Uds. no saben, ya el simple hecho de escribir ese ♥ al final del título representa muchísimo. Meses y meses sin poder escribir mis post tranquilamente desde un teclado, sino trabajando incómodamente por ti teléfono. Esto por supuesto ocasiono que bajara la frecuencia de mis post, porque para mi parte de esa terapia diaria de escribir en mi blog/diario, era poder hacerlo tocando las teclas de la computadora. Esta sensación definitivamente no te la da la pantalla de un móvil.
Pero bueno les cuento todo desde el inicio... nosotros tenemos 2 computadoras de mesa y esta laptop que me la envió mi hermano a mediados del año pasado cuando se vinieron mis hermanos a Venezuela.
Solo pudimos usarla un par de veces porque luego apareció un error que no teníamos ni idea de qué era y no pudimos solucionar. Desde entonces estuvo guardada. Mientras, usábamos las computadoras de mesa. Pero con los apagones de electricidad se nos dañaron ambas. Simplemente no quisieron encender más.
Es aquí cuando comienza el martirio para mi, sobre todo al estar en riesgo la información que estaba dentro de los discos. Por falta de recurso en esos momentos nos tocó quedarnos así y hacer todo desde los teléfonos.

You have no idea, just writing that ♥ at the end of the title means so much. Months and months without being able to write my posts comfortably from a keyboard, instead working awkwardly on your phone. This, of course, caused me to post less frequently, because for me, part of that daily therapy of writing in my blog/journal was being able to do it by touching the computer keys. A mobile screen definitely doesn't give you that feeling.
But anyway, let me tell you everything from the beginning... we have two desktop computers and this laptop that my brother sent me in the middle of last year when my siblings came to Venezuela.
We were only able to use it a couple of times because then an error appeared that we had no idea what it was and couldn't fix. Since then, it's been stored away. In the meantime, we used the desktop computers. But with the power outages, both of them broke down. They simply wouldn't turn on anymore.
This is when my ordeal began, especially since the information on the hard drives was at risk. Due to a lack of resources at the time, we had no choice but to do everything from our phones.
Hace algunas semanas había averiguado un sitio cerca de mi trabajo donde reparan computadoras y como justo tenía los fondos como para mandar a chequear alguno de los equipos, decidí irme con la laptop de sorpresa.
Ni mi esposo ni mi hijo sabían de esto sino hasta que despertaron y les conté. Esto fue hace dos días y el plan era que me lo entregaran el mismo lunes.
Al técnico evaluar la laptop me dijo que con un formateo podría solucionarse el problema y esto le demoraba un par de horas. Mientras yo podría ir a dar mis clases y de salida pasar por ella.
Pero el destino tenía otros planes, pues al salir me fui a una tienda de zapatos, pues necesito comprar unos para mi y para mi hijo por el regreso a clases.
Y mientras tomaba esta foto para enseñarle a mi hijo los modelos, hubo un bajón de luz horrible. Resultó que una de las líneas de electricidad se había dañado y ni yo ni el técnico podríamos trabajar así.
Me envió un mensaje informando lo sucedido y me dijo que al día siguiente podía entregarmela.
A few weeks ago, I found a place near my work that repairs computers, and since I had the money to send one of the computers in for a checkup, I decided to surprise them by taking my laptop there.
Neither my husband nor my son knew about this until they woke up and I told them. This was two days ago, and the plan was for them to return it to me on Monday.
When the technician examined the laptop, he told me that a format would solve the problem and would take a couple of hours. He said I could go teach my classes and pick it up afterward.
But fate had other plans. After leaving work, I went to a shoe store because I needed to buy some shoes for myself and my son for back to school.
And while I was taking this picture to show my son the different styles, there was a terrible power outage. It turned out that one of the electrical lines had been damaged, and neither I nor the technician could work under those conditions.
He sent me a message informing me of what happened and said he could return it the next day.
Ayer me tocaba ir a dar clases en un plan vacacional por la mañana y al salir podía pasar por la laptop para traerla a casa, ahora solo tocaba esperar que el técnico hubiera terminado con la reparación.
Por suerte le escribí y me dijo que efectivamente tenía todo casi listo y que podía ir por ella. Así que muy emocionada fui hasta allá. Me tocó esperar un poco a que terminara de instalar unos programas y drivers y por fin me la entregaron.
Al llegar a casa pudimos encenderla un ratito hasta que se nos fue la electricidad... tocó esperar nuevamente. En el proceso llovió y todo, así que mi perrita y yo estábamos chismeando bien a gusto desde la sala para entretenernos. jajaja
Finalmente cuando llegó de nuevo la electricidad pudimos encenderla y lo primero que hice fue abrir mi cuenta de Hive. Estoy bien feliz y emocionada por poder volver a la frecuencia de mis post, a trabajar más cómodamente y que mi familia pueda de igual forma disfrutar nuevamente lo que es tener una computadora. ♥
Yesterday I was scheduled to teach a class in a summer program in the morning, and afterward I could pick up my laptop to bring it home. Now I just had to wait for the technician to finish the repair.
Luckily, I messaged him, and he said he had almost everything ready and that I could come get it. So, very excited, I went over there. I had to wait a little while for him to finish installing some programs and drivers, and finally, they gave it back to me.
When I got home, we were able to turn it on for a bit until the power went out... we had to wait again. It even rained during the process, so my dog and I were chatting comfortably in the living room to keep ourselves entertained. hahaha
Finally, when the power came back on, we were able to turn it on, and the first thing I did was open my Hive account. I'm so happy and excited to be able to get back to posting regularly, to work more comfortably, and for my family to be able to enjoy having a computer again. ♥
