On Wednesday morning I was up around 5:30AM after a poor night’s sleep. I got my post up, fed myself and the cat and got the laundry folded and put away, under supervision. But then he decided the ties on my pajama bottoms were too enticing and ended up spiking my hand so he got air mailed to the floor. Spiking for any reason isn’t allowed.
I sat down for a while and decided I wasn’t going to make it until after Halloween and got up to put my Christmas music on the Crosley. It’s all my #2 intern’s fault as she has been singing Christmas music for a couple weeks now… I had been gifted this and didn’t have a manual. I couldn’t get the record player to work properly, so I sat down and found a manual.
Most of the manuals I found online were without text. How useful is that? The one with text didn’t allow printing, so I screen shot all the pages and pasted them into a word doc. This kept me busy for well over an hour.
But I finally figured out what I was doing wrong (one must take the protective cover off the needle…sigh) and was able to play several of the records.
Later on I got up and got the kitchen cleaned up. But I spent most of the afternoon dozing in the chair.
I’d thawed out a chicken breast and went to the freezer room to get vegs and bone stock for a soup. I also added garlic, thyme, parsley, a bay leaf, and celery salt.
There was no recipe. There’s enough leftover to put a couple meals in the freezer.
I had kept the wood stove going all day as it was cloudy and 50’sF. I got the masonry heater going and was in bed by 8PM.
My son took this of the sunset
On Thursday I have to start the bills/budget, clean up the kitchen, and get a shower and ready for the day. My #4 helper comes early afternoon and I’m hoping to finish all the windows and doors, get the screens put away properly, get my summer clothes put away and the winter ones out, and have her vacuum the first floor.
So another busy day, as usual…
