Las inteligencias artificiales ya están entre nosotros en muchos aspectos de nuestras vidas y probablemente ni lo sepamos. En países como Corea del Sur y Japón ya existen robots que te sirven el café o atienden una tienda, hace poco vimos como el sindicato de guionistas y actores entraron en una huelga precisamente porque se oponían al uso de estos elementos a la hora de hacer cine y televisión; es decir, ya estas inteligencias no son el futuro, son el mero presente porque cada día que pasa están más entre nosotros. Es por todo esto que decidí darle la oportunidad a The Creator, película que habla sobre lo que pudiera ser el futuro a corto plazo en lo que al uso de las IA se refiere.

Artificial intelligences are already among us in many aspects of our lives and we probably don't even know it. In countries like South Korea and Japan there are already robots that serve you coffee or attend a store, recently we saw how the union of screenwriters and actors went on strike precisely because they were opposed to the use of these elements when making movies and television; that is, these intelligences are not the future, they are the mere present because every day that passes they are more among us. This is why I decided to give The Creator a chance, a film that talks about what could be the future in the short term as far as the use of AIs is concerned.

Podemos estar de acuerdo en que estas IA pueden llegar a ser útiles para el humano, pero podrían llegar a ser capaces de reemplazarnos? - yo diría que si, de hecho creo que para ese allá vamos. Este film explora como será esa "guerra" o conflicto entre los humanos y las IA, de si seremos capaces de convivir con estas creaciones o como buena especie que extingue todo a su paso también los aniquilaremos de la faz de la tierra. Porque si, los humanos como especie, en bastantes ocasiones y circunstancias, dejamos mucho que desear, sino echemos un vistazo a como está el mundo hoy en día. Entendiendo que esta dualidad de ver el mundo es lo que veremos acá vayamos y hablemos un poco de esta producción.

We can agree that these AIs can become useful to humans, but could they become capable of replacing us? - I would say yes, in fact I think that's where we are heading. This film explores how this "war" or conflict between humans and AIs will be, if we will be able to coexist with these creations or as a good species that extinguishes everything in its path we will also annihilate them from the face of the earth. Because yes, humans as a species, in many occasions and circumstances, we leave much to be desired, but let's take a look at how the world is today. Understanding that this duality of seeing the world is what we will see here, let's go and talk a little bit about this production.

Como dije el mundo está en conflicto y la única manera posible que hay de solucionar todo es que una parte elimine a la otra. Por qué pasó esto? - porque unos años antes una de estas inteligencias artificiales detonó uno bomba atómica en Los Ángeles ocasionando obviamente cientos de miles de muertes y esto fue algo que dejó muy herida a la humanidad en todos los sentidos. Acá es donde entra Joshua (John David Washington), un ex agente de las fuerzas especiales de Estados Unidos, quien será reclutado para dar con el paradero de Nirmata (un Dios) o el Creador, la mente maestra que está detrás de todo este movimiento de las inteligencias artificiales y es que esta persona aparentemente creó un arma que pudiera ser una amenaza para lo que queda de humanidad.

As I said the world is in conflict and the only possible way to solve everything is for one side to eliminate the other. Why did this happen? - Because a few years earlier one of these artificial intelligences detonated an atomic bomb in Los Angeles obviously causing hundreds of thousands of deaths and this was something that left humanity very hurt in every way. This is where Joshua (John David Washington), a former U.S. special forces agent, will be recruited to find the whereabouts of Nirmata (a God) or the Creator, the mastermind behind this whole movement of artificial intelligences and this person apparently created a weapon that could be a threat to what is left of humanity.

A partir de aquí es cuando comienza la persecución, como Joshua acompañado de un grupo elite de soldados parten a tierras asiáticas. porque es por aquellos lares en donde estás las bases, para dar con el sitio final de esta arma y como no de El Creador. Para mi este es un film de supervivencia pura porque nos daremos cuenta que ambas partes tienen un poco de razón, unos consideran como una amenaza más que real estas IA y para los otros que las apoyan las ven como unos aliadas para que todo sea más fácil y efectivo; dada entonces esta dualidad de pensamiento pues se impondrá el del más apto, de allí a que sea sobrevivir a toda costa o quedar completamente destruidos.

From here is when the chase begins, as Joshua accompanied by an elite group of soldiers depart to Asian lands, because it is in those parts where the bases are, to find the final site of this weapon and of course the Creator. For me this is a film of pure survival because we will realize that both sides have a little reason, some consider as a threat more than real these AI and for others who support them see them as allies to make everything easier and more effective; given then this duality of thought will impose the fittest, hence it is to survive at all costs or be completely destroyed.

Lo primero a decir es todo lo que tiene que ver con lo visual. Esta es una película hecha por el creador de Rogue One, Gareth Edwards, un director que evidentemente sabe y conoce de todo el tema de ciencia ficción a nivel espacial, etc, por lo que ver este film en ese aspecto es espectacular. Creo que lo visual es de las mejores cosas que tiene esta película, unos efectos muy bien logrados, todo lo referente al CGI, puestas en escenas; lógicamente todo tiene un aura al universo de Star Wars y con mucha razón pero eso no está mal, hay muchos aspectos que se usan como influencia que de verdad quedaron muy top. Hablando de influencias también hay una muy marcada a la mítica película Dia de Independencia, la primera; cuando vean este film se darán cuenta de lo que hablo, es casi al final. Me recordó mucho a aquel film. Visualmente, repito, es una joya.

The first thing to say is everything that has to do with the visuals. This is a film made by the creator of Rogue One, Gareth Edwards, a director who obviously knows and knows everything about science fiction at the space level, etc., so watching this film in that aspect is spectacular. I think the visuals are one of the best things this film has, some very well done effects, everything related to CGI, staging; logically everything has an aura to the Star Wars universe and rightly so but that's not bad, there are many aspects that are used as an influence that really were very top. Speaking of influences there is also a very marked one to the mythical film Independence Day, the first one; when you see this film you will realize what I'm talking about, it's almost at the end. It reminded me a lot of that film. Visually, I repeat, it is a gem.

A nivel de historia es otra de las cosas que también valen la pena. Considero la trama muy sentida y bonita, porque si, hay un conflicto de por medio pero cuando entendemos el contexto y la historia que hay detrás de eso todo se convierte en algo mucho más real y lleno de vida, si cabe la expresión. La trama es sencilla pero creo que lo importante es el mensaje que esta te deja al final, no es un film vacío con buenos efectos, hay una carga emocional importante que nos hace conectar con ciertos personajes que hacen que la experiencia sea muy diferente a lo que pudiéramos pensar. La realidad es que la película es más profunda de lo que parece y esa combinación entre lo bélico y esto último hace que sea complicado que te aburras al verla.

At the story level is another thing that is also worthwhile. I consider the plot very heartfelt and beautiful, because yes, there is a conflict in the middle but when we understand the context and the story behind it all becomes much more real and full of life, if the expression fits. The plot is simple but I think the important thing is the message it leaves you with at the end, it is not an empty film with good effects, there is an important emotional charge that makes us connect with certain characters that make the experience very different from what we might think. The reality is that the film is deeper than it seems and that combination between the war and the latter makes it difficult to get bored watching it.

Los personajes. Joshua es una persona que la mueve el amor, todo lo que hace es con la finalidad de volver a ver a su esposa por lo que esos sentimientos lo harán tomar ciertas decisiones controversiales. Actuacion decente, sin más. Alphie (Madeleine Yuna Voyles), la niña que ven arriba es de lo más entrañable del film. Poco a poco se va soltando en su rol y al final veremos una interpretación muy buena por parte de ella, estuvo muy cool lo hizo. También veremos a actores un poco más conocidos como al gran Ken Watanabe y a Allison Janney en un papel que no le había visto, acá hace de ruda y despiadada, el cual logra sin problema alguno. Al final fueron unas actuaciones muy acordes a todo, nada malo que decir acerca de ellas, cumplieron bien.

The characters. Joshua is a person who is driven by love, everything he does is with the purpose of seeing his wife again, so those feelings will make him make certain controversial decisions. Decent acting, nothing more. Alphie (Madeleine Yuna Voyles), the little girl you see above, is one of the most endearing parts of the film. Little by little she loosens up in her role and in the end we will see a very good performance from her, she was very cool. We will also see actors a little more known as the great Ken Watanabe and Allison Janney in a role I had not seen, here she plays a tough and ruthless, which she achieves without any problem. In the end, the performances were in line with everything, nothing bad to say about them, they performed well.

Le doy a este film 8/10 únicamente por todo lo visual porque hasta las locaciones naturales estuvieron muy top. La trama es simple pero engancha por lo movida y emocional que es y las actuaciones en general estuvieron promedio. Es una muy buena película para disfrutar y que por tanto recomiendo a todos sin ninguna duda. Tiene una duración de un poco más de dos horas. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.

I give this film 8/10 only for the visuals because even the natural locations were top notch. The plot is simple but engaging because of how moving and emotional it is and the performances in general were average. It is a very good movie to enjoy and therefore I recommend it to everyone without any doubt. It has a running time of a little over two hours. I leave the trailer below.
