Sábado con electricidad (Parte II) || Electrifying Saturday (Part II)

¡Hola Chicos!

Hi everyone!

Working lately has been quite an ordeal, as for the past two months I’ve been struggling with power outages in the city center starting at 1:00 PM.

That is my usual working time, and the worst part is that the days I teach classes coincide with the days these outages occur.

But a miracle happened this past week: luckily, I was able to work inside my shop—something that hadn't happened in a long time.

I felt tense all morning, not knowing when the power might go out, but by midday, I felt like I had already won half the battle.

Then came the question of whether the power would be cut during the afternoon—which is what usually happens and when I get the most stressed.

Fortunately for me, the power didn't go out at any point, and we were able to have a relatively normal day. I emphasize this because, even on days without full outages, we still deal with those dreaded voltage fluctuations—sudden, drastic spikes or drops that often shut down electrical equipment or even damage it.

We didn't escape that issue entirely, but luckily, we remained comfortable throughout the day. As for activities, we worked on a few things—such as Inktober—with some students who I knew might struggle to grasp the instructions on their own; I felt it was better to tackle that during class.

Everyone did a great job, although I didn't take as many photos as I would have liked because I had to lend out my phone to view references, and that interferes with documenting the classes. I’ve already come up with an alternative for this issue and hope to put it into practice this coming week.

I was happy to have a "normal" week regarding the whole electricity situation, because these have been really tough days that made me have serious doubts and tested my ability to solve and face huge problems.

I was quite nervous when I left because the weather had turned nasty. It was awful out—threatening rain—but luckily, I managed to get out of the city center and make it home safe and sound.
