Synopsis: Jann Mardenborough is a young man from humble origins, but who has an ambitious dream: to be a famous racing driver. Addicted to the Gran Turismo franchise, he is a regular simulator player and sees an opportunity to make his dream come true thanks to an unexpected project.

A few days I did my monthly post of what I will be watching during the month besides finishing what I didn't on December last year, it was a crazy month and had to take care of things at home plus the shop went a bit crazy too; I think this mini series is going to be one of those small gems of 2024, the mini series carry nine episodes and will premier on Apple+ on January, 26, its based on the story of the 100th Bomber Crew, American Bombers during World War II, one of the things that caught my eye is the production team with names like Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman from productions like Band of Brothers highly rated on IMDB with a 9.4, yes its from 2001 but just to mention one of their war theme hits.

This mini series has a very varied cast, in fact some actors have previously worked with Spielberg. Austin Butler, who plays Major Gale 'Buck' Cleven, and will incidentally appear on screen in Dune Part II, was in the Elvis biopic, yeah trying to use some film terms now. Callum Turner, plays Major John Bucky Egan, the performance that I remember most is that of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Anthony Boyle, plays the role of Major Harry Crosby, I cannot ignore his role as the not so popular Malfoy in Harry Potter. Nate Mann plays Major Robert 'Rosie' Rosenthal and Josiah Cross plays Second Lieutenant Robert Daniels, both "new" talent to the screen discovered by Spielberg while working as waiters from what I could found on Google, not much about them on IMDB besides few previous work but not many. Rafferty Law, plays Sergeant Ken Lemmons, is the son of Jude Law and Sadie Frost, and has acted in Twist and The Hatton Garden Job. Barry Keoghan, Lieutenant Curtis Biddick, is an Irish actor who became known for his role in the movie Dunkirk and I have seen him in the Marvel movie Eternals. Branden Cook, plays Sergeant James Gibson, is a British actor, at this moment I do not associate him with any film or series other than Chicago P.D and thats because my mom watch random episodes on TV so I knew I have seen him some where, and finally Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Lieutenant Francis Harper, is a Scottish Rwandan actor and has gained fame for his role in the series Sex Education and very recently Barbie. With all this in mind not need to say that its a very well mix talented cast, I took the time to look up some of the main cast since some of the profiles didn't look familiar to me, its time I start learning and remembering this actors to improve my writing skills.

The Story is based on the book by Donald L. Miller, by the way I have decided to take some interest on some of this stories, I just want to be part of it, it's always the same adaptations that I know nothing about and when I publish my Dune post seems there is a lot of people who have read the books so this time I'm going to read at least one of this novels/books don't haven't decide witch one but I will probably make a post about it; Donald L. Miller a historian who has written several books about World War II so this men has solid bases about the topic, it is a true story and the most important part for me on this stories is not necesary the action but what goes on with the characters at a personal level, each person handles everything what goes on a war different, some are brave and fight, some can't handle it, they will have personal stories, challenges, even moral dilemas because they will have to do some bad things to survive, psychological traumas are born and latter on the emotional side of things, the flashbacks that never go away, the story of young men who carried dangerous bombing raids over the Nazi Germany, most of Europe territory occupied, dealing with the lack of oxygen and freezing temps at the high altitude, over 25,000 feet above ground, just trying to paint a picture here.

For a mini series it has a good amount of episodes but at first I couldn't find out more information about each episodes, if you go to IMDB plots are empty for now so after a quick look up on the internetz found that each episode goes about air bases where the 100th Bomb Group was parked or operating, mostly air bases in England. Thurleigh, Thorpe Abbotts, Polbrook, some other episodes related to events that happen Shweinfurt as Part Three, this was a German city target of several bombing raids, Ragensburg as Part Four, another German city that was attacked a very famous mission, Big Week as Part Seven that was a series of attacks on German aircraft factory so there will be a fair chair of action on this series, I can only imagine a fight scene in the air, POV with VR.

In my opinion this mini series is setting up to be awesome from what I have found out so far, the cast has a few names that are not well known but that is also something I like very much, I like the underdog side, see very well crafted series that bring to the spotlight not necessary new talent but make them shine, this is a mini series and not a movie so I won't be expecting constant action on every single episode but there is a chance there will be since most episodes are about some of the missions they did, the side story of each main character is going to be an important factor so I do expect some drama, probably love story of the members who left behind wifes and girlfriends to go to war, family, kids, as I mention a gem of 2024, down the line there will be others too, the closer we get to the release date they might put out some more scenes, down below the trailer at the moment of this post.

The Electric State (2024) a movie by the Russo brothers with a completely different genre than what we are used to, it is a science fiction film set into a future quite peculiar and different than what anyone would think, there is a lot of imagination into this story and also a bit dark giving the Russo brothers something to experiment with, its not only how dark and weird this movie might be at times from what I can tell after watching a few videos online about it mostly pictures of the novel and concepts of the film, reminds me a bit about certain other movies like recently The Creator because of the mix tech with humans but I hope its better. This movie with a very distinctive style has been highly anticipated by sci-fi fans who know about the graphic novel from 2018 of the same name by Simons Stalenhag, since I'm not a reader with no shame about it I know nothing about it; the movie is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, its like avengers related production side took an adventure into something totally different, in other words took the challenge to be successful on a different field of what they usually work on example Marvel Movies, I think they going to have a big challenge to make this adaptation work and could be highly criticize if as usual for some mystique reason the movie is not as close to the novel as every fan would expect.

Some familiar faces you will recognize from the cast specially with Millie Bobby Brown known for her role in "Stranger Things", coming from a drama with a very weird reality I think this brings more context or set the theme already, she plays the role of Michelle the main character who goes into an adventure with a robot and a homeless guy into a 1997 that you would never imagine, feels like a world made out of scraps after a war between humans and tech I guess AI, see why I mention "The Creator", next on the cast is Chriss Patt known from Guardians of the Galaxy aka Mr Star Lord who plays Keats, he helps Michelle to find her missing brother.

The Electric State got my attention because I love all this kind of futuristic dystopian as they call it, worlds that can very well turn into our future, the pictures from the novel are very artistic so I hop they can bring all this details to the movie, it also receive the Locus Award for Best Art Book in 2019, probably a not well known novel since it had to be translated to English, btw this is coming out on Netflix, its probably going to be a Netflix gem for 2024, the official release date is yet to be confirm.

From what I have seen in pictures and part of what the novel is about there is going to be a lot of VR on this movie, its like after the war the world has fall into a depression and humans are lost into VR worlds while huge drones that were left behind go around, the Michelle plot wondering this drone desert also reminds me of The Last of US, they basically be exploring the wild wild west of drones that might attempt to kill her, every time there is this kind of scenario there is a lot of tension, she is a kid all alone with a robot and a drifter, the world is upside down and have to survive everything that is out there that want to kill them, take their stuff, who knows.

As you can tell this movie is a mix bag of things that reminds me of many others with similar scenarios but it has its own theme going on it does share the classic element of wondering around an unknown world without a clue of what is going to happen but with one target in mind that is to find Michelle's brother, from the pictures I find it a very dark, nostalgic and soft? sci-fi style, same as other productions I have compare it to, drama is going to be the main topic here so don't expect big fights between robots and humans, think of it like The Walking Dead of robots? not sure just a suggestion not trying to compare it.

There is some mystery behind the production as they use a key name for it "Stormwind" like it was a secret but to keep it from who? its a $200 million production set to release on 2024 and will be one hour and forty minutes, for a movie about a girl wondering around looking for her brother might be a long movie getting closer to two hours but I think its fine considering that now days we have over an hour long TV series episodes, I hope it doesn't get too boring because at some point they will be traveling without many people around in the middle of the unknown, I doubt there going to be inside big cities, after all the world felt apart after war.

I still think this is going to be worth watching considering its a Netflix movie, great cast with very well known and great actors for the main characters recreating something different, there is no official trailer but their have been news about this production going around different media outlets.

Pero la celebración ultra comercial, como es "Black Friday", esa sí que es usada en todos lados; esto lo traigo a referencia porque este nuevo film de terror usa el tema de como una costumbre, una celebración, se ve opacada justamente por una nueva en dónde un día netamente comercial se hace tan importante, tan caótico que hasta podrás matar para ser parte de ello.

El guion escrito por Jeff Rendell, es bueno por el hecho de crear muchas víctimas, aunque eso posiblemente sea visto como algo negativo para este tipo de películas, pero creo que al ser tan directa, no importa cuántas víctimas aparezcan en escena; me agradó el tema con respecto a lo que es la celebración de Día de Gracias y de como es opacado por uno netamente comercial, lo cual es lo que genera el gran motivo de las muertes; no quiero que esto que acabo de decir se tome como spoiler, sino que lo que sucede en las primeras escenas del film, sea lo que de comienzo a todo lo que sucede en la historia.

This film is based on a fictional trailer that could be seen in the film "Grindhouse" (2007), the trailer was directed by Eli Roth and now he had the chance to give a full life to this production; as you may know, this director is closely related to the horror genre, being my favorite film under his direction, "Hostel" (2005). In this film is possibly the most direct slasher I've seen in years, there is no need to develop extensive scenes of suspense and if give graphic deaths that create impact on the viewer, just that is what I liked most about the film, as it has that touch of the classic "B Movies" where blood and mutilations are present, to that, I add the typical scenes tribute to other slashers.

The script written by Jeff Rendell, is good for the fact of creating many victims, although that is possibly seen as something negative for this type of film, but I think that being so direct, no matter how many victims appear on the scene; I liked the theme with respect to what is the celebration of Thanksgiving and how it is overshadowed by a purely commercial one, which is what generates the great reason for the deaths; I do not want this to be taken as a spoiler, but what happens in the first scenes of the film, is what starts everything that happens in the story.

No me voy a extenderme en el renglón de las actuaciones, solo quiero hacer referencia a sí los diferentes personajes cumplieron o no en su rol de víctimas y sospechosos; creo que está película existe algo muy marcado y justamente es eso; creo que ambos tipos de personajes hacen una representación correcta, al ser molesto en el rol que deben representar y eso hace que deseamos ver su último momento en el film; quiero dejar claro que cuando digo que son molestos, quiero decir cumplen con su trabajo; lo otro importante en estos personajes es que cumplen con el cliché típico de los slasher, justamente uno de esos clichés es "The Final Girl", en esta oportunidad la actriz Nell Verlaque interpreta a "Jessica" y es el personaje que menos me gustó; es muy dependiente, aunque por ser el primer film, puede ser que tenga un mejor desarrollo en otras producciones, pero en esta oportunidad, es una completa decepción, poca valentía y nula fuerza.

Esperaba más de Thanksgiving, tenía gran expectativa porque pude leer buenas opiniones, pero creo que faltó un mejor e impactante final y es que aquí es donde lo que dije en anterioridad con respecto a lo resolutivo de muchas de sus escenas, en los minutos finales se convierte en su peor enemigo; justamente toda esa rapidez evita que el motivo del asesino sea mejor, así como la resolución del caso lo cual lo hace ver hasta muy tonto; en mi opinión hizo falta suspenso, mejor persecución, una mejor pelea final y es que lamento que el cierre de esta historia no sea tan buena como es el film, las muertes son buenas, el primer acto del film es genial y creo que debió seguir así hasta el final, pero hubo muchas decisiones que pienso que no son las mejores; a pesar de mi crítica al cierre del último acto, recomiendo ese film, es un buen salsher, buen diseño del asesino, buenas muertes, buen motivo; tiene buenos elementos que hacen en gran parte disfrutar del film.

I expected more from Thanksgiving, I had great expectations because I could read good opinions, but I think it lacked a better and shocking ending and this is where what I said before regarding the resolution of many of his scenes, in the final minutes becomes its worst enemy; just all that speed prevents the motive of the murderer is better, as well as the resolution of the case which makes it look very silly; in my opinion it lacked suspense, better chase, a better final fight and I regret that the closing of this story is not as good as the film, the deaths are good, the first act of the film is great and I think it should have continued until the end, but there were many decisions that I think are not the best; despite my criticism to the closing of the last act, I recommend this film, it is a good salsher, good design of the murderer, good deaths, good motive; it has good elements that make the film enjoyable for the most part.

Un lagarto llamado Leo y su compañero de hábitat, la tortuga Squirtle, son las mascotas del último grado de una escuela que se preparan para conocer a los próximos estudiantes de ese año. Un año que pinta ser muy distinto, ya que llega una maestra sustituta que aparenta ser muy rígida y estricta. Esta maestra les pide a los alumnos cada viernes que alguno se lleve a una de estas mascotas, la cuide por el fin de semana y la traiga sana y salva el próximo lunes. Con este panorama, Leo planea su libertad porque quiere conocer el mundo antes de morir. Aunque sus planes se ven alterados al descubrir que estos niños necesitan de su ayuda y es así como se termina encariñando con ellos y decide ayudarlos a superar este último año escolar impartiendo su sabiduría. 

A lizard named Leo and his habitat companion, the turtle Squirtle, are the mascots of the last grade of a school preparing to meet the next students of that year. A year that looks to be very different, as a substitute teacher arrives who appears to be very rigid and strict. No es un secreto que les tengo mucho cariño a las películas animadas, sin embargo, siento que no vi muchas en el año que pasó y eso me dejó pensando en que debería retomar los pendientes. Por eso decidí ver esta, ya que recordé algunas reseñas que leí por aquí que me llamaron la atención y quise comprobarla por mi misma. Fue una muy buena elección. Me reí muchísimo con esta película, es muy divertida. Tiene ese humor que no es que sea gracioso, pero da risa viendo todo el contexto.

It's no secret that I'm very fond of animated movies, however, I feel that I didn't see many in the past year and that left me thinking that I should take up the pending ones. That's why I decided to see this one, as I remembered some reviews I read around here that caught my attention and wanted to check it out for myself. It was a very good choice. I laughed a lot with this movie, it is very funny. It has that humor that is not that funny, but it makes you laugh seeing the whole context.

A uno como adulto le puede parecer una pavada algunos problemas e inseguridades de los niños, pero también hay que saber escucharlos y comprenderlos para no seguir agrandando el problema. Ya que para ellos es muy importante sentirse contenidos y valorados. A veces solo necesitan un empujón en la dirección correcta y eso es lo que encontraron en este animalito tan peculiar y muy sabio llamado Leo. 

As an adult, some of the children's problems and insecurities may seem silly to you, but you must also know how to listen to them and understand them so as not to continue to aggravate the problem. It is very important for them to feel contained and valued. Sometimes they just need a push in the right direction and that is what they found in this peculiar and very wise animal called Leo.

Esta sabiduría también despertó la envidia de nuestro amigo el tortugo que se sintió desplazado y poco querido porque los niños preferían a Leo. Aunque tuvo su momento de redención, al igual que la maestra sustituta que se dejó encandilar por los elogios que no le correspondían a ella sabiendo la verdad de todo. Pero fueron buenos antagonistas mientras duro.

This wisdom also aroused the envy of our friend the turtle who felt displaced and unloved because the children preferred Leo. Although he had his moment of redemption, as did the substitute teacher who let herself be dazzled by the praise that did not correspond to her knowing the truth of everything. But they were good antagonists while it lasted.

La carga emotiva tampoco se hizo esperar, aunque considero que es una película más divertida que emotiva, pero no pueden faltar esos momentos donde se me quiere salir una lágrima. Casi me atragante de risa cuando vi cómo representaban a los alumnos más pequeños, estuvo increíble porque realmente se puede llegar a sentir así de avasallador cuando son muchos y tan pequeños, y se te vienen todos encima.

The emotional charge was not long in coming, although I consider it to be a film that is more fun than emotional, but you can't miss those moments where I want to shed a tear. I almost choked with laughter when I saw how they represented the youngest students, it was incredible because you can really feel so overwhelming when there are so many and so small, and they all come at you.

También tiene un trasfondo profundo y oculto que tiene que ver con lo que hacemos con nuestras vidas y como al final de esta nos vamos dando cuenta que quizá no hicimos todo lo que queríamos hacer y nos agarra el impulso de querer hacerlo todo en el momento y no es así. Quizá esos sueños o deseos que tuvimoe se vieron modificados con el tiempo y no es que no lo hicimos, es que comprendimos que no eran tan urgentes, además llegaron otros más importantes por el camino. Continuamente estamos cambiando de parecer en la vida y eso me parece bien.

It also has a deep and hidden background that has to do with what we do with our lives and how at the end of it we realize that maybe we did not do everything we wanted to do and we get the impulse to want to do everything at the moment and it is not so. Maybe those dreams or desires that we had were modified over time and it is not that we did not do it, it is that we understood that they were not so urgent, besides other more important ones came along the way. We are continually changing our minds in life and that's fine with me.

Es una película con muy lindos mensajes, al final invita a los niños y a todo el que la mire a confiar de que siempre tendremos a un Leo en nuestras vidas: alguien que sepa escuchar, darnos consejos y estar ahí para nosotros cuando los necesitemos. Me encantó haber visto esta película, se las recomiendo un montón si no lo hicieron. 

It is a movie with very nice messages, at the end it invites children and everyone who watches it to trust that we will always have a Leo in our lives: someone who knows how to listen, give us advice and be there for us when we need it. I loved watching this movie, I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.

To give my opinion unfortunately I will have to make spoilers about the main character. Anyway, if you are going to watch this new series is because you already know who Berlin is and what happened to him in La Casa de Papel.

Alex Pina and his co-stars didn't know they were making a big mistake at the end of the first heist of La Casa de papel. Berlin's character became one of the audience's favorites. He was a cold, intelligent, sophisticated villain with hints of a psychopath. He did despicable things, he was a character to hate and love at the same time. The people in charge of writing the story decided that he should die and so he did.

Although La Casa de Papel is a series that jumped the shark many times in its subsequent split seasons, reviving Berlin would be difficult. No one survives those shots. But the character's hook was great, fans of The House of Paper wanted more of their favorite psychopath and so he returned in those seasons in several Flashbacks. Everything would have been different if he had not been eliminated. Instead of a prequel, we would be enjoying a direct sequel.

Para dar mi opinión lamentablemente tendré que hacer spoilers sobre el personaje principal. De todas formas, si vas a ver esta nueva serie es porque ya sabes quién es Berlín y qué le pasó en La Casa de Papel.

Alex Pina y sus compañeros no sabían que estaban cometiendo un gran error al final del primer robo de La Casa de papel. El personaje de Berlín se convirtió en uno de los favoritos del público. Era un villano frío, inteligente, sofisticado y con toques de psicópata. Hacía cosas despreciables, era un personaje para odiar y amar al mismo tiempo. Los encargados de escribir la historia decidieron que debía morir y así fue.

Aunque La Casa de Papel es una serie que saltó el tiburón muchas veces en sus siguientes temporadas divididas en partes, revivir Berlín sería difícil. Nadie sobrevive a esos tiros. Pero el gancho del personaje era muy grande, los fans de La Casa de Papel querían más de su psicópata favorito y por eso volvió en esas temporadas en varios Flashbacks. Todo hubiera sido diferente si no hubiera sido eliminado. En lugar de una precuela, estaríamos disfrutando de una secuela directa.

Is it a robbery? It was as it should be, but they try to create a romantic series with a couple with no chemistry. There's nothing more ridiculous than watching a 40-something doing little dances and making lovey-dovey faces as if he were a teenager. If you're in your forties and you have a sugar baby, don't do this nonsense, you're going to look ugly, is my suggestion. Although in the end everyone does with his life what he wants.

Ya conocemos varias de sus otras aventuras, su amistad con el personaje Palermo, otros robos, tiene un hijo, también habíamos conocido a una mujer a la que ama con locura. Y por supuesto, volvimos a ver en esos flashbacks su comportamiento frío y despiadado. Así que me parece lamentable, que con este spin off precuela se destruya toda la esencia del personaje. Este no es el Berlín que a muchos gustó en La Casa de Papel.

Puede que tenga mucho de precuela, antes de que le diagnosticaran la enfermedad y mientras su hermano, El Profesor, planificaba el golpe a La Casa de la Moneda. Pero este no es el Berlín machista y psicótico que conocimos. Mientras que con la banda del Profesor y en los flashbacks infundía miedo y era un personaje elegante pero explosivo, en el spin-off que lleva su nombre, sólo amenaza y la escena en la que debería infundir miedo, es tan tópica y mil veces vista, que me dio pena.

¿Se trata de un robo? Era como debía ser, pero intentan crear una serie romántica con una pareja sin química. No hay nada más ridículo que ver a un cuarentón haciendo bailecitos y poniendo caras de enamorado como si fuera un adolescente. Si eres cuarentón y tienes un sugar baby, no hagas estas tonterías, te vas a ver muy feo, es mi sugerencia. Aunque al final cada uno hace con su vida lo que quiere.

Hola a toda esta gran comunidad de Movies and tv, el día de hoy vengo a compartirles una película que recién vi mientras lavaba los trastes y cocinaba ya que son los momentos que aprovecho para ver una que otra película o serie.

En esta ocasión entré a la plataforma de Prime y estaba en la pantalla principal la película de uno de mis actores favoritos Liam Neeson, protagonista de la Lista de Schindler (excelente pelicula), y la trilogía de Taken entre otras, esta película es de acción por lo cual me llamó muchísimo la atención ya que es una película nueva, se llama "Contrarreloj".

La película se desarrolla en su automóvil, en diferente partes de la ciudad, esto no le resta interés ya que la trama Tiene que ver con un artefacto explosivo instalado en el coche por lo que no se puede bajar de el ya que esta en riesgo su vida.

Para los que les gustan las películas de acción, tiene los ingredientes necesarios para disfrutar de un aumento de adrenalina. Los productores de la película supieron como darle la suficiente acción utilizando un auto en movimiento aun cuando el protagonista de la película cuanta ya con 71 años, sigue siendo muy bueno al interpretar su papel.

¿Qué serias capaz de hacer por salvar la vida de tu hijo? ¿Hasta dónde llegarías con tal de proteger a tus seres queridos?

When it comes to stories involving mafia, there is no doubt that it will have some action, this was what attracted me the most of this series, all those events, full of crimes, violence, is the most entertaining thing we will see here; as I said this woman will do whatever it takes to save the life of her son, and protect her loved ones, to the point that she will only think about herself, what she needs and what is convenient for her, in order to fulfill her purpose.

The series covers different topics, among them immigration, the treatment of immigrants, living in a country that is not yours, always walking in fear, for not breaking any law, and getting deported, is really frustrating for those people; but they are willing to go through all that, in order to have a better life, if that is life.

You not only have to think about yourself, but about your children, the consequences that this could bring if you are deported, if they do not have the nationality, or in the case of Thony's son, being this sick, not being able to go to a hospital that can treat him, precisely because he does not have the papers as a legal immigrant; are situations that these people have to deal with, which leads them to commit all kinds of desperate acts.

Cuando se trata de historias que involucran mafia, no cabe duda de que tendrá algo de acción, esto fue lo que más me atrajo de esta serie, todos esos eventos, llenos de crímenes, violencia, es lo más entretenido que veremos aquí; como dije esta mujer hará todo lo necesario para salvar la vida de su hijo, y proteger a sus seres queridos, a tal punto que solo pensara en ella, en lo que necesita y le conviene, con tal de cumplir su propósito.

La serie abarca distintos temas, entre ellos la inmigración, el trato a los inmigrantes, el vivir en un país que no es tuyo, andar siempre con miedo, por no romper ninguna ley, y hacer que te deporten, es realmente frustrante para esas personas; pero están dispuestos a pasar por todo eso, con tal de tener una vida mejor, si es que eso es vida.

No solo tienes que pensar en ti, sino en tus hijos, las consecuencias que esto podría traer si eres deportado, si ellos no tienen la nacionalidad, o en el caso del hijo de Thony, al estar asi de enfermo,el no poder ir a un hospital que lo puedan atender, precisamente por no contar con los papeles como migrante legal; son situaciones con las que estas personas deben lidiar, lo que los lleva a cometer todo tipo de actos desesperados.

This series consists of two seasons, but by the end, it gave me the impression that this story continues, and although it was somewhat entertaining, to extend it, I think it no longer makes sense, in itself, with the second season, I felt that it was too much; as I mentioned, the action and violence that has this series, is what attracts and convinces a little, with the plot.

Son muchas las situaciones por la que estas personas deben pasar, esta serie de alguna forma nos muestra todo esto; por otra parte, con ello, en esta busca justificar las acciones que en este caso realiza esta mujer, todo bajo el escudo de madre, con la premisa de hacer todo lo que esté en sus manos, para salvar la vida de su hijo, confieso que esto fue lo más desesperante de la serie, tiene que verlo, para poder entenderlo.

Esta serie consta de dos temporadas, pero por el final, me dio la impresión de que esta historia continua, y aunque fue algo entretenida, alargarla, creo ya no tiene sentido, de por sí, con la segunda temporada, sentí que estuvo de más; como ya les mencione, la acción y violencia que tiene dicha serie, es lo que atrae y convence un poco, con la trama.

It all started (at least in the most recent history of cinema) with the release of the infamous adaptation of *Justice League directed by Joss Whedon. When the movi was literally retaliated against by a massive part of the public and also specialized critics, Zack Snyder began to surf the fan hype created around his own version of the same movie. Until then, this movement had been an isolated case, but now with the release of the first part of his newest movie (Rebel Moon, which was massacred everywhere), Snyder returns to this same spotlight by stating that there is a “new version” of this same movie, with new cuts.

Todo empezó (al menos en la historia más reciente del cine) con el estreno de la infame adaptación de Liga de la Justicia dirigida por Joss Whedon. Cuando la película fue literalmente objeto de represalias por parte de una gran parte del público y también de la crítica especializada, Zack Snyder comenzó a surfear el revuelo creado por los fans en torno a su propia versión de la misma película. Esta situación empezó a tener repercusiones a nivel mundial, al punto de crear un movimiento bien orquestado.

A partir de entonces comenzó una auténtica odisea homérica para que se lanzara oficialmente la versión con los cortes originales de Snyder. Lo que realmente pasó. Hasta entonces, este movimiento había sido un caso aislado, pero ahora con el estreno de la primera parte de su más reciente película (Rebel Moon, que fue masacrada por todas partes), Snyder vuelve a este mismo foco al afirmar que hay una “nueva versión” de esta misma película, con nuevos cortes.

Dentro de este contexto, hay dos situaciones diferentes. Cuando esto sucedió por primera vez, la obra en cuestión tenía una singularidad y un atractivo más popular. Prefiero creer que esta prerrogativa no será algo que avalen otros directores famosos, mucho menos directores desconocidos (porque es algo que deberían abrazar principalmente aquellos que están en la cima de la cadena alimentaria dentro de los grandes estudios o empresas), porque Si esto algún día se convirtiera en una tendencia, sería una prueba irrefutable de que se está ridiculizando al público a costa de más dinero y más visibilidad.

Tudo começou (ao menos na história mais recente do cinema) com o lançamento da famigerada adaptação de Liga da Justiça dirigido por Joss Whedon. Quando o filme foi literalmente retaliado por uma parte massiva do público e também dos críticos especializados, Zack Snyder começou a surfar no hype dos fãs criado em torno da sua própria versão sobre o mesmo filme. Essa situação começou a repercutir mundialmente, a ponto de criar um movimento bem orquestrado.

A partir daí, começou-se uma verdadeira odisseia homérica para que a versão com os cortes originais de Snyder fosse oficialmente lançada. O que de fato aconteceu. Até então, esse movimento tinha sido um caso isolado, mas agora com o lançamento da primeira parte do seu mais novo filme (Rebel Moon, que foi massacrado por todo os lados), Snyder volta para debaixo desse mesmo holofote ao afirmar que há uma “nova versão” deste mesmo filme, com novos cortes.

Dentro desse contexto, há duas situações diferentes. Quando isso aconteceu pela primeira vez, havia um ineditismo e um apelo mais popular sobre a obra em questão. Nesta segunda vez, Snyder tenta criar um novo universo do zero, mas sem o apelo mais popular da obra anterior. O que me leva a pensar: Será que ele acredita mesmo que lançar “versões do diretor” em espaços alternados aumenta o interesse do público sobre estes projetos?... Isso me parece “estupidez”.

Eu prefiro acreditar que essa prerrogativa não será algo endossado por outros diretores famosos, e muito menos por diretores desconhecidos (porque isso é algo que primeiramente deveria ser abraçado por aqueles que estão no topo da cadeia alimentar dentro dos grandes estúdios ou empresas), porque se isso um dia se tornar uma tendência, seria um atestado irrefutável de que o público está sendo feito de idiota em detrimento de mais dinheiro e mais visibilidade.

Synopsis: Haru is a cheerful young woman who is determined to change her life, and to do so, she decides to work as a concierge at a pokémon resort on a remote island.

After a sequence of unexpected, negative and exhausting events in her life, young Haru feels suffocated and in an attempt to change that, she decides to follow a different path and so she decides to start working at a resort, but it is not a any job, because it's a resort with special guests: pokémons. On a totally isolated island, the creatures and their respective owners find a special place to recharge their energy get to know each other better, and interact with other groups.

The anime that was a true international phenomenon in 1997 (and to this day continues to have a large legion of fans around the world) has now been adapted into a television series and the result was so much better than I expected. Until recently I had no knowledge of this project, but Netflix invested heavily in a structure involving stop motion technology and created something fun and extremely captivating in so many ways.

Even though it has an extremely simple narrative and no bolder developments, the script develops its main idea very well, which is to cause a true feeling of nostalgia in older audiences, while at the same time trying to capture the attention of possible new fans. The project is very successful and hits both ends, bringing a visual aesthetic completely different from anything that has ever been worked on within its own franchise.

Over the course of just four brief episodes (and this is the only negative point of the entire project that I can highlight: having such a short running time, even as isolated episodes, since each chapter has something around 15 minutes), the audience follows the young woman's adventures a lot and she is willing to learn about things that she didn't even know she needed until then. Amidst all types of pokémons, her life will change a lot.

Playing full force on its contemplative aspect, the television series was an assertive choice to bring a new approach to this anime. The tone of the arguments is always very light, bringing moral lessons that need to be learned by Haru. However, this is not the focus of the stories (although there is always a point about that), which chooses to privilege stop motion technology with great quality, which is honestly an extremely beautiful work.

While the determined Haru explores the island and performs her duties as a concierge, the episodes feature a massive exposition with a range of diverse pokémons, always interacting with each other. The structures (whether natural or not) that make up the resort are also carefully explored, giving the public a true immersion into this very different place. Every visual detail is very well planned, and the execution of the ideas is a very strong element.

Thinking about several stop motion projects that I have watched previously, I cannot now mention a work with an identity as beautiful and strong as this one. The combination of colors, the diversity of formats and in addition (this being the most mesmerizing aspect), the texture of the animation, which brings a mix of something more granular in a more rustic look. All of this works so well that it is impossible not to be impressed by such technology.

Variety

Directed by Iku Ogawa (who, incidentally, is very creative in his work), Pokemon konsheruju | Pokémon Concierge has no connections between its episodes, but the structure of the characters' presentation manages to establish a “timeline” and imposes a chronological order throughout the plot. From start to finish, this work reinforces the idea that more stop motion projects need to be done more frequently, showing that it is possible to bring very robust innovations.

CRÍTICA DE SERIE DE TELEVISIÓN: “La conserje Pokémon” (PRIMERA TEMPORADA - 2023)

Sinopsis: Haru es una joven alegre que está decidida a cambiar su vida, y para ello decide trabajar como conserje en un resort Pokémon en una isla remota.

Después de una secuencia de eventos inesperados, negativos y agotadores en su vida, la joven Haru se siente asfixiada y en un intento por cambiar eso, decide seguir un camino diferente y por eso decide empezar a trabajar en un resort, pero no es cualquier cosa. trabajo, porque es un resort con invitados especiales: pokémons. Si bien tiene una narrativa extremadamente simple y sin desarrollos más atrevidos, el guión desarrolla muy bien su idea principal, que es provocar un verdadero sentimiento de nostalgia en el público mayor, al mismo tiempo que intenta captar la atención de posibles nuevos fans. El proyecto tiene mucho éxito y llega a ambos extremos, aportando una estética visual completamente diferente a todo lo que se haya trabajado dentro de su propia franquicia.

A lo largo de sólo cuatro breves episodios (y este es el único punto negativo que puedo destacar de todo el proyecto: tener una duración tan corta, incluso como episodios aislados, ya que cada capítulo tiene unos 15 minutos), el público sigue la joven vive mucho las aventuras y está dispuesta a aprender sobre cosas que ni siquiera sabía que necesitaba hasta ese momento. En medio de todo tipo de pokémons, su vida cambiará mucho.

Aprovechando al máximo su aspecto contemplativo, la serie de televisión fue una elección asertiva para aportar un nuevo enfoque a este anime. El tono de los argumentos es siempre muy ligero y aporta lecciones morales que Haru debe aprender. Sin embargo, este no es el foco de las historias (aunque siempre hay un punto en eso), que opta por privilegiar la tecnología stop motion con gran calidad, que sinceramente es un trabajo sumamente hermoso.

Mientras la decidida Haru explora la isla y realiza sus tareas como conserje, los episodios presentan una exposición masiva con una variedad de pokémons diversos, siempre interactuando entre sí. Las estructuras (naturales o no) que componen el resort también se exploran cuidadosamente, brindando al público una verdadera inmersión en este lugar tan diferente. Cada detalle visual está muy bien planificado y la ejecución de las ideas es un elemento muy fuerte.

Pensando en varios proyectos de *stop motion que he visto anteriormente, no puedo mencionar ahora una obra con una identidad tan bella y fuerte como ésta. La combinación de colores, la diversidad de formatos y además (siendo este el aspecto más fascinante), la textura de la animación, que aporta una mezcla de algo más granular en un aspecto más rústico. Todo esto funciona tan bien que es imposible no quedar impresionado por esta tecnología.

Dirigida por Iku Ogawa (que, por cierto, es muy creativo en su trabajo), La conserje Pokémon no tiene conexiones entre sus episodios, pero la estructura de presentación de los personajes logra establecer una “línea de tiempo” e impone un orden cronológico a lo largo de la trama. De principio a fin, este trabajo refuerza la idea de que es necesario realizar más proyectos de stop motion con mayor frecuencia, lo que demuestra que es posible aportar innovaciones muy sólidas.

O anime que foi um verdadeiro fenômeno internacional em 1997 (e até hoje continua tendo uma grande legião de fãs espalhados pelo mundo) agora ganhou uma adaptação em formato de série de televisão e o resultado foi muito melhor do que eu esperava. Até pouco tempo atrás eu não tinha conhecimento algum sobre esse projeto, mas a Netflix investiu pesado dentro de uma estrutura envolvendo a tecnologia stop motion e criou algo divertido e extremamente cativante de tantas maneiras.

Mesmo tendo uma narrativa extremamente simples e sem nenhum desdobramento mais ousado, o roteiro desenvolve muito bem à sua ideia principal, que é causar um verdadeiro sentimento de nostalgia no público mais antigo, ao mesmo tempo em que tentar captar à atenção de possíveis novos fãs. O projeto é muito bem sucedido e acerta nos dois lados, trazendo uma estética visual completamente diferente de tudo o que já foi trabalhado dentro de sua própria franquia.

Ao longo de apenas quatro breves episódios (e esse é o único ponto negativo de todo o projeto que eu posso destacar: ter um tempo de duração tão curto, inclusive enquanto episódios isolados, já que cada capítulo tem algo em torno de mais ou menos 15 minutos), o público acompanha as aventuras de jovem bastante e ela está disposta aprender sobre coisas que ela até então nem sabia que precisava. Em meio a todos os tipos de pokémons, à vida dela mudará demais.

Jogando toda à sua força em seu aspecto contemplativo, a série de televisão foi uma escolha assertiva para trazer uma nova abordagem para este anime. O tom dos argumentos é sempre muito leve, trazendo lições de moral que precisam ser aprendidas por Haru. No entanto, este não é o foco das estórias (embora sempre haja ponto sobre isso), que opta por privilegiar com bastante qualidade a tecnologia stop motion, que sinceramente é um trabalho extremamente lindo.

Pensando sobre diversos projeto em stop motion que eu já assisti anteriormente, eu não consigo mencionar agora um trabalho com uma identidade tão bonita e forte quanto este. A combinação de cores, a diversidade de formatos e além disso (sendo este o aspecto mais hipnotizante), a textura da animação, que traz uma mistura de algo mais granular em um visual mais rústico. Tudo isso funciona tão bem, que é impossível não ficar impressionado com tamanha tecnologia.

Dirigido por Iku Ogawa (que aliás, é muito criativo em seu trabalho), A Concierge Pokémon não tem conexões entre os seus episódios, mas a estrutura de apresentação dos personagens consegue estabelecer uma “linha temporal” e impõe uma ordem cronológica em toda à trama. Do início ao fim, esse trabalho é algo que reforça a ideia de que mais projetos em stop motion precisam ser feitos com mais frequência, mostrando que é possível trazer inovações bastante robustas.
