The News

We still have the crazy situation of the legacy coin riding higher, but at least $HIVE is up. We are still a way off where we were even at the start of this year, but anything to boost confidence ought to be good.

Last week was @hivefest in Barcelona and I have seen hardly any reports on it apart from @jza, @demotruk and @sk1920. From the very few photos I saw it seems we had even less people than last time, but I did spot a few familiar faces. This is probably a reflection of people being down about the price, but then there is so much going on these days. I thought the plan was to have Hivers connecting in from around the world, but I heard little about that.

I have been to four of these big events and they have got smaller. My first in Lisbon had a huge crowd, but a lot of those people are not around these days. We need to get that enthusiasm going again.

  • @rustedwax is a project by @skiptvads to create a mobile app for @scrobble.life. This will allow more people to log the music and other content they enjoy. I am mostly at my PC so I use the browser extension and have logged nearly 3000 tunes.
  • @chris-uk marked 7 years on Hive. I am sure many others are celebrating a lot of years here with some of us into our eleventh!
  • @jongolson used to do a podcast about this blockchain with @taskmaster4450. That ended a while ago, but he just did a little chat on @threespeak. I was contemplating restarting my old podcast and it looks like that platform should support podcast feeds. I tried it in Pocket Casts, but had some issues downloading episodes. Maybe @meno or someone else on the team knows more about this.
  • @buttcoins has made use of a DHF fund for AI tools to create BASECAMP that gives you some nice visual indications of the activity of Hive accounts. It may help in finding people to support or engage with. It is not publicly available yet, but looks great.

Hive in Meatspace

There is a meetup in London next month. Not everyone can fly to big events, but we can organise local ones to get people together. I have done a few of those myself.

The End

I had a little holiday recently that gave me the opportunity to write lots of posts about places we visited. @worldmappin gives us a way to put those on the map so others can see what is around. I logged a few National Trust properties. @nicklewis has his own project to log churches. We can use tags to build collections like this that make up a useful resource.

One of the wonders of Hive is that anyone can build something here. That can be an app or a community depending on your skills. What matters is that you are creating something that has use for others. In this world of AI we need things to connect people.

    Mobile app for any project seems to be a good strategy because the use of mobile only increases...

    at least $HIVE is up.

    That's why we - at the HiveFest - agreed we need to organise next one in Poland, Silesia, where the most Hive users within 100 km range are located. Also you should check @hivebeecon where we were able to gather 100 people at one point.

    I worry about people’s excitement for many things now, sad that Hive fest has been a bit lacking this time round. Let’s make the local meet-ups something to enjoy!

    I didn't hear anything about Hivefest either just a little build-up, but nothing from the actual event itself. I can remember the VR Hivefest; I still think that is something Hive should explore again for those unable to travel. But yes, more local meets should happen too :)

    I think the decline in attendance at Hive events is probably more concerning than the short-term price movements. Price may affect people's enthusiasm.

    My last Hivefest was in Lisbon too. I've been to a few other meetups around the UK and looking forward to next month's London meetup. Hopefully I'll see you there.

    Hive is welcoming builders with communities to support them. This is one of our biggest strengths.
