se venía haciendo teatro en Broadway, porque además de introducir ritmos diferentes, abordó temas realmente importantes como el VIH, el privilegio de las clases altas y la sexualidad.

   Lamentablemente, Jonathan murió justo antes del estreno de Rent, pero eso no impidió que su mensaje llegara a todos los que la hemos visto, tanto en teatro, como en cine. Rent le valió a Larson varios premios póstumos, entre ellos un Pullitzer, además del respeto y la admiración de quiénes conocemos este fantástico musical.

   El número inicial es moderno, desenfadado y lleno de emociones, algo completamente Larson, es una de mis canciones favoritas de este musical y creo que representa la historia de toda la película: correr contra el reloj de la vida, buscar hacer algo importante antes de que se acabe la juventud. Podemos ver al protagonista preocupado por no poder lograr su sueño antes de llegar a los treinta, creo que es algo con lo que muchos pueden sentirse identificados, la búsqueda de la grandeza.

   A partir de ese momento vemos la lucha de Larson contra sus adversidades, vive en una parte "bohemia" de la ciudad de Nueva York, pero su departamento es un desastre, trabaja en un restaurante como mesero y ha visto a varios de sucumbir por la enfermedad más temida de los 80s y 90s: el VIH. Sin duda, no tiene una misión sencilla, pero él tiene claro el talento que tiene y nunca deja de luchar y de creer en su sueño.

   Esta lucha contra la cotidianidad deja una de los mejores momentos de la película: Sunday.    Visualmente esta película es un reflejo de la época de los 90s, la estética de las escenografías me recordaron irremediablemente a Rent, tanto su versión cinematográfica como teatral, lo cual me confirmó lo mucho que se inspiró Larson en su propia vida para crear su obra maestra. El vestuario es fantástico, emularon a la perfección la moda de esa época, además de que el detalle del uniforme de mesero de Larson me pareció increíble.

   A pesar de ser una película musical, no tiene casi números de baile, además de que Larson no fue mucho de coreografías clásicas, pero los que tiene me parecieron fantásticos, modernos y completamente divertidos. En lo que para mí destaca BASTANTE es en el apartado musical, desde luego, todas las canciones me parecieron realmente buenas, respetaron las composiciones de Larson y entregaron canciones llenas de emociones y de rock, tal como debía ser, con ritmos completamente pertenecientes al teatro y a la época de los 90s.

   Las actuaciones fueron espléndidas al igual que las voces, no puedo encontrar a un actor que esté fuera de lugar, incluso aquellos con papeles menos relevantes logran transmitir lo que se busca. Por supuesto, que el que más destaca es Andrew Garfield, hace un papel excelente, logra captar a la perfección la ansiedad de Larson y el estrés que se vive durante el montaje de un workshop y en general durante el desarrollo de una obra teatral. La emotividad que le impregnó al personaje me hizo olvidar por completo que físicamente no se parece en absolutamente nada a Jonathan Larson. Debo confesar que al principio dudé de la capacidad de Garfield para protagonizar esta película, pero después de verlo mi percepción sobre él cambió por completo.

Boom!, es un homenaje al genio que fue Jonathan Larson y en general un homenaje al teatro musical debido a todos los detalles y cameos que Lin-Manuel Miranda incorporó a la producción, sin duda es una película que disfrutarán mucho los seguidores de este género, pero que no está solamente dirigida a ellos porque la historia es tan real y tan cercana que cualquiera puede sentirse identificado, así que es una película que definitivamente recomiendo a cualquiera que desea pasar un buen rato frente a la pantalla.

   En conclusión, está es una buena cinta, y pese a todas las cosas positivas que he dicho, para mí no es una obra de arte, pero me parece muy buena para ser el debut de su director, Lin-Manuel Miranda. El verdadero fuerte de esta cinta está en su crítica a la sociedad, y todos los problemas que tuvieron que pasar muchos artistas en la década de los 90, tocando temas importantes como el SIDA, aunque sin indagar tanto en su trasfondo social.

A su vez, en la cinta iremos viendo los eventos que Jonathan llevaba a cabo para presentar Superbia, mientras en paralelo se muestra lo que fue el musical Tick, tick…Boom!. Esta mezcla funciona bien, y le da un toque original al título.

   En la trama, se enfocan en mostrar el lado duro de tener determinada tu vocación, que no basta tener talento o trabajo duro, que en el proceso de alcanzar algo hay más derrotas que victorias. Por este lado no veo ningún problema. En el aspecto músical, hay grandes escenas como la que comienza la película, pero hay otras que a mi parecer no funcionan. Por suerte la mayoría de las escenas musicales si entretienen, logrando crear un buen espectáculo.

   It is almost inevitable to watch Tick, Tick, Boom! without having the expectations in the sky, with this and the rumors of the presence of Andrew Garfield in No Way Home it seems that the internet decided to love that man in unison, praising each project that he has recently been a part of without evaluating the nature Of them very deeply.

   

   I think it's important that we consider all of this because Tick, Tick, Boom! (A musical drama directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda based on the Broadway play that Jonathan Larson created as a very particular reflection of his own life) is a very strange product, fun, yes, but very far from the perfection that for many is almost obvious.

   For me, the true enjoyment of this work derives from its thematic content: a frantic and constant struggle with the fear of aging without leaving a significant mark on the world, shown through the suffering of a brilliant and neurotic artist who is overwhelmed by his own existential crisis.

   

   

   On the surface things are not so smooth, Tick Tick has an extremely fast and disorganized rhythm that can bewilder its viewers for at least the first hour, a considerable portion of the montage where the only shred of coherence will be provided by the brilliant actors. that are on screen.

   Es casi inevitable ponerse a ver Tick, Tick, Boom! sin tener las expectativas por el cielo, con esto y los rumores de la presencia de Andrew Garfield en No Way Home pareciera que internet decidió amar a ese hombre al unisono, alabando cada proyecto del que ha formado parte recientemente sin evaluar muy a profundidad la naturaleza de estos mismos.

   

   Creo que es importante que consideremos todo esto porque Tick, Tick, Boom! (Un drama musical digirido por Lin-Manuel Miranda basado en la obra de Broadway que Jonathan Larson creo como un reflejo muy particular de su propia vida) es un producto muy extraño, divertido, si, pero muy lejano de la perfección que para muchos resulta casi obvia.

   Para mí el verdadero disfrute de esta obra deriva defina de su contenido temático: una lucha frenética y constante con el miedo a envejecer sin dejar una huella significativa en el mundo mostrada a través del sufrimiento de un artista brillante y neurótico que se ve capado por su propia crisis existencial.

   

   

   En la superficie las cosas no son tan fluidas, Tick Tick cuenta con un ritmo extremadamente acelerado y desorganizado que puede desconcertar a sus espectadores durante al menos la primera hora, una porción considerable del montaje en dónde la única pizca de coherencia la otorgarán los brillantes actores que están en pantalla.

   Por supuesto, podríamos decir que esto es intencional, tiene sentido si vemos el filme como una entrada al cerebro de Larson, un sujeto apasionado y rodeado de gente que lo amaba genuinamente pero demasiado ambicioso como para existir con tranquilidad, a medida de que la historia progresa (Y su protagonista evoluciona con ella) las cosas se van enfocando un poco más, vamos conectando con su conflictos y entendiendo con claridad por qué actúa de forma tan errática.

   

   Tick, Tick Boom! Opera dentro de unos parámetros muy particulares acorde los cuales podríamos llamarlo obra maestra, representando la sensación indescriptible de ansiedad que supone notar que se nos está llendo la vida sin lograr nada realmente significativo. Las canciones son interpretadas de forma estupenda y aún sin ser un gran fan de los musicales puedo ver el valor artístico en cada uno de estos temas.

   

   

   ¿Conclusión? Aunque no sería capaz de llamar esta una de las mejores películas que he visto, sé reconocer sus puntos positivos y es indudable que Andrew Garfield sabe abordar a la perfección el rol de Larson, un tipo creativo y apasionado que muchas veces se inunda en su propio ego pero con fuerza para eventualmente salir adelante, aunque no estuviese vivo para ver los frutos de su esfuerzo.

   I finally decided to see this movie and I can only say that I love Andrew and that it made me cry 80% of the whole movie. I had been warned that it would be like this and I didn't want to believe it, although I was still scared and that's why it took me so long to decide to watch it, my current mental state is hanging by a thread, and crying so much watching something was not in my plans, but I gave in, I let myself go and here I am, better than before after so much crying.

   tick, tick... BOOM! is a film based on Jonathan Larson's autobiographical musical play, which tells in a whirlwind of stories everything that is happening around him: he's about to turn 30; the musical he's been writing for 8 years is finally going to get an audience glimpse to see if it actually gets made; his apartment mate and lifelong best friend moved out and has a job outside the arts securing his life financially; his girlfriend must decide whether or not to take a job away from New York; his friends and the LGBT arts community at large being plowed under by HIV, and so much more, all in the '90s.

   

   Finalmente decidí ver esta película y solo puedo decir que amo a Andrew y que me hizo llorar el 80% de toda la película. Me habían avisado de que así sería y no quise creerlo, aunque igual me daba miedo y por eso tardé tanto tiempo en decidir verla, mi estado mental actual pende de un hilo y llorar tanto viendo algo no estaba en mis planos, pero me rendí, me dejé llevar y aquí ando, mejor que antes después de tanto llorar.

BOOM! es una película basada en la obra de teatro musical autobiográfica de Jonathan Larson, que relata en un torbellino de historias todo lo que está ocurriendo a su alrededor: está por cumplir 30 años; el musical que lleva escribiendo por 8 años al fin va a tener un vistazo al público para ver si logra realizarse de verdad; su compañero de apartamento y mejor amigo de toda la vida se mudó y tiene un trabajo fuera de las artes asegurando su vida económicamente; su novia debe decidir si aceptar o no un trabajo lejos de Nueva York; sus amigos y la comunidad artística LGBT en general siendo arrazada por el VIH, y muchas cosas más, todo en los 90.

   Impossible to watch this movie and not feel a lump in your throat during any moment we are watching, I was like that almost the whole movie, everything together is a marvel that appeals to your empathy, your feelings, and your sensitivity, it does not let anything go unnoticed and although certain things are left in the air as time goes by, we know they will have that painful ending and nothing can avoid it.

   The way it is told is a whirlwind monologue made musical that forces you to love it just because, there is no escape, and I thought I was going to say this later, but no, I have always loved monologues, and listening to Andrew narrating everything while the songs are interspersed was wonderful, I write this listening to the soundtrack, but I would love even more to listen to the monologue, just the voice, one of my many whims, but I doubt I'll ever find it, I need it.

   

   Imposible ver esta película y no sentir un nugo en la garganta durante cualquier momento que estemos viendo, yo estuve así casi toda la pelíucla, todo junto es una maravilla que apela a tu empatía, a tus sentimientos y tu sensibilidad, no deja pasar nada por alto y aunque ciertas cosas queden en el aire mientras va pasando el tiempo, sabemos que van a tener ese final doloroso y nada podrá evitarlo.

   La forma en que está contada es un torbellino hecho monólogo hecho musical que te obliga a amarlo porque sí, no hay escapatoria alguna, y pensé que esto lo iba a decir más adelante, pero no, yo amo los monólogos desde siempre, y escuchar a Andrew relatando todo mientras se intercalan las canciones fue maravilloso, escribo esto escuchando el soundtrack, pero amaría más aún escuchar el monólogo, solo la voz, uno de mis muchos caprichos, pero dudo mucho que llegue a encontrarlo, lo necesito.

   The cast is wonderful in its simplicity, nothing was missing and nothing was leftover, seeing Vanessa Hudgens was a pleasant surprise, but MJ Rodriguez made me explode with happiness when I saw her, and much later the wretch made me cry reminding me that I have one last season of Pose to watch and I'm not emotionally prepared for it, I don't want to keep crying so much.

   My favorite staging is 'Sunday', that moment when Jonathan is getting overloaded with all the things that are happening, plus the place is crowded, and there are calls, orders, and a thousand things going on at once, it's horrible, but that second when everything changes and the theatricality takes over the place, fuck, I cried, it was too perfect for it to be real, and the fact that all the people singing there were part of the original cast of Rent, one of Jonathan's plays, and the rest were part of the current Broadway actors, killed me, perfect.

   

   El elenco es maravilloso en su simplesa, no hizo falta y tampoco sobró nada, ver a Vanessa Hudgens fue una grata sorpresa, pero MJ Rodriguez me hizo explotar de felicidad al verla, y mucho después me hizo llorar la desgraciada recordándome que tengo una última temporada de Pose que ver y para la que no estoy emocionalmente preparade, no quiero seguir llorando tanto.

   Mi puesta en escena favorita es 'Sunday', ese momento en el que Jonathan está sobrecargándose de todas las cosas que están sucediendo, además de que el local está abarrotada de gente, y hay llamdas, pedidos y mil cosas a la vez, es horrible, pero ese segundo en el que todo cambia y la teatralidad toma posesión del lugar, joder, lloré, fue demasiado perfecto como para que sea real, y el hecho de que todas las personas que cantaron ahí fueron parte del elenco original de Rent, una de las obras de Jonathan, y el resto eran parte de los actores del Broadway actual, me mató, perfecto.

   This movie is a wonderful thing to watch, enjoy and suffer through, and I wish I could get to have the honor of seeing the musical live, but nah, it is enough for me to know of its existence and that this movie was made and that I got to see it, I don't need anything else. Andrew did an amazing job here, Lin-Manuel Miranda once again excels at directing a film and all that is left for us mortals to do is admire it and keep wanting more.

   Robin de Jesus as Michael left me destroyed in every scene, already at the end all I could do was cry watching him, and even more after 'Why', the song about Jonathan and Michael's friendship, damn, that's my favorite song of all, followed by 'Louder than Words', and finally 'Sunday' for that perfect staging. You have to see the movie, you have to.

   

   Esta película es una cosa maravillosa que hay que ver, disfrutar y sufrir, y ojalá pudiera llegar a tener el honor de ver el musical en vivo, pero ñe, me basta con saber de su existencia y que esta película haya sido hecha y que pude verla, no necesito más nada. Andrew hizo un trabajo increíble aquí, Lin-Manuel Miranda vuelve a destacarse dirigiendo una película y solo nos queda a los mortales admirarla y seguir queriendo más.

   Robin de Jesus como Michael me dejó destruide en cada escena, ya a lo último lo único que hacía era llorar viéndolo, y más aún después de 'Why', la canción que trata sobre la amistad de Jonathan y Michael, joder, esa es mi canción favorita de todas, seguida de 'Louder than Words', y finalmente 'Sunday' por esa puesta en escena perfecta.    Tick, tick... Boom es una película de la que he visto que hablan por ser un proyecto reciente de Andrew Garfield, por no tener tanta popularidad porque solo esperan su participación en la nueva película de Spiderman, no esperaba mucho para ser sincero al ver esta película, pensé que seria un drama de un músico fracasado como muchos. Al ver los primeros minutos de esta película de dos horas, vi que se iba a convertir en una de mis películas favoritas.

   
   

   La película trata de la vida del compositor Jonathan Larson, un musical que hizo cuando aun vivía pero que ahora lo transformaron en una película musical que no se siente infantil al verla. Me gustan los musicales, debo decirlo, pero en su mayoría no buscan colocar situaciones en donde esos musicales sucedan, donde todos empiezan a bailar y a cantar como si fuese una película animada. Aunque Tick, tick... Boom tenga algunas canciones con esas mismas escenas, triunfan aquellas en donde es más natural todo, se olvida por completo aquellas con una corografía y se prestan atención aquellas donde parece que todo sucede en la cabeza del protagonista, por ser un maniaco de la música.

   
   

   Ese fue su punto fuerte para mi, Larson es un hombre tan dedicado a la música y a su proyecto que olvida todo a su alrededor, un obsesionado con su trabajo y vocación, por eso algunas escenas musicales puedan parecer más naturales por considerarse que están en la cabeza del protagonista. Es una historia real, de un compositor que en verdad tenia esa personalidad maniaca con la música, tal vez a eso se debe el esfuerzo que hizo Andrew al interpretar a Larson, estudiando música y demás; aunque no puedo decir con seguridad que ya no sabia sobre música.

   
   

   La película es increíble, no cansa al espectador, no todo el tiempo son canciones, no siempre es feliz y es lo cautivante del proyecto. Su director esta haciendo su debut en el mundo cinematográfico con esta obra según llegue a leer, para mi es un buen comienzo, aunque tal vez no llame tanto la atención porque su protagonista esta en un proyecto más grande. De igual forma, los invito a ver esta obra de arte musical, valen la pena sus dos horas y esta en Netflix.

   

   OPINION

   Tick, tick... Boom is a movie that I have seen that everybody talk about for being a recent Andrew Garfield project, for not having so much popularity because the people only expect his participation in the new Spiderman movie, I did not expect much to be honest when Seeing this movie, I thought it would be a drama by a failed musician like many. Watching the first few minutes of this two-hour movie, I saw that it was going to become one of my favorite movies.

   
   

   The film is about the life of the composer Jonathan Larson, a musical that he made when he was still alive but which has now been transformed into a musical film that does not feel childish when watching it. I like musicals, I must say, but for the most part they don't seek to place situations where those musicals happen, where everyone starts dancing and singing as if it were an animated movie. Although Tick, tick... Boom has some songs with those same scenes, those where more natural, those with a chorography are completely forgotten and attention is paid to those where it seems that everything happens in the protagonist's head, for be a music maniac.

   
   

   That was his strong point for me, Larson is a man so dedicated to music and his project that he forgets everything around him, obsessed with his work and vocation, that is why some musical scenes may seem more natural because they are considered to be in the head of the protagonist. It is a true story, of a composer who really had that maniacal personality with music, maybe that's why Andrew made an effort to play Larson, studying music and so on; although I can't say for sure that he didn't know about music before.

   
   

   The film is incredible, it does not tire the viewer, it is not songs all the time, it is not always happy and that is what is captivating about the project. His director is making his debut in the cinematographic world with this work as I gets to read, for me it is a good start, although it may not attract so much attention because his protagonist is in a larger project. In the same way, I invite you to see this work of musical art, it is worth the two hours and it is on Netflix.
