Finalmente el día llegó, el día en que se estrenaba el final, en su primera parte, de una de las mejores series que he tenido la oportunidad de ver en mucho tiempo. Y miren que he visto unas cuantas series en mi vida pero sinceramente como esta han sido pocas, Breaking Bad de repente se le puede parecer un poco, pero de resto ha sido única bastante y sobretodo atrapante, quédense con esta última palabra porque creo que es la características más importante de este final de temporada.

Finally the day came, the day the first part of the finale of one of the best series I've had the opportunity to watch in a long time. And look, I've seen a few series in my life but honestly there have been few like this one, Breaking Bad can suddenly look a little like it, but otherwise it has been quite unique and above all catching, stay with this last word because I think it is the most important feature of this season finale.

Como supongo muchos sabrán esta cuarte temporada será la última de esta historia ya que Netflix, como cosa rara, decidió no renovarla para una quinta parte. Por lo que en vista de eso se decidió partir este final en dos partes, este primero que acabamos de ver y obviamente la parte final que será estrenada a lo largo de este año 2022. Fueron siete capítulos llenos de adrenalina y a la espera de los últimos siete que infiero serán el doble de emocionantes. Así que no demos más vueltas y hablamos un poco de una de las mejores tramas que hay en la actualidad.

As I guess many of you know this fourth season will be the last of this story since Netflix, as a rare thing, decided not to renew it for a fifth part. So in view of that it was decided to split this finale into two parts, this first one that we just saw and obviously the final part that will be released throughout this year 2022. There were seven chapters full of adrenaline and waiting for the last seven that I infer will be twice as exciting. So let's not give more laps and talk a little of one of the best plots there is today.

Para aquellos que no conozcan esta serie básicamente se trata de una familia que por diversas circunstancias terminan dedicándose al lavado de dinero de un poderoso cartel mexicano de la droga. Digo por diferentes circunstancias porque a lo largo de la serie han sucedido una cantidad de hechos que han llevado a la familia Byrde a estar donde están, es decir, no fue algo fortuito o de la noche a la mañana, todo fue gracias a decisiones malas, muy malas.

For those who do not know this series, it is basically about a family that for various circumstances end up laundering money for a powerful Mexican drug cartel. I say by different circumstances because throughout the series a number of events have happened that have led the Byrde family to be where they are, that is, it was not something fortuitous or overnight, it was all thanks to bad, very bad decisions.

Uno de los grandes aciertos de estos primeros siete episodios es que la fuerza y la intensidad, con respecto a la tercera temporada no se perdieron, al contrario vemos como capitulo tras capitulo la tensión de la que hablo en el titulo de la publicación va en aumento a un punto que como espectador la verdad es que la sentimos y esa sensación de hundirnos en nuestras sillas o sofás por la expectativa es algo muy real y que está muy presente.

One of the great successes of these first seven episodes is that the strength and intensity, with respect to the third season were not lost, on the contrary we see how chapter after chapter the tension of which I speak in the title of the publication is increasing to a point that as a viewer the truth is that we feel it and that feeling of sinking into our chairs or sofas by the expectation is something very real and that is very present.

Hay una nueva cara en el pueblo y ese es Javier (Alfonso Herrera), un tocayo, quien será un personaje de suma importancia para toda la trama. Un personaje impulsivo, frio, volátil y muy calculador que llega a Ozark para poner un poco más de peligro y sufrimiento, del que ya generalmente hay, a toda la historia. Me gustó la adición porque siempre es bueno que a pesar de ser la última temporada hayan decidido poner una cara nueva y que la personalidad encaja a la perfección con todo el contexto de la trama. Buen personaje, muy realista.

There is a new face in town and that is Javier (Alfonso Herrera), a namesake, who will be a character of utmost importance to the whole plot. An impulsive, cold, volatile and very calculating character who comes to Ozark to put a little more danger and suffering, than there is usually already, to the whole story. I liked the addition because it is always good that despite being the last season they have decided to put a new face and that personality fits perfectly with the whole context of the plot. Good character, very realistic.

Jonah Byrde, el hijo menor, toma otra dimensión en esta cuarta entrega. Mucho más maduro y más consciente de las cosas que suceden alrededor de su familia decide emprender su propio camino. Es increíble ver como un niño de catorce años puede llegar y hacer la cosas que verán a lo largo de los capítulos, en lo personal otro buen cambio de rol porque proporciona mucha más profundidad a la historia ya que mucha de las cosas son desencadenadas por él así que si, tienen que prepararse para quererlo pero también para odiarlo un poco. Al final de todo se entiende que muchas de esas actitudes tienen una razón de ser, ustedes serán los jueces.

Jonah Byrde, the youngest son, takes on another dimension in this fourth installment. Much more mature and more aware of the things that happen around his family, he decides to go his own way. It's amazing to see how a fourteen year old boy can come along and do the things you will see throughout the chapters, personally another good role reversal because it provides much more depth to the story as many of the things are triggered by him so yes, you have to be prepared to love him but also to hate him a little. At the end of it all it is understood that many of those attitudes have a reason to be, you be the judge.

Wendy sigue siendo la cabeza de esa familia, la que toma las decisiones en muchas ocasiones desde un punto de vista irracional, pero es que por personalidad así es ella. Acá la vemos haciendo lo que siempre ha hecho, mover los hilos a través del dinero y sobretodo de la manipulación. Marty es el calmado y el cabeza fría, el meticuloso que busca que no se le escape nada, algo así como el conciliador ante los arrebatos de su esposa. Sin duda una pareja que se complementa muy bien, digan lo que digan.

Wendy continues to be the head of the family, the one who makes decisions on many occasions from an irrational point of view, but that's just her personality. Here we see her doing what she has always done, pulling the strings through money and above all manipulation. Marty is the calm and cool-headed one, the meticulous one who tries not to let anything slip through his fingers, something like the conciliator in the face of his wife's outbursts. Undoubtedly a couple that complements each other very well, no matter what they say.

Pero la que sin duda se vuelve a llevar todos los focos es Ruth Langmore, que personaje tan impresionante y bien actuado por parte de Julia Garner. Explosiva pero muy en el fondo estoy seguro que tiene un corazón que no le cabe en el pecho. El tema con ella es simple y es que todo lo que ha vivido ha hecho que se cree en ella una coraza que no le permite confiar en todo el mundo. En esta primera parte de este final de serie sigue siendo una de las grandes protagonistas ya que TODAS las historias giran en torno a ella porque de alguna forma u otra forma parte de cada trama.

But the one who undoubtedly takes all the spotlight again is Ruth Langmore, what an impressive and well acted character by Julia Garner. Explosive but deep down I'm sure she has a heart that doesn't fit in her chest. The issue with her is simple and that is that everything she has been through has caused her to create in her a shell that doesn't allow her to trust everyone. In this first part of this series finale she continues to be one of the main characters as ALL the stories revolve around her because in one way or another she is part of every plot.

Y con la trama quiero ir cerrando. A mi parecer estos primeros siete episodios no defraudan en lo más mínimo porque la potencia de la historia se sigue manteniendo. Es alucinante como gracias a un problema de la nada sale otro y así va, como una bola de nieve creciendo y los problemas se van haciendo más grandes e importantes lo que hace que la serie nunca tenga un respiro. Y esto pasa porque SIEMPRE está sucediendo algo, porque hay 3 o 4 historias en paralelo, cada una con sus contratiempos que hacen la atención sea al cien por ciento.

And with the plot I want to close. In my opinion, these first seven episodes do not disappoint in the least because the power of the story continues to be maintained. It's amazing how thanks to a problem out of nowhere another one comes out and so it goes, like a snowball growing and the problems become bigger and more important which makes the series never has a break. And this happens because something is ALWAYS happening, because there are 3 or 4 stories in parallel, each one with its setbacks that make the attention one hundred percent.

Eso es lo que agradezco, que esta historia de para mucho y que no se centre solo en una arista de la trama. Mucha acción, tensión, nervios, intriga y expectativa son algunas de las cosas que vivirán con este final. De las mejores series que he visto en mi vida y no saben lo impaciente que estoy por terminar de ver los siete capítulos restantes. A esta primera parte le doy un 9.5/10 porque lo tiene todo, es verdaderamente una joya entre contenido que existe hoy en día. Les dejo el tráiler para que con solo mirarlo se den cuenta todo lo que trae.

That's what I appreciate, that this story has a lot to offer and that it doesn't just focus on one side of the plot. Lots of action, tension, nerves, intrigue and expectation are some of the things you will experience with this finale. One of the best series I've seen in my life and I can't tell you how impatient I am to finish watching the remaining seven chapters. I give this first part a 9.5/10 because it has it all, it is truly a jewel among the content that exists today.
