La pregunta que planteo en el título no es retórica, realmente que tan detestable se puede ser? - esto lo digo porque esta serie tiene a uno de los personajes más despreciables que yo recuerde haber visto alguna vez porque si, esta persona es de lo peor en muchos sentidos de la vida. Cuando terminé de ver "His & Hers" quise seguir en la onda de las tramas que empujan al espectador al límite de la impaciencia y expectación para después, hacia el final de la historia, escupir todo el plot twist y dejarnos realmente atónitos y sorprendidos. Si a los que vieron la serie de Netflix antes nombrada les pareció una locura el final creo que deberían darse un paseo por esta historia, es atrapante y maquiavélica.
The question I pose in the title isn't rhetorical: how truly detestable can someone be? I say this because this series features one of the most despicable characters I can remember ever seeing. Yes, this person is the worst in many ways. When I finished watching "His & Hers," I wanted to continue with plots that push the viewer to the brink of impatience and anticipation, only to then, towards the end, unleash the full plot twist, leaving us truly astonished and surprised. If those who watched the aforementioned Netflix series thought the ending was insane, I think they should check out this story; it's captivating and Machiavellian.
Esta historia comienza con una madre, Marissa Irvine (Sarah Snook), buscando a su hijo que estaba en una tarde de juegos. Cuando llega a la dirección que le fue enviada a su teléfono por otra de las mamás se encuentra que en esa casa no hay ningún niño y la persona que vive allí no sabe nada al respecto. Claramente aquello es la peor pesadilla de toda madre por lo que el colapso de Marissa es inmediato. Entonces, ¿dónde está Milo? - bajo esa pregunta empieza a desarrollarse una investigación que pondrá patas para arriba a toda la familia Irvine y que poco a poco sacará a flote todos los sucios secretos de esta gente aparentemente "perfecta".
This story begins with a mother, Marissa Irvine (Sarah Snook), searching for her son, who had gone to play games one afternoon. Un thriller psicológico en toda regla en donde desde el mismo primer episodio inician las especulaciones, las subtramas y los comportamientos extraños de casi todos los protagonistas en su afán de querer llegar al final de todo pero a la vez tratando siempre de ocultar cosas y detalles que más adelante serán como una bola de nieve cayendo por una montaña, indetenibles y cada vez más grandes. El nivel de tensión que se vive es real porque las actuaciones son muy buenas, hay que decir que la calidad de interpretación es top en esta serie cosa que hace más fácil que creemos empatía con los personajes o que produzcamos una repulsión bien afincada.
A full-fledged psychological thriller where, from the very first episode, speculation, subplots, and the strange behavior of almost all the protagonists begin as they strive to reach the end of everything while simultaneously trying to hide things and details that will later snowball down a mountain, unstoppable and ever-growing. The level of tension is palpable because the acting is excellent; it must be said that the quality of the performances in this series is top-notch, making it easier to empathize with the characters or feel a deep-seated repulsion.
Uno de los detalles importantes es que desde muy temprano sabemos quién está detrás de todo, pero a ese rompecabezas le faltan piezas y una de ellas puede que esté entre esta familia. La serie se encarga de darnos pistas gracias a un guión muy bien escrito y pensado con una trama realmente oscura y pesada. Y es que la relación y las formas de ser de todos estas personas están moldeadas por eventos que alguna vez ocurrieron y que en el presente repercuten en todo lo que está sucediendo. Ya les digo que es imposible aburrirse, todo lo contrario, es un enganche total de principio a fin. Por un lado tenemos los problemas y secretos de toda esta familia que de un día para otro comienzan a derrumbarla poco a poco y por el otro la investigación policial que es muy cool y entretenida de ver.
One of the key details is that we know from very early on who's behind it all, but the puzzle is missing pieces, and one of them might be within this family. The series skillfully provides clues thanks to a well-written and thoughtful script with a truly dark and weighty plot. The relationships and personalities of all these people are shaped by past events that continue to impact everything happening in the present. I can tell you right now, it's impossible to get bored; on the contrary, it's completely captivating from beginning to end. On one hand, we have the problems and secrets of this family that, from one day to the next, begin to slowly unravel, and on the other, the police investigation, which is very cool and entertaining to watch.
¿Qué cosas estamos dispuestos a hacer para ser felices y estar tranquilos?, ¿cuál es el límite de la moralidad?, ¿el amor es justificativo suficiente para hacer todas esas cosas? - todas estas preguntas son las que uno se hace y que se plantean a lo largo de la trama. Obviamente hay un conflicto moral en casi toda la trama que nos hace cuestionarnos todo y eso es uno de los ganchos de la serie. Su final y la conclusión de todo les aseguro no se lo esperan, faltando dos episodios se empieza a destapar todo y aquello es sorpresa tras sorpresa. Otra vez los plot twist haciendo de las suyas.
What are we willing to do to be happy and at peace? What are the limits of morality? Is love sufficient justification for doing all those things? These are all questions that arise and are explored throughout the plot. Obviously, there's a moral conflict running through almost the entire story, making us question everything, and that's one of the series' hooks. I assure you, you won't see the ending and the conclusion of everything coming up. With two episodes left, everything starts to unravel, and it's one surprise after another. Once again, the plot twists are at their most effective.
Los personajes son de lo mejor. Atención a todos porque todos aportan algo a este enredo y desastre. No voy a decirles cual es el personaje detestable en cuestión para no condicionarlos pero rápidamente se van a comenzar a dar cuenta. Todas las actuaciones son de primer nivel además de que es muy buen cast. (Dakota Fanning, Abby Elliot, Michael Peña, Jack Lacy, etc). 8/10, es una gran serie, con un desarrollo y un final muy bien logrado. Tiene 8 capítulos y está en Prime Video. The characters are fantastic. Pay attention to each one because they all contribute something to this mess and chaos. I won't tell you which character is the most detestable so as not to influence your opinion, but you'll quickly start to realize it. All the acting is top-notch, and the cast is excellent (Dakota Fanning, Abby Elliott, Michael Peña, Jack Lacy, etc.). 8/10, it's a great series, with a very well-developed plot and ending. how good it looks! I didn't have her on my radar at all, but I love those psychological thrillers where nothing is what it seems and the whole family sweeps garbage under the rug. Plus, if Sarah Snook is there, it's already a guarantee of quality. I'm signing up to watch it on Prime this weekend, thanks for the recommendation!
He is terrible and to me quite unexpected! At least in the first episodes I loved all the other characters by the way especially the main women characters 💓
