Hello hivers. The weather wasn't steady yesterday, it rained in the early hours, the morning was sunny, and then a downpour hit in the afternoon 🌬️🌧️😬, well, just another day at the office, a very normal thing here in the tropics 😂. At midday, we had our usual daily power outage 🙄🤦🏻♀️, that means six hours without electricity, so I took the opportunity to do something productive, drawing. I got out my oil pastels and got to work 🖍️😃.

La tarde se empezó a poner nublada así que elegí dibujar algo que le hiciera contraste, una escena soleada jejeje. Utilicé cartulina de construcción azul, un lápiz blanco para hacer el boceto, creyones óleo pastel y algunos lápices de colores.
It started getting cloudy in the afternoon, so I chose to draw something that would contrast with that, a sunny scene, hehehe. I used blue construction paper, a white pencil for the sketch, oil pastels, and some colored pencils.
Para intensificar esta escena veraniega elegí tres colores que transmiten toda la calidez y la luz del sol, amarillo, anaranjado y rojo. El primer paso fue resaltar con amarillo las zonas donde el sol más se refleja, complementar con el naranja y por último, sombrear con el rojo.
To intensify this summery scene, I chose three colors that convey all the warmth and light of the sun: yellow, orange, and red. The first step was to highlight the areas where the sun reflects most strongly with yellow, complement them with orange, and finally, add shading with red.
Quise que el cabello fuese a la par con esos colores así que le puse amarillo, después le agregué azul y rojo.
I wanted the hair to match those colors, so I made it yellow, then added blue and red.
En los días calurosos es importante hidratarse así que una limonada es excelente para refrescar el cuerpo mientras se disfruta de un día frente al mar 🍋🌊. Con una mezcla de beige, amarillo ocre y rosa pálido fuí dándole color a la arena, para el cielo, un lindo azul celeste.
Staying hydrated is important on hot days, so lemonade is perfect for cooling off while enjoying a day by the sea 🍋🌊. I colored the sand using a blend of beige, ochre yellow, and pale pink, and chose a lovely sky blue for the sky.
El mar no es de un solo color sino el reflejo de varias tonalidades, para lograr ese efecto utilicé azul turquesa, azul celeste y verde agua en la parte más cercana a la orilla, y varios azules mas oscuros para la parte mas profunda. Solamente tengo dos tonos azul de óleos pastel así que los lápices de colores me ayudaron a complementar para conseguir el resultado deseado.
The sea is not a single color but a reflection of various shades, to achieve this effect, I used turquoise, sky blue, and aqua green for the area closest to the shore, and several darker blues for the deeper water. I only have two shades of blue oil pastels, so colored pencils helped me fill in the gaps and achieve the desired result.
Nada como un día de relax bajo el sol de una playa tranquila disfrutando del momento presente junto al sonido de las olas y las aves pescadoras, al aroma marino que trae la brisa y el placer de saborear una deliciosa y fría limonada, sin prisa, y dejando las preocupaciones bien lejos 😌. ¿Qué les parece el resultado final? Definitivamente que provoca estar ahí 🌊🏖️😏.
There’s nothing like a relaxing day under the sun on a quiet beach, savoring the present moment with the sound of the waves and seabirds, the salty sea breeze, and enjoying a delicious, ice-cold lemonade, all without a rush and leaving worries far behind 😌.
