Hello my dear cinephile friends! I hope you are very well, today I am here to share with you a movie a little different from the ones I am used to, but it was not so bad. This is Greenland, a catastrophe film released in 2020 and starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin and Roger Dale Floyd. I hope you like it.
¡Hola mis queridos amigos cinéfilos! Espero estén muy bien, hoy estoy por aqui para compartir con ustedes una película un poco diferente de las que estoy acostumbrada, pero que no estuvo tan mal. Se trata de Greenland, una película del cine catástrofe lanzada en el 2020 y protagonizada por Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin y Roger Dale Floyd. Espero sea de su agrado.
Plot / Trama
The film takes place in the middle of a catastrophe in which a comet is about to hit the Earth and cause a mass extinction, since although at first it was expected that it would not cause much damage, a fragment that falls first destroys much of it. the city of Florida, so they begin to alert that in 2 days the comet will impact completely destroying the earth, so our protagonist John Garrity will have to fight to reach one of the refuge bunkers and to survive with his wife and his son since despite having been selected to be located in a bunker, they miss the first plane and are separated since John must return for his son's medicine who is diabetic and then his wife and son are evacuated from the plane due to child's illness.
La película se desarrolla en medio de una catástrofe en la que un cometa está a punto de impactar en la Tierra y causar una extinción masiva, ya que aunque al principio se esperaba que no generara muchos daños, un fragmento que cae primero destruye gran parte de la ciudad de Florida así que comienzan a alertar que en 2 días el cometa impactará destruyendo totalmente la tierra por lo que nuestro protagonista John Garrity, tendrá que luchar para poder llegar a uno de los bunkers de refugio y poder sobrevivir junto a su esposa y a su hijo ya que a pesar de haber sido seleccionados para ser ubicados en un búnker, pierden el primer avión y se separan ya que John debe regresar por la medicina de su hijo que es diabético y luego su esposa y su hijo son evacuados del avión debido a la enfermedad del niño.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
This isn't the best disaster movie I've seen, but I'd say it was pretty good. I'm not a big fan of these movies but, during the quarantine since we had to stay at home and here in Venezuela we ran out of DirecTV so I started looking for movies to watch and we found this one interesting and we watched it as a family. The work of the cast in general was good since the characters are well developed, although I would say that the one I liked the most was John Garrity, because I used to finding Gerard Butler in this type of film and I think it's very good, because they are my dad's favorites, and he has seen several movies with this actor among the cast.
Esta no es la mejor película de desastres que he visto, pero diría que estuvo bastante bien. No soy muy fan de estas películas pero, durante la cuarentena ya que teníamos que quedarnos en casa y aquí en Venezuela nos quedamos sin DirecTV pues comencé a buscar películas para ver y esta nos pareció interesante y la vimos en familia. El trabajo del elenco en general estuvo bien ya que los personajes están bien desarrollados aunque diría que el que más me gustó fue John Garrity, ya que estoy acostumbrada a encontrarme a Gerard Butler en este tipo de películas y me parece muy bueno, ya que son de las favoritas de mi papá, y el si ha visto varias películas con este actor entre el elenco.
I liked the photography a lot, as well as the special effects which were up to the task. The story is also very interesting and engaging since it shows in a very real way what it would be like to experience a tragedy like this, the despair of the people and the chaos that this causes, so it is easy to get into the movie and that is a point in favor. Throughout the film there are many parts that caught my attention but I remember that the scene that struck me the most is when Allison Garrity (the protagonist's wife) goes into a store to get insulin for her son and suddenly looters come in killing many people, but she manages to escape with her son. Although as I said before, I'm not a big fan of this type of film and this is not the best film of the genre that I have seen, I would say that it was very good and we spent a good time watching it. I would very much like to recommend it to all my readers who have not seen it yet, I hope you enjoy it.
La fotografía me gustó bastante, al igual que los efectos especiales los cuales estuvieron a la altura. La historia también es muy interesante y enganchante ya que muestra de una manera bastante real como sería vivir una tragedia como esta, el desespero de la gente y el caos que esto ocasiona por lo que es fácil meterse dentro de la pelicula y ese es un punto a favor. A lo largo de la pelicula hay muchas partes que me llamaron la atención pero recuerdo que la escena que más me impactó es cuando Allison Garrity (la esposa del protagonista) entra a un local para conseguir insulina para su hijo y de repente entran saqueadores matando a muchas personas, pero ella logra escapar con su hijo. Aunque como dije antes, no soy muy fan de este tipo de películas y esta no es la mejor pelicula del género que he visto diría que estuvo muy buena y pasamos un buen rato viéndola. Me gustaría mucho recomendársela a todos mis lectores que todavía no la han visto, espero que la disfruten.
