¡Hola a todos! En el día de hoy les voy a dejar mi opinión sobre la segunda temporada de la serie Bridgerton.
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to leave you my opinion about the second season of the Bridgerton series.
Trama - Plot
La serie es una adaptación de los libros de Julia Quinn y se centra en los Bridgerton, una respetada familia de nobles en la época londinense de las altas sociedades, conformada por 8 hermanos y su madre. Cada libro narra la historia de amor de uno de estos 8 hermanos y, por lo tanto, la serie apunta a lo mismo. En la temporada pasada conocimos a Daphne Bridgerton, la mayor de las hermanas mujeres, no así la hija mayor de la familia, y su historia de amor con el Duque Simon Basset. En esta segunda temporada conoceremos la historia del hijo mayor, Anthony Bridgerton y Kate Sharma. Él heredó el título de Vizconde tras el fallecimiento de su padre en un trágico incidente cuando todavía era casi un niño y tuvo que hacerse cargo de su familia, 6 hermanos pequeños y 1 que venía en camino. Además de lidiar con su nuevo título no deseado, tuvo que ver como su madre se consumía por la tristeza de haber perdido a la persona que amaba. Ese suceso lo marcó para siempre y se dijo que no quería pasar por lo mismo que ella, así que cuando llegara el momento solo iba a buscar un matrimonio por conveniencia y no por amor. Con una nueva temporada de presentaciones de jóvenes en sociedad, la reina escoge a su nuevo diamante, Edwina Sharma, y él decide cortejarla, pero nunca se imaginó que tendría que lidiar con una hermana mayor sobreprotectora que le hará las cosas bastantes difíciles, aunque también, le despertara otro sentimiento que él ansiaba evitar.
The series is an adaptation of the books by Julia Quinn and focuses on the Bridgerton, a respected family of nobles in London's high society era, consisting of 8 siblings and their mother. Each book tells the love story of one of these 8 siblings and, therefore, the series aims for the same. Last season we met Daphne Bridgerton, the eldest of the female siblings, but not the eldest daughter of the family, and her love story with Duke Simon Basset. In this second season we will learn the story of the eldest son, Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma. He inherited the title of Viscount after his father passed away in a tragic incident when he was still almost a child and had to take care of his family, 6 younger siblings and 1 on the way. In addition to dealing with his new unwanted title, he had to watch as his mother was consumed by the sadness of having lost the person she loved. That event marked him forever and he told himself that he didn't want to go through what she went through, so when the time came he was only going to seek a marriage of convenience and not love. With a new season of young society introductions, the queen chooses her new diamond, Edwina Sharma, and he decides to court her, but he never imagined he would have to deal with an overprotective older sister who will make things quite difficult for him, but also, awaken another feeling he was anxious to avoid.

Esta segunda temporada fue bastante esperada por el público que vio la primera y se sumergió por completo en esta historia de nobles y realeza, bailes y vestidos coloridos y vibrantes de corte clásico e historias de amores que te hacen suspirar hasta el hartazgo deseando que venga un vizconde y te diga que sos la ruina de su existencia y la fuente de todos sus deseos.
This second season was eagerly awaited by the audience that watched the first one and was completely immersed in this story of nobles and royalty, colorful and vibrant dances and dresses of classic cut and love stories that make you sigh to your heart's content wishing that a viscount would come and tell you that you are the bane of his existence and the source of all his desires.
No sé si me gusto más que la primera, pienso que cada una tiene su propia trama cautivadora. En esta ocasión la idea de esquivar el amor en pos de cumplir con los deberes y las responsabilidades familiares que te otorga un título importante hacía que me frustrara la mayoría del tiempo. Sin embargo, la historia de Anthony y Kate hizo vibrar mi corazón, me hizo sentir verdadero anhelo por un romance de época. Aunque también me causó cierta tristeza que todo se haya complicado a tal punto al que se llegó. Esas miradas furtivas y penetrantes, los roces inocentes, las respiraciones agitadas, el corazón palpitando acelerado. La cámara se encarga de mostrarnos todos estos detalles bien construidos para hacerte sentir las emociones que están atravesando los personajes en cada escena. Eso es algo que me fascina. Además tengo que destacar la química entre estos actores, Jonathan Bailey (Anthony) y Simone Ashley (Kate). Si hay algo que se necesita a la hora de interpretar un romance es llevarte bien con tu compañero y estos dos lo hacen a la perfección. Podemos contar con seguir viéndolos en las próximas temporadas.
I don't know if I liked it more than the first one, I think each one has its own captivating plot. This time around the idea of dodging love in pursuit of fulfilling the duties and family responsibilities that come with an important title made me frustrated most of the time. However, Anthony and Kate's story made my heart flutter, made me truly yearn for a period romance. Although it also caused me some sadness that it all got so complicated to the extent that it did. Those furtive, penetrating glances, the innocent brushes, the agitated breaths, the racing heart. The camera takes care of showing us all these well-constructed details to make you feel the emotions the characters are going through in each scene. That is something that fascinates me. I also have to highlight the chemistry between these actors, Jonathan Bailey (Anthony) and Simone Ashley (Kate). If there's one thing you need when playing a romance it's to get along with your partner and these two do it perfectly. We can count on continuing to see them in the coming seasons.
Otra cosa que me encanta es el soundtrack (parezco la loca de los soundtrack, ya sé, si leyeron otras de mis reseñas siempre los menciono, no puedo evitarlo). Esa mezcla de canciones actuales versionadas de manera clásica con orquestas y violines es todo lo que está bien en mi vida. A veces juego a intentar reconocer los temas. Y los escenarios, simplemente magníficos, me encanta todo el complemento visual que propone.
Another thing I love is the soundtrack (I sound like a soundtrack freak, I know, if you read my other reviews I always mention them, I can't help it). That mix of current songs covered in a classical way with orchestras and violins is everything that is right in my life. Sometimes I play around trying to recognize the tunes. And the sets, simply magnificent, I love all the visual complement it proposes.
Although I also have to criticize that there were characters that I used to like, but suddenly I found them a bit annoying. I share a lot of Eloise's ideals, but this season she was pretty unbearable for my taste. It's fine that that's your personality, but she could put in a little good will once in a while that didn't kill anyone. I understand not liking partnerships and all that is involved in being presented for other nobles to court you and you are expected to choose one to marry when you are not ready or have other much more important goals and objectives. However, I feel she became obsessed with the idea of getting to the truth of discovering Lady Whistledown. Remember that Lady Whistledown is a very popular writer who writes anonymously criticizing society. It is amazing that she is always aware of everything, which makes one suspect and think that she is someone close to the queen or important nobles.
Una trama que medio me aburría era la de los Featherington, una respetada familia ya no tan respetada luego del fallecimiento del señor Featherington que dejó a su familia al borde de la quiebra, con una viuda y 3 hijas solteras un primo lejano vino a hacerse cargo de ellas, pero la trama se va a tornar media complicada para todos ellos. El personaje de Penelope lo sentí un poco forzado, como que vi una parte de ella que no me gustó mucho, pero sin embargo la entiendo. Entiendo porqué hace lo que hace y me gusta que haya tenido el coraje suficiente para hacerlo.
A plot that kind of bored me was that of the Featherington, a respected family not so respected after the death of Mr. Featherington who left his family on the verge of bankruptcy, with a widow and 3 unmarried daughters a distant cousin came to take care of them, but the plot is going to become complicated for all of them. Penelope's character felt a bit forced, I kind of saw a part of her that I didn't really like, but nevertheless I understand her. I understand why she does what she does and I like that she was brave enough to do it.
También podemos ver los avances de la vida de los otros hermanos Bridgerton antes de que llegue su turno de ser los protagonistas principales. Como Benedict se dedica al arte, es el artista de la familia; Colin no sabe muy bien qué rumbo tomar en la vida; Eloise se siente confundida y enojada con otros y con ella misma. A Daphne la podemos ver como toda una duquesa realizada, si bien apareció poco tuvo momentos muy claves e importantes para la trama, me gusto mucho su intervención. Los demás hermanos todavía son unos pequeños y de Francesca no sé conoce mucho.
We also get to see the life previews of the other Bridgerton siblings before it is their turn to be the main protagonists. As Benedict is dedicated to art, he is the artist of the family; Colin doesn't quite know what direction to take in life; Eloise is confused and angry with others and with herself. Daphne we can see her as a fully realized duchess, although she didn't appear much she had very important and key moments for the plot, I really liked her intervention. The other siblings are still very young and we don't know much about Francesca.
En definitiva, por si no se había notado, amo los romances de época y por eso amo esta serie. Ya dije que es una adaptación de una saga de libros y si bien quiero leerlos desde que vi la primera temporada todavía no pude hacerlo. Espero poder hacerlo pronto. También espero que les haya gustado esta reseña y se animen a ver esta serie, si no lo han hecho.

In short, in case you hadn't noticed, I love period romances and that's why I love this series. I already said it's an adaptation of a book saga and while I've wanted to read them since I saw the first season I still haven't gotten around to it. I hope to be able to do so soon.
