MONARCH could easy be one of the best TV series of 2023, the scores are not crazy high across sites like TMDB, IMDB and RTT but it has been everything I hope from the start, that was introduce a good story about all the characters this means Keiko, Shaw Lee, Cate, Bill and now their grand child and on top good monsters with an S scenes and not just Godzilla, this TV series has also push me to watch the three movies related to it so I could have a better understanding of why things happen in certain way and there is still one scenes I cant get why, that's when Bill is been chase by a giant spider filming ask someone to forgive him for all he "Bill" took from him.. still probably one of the best TV series of 2023 with great contenders like Silo and The Wheel of Time, no doubt the Hollywood Strike hit hard the industry but there are still some gems from 2023 and MONARCH is one of them.

Episode two Departure is still part of that stage of knowing why things are happening and it will be like that probably until episode four when things settle down and it covers for the most part the present time, but I think this season main focus is to explain how things started back on the 50's with Kieko, Bill and Shaw, that is exactly what MONARCH is after now, the youngsters Cate, Kentaro and his ex-girlfriends May have discover some files from audio and video at his father office, Hiroshi is suppose to be missing or dead but it might not be the case and there is only one person alive that might help them figure out exactly what happen and that Shaw Lee.

Recently read about an interview that was done some time ago to Wyat Russell and how he didn't want to work with his father until he makes it out by himself, they both are very similar and I guess many other productions have though about them to be included for the same purpose of going back and forward in time lines of the same character, it work out great for MONARCH.

It was the late 50's in Japan, Dr. Keiko Miura was probably not taken serious by many for a couple of reasons, I guess men were very dominant on her field of work and second she was basically chasing a ghost so when Shaw Lee the III was assign to her as military escort he didn't take her serious neither and paid a great price right from the start, not only he was cocky but he was kind of pissed been assign as an escort probably as punishment after getting into a bar fight, he even though she was trying to hook up with him when they met, he thought Dr. Miura had to be a men and he was so wrong, this got him more than once to be ashamed of his actions until he started to understand what was going on and why her work was so important despite been almost along on this journey.

Moving into the present we know Kentaro and Cate found some files at their father office in Japan but had no clue what they were about, Kentaro ex-girlfriend knew how to handle some of this old format of data storage and decided to dig into it but this alert MONARCH about it, this are probably OG Bill Randall and Keiko Miura files, how everything started, this documents are important and MONARCH want them back.

On a second trip to his father office Kentaro started to look at some files and found a video tape too, between the files came up Shaw Lee and a document that mentions how he has been admitted at a retiring community that latter on end up been a prison for MONARCH related people, they need to keep their secrets tight even though G-day already happen they don't want the population know that there are more than just one massive monster going around, this would cause huge panic. Kentaro latter on said his mom told him about how to locate Shaw but it is not true, he got the place name from the documents at his father office.

The entire Kentaro / May relationship is kind of boring and annoying because it has not been properly explain, we know he dump her but why? besides she is hiding something and that could be the reason why he dump her but he was not brave enough to call her out? this is just me making conclusions.

Cate is traumatize by what she went through on G day at San Francisco, I mean who would not if you see face to face good old GOJI!!! she had front row seats at the San Francisco Bridge when Godzilla show up and start screaming its lungs away so now every time she starts feeling claustrophobic her first though is GOJI is coming, that's what happen when Tim try to soft kidnap her after she denied to talk to him, Cate starts to scream and scramble inside the car and kick the Duval in the face who was driving and then crash badly, not sure how Duval and Tim got out of that crash like it was nothing.

That same night after the crash they raided May apartment and went looking for Kentaro, not only they were very close one place to the other but Duval and Tim look fresh, not like they have gotten out of a bad car crash something I find annoying after watching the episode again, making this post makes me realize things I didn't on the first watch, that's another reason I like this posts recaps. Again WTF is May hiding and why she look like running away from something, she catch Cate out of her apartment and brought her to a restaurant where she is hiding a bag with supplies, money and multiple passports like she is ready to disappear anytime if needed. I also like how Kentaro mom help him to escape, was very cool how she look all naive even asking Duval if she was single an available for Kentaro LOL, making time for Kentaro to run away.

Episode Two explain how the three person who started MONARCH met, Keiko, Bill and Shaw, latter on Bill and Keiko become a couple, not sure if they get married because how long did it pass after they met and episode one when Keiko die? weird, I like Randal always creative and running his mouth, but he did see things different than others and had a big imagination, and Shaw as sarcastic as usual.

This pattern right here will come up multiple times on the series, same as Skull Island was a mythical place surrounded by a storm it seems this side of the Philippines has host for very long time a monster that only natives talk about but why governments haven't notice, it was late 50's so I guess nobody give a shit about it, G-day only happen until 2014 so the public didn't know about titans until then, everything else that happen was just stories and legends that no body believe, Bill describe this as a migration pattern.

It feels nice how the series presents a goal, that is looking for monsters and right there they find what they were looking for, the scenery on VR is awesome, the rusted big ship in the middle of a field, the dark scenes thanks to the vintage camera stile of Bill make it look cool since it was not your classic dark scene I can't see shit and suddenly monsters pop up, you could see details of the ship from inside and what look like the crew who was some how turn into solid material cover by mucus?? or saliva?? This ship was the Lawton that sink close to Pearl Harbor on 1943 more than seven years ago and Bill was on that ship, he didn't know it was going to be there but he hope for it, this time was also when Shaw started to believe on Bill and Keiko theory about this monsters when he was driving away after been dismissed by Keiko from his duty when he try to tell her what to do, Shaw saw on the sky exactly what Bill describe as "path of fire in the sky" or a path of radiation left behind, so he drives back as fast as he could and help them out of a hairy situation, present to you The Dragon, at the cover image.

This episode was great, just the second episode and we already have another monster that has been reveal, I doubt it will be the same on every episode but this ramps up the hype when finally glorious GOJIRA shows up to wreck one of them, may be not may be on season one it doesn't fight anyone and they show Keiko study its behavior, on previous movies Godzilla has been describe as the Titan that brings balance to the system thats why Dr. Ishiro on Godzilla 2014 ask the admiral to let them fight and figure it out, something that for MONARC was a bit dumb. The Russell duo works great for MONARCH and now we are going to watch Shaw Lee in the present reveal some of this secrets Keiko and Bill kept with them so it makes easier for the story to unfold and faster, Kentaro and Cate doesn't have to look for their father along wondering but now they have Shaw help so I think the balance between characters story and monsters showing up is working out great, from the start the main thing I kept reading was people saying it was going to suck if Godzilla didn't show up or fight but with all this monsters been reveal I think is crafting more the tittle of the series "Legacy of Monsters" in plural and not just Godzilla.

Es inevitable que debe llegar un momento de plantearse preguntas como ¿Qué tan evolucionada es la humanidad? ¿Qué tan dependiente es la humanidad? ¿Ambos temas van de la mano? ¿El avance tecnológico es el único sinónimo a la evolución? ¿Somos víctimas de la tecnología? Preguntas que podemos hacer al observar un film, leer un libro o al ver situaciones de la vida real que nos hacen ver lo vulnerable que somos como sociedad para después plantear la gran pregunta de todas ¿Por qué sucedió eso? Estas incógnitas y de como afectan a ciertas personas son en mi opinión el tema principal de esta nueva producción de Netflix.

It is inevitable that there must come a time to ask questions such as: How evolved is humanity? How dependent is humanity? Do both issues go hand in hand? Is technological progress the only synonym for evolution? Are we victims of technology? Questions that we can ask when watching a film, reading a book or seeing real life situations that make us see how vulnerable we are as a society and then ask the biggest question of all: Why did this happen? These questions and how they affect certain people are in my opinion the main theme of this new Netflix production.

Esta película es dirigida y escrita por Sam Esmail quien alcanzó la fama al ser creador, director y escritor de la galardonada serie "Mr. Robot"; en esta nueva película de Netflix, Esmail estaba convencido en darle una perspectiva amplia al espectador, eso lo consigue con un el uso de drones en algunas escenas, pero hay otros en dónde o quería seguir a los personajes de una manera común, esto lo logra dando movilidad a la cámara lo cual genera una perspectiva diferente a algunas escenas, eso junto a otras en dónde pareciera que el film es proyectado en redes sociales que usan vídeos; me gustó mucho su manera de dirigir, es un director que sabe resaltar ciertas imágenes, con un buen uso de la luz y de los colores.

Este film es basado en una novela del mismo nombre, que salió a la venta en el 2020 y fue escrita por Rumaan Alam y por lo que he leído, Esmail hace algún que otro cambio para hacer un resumen en una producción de más de dos horas de duración; no hay duda que la idea principal es el de hacer una crítica a la sociedad que hace como prioridad una manera de pensar o lidiar con ciertas situaciones que extrañamente se han vuelto cotidianas, crítica la dependencia a la tecnología, a la información o desinformación, a un falso liderazgo, productos y demás, también hay una crítica generacional y es lo que más me ha gustado, es lo que considero que es lo que mejor desarrollado tiene la historia.

This movie is directed and written by Sam Esmail who rose to fame as the creator, director and writer of the award-winning series "Mr. Robot"; in this new Netflix movie, Esmail was convinced to give a wide perspective to the viewer. This film is based on a novel of the same name, which was released in 2020 and was written by Rumaan Alam and from what I have read, Esmail makes the odd change to make a summary in a production of more than two hours long; there is no doubt that the main idea is to make a criticism to the society that makes as a priority a way of thinking or dealing with certain situations that strangely have become everyday, criticism of dependence on technology, information or misinformation, a false leadership, products and so on, there is also a generational criticism and that is what I liked the most, is what I think is the best developed part of the story.

Uno de los puntos atrayentes de este film es el importante elenco, contar con actores como Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke y Mahershala Ali, es sin ninguna duda un plus; me gustó que cada uno tenga una participación importante, cada quien tiene un punto de vista que aporta mucho al relato, aunque si debo decir que tanto Roberts como Ali, tiene más protagonismo, entre ellos dos existe diferentes maneras de lidiar con dicha situación, primero es por la paranoia o por la incredulidad, pero cuando llega un momento en específico, cada pensamiento o cada creencia que tenga, se derrumba para reconocer una fuerte realidad. A pesar de señalar a los dos mejores actores del film, mi personaje favorito es Rose, Interpretado por Farrah Mackenzie, en ella está un punto de vista importante en la historia y que es relegado por su corta edad, pero en ella está la interpretación de la prioridad que tiene como nueva generación, una prioridad que le hace ser feliz entre tanta desdicha, creo que al final eso es lo que cada persona piensa, pero que al ser adulto, cambia de manera radical.

One of the attractive points of this film is the important cast, having actors like Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke**_ and Mahershala Ali**_, is undoubtedly a plus; I liked that each one has an important participation, each one has a point of view that contributes a lot to the story, although I must say that both Roberts and Ali, has more prominence, between them there are different ways to deal with the situation, first it is paranoia or disbelief, but when a specific moment comes, every thought or every belief you have, collapses to recognize a strong reality. Despite pointing out the two best actors of the film, my favorite character is Rose, Played by Farrah Mackenzie, in her is an important point of view in the story and that is relegated by her young age, but in her is the interpretation of the priority that she has as a new generation, a priority that makes her happy among so much misfortune, I think in the end that is what every person thinks, but that as an adult, changes radically.

Me gustó Leave the World Behind, me gustó la manera de mostrar cómo influye lo que posiblemente sea el fin del mundo (o una parte) en personas que tienen cierta definición de como vivir justamente en ese mundo, personas que no son perfectas, pero por diferentes vivencias, creen que tiene el poder de crear un juicio de todo los que lo rodea, toda esa situación, todo ese relato humano es lo que me ha gustado del film lo cual no necesita de un villano o héroe definido, no necesita de la existencia de la lucha entre el bien y el mal, solo necesita explorar los puntos de vista de diferentes personas en una situación traumática; ahora no hay duda que también es una buena crítica a lo que somos como sociedad, de las limitaciones, de la dependencia y de la vulnerabilidad, en eso me ha parecido que es un buen relato, no terrorífico, pero si atrayente, correcto y para nada exagerado; posiblemente esta película se considere lenta, aburrida, pero creo que funciona muy bien como un relato, no de fantasía, ni tampoco de ser algo que sucederá el día de mañana, pero sí que funciona para crear ciertos debates y siempre creo que está es la función de este estilo de film y por eso creo que cada quien debería de verla.

I liked Leave the World Behind, I liked the way of showing how it influences what is possibly the end of the world (or a part of it) in people who have a certain definition of how to live just in that world, people who are not perfect, but for different experiences, they believe they have the power to create a judgment of everything that surrounds them, This whole situation, this whole human story is what I liked about the film, which does not need a defined villain or hero, it does not need the existence of the struggle between good and evil, it only needs to explore the points of view of different people in a traumatic situation; now there is no doubt that it is also a good criticism of what we are as a society, of the limitations, of the dependence and vulnerability, in that I thought it was a good story, not terrifying, but appealing, correct and not exaggerated at all; possibly this film is considered slow, boring, but I think it works very well as a story, not fantasy, nor something that will happen tomorrow, but it works to create certain debates and I always think this is the function of this style of film and that is why I think everyone should see it.

Not only me but many had high hopes on Secret Invasion, things on the MCU were going from bad to worst but there was still some hope but it all make sense when they announce the MCU reboot my first impression was like OK they ran out of ideas but the truth is that I think they already knew how fucked up it was going to get after End Game, seems that Secret Invasion was one of those last fucked up productions that had a big chance of been great, I also have to admit that there is a slight probability that the Hollywood strike had a big impact on it but still the right decision was probably to wait and do things right but on the entertainment industry this is the example of taking the hit and move on, this is nothing for them so it is easy to just release a mini series with a crappy ending, because its the last two episodes that fuck it up, that is how it got such low scores everywhere, even someone who some what enjoy the first five episodes they got to the last one and think WTF just happen?? The worst mistake on this episode was the fact that they constantly interrupt the main fight that had good special effects, kept pause/play with a stupid argument between Fury and Rhodey at the hospital when Fury was trying to safe the president, I think their intention was to increase the dopamine levels of viewers, like who is going do die first?? Giah at the fight? the president at the hospital? c'mon the fight between G'iah and Gravik was the main event of the evening how could you just kept interrupting, this let to very confusing and blurry scenes during the fight, If you take the entire fight alone without the interruptions it was not bad.

I love doing this kind of recaps because it helps me to not let slide those details you usually miss because of the dopamine rush but I do hate when the flow of the story gets interrupted so much becoming erratic.

Even after we already know the outcome of this episode if you still decide to give it a try like me, after all I had to close this chapter I'm not the type of person that build my opinion on what others say or think, I might watch the worst movie ever but if I like it still say it.

Episode started OK, Fury went to Skrullos, Gravik's HQ, consider that everyone on that compound is a Skrull so for Fury they were all enemies, no hostages, anyone on his way is going down, things between Priscilla and him are a bit sour after he find out she was in contact with Gravik, true she is a Skrull but Fury decided to become his husband no matter the species differences, we are not talking anymore culture or religion, she is from another planet so that's a lot of trust from him and she decided to stay in contact with his enemy and even denied so he is on the fence if trust her again or not.

The only thing that I like from this dialogue up here was how Rhodey was dropping bombs on the Admiral, it was also disturbing since if you have watch other movies when he shows up you know that's not him, the way he was pushing the bombing on Skrullos forcing the president to take action, but I still like this Rhodey with a lot of attitude not the passive guy we see on Avengers, always a secondary character, he was still on Secret Invasion but had that I Dont Give a Fuck attitude, at the end he ran out of time since Sonya set him up, messing with his mind, making him think Fury was after him and the President so they had to scramble and try to take the President out of the hospital.

This was probably my favorite part of the episode, it was not all bad, the range of the score was from 5 - 7 out of 10, so you can still watch it and say meh could have been better, I have seen worst. This series look like a fucking movie, it had everything to be great, you got Fury trying to out smart a Skrull general who have millions of them on earth and just Fury without any supper powers but very slick. Truth is that Fury is a selfish mother fucker, but I think there are some professions that you have to be like that if not you wont make it to the top, this time been like that was about to byte his ass, Gravik pull up with a lot of revelations like the skin he was wearing was the first human he killed working for Fury and how that consume him and how Fury basically pimped them as a cheap whore, all Skrulls, so this make Talos his main bitch?? massive mic drop.

I bet this is not how things happen but its a mediocre TV adaptation so you can't ask much, but it was this moment when Super Skrull was going to become a reality, the possibilities were infinite and the way they try to setup a trap I think was good, before it happen I knew Fury was not giving the Harvest that easy, it had all DNA samples from Thanos, Hulk, Captain America, all DNA that was not human was there but still the concept to have it on a single bottle I think made no sense, besides who could take that kind of mutation on a single hit, this was probably worst than trying to handle all the infinity stones, it would never be as easy as I gave you the Harvest you get the fuck out of planet Earth.

The fight was wild, well if it was not getting interrupted every two minutes, I think if you take all the fight scene and put it together would then be a great fight, but again all that interruption cut a lot of cool scenes, I realize this when I was taking all the screenshots for this post from the video, there were scenes that left a lot on the table since you could not really appreciate the punches and wounds, but the fact that Gravik was no match for G'iah also got me thinking that they put it easy for her, on a situation when both have the same powers, too many to use at the same time because G'iah even pull a Mantis move and put Gravik to sleep; this fight was more about who was more creative to combine all this powers, Gravik for the most part was all brute force and G'iah was way smarter to use other powers like the frost blade, she also went all Captain Marvel first and then he imitate her.

Unfortunately the episodes was some what ok until the end of the fight, the rest was very vague and felt the most rush it has been from all other five episodes, party is over everyone home just like that, Fury goes back to space now with Pricilla, Sonya is now working with G'iah but everything is presented in small snippets scenes, this is why I keep saying at least two more episodes and the outcome of this mini series would have been different, been a mini series is something that piss off viewers who at first thought this would be a full TV series with probably two seasons not every one has time to be checking the Twitter MCU account to know what to expect from this Movies and Series, I started posting about tv series and movies about a year ago, nothing journalistic about it but just putting my opinion as a normie viewer and I have no clue what to expect after the trailer came out, I thought it would be a great watch but the last two episodes destroy it.

I have been giving more though about why things like this happen and I landed on the idea that scrapping out a show like this is nothing for the entertainment industry, unless its on very early stages they stop it without releasing a crappy show but when there already episodes film and some what marketing out they go with it despite it been a low effort production, I wont say its the actors fault because I felt actors were fine, the Gravik part at the reactor with Fury, expressing how he felt about him, how Fury pimped them LOL that was funny, that entire scene was great from Gravik so it was more of a moronic production decision to rush things out instead of finding the budget and time to give it a few more episodes and let the story spread its wings a bit more.

REACHER season two brings more context to the story, it feels nice when you watch a TV series with proper story structure, season one was full of action with very little of who Reacher really is, all we knew was that he was in the army, he is fucking tank you don't mess with and is one of the good guys, but there were a few questions like why really he stop giving a fuck about everything and decided to disappear, no phone, no address, travel light, on his own words that is all Reacher was.

Season 2 brings more context by starting to develop what that part of his life was, Mayor Reacher had a crew, he was running a team of special investigators who he selectively hand pick, at first things did not make sense to most of the but everyone was there for a reason and not just random guys from all over the army, Reacher is like the final version of the Hulk, when Bruce Banner finally understood Hulk as an improvement and not a disease, that's Reacher, the final version of the Hulk and it would be nice to see him working hard than usual, suffer a bit, may be would be nice to see some one giving him a proper fight one to one, season two starts with the death of Calving Franz, member of this old crew the 100th unit, Franz was torture and then thrown off a helicopter, not a cheap death so must be a high profile case he was after, Reacher now comes in to get to the bottom of this murder and make sure justice is serve in the name of his friend.

It would not be a Reacher episode without a proper kick ass, Reacher was minding his own business, buying a change clothe at a local store by the pound, it was funny that he even change clothe there and the puts the old one on the counter LOL, he sees this women doing multiple withdraws from an ATM and simple ask her if she has been carjacked, not sure how he got to that conclusion but most of the time you don't care, when you watch this type of series or movies like John Wick all you want is massive shooting, kick ass fights, break some stuff and that's is what Reacher is all about, they complement with a story but this is the perfect sample of a proper Reacher kick ass scene, if not the series would be very boring watch a big guy like him just doing investigator job. Reacher is like Bruce Banner transform into the Hulk but with a bit more of attitude and sarcasm, at the end he ask the kid if he wants to see his mom? jajajaja very funny scene.

An old friend and crew member, Frances Neagley; was trying to reach him since he had no where to be contacted at, as a last resource she use a clever way to send a distress call using his bank account, so when he pick up the recipe from the ATM, a deposit of $1.10 and then balance went to $1,030, this are the kind of things only people from the army of where the use this codes frequently are aware of on their daily routine, its like if I see 127.0.0.1 on my mind that's HOME. Neagley the women with Reacher at the phone wanted to notify him Franz was murdered.

Episode one brings Mayor Reacher, Special Investigator crew to the scene, they were few but very well selected by Reacher himself, trying to be as efficient as possible, some of the them like young blood David O'Donell had no clue how such team will work out, Reacher had his doubts too but things started on the right foot after they all witness Reacher had their back no matter what.

Reacher catch up with Neagley during breakfast after he flight to New York where she is at, a lot has happen since he has been out, this crew probably understood he wanted to be alone or that he didn't care anymore, its either one of the two so they didn't put that much effort to contact him but this time was different, one of them has been torture and murdered, not an event to swallow that easy so Neagley did everything she could to contact him. Episode one was either very predictable or its a trap for the viewer, right out of the start they are been follow everyone and two guys monitoring them, we see the one following them with the list of Reacher crew members, who do they work for? are they government? are they with the people who kill Franz? who the fuck they are?, if you ask any viewer the first though would be they are with the bad guys.

On top, Reacher calls O'donnell and told him where is he and Neagley are staying, latter on he shows up after Neagley's room was turn apart, so it's either some one else who is listening to their calls who did it or O'donnel is with the bad guys? see all the possibilities and outcomes of episode one? I'm 200% sure we will see some sort of treason against Reacher in the upcoming episodes, because some one who knows him and his ex crew is after them, Franz was the first victim.

Reacher is all about been just and defending the little one, even though the entire crew is mention on episode one there is very little known about them besides Neagley and O'donnell, she even mention Karla Dixon from Reacher crew that he liked her but never had anything with her because he was running the team, seem wrong for him, that kind of just guy. The rest of the crew only fill the space even Franz didn't said much during the episode.

Remember how I said Reacher had their back? it was this scene where they got into a bar fight because it was a "officers only" bar and Neagley was Sergeant, that evening started boring, they didn't know each other, O'donnell was constantly running his mouth about the rest, even Dixon said leaving after her first beer but it was that fight that make the crew stick together and bond at a camp fire, singing, drinking, that night Neagley probably became Reacher right hand, after all that is what he was looking for, a tight crew that stick together not a bunch of military police doing what they were told to do at the military.

No quiero ser repetitivo, pero es inevitable no relacionar el tema familiar con un film navideño, es la base, es el motivo principal, es lo que inicia y finaliza cada historia, es una parte importante, pero no toda, ya que una producción siempre dependerá de lo que va en el medio, de como se relata la historia, como se comportan los personajes, de como influye el tema familiar en esta época del año en cada uno de ellos; estás son características que espero ver en películas en esta época de navidad, relatos positivos, divertidos y porque no, hasta con temas reales; justamente esos factores son los que aparecen en el film al que hago reseña en esta publicación.

Este es un film del cual no esperaba nada y después de verlo siento que encontré un tesoro, es una completa genialidad toda esta producción, la cual desde el primer momento se comienza a disfrutar; está es una película ambientada en el comienzo de los 70' y el director, Alexander Payne, creo que tuvo como asignación hacer que se notará en cada imagen; primeramente nos da esa noción que el último día de clases ha llegado, nevada intensa, bajas temperaturas, adolescentes y niños felices por las vacaciones y todo eso se nota en los minutos iniciales del film, algo muy importante para lo que será el relato en todo está producción, a eso debo anexar, el estilo muy divertido en diferentes escenas, me hizo recordar a ciertas películas hechas en esa época, con mucha importancia en la música, en la edición y por supuesto en los diferentes planos en cada toma; no hay duda que este es un gran trabajo por parte de Payne.

La historia es lo mejor del film, el realto de tres personajes que deben pasar las navidades juntos y que a pesar de sus claras diferencias, no temen a nosotras sus similitudes y así pueden crear un fuerte lazo entre ellos; esto puede simplificar está historia, pero lo hecho por David Hemingson, en el guion es excelente, me pareció muy bien que se use a personas que añoran estar con sus familias en esa época del año y por cualquier circunstancia, deban estar con extraños, pero justamente es eso lo que quiebra una zona de confort, hace caer capas que cubren verdades sentimientos y de esa manera podrá aprender a lidiar y porque no vivir mejor, crecer un poco más.

The story is the best of the film, the story of three characters who must spend Christmas together and that despite their clear differences, they are not afraid of us their similarities and so they can create a strong bond between them; This may simplify this story, but what David Hemingson has done in the script is excellent, I thought it was very good to use people who yearn to be with their families at that time of the year and for whatever reason, must be with strangers, but that is exactly what breaks a comfort zone, makes layers fall that cover true feelings and thus can learn to cope and why not live better, grow a little more.

Las actuaciones también son muy buenas, desde los simples o sencillos personajes, hasta sus tres protagonistas como son: Paul Giamatti, como "Paul Hunham", un profesor exigente, poco o nada amigable con sus estudiantes y compañeros de profesión, con un defecto ocular y otros más, pero que entiende sobre qué persona puede tomar su tipo de enseñanza y usarlo en sus vidas; no es un hombre perfecto y creo que no busca en serlo y tal vez eso lo convierte en alguien con pocas metas, poco ambicioso que es feliz en su solitaria zona de confort; otro gran personaje es "Angus Tully" Interpretado por Dominic Sessa; este joven estudiante es el claro ejemplo de alguien que busca atención, en especial la de su madre; es alguien solitario, problemático, pero es inteligente, con mucho potencial, pero que no es bien usado por problemas los cuales él esconde muy adentro y que al exponerlos, es donde podrá encontrar un momento de curar las heridas; algo muy parecido le sucede al personaje de "Mary Lamb", Interpretado por Da'Vine Joy Randolph, me gustó mucho este personaje, es fuerte, pero a la vez es el más triste, es quien ha perdido más y de una manera u otra necesita un motivo más de vida, su participación es breve, pero es muy bien escrita, es divertida y en momentos, es conmovedora, pero creo que puedo definirla como una mujer valiente. Estás tres actuaciones, estos tres actores hacen un trabajo especial, estoy seguro de que sin ellos en esos roles, la película no tendría el impacto que tiene.

It didn't take long for people to want to watch a sequel (considering the fact that the movie was a real success), and after 23 years this happened, because Netflix decided to bet on this sequel and the chickens now have a new challenge, which in fact, in theory, should be more complex (and here, they had a very interesting plot, which could have been well worked on in different aspects). However, the script here loses a lot of strength because it is quite superficial.

It all starts with a brief recap of the main events of the first movie being narrated by Rocky, raising Ginger's self-esteem and introducing this motherly figure to her not yet hatched daughter, Molly. Along with the rest of the herd, they live in a “village” that is perfect for everyone, but which is now threatened by a company that is hiding something very dangerous for all these animals. Once Ginger realizes this threat, she needs to count on Rocky's help to divert Molly's attention to her unexpected curiosity about the outside world and, at the same time, try to calm the herd about the whole situation, which is not exactly new to everyone.

The starting point to try to justify the existence of this new adventure is a mixture of arguments involving the mystery that threatens to take away the peace of the chickens and the questions asked by Molly as she realizes an existence beyond the barriers between the place where she lives and what's on the other side. So she decides to run away and explore a new world, but she has no idea what she will find. Teaming up with a new friend called Frizzle, she will face a challenge of catastrophic proportions for the chicken world, and what could have been great, is just a very nostalgic product precisely because it was created in the 2000s, when the first adventure established a new level.

Despite being a technically very well-made movie (the quality of the stop motion technique is something that proves this in a way that is impossible to dispute) and executed with a caution that is easily visible in its most visual details (the mix of colors, the different scenarios, the very causal soundtrack... everything within this technical aspect converges to create great animation), the script misses any and all opportunities to go beyond the obvious and that is precisely why the plot fails to embrace the very dangers it presents when everything starts to get quite tense. There is no freedom on the part of the script to allow itself to delve into its darkest and most complex essence.

Obviously the movie is aimed at children, but unlike its predecessor, this sequel lacks the courage seen in what happened 23 years ago. Even though it is a dynamic movie (in fact, everything happens very quickly this time, and in reality it sounds like something even more surreal than it actually is), and with a plot that between the lines is very scary (considering the chickens' point of view, of course), it has a very childish tone that harms its development. In many moments, the situations sound like independent events that do not have a direct connection with the movie itself considering its more complete context. A considerable failure.

As an independent movie, it works much better than a sequel, because anyone who watched the first adventure knows that now the events, despite being potentially more damaging, are shown from a much less impactful perspective. Even the main approach to the villains that the chickens have to face brings an atmosphere of dubious quality and ends up taking away their threatening weight. In general, all the characters are now poorly developed (in fact, all the new characters have a poor presentation and sequence of scenes). In other words, narratively there has been a marked regression in this argument (and there was room to do something much more creative).

The sense of urgency regarding the dangers presented exists, but now everything is easily resolved, completely reversing everything that happened in the previous movie. Sinopse: Uma nova ameaça em potencial está rondando o paraíso em que Ginger, Rocky e sua filha Molly estão vivendo junto com o restante do rebanho. Diante deste perigo iminente, eles precisam se unir para enfrentar aqueles que estão por trás de um novo plano maléfico envolvendo as galinhas.

A jornada galinácea que foi produzida com a tecnologia do stop motion e lançada nos cinemas nos anos 2000, trouxe para o público um material original e muito divertido em termos visuais e narrativos. Não demorou muito para que as pessoas desejassem assistir a uma sequência (considerando o fato de que o filme foi um verdadeiro sucesso), e depois de 23 anos isso aconteceu, porque a Netflix decidiu apostar nessa sequência e as galinhas agora tem um novo desafio, que aliás, em tese, deveria ser mais complexo (e aqui, eles tinham uma trama bastante interessante, que poderia ter sido bem trabalhada em diferentes aspectos). No entanto, o roteiro aqui perde muita força por ser bastante superficial.

Não há uma liberdade por parte do roteiro em se permitir mergulhar dentro da sua essência mais obscura e complexa.

Obviamente que o filme é voltado para as crianças, mas diferente do seu antecessor, nesta sequência não há a coragem vista no que aconteceu há 23 anos. Mesmo sendo um filme dinâmico (aliás, tudo acontece muito rápido desta vez, e à realidade soa como algo ainda mais surreal do que na verdade já é), e com uma trama que nas entrelinhas é muito assustadora (considerando o ponto de vista das galinhas, é claro), ele traz um tom muito infantilizado que prejudica o seu desenvolvimento. Em muitos momentos, as situações soam como acontecimentos independentes entre si e que não tem uma conexão direta com o próprio filme considerando o seu contexto mais completo. Uma falha considerável.

Enquanto um filme independente, ele funciona muito melhor do que uma sequência, porque quem assistiu a primeira aventura sabe que agora os acontecimentos apesar de serem potencialmente mais danosos, são mostrados por óticas bem menos impactantes. Até mesmo a abordagem principal em relação aos vilões que as galinhas precisam enfrentar traz uma atmosfera de qualidade duvidosa e acabam tirando o peso ameaçador deles. De uma maneira geral, todos os personagens agora são precariamente desenvolvidos (inclusive, todos os personagens novos tem uma apresentação e uma sequência de cenas pífias). Em outras palavras, narrativamente houve uma regressão acentuada neste argumento (e havia espaço para fazer algo muito mais criativo).

Hablar de la mafia italiana es un tema bastante delicado y extenso, hay varios grupos organizados, siendo los más importantes la Cosa Nostra Siciliana, la Camorra Napolitana y la Ndrangheta Calabresa, en esta serie veremos como se centra la historia en la familia conformada por las calabresas.

Donde tres mujeres, tres madres, se verán envueltas en el círculo vicioso y criminal de la mafia, y como buscarán la forma de salir de ello, escapar, protegerse, pero sobre todo salvar a sus hijos. La serie consta de 6 episodios, la cual se sumerge en esta opresión, traición, y supervivencia, con miedo, dudas, inseguridad, pero a la vez valor, porque solo hay alguien con gran valor, logra enfrentarse a la mafia italiana.

Es increíble como estos hombres tienen el control de la vida de estas mujeres, como las manipulan, las mantienen allí, bajo su yugo, con terror, con amenazas, con presión, porque también deben velar por sus hijos, ellos serán su debilidad, y es que como toda madre, o las buenas madres, buscaran velar por su protección y cuidado, así les cueste su propia vida.

As I said it tells the story of these three women, Gaia Girace as Denise Cosco, Valentina Bellè as Giuseppina Pesce, Simona Distefano as Concetta Cacciola, each of them will reflect their experience, pain, trauma, for belonging to these families, and the courage they had to assume, to take that step, and get out of it all.

Self-sacrificing mothers, submissive wives, unhappy marriages, with the only obligation to care for and protect their children, some lose their fear, others, as much as they would like to, it takes over them, and they take other ways out, because once you betray the mafia, it is difficult to go back.

And one of the things we will see here is that the mafia does not forgive or forget, no matter what role you play within the organization or the family, in one way or another, they will make them pay.

Lo intrigante de esta historia, es el hecho de saber que fue basada en hechos reales, y es que si la ven, entenderán todo lo que debieron pasar estas mujeres; el miedo infundado, las consecuencias de la traición, de querer huir de la mafia, el deshonor, llevándolas incluso a la muerte, es algo que de por sí llama la atención.

Las Buenas Madres, es el nombre de esta miniserie, la cual cuenta con un buen reparto, al principio es un poco lenta y densa, no hay escenas épicas, de gran movimiento, pero a medida que transcurre la historia, iremos viendo como van surgiendo todas estas dificultades, ese dolor y perdida, que las llevará a tomar decisiones, con las que tendrán que asumir.

Como dije cuenta la historia de estas tres mujeres, Gaia Girace como Denise Cosco, Valentina Bellè como Giuseppina Pesce,Simona Distefano como Concetta Cacciola, cada una de ellas nos reflejaran su vivencia, dolor, trauma, por pertenecer a estas familias, y el valor que tuvieron que asumir, para dar ese paso, y salir todo ello.

Madres abnegadas, esposas sumisas, matrimonios infelices, con la única obligación de cuidar y proteger a sus hijos, algunas pierden el miedo, otras por más que quisieran, el mismo se apodera de ellas, y toman otras salidas, porque una vez que traicionas a la mafia, es difícil volver atrás.

Y es que una de las cosas que veremos aquí, que la mafia no perdona ni olvida, no importa que papel cumplas dentro de la organización o la familia, de alguna forma u otra, harán que paguen.

Sam Esmail earned my admiration ( and that of many viewers) with the series Mr. Robot. It's his best-known project, although Homecoming and The Resort also received accolades. A filmmaker experienced in TV series is the ideal choice to direct a film divided into chapters.

The film's structure corresponds to its source material, the bestselling novel by writer Rumaan Alam, which was a bestseller some three years ago. So this is the film adaptation of the book. I haven't read it, I already said in my Scorsese movie post that I read very little this year.

Back on topic, sure there are differences from the original text, but after watching the movie, it made me want to look up the novel. It made me reflect on many things, plus Esmail brings his style to it. There is his characteristic framing, camera movements and the extraordinary handling of suspense with parallel editing. It's his stamp, his signature, something I like about filmmakers who distinguish themselves from the rest.

Esmail has something pending with the public. For about four years now, he has been working on another remake of Battlestar Galactica, for me one of the best science fiction series. In several promotional interviews for the film, he has responded that this project is still in progress. This is good news. Come on Esmail, I trust you.

Sam Esmail se ganó mi admiración ( y la de muchos espectadores) con la serie Mr. Robot. Es su proyecto más conocido, aunque Homecoming y The Resort también recibieron elogios. Un cineasta curtido en series de televisión es la elección ideal para dirigir una película dividida en capítulos.

La estructura de la película corresponde a su material de origen, la novela superventas del escritor Rumaan Alam, que fue un éxito de ventas hace unos tres años. Así que ésta es la adaptación cinematográfica del libro. No lo he leído, ya dije en mi post de la película de Scorsese que este año lei muy poco.

Volviendo al tema, seguro que hay diferencias con el texto original, pero después de ver la película, me dieron ganas de buscar la novela. Me hizo reflexionar sobre muchas cosas, además Esmail le aporta su estilo. Están sus característicos encuadres, los movimientos de cámara y el extraordinario manejo del suspense con el montaje paralelo. Es su sello, su firma, algo que me gusta de los cineastas que se distinguen del resto.

Esmail tiene algo pendiente con el público. Desde hace unos cuatro años, trabaja en otro remake de Battlestar Galactica, para mí una de las mejores series de ciencia ficción. En varias entrevistas promocionales de la película, ha respondido que este proyecto sigue en marcha. Es una buena noticia. Vamos Esmail, confío en ti.

A scenario like the one depicted in the movie (and book) is very feasible.

Leaving the World Behind addresses very current issues, in a very subtle way, using a micro-cosmos, formed by a group of people, very small, two families. Both face the worst of fears: the fear of the unknown, the fear of the end of our days, the fear of not knowing what is going to happen. That feeling that something bad is very close is maintained throughout the film. I recommend that you don't look for answers in the movie. You will have to fill in the answers yourself. Many have complained about the ending, but I loved it, it goes along with everything told.

All empires have an expiration date. They have an end. History has proven it. Roman Empire, British, Spanish. Portuguese, Chinese, Russian, French. For centuries empires have risen and collapsed. Why should it be any different now? The American empire seems to be in debacle. What would happen in the event of an apocalypse? A coordinated attack? A collapse? No access to the net, to satellites? Are they prepared for the end of an era? What would happen next?

Arm yourself. Hold on. Survive. Protect yourself and forget the world. Leave the world, the others, behind. It is none of your business. There is a secondary character who explains very well what will happen. To return to our savage roots, in a nation divided and with widespread fear, would be to return to the law of the strongest. Every man for himself.

Miedo. Tras la primera media hora de la película, volví a recordar el documental Bowling for Columbine, de Michael Moore. En esa producción se explicaba que el estadounidense tiene la cultura del miedo en sus raíces. El miedo forma parte de esa sociedad desde que llegaron los primeros colonos. Miedo a todo lo que es extraño. Miedo a los indios que poseían la tierra, miedo a ellos mismos por lo que tuvieron que equiparse con muchas armas, miedo a la libertad de los esclavos, miedo a los rusos, miedo a los musulmanes, miedo a los inmigrantes.

El miedo también es utilizado por los políticos para manipular. No sólo en América, en todo el mundo hoy en día el sistema del miedo se ha propagado como una forma de tener control. En un mundo que avanza hacia lo socialmente correcto, añadimos el miedo y la dependencia tecnológica, y creo que el apocalipsis está más cerca. Un escenario como el que se describe en la película (y libro) es muy factible.

Dejando el mundo atrás aborda temas muy actuales, de forma muy sutil, utilizando un micro-cosmos, formado por un grupo de personas, muy pequeño, dos familias. Ambas se enfrentan al peor de los miedos: el miedo a lo desconocido, el miedo al fin de nuestros días, el miedo a no saber qué va a pasar. Esa sensación de que algo malo está muy cerca se mantiene durante toda la película. Te recomiendo que no busques respuestas en la película. Tendrás que completar las respuestas tú mismo. Muchos se han quejado del final, pero a mi me ha encantado, va acorde con todo lo contado.

Todos los imperios tienen fecha de caducidad. Tienen un final. La historia lo ha demostrado. Imperio Romano, Británico, Español. Portugués, chino, ruso, francés. Durante siglos los imperios han surgido y se han derrumbado. ¿Por qué iba a ser diferente ahora? El imperio estadounidense parece estar en debacle. ¿Qué ocurriría en caso de apocalipsis? ¿Un ataque coordinado? ¿Un colapso? ¿Sin acceso a la red, a los satélites? ¿Están preparados para el fin de una era? ¿Qué ocurriría después?

Armarse. Espera. Sobrevive. Protégete y olvídate del mundo. Deja el mundo, a los demás, atrás. No es asunto tuyo. Hay un personaje secundario que explica muy bien lo que ocurrirá. Volver a nuestras raíces salvajes, en una nación dividida y con el miedo generalizado, sería volver a la ley del más fuerte. Sálvese quien pueda.
