Sábado de trabajo y mucho arte || A Saturday of work and plenty of art

Las cosas han ido mejorando en Lakrearte en las últimas dos semanas porque por fin hemos podido tener jornadas laborales normales, es decir, no se nos está yendo la electricidad por las tardes en el local. Esto es algo que me ha generado mucha calma porque ¡dios!, semanas anteriores las angustia de tener que dar clases sin electricidad o suspender me tenía angustiada.

Para esta semana de clases tenía planificado continuar trabajando con la lámina enorme que tenemos en la entrada del local, que iniciamos a pintarla en el mes de abril y que por un buen tiempo tuvimos en el olvido, y también hacer actividades relacionadas con la temporada de Halloween.

Things have been improving at Lakrearte over the last two weeks because we’ve finally been able to have normal workdays—meaning the power no longer cuts out at the studio in the afternoons. This has brought me a great sense of relief; honestly, in previous weeks, the anxiety of having to teach classes without electricity—or having to cancel them altogether—was really distressing.

For this week’s classes, I had planned to continue working on the massive panel we have at the studio entrance—which we started painting back in April but then left forgotten for quite some time—as well as to carry out some activities themed around the Halloween season.

Los sábados son días que tienen dos energías diferentes. Las mañanas están llenas de vocecitas de niños echando cuentos, risas, juego y en ocasiones hasta carreras y juegos de futbol jajaja. Estuvimos trabajando con el Inktober y unas obras tenebrosas.

Saturdays are days that hold two different kinds of energy. The mornings are filled with the little voices of children telling stories, laughter, play—and sometimes even races and soccer games, hahaha! We’ve been working on Inktober, creating some rather spooky pieces.

Por la tarde la energía es mas tranquila porque son las alumnas más grandes. Esta llena de cuentos de sus liceos, escuchar música y disfrutar el arte.

Las chicas me ayudaron a arreglar los pequeños desastres que habían hecho los pequeños en la lámina 😅 y estuvieron trabajando en obras relacionadas al tema del momento. Todo quedó súper genial.

A pesar de que yo no pinto durante las clases, disfruto mucho el conversar con mis alumnos, guiarlos y estar rodeada de pintura, pinceles y obras de arte. ♥

Estoy tratando también de tomarme un tiempo para mi, para crear, y ahora que ya salí de ese encargo tan grande que tuve en el mes de septiembre y parte de octubre, espero poder volver a plasmar mi arte sobre cualquier superficie. No se imaginan la cantidad de cosas que quiero hacer.

In the afternoon, the energy is calmer because the students are older. It’s filled with stories about their high schools, listening to music, and enjoying art.

The girls helped me tidy up the little messes the younger children had left on the paper 😅, and they worked on pieces related to our current theme. Everything turned out great!

Even though I don’t paint during class, I truly enjoy talking with my students, guiding them, and being surrounded by paints, brushes, and works of art. ♥

I’m also trying to set aside some time for myself—to create—and now that I’ve finished that major project I was working on throughout September and part of October, I hope to get back to expressing my art on all sorts of surfaces. You have no idea how many things I want to do!
