Hello friends! Today I bring you the review of a very peculiar series that premiered a few weeks ago on the Prime Video platform and is based on a book of the same name, My Lady Jane.
Trama - Plot
Esta serie nos cuenta la historia de Jane Grey, una joven con ansias de conocimiento que anhela dedicarse a la medicina. Sin embargo, no se encuentra en el mejor de los siglos, su madre tiene otros planes para ella. Está a punto de casarse con alguien que no conoce y que no tiene tan buena fama, pero esto no es todo, sino que a su querido primo y rey de Inglaterra, Edward, lo están envenenando para tomar posesión del trono. En medio de intrigas políticas, familiares de dudosa lealtad, mentiras y secretos, y una guerra a punto de suceder entre Verdades y Edianos (personas que se pueden transformar en animales), es que se da esta trama llena de ocurrencia histórica y humor sarcástico con una pizca de fantasía que nos invita a reescribir la historia real de la época de la que fueron parte estos personajes.
This series tells the story of Jane Grey, a young woman with a thirst for knowledge who longs to become a doctor. However, she is not in the best of centuries, her mother has other plans for her. She is about to marry someone she does not know and who does not have such a good reputation, but this is not all, but her beloved cousin and king of England, Edward, is being poisoned to take possession of the throne. In the midst of political intrigues, relatives of dubious loyalty, lies and secrets, and a war about to happen between Truths and Edians (people who can transform into animals), is that this plot full of historical witticism and sarcastic humor with a pinch of fantasy that invites us to rewrite the real history of the time of which these characters were part.

Como una persona a la que le gusta leer y la fantasía me siento mal por no haber leído está historia, pero sin dudas ver esta serie me hizo conocerla y espero completar los huecos con su versión original. Ahora sí, como serie me pareció muy buena, tiene cierto encantó que te invita a estar atenta a los próximos acontecimientos.
As a person who likes reading and fantasy I feel bad for not having read this story, but no doubt seeing this series made me know it and I hope to fill in the gaps with its original version. Now yes, as a series I found it very good, it has a certain charm that invites you to be attentive to the next events.
Es como si te estuvieran narrando un cuento, no es algo nuevo escuchar las voces en off que te vayan narrando parte de la historia, pero se me hizo muy ocurrente la forma de contarlo en esta serie. Me pareció muy divertida y fresca de ver, por momentos es bastante hilarante y absurda. Pero la verdad es que la trama me encantó, quedé muy sorprendida, le da un giro inesperado a hechos históricos que ocurrieron.
It's as if they were telling you a story, it's not something new to hear the voiceovers narrating part of the story, but I found the way of telling it in this series very witty. I found it very funny and fresh to watch, at times it is quite hilarious and absurd. But the truth is that I loved the plot, I was very surprised, it gives an unexpected twist to historical events that occurred.
El nivel actoral que vi me pareció excelente o no sé si llamarlo así, pero hubo muchos personajes que sentí que destacaron y esto me encanta. Hay muy buenos villanos y antagonistas, me saco el sombrero con Mary y Frances, además de la pequeña Margareth. Algunos se hacían odiar de verdad, pero actúan tan bien que se los perdono.
The acting level I saw was excellent or I don't know if I should call it that, but there were many characters that I felt stood out and I love that. There are very good villains and antagonists, hats off to Mary and Frances, plus little Margareth. Some of them really made themselves hated, but they act so well that I forgive them.
Algo más para destacar es la química que sentí entre los protagonistas, acá Jane y Guildford, es todo lo que a las chicas nos gusta como dicen por ahí jajaja. Son una especie de enemigos al principio que se ven involucrados por un hecho de fuerza mayor, terminan haciendo un trato para divorciarse cuando se cumpla lo pactado, pero obviamente todo puede cambiar cuando se vayan conociendo y les gane la pasión.
Something else to highlight is the chemistry I felt between the main characters, here Jane and Guildford, it's everything we girls like as they say hahaha. They are kind of enemies at first that are involved by a force majeure, they end up making a deal to divorce when the agreement is fulfilled, but obviously everything can change when they get to know each other and passion wins them.
Fueron 8 capítulos muy dinámicos, con escenas de humor, acción, intriga y momentos apasionados. La verdad es que disfruté mucho de esta serie, de sus personajes y sucesos, es una buena manera de contar un poco de historia y hacerla divertida, aunque también absurda. Sin dudas está más que recomendada por mi parte. Ese final me dejó con muchas ansias de más, así que estoy segura que tendrá otra temporada.
They were 8 very dynamic chapters, with scenes of humor, action, intrigue and passionate moments. The truth is that I really enjoyed this series, its characters and events, it is a good way to tell a little bit of history and make it fun, although also absurd. Without a doubt it is more than recommended by me. That ending left me craving for more, so I'm sure it will have another season.
