Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.
**Hi friends, good vibes to all.
The last publication I brought around these parts was of a series belonging to HBO, well for today I want to repeat the formula but this time with a Spanish series quite rare, peculiar that will undoubtedly attract the attention of many people. I want to think that they have not seen it because the truth is not so well known or commercial but honestly when I saw it I was satisfied, with its small details, but satisfied at last.
30 Coins is a series entirely of horror, but a supernatural horror that the truth can hook you a little. For lovers of this genre I think you can get to like but I say that they have to be prepared for surprises that are going to get and is that its director, Alex de la Iglesia, is well known for giving certain twists of nuts as far as direction and effects are concerned. So let's see what this story is all about...
- Resumen // Summary.
This story focuses mainly on this person, Father Vergara (Eduard Fernandez), who is a Spanish priest who is on the run from a certain organization. An organization that compares in power to the Vatican which is in search of the 30 coins with which Judas Iscariot was paid to betray Jesus and which it is said that once they are all gathered they will give unimaginable power to whoever possesses them to be able to dominate the world and thus ignite chaos in the world.
Father Vergara is important because during an exorcism he gets the power of one of those coins and is therefore sought by Fabio Santoro (Manolo Solo), leader of that organization. In his escape Vergara manages to reach Pedraza, a town in Spain, which to the disgrace of all its inhabitants terrifying and inexplicable things begin to happen because of that coin, for example a child being born directly from a cow.
It is precisely from this moment when the series becomes a very religious horror but as I said before the director likes to experiment a little and with this series was no exception. Apart from the characteristic action we will see many demonic things that may be shocking for some but for the fans it will be like a little wink to the genre.
In short, the series develops throughout its 8 chapters, of approximately one hour of duration, in this town with various events that are turning its inhabitants upside down, with an organization determined to find the remaining coin and spinning all this with many paths of black and dark magic. We have several protagonists but the main ones are Elena (Megan Montaner), the mayor Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and Merche Gandía (Macarena Gómez) who will give head and shoulders to this sinister story.

- Opinion.
When I read the synopsis of this series I was not very convinced because usually the things that are done in this genre do not always go as expected or simply are not good, fortunately this was not the case with 30 Coins. A story with some very, very interesting twists that are not expected at all and that mystery that is emerging, mystery that they are solving.
The characters in general are very good and well constructed, perhaps the strongest of all both by character and by everything that happens throughout the story is "Merche", she goes through many moments and situations that make her act the way she does. Father Vergara also deserves mention, a strong personality and the pivot point of the whole series.
Now, the only negative thing that can be said is the exaggeration that is presented with the special effects that we are shown since in several passages we will see certain demonic creatures that logically go hand in hand with all the mystery that abounds in the series. Maybe some of those monsters in the end are not so necessary but well, the similarities with "Lovecraft" for example, are appreciated.
As I said this is a series that is on HBO and the truth is that it is worth watching whether or not a fan of the genre, I think it meets decently with what you can imagine. So yes, I recommend it to everyone leaving the trailer below.
