Although this isn’t exactly a Zombie film but Sweet Home has a lot of Zombie elements that this one is in the middle of both. The overall series is gruesome, horror but also offering a unique look into the origin of an outbreak. As many other K-zombie this one includes characters who try to survive during an outbreak. It features people from all walks of life with different profession. However, there are certain aspects that made you wonder as it appears quite silly at times. The second season of Sweet Home is announced to be released sometime this year. This is why it’s a good time to refresh the story while waiting for the second one.

Setting in a poor neighborhood in the outskirt of Seoul, the beginning of the series already hinted that it was the beginning of a horror events. The apartment is called Green Apartment due to its striking green color. The people of the apartment aren’t necessarily well-off. They have problems and are quite complex. The building was quite dilapidated but strangely people living there as if that was a good environment. Right off the bat, the series already hinted that it would a catastrophic too.

The first infected in the apartment was a security officer. Then, the apartment security officer locked the apartment from inside which later revelead that it was to protect the residents. The main characters in this film are Cha Hyun Soo who was played by Song Kang.

Hyun Soo is a hikikomori who recently lost all of his family to an accident. Before the accident, he got bullied in highschool and becoming a NEET. Until he had to move out and eventually lived on the Green Apartment as resident of 1410. During the outbreak, he saw his neighbor got infected as he was trying to fetch his box of Ramen. Then, during the outbreak, he was attempting to save siblings from Eye Monster. Apparently, in the outbreak people became half monster that later revealed it was not airborne nor due parasite but it was because human desire.

In the Green House apartment, the survivors are led by med student, Lee Eun Hyuk who was played by Lee Do-yun. He has a sister who is former ballerina which also is the main cast of the series. Then, there’s Lee Si-Young, a former firefighter and as well as former special forces. She was also the main key in the story as she was the first resident who managed to get out of the apartment and revealed the situation with the infected and the connection to an experiment by the military.

During the survival, Lee Eun Hyuk showed a great organizational skill and was leading the survivors quite well. Apparently the main character Hyun Soo got infected but showed no symptoms of turning into a hideous monster. Instead, as a monster, he became immortal and was a key to the other survivors in the building. This creates a twist that apparently there are mutants like him.

Throughout the film, as typical of K-zombie the residents bicker about whether the government would save them and spent a lot of time bickering instead of trying to focus on survival. At one point, I found it ridiculous that they had to go outside instead looting inside the greeen apartment because the apartment is more than 20 storey packed with residents. How come they aren’t enough water and food?

At first, I was even skeptical of this series. I thought it was cheaply made because the poster and wondered from the trailer if that was a ghost series. But apparently, it’s monster, zombiesque series with interesting story and plot.And again, the monster they’re fighting off like a typical South Korean production is obviously another human. Usually, in western series and film there are explicitly mentioned but that’s not the case with South Korean production. They always make it obvious that the danger isn’t actually the zombie, it was the human and human nature itself.

I am definitely recommending this series during October and as the set for K-zombie. But don’t forget to check out Kingdom as well as ALL OF US ARE DEAD too.

Well literally so, this series is based on the story of a young teenager where she is unexpectedly and inexplicably trapped in the afterlife, but she refuses to leave without knowing what happened to her, so she decides to investigate along with other students who are also trapped in that world.

This series consists of 8 chapters, it is somewhat entertaining, a story full of mystery with a touch of crime, young ghosts, an unknown world, the dead trying to communicate with the living.

Although this is nothing new, as for a long time they have been bringing out this type of stories in the television world, I remember an old series of a young woman who talked to the dead and helped them to pass to that other plane that we all don't know, surely more than one already knows what it is about.

This series does not escape from all this, it is similar to that style, only based on this group of students, trapped in the school, where some of them have been there for years, decades, watching others arrive and leave.

Bueno literalmente es así, esta serie se basa en la historia de una joven adolescente dónde de forma inesperada e inexplicable se ve atrapada en el más allá, pero ella se niega a irse sin saber qué le pasó, por ende decide investigar junto con otros estudiantes que también están atrapados en ese mundo.

Esta serie consta de 8 capítulos, resulta algo entretenida, una historia llena de misterio con un toque de crimen, jóvenes fantasmas, un mundo desconocido, los muertos tratando de comunicarse con los vivos.

Aunque esto no es nada nuevo, ya que desde hace mucho tiempo han sacado este tipo de historias en el mundo televisivo, recuerdo a una serie antigua de una joven mujer que hablaba con los muertos y los ayudaba a pasar hacia ese otro plano que todos desconocemos, seguro más de uno ya sabe de cuál se trata.

Esta serie no escapa de todo esto, es parecido a ese estilo, solo que basado en este grupo de estudiantes, atrapados en el colegio, donde algunos llevan años, décadas allí, viendo llegar e irse a otros.

Many of us have thought about this, what happens after we die, where we go, what happens to our soul, but especially when it happens unexpectedly, everything is sudden, and so fast, these young teenagers lost their lives in such an incongruous way, this is what we will see in this series, the theme of death, with its reflective touch, and black humor, in which we will see the experience of each one, and how they were left in limbo.

Maddie is played by Peyton list, the young teenager eager to know what happened to her, how she ended up there in that other world, thinking about everything she left behind, her mother, a woman with alcohol problems, her studies and university plans, her friends, in short, having to deal with everything, watching from afar, unable to do anything, just trying to understand what really happened to her.

Muchos hemos pensado en esto, que pasa después que morimos, a donde vamos, que sucede con nuestra alma, pero sobre todo cuando ocurre de manera inesperada, todo es repentino, y tan rápido, estos jóvenes adolescentes perdieron su vida de una forma tan incongruente, esto es lo que veremos en esta serie, el tema de la muerte, con su toque reflexivo, y de humor negro, en el que veremos la experiencia de cada uno, y como quedaron en el limbo.

Maddie es interpretada por Peyton list, la joven adolescente deseosa de saber que le sucedió, como termino allí en ese otro mundo, pensando en todo lo dejo atrás, su madre, una mujer con problemas de alcohol, sus estudios y planes Universitarios, sus amigos, en fin, tener que lidiar con todo aquello, observando desde lejos, sin poder hacer nada, solo buscar entender qué le sucedió realmente..

As I said it is a somewhat entertaining series, with its mysteries, leaving you intrigued, in which each chapter leaves a question in the air, and you have to wait to see what else will happen, only this first season has been released, leaving of course these questions on hold, what really happened to Maddie, is she really dead, or is there something else?

Although the plot revolves around these teenagers, adults also have their role here, parents with conflicts, absent, and even too strict, as in any story when there are young people involved.

Without a doubt it is a series that serves to pass the time, with a bit of drama, mystery, crime, all this so common, but even so it is still interesting and entertaining, it is not one of the best stories, but it is still passable for the view of anyone who catches your attention.

Como dije es una serie algo entretenida, con sus misterios, dejándote intrigado, en el que cada capítulo queda una interrogante en el aire, y toca esperar a ver que más sucederá, solo ha salido esta primera temporada, dejando por supuesto dichas interrogantes en espera, ¿qué le paso realmente a Maddie?, ¿en verdad está muerta, o hay algo más?

Aunque la trama gira en torno a estos adolescentes, los adultos también tiene su papel aquí, padres con conflictos, ausentes, y hasta demasiado estrictos, bueno como en toda historia cuando hay jóvenes de por medio.

Sin duda es una serie que sirve para pasar el rato, con un poco de drama, misterio, crimen, todo esto tan común, pero que no aun asi no deja de ser interesante y entretenido, no es una de las mejores historias, de igual manera resulta pasable para la vista de todo aquel que le llame la atención.

People seeking better options for their lives, help for their families, a better future for their children. Surviving in this hostile world.

The film uses illegal immigration as a starting point for the story. It places it in the present day. Using this social problem to create a survival thriller, as the title of the film says and can be seen in the trailer. Two characters from different worlds, who must come together to survive in the middle of a wild environment, where their lives will be in great danger.

The story is simple, but touching thanks to the script that makes us care about its characters. The performances are believable, as are the dangerous situations they face. A chase in which only the survival instinct is the only thing that can keep them alive.

La inmigración ilegal es un problema que azota a muchos países, sobre todo a aquellos donde la calidad de vida es mejor que en las naciones de origen de muchas personas desesperadas por escapar y salir de regímenes tiránicos o situaciones económicas extremas. Personas que buscan mejores opciones para sus vidas, ayuda para sus familiares, un futuro mejor para sus hijos. Sobrevivir en este mundo hostil.

La película utiliza la inmigración ilegal como punto de partida de la historia. La sitúa en la actualidad. Utilizando este problema social para crear un thriller de supervivencia, como dice el título de la película y se puede ver en el trailer. Dos personajes de mundos diferentes, que deben unirse para sobrevivir en medio de un entorno salvaje, donde sus vidas correrán un gran peligro.

La historia es sencilla, pero conmovedora gracias al guión que hace que nos preocupemos por sus personajes. Las interpretaciones son creíbles, al igual que las peligrosas situaciones a las que se enfrentan. Una persecución en la que sólo el instinto de supervivencia es lo único que puede mantenerlos con vida.

Samuel is a man dealing with a recent loss. Tragedy has knocked at his door and he seems to be in pain. A strong and calm man, he is determined to put an end to the pain. He has a pessimistic view of life to which he finds no meaning.

Chehreh is a brave, intelligent woman, ready to do anything to reach her destination, to feel the sense of freedom that a first world country offers her. A woman full of hope and desire to start a new life from scratch. The road is full of dangers, but her desperation is so great that she does not mind risking her life. A character with whom many who have gone through this situation will feel identified.

Two people from totally opposite worlds. Each with their own burdens, but both survivors of the chaos that has befallen them. Fate (the script) will make them cross paths and they will have to gain each other's trust in order to keep breathing.

Rumors on the street mentioned All Of Us Are Dead potentially will release its second season around 2024. So, while waiting for the release of the second, let’s refresh our knowledge about this phenomenal K-zombie series. All Of Us Are Dead has 12 Episode and runs for 72 minutes. Unlike Kingdom which sets in Joseon Era, All Of Us Are Dead was set in modern day South Korea with a background of High school in a city called Hyosan. Although the series didn’t won any award but the actor and actress won best new award during APAN Star Awards. Personally, I got to know this series from Super Action which was a reality shows highlighting stuntmen. In one of the episodes, they had to re-enact the scene from All of Us Are Dead. But only last week, I got to check out the full episode of this series. Safe to say, this gets to my top 3 K-zombie list.

All Of Us Are Dead centers around the story of high school students trying to survive the outbreak caused by a virus called Jonas. Once someone gets bitten by the infected, they will turn into a zombie. The zombie is sensitive to sound but overtime, they mutated and those with mutation doesn’t show any symptoms and is looking like normal human. There's a catch, they show a superhuman strength.

High school students being chosen as the main characters in the story is quite appealing. They are in a transition phase and when faced with adversity, their decision making was tested. The zombie thrown into the story serves as apparatus that symbolizes life challenges and options that they could have. But All Of Us Are Dead, like many other South Korean series and film is also bringing bullying into the scene.

Bullying is not a stranger within South Korea film. There are many stories featuring high school students being bullied and their approach to solve that issue. In fact, All Of Us Are Dead’s virus was also started because Bullying.It shows that it is dire problem that the society needs to overcome together but as seen in the series, sometimes people with money and power can get away from it without consequences.

All Of Us Are Dead presents intriguing story and problems wrapped in graphic scenes where desperate high school students attempting to flee from the zombies. As seen in the series, they hoped to rely on adult but they eventually realized that only they can save themselves and it was time to start to rely less on adult who can be quite unreliable.

Despite being relatively new in the south korean film industry, from Yoon Chan-young, Park Ji-hu, and Lomon, they did a good job in playing as high school students. It’s even more so when they managed to agitate me for silly things they do during the outbreak. While watching it, I was wondering if that was part of their naivete and attempt to show that the things they do is exactly what any highschool students would during such time. First, they don’t know how to construct weapon except a few of them, and second, they don’t have a good organizational skills where they could manage to survive longer. They were simply there to survive and hoping adults would come into their rescue.

All Of Us Are dead is not just about good-looking casts but also the story that wraps it all together. In the end, what will happen to the main protagonist? Will the survive the outbreak? How can they end it when the virus have mutated?

This is why I am really looking forward to the second season of the series. I wanted to see new setting and how the main characters overcome their adversity and adjusting themselves into the new world. Maybe there’s more zombie and superpower zombie? Who knows. I certainly feel a lot more enthusiastic on the second season and hoping it won’t be such a flop given the first season received quite good reception worldwide.

Synopsis: Henry Sugar is a tycoon very bored with his own life. One day, he acquired a strange ability: seeing through objects to the point of “predicting the future” with the help of a book he stole.

The greatest prize for any filmmaker is to show the world their own signature in their projects. Creating this type of identity is not easy, it generally requires many years of work, many stories told and acceptance by specialized critics and the general public. Wes Anderson managed to do this, and it's clear how easily recognizable his identity is in every project he chooses to work on. This short movie is no exception, and once again establishes his name as a unique and visionary director within its own visual context.

Based on a short story by Roald Dahl, the script is adapted and written by Anderson himself, and presents us with a simple plot, but one that has an interesting moral lesson considering its relatively dramatic context. Through the “enigmatic” image of Henry Sugar (a rich man, but who never worked and acquired his fortune through family merit), the public learns the story of someone who developed the unlikely ability to see without using his eyes. The big question is: How to send a visual message to the brain without using the eyes? Let's find out.

This is one of the plot's proposals, to immerse the audience in an extremely detailed presentation of how a man develops such an unusual ability. During a monotonous party, Henry manages to steal an apparently unimportant book, but which hid a great secret: the step-by-step guide (described by an older man called Imdad Khan) on how to see without using vision. After reading the book carefully, and then beginning to exhaustively train everything that was written, Henry now has this same skill.

The script has an extremely descriptive narrative, and can easily tire the audience due to its approach with a very dynamic literary effect for a filmed production. The movie wastes no time in breaking the fourth wall, and quickly showing the viewer that there will be a direct interaction between those on and off the screen. This comes to fruition as the characters appear, and always interact with the camera. Always describing his actions in moving detail, as if a third person was “reading a book” to us.

Initially, it is a very peculiar approach (and once again this reinforces the type of work that is done by Anderson). However, things become increasingly natural when the dynamic resource is used more frequently. This is a very positive point, because it ends up erasing that possible feeling of “strangeness” that can be bitterly digested by a part of the public that is more focused on the reality of the facts. Within the adaptation proposal, there is a great deal of success, but still, there is not much depth in what is being built. Just frames and frames.

Scene transitions are great. There is a very theatrical atmosphere to everything that is shown. From the scenarios that are being modified according to the needs of the script, to the colors that are used to illustrate everything. The visual factor is something very imposing in Anderson's productions, and here he once again brings this resource as his greatest success. When all this is mixed on screen with the dynamism of transitions of places, shapes, lights and a unique color palette, magic happens, and even the most boring moments of the movie become thought-provoking.

There are many comedic elements that mix with more dramatic tones. The theatrical basis that dominates the project helps to create a paved path to demonstrate the duality of the tale in terms of veracity. After all, everything that is being told could easily be just a lie full of well-adjusted elements (and this is clear with the story of the levitating character). This “narrative play” is something that greatly enhances the weight of the entire plot, inserting appropriate tones to make the adaptation something unique within what it has tried to build since its beginning.

In the cast, names like Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley and Dev Patel deliver very good performances, but because there is no depth to their respective characters, there is nothing special about what is seen on screen. Everything is very well executed, but Henry's steps (after having learned a great moral lesson) as he earns more and more money, are shown hastily (like the entire script on purpose), and this invalidates a possible empathy on the part of the public, a more detailed compression.

Wes Anderson opted for a much more narrative approach in describing characters, places and contemplative situations than in the context of the plot as a whole. There is an excess in the descriptions of even the simplest acts done by the characters, while what was most important to deepen them (mainly Henry's own story) became a “background” argument. Even though it is a short film, a few additional minutes to better present its content would have been a more assertive decision to avoid a feeling of "narrative emptiness".

Clearly, there is a very strong feeling that something is missing in the script's resolution (which, incidentally, is inconclusive) and the fact that the project is short does not invalidate its need to be better explained. This is the only weakest point in the plot, because it borders on the path of subjectivity. Although the last scene validates all its content, it is very clear that there is an ambiguity regarding the “facts” presented. In any case, the descriptive dynamics follow a very emphatic line, but choose to do so in relation to the characters and not in their respective actions in the script.

In other words, I would say that The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is a movie without much depth in terms of narrative impact, but extremely interesting in visual terms. Full of small and intelligent cinematic touches, this project has its merits and one of them is providing the viewer with a unique experience within a very characteristic proposal. Maybe, if the movie were a feature movie, things would be even more fun and interesting than they really are, but so far, it's something a bit plastic, but beautiful.

Wes Anderson logró hacer esto y está claro cuán fácilmente reconocible es su identidad en cada proyecto en el que elige trabajar. Este cortometraje no es una excepción, y una vez más consagra su nombre como director único y visionario dentro de su propio contexto visual.

Dentro de la propuesta de adaptación hay mucho éxito, pero aún no hay mucha profundidad en lo que se está construyendo. Sólo marcos y marcos.

Las transiciones de escena son geniales. Hay una atmósfera muy teatral en todo lo que se muestra. Desde los escenarios que se van modificando según las necesidades del guion, hasta los colores que se utilizan para ilustrarlo todo. El factor visual es algo muy imponente en las producciones de Anderson, y aquí vuelve a traer este recurso como su mayor acierto. Cuando todo esto se mezcla en la pantalla con el dinamismo de las transiciones de lugares, formas, luces y una paleta de colores única, ocurre la magia e incluso los momentos más aburridos de la película se vuelven estimulantes.

Hay muchos elementos cómicos que se mezclan con tonos más dramáticos. La base teatral que domina el proyecto ayuda a crear un camino pavimentado para demostrar la dualidad del cuento en términos de veracidad. Al fin y al cabo, todo lo que se cuenta fácilmente podría ser sólo una mentira llena de elementos bien ajustados (y esto queda claro con la historia del personaje levitando). Este “juego narrativo” es algo que potencia enormemente el peso de toda la trama, insertando tonos adecuados para hacer de la adaptación algo único dentro de lo que se ha intentado construir desde sus inicios.

En el reparto, nombres como Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley y Dev Patel ofrecen muy buenas actuaciones, pero como no hay profundidad en sus respectivos personajes, no hay nada especial en lo que se ve en pantalla. Todo está muy bien ejecutado, pero los pasos de Henry (después de haber aprendido una gran lección moral) a medida que gana cada vez más dinero, se muestran apresuradamente (como todo el guión a propósito), y esto invalida una posible empatía por parte del público, una compresión más detallada.

Wes Anderson optó por un enfoque mucho más narrativo al describir personajes, lugares y situaciones contemplativas que en el contexto de la trama en su conjunto. Este es el único punto débil de la trama, porque roza el camino de la subjetividad. Si bien la última escena valida todo su contenido, queda muy claro que existe una ambigüedad respecto a los “hechos” presentados. En cualquier caso, la dinámica descriptiva sigue una línea muy rotunda, pero opta por hacerlo en relación a los personajes y no en sus respectivas acciones en el guión.

En otras palabras, diría que La maravillosa historia de Henry Sugar es una película sin mucha profundidad en términos de impacto narrativo, pero sumamente interesante en términos visuales. Lleno de pequeños e inteligentes toques cinematográficos, este proyecto tiene sus méritos y uno de ellos es brindar al espectador una experiencia única dentro de una propuesta muy característica. Quizás, si la película fuera un largometraje, las cosas serían aún más divertidas e interesantes de lo que realmente son, pero hasta ahora es algo uma película um poco plástica, pero hermosa.

Sinopse: Henry Sugar é um magnata muito entediado com à própria vida. Certo dia, ele que adquiriu uma capacidade estranha: enxergar através dos objetos a ponto de “prever o futuro” com a ajuda de um livro que roubou.

O maior prêmio de qualquer cineasta é mostrar ao mundo à sua própria assinatura em seus projetos. Criar esse tipo de identidade não é algo fácil, geralmente requer muitos anos de trabalho, muitas estórias contadas e uma aceitação por parte dos críticos especializados e do público em geral. Wes Anderson conseguiu fazer isso, é fica claro como à sua identidade é facilmente reconhecível em todos os projetos que ele escolhe trabalhar. Esse curta-metragem não é uma exceção, e uma vez mais, firma o nome dele como um diretor único e visionário dentro do seu próprio contexto visual.

Baseado em um conto de Roald Dahl, o roteiro é adaptado e escrito pelo próprio Anderson, e nos apresenta uma trama simples, mas que tem uma lição de moral interessante considerando o seu contexto relativamente dramático. Através da imagem “enigmática” de Henry Sugar (um homem rico, mas que nunca trabalhou e adquiriu sua fortuna por mérito familiar), o público conhece a estória de alguém que desenvolveu à improvável habilidade de enxergar sem utilizar os olhos. A grande questão é: Como enviar uma mensagem visual para o cérebro sem utilizar os olhos? Vamos descobrir.

Essa é uma das propostas da trama, mergulhar o público dentro de uma apresentação extremamente detalhada sobre como um homem desenvolve uma habilidade tão incomum. Durante uma monótona festa, Henry consegue roubar um livro aparentemente sem tanta importância, mas que escondia um grande segredo: o passo-a-passo (descrito por um homem mais velho, chamado Imdad Khan) de como enxergar sem utilizar à visão. Após ler o livro atentamente, e logo em seguida começar a treinar exaustivamente tudo o que estava escrito, Henry agora é dono desta mesma habilidade.

O roteiro tem uma narrativa extremamente descritiva, e pode cansar o público facilmente por ter uma abordagem com efeito literário muito dinamizado para uma produção filmada. O filme não perde tempo em quebrar a quarta parede, e mostrar rapidamente ao telespectador que haverá uma interação direta entre quem está dentro e quem está fora da tela. Isso se concretiza à medida em que os personagens vão aparecendo, e sempre interagem com à câmera. Sempre descrevendo suas ações em detalhes de movimento, como se uma terceira pessoa estivesse “lendo um livro” para nós.

Inicialmente, é uma abordagem bem peculiar (e uma vez mais isso reforça o tipo de trabalho que é feito por Anderson). No entanto, as coisas ficam cada vez mais naturais quando o recurso dinâmico vai sendo utilizado com mais frequência. Esse é um ponto muito positivo, porque acaba apagando aquela possível sensação de “estranheza” que pode ter uma digestão amarga por uma parte do público mais centrado na realidade dos fatos. Dentro da proposta da adaptação, há um grande acerto, mas ainda sim, não há muita profundidade no que está sendo construído. Apenas frames e frames.

As transições de cenas são ótimas. Há uma atmosfera muito teatral em tudo o que é mostrado. Desde os cenários que são sendo modificados de acordo com às necessidades do roteiro, até as cores que são utilizadas para ilustrar tudo. O fator visual é algo muito imponente nas produções de Anderson, e aqui ele traz mais uma vez esse recurso como o seu maior acerto. Quando tudo isso é misturado na tela com o dinamismo das transições de lugares, formas, luzes e uma paleta de cores únicas, a mágica acontece, e até mesmo os momentos mais entediantes do filme se tornam instigantes.

Há muitos elementos cômicos que se misturam com tons mais dramáticos. A base teatral que domina o projeto ajuda a criar um caminho pavimentado para demonstrar a dualidade do conto em termos de veracidade. Afinal, tudo o que está sendo contado pode facilmente ser apenas uma mentira cheia de elementos bem ajustados (e isso fica claro com a estória do personagem que levitava). Essa “brincadeira narrativa” é algo que favorece muito o peso de toda à trama, inserindo tons apropriados para tornar à adaptação em algo singular dentro do que tenta construir desde o seu início.

No elenco, nomes como Benedict Cumberbatch, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley e Dev Patel entregam performances muito boas, mas pelo fato de não haver nenhum tipo de profundidade em seus respectivos personagens, não há nada demais no que é visto na tela. Tudo é muito bem executado, mas os passos de Henry (após ter aprendido uma grande lição de moral) à medida em que ele vai ganhando cada vez mais dinheiro, são mostrados apressadamente (como todo o roteiro de forma proposital), e isso invalida uma possível empatia por parte do público toda uma compressão mais detalhada.

Wes Anderson apostou em uma abordagem muito mais narrativa em descrição de personagens, lugares e situações contemplativas do que no contexto da trama como um todo. Há um excesso até nas descrições dos atos mais simples feitos dos personagens, enquanto o que era mais importante para aprofundá-los (principalmente a própria história do Henry) se tornou um argumento de “segundo plano”. Mesmo sendo um curta-metragem, alguns minutos adicionais para apresentar melhor o seu conteúdo teria sido uma decisão mais assertiva para evitar uma sensação de "vazio narrativo".

Nitidamente, há uma sensação muito forte de que algo está faltando na resolução roteiro (que aliás, é inconclusiva) e o fato do projeto ser curto não invalida à sua necessidade de ser melhor explicado. Esse é o único ponto mais fraco da trama, porque ela margeia pelo caminho da subjetividade. Apesar da última cena validar todo o seu conteúdo, é muito notário que há uma ambiguidade em relação aos “fatos” apresentados. De qualquer forma, à dinâmica descritiva segue uma linha muito enfática, mas opta por fazer em relação aos personagens e não nas suas respectivas ações no roteiro.

Em outras palavras, eu diria que A Maravilhosa História de Henry Sugar é um filme sem tanta profundidade em termos de impacto narrativo, mas extremamente interessante em termos visuais. Repletos de pequenos e inteligentes toques cinematográficos, esse projeto tem os seus méritos e um deles é proporcionar ao telespectador uma experiência única dentro de uma proposta que é muito característica. Talvez, se o filme fosse um longa-metragem, as coisas seriam ainda mais divertidas e interessantes do que elas realmente são, mas até aqui, é algo um tanto quando plástico, mas bonito.

Since this is spooky month, I am going to talk about something called, K-zombie throughout the month. In case you didn’t know, South Korea has something called K-zombie. It is basically a zombie genre that exist through film and series in South Korea. This term itself can be heard on Racket Boys, where one of the character explained what K-Zombie was. They even watched Train To Busan in one of their scene.

Technically, Train To Busan isn’t the first K-zombie ever made but it was the one that got international recognition and was received well. It appears that the film gave a new life to K-Zombie genre that today, you must have heard of All of us are dead, Kingdom Series, and Happiness. Yet those are tiny examples of K-zombie genre.

What makes K-zombie intriguing and deserve its own name for a genre? usually, in western Zombie, they tend to focus on survival instead of its characters and politics at play but in South Korea, they focus on the character’s background story, the politics, and their relationship during the cataclysmic event fighting the zombie. They have different style of Zombies and also the story that wraps its characters are always something to look forward to. The survival its there and somehow, the people in K-zombie always getting involved with some type of government affairs even during Joseon era such as the kingdom where zombie and politics aren't far from each other.

Today I’ll be reviewing Kingdom Series and Film. They have 2 season and it comes with a standalone film that explores the story before the mass outbreak happened and also the crown prince character.

This series was released back in 2019 with a fictional kingdom setting after Japanese invasion to South Korea back in 16th. There is a political intricate between its character especially when the King falls ill and there was a wind of rumors and the empty throne. However, there’s the Crown Prince, from opposing clan that rivals Chief State Councilor who wanted the power to be at his hands. Under the chief state councilor,there was corruption among its member and where people aren’t actually equal. The nobles were all arrogant and they look down on everyday citizen. They made rules that also heavily taxed everyday citizen while they were starving everywhere. At the same time, Crown Prince, eventually found out about his father condition and was then curious of the nature from it.

In separate village, a group of people were eating flesh from an infected corpse because they were starving. They ended up getting infected and became something in modern time called Zombie. Apparently, turning people dead to alive was also used as some type of Bio-weapons when they were fighting the Japanese during the war. And the Crown prince who was played by Ju Ji Hoon, lead the story to figure out the beginning of the plague and trying to save his dynasty with the help of Seong-Bi,( Bae Doona), a nurse during Joseon era, Yeong-shin (Kim Sung-Kyu) a skilled marksman who survived the first outbreak and who actually feed people with infected corpse.

In the series, Yeong-shin is actually the character with most character development as his morality was quite skewed but overtime, he was on the same side of the crown prince and decided to fight over the outbreak. He is also recurring character on the second season and most likely included in the main ones.

Since the ending was quite a cliffhanger, it is somehow expected that the 3rd season would air but nothing has been set in stone. Kingdom isn’t too long as it only has 6 episodes/season that tries to wrap everything together. Interestingly they have a few years apart between season 1 and two which I am sure for those who watch them back in 2019 was quite impatient about the second season.

In my personal opinion, Joseon era was the worst of time for outbreak to happen. The palace has a lot of conflicts, they only care about the well-being of the noble, and has little weapon to fight it off. But in the series stated that there’s a way to fight it off especially when the source was a plant. In which during those time, South Korean medicine relied on plantation knowledge to cure their disease. So this is why, despite that it’s categorically zombie, it has many layers to it.

I think this is a good start if you’re binge watching K-zombie as it provides interesting insight, a subject to compare to contrast with modern time zombie such as All Of US Are Dead or monstrous zombie like Sweet Home series. However, it looks like end of 2023 and early 2024 will be filled with K-zombie again. I am definitely thrilled to watch the continuation of all these zombie series.

Desde hace un buen tiempo he visto films del género Slasher que se complementan muy bien a otros géneros como es el de la comedia oscura, ciencia-ficción y viajes en el tiempo o que usan el tiempo como un elemento importante; puedo citar películas como "Detention" (2011), "The Final Girls" (2015) y "Happy Death Day" (2017); estos son claros ejemplos que usan las características antes citadas para hacer una producción entretenida que principalmente trate de respetar las reglas impuestas en este estilo de films. Personalmente, tengo debilidad por este tipo de películas y es por eso que estaba interesado en reseñar la película, original de Amazon Prime Video y producida (en esta oportunidad) por "Blumhouse Television".

For quite some time now I have seen films of the Slasher genre that complement very well to other genres such as dark comedy, sci-fi and time travel or that use time as an important element; I can cite films like "Detention" (2011), "The Final Girls" (2015) and "Happy Death Day" (2017); these are clear examples that use the above mentioned characteristics to make an entertaining production that mainly tries to respect the rules imposed in this style of films. Personally, I have a weakness for this type of films and that is why I was interested in reviewing the film, original from Amazon Prime Video and produced (in this opportunity) by "Blumhouse Television".

"Totally Killer" es un slasher/comedia oscura, que nos relata la vida de "Jamie", una chica de 16 años que vive en el pequeño pueblo de "North Vernon", un lugar que pareciera que no sucede nada, pero en realidad si, ya que en una noche de Halloween, la aparición de un asesino conocido como "Sweet Sixteen Killer" creó una gran conmoción entre los habitantes de ese tranquilo lugar; 35 años pasaron de tan horrible hecho y la tranquilidad en que vivían los habitantes de Vernon, se verá interrumpida cuando nuevamente ese asesino decide regresar y tomar una inesperada víctima, la madre de Jamie; eso hará que nuestra joven protagonista deberá hacer lo imposible como es viajar al pasado para detener a un vil asesino, pero deberá hacerlo rápido porque si no podrá terminar atrapada en ese lugar; esto se convertirá en una carrera para sobrevivir a otra época y a un incógnito asesino.

A pesar de que este film presenta géneros del cine que me agradan, tenía expectativas bajas porque temía que puede ser de esas producciones en dónde la premisa parece ser correcta, pero su ejecución no ser la mejor. Esta es una película pequeña, simple y eso creo que es perfecto para este tipo de films que ser de clase B no debería ser un problema; con respecto al trabajo de la directora Nahnatchka Khan quien cumple este rol por segunda ocasión, opino que hace correctas escenas en dónde el asesino hace presencia; me gusta que a pesar de ser una comedia, respete las escenas de terror dando valor y fuerza a las escenas de los ataques; esto es uno de los puntos positivos del film; me gustó mucho el cómo se demuestra a un pasional y agresivo asesino, el cual usa una muy buena máscara.

El guion es lo que menos me ha gustado porque no es consecuente con las características que presenta el film, la principal es que es vista como una comedia y en ese género no funciona, no da risa, los personajes no están bien escritos, es como ver una misma versión en diferentes personajes y por eso también falla en lo que es las películas Slasher; lo otro es que a pesar de "profundizar" o de tratar de desarrollar de mejor manera todo lo referente a los viajes en el tiempo, creo que pierde fuerza al momento en que muchos sucesos ocurren porque sí, la conveniencia de la historia es algo que me pareció exagerado y sé que está es una historia rápida, pero se puedo escribir mejor.

Although this film presents genres of cinema that I like, I had low expectations because I feared that it may be one of those productions where the premise seems to be correct, but its execution may not be the best. This is a small, simple film and that I think is perfect for this kind of films that being B class should not be a problem; regarding the work of the director Nahnatchka Khan who plays this role for the second time, I think she makes correct scenes where the killer is present; I like that despite being a comedy, she respects the horror scenes giving value and strength to the scenes of the attacks; this is one of the positive points of the film; I really liked how a passionate and aggressive killer is shown, who wears a very good mask.

The script is what I liked the least because it is not consistent with the characteristics of the film, the main one is that it is seen as a comedy and in that genre does not work, it does not give laughter, the characters are not well written, it's like seeing the same version in different characters and therefore also fails in what is the Slasher movies; The other thing is that in spite of "going deeper" or trying to develop in a better way everything related to time travel, I think it loses strength when many events happen just because, the convenience of the story is something that seemed exaggerated and I know this is a fast story, but it could be written better.

La necesidad en que en este tipo de films tanto la "Final Girl" y el Asesino funcione es necesario y creo que el personaje de "Jamie" Interpretado por Kiernan Shipka, es otro punto positivo de esta producción; me gusta que sea independiente, fuerte y decidida, eso no evita que en momentos se comporte como una víctima, pero hay que recordar que enfrenta a un violento y vil asesino, la interpretación de Kiernan es la correcta y en dónde creo que falla es en los diálogos cómicos y no la culpo a ella porque en este caso es una víctima fatal del guion; me hubiera gustado que se complementará más con otros personajes, pero nuevamente, el guion evita que eso suceda y creo que para esta historia esto era algo necesario. No haré referencia a ningún otro desempeño de otro actor, no hay ninguno otro que destaque y ese es otro aspecto negativo de esta película.

The need in this kind of films for both the "Final Girl" and the Killer to work is necessary and I think the character of "Jamie" played by Kiernan Shipka, is another positive point of this production; I like that she is independent, strong and determined, that does not prevent her from behaving like a victim at times, but we must remember that she faces a violent and vile killer, the interpretation of Kiernan is the right one and where I think she fails is in the comic dialogues and I do not blame her because in this case she is a fatal victim of the script; I would have liked her to complement more with other characters, but again, the script prevents that from happening and I think that for this story this was something necessary. I won't reference any other actor's performance, there are no other standouts and that's another negative aspect of this film.

Siendo sincero, "Totally Killer" es un film regular, es una lástima porque tiene las características para ser un buen film, no original, pero si un buen film y lamentablemente no tiene una buena ejecución en sus tres principales características, creo que se queda corta en desarrollar cada una de sus tres elementos, principalmente la comedia la cual no funciona en nada; con respecto a ser una película de terror o Slasher cumple con lo principal en tener a un buen asesino al que me gustó el diseño, la máscara es genial, también me gustó su protagonista, me pareció ideal para esta historia; ahora en lo que falla es en no respetar las demás reglas con respecto a otros personajes, principalmente en las víctimas en dónde todas son iguales, tal vez esa era la intención, pero no me gustó y creo que es debido a lo mala que es la comedia; para cerrar haré referencia al aspecto de los viajes en el tiempo; muchos hicieron referencia a la influencia de "Volver al Futuro" y tienen mucha razón, creo que existe más influencia en esa película que otra más, mi problema es que todo se justifica de una manera tan sencilla que en vez de homenaje o influencia, demuestra ser una errada parodia, aunque no todo es malo porque hay elementos que me sorprendieron y que me gustaron de ver y eso me hizo pensar que existían muy buenas ideas en este film, pero que lamentablemente no se desarrollaron de la mejor manera. A pesar de no tener una opinión netamente positiva del film, la recomiendo de verla, es corta, rápida, tiene correctas escenas de terror y está disponible en Amazon Prime Video.

To be honest, "Totally Killer " is a regular film, it is a pity because it has the characteristics to be a good film, not original, but a good film and unfortunately it does not have a good execution in its three main characteristics, I think it falls short in developing each of its three elements, mainly the comedy which does not work at all; with respect to being a horror or Slasher film it fulfills the main thing in having a good killer who I liked the design, the mask is great, I also liked its protagonist, I thought it was ideal for this story; now where it fails is in not respecting the other rules with respect to other characters, mainly in the victims where they are all the same, maybe that was the intention, but I didn't like it and I think it's because of how bad the comedy is; to close I will make reference to the aspect of time travel; Many made reference to the influence of "Back to the Future" and they are right, I think there is more influence in that film than any other, my problem is that everything is justified in such a simple way that instead of being a tribute or influence, it proves to be a wrong parody, although not everything is bad because there are elements that surprised me and that I liked to see and that made me think that there were very good ideas in this film, but unfortunately they were not developed in the best way. Despite not having a positive opinion of the film, I recommend watching it, it is short, fast, has good horror scenes and is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Could this be considered as a movie from a videogame? I'll assume so. I remember seeing this movie in the cinema, obviously the title was going to catch my attention, it was a movie about Dungeons and Dragons, the most popular role-playing game in the world. The truth is that I've never played it but I had a clear idea of what I was going to find, obviously a story based on a game, usually the audiovisual media that use D&D as a reference do that, I remember seeing here in this community that they talked about an animated series that was also based on this premise, a story collected from a game. And I understand that the possibilities are infinite in these games, which can even become long and eternal (I understand that the players decide when to finish), lasting a long time, in addition to the possibility that they can be resumed at any time the players want. What I like most about D&D despite not having played is the medieval aesthetic and that there are different classes of characters, each specializing in something, seeing a diverse team is always captivating. So well, let's talk about this interesting proposal from Paramount.

The movie puts us in the shoes of Edgin, a thief who together with his team decide to rob a treasure where a resurrection tablet is located, a tablet that Edgin wants to use to revive his wife but when it seems to go well, everything will go terribly wrong, this to the fact that there were several people who made up the team were actually traitors so Edgin and Holga, will end up in prison for a couple of years. When they manage to get out of there they will find that Forge the swindler has managed to get the position of mayor of a city with the help of Sofina, a powerful and treacherous sorceress, Forge has been taking care of Kira, Edgin's daughter, making her turn against her father by telling her that the tablet she wanted to get was actually one of wealth, making her see him as a heartless miser who abandoned his daughter for money. Edgin is going to plan another robbery, bringing together several members of his old team and some new ones, all with the goal of recovering and demonstrating that the tablet is of resurrection to also take his daughter back with him and Holga. A story full of magic and adventure at all times, containing several plot twist that would probably occur in a normal D&D game.

The thing I liked most about the movie without a doubt is the character of Simon, who is the magician of the group of Edgin, his development is simply phenomenal and I could say that at the end of a certain way he steals the show by overcoming all his fears and when he learns to have confidence in himself. Although praising Simon would be an outrage on my part, because each of the protagonists play an important role and it does not feel at all that they are obscured among them, rather they complement each other and in an excellent way. You just have to see how Edgin is able to devise a plan and everyone is able to follow it helping each other, although not everything will be a piece of cake, we will see some discussions along the way and some symptoms of distrust when hope seems lost, but always remember there is a plan B and if that fails, there is a plan C. And when it seems that the movie can not get any better, there are even secondary characters that are simply memorable in all their splendor, they are made in such a characteristic way to be remembered. It is a true journey from beginning to end, going from here to there, looking for objects to carry out the main plan, enemies, friends, dragons, magic, traps and dungeons even some hints of love, it is everything anyone could ask for in this case.

I must admire the landscapes they used for the movie, they are simply beautiful and wonderful, they look so beautiful they look like fantasy, the cities look very realistic and what can I say about the dungeons, they are an incredible technical display. As for the visual effects, at first I thought they would be bad (for a specific scene) but they are actually wonderful, the animations of the magical attacks and the character transformations look too good, you can see the budget invested. I think it's easily a movie for anyone, you just need to meet the requirement that you like adventure and medieval things, it's fascinating in every way. I understand that both for the critics and for the public in general it was a phenomenal movie in every way although I understand that a little more box office revenue was expected, I do not know if it could be considered a failure as such for the company that created it (although what is very clear to me is that this is an excellent promotion for D&D games and does not feel like it, it is not forced at all) but the final product is precious, if you like fantasy you should see this movie yes or yes.

This is a series I have been wanting to watch for some time now, as usual a bit skeptical if it would be good or not scoring 7s and 8s on sites so it obviously has to be good, I'm a sucker for war theme anything from movies to tv series, plus the undercover agent part that is very exciting.

Special Ops: Lioness as you guess is about women who go to war but not exactly to just shoot, it is a special operations program for women to get involve with female related to male targets, say they are after a man but know his daughter or wife are usually in contact then they send out a female agent to infiltrate them, become friends with them until they get enough information and if possible kill the target. This program is lead by Joe who recruit the members, it all sound easy like get dress well, become friends, gain their trust but the dirty and savage part is when their cover is blown and now Joe has to take the decision, will the agent get safe so it can be extract or is it time to cut loose ends meaning pull the trigger if necessary to not compromise the program.

The episodes starts with an attack to a CIA post, it was a very large amount of guys attacking but it almost didn't make sense, not that they don't explain the reason for the attack but how they were running forward and then to the sides I don't know, once the shooting stops, adrenaline goes down and you re watch the scene you find it empty, but I have to say it was a great opening, in five minutes you had massive shooting, ak47 screaming all over the place, a FUCKING HAWG one of the most badass aircraft in movies and irl clearing the field and even a drone strike hitting the target. Once the music was over the story starts to unfold, even though it was a great opening I doubt this is how the series will be, I don't think we are going to have this massive shooting on every episode.

First episode, time to meet main characters and their motives, basically what the hell is this story about, on the picture above is Joe women in charge of calling the shots on the field, I don't think she is in charge as usually there is some one back at home moving the pieces but on the field she decides if you stay or go, on the first episode her undercover agent gets identified, Joe never check her for tattoos and seems she had a cross with a name on her side and it was seen by one of the women on the village, depending on where you at it can be a big NO NO since they are in middle east. Joe tried to extract her from the location but it was already too late for her, extremist found her and were about to cut of her head but Joe authorize drop a missile from a drone to safe her the pain and keep things secret as possible, desperate move for a desperate situation.

Next on the startup we got Cruz Manuelos, a women who is trying to make her life straight after making a lot of bad decisions, lives with her boyfriend who plays been gangster but she is over with that life, now works a honest job and is not into any of her bad habits, this creates a conflict been them and after an argument because she hits a girl inside the house, Cruz's boyfriend hit her with a jab straight to her face.

Cruz wants to be over with her boyfriend and his old life so next morning she took vengeance, pack her things and wait for him to wake up to hit him twice in the face with a pan, the chase starts until they arrive to a US Marine recruiting center, she enters screaming for help until a big ass Marine steps in between her and her boyfriend. She felt safe with the Marine, she realize if she didn't wanted to be abuse anymore one of her options was to become tougher, US Marines training will do that for her so she enrolls, top of her class, tougher than male recruits, faster, smarter, she was the full package, perfect asset to join the Lioness.

After a lot of reports, debriefs, interviews, Joe comes back home with two things in mind, first is go home spend some time with her family although is not that easy because she spends most of her time out of the country on classified missions meaning no contact with her family, comes back home and between her two kids her son is more sensible to not seen her for so long, her husband holds the fort while she is out.

Joe ended up recruiting Cruz, after all she is at the top of her class and Joe had to move fast, she needed another undercover agent, Cruz and Joe are not best friends, actually Joe doesn't seem to like her that much, Cruz is now in my opinion over confident, been a Marine make her feel she has a lot of power and can conquer everything life throws at her but when your neck is at risk that's when true stars shine, for her first task she did panic a bit.

Different than most common undercover agents that already know everything about their target all Cruz knows is her face, undercover name Zara Adid but she forgot the moment Aaliyah Amrohi ask for her name, the moment Cruz got into the car to get ready and meet the target she starts panicking and Joe had to calm her down, the hole idea of knowing nothing about the target is to lower the risks of getting caught and make the expirience as real as possible, become friends, create a bond but with always in mind that this is just another job.

This series so far is exactly as what the tittle says, a Special Operations team that work with Lioness, top of the class Female Marines who are fearless, tough and can still be a perfect lady, Cruz is not the most girly girly but she knows her way around. Cruz story feels a bit crunch but I guess the series is not about that, after all this is another Army theme TV series bringing in something different, its the first time I see this type of series based on a group of female Special Ops Marines, usually is the other way around and that's interesting also how they are thrown into the water without knowing much about the target, the end goal is the same locate and get/kill the bad guy.

I wonder if this series will be big enough to get several season something like SEAL Team currently on its sixth season or something shorter like Six only got two seasons, I don't see how a series with very few characters and no side stories could make it into a more than two or three seasons, I'm also curious of how much action we will get on each episode because it was five minutes of gunpowder and then the rest was a few japs, kicks, arguing and that was it, less than forty five minutes per episodes.

I give this first episode a solid 7.5 just because of what I mention, I think they try to buy the audience with all the shooting at the beginning but after that the action starts to soften little by little.
