Hoy les traigo otra serie del pequeño grupo del que pretendo hablarles. La primera fue "The handmaid Tale" y esta segunda es un thriller increíblemente bueno llamado "Ozark" el cual tiene ciertos parecidos y algunos matices a "Breaking Bad", si no la has visto pues no pasa nada pero si lo hiciste, sabrás más o menos que esperar.

Al hablar de esta serie estamos diciendo que es un drama con todas sus letras a pesar de tener como protagonista a Jason Bateman, un actor que se ha caracterizado por interpretar papeles de comedia pero nada más alejado a la realidad. Bateman interpreta a Marty Byrde, un asesor financiero que termina lavando dinero para un cartel de drogas mexicano.

When we talk about this series we are saying that it is a drama with all its letters despite having as its protagonist Jason Bateman, an actor who has been characterized by playing comedy roles but nothing is further from reality. La historia básicamente comienza con un Marty lavando dinero para un importante cartel de drogas de origen mexicano en la ciudad de Chicago, Estados Unidos. Pasa que por diversas circunstancias toda esta operación empieza a generar mucho ruido al punto de involucrar a la policía y al FBI y es por tal motivo que él junto a su familia, la cual NO sabía nada de su "trabajo", deciden mudarse a Ozark, un pequeño pueblo en Missouri bastante alejado de la ley.

The story basically begins with a Marty laundering money for a major drug cartel of Mexican origin in the city of Chicago, United States. It happens that due to various circumstances this entire operation begins to generate a lot of noise to the point of involving the police and the FBI and it is for this reason that he and his family, who did not know anything about his "work", decide to move to Ozark , a small town in Missouri far removed from the law.

La cosa es que algunos de los "asesores financieros" de Marty habían robado 8 millones de dólares y eso desató la ira de un poderoso Narco el cual estaba buscando su dinero. De ahí la decisión de Ozark, allá se podía lavar el dinero más fácil y así poder recuperar esos millones. La cosa se complica cuando esos millones tienen que ser lavados en un pueblo donde la economía no es tan atractiva como se pensaba en un principio.

A la familia no le queda otro remedio que cooperar con este nuevo "trabajo" pero es su esposa Wendy la que decide ir de la mano con Marty hasta el final y ayudarlo en lo que fuera necesario para concretar la tarea, lavar esos ocho millones en tres meses. Tarea titánica porque el pueblo de Ozark no ve con muy buenos ojos que un nuevo "inversor" meta las manos en sus negocios de toda la vida.

The family has no choice but to cooperate with this new "job" but it is his wife Wendy who decides to go hand in hand with Marty until the end and help him in whatever is necessary to complete the task, wash those eight million in three months. Titanic task because the people of Ozark do not see with very good eyes that a new "investor" puts his hands in his businesses of a lifetime.

Como un plus a toda esta crónica, en Ozark existe el crimen organizado llevado a cabo por una familia, bastante conflictiva la verdad, en donde Ruth Langmore una astuta ladrona hará que las cosas se hagan un poco más complicadas de lo que realmente son.

Pero como la vida dentro de esta serie da muchas vueltas y son demasiadas cosas que pasan a lo largo de tres temporadas lo que les puedo decir es que al final de día esta pequeña muchacha termina siendo una gran protagonista en todo este entramado lleno de ilegalidades, corrupción, traiciones, asesinatos, etc.

But since life in this series takes many turns and there are too many things that happen over three seasons, what I can tell you is that at the end of the day this little girl ends up being a great protagonist in all this network full of illegalities, corruption, betrayals, assassinations, etc.

Es magistral. Es todo lo que tengo que decir. Si eres de las personas que les atrae este tipo de tramas no hay dudas que esta serie logrará engancharte. Tres temporadas de 10 capítulos cada uno. Si administras bien tu tiempo, serás capaz verla rápido hasta que comience la cuarta parte que se estima lo haga a lo largo de este año 2021.
