Hello friends! Today I bring you the review of one of those movies that from the beginning you think it's going to be absurd, but you want to know how much it will be. So here I am to give you my opinion about the movie called Robots.
Trama - Plot
Un mujeriego y una cazafortunas tienen que trabajar en equipo para atrapar a sus dobles robots, ya que es ilegal tener un robot con tu apariencia, porque se enamoraron y planean robarles la identidad. Así que ahora les va a tocar destruirlos, pero para ello deben encontrarlos primero. Una trama muy absurda si me lo preguntan. Pero así es.
A womanizer and a gold digger have to work as a team to catch their robot doubles, since it is illegal to have a robot with your appearance, because they fell in love and plan to steal their identity. So now it's up to them to destroy them, but to do so they must find them first. A very absurd plot if you ask me. But that's how it is.
En esta comedia romántica de ciencia ficción los robots llegaron para hacer más fácil la vida, sin contar el hecho de que le quitaron el empleo a muchas personas, sobre todo a inmigrantes. Los robots que se pueden tener son genéricos, y la verdad es que sus caras dan miedo. Está totalmente prohibido, y es penado por la ley, tener un robot que sea idéntico a su portador. Pero eso no detuvo a Charles de tener a C2, su robot idéntico que trabaja por él y, como le aburren las citas y solo quiere llegar a la parte donde se acuesta con la mujer, usa a C2 para eso y él se lleva la recompensa después. Lo mismo hizo Elaine cuando consiguió a E2, su robot idéntica que se encarga de acostarse con los hombres que Elaine usa para que la consientan y le compren bolsos y joyas caras que luego vende.
In this sci-fi romantic comedy, robots came along to make life easier, not to mention the fact that they took jobs away from many people, especially immigrants. The robots you can have are generic, and the truth is that their faces are scary. It is totally forbidden, and punishable by law, to have a robot that is identical to its wearer. But that didn't stop Charles from having C2, his identical robot that works for him and, since he's bored with dating and just wants to get to the part where he sleeps with the woman, he uses C2 for that and he gets the reward afterwards. So did Elaine when she got E2, her identical robot who is in charge of sleeping with the men Elaine uses to get them to pamper her and buy her expensive handbags and jewelry which she then sells.
Hasta que ellos mismos fueron los objetivos del otro. Pero no contaban con que sus robots se enamoraran y los pusieran en peligro. Así que ahora empieza la carrera a contrarreloj de tratar de detenerlos antes de que las autoridades se den cuenta y los manden a prisión.
Until they themselves were each other's targets. But they didn't count on their robots falling in love and putting them in danger. So now begins the race against time to try to stop them before the authorities catch on and send them to prison.
Reseña - Review
El motivo por el que me decidí a ver esta película fue el expresado anteriormente. Quería saber qué rayos era esa trama. Tuve el plus extra de que la actriz protagónica fuera Shailene Woodley, ya que es una actriz que me gusta mucho.
The reason I decided to see this movie was the reason stated above. I wanted to know what the heck that plot was. I had the extra bonus of the lead actress being Shailene Woodley, as she is an actress I really like.
Esta película no es mala si sabes lo qué esperar, si esperas una súper trama o algo rebuscado, la vas a odiar. Pero como no esperaba nada, al final solo me concentré en disfrutarla. Tuvo momentos muy divertidos y otros que no tenían ni medio sentido.
This movie is not bad if you know what to expect, if you expect a super plot or something stilted, you're going to hate it. But since I wasn't expecting anything, in the end I just concentrated on enjoying it. It had some very funny moments and others that didn't make half sense.
También vi cierta parodia a lo que hace Estados Unidos con sus inmigrantes, sobre todo los mexicanos, que los expulsan de su país y construyen muros para que no pasen. Para que luego terminen siendo el país al que deben recurrir para escapar de sus propias leyes.
I also saw a certain parody of what the United States does with its immigrants, especially Mexicans, who expel them from their country and build walls to keep them out. So that they end up being the country they must turn to in order to escape their own laws.
Siempre me llama la atención cuando un actor o actriz tiene que actuar de dos personajes en la misma película. Me parece que lo hacen muy bien cuando logran ponerles diferentes personalidades a sus personajes, ya que esto los hace ver como si fueran otras personas quienes los encarnan. No sé si logro explicarme bien.
It always strikes me when an actor or actress has to play two characters in the same movie. It seems to me that they do it very well when they manage to put different personalities to their characters, since this makes them look as if they were other people who embody them. I don't know if I can explain myself well.
Sin embargo, la trama tiene algunos vacíos y situaciones sin sentido. Pero todo fue lo esperado, me agrado el final, aunque lo sentí un poco apresurado. De todos modos disfruté bastante de la película con sus errores y sus aciertos.
However, the plot has some gaps and nonsense situations. But everything was as expected, I liked the ending, although I felt it was a bit rushed. Anyway, I quite enjoyed the movie with its mistakes and its successes.
