Hace creo que 10 días, el 3 de septiembre, se estrenó en la plataforma de Netflix lo que será la primera parte de la última temporada de la ya mítica serie española La Casa de Papel. A lo largo de cuatro temporadas hemos visto a todos estos personajes pasar de un atraco a otro acompañados de la respectiva persecución llevada a cabo por las fuerzas policiales y por prácticamente todo el gobierno de España sin mucho éxito la verdad.

I think 10 days ago, on September 3, was released on the Netflix platform what will be the first part of the last season of the already mythical Spanish series La Casa de Papel. Throughout four seasons we have seen all these characters go from one heist to another accompanied by the respective persecution carried out by the police forces and practically the entire government of Spain without much success the truth.

Llega entonces esta primera parte después de un final de la cuarta temporada un poco sorpresivo y lleno de giros y acontecimientos que marcarán la historia de allí en adelante. Esperaba ver más de lo mismo? - si. Lo he visto? - puede ser. Y es que la tónica de esta serie es claramente la supervivencia y lograr los objetivos o en este caso el robo a toda costa y para ello en esta quinta parte se nota que van a por todas y sin miedo a nada.

So here comes this first part after a somewhat surprising end to the fourth season, full of twists and turns of events that will mark the story from then on. Did you expect to see more of the same? - Yes. Have I seen it? - maybe. And is that the tone of this series is clearly the survival and achieve the objectives or in this case the robbery at all costs and for this in this fifth part it is noted that they go all out and without fear of anything.

Estamos en un punto de la serie en donde todo se está volviendo más y más complicado a medida que pasa el tiempo. Por un lado tenemos a Alicia Sierra, la policía que en principio fue la encargada de interrogar a Río, siguiéndole los pasos y cada vez más cerca del Profesor y a Tamayo quien con una forma muy particular de trabajar quiere dar caza a esta banda usando los métodos que sean necesarios, así se salgan un poco de los caminos de la ley.

We are at a point in the series where everything is becoming more and more complicated as time goes by. On the one hand we have Alicia Sierra, the policewoman who was originally in charge of interrogating Rio, following in his footsteps and getting closer and closer to the Professor and Tamayo who, with a very particular way of working, wants to hunt down this gang using whatever methods are necessary, even if they go a little off the beaten path.

Todo aquello sucede fuera, pero que sucede adentro? - pues el mismo caos reinante de siempre a cargo de personajes cuyos egos, emociones y aspiraciones son tan diferentes que muchas veces generan una plena de guerra dentro de otro campo batalla. Ahora con dos lideres, Tokio y Lisboa, la cosa de a ratos se pone tensa acompañadas de quizá el personaje más nefasto de todo el elenco, Arturo, dando quehacer cuando ve una mínima oportunidad.

All that happens outside, but what happens inside? - Well, it's the same chaos as always with characters whose egos, emotions and aspirations are so different that many times they generate a full-fledged war within another battlefield. Now with two leaders, Tokyo and Lisbon, things get tense at times, accompanied by perhaps the most nefarious character of the entire cast, Arturo, who gives his all whenever he sees the slightest opportunity.

En estos primeros cinco capítulos también se nos mostraron ciertos flashbacks al igual que en la temporada anterior solo que en esta oportunidad es para lograr varias cosas, dos en especifico. La primera es para dar un sentido más de pertenencia y nostálgico a uno de los personajes y la segunda para incluir a través de una pequeña historia a un elemento nuevo del que muy seguramente veremos más en la segunda parte.

In these first five chapters we were also shown certain flashbacks as in the previous season but this time it is to achieve several things, two specifically. The first is to give a sense of belonging and nostalgia to one of the characters and the second is to include through a small story a new element that we will surely see more of in the second part.

Con este nuevo personaje lo que hicieron fue allanar el camino y dar contexto para su inclusión más adelante. Eso si, seguimos viendo a Berlín por ahí lo que dice que al que para mi es el mejor personaje de toda la serie quieren continuar dándole cabida por lo bueno e increíble que es ese personaje.

With this new character what they did was to pave the way and give context for his inclusion later on. That said, we still see Berlin around, which says that what for me is the best character of the whole series, they want to continue giving him a place because of how good and incredible this character is.

En fin, disputas y malentendidos pero sobretodo un cariño sumamente arraigado entre todos los ladrones es lo que verán en esta parte inicial de una de las series que más gente ha logrado atrapar entre su trama llena de amor/violencia.

In short, disputes and misunderstandings but above all a deep-rooted affection between all the thieves is what you will see in this initial part of one of the series that has managed to catch more people among its plot full of love/violence.

Lo que según yo vemos esta vez es un bombardeo de sucesos y cosas que visualmente te impactan y sorprenden y todo eso es porque a nivel de guion o narrativo cada vez se va quedando a menos. Creo que en estos primeros episodios es donde más balas, municiones y armas he visto en comparación con las cuatro entregas pasadas, no les miento y puede que se lea un poco exagerado pero es que realmente es increíble lo que sucede en los dos primeros capítulos, por ejemplo.

What I think we see this time is a bombardment of events and things that visually shock and surprise you and all that is because the script or narrative level is becoming less and less. I think that in these first episodes is where I have seen more bullets, ammunition and weapons compared to the last four installments, I'm not lying and it may read a little exaggerated but it is really incredible what happens in the first two chapters, for example.

No vemos las ideas tan claras del lado de los atracadores y por primera observamos improvisaciones que no se si le hacen tanto bien a la trama; que a ver obviamente se pueden equivocar como todos pero esa no era lo tónica de siempre ya que estábamos acostumbrados a verlos siempre no uno sino 3 pasos por delante de la policía. A medida que van avanzando los episodios se comienza a acumular situación tras situación para que el ritmo no caiga y así el espectador siempre esté al filo de todo.

We do not see the ideas so clear on the side of the robbers and for the first time we observe improvisations that I do not know if they do so much good to the plot; that obviously they can make mistakes like everyone else but that was not the usual trend since we were used to see them always not one but 3 steps ahead of the police. As the episodes progress, they start to accumulate situation after situation so that the rhythm does not fall and the viewer is always on the edge of everything.

La cosa con La Casa de Papel es que llega momentos en que cansa y mucho. Esa sensación novedosa de las primeras 2 o 3 temporadas se perdió por completo al punto de pareciera que siempre es los mismo una y otra vez. En lo técnico y a nivel de efectos es brutal, eso hay que decirlo, se nota bastante la buena inversión que han realizado pero muchas veces eso no es suficiente.

The thing with La Casa de Papel is that it gets tired at times. That novel feeling of the first 2 or 3 seasons was completely lost to the point that it seems that it is always the same over and over again. Technically and in terms of effects it is brutal, that must be said, the good investment they have made is quite noticeable but many times that is not enough.

Han sido cinco temporadas donde el tema central es un atraco es lógico pensar que esa historia se agote y ya no de para más lo cual fue una de las razones por las que los creadores decidieron que esta sea la temporada final, era imposible seguir sacando trama de donde sencillamente no la había. No hay arco narrativo que pueda aguantar tanto de lo mismo.

There have been five seasons where the central theme is a robbery, it is logical to think that this story is exhausted and there is no more, which was one of the reasons why the creators decided that this is the final season, it was impossible to continue taking plot from where there simply was none. There is no narrative arc that can endure so much of the same.

En conclusión les digo que a pesar de todo lo dicho es una serie que sigue funcionando porque la acción es frenética de principio a fin y que como pasatiempo es más que aceptable. Además de que a estas alturas muchas personas ya le han agarrado cierto cariño a varios de sus personajes por lo que estoy seguro será otra de las razones por las que las personas la verán. A estos 5 episodios les doy un 7/10, tienen una duración de aproximadamente 45-50 minuto y la pueden ubicar en Netflix, les dejo por acá el tráiler:

In conclusion I say that despite all that has been said, it is a series that continues to work because the action is frenetic from beginning to end and as a pastime it is more than acceptable. In addition to the fact that at this point many people have already taken a certain affection for several of its characters so I'm sure it will be another reason why people will watch it.
