The New Era Cult movies review is continuing with one of the best out there. After my Piglet and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey it's time for the sequel. I just want to remind you everyone what a cult film is. A cult film is a low-budget movie where basically everything seems a bit fake but still manages to be entertaining and accumulate a fanbase that will support it. Don't expect anything big with awesome graphics and scenes.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, with a budget of 100k managed to bring at least 10x back in terms of earnings. Due to that it was certain that a second film would come out. Note that the second film had a 500k budget, which is x5 its initial and still managed to bring back 7 million dollars! Thus, there is an audience and a fanbase.
Plot
The plot is nothing much as usual, but it's funny. Basically, we get to see more characters like the owl and Tigger who basically decided that they will no longer hide but instead they will make their presence clear and kill everyone in their path. They take the fight to Ashdown while some of the people try to find back.
What I Liked and what I Didn't
Even though the plot is nothing amazing, i like the way each film starts with a book-like storytelling and i also like that they introduced more characters with unique let's say powers. The acting isn't anything great or bad as everything is focused on killings and such.
The difference in terms of budget is visible in terms of the scenery, more gore scenes, a glimpse of realism and way better costumes than before. I enjoyed it i would say, in fact it's one of the best in terms of B-Horrors and in that particular genre, to be honest. It's way better to simply watch it with friends and have fun.
In terms of rating, if i would rate it as a cult movie i would say it's an easy 7/10 and ofc if i would rate as another film i would give a 5/10, nothing more, nothing less. Buy pizzas, bring friends over and watch both of these!
These days I got a great news, since they released the second part of a movie, which caused a great impact and even more ruining the facet of a great bear that was always present in my childhood, as it is Winnie the Pooh, as they made a total change to the whole story and plot of the same, in order to turn it into a horror movie, which is something that requires a lot of effort and dedication, in addition to having a big budget. This movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II, was based on that big yellow bear from that animated movie from a long time ago, something that was impossible not to see it every time it was shown on television, therefore it is a production where you can take many surprises, fright and I was encouraged to see it to see if this was better than the first of this saga.
It all starts with that great past that has that bear and thus to give that touch and all the responsibility to Winnie the pooh, therefore as the minutes go by we are immersed in that great forest, where fear, terror and the slightest mistake you make can affect the life of the human being, also shows how each of these monsters one thing they want is blood and more blood, being the only thing that makes them happy, where we wonder can we return to a friendly Winnie the Pooh? Will people be saved, will evil take over them, and many other things, since if you saw the first installment you can understand the past, therefore in this production full of surprises, knowing that the least expected moment can come out that bear.
Estos días me llego una gran noticia, puesto que sacaron la segunda parte de una película, que causo un gran impacto y más aún arruinando la faceta de un gran oso que siempre estuvo presente en mi infancia, como lo es Winnie the Pooh, ya que le hicieron un cambio total a toda esa historia y trama de la misma, para así convertirla en una película de terror, la cual es algo que requiere de mucho esfuerzo y dedicación, además contar con gran presupuesto. Esta película Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II, estaba basada en ese gran oso amarillo de esa película animadas de hace mucho tiempo, algo que era imposible no verla cada vez que la pasaban por la televisión, por ende es una producción donde podrás llevarte muchas sorpresas, susto y me anime a verla para ver si esta era mejor que la primera de esta saga.
Todo comienza con ese gran pasado que tiene dicho oso y de esa manera poder darle ese toque y toda la responsabilidad a Winnie the pooh, por ende a medida que van pasando los minutos nos va sumergiendo en ese gran bosque, donde el miedo, el terror y el mínimo error que se cometa puede afectar en la vida del ser humano, además muestra como cada uno de esos monstruos lo uno que quieren es sangre y más sangre, siendo lo único que los hace feliz, donde nos preguntamos ¿Podremos volver a un Winnie the Pooh amigable?, ¿Se salvaran las personas?, ¿La maldad se apoderara de ellos?, y muchas otras cosas, puesto que si viste la primera entrega podrás entender el pasado, por ende en esa una producción llena de sorpresas, sabiendo que el momento menos esperado puede salir ese oso.
This is a film that would be nothing more for the public, who likes the horror genre, since a child will not like to see a big bland that kills people, so they are films that pass very quickly to oblivion, as they fail to fit with society. Despite this, this one has a series of much broader elements and details that allow it to be more shocking and show us that more human side by the main character and without knowing what may be his next attack. In addition, a point for this new installment is the way they managed to recreate and explain certain details that were left missing in the first installment and thus be able to know where some things come from, since beyond that it was the same, the same way of attacking and how to move.
Esta es una película que sería nada más para el público, que le gusta el género de terror, ya que a un niño no le gustará ver a un gran soso que mata a personas, por eso son películas que pasan muy rápido al olvido, ya que no logran encajar con la sociedad. A pesar de esto, esta cuenta con una serie de elementos mucho más amplios y detales que permiten que sea más impactante y mostrarnos ese lado más humano por parte del personaje principal y sin saber que cual podrá ser su próximo ataque. Además, un punto para esta nueva entrega es la manera que lograron recrear y poder explicar ciertos detalles que quedaron fallos en la primera entrega y así poder saber de dónde vienen algunas cosas, puesto que más allá fue lo mismo, la misma manera de atacar y cómo moverse.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II, cuenta con sus escenas que son de gran impacto, oscuras y ese gran toque de maldad, y de esa manera poder llevar esta película a otro nivel, pero ya la imagen de ese gran oso está arruinada y por más que le coloquen para rescatarla será imposible. Además, resalta un poco más ese trabajo de los animales al momento de atacar y esta vez los disfraces y la vestimenta que le colocan son más realistas y de esa manera permite que sea de mucho más impacto, provocando así que cada uno de ellos te saque un gran susto, dejando cierta pista y misterios para que así todo pueda ser posible, por ende Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II, puede ser buena o mala dependiendo de cómo te caiga ese gran oso.
It was a movie, where I am sure that they put all the effort possible to continue the saga and that way these characters can be sounded again, but for me it is a movie that I will only see once, since I only stay with the movies of my childhood of that bear, since this is the strangest thing I've seen and this second part leaves an open ending, perhaps the director bet another sum of money to get the third part, so just wait showing that the terror that causes the person can disappear and to notice a happy bear again. So, if you want to see a horror and slasher movie, do not miss this great classic of Winnie the Pooh.
Fue una película, donde estoy seguro de que le colocaron todo el esfuerzo posible para poder continúa dicha saga y de esa manera esos personajes puedan volver a ser sonados, pero para mí es una película que solo la veré una vez, ya que solamente me quedo con las películas de mi infancia de ese oso, puesto que esto es lo más extraño que he visto y esta segunda parte deja un final todo abierto, que quizás el director apuesta otra suma de dinero para sacar la tercera parte, por eso solo queda esperar demostrando que ese terror que le causa a la persona puede desaparecer y poder notar a un oso nuevamente feliz. Por eso, si quieres ver una película de terror y slasher, no dejes pasar este gran clásico de Winnie the Pooh.

Cuando vi la primera película de Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, sentí que se trataba de una comedia gore. No fue agradable, no fue una buena película. Pero, las películas de Gore o Slashers, en su mayoría, no son hechas para el gusto de todos. Si algo hay que entender, es que filmes con presupuestos pequeños tampoco merecen tanto castigo; la idea es disfrutarlas, aun cuando los efectos especiales o los planos de la cámara sean horribles. No es sarcasmo, en serio XD.
Admito que los slashers son eso: slashers. Al menos yo he disfrutado algunas películas de este género. Muchas de las películas que derivan de este son, al menos, mi opinión, para personas aficionadas (y me incluyo, XD). No obstante, en ocasiones slashers de bajo presupuesto se convierten en un boom gracias a sus secuelas con "un presupuesto más decente", y al menos esta vez, eso fue que lo pasó con: Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II.

When I saw the first Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey movie, I felt like it was a gore comedy. It wasn't enjoyable, it wasn't a good movie. But, Gore movies or Slashers, for the most part, are not made for everyone's taste. If anything, films with small budgets don't deserve so much punishment either; the idea is to enjoy them, even if the special effects or camera shots are horrible. It's not sarcasm, really XD.
I admit that slashers are just that: slashers. At least I've enjoyed a few films of this genre. Many of the films that derive from this one are, at least my opinion, for amateur people (and I include myself, XD). However, sometimes low-budget slashers become a boom thanks to their "more decently budgeted" sequels, and at least this time, that's what happened with: Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II.
Blood and Honey II toma los argumentos de su predecesora y los eclosiona en una historia totalmente renovada, con una premisa mucho más encaminada y un personaje principal (Christopher Robin) con más profundidad humana que su anterior versión. De un solo plumazo, pero de forma inteligente, la película predecesora desaparece en lo absoluto, pero no por eso se extingue la línea argumental. Mirarás el regreso de un Winnie-the-Pooh mucho más sangriento, más vengativo, pero con más propósito: ya no se trata de una simple venganza por amistad.
La película tiene sus buenas escenas dantescas, acompañadas de una atmósfera oscura y siniestra. Los animalitos monstruosos de los cien acres ya no parecen criaturas de chiste: ahora sí infunden terror, o al menos más terror que antes. Se explica, además, su origen. El film intentará sorprenderte con ciertas revelaciones, con algunas bajas lamentables y otras no tanto. Hay más calidad, sí, pero no deja de ser un Slasher. Si estás buscando algo de academia, entonces Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II no es para ti. Por el contrario: si solo quieres disfrutar de un Slasher sangriento, entonces pase adelante, XD.

Blood and Honey II takes the plots of its predecessor and hatches them into a totally revamped story, with a much more focused premise and a main character (Christopher Robin) with more human depth than its previous version. In a single, but clever stroke, the predecessor film disappears at all, but that doesn't extinguish the storyline. You'll see the return of a Winnie-the-Pooh much bloodier, more vengeful, but with more purpose: it's no longer about simple revenge for friendship.
The movie has its good Dantean scenes, accompanied by a dark and sinister atmosphere. The little monstrous animals of the hundred acres no longer look like joke creatures: now they are terrifying, or at least more terrifying than before. Their origin is also explained. The film will try to surprise you with certain revelations, with some unfortunate casualties and others not so much. There's more quality, yes, but it's still a Slasher. If you're looking for some academia, then Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II is not for you. On the contrary: if you just want to enjoy a bloody Slasher, then go ahead, XD.
Christopher Robin, buscando olvidar la masacre de la que fue testigo gracias a Winnie-the-Pooh, intenta sumergirse en la negación de su pasado, aunque eso le dure muy poco. En el bosque de los cien acres, Pooh y sus monstruosos amigos tienen unas enormes ansias de sangre. Bajo la sombra de la verdad o la mentira, mascullan sus ganas de lanzarse a cazar humanos, o al menos un humano en particular. Una pequeña revuelta hará que, tras una espera larga, los nada agradables animales humanoides vayan a detonar su venganza... Christopher tendrá la dura tarea de huir y alertar a los incrédulos, sin conocer que detrás de todo el horror que se avecina, se esconde un secreto que lo cambiará todo.
Pude predecir algunas cosas de la trama; pero eso no la hizo menos entretenida. Entre cada cosa, mucho rojo. Un buen rojo. Esta secuela es más de culto: mejor hecha. Casi siempre, cuando veo algo gore, no presto atención a los detalles: solo lo disfruto. Pero reconozco el esfuerzo que han hecho los creadores de Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II para rescatar lo que al principio no era de buen gusto.

Now then... What's the movie about?
Christopher Robin, seeking to forget the massacre he witnessed thanks to Winnie-the-Pooh, tries to immerse himself in denial of his past, though that is short-lived. In the Hundred Acre Wood, Pooh and his monstrous friends have an enormous bloodlust. Under the shadow of truth or lies, they mumble their desire to hunt humans, or at least one human in particular. A small revolt will make that, after a long wait, the unpleasant humanoid animals are going to detonate their revenge... Christopher will have the hard task of fleeing and alerting the unbelievers, without knowing that behind all the horror that is coming, there is a secret that will change everything.
I could predict some things about the plot; but that didn't make it any less entertaining. In between everything, a lot of red. Good red. This sequel is more cult: better made. Almost always, when I watch something gore, I don't pay attention to the details: I just enjoy it. But I recognize the effort the makers of Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II have made to salvage what was initially not in good taste.
Ahora bien, hay que reconocer que la película tiene sus defectos. Pero yo no la vi para buscarlos, XD. Solo me senté en mi sofá a disfrutarla, con gratas sorpresas. Me gustó mucho y creo que, si amas el género slasher, también te gustará. Parece algo retorcido mirar lo que es cuento infantil en una obra de horror del nuevo siglo, pero algunas cosas, por más extrañas que parezcan, merecen un poco de nuestra atención... creo que el horror es eso: infiltrar miedo hasta en lo que parece inocente.
Winnie-the-Pooh ha regresado, y no precisamente a comer miel... de algo puedes estar seguro: una trampa para osos nunca había sido tan útil para el oso en cuestión, XD.

Now, admittedly, the movie has its flaws. But I didn't watch it to look for them, XD. I just sat on my couch to enjoy it, with pleasant surprises. I liked it a lot and I think, if you love the slasher genre, you'll like it too. It seems a bit twisted to look at what is children's storytelling in a new century horror work, but some things, no matter how strange they seem, deserve a bit of our attention... I think that's what horror is all about: infiltrating fear even in what seems innocent.
Winnie-the-Pooh is back, and not exactly eating honey.... of one thing you can be sure: a bear trap has never been so useful for the bear in question, XD.
