I have a lot of weeks and even months to write an Anime review, so here i go. To begin with, a few months ago and due to nostalgia, i got in the trading card games, not to play the games or for investment purposes, though. I said the main drive was nostalgia and besides that i saw some freaking awesome full art cards.
So i started with Pokemon cards, then bought some One Piece cards, then Dragonball and now i am waiting for my first Digimon booster box. Also, i now have like 4-5 different Master's sets to complete :p! Btw the art is amazing, start collecting noooow!
So even though i have watched a lot of the Pokemon series, and everything related to Dragon Ball and One Piece i remember dropping Digimon since i was a kid. I have watched the first ones but I dropped it at Digimon Tamers. I decided a 1-2 weeks ago to start rewatching it especially now that i am waiting the booster box in order to know more about the lore of the cards I'll obtain. I won't do any Spoilers though!.
Plot
Digimon Tamers came out in Japan from April 2001 to March 2002 and has 51 episodes in total. This was the good era when we had no seasons and everything aired weekly.
Our protagonist is Takato Matsuki, who played the Digimon card game and always dreamed of having a Digimon on his own, to the point that he had already drawn it. Somehow, his card reader transforms into a D-Power Digivice and his creation Guilmon, comes to life. A strange digimon known as Calumon comes to the real world and has some strange powers that helps other digimon evolve.
This is basically the root of the adventure as some Digimon that live in the Digiworld are hunting it while the protagonist and his friends are trying to protect it.
Good & Bad
Now the good things are the nostalgia that hit me when i saw it. I was still remembering some of the characters, digimon and their evolution and in fact had a toy when i was younger from this series. Also, the animation from this era was great.
Something else i really liked and having being to Japan was the history ride of Japan in 20s. Such an amazing way to see how everything was like 25 years ago. Last but not least the voice actors of Guilmon is freaking MASAKO NOZAWA the voice of GOKUUUUUUU!
Finally, in terms of the good things, Digimon are quite darker and far from their era in terms of the plot in general and from the competitor, which is Pokemon. I think a reason why Digimon didn't have the same impact as Pokemon was that while it targeted kids, it is an anime that, in terms of plot and darkness it's towards older kids.
The only bad thing i have to say is that the fights or most of the fights to be accurate, are extremely lame. It's like one attack from the enemy, one attack from the protagonist and boom, the battle ended. Also, another pattern is the enemy digimon attacks, the protagonist attacks as well but does zero damage. The digievolution happens and with one hit the enemy digimon loses. In other words, most of the fights have close to zero suspense and interest whatsoever. Also, for far mostly every digimon has like 1 move.
Share your view on this if you have watched this anime or like the cards!!
Apple TV dropped Murderbot couple of weeks ago and Im just starting to catch up on some of the TV series, I wasn't expecting to get this hooked on a cyborg having an existential crisis but here we are. Its kinda different watching a Robot come up with so much drama, not your typical robot show where some shiny android learns to love humanity through heartwarming moments and cheesy dialogue or go totally rogue on humans, this is about a security unit that hacked its own programming and now spends most of its time watching soap operas while secretly wanting to avoid human contact at all costs, not only because he finds humans stressing but to not blow his cover. Alexander Skarsgard voices this antisocial killing machine with the kind of stealth although not dead man style that makes you forget you're watching a sci fi show, it feels more like listening to your most introverted friend complain about having to attend a work party or just been around others in the office cafeteria. The story could not be more simple but brilliant, take a corporate owned security robot, give it free will and watch it realize that freedom is way more complicated than just jail breaking himself, especially when you are stuck protecting the very species you find incredibly annoying. I found the first episode very entertaining as I can relate a lot to the introverted bot, the series doesnt try to be an action series even though there is some shooting and monsters but its more about how Murderbot tries to be as stealth as possible between humans, its neither about be profound or preachy about artificial intelligence, instead it just lets our reluctant hero bitch about everything while secretly caring more than it wants to admit.
The episode starts with this cyborg finishing up a mining gig where the human workers treat it like garbage, using it as entertainment by making it raise its arm for no reason except to be assholes, I think this was the OG flashbacks he kept getting before going full murderbot, he mention several times how they get recycled so I wonder if a little piece of that falty software or material stay with him. Six months of been treat like crap and our future murderbot finally cracks the code on its governor module, the thing that forces it to obey every human command no matter how stupid or degrading and suddenly it's free to make its own choices. But instead of going on a killing spree or escaping to some distant galaxy, it does something weirdly human, it goes back to work because the alternative is getting melted down by the corporation that owns it. He self named Murderbot, he then gets assigned to a new team of scientists from some hippie commune called Preservation Alliance and right away you can tell these people are different because they actually feel bad about essentially renting a sentient slave for their expedition. Dr. Mensah and her crew are describe as these well meaning environmental researchers who hold hands and hum together to make group decisions, which obviously makes our cynical cyborg want to crawl into a corner and die from secondhand embarrassment, I think we going to get a lot of context and character development on this series as how they started describing every other person that comes up going through the entire team.
Things get interesting when a giant centipede creature attacks two of the scientists during their survey work, forcing Murderbot to spring into action and save them even though it technically doesn't have to anymore but all he wants is to continue downloading content and avoid humans, does this cyborg goes full pirate on the humans downloading all kind of content? a moving Piratebay? jajaja thats hilarious. This rescue scene is where we see the real conflict at its core, our rogue bot could have just stood there and watched these people get eaten but instead it throws itself into danger to protect them, getting seriously injured in the process and the aftermath is even more complex because when one of the scientists freezes up in shock, Murderbot removes its helmet to show its human like face and tries to comfort her by basically saying "everything will be alright, you got my word", something it learned from watching too much television. Taking off his helmet make him look vulnerable and ends up being a huge mistake because it's completely outside normal security behavior, leading to suspicion from the team's tech expert who starts questioning whether their protection is malfunctioning or worse almost blaming Murderbot of them not getting proper secure data about their maps or worst been it operating outside of the system control. Right from episode one there seems to be this perfect balance between the action sequences with character development, never felt one sided, showing us that beneath all the sarcasm and misanthropy, there is something heroic about this character that it doesn't even recognize in itself. You can feel the internal struggle as Murderbot grapples with having choices for the first time while still being trapped by circumstances beyond its control, creating this perfect metaphor for anyone who has ever felt stuck in a job they hate but can't leave.
The mystery element kicks in when the team realizes their corporate supplied maps are missing crucial information about dangerous wildlife which explains why nobody warned them about the giant death worms lurking underground, but then again their tech leader Gurathin, who is a human with implants that enhance his capabilities, still believes there is something wrong with their security cyborg when in fact was never his fault, you will grow a grudge against this Gurathing for sure. There is definitely some corporate conspiracy building up, probably involving the same company that manufactures security units and then deliberately creates situations where they are absolutely necessary for survival. While all this is going on the core of the series starts to heat up as Murderbot is dealing with fragmented memories of its previous assignment, seven seconds of footage showing what appears to be a massacre involving security units and dead humans but it can't tell if he was the perpetrator or just witnessed the violence. These flashbacks add a dark enigma to the character that keeps you guessing about whether our security unit might actually be dangerous, even though everything we have seen suggests it's more likely to quote soap opera dialogue than hurt innocent people. The social relationship between the team members create additional tension as they debate whether to trust their obviously unusual security unit, with some seeing it as a person deserving of kindness while others view it as a potentially lethal piece of equipment that needs to be shut down immediately. The episode ends with Dr. Mensah checking on Murderbot's wellbeing, a gesture of genuine care that completely terrifies our antisocial hero because it's never experienced anyone treating it with basic human decency before, all he does is day dream how he kills every human around him to not blow his cover.
I know this show is going to be so relatable for many, I actually do a 100% from the point that most of the time I enjoy been alone and not having people around me but there are sometimes when I do want to go out and do it to feel different for a moment until I go back to the same capsule mode, this time combine those circumstances with a literal cyborg assassin, every awkward social interaction and desperate attempt to avoid human contact feels like watching someone with severe social anxiety trying to navigate a workplace full of extroverts. The series has this perfect balance between humor and emotions, making you laugh at Murderbot's internal monologue while also feeling sorry for a being that's trapped between two worlds without belonging to either one. Alexander Skarsgard brings exactly the right energy to this role, delivering the kind of dry, self deprecating personality that makes you forget you are watching someone play a robot instead of just a really antisocial person. The production values are solid without being flashy, creating a believable future world where corporate capitalism has extended its reach across the galaxy and turned sentient beings into rental equipment. This first episode sets up what promises to be a fascinating exploration of identity, freedom, and the question of what it means to be human when humanity itself seems pretty questionable most of the time, all wrapped up in a package that's entertaining enough to make you forget you're getting a philosophy lesson. I'm giving this one an 8 out of 10 because it manages to be funny, thoughtful and truely engaging while avoiding most of the pretentious bullshit that usually comes with AI stories, definitely worth watching if you just want to see a robot complain about having to give speeches.
Drama, suspense, alien invasion, and lots of snow—that’s what El Eternauta brings us, a series based on a classic Argentine science fiction story. We’ll watch as the inhabitants of Buenos Aires are forced to rethink their entire lives while trying to make sense of the chaos unfolding around them.
SYNOPSIS:
Juan Salvo and his group of friends are gathered to play truco when the power goes out and an unusual—and deadly—snowfall begins. Each of them starts to devise strategies to survive whatever is happening outside Tano’s house, as things begin to take a chilling turn. Juan Salvo sets out on a mission to find his daughter and ex-wife, while tensions inside Tano’s home continue to rise.
The story begins with a specific set of characters that evolves over the course of the episodes. But the core group consists of Juan, Tano, Tano’s wife Elena, Omar, Lucas, and El Ruso, who work together to piece together what’s really happening outside. What seemed like just another night of cards, friends, and drinks turns into a full-blown nightmare.
Then comes Inga, a Venezuelan delivery driver who joins the group and experiences the full madness and fear brought on by the deadly snowfall. But Juan is focused solely on getting out of Tano’s house to search for his daughter and ex-wife. Despite disagreements, tension, and discomfort among the group, they do their best to stick together and face the terrifying unknown.
AESTHETICS
I think the series is quite engaging, with a very cinematic use of color grading. The cool tones stand out, effectively placing us in the snowy setting. It also enhances the overall atmosphere of crisis that permeates the story. I really appreciated that—being a Latin American production, it closely resembles the style of non-Spanish-language sci-fi formats, which usually lead the genre.
I’d say the first episode is quite dark in terms of lighting, but that also contributes to the narrative of unease and uncertainty surrounding the unexpected and toxic snowfall.
THE STORY
Now, if we focus on the story itself, it's quite interesting to see how the group evolves, how the city is affected, and how chaos gradually unfolds. It’s a very realistic series—events happen progressively. First we witness shock, fear, desperation, cunning, selfishness, madness, and collective panic. But we also see the opposite: kindness, friendship, perseverance, resilience, patience, love, and even unity.
El Eternauta portrays how a seemingly ordinary group of middle-aged men manage to use their skills and talents to protect their loved ones. And I mention their age because we're used to seeing these kinds of stories told through much younger characters—full of intense action scenes and highly stylized personas. However, El Eternauta highlights social closeness and invites us to ask: what would really happen if we lived through something like this? Terrifying!
CHAOS
One of the things that frustrated me the most was watching how the chaos slowly brewed in silence. There were a few bursts—like looting—but overall, the tension kept rising with every passing minute. With no power, no signal, no phones, and no connection to the outside world, it was nearly impossible to know what was really going on. Was it a local crisis? Regional? Global? Everything was uncertain.
Juan and his group weren’t exempt from the chaos—there were lies, hidden motives, and even fear of each other. What they go through is genuinely moving—the decisions they’re forced to make, and the consequences they must face.
That’s how the first few episodes unfold, immersed in escalating chaos. Then, despite the bleak and unpromising landscape, we see them adapt. They begin to move with purpose through the snow, exploring new areas. Until an even more ominous chaos reveals itself: the aliens. Oh no, I was done at that point! 😂 I would’ve already frozen solid with the snow, but when I saw those creatures and realized what Juan and his group were up against—I nearly fell over. It’s not just the drama of trying to find your family in the middle of an apocalyptic scenario… now you add an alien invasion to the mix. The war feels completely one-sided.
But I’ll let the rest be a surprise. The series has six episodes, each over 40 minutes long, and it leaves us with a truly unsettling ending. Now the question is: will they have to fight against themselves? Because the invasion has reached a much deeper, more terrifying level. No, no… it’s all just too much!
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, you have to watch it. This isn’t just another run-of-the-mill story—and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t usually get hooked on this kind of narrative. But I genuinely appreciate how the series brings this plot to life with characters who feel so close to reality.
And I can't overlook the fact that a Venezuelan girl shows up doing deliveries in Buenos Aires in the middle of an alien invasion scene. She represents the social engine of migration over the last decade.
If you think about it, throughout human history, there have been countless migrants who’ve found themselves caught in war zones, epidemics, and other tragic events that rarely get talked about—they’re often just counted as another casualty. So that inclusion felt powerful to me, and it absolutely shouldn’t go unnoticed.
In the end, El Eternauta is more than just a sci-fi series.

For this season finale the expectations were already quite high and the second season the truth was quite cut with respect to everything I wanted to comment even the games were slow to start if not it was not until the third episode that we are seeing some action, this third season if not expected basically starts right where we left the second season which is pretty good has much fewer episodes which at certain times there are people who will not have a proper development but they will have an end that goes according to what you can expect with this type of series, With this I mean that it is not expected a fully happy ending because it will not be like this is not a series that at first we were sold this way but perhaps the end can be divisive for many people and not get to like everyone in my case I think it is quite correct I agree with what is happening and besides that has a detail at the end that somehow shows that this is the closure of the two Korean squid but at the same time are expanding to a more U.S. version.
What can I say the performances are extremely solid the truth is that they have been fulfilling since the first season with all the actors who put scene in this case we will empathize more with some of the actors because they come from the second season now with a third and we end up with quite a few I think the development they give the players 120 is impressive is one of those inclusions necessary audiovisual level and you can get to applaud for all the magnificent development that has this character, I think it is one of the most painful deaths within the series and that many people the truth is not going to finish accepting because it is that character that you feel that you deserved, and meanwhile and other people like 333 that you hope that in a certain way you are going to get redemption but at no time does not get to do in fact the more you get to the end of the series worse person becomes only to get money.
What I can say is that the end can suddenly be a bit rushed because maybe the series needed one more episode to develop certain predetermined points or certain points in particular, And if there are moments in the plot that are completely wasted especially since the second season we see this cop investigating everything on the island for months and literally a colleague of his managed to find out in less than two days which makes this character look quite ridiculous and that does not really end up rescuing anyone because it comes when everything is already over, and literally if you want to arrest anyone only manage to put in some way in evidence that this exists that is the squid game exists but is unimportant because there is nothing to reveal it as in the public opinion within this universe what does become quite good is to visualize the final scene where a fairly recognized Hollywood actress who comes to be noticed that now I think that this expands the universe but it also runs the risk of being redundant, we are only waiting to see what themes or how they will touch this next series because the director has already said that this is the end as such of what is the story of the squid game at least in Korea of the original version.

Running Time: 46 minutes
In its final two seasons, Homicide: Life on the Street often struggled to recapture the gritty realism and emotional depth that defined its earlier years. Yet, even in its waning phases, the series occasionally produced episodes that transcended its declining momentum, either by revisiting its roots or boldly straying into uncharted territory. Finnegan’s Wake, the Season 6 episode, belongs to the latter category. It ventures far beyond the show’s own origins, delving into Baltimore’s shadowy past to explore themes of unresolved guilt, generational legacy, and the moral complexities of policing. By intertwining a decades-old cold case with the present-day trauma of its protagonist, the episode not only revitalises the series but also underscores its enduring relevance as a meditation on justice and human fallibility.
The episode opens with recounting of the unsolved rape and murder of 11-year-old Adena Watson, first introduced in the pilot, Gone for Goode. This cold case has haunted Detective Tim Bayliss (Kyle Secor) for years, a wound that refuses to heal. The cold open—a fragmented, dreamlike sequence—depicts Bayliss reliving the crime through disjointed flashes of Adena’s death. This visual and emotional overture establishes the central tension: the inability of the past to stay buried. Yet Finnegan’s Wake pushes this further by introducing a second, even older unresolved mystery, one that predates Bayliss’s tenure by decades.
Bayliss’s new investigation begins when an elderly man, William Devlin (Bronson Dudley), arrives at the Homicide Unit claiming his late father, John Devlin, murdered 12-year-old Clara Slone in 1932. The case, a notorious entry in Baltimore’s criminal annals, had been shelved for 66 years, its files missing and its witnesses long dead. Bayliss’s colleagues, aware of his vulnerability due to Adena’s case, had intentionally withheld information about Clara Slone. However, after consulting with Lt. Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) and Assistant State’s Attorney Danvers (Željko Ivanek), the unit decides to reopen the case. The decision underscores the series’ recurring theme of institutional memory and the weight of history on its characters. For Bayliss, the overlap between Adena’s case and Clara’s becomes a personal crucible, forcing him to confront his own complicity in unresolved trauma.
The investigation is handed to Detective Falsone (Jon Seda), a choice that proves contentious. Falsone navigates the logistical quagmire of a 1932 murder: missing evidence, senile witnesses, and a trail long obscured by time. The crux of the mystery lies in Detective Thomas Finnegan (Charles Durning), a retired officer who, in 1974, had taken the case files home shortly before retiring. Finnegan, now living in a rural retreat, emerges as a pivotal figure. His enthusiasm for the case clashes with his latent bigotry, revealed during a drunken monologue where he nostalgically recalls the “good old days” of policing. This duality—his dedication to justice juxtaposed with his toxic views—mirrors the show’s broader critique of law enforcement’s moral ambiguity. Finnegan’s eventual role in closing the case, by locating the murder weapon and corroborating forensic evidence, highlights how even flawed individuals can contribute to justice, albeit with uncomfortable compromises.
Written by David Mills, a veteran collaborator of David Simon (later of The Wire), the script balances ambition with the series’ signature grounded storytelling. Mills cleverly frames Finnegan as a predecessor to Bayliss, a “proto-Bayliss” whose relentless pursuit of closure prefigures the protagonist’s own obsessions. The parallel between the two eras—1932 and 1997—serves as a microcosm of societal change and continuity. The 1932 murder, rooted in a different era’s prejudices, is solved by 1990s methods, yet Finnegan’s bigotry (echoing the era’s racial and sex biases) reminds viewers that some issues persist. The episode’s exploration of generational shifts is particularly nuanced: Giardello, a veteran of the 1960s and 1970s, mediates between Finnegan’s outdated attitudes and the younger officers’ modern sensibilities, embodying a bridge between eras.
Director Steve Buscemi lends the episode a muted gravitas, balancing the weight of history with intimate character moments. However, the true standout is Charles Durning’s performance as Finnegan. Durning imbues the character with a gruff charm and vulnerability, rendering Finnegan neither a villain nor a hero but a man burdened by contradictions. His final scene—delivering the news of Clara’s case to her surviving sister—is a masterclass in restrained emotion, illustrating how even flawed individuals can achieve a measure of grace.
Despite its strengths, Finnegan’s Wake is not without flaws. The opening dream sequence, while thematically resonant, occasionally overindulges in poetic abstraction, distancing the audience from Bayliss’s emotional journey. The choice to centre Falsone as the lead investigator also risks alienating purists who prefer the show’s core ensemble. Falsone’s prominence here feels tonally inconsistent with earlier seasons, where Bayliss and Pembleton were the emotional anchors.
Ultimately, Finnegan’s Wake is a triumph of thematic ambition and character-driven storytelling. By intertwining past and present, it reaffirms Homicide’s prowess in exploring the intersections of justice, memory, and human frailty. While not flawless, the episode stands as a testament to what the series could achieve when it dared to look backward—and forward—with unflinching clarity. Its exploration of legacy, both personal and institutional, remains a poignant reminder that the past is never truly buried; it merely waits for someone to dig it up.
There are movies that when you decide to give them the opportunity to see them, you know what their intention is going to be from minute one. In this case we have a 0% believable action comedy but at the end of the day it achieves its goal: to entertain. It is the typical cliché film of explosions, shootings, chases, planes falling, villains who have the ability to know everything and in this case the two heads of two of the most important states/countries in the world in the middle of that chaos as if that made any sense at all. But let's see, I already said it, that was the most feasible thing to happen, so I wasn't caught off guard.
We have Will Derringer (John Cena) and Sam Clarke (Idris Elba), the first is the President of the United States and the second is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, colleagues in positions and responsibilities but deep down they are two men who do not get along at all, the public rivalry they have is very deep-rooted. It happens that Derringer before being president was a movie actor so Clarke does not take him seriously; Clarke never supported Will in his candidacy so the president is wary of him; it is a matter of egos. Everything changes when a common enemy sets in motion a plan to eliminate them after a failed bombing in Spain so now they must put their differences behind them and work together.
The film may be mistaken for an action thriller but I think the main genre is comedy. The way the relationship between these two men is played out, the interactions, the dialogue, the quips and the bad jokes that emerge from their discussions give us a clear sign that this is not an all action film. Obviously this is not a bad thing but it is one thing to keep in mind when watching it. John Cena is a really funny guy, I think comedy is innate in him and these roles where this element is part of the character's personality are the ones that best fit him and the ones that end up working the best. And well, of course this drags Idris Elba who is a little more reserved but in the end ends up falling into that grace.
Clearly the action is present with a lot of absurd but impressive things on screen. I feel that everything is very exaggerated and bombastic, a simple chase turns into something very big and ostentatious; shootouts and hits that end in some kind of acrobatics or very flashy moves; in the end the supreme goal of this is that you stay seated watching the almost 2 hours of movies, that you remain enraptured. The plot is something else that doesn't make much sense, there are several holes in there but I don't think it's meant to be an Oscar winning script either, it's a generic film to make you laugh and pass the time.
Apart from this pair of actors we have two others who stand out and give a little more life to the plot. Priyanka Chopra as an MI6 agent who is a kind of gear because she is where it all begins. She acts quite well, the action scenes she delivers with a lot of ease and fluidity. And also has a short but interesting appearance Jack Quaid who is another undercover agent but you do not expect anything and ends up surprising and solving a big problem. The cast isn't bad, out there comes Carla Gugino, Paddy Considine, etc. Great actors to try to sell a more run of the mill movie. I give it a 6.5/10. It's entertaining, sometimes you laugh, sometimes you watch the clock but in the end the pace doesn't drop. It's exactly what you imagine it to be, something very much like a parody. It's just under two hours long. I'll leave the trailer here and you can get it on Prime Video.

Well my people, that's all for today, I hope you liked it.
¡Hugs to all of you, see you next time!
Hello everyone, anime lovers, I hope you are all doing great today, dear The Anime Realm community, today I bring you my personal review of the anime: Hell’s Paradise… ever since I pressed play, I was completely hooked on the story of Gabimaru the Void, this is the plot, we meet a seemingly immortal ninja, condemned to death, but boom! He is given a chance to save himself if he finds the elixir of life… just with that idea, a murderer with a brutal past who has to go to a mysterious, almost hellish island called Nirvana, they already had me hooked! And think about it: a murderer super hardened by violence, and suddenly, bang!, a little light of humanity is turned on in him by a single person: his wife, Yui, that struggle he carries inside, which feels almost painful, you know, between his bastard past and that love that now moves him to survive and seek forgiveness... that's the heart of the series... the truth is, I connected a lot with Gabimaru, with his internal problems, while he faced very real dangers and also those in his own head... it's that, to be honest, it's not very common to find an anime with so much action that delves into exploring themes like redemption or finding oneself, without taking away from how crude its world is.
Now, let's talk about the island: Nirvana. Look, if you imagine a paradise with palm trees and a beach, forget it! Nirvana is anything but, it's a super strange, extremely dangerous place, where every step can cost you your life; like the dark and twisted version of what a paradise should be... the island is full of half-human creatures, ancient gods and mysteries that are revealed little by little, it reminded me a lot of that disturbing vibe of the Dark Continent of Hunter x Hunter... every twist has you on the edge of your seat, one moment you're like 'wow, what a strange beauty!' and the next 'oh my god, who's next?!'.. that constant tension really hooks you in.
And we have to talk about Sagiri, the executor who accompanies Gabimaru... at first you see her super serious, all professional, but as the story progresses, boom!, you start to see other sides of her, more vulnerable but also super strong, and she becomes an amazing character... how she evolves is one of the best things about the anime, watching her grow, taking risks not only against the bad guys but against the prejudices placed on her for being a woman... it inspires you, really. The chemistry she has with Gabimaru is great; the two of them grow a lot because of the way they relate to each other. I was surprised by how Sagiri made me think with that quiet strength she has and all her internal struggles.
Another thing I liked about Hell's Paradise is that it's not your typical shonen for kids, you know? This anime is clearly aimed at teenagers and adults: it’s raw, violent, and doesn’t hold back when it comes to showing some serious scenes… the blood, the breathless action, and the more mature story put it in another league… I felt like the series respects you as a viewer, touching on dark themes without forcing in filler or jokes, after the first few chapters, which are more to introduce you to everything, because from the following ones things really heat up and don’t stop… each character feels real, with their own issues and fights.
Nothing feels random, like everything happens for a reason, it’s like they’re constantly reminding you that on this island, anyone can die—no one is safe—and that, phew!, makes it so much more exciting… and the production, my respects! MAPPA did a very good job with the animation… well, yes, there are times when it drops a little, but overall, the action scenes are great. How they managed to capture that semi-murky, yet colorful Nirvana atmosphere is brutal, each fight has incredible energy and the choreography is so well done that you almost feel like you're there in the middle of the mayhem... oh, I can't help but talk about the opening: "Millennium Parade" I've been stuck on that song ever since I heard it! It's not just the opening song, it's an entire experience that perfectly prepares you for what's to come... the ending is also very good, I like it a lot, as does the opening.
Something that threw me off, but in a good way, is how direct the story is... you know how shonen are sometimes, with those training sessions that last a thousand years and half-forced jokes... well, Hell's Paradise is nothing like that, it gets to the point, straight to what matters, they don't beat around the bush, seriously... each scene has its reason for being... the story goes straight, but they tell you about the characters' pasts and why they do what they do, and they do it super well, without it feeling rushed or slow, that way of telling it, like that, without so much going around in circles, made me get even more involved... I was thinking about the characters' moral problems, asking myself 'what would I do there?'. Because, it's rare to find an anime that balances action with real character development... then, you see the characters trying to survive, because the threat of death is there all the time, you always have that feeling of danger, that any character, no matter how attached you are, could be the next to fall... that uncertainty keeps you glued to the screen, every fight, every twist the story takes, entertains you, and you're there thinking 'how much longer are these guys going to hold out?'.
It's that drama where everything is at stake that makes the anime feel so alive, so unpredictable and, honestly, super addictive... and yes, I confess: there were times when the anime surprised me. I came in with the idea of 'ah, the typical shonen', and it changed the whole game for me, that mix of drama that hits home, raw action and characters that intrigue you with how they change... it's something unique that kept me entertained and connected the whole time... I laughed at some of the crazy things, I was shocked by the brutality of other parts and yes, it even touched my heart in the most emotional moments, that roller coaster of feeling everything is what makes this series stay with you.
Speaking of the characters, Gabimaru is a ninja who is full of contradictions, think about it: a boy who was raised to be a killing machine, without feeling anything, but his journey forces him to encounter his human side, and all because of the love he has for his wife, that fight he has inside, between who he was and his desire to redeem himself... that makes him super interesting, it's not just 'let's see who survives', it's like finding a little light in the middle of all the darkness. Well, it's not that it's perfect, obviously, like everything, it has its things, there are times where the animation goes down a little, and some scenes feel a bit fast or they put scissors compared to the manga... also, from chapter 8 or 9 everything starts to change course, so it feels like it was pulled out of a sleeve, like it didn't turn out to be what was promised, but something else, it's a strange feeling...
The cool thing about Hell's Paradise - the well-told story, the characters that have depth, the fights that are wow! - weighs much more and makes you not notice the other things as much... so, if you're looking for an anime that combines hard action with a story that moves you inside, this is a good option, it's a series that makes you think, challenges you a little, and believe me, it will stay with you... whether you're interested in the dark and mysterious world of Nirvana, Gabimaru's fight to change, or the claw of Sagiri fighting against everything, this anime has something for you, so, I give it an 8.5 out of 10, well deserved... I give it that rating because the idea is really crazy and original, the characters have a lot of depth and the story catches you, it's not perfect, obviously!, but it's one of those rare series that make you think and at the same time excite you a lot... and well, that would be all for today, see you in other reviews, I'll leave the opening here, take care, bye!

At first, I mistook this movie for World War Z because of the “Z” in the title. I thought maybe either of them was a prequel or a sequel. But when I hopped in to watch Apocalypse Z, I found it to be a very different movie entirely, although it shares some similarities with others in its genre.
Again, I'm a very big fan of zombie movies. I love to see detailed explanations about the genesis of the virus and people’s reactions to it.
This movie started well, with a glimpse of life before the pandemic. Manel, the main character, lost his wife, and even after a year, the memories of her never left him. He was struggling to survive the trauma, living alone with his dear cat, Luculo. When the virus broke out, all hell was let loose. Initially, they thought it was going to be something like the COVID-19 pandemic where a simple quarantine would be all that was needed—but this situation was far beyond their expectations.
A real survival mode was switched on, and I love how the movie gave attention to small but important details—especially how people stormed malls to cart away food items because they had no idea how long the situation would last. You don't call that stealing, do you? No!
Manel tried to play the one-man hero by staying put, even after announcements were made instructing people to vacate and go to the refuge centers that had been provided. He was managing to survive until the infected gave him a serious run for his life.
He had some wild, crazy moments—especially a mad chase with his cat—and he managed to survive. Eventually, he stumbled upon a group of people surviving on a boat out at sea.
At this point, I knew it was going to be a battle, because from zombie movies I’ve watched, most times, the biggest threat to survival isn't the dead but the living. Just as we predicted, Manel didn’t last long before a fight broke out. One of the group members, Viktor, joined him to fight for justice, and that’s how they both ended up running for their lives again.
It continues like that, from one survival scene to another.
Opinions, Criticism, and Ratings
I must say, I really loved the behavior and reactions of the zombies in this movie. They were far more dangerous than the ones in shows like The Walking Dead. These ones were completely insane in the sense that the virus had infused a gene in them that made them run very fast.
They were also quite intelligent, able to climb fences just to continue their chase. The craziest scene of them all, in my opinion, was when they were pushing Manel on a bike. Mehn, their speed was almost equal to that of the bike! They could be killed too, and I liked that aspect.
The character development for all of them wasn’t bad at all. They all did excellently, and I must give a special mention to Luculo, the cat...very talkative.
Now to the storyline. This is where I think they got it wrong—there was no explanation of the cause of the virus, and there was also no conclusion to the story. Oh yes, there are talks of having a sequel, but I honestly don’t think that’s going to happen. We’ve seen many movies like this that end in suspense and never return. World War Z, which I mentioned earlier, falls into this category. It sucks a lot to watch a movie without a defined ending.
With all this considered, I would rate it a 6/10. A sequel is surely going to make It 10/10 but for now, let it remain like that.😎
After watching study gruop and Weak Hero Class I think I got a taste for this kind of school and action genre dramas that are mostly about bullying, I don't know why since I don't like violence, but I think it has to do with the fact that I love to see how the "strong" are strong only as long as the "weak" want them to be. 🥰

**One High School Heroes,**An action school drama that tells the story of an exemplary student who once devoted all his attention to his studies, but finds himself caught up in domestic violence and bullying, forcing him to make a transformative decision.
To be honest I couldn't help but buy it with Weak Hero Class so at first it wasn't convincing me, but it didn't seem fair to do that, so I gave it a chance without making comparisons and I actually liked it quite a lot, it's similar to Weak Hero Class in terms of the school bullying theme, but at the same time it is different because in this story the main character Kim Eui Gyum(Lee Jung Ha) not only suffers abuse at school but also at home because he has a father who pressures him too much to have the best grades, besides this he has a trauma due to the suicide of his older brother who lived the same abuse as him.
The story begins when Kim Eui Gyum (Lee Jung Ha) is transferred to a new school, he unintentionally draws the attention of the bullies and the bullying begins, but also begins a friendship with Kang Yoon Gi (Kim Do Wan) who sees that he is being bullied and tries to help him as he reminds his friend who is in a coma due to bullying, seeing the fighting skills that this boy is developing little by little he decides to convert him to fight together against bullies from different schools and that's how they become the heroes of the school or something like that. 😆
Something different in this character is that he is not only full of anger but he found in the fights the way to let off steam since he does not have the courage to confront his father, unlike characters like Yeon Shi Eun (Weak Hero Class) and Yoon Ga Min (Study gruop) who avoided fighting and only did it to defend themselves or their friends, Kim Eui Gyum was already doing it because he liked fighting, he thought it was fun and he was taking out his anger and frustration on others, of course with the excuse that they were bad guys, but obviously his attitude was not positive at all.
Some characters that I found interesting were Kim Seung Joon (Lim Sung Kyun) and Lee Geol Jae (Yuk Jun Seo) I could define them as repentant bullies 🤭 who came out of the dark side and are now good guys who somehow try to influence Kim Eui Gyum in a positive way so that he doesn't go down the path of violence. This first season doesn't go much deeper into their characters but I hope that in the second season we will be allowed to know their stories more in depth.
After watching 3 dramas on the subject of bullying there is something that is very clear to me, people who physically abuse others are always victims of abuse too, most often by their parents and take it out on others because they do not have the courage to confront their aggressors, they are people who are broken inside and just making others miserable feels good, of course it is not justified and they deserve to pay for their bad acts, but what I want to emphasize is that behind a bully there is another even stronger bully.
My rating for this drama 8/10 because in some parts I found it a bit slow, but I still liked it a lot and I hope I can watch the second season.

Synopsis
A little girl dances to Swan Lake. An ordinary girl? No, the daughter of someone rich and powerful enough to pay a handsome ransom of 5 million.
So a group of mercenaries is selected to kidnap the child.
But once they arrive at the hideout, a mansion as old as it is strange, the story takes a completely different turn when the mercenaries are trapped inside.
Distribution
A fine line-up of familiar faces in this surprising, "behind closed doors" thriller. And Angus Cloud's final role too.
My opinion
I went into this film without any preconceptions, it was supposed to be an action film about a kidnapping, but I hadn't seen any trailers.
I really hesitate to tell you about the heart of the film, but all the ‘trailers’ talk about it, so it's not really spoliating to reveal that I was very pleasantly surprised when in the end this film is in the same genre as ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ for those who knew it.
So, if you're a sensitive soul, don't watch it, or get into the arms of your better half to take the brunt of it, because once the action starts, there's no stopping it and it's violent and gory.
I liked Kevin Durand, whom I got to know in Stargate, in his role as Lord Zipacna. Matthew Goode and Giancarlo Esposito, on the other hand, each have a shorter role than usual, but they're important nonetheless...
In short, a fine distribution for a film of this genre, and the effects are rather successful. One effect in particular is a tad cartoonish, looking like something out of Diablo and his demon hunter, but I'll say no more.
Ah well, I've managed to describe the film without spoiling the main plot, so watch it and let me know what you think 😇. As for me, I had a great time ...

Synopsis
Hello all the anime and manga fans! I hope you are all doing just fine and having a great time everyday. Now, I am here again to review another manga series and today it is a new and exciting one. Summer Time Rendering is the name of the series, a fantastic science fiction, thriller and supernatural mystery genre manga and anime of Japanese origin. The story is about a place where there is mystery, supernatural activities and time has its structure tightly knitted together. It is derived out of the eponymous manga written and illustrated by mangaka Yasuki Tanaka. It is my pleasure to tell you about my experiences, opinions and interest in this series. and that you may be as much interested in this mysterious adventure as I am.
Summer is holiday, warm weather, beach air and youthful delight. This color of summer is also spread in the morning sunshine of the little island of Hitogashima, in the sound of the sea at dusk and in the garlands at night. It almost seems there is nothing wrong here when one looks around. Nevertheless, this same summer, a horror of mystery starts, which transforms everything on the island.

The novel starts with a young man Shinpei Azushi. He goes back to the Island of Hitogashima after quite some years in Tokyo, the news of the untimely death of his childhood friend Ushio Kofune reaching him. The whole world believes that Ushio died in the sea in a simple accident. Shinpei is not satisfied: he has questions. Her younger sister Mio says that the death might have not been an accident, but Ushio had some unusual injuries on his body.
Shinpei eventually and gradually notices weird things occurring on the island. Others are abnormal and their eyes and faces are unfamiliar coldness. After sometime, he is informed that a bad life referred to as Shadow has prevailed in the island. These shadows are able to stalk a person, mimic him and then murder him killing him off. They are sector by sector in the silent business of conquering the island population.
Even more events occur when Shinpei abruptly realizes that he can survive through moments in time when he dies; there is a kind of time loop he is engulfed in. He returns every time he dies and tries to transform the flow of events. Shinpei attempts everything in his power to prevent the shadows once and again using this power. Nevertheless, this battle is not simple. Although he gets back every time, time does not remain in the same spot, it keeps advancing gradually. But later on it dawns on him that the future of not just Ushio, but that of the whole of the island and even the whole mankind is at stake in this incident.

The summer atmosphere is not simply the background to the anime, but it is some sort of sign in it. Peace seems to be reflected in the sun, the blue sky, the noise of the sea, the atmosphere of the festival with its bustle and bustle. However, behind this calm, there lies the shade, death, and horror. It is summer and we get to sense the contrast in light and darkness even more. After some time, the battle involving Shinpei, Mio, and others turns into a time and life battle. A novel of tension that works well to manipulate relationships, sacrifice, recall, and future and which will stir you. This is an awful mystery anime depicted in the light of a summer day, which reminds the questions about death and ends in depths of life.
Summer Time Rendering – My Learnings, Experiences, and Opinions.
The most significant thing that I received after watching this anime is the influence of actions and time. In this movie, time does not serve as a backdrop, but rather, we see that time is a tool by which the lead character, Shinpei, keeps going back in time with the hope of making it in the future. It makes me understand that our simple actions may lead to significant outcomes in the future.
Shinpei returns because of hearing the news about the death of his childhood friend Ushio. However, he understands that this is an unnatural death; there are weird things going on in the island. Then there starts the unveiling of unknown something named "Shadow", who impersonates the fake man and kills the real one. This theme of the Shadow is louder and loud, fearful, disoriented and the clash between the reality and the unreality.
Every episode was a cliff hanger and that made me want to keep watching. In spite of the fact that the time loop part of the story arrangement is near a bit to Steins;Gate or Re:Zero, it possessed its dissimilarities. Summer mood of the island, the light at the sunset time, the smoothness of nature, on the one hand, leaves peace, and on the other hand, this raises the feeling of a mystery and fatal threat.
As an individual, I believe that Summer Time Rendering is an ideal mystery-thriller. It has very good screenplay, music and character development. There are living breathing characters such as Shinpei, Ushio, Mio and Hein.
A moving experience of friendship, sacrifice, the desire to live, and an evolving attitude concerning the time is not the only thrill built into this series. Summer Time Rendering is one of the anime worth watching especially by those who enjoy complicated stories that are time-based and would want to engage in deep thinking.
