No voy a negar que extrañe mucho a Ahn Su Ho en esta segunda temporada porque ame ese personaje, pero no me costo nada encariñarme con los nuevos amigos de Shi Eun así que quiero hablar un poco sobre ellos.
I'm not going to deny that I missed Ahn Su Ho a lot in this second season because I loved that character, but it didn't cost me anything to get attached to Shi Eun's new friends so I want to talk a little bit about them.
Park Hoo Min(Ryeo Un), este chico es el protector de la preparatoria, gracias a él Eunjang es la única que no pertenece a la "alianza," me gusta mucho este personaje porqué es el mejor peleando, pero no le gusta la violencia, además es muy cómico, yo diría que es medio tonto 😆 y muy alegre, pero en el fondo es un chico con un pasado bastante triste y lleno de culpa, el es el claro ejemplo de como las personas que se muestran más alegres a veces son las más tristes, Ryeo Un como siempre hizo un trabajo impecable 😍 cada personaje que lo he visto interpretar me ha dejado enamorada y es que repito él tiene la habilidad de transmitir cualquier sentimiento.
Park Hoo Min(Ryeo Un), this guy is the protector of the high school, thanks to him Eunjang is the only one who doesn't belong to the "alliance", I like this character because he is the best at fighting, but he doesn't like violence, he is also very funny, I would say he is a bit silly 😆 and very cheerful, but deep down he is a guy with a very sad past and full of guilt, he is the clear example of how the people who are more cheerful sometimes are the saddest, Ryeo Un as always did an impeccable job 😍 every character I've seen him playing has left me in love and I repeat he has the ability to transmit any feeling.
Seo Joon Tae(Choi Min Young), cuando ví este chico con lentes tuve miedo, no pude evitar pensar en si en esta temporada también tendriamos un amigo traidor 🤭 pero afortunadamente no fue el caso, este personaje es débil físicamente, pero es muy inteligente emocionalmente además de ser muy valiente y leal, es de esos personajes tan tranquilos y apacibles que te provoca adoptarlo 🥰 literalmente este niño no mataría ni una mosca.
Seo Joon Tae(Choi Min Young), when I saw this boy with glasses I was scared, I couldn't help but think that this season we will also have a traitor friend 🤭 but fortunately it was not the case, this character is physically weak, but he is very intelligent emotionally as well as being very brave and loyal, he is one of those characters so calm and peaceful that it makes you adopt him 🥰 literally this boy wouldn't even kill a fly.
Go Hyun Tak(Lee Min Jae), parece testarudo y un poco rudo, medio intransigente, pero en realidad tiene un gran corazón y le gusta proteger a los débiles me hizo recordar un poco a Ahn Su Ho, siento que en ese aspecto son parecidos.🥰

Me gustó mucho esta segunda temporada, tan emotiva y nostálgica como esperaba que fuese, en vista de como termino la primera temporada con Ahn Su Ho en coma y un Shi Eun más deprimido que nunca, pero me gustó mucho que se diera la oportunidad de tener amigos nuevamente a fin de cuentas eso era lo que Su Ho le había enseñado, la importancia de tener amigos en quién confiar, las escenas de acción igual de crudas que en la primera temporada 😆 otra vez agradezco que sean solo 8 capitulos, no soporto tanta violencia. 🤭
I really liked this second season, as emotional and nostalgic as I expected it to be, in view of how the first season ended with Ahn Su Ho in a coma and Shi Eun more depressed than ever, but I really liked that he was given the opportunity to have friends again, after all that was what Su Ho had taught him, the importance of having friends to trust, the action scenes were just as raw as in the first season 😆 again I'm grateful that they are only 8 episodes, I can't stand so much violence. 🤭
El final de esta segunda temporada nos da a entender que habrá una tercera y eso me emociona mucho 🥰 la verdad me gustaban más los dramas de una sola temporada, pero también me están gustando estos de varias temporadas, se me hacen muy emocionantes, voy dejar la reseña hasta aquí porque tengo miedo de hacerles spoiler, quiero que al verla sientan la misma emoción que sentí yo 🥰 sobre todo con las últimas escenas que están hermosas.🥹

Occasionally, I really can enjoy a good horror movie and Talk To Me out of 20 movies was the one I enjoyed the most in 2023. That was made by the Philippou brothers as their debut who originally are Youtubers which I really felt in a positive in a similar way of how Eight Grade was also made by a youtuber. So I avoided all spoilers for this one going in nearly completely blind aside of heaving read that it's disturbing and something about a Foster monther while it gets a solid 7.6/10 on so far only 7.8k votes. So my expectations were pretty high mainly hoping for a plotline that again surprised me by it's originality while at the same time having slight anxiety for some of the potential disturbing scenes. I did go watch the late-night viewing in the cinema.
So Basically the movie starts with a video recording of an old ritual scene where someone gets killed and is about a brother and a sister who lose their father and are put in foster care with a women who also has 1 other strange foster child. Soon it becomes clear that more is going on and the movie similar to Talk To Me has some disturbing scenes of which one I kind of had to put some fingers in front of my eyes.
Movie Plot (Spoiler Free):
A brother and sister uncover a terrifying ritual at the secluded home of their new foster mother.
So there are a lot of good things I can say about this movie in that it again was filmed in a way that is quite impressive especially some of the gory scenes. These brothers really have a talent for that as they also pulled this off really well in Talk To Me. The acting and casting also was excellent and I did never get bored while watching this one. However, the storyline didn't really blow me away or anything as it all was pretty clear from early on what actually was going on as the title along with some early hints. This really made me miss some kind of twist making everything more just about some of the disturbing scenes and less about the actual story.
The short summary of this story is that there is some kind of vaguely explained ritual to transfer a soul from a dead person in the first 2 months after they died to someone else and the foster women who lost her daughter who drowned and the foster mother wants to do exactly this with some of the children she has under her care.
I mainly felt like there was information missing in the story with too many questions left and things put in there that were just cool like the circle around the house and many other things about the ritual. I would say this one is extremely disturbing mainly for women who also have children.
Movie Themes
There are different themes in this movies with motherhood and grief in a way that was done ok but personally didn't really hit for me. However, I can see how for some people these themes hit way harder so this is a personal thing.

Conclusion
This was my most highly anticipated horror movie of the year and while it did like how the movie technically is made from every aspect (casting, filming, visuals, music,...), the story kind of was a bit of a miss for me not matching up to Talk To Me. Ultimately I see this movie as a combination of the idea of the exorsist and Speak No Evil. I rate this one a 7.0/10 mainly because the many good aspects about this film which makes me a bit forgiving for what was a rather dissapointing story.

The film begins with a view of the globe from space, showing us how the polar ice caps are melting completely, causing the entire planet to be covered in water. In the distant future, the Earth is an aquatic world and the surviving humans live in boats and small floating cities. All the water is salt water, which makes fresh water the most valuable commodity in this dystopian world. We meet a lonely man who travels in a somewhat strange vessel (a trimaran). He makes a living doing business with other merchant sailors across this endless ocean. However, one day he finds something very valuable under the ocean. But at the same time, a merchant approaches his boat and steals the lemons from a small tree he has outside. When he climbs aboard, he runs into him and tells him that there is an atoll ahead where he can do business. The protagonist, who is called "the Sailor" throughout the film, goes to exchange some merchandise he has for supplies on the atoll, but luck is not on his side this time.

I barely remember watching this movie every now and then on a TV channel that only aired movies from the 90s, 80s, and other decades when I was a kid. Today, after giving it one last chance just for nostalgia's sake—and also because I consider it a good choice to start talking about dystopian movies in this great science fiction special—I have to admit that I may have exaggerated a little with what I remember well about this work. I don't mean that in a bad way, or well, not entirely, since I'm not a big fan of Kevin Costner's acting, nor do I particularly like the strange mix they made in this film (it's as if Mad Max and Jaws had merged to make a hybrid dystopian film about the ocean). While the visual and technical aspects are very detailed, there are other points that work in its favor. But what I liked the least were the characters, without a doubt. But anyway, I'll talk more about all this later.
Let's start with the story, which is arguably the most striking aspect of the entire film. It's no surprise that films depicting different ways in which the world would end were very popular at the time (take Armageddon, for example). That's why the idea of a future where the earth would be completely flooded by the melting of the polar ice caps was not as far-fetched as what others presented on the big screen. Returning to the film, Waterworld may be a project with great potential behind it (potential that I believe was wasted due to the problems they had in its production). Especially since it is a dystopian world where the few human survivors struggle daily to survive and power falls into the hands of evil and dangerous people. But what makes it an appealing story at first glance is the promise they tell us from the beginning about "Dry Land".

Apenas y recuerdo cuando veía esta película muy de vez en cuando en un canal de televisión donde solo se transmitían películas de los 90s, 80s y de otras décadas atrás cuando era un niño. Al día de hoy, luego de darle una última oportunidad nomás por la nostalgia -también porque la considero una buena opción para empezar a hablar de películas distópicas en este gran especial de ciencia ficción-, debo considerar que tal vez exageré un poco con lo que recuerdo bien de esta obra. No lo digo a mal, o bueno, no del todo ya que ni soy muy fan del trabajo actoral de Kevin Costner ni me agrada mucho la mezcla extraña que hicieron en esta película (es como si Mad Max y Tiburón se hubieran fusionado para hacer un híbrido de película distópica sobre el océano). Si bien la parte visual y técnica tiene muchos detalles, hay otros puntos que juegan a su favor. Pero lo que menos me ha gustado son los personajes, sin lugar a dudas. Pero bueno, de todo esto es lo que les estaré hablando más adelante.
Empecemos primero con su historia, la cual se puede decir que es lo más llamativo de toda la película. No es una novedad que en aquel entonces eran muy populares las cintas que mostraban distintas formas en las que el mundo se acabaría por completo (tenemos casos como Armageddon, por ejemplo). Es por eso que la idea de un futuro donde la tierra quedaría completamente inundada por el derretimiento de los casquetes polares era algo que no parecía tan descabellado como lo que otros presentaron en la pantalla grande. Volviendo a la película, Waterworld puede que sea una propuesta con un gran potencial detrás de sí (potencial que considero desaprovecharon debido a los problemas que tuvieron en la producción de la misma). Sobre todo al ser un mundo distópico donde los pocos sobrevivientes humanos luchan diariamente para sobrevivir y el poder recae sobre gente malvada y peligrosa. Pero lo que lo hace una historia atractiva a primera instancia es la promesa que nos cuentan desde el principio sobre “Tierra Firme”.
What we see at the beginning of the film is a strange sailor who wanders the ocean in his trimaran, doing business and collecting strange objects and materials. In reality, our quiet and distrustful protagonist is nothing less than a mutant, a human species that has evolved to the point of being able to breathe under the sea. While he is captured and locked up by the people of this stinking place, a group of "Smokys" approaches the atoll fully armed with the aim of destroying everything in search of a girl with a tattoo on her back that is supposedly the map to find the Dry Land. However, the girl and her mother escape with the help of the Sailor.
This is where I give you my honest opinion about all this. A movie like this is somewhat questionable for different reasons. From the beginning, we meet a sailor whose name we don't know, let alone where he comes from. Knowing that he is a mutant who can breathe under the ocean, it's normal for us to ask more questions throughout the movie, questions that we don't get answers to in the end. On the other hand, we also have a woman and a girl with a tattoo on their backs. They appear just after we hear some people talking about marks that could be a map leading them to "Dry Land", the most sought-after and desired place in this aquatic world. It's normal that from then on, the film focuses mainly on showing us one long chase after another of a group of dangerous bandits led by a crazy bald man with an eye patch and dictator vibes who is after this girl. The fact that both women are traveling with the Sailor is the reason they are still alive. That and the fact that the sailor is the protagonist and hero of this story, of course.

En sí, lo que vemos al principio de la película es a un extraño marinero que vaga por el mundo oceánico en su trimarán haciendo negocios y coleccionando objetos y materiales extraños. Al llegar a un atolón, vemos de inmediato cómo es esta sociedad caótica, pobre, desconfiable y peligrosa. Es como ver lo más deplorable y desagradable de la humanidad misma siendo reunida en estos lugares flotantes sobre el infinito océano. Es aquí donde les doy mi más sincera opinión acerca de todo esto. Una película como esta es un tanto cuestionable por diferentes motivos. Desde el principio conocemos a un marinero que ni sabemos cómo se llama ni menos de dónde proviene. Al saber que es un mutante que puede respirar bajo el océano es normal que nos hagamos más preguntas a lo largo de la película, preguntas que al final no obtenemos respuesta. Por otro lado tenemos también a una mujer y una niña con un tatuaje en la espalda. Su aparición es justo después de escuchar a algunos hablar sobre unas marcas que pueden ser un mapa que los puede llevar a “Tierra Firme”, el lugar más buscado y deseado de este mundo acuático. Es normal que a partir de ahí en adelante la película se dedique mayormente a mostrarnos una larga persecución tras otra de un grupo de bandidos peligrosos liderados por un calvo loco con parche y vibras de dictador detrás de esta niña. El hecho de que ambas mujeres viajen con el Marinero es la razón de que sigan con vida. Eso y que el marinero es el protagonista y héroe de esta historia, claro.
This is where I expand a little more on the subject of the characters themselves. The Sailor (played by Kevin Costner) is practically the typical protagonist who plays the role of the hero. Honestly, if I had a dollar for every time I came across an action-adventure movie like this with a protagonist who ends up being the hero, I'd have more than I could ever hope for, to be honest. This is one of the most common and exploited clichés in this genre. And the fact that we only see his heroic side is enough to reveal the character's many negative aspects. Starting with his lack of development, his unpleasant attitude in practically half of the movie, and his origin and history, which go unnoticed with nothing to tell about them. On the other hand, we also have the case of Helen and Enola, one being the adoptive mother of the other. While Helen is the typical woman and mother who would do anything to protect her daughter (even giving herself up as an object, which shows how low this dystopian society has fallen), Enola is the typical weird girl who spends all her time drawing and talking non-stop, always trying to annoy the sailor who saved their lives.
Here we see how they try to develop a kind of relationship between these three characters who have been forced to be together after a series of unfortunate events. Honestly, I think the end result may be less impressive than anyone would expect. Some moments seem a bit forced and out of place, while the changes in behavior and relationships are somewhat abrupt from one moment to the next. But hey, these are minor details that can be overlooked when you consider the amount of action and chase scenes there are between each time interval in this movie. What cannot be ignored is the classic villain of this film, the Deacon. A kind of dictator who seeks to conquer all the aquatic cities of the world while finding the map that will lead them to "Dry Land". He's not one of the best villains I've ever seen, but he has some details that are very striking, as I'll tell you below.
With false promises and "miraculous dreams" that he claims to have, he convinces a huge crowd to work for him in exchange for scraps and boxes of cigarettes (what a reference to government we have here, right?). The Deacon is the perfect villain who only fulfills his character stereotype and tries to cause fear, while a girl insults him and drives him crazy with her chatter (like everyone else, including me). But anyway, beyond all this, there's not much to say about this antagonist, really. He's like all the characters we see in this movie, who can only attract attention because they are part of an exaggerated interpretation and performance with little development behind them. Although for a story where the world is submerged in the sea and the few human survivors wander on rafts, boats, and floating cities with few resources, it's perfect for experiencing madness and insanity in person. That's why all of this may be valid with a premise like this.

Es aquí donde me explayo un poco más con el tema de los personajes en sí. El Marinero (interpretado por Kevin Costner) es prácticamente el típico protagonista que hace el papel de héroe. De verdad, si me dieran una moneda cada vez que me topo con una película de acción y aventura como esta con un protagonista que termina siendo el héroe tendría más de lo que esperaría, la verdad. Este es uno de los principales clichés más comunes y explotados en este género. Y el hecho de que solo nos muestran su lado heroico nomás es cuestión suficiente como para ver sus muchos lados negativos al personaje. Empezando por su poco desarrollo que le dan, su desagradable actitud en prácticamente la mitad de la película y su origen e historia que pasan desapercibidos sin nada que contar al respecto. Por otro lado, tenemos también el caso de Helen y Enola, siendo una la madre adoptiva de la otra. Mientras Helen es la típica mujer y madre que haría lo que fuera por proteger a su hija (hasta entregarse a sí misma como objeto, lo cual demuestra lo bajo que ha caído esta sociedad distópica); Enola es la típica niña rara que se la pasa dibujando todo el tiempo y hablando sin parar buscando molestar siempre al marinero que les salvó la vida.
Aquí vemos cómo intentan desarrollar una especie de relación entre estos tres personajes que han sido forzados a estar juntos luego de una serie de eventos desafortunados. Sinceramente, opino que lo que resultó al final de esto puede que sea menos impresionante de lo que cualquiera esperaría. Algunos momentos se ven un tanto forzados y fuera de lugar, mientras que los cambios de conductas y de relación son un tanto abruptos de un momento a otro. Pero bueno, son detalles menores que se pueden pasar por alto al tener en cuenta la cantidad de escenas de acción y persecución que hay entre cada intervalo de tiempo en esta película. Lo que no se puede ignorar es al villano clásico de esta película, el Diácono. Una especie de dictador que busca conquistar todas las ciudades acuáticas del mundo mientras encuentra el mapa que los llevará a “Tierra Firme”. No es de los mejores villanos que he conocido, pero tiene sus detalles que llaman mucho la atención como los que les diré a continuación.
Con promesas falsas y “sueños milagrosos” que dice tener, convence a una enorme muchedumbre a que trabajen para él a cambio de sobras y cajas de cigarrillos (vaya referencia de gobierno tenemos aquí, vale). El Diácono es el perfecto villano que solo cumple con su estereotipo de personaje e intenta causar miedo, a su vez que una niña lo insulta y lo saca de quicio con su palabrería (como a todo el mundo, incluyéndome también). Pero bueno, más allá de todo esto, no hay mucho que se pueda decir de este antagonista, la verdad. Es como todos los personajes que vemos en esta película, los cuales pueden llamar la atención solo por ser parte de una exagerada interpretación y actuación con poco desarrollo detrás. Aunque para una historia donde el mundo está sumido en el mar y los pocos sobrevivientes humanos vagan sobre balsas, botes y ciudades flotantes con pocos recursos es perfecto para conocer la locura y demencia en persona. Es por eso que puede que todo esto sea válido con una premisa como esta.
Last but not least, let's talk about the technical and visual aspects of this 1990s film. With a very high budget for its time, one of the things that has been most criticized and received the most attention is the production of this audiovisual work. The film is over two hours long, which is quite noticeable given its enormous number of action scenes, boat and ship chases, aquatic cities, and explosions. Por último, pero no menos importante, hablemos ahora del apartado técnico y visual de esta película de los 90s. Con un altísimo presupuesto para su época, una de las cosas que más se la ha criticado y más atención se ha prestado es en la producción de esta obra audiovisual. La duración de esta cinta, por cierto, es de más de dos horas, lo cual se puede notar bastante con su enorme cantidad de escenas de acción, persecuciones en botes y barcos, ciudades acuáticas y explosiones. Sin embargo, a pesar de lo mucho que les habrá costado hacerlo, el uso de efectos visuales prácticos, maquillajes, vestuarios, diseños de botes, barcos y demás es de lo más llamativo y lo que más ha envejecido de esta película. Como dije al principio, su estilo rústico y rudimentario mezclado con las secuencia de persecuciones con cámaras en movimiento y vistas aéreas en el mar abierto nos da una idea de una especie de Mad Max, pero en vez de ser autos modificados en un desierto, son botes y barcos en un infinito océano.
En cuanto a los efectos de sonido, pues la película misma ha obtenido una nominación de parte de los Óscars en su momento por esto, lo cual nos deja claro lo bien hechos que están. Y no es de extrañar ya que casi todo lo que vemos en la película ha sido grabado en el mar abierto y de la forma más práctica posible. Los efectos hechos por computadora son muy poco utilizados y casi ni se notan. La banda sonora, por otro lado, es una maravilla para los oídos. Y no es de extrañar ya que en esto estuvo a cargo del gran James Newton Howard, el mismo que estuvo detrás de decenas de películas de los 90s y los 2000s que ahora son grandes clásicos en la industria. La música de fondo que se escucha a lo largo de este largometraje genera una mezcla única de emoción y nostalgia sin igual que solo James consigue causar. Sin duda, esta es de las poquísimas cosas buenas que tiene esta película. Si eres muy fan de la acción, la aventura y los mundos distópicos entonces esta es tu oportunidad de conocer esta pequeña joya incomprendida del cine.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 7/10 en lo que respecta al género de la acción, la ciencia ficción y la aventura.

La historia gira en torno a Totsuko, una joven estudiante de secundaria que tiene la peculiaridad de ver el color de las auras de las personas, pero no el propio. Hay personas que le llaman la atención por lo bonito de sus colores, es así como conoce a Kimi, una ex compañera de clases que dejó la escuela, y a Rui, un chico al que le encanta la música. The story revolves around Totsuko, a young high school student who has the peculiarity of seeing the color of people's auras, but not her own. Esta película la encontré por casualidad navegando en Internet y me llamó la atención la premisa de que la protagonista pudiera ver el aura de las personas a colores, me imaginé que sería una producción muy bella y colorida, y no me equivoque. Es una película hermosa que vale la pena mirar. Aunque sí es un poco rara al principio, Totsuko y Kimi estudian en un colegio de monjas por lo que se hace mención a la religión, además está todo tan bien construido que emociona verlo a pesar de que el final no me convenció tanto por cómo se dieron las cosas, aunque sí fue un poco emotivo, pero no mucho. Sentí que le falto algo más.
I found this film by chance while surfing the Internet and I was struck by the premise that the protagonist could see the aura of people in color, I imagined that it would be a very beautiful and colorful production, and I was not wrong. Su fuerte es toda la gama de colores que se pueden apreciar a través de los ojos de la protagonista, creo que se eligieron muy bien los colores para cada personaje, y a pesar de que no vemos el de Totsuko hasta el final, era obvio que transmitía esa aura. Me encanto que emplearan esta psicología del color, Kimi es la que carga más tristeza de los 3 y su aura es un azul intenso, este color puede hacer referencia a la tristeza, pero también es un color que relaja y transmite calma y tranquilidad, así es el personaje. La de Rui es verde, y él es el optimista del grupo, siempre alegre y divertido, y la de Totsu la dejo que la descubran ustedes si se animan a ver la película.
Its strength is the whole range of colors that can be seen through the eyes of the protagonist, I think the colors were chosen very well for each character, and although we don't see Totsuko's until the end, it was obvious that it transmitted that aura. I loved that they used this color psychology, Kimi is the one who carries more sadness of the 3 and her aura is an intense blue, this color can refer to sadness, but it is also a color that relaxes and transmits calm and tranquility, so is the character. Como me gustan los musicales pude disfrutar mucho de esta parte de la película.
I loved how music came through and was the tool of expression these teens found to tell their sorrows to the world and heal in the process. The power of music is amazing, it never ceases to amaze me. Needless to say, the songs stuck with me, especially one. Since I like musicals I was able to really enjoy this part of the movie.
Para cerrar les voy a decir que es una producción que habla de la amistad, los sueños y pasiones, la complejidad del paso de la adolescencia a la adultez y de descubrirse a uno mismo. Está más que recomendada por mi parte.
In closing I will tell you that it is a production that talks about friendship, dreams and passions, the complexity of the passage from adolescence to adulthood and discovering oneself. It is more than recommended by me.

I'm not kidding. I really need everyone to go and see this movie repeatedly. Rest assured, I will be doing the same. I fear that if we don't, the movie company Lionsgate will not make a sequel. And they MUST make a sequel. I need. No WE ALL need to see a sequel!!!!
If you haven't figured it out by now, I freaking loved this movie. Is it as good as the first three John Wick movies? Well that would be nearly impossible. Was it as good as the fourth? Perhaps.
As a 53 year old American male, I feel uniquely qualified to speak about action movie series (and no I don't think being a 53 American male makes me an expert on everything... but some guys I know surely do). I mean I have been around action movies from the very beginning. Even the ones that came out in the 60s were on TV enough that I saw them all. But I was a teenager in the heyday of 80s action movies. I was in my 20s when they modernized them bit in the 90s and I have been hooked ever since. I've seen just about everything. Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood... saw them on TV. Bruce Lee movies... rented them and watched them on Beta. Terminator and Die Hard... saw them in the dollar theater. 1990 John Woo movies and the American ripoffs... saw them in the theater. Fast and the Furious... saw the first few in the theater and got bored. But John Wick. Oh my God! These movies are simply the G.O.A.T. of action movies. We all know I love The Raid: Redemption, the movie that inspired John Wick and every other movie since 2012 with awesome action sequences, but John Wick has taken it to another level. And the Ballerina has accepted the challenge to create stunning action sequences by saying "Hey John Wick, you kind of tried to act within the realm of disbelief. You kind of tried to obey the laws of physics. You kind of tried to show that people get injured during a fight. Fuck all that shit! I'm the Ballerina! Reality is for wimps!"
Dang it! I promised no spoilers. Now everyone knows that Ana de Armas is gorgeous. Sorry.
Not only do I love the action in John Wick, I am enthralled with the universe in which it lives. In John Wick's universe, anyone on a subway could be an assassin. That homeless guy the block... an assassin. The little old lady working at the shoe store... an assassin! The sushi chef... assassin! That gorgeous ballet dancer... you guessed it... assassin! Not only that, but the rest of the infrastructure of these world is just so freaking cool. The hotel where you pay for everything with mysterious gold coins, the sommelier for assault weapons of every type, and the telephone operators dressed in super sexy outfits connecting the switchboards and entering information into 8 bit computers... oh my god that are all so awesome! I would watch a movie or show about any of the jobs that help support the network of assassins. So it is no surprise that I loved Ballerina.
Ok enough John Wick fanboying. Let me say some spoiler -free things about Ballerina. First of all, in full disclosure, I think Ana de Armas is perhaps the most beautiful actress I have ever seen. She's simply stunning. If there were ever a woman who deserved to live in Banshee Pennsylvania, it is her. But if she couldn't act, I wouldn't like her. Want proof? I can't stand movies with Gal Gadot. Anyway back to Ana de Armas. Not only can she act, but she is able to pull off physical action scenes. Ever since she stole the movie as Paloma in the James Bond movie No Time to Die, I have been waiting for Hollywood that they were sitting on a goldmine. I couldn't wait for them to cast her in an action movie. Well it was worth the wait! Although she is no Keanu (after all, who else is?) she does a great job in the action sequences. And there are plenty of them.
I honestly do not think there was a wasted scene in the entire movie. They are either exploring something weird in the awesome Wick World or they are showing a ridiculously over-the-top action sequence. As a connoisseur of action movies, I thought I had seen it all. My god was I wrong! There were SOOOOOOO many more weapons one could use to kill a bad guy. There are so many more martial arts fights that I needed to see. There are so many ways to use snow and ice.
If you like the John Wick movies, you MUST see Ballerina. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Una de las cosas que más llamó mi atención de la película fue el personaje de Kenneth Marshall, líder de la expedición y con un parecido físico al actual presidente Donald Trump, una sátira de este importante y controversial líder político. La crítica social se hace evidente en Mickey 17, el director nos muestra lo malo que pude ser el ser humano, Mickey es sometido a todo tipo de vejaciones y trabajos horribles bajo la mirada de todos, quienes se hacen los ciegos a lo que ocurre y no les importa lo que pase con él, en mi opinión esto lo vemos a diario, los más pobres y vulnerables sufren y son pocos los que hacen algo para cambiar esto.
One of the things that most caught my attention in the film was the character of Kenneth Marshall, leader of the expedition and who bears a physical resemblance to current President Donald Trump, a satire of this important and controversial political leader. The social criticism is evident in Mickey 17, the director shows us how evil human beings can be. También se pone de manifiesto en esta sátira del futuro la pobreza, el maltrato animal y la indolencia de las autoridades que gobiernan, lo importante para ellos es lograr el objetivo que desean a costa del sufrimiento de los más pobres o desechables como Mickey. Fui a ver esta película sin expectativa alguna, pero resultó que tiene un tema interesante que me hizo reflexionar, está bien elaborada, pero debo confesar que me pareció un poco lenta y hubo veces que casi me duermo.
This satire of the future also highlights poverty, animal abuse, and the indifference of the governing authorities. What matters to them is achieving their desired goals at the expense of the suffering of the poorest or most expendable, like Mickey. I went to see this film with no expectations, but it turned out to have an interesting theme that made me reflect. It's well-crafted, but I must confess that I found it a bit slow, and at times I almost fell asleep.

So in my unattainable search to find on Netflix or any other movie or series platform, some entertainment that makes us have a good time, I must confess that I am now after seeing so many installments a little picky and I'm not to watch many series or movies with a lot of drama. So when I saw the cover of this series called "Sirens" its protagonist was the first thing that caught my attention, we have great personalities among them the super actress who is very well preserved at her age Julianne Moore who plays the character of "Michaela", we also see Meghann Fahy her character is called "Devon" and finally my favorite Milly Alcock who is called "Simone" wow what a great job she did, this girl is a promise in acting with only 25 years old and nothing more and nothing less than the super legend actor Kevin Bacon (Peter). This mini series I would classify as drama comedy and black humor, it premiered recently in May 2025 and has 5 episodes.
I didn't have much faith in this mini series because of the aura that its sypnosis gave me, I don't like to see trailers because I feel that they say a lot of things about the series and it takes away the curiosity and the charm a little of that emotion or intrigue when starting to watch a series or movie. So I decided to watch the series without expecting anything and without many expectations, it started a little strange, with things that actually bored me a little, I must say that it was slow for my taste, I liked the editing, the scenery is seen that it was invested in it and of course with the stature of actors who had I'm sure that a good amount of money was invested in the creation. I watched the first chapter in 2 parts, it really bored me. But I decided to give it a chance and the truth is that I was surprised, it is not to be underestimated, it was a matter of time that this series will give us something unexpected and those human behaviors that we will never understand but I am very real.
This is how 2 girls with a hard and dysfunctional childhood, a father with senile dementia who depends on a lot of assistance and care and a somewhat precarious life, there is a lot of lack of economic resources and this has been a very serious problem in all their lives, plus they have no mother figure and this has a hard past and that is why she has died. The series begins with Devon the older sister with a job as a waitress who has a list of toxic relationships around her, one weekend I decided to look for her sister who has gone to an island and needs help with his father.
After her trip she manages to get her in a mansion full of luxuries and many strange things according to her (Devon), Simone works for a woman named Michaela who they both feel a strong connection and there is a full trust between them, things that don't look good to Devon, I think more than doubts and fear about her sister being in an abusive place it was like some kind of jealousy, since it wasn't like that with her being her own sister. I think, for Devon, it was difficult for her to get her dream job and she will just stay at home taking care of her sick dad, that's where a series of events begins that without a doubt awakened my intrigue and my desire that without a doubt this series did have a different and interesting plot.

I feel that it started slow, with some unnecessary drama or dialogues, a strong fight and if perhaps it can be very shocking for people to see the end of everything and know that this is simply how people are, we like to be well and we decide based on our needs and priorities and sometimes there are people who take anyone with them in order to achieve or not lose where they got to.
It is a series a little satire, also raw with a wonderful natural scenery, recorded on an island with a mansion that leaves you perplexed, use pastel colors that makes you get caught in all that good visual taste, I recommend it and I'm sure you will like it.
It's been a long time since I last resonated with my inner child. The part of me that could watch a delightful animation for hours and feel very fulfilled at the end of the endeavor. This part of myself was sitting pretty at a corner till I got a very captivating review of an animation from a friend.
The friend didn't have a copy of the animation on his device and I, who vehemently refuses to download movies for whatever reason, opted to download it. That was how intriguing the friend's review was. Eventually I saw the animation and here's a piece of my mind concerning the animation “Vivo”.
About The Movie
Vivo is a heartwarming animated musical tale that follows the journey of a kinkajou(an animal that strikingly resembles a monkey) and his passion for music.
The story revolves around Vivo, the kinkajou, and his quest to deliver a song to Marta Sandova, his former owner's musical partner. Marta who was having one last show was all the way in Miami and Vivo was in Cebu, nonetheless, he embarked on the journey. Along the way, he meets Gabi, his former owner's grand-niece and together, they face various obstacles, including a snake, on their way to Miami.
This musical comedy adventure film was released on the 6th of August, 2021 and has a runtime of 1 hour 35 minutes. Directed by Kirk DeMicco, the animation boasts veteran voice over artists like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Zoe Saldoña, Juan de Marcos González and Brian Tyree Henry.
My Opinion
I didn't realize that I missed seeing animations till after Vivo. The plot of this animation was a heartwarming one. It was truly a satisfying watch with a few tweaks here and there.
The voice acting was top notch. It's always a wonder how voice actors tend to portray every action and every emotion through their voice. The voice acting in this animation was pretty good as it matched perfectly with the characters.
I cannot begin to explain how vibrant this animation was. It was right in the middle, not too blinding and not too dull, making it just right for photo-sensitive viewers. The scenes were all alluring to watch but one that really grabbed my attention was the part where a boat heading to Miami sailed through the waters in the night. The sight was really a beautiful one.
The themes of family, love and perseverance stood out. I like how well the animation portrayed the importance of settling our difference with others immediately these differences come up because that may as well be the last time we see them. This to me, is a very powerful theme.
I particularly liked the catchy music used throughout the animation. The duet between Vivo and Gabi was mind-blowing as they blended hip-hop and Latin music. Before now, I never would have imagined that the blend between these two genres would sound so… good.
However, amidst the excellence was a flaw–predictable plot. I could literally see the end of the animation from the beginning as these kinds of animations usually follow a certain pattern. This took away the element of surprise. If the animation didn't have so many beautiful sceneries, it would have probably been a boring one.
Also, the clichés were very astounding. The character Gabi was a little girl, less than seven. A free-spirited, nonconformist, energetic and rebellious young girl who often expressed herself through bold fashion like spraying her entire hair purple when she couldn't yet solve a quadratic equation. This felt unreal to me because not many parents would watch their child act that way and be quiet about it.

## Recommendation and Rating

Overall, this was a good watch for me. The animation was vibrant, the songs were pleasing to the ears and the characters sent our very powerful messages through their actions. I would give it a 7/10 rating. If you're up for a lighthearted animation, the Vivo would be a good choice.

By 1969, the show’s creative wellspring had been sapped by drastic budget cuts and the departure of key writers and producers, leaving behind a production team increasingly reliant on retreads of older ideas. This creative stagnation manifested in episodes that felt eerily familiar to longtime viewers, their plots echoing earlier, superior instalments with diminished vigour. Whom Gods Destroy, the season’s penultimate episode, epitomises this trend. While not an outright failure, its narrative and aesthetic choices repeatedly invoke the spectres of classics like The Enemy Within and Dagger of the Mind, offering little beyond a watered-down remix of themes already explored with greater nuance. What might have been a serviceable story is instead rendered inert by its inability to transcend its influences or compensate for the series’ mounting production woes.
The episode opens with the USS Enterprise on a routine mission to deliver a revolutionary regenerative drug to Elba II, a Federation asylum for the criminally insane. Accompanied by Spock, Captain Kirk beams down to meet Governor Donald Cory (Keye Luke), a weary administrator whose unsettlingly cordial welcome soon unravels. The twist arrives swiftly: Cory, bloodied and imprisoned in a patient’s cell, reveals his identity was usurped by Garth of Izar (Steve Ihnat), a once-legendary Starfleet commander driven mad by a near-fatal accident on Antos IV. The Antosians, known for their advanced regenerative biology, had granted Garth the ability to reshape his cellular structure—a power he exploits to impersonate Kirk and attempt to seize control of the Enterprise. A force field preventing reinforcements from orbit traps the duo on the planet, forcing them into a battle of wits against Garth’s theatrical tyranny.
Written by television veteran Lee Erwin, the plot is serviceable in its simplicity, though its debt to earlier episodes is undeniable. Like Dagger of the Mind, it situates the action in a psychiatric institution, a setting that allows for claustrophobic tension but feels curiously underutilised here. Erwin’s script nods to continuity in small but notable ways: the reused sets and props for Elba II’s asylum bear a passing resemblance to those of its fictional predecessor, a rare concession to consistency in a series often hamstrung by haste. Yet the narrative’s predictability undermines its potential. Garth’s descent into megalomania follows a well-worn arc, and his plan—a melodramatic bid for galactic domination—lacks the philosophical heft of, say, The Menagerie’s exploration of disability and autonomy.
The episode’s technical constraints are impossible to ignore. Season 3’s skeletal budget forced the production to economise ruthlessly: the cast is pared down to a skeleton crew, with only Kirk and Spock assigned to the away mission—a curious choice, given Dr. McCoy’s medical expertise would have been more logically suited to the task. The absence of supporting characters amplifies the sense of isolation but also exposes the story’s skeletal structure. Recurring alien races like the Tellarites and Andorians are shoehorned in as background extras, their presence justified by the flimsiest of plot devices. This recycling of costumes and prosthetics, while pragmatic, underscores the show’s creative exhaustion.
Steve Ihnat’s portrayal of Garth oscillates between magnetic and mannered. A promising actor whose career was tragically cut short by his death at 39, Ihnat leans into the role’s histrionics with gusto, delivering monologues that veer from chilling to comically overwrought. His Garth is less a tragic fallen hero than a pantomime villain, relishing his own grandeur in a manner that occasionally undermines the episode’s tension. Yet this larger-than-life performance is not without merit; Ihnat’s energy injects a degree of unpredictability into scenes that might otherwise have faltered.
The script’s most intriguing moments arise from its central gimmick: Garth’s shape-shifting. This device allows William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy to showcase their versatility as they navigate the doppelgänger trope. Shatner’s Garth/Kirk is a masterclass in mimicry, his uncanny replication of Garth’s mannerisms bordering on the uncanny—a sly wink to the audience at the actor’s own performative duality. Nimoy, meanwhile, subtly recalibrates Spock’s demeanor when portraying Garth’s imitation, his faintly exaggerated stoicism highlighting the artifice. These sequences, though brief, inject a playful wit into an otherwise sombre affair.
Yet the episode’s most indelible—if controversial—element is Yvonne Craig’s Marta, an Orion slave whose green-skinned exoticism and skimpy attire cater unapologetically to the male gaze. Marta’s sultry dance sequence, while technically proficient, feels jarringly out of step with Trek’s nominal utopianism, her character reduced to a visual spectacle rather than a narrative agent. Her brutal punishment at Garth’s hands—a violent act framed as both tragedy and titillation—further muddies the episode’s ethical stance. Craig, best known as Batgirl in the Batman series, brings a palpable charisma to the role, yet her talents are squandered on a character devoid of agency.
Marta’s inclusion also highlights the production’s technical disarray. As Craig later recounted, the makeup team had forgotten the formula for Orion green pigment by Season 3, leading to on-set improvisation that exacerbated delays. Such behind-the-scenes chaos mirrored the broader struggles of a show nearing its cancellation, its staff battling dwindling resources and morale. That Whom Gods Destroy retains any charm at all is a testament to its performers’ resilience; the episode’s campy excesses, particularly Marta’s theatrics, inadvertently lend it a kitsch appeal that elevates it above the season’s more listless entries.

The Truman Show: una película que no está mal, pero tampoco te vuela la cabeza
Vi The Truman Show hace unos días y... bueno, no voy a mentir: no me pareció la mejor película del mundo. Pero tampoco está mal. Es una de esas pelis que, aunque no te atrapen al cien por ciento desde el minuto uno, te dejan pensando un poco cuando terminan. O al menos, te hacen preguntarte algunas cosas raras sobre tu vida y el mundo que te rodea.
La idea central es bastante original (o lo fue en su momento, allá por 1998): un tipo, Truman Burbank, vive toda su vida sin saber que es el protagonista de un reality show gigante, transmitido las 24 horas del día. Su ciudad entera es un set de grabación, todos sus amigos y familiares son actores, y absolutamente todo lo que le pasa está guionado. Hasta que, claro, él empieza a sospechar.
La premisa es muy interesante, pero hay que decirlo: a veces la película se siente un poco lenta. No es una historia llena de acción o giros inesperados cada cinco minutos. Se toma su tiempo para mostrar cómo Truman empieza a notar que algo no encaja, cómo su mundo perfecto empieza a desmoronarse de a poco. Y eso puede parecer un poco repetitivo, pero si uno le da tiempo, se deja ver.
Ahora, lo que sí me pareció muy bueno fue el personaje principal. Truman es uno de esos personajes que no son súper complejos, pero sí muy humanos. Al principio es ingenuo, vive su vida con una rutina armada, todo parece estar bien. Pero en el fondo hay algo que no cierra. Una sensación de vacío, de que está viviendo una vida que no eligió. Y esa incomodidad es lo que lo impulsa a buscar respuestas.
Lo más fuerte del personaje es que representa a muchas personas que, sin estar dentro de un programa de televisión, también sienten que su vida está armada por otros. Que estudian, trabajan, se casan o siguen ciertas reglas no porque lo hayan decidido, sino porque así “tiene que ser”. Truman se empieza a despertar cuando se da cuenta de que hay algo más allá de ese mundo artificial. Y ahí, en ese momento, se vuelve un tipo valiente. Porque cuestionar todo lo que uno conoce, todo lo que se le enseñó, da miedo.
La escena final, cuando llega al límite del mundo y tiene que decidir si se queda en su zona de confort o cruza esa puerta hacia lo desconocido, es probablemente lo mejor de toda la película. Ahí es cuando The Truman Show deja de ser solo una historia medio rara y se convierte en una metáfora bastante potente. ¿Hasta qué punto somos libres? ¿Vivimos como queremos o como nos dicen que deberíamos vivir?
En resumen: The Truman Show no me pareció una joya, pero me gustó el planteo. Tiene momentos lentos, sí. No es para ver un sábado a la noche esperando acción o comedia ligera. Pero si estás con ganas de ver algo que te haga pensar un poco, que te deje con preguntas más que con respuestas, entonces vale la pena.
Y si alguna vez sentiste que todo lo que te rodea está armado para que no te escapes, mirala. Capaz entiendas a Truman más de lo que piensas.

The Truman Show: a movie that’s okay, but doesn’t blow your mind
I watched The Truman Show a few days ago and… well, I’m not going to lie: I didn’t think it was the greatest movie ever. But it’s not bad either. It’s one of those films that, even if it doesn’t hook you 100% from the start, it leaves you thinking a bit when it’s over. Or at least it makes you ask yourself some strange questions about your life and the world around you.
The central idea is pretty original (or it was back in 1998): a guy, Truman Burbank, lives his entire life without knowing he’s the star of a massive reality show broadcast 24/7. His whole town is a giant film set, all his friends and family are actors, and everything that happens to him is scripted. Until, of course, he starts to suspect something.
The premise is very interesting, but I’ll say this: sometimes the movie feels a bit slow. It’s not a story full of action or unexpected twists every five minutes. It takes its time to show how Truman starts to notice that something doesn’t add up, how his perfect world begins to fall apart bit by bit. That might seem a bit repetitive, but if you’re patient, it’s worth watching.
What I did really like was the main character. Truman is not super complex, but he feels very human. At first, he’s naive, living his life in a pre-made routine, and everything seems fine. But deep down, something feels off. There’s this emptiness, the sense that he’s living a life he didn’t choose. And that discomfort is what pushes him to look for answers.
The strongest part of his character is that he represents so many people who, even without being in a TV show, also feel like their life is controlled by others. They study, work, get married or follow certain rules not because they want to, but because that’s what they’re “supposed” to do. Truman starts to wake up when he realizes there’s something beyond that fake world. And at that moment, he becomes brave. Because questioning everything you’ve ever known or been taught is scary.
The final scene, when he reaches the edge of his world and has to choose whether to stay in his comfort zone or step through the door into the unknown, is probably the best part of the whole movie. That’s when The Truman Show stops being just a weird story and turns into a powerful metaphor. How free are we really? Are we living the life we want, or the one others expect us to live?
In short: The Truman Show didn’t feel like a masterpiece to me, but I liked the concept. It has slow moments, sure. It’s not a Saturday night popcorn flick full of laughs or explosions. But if you’re in the mood for something that makes you think a little, that leaves you with more questions than answers, then it’s worth it.
And if you’ve ever felt like the world around you is designed to keep you in place, give it a watch. You might understand Truman more than you think.

Comenzando por el nombre podemos sospechar que está serie tiene como punto focal un drama familiar entre hermanas, pero en el que se produce un asesinato de una persona que fue parte importante en la relación de estas dos hermanas. Ahora bien, es un drama con crimen y suspenso pues no conocemos la identidad del asesino sino hasta casi finalizar el desarrollo de la historia.

Nicky’s return will open a drawer of secrets that have been kept and that kept these sisters apart for years and little by little we will discover who is the better sister.

Although it is a series where a crime is investigated I would not particularly categorize it as a police series, the first suspect was arrested and brought to trial without a thorough investigation to determine that he was guilty, I found something very rushed, with many gaps in the investigation by the detectives in charge, which throughout the series were manipulated and embarrassed by the sisters, so the police part was poor, although I understand why it is not a series where the detectives were the ones who were going to discover the truth and put behind bars the murderer.
The main theme is Chloe and Nicky's relationship, finding out the real reason why they stopped seeing and talking to each other and unmasking or discovering what Adam was keeping and hopefully finding out who and why he was killed.
Aunque es una serie donde se investiga un crimen particularmente no la catalogaría como una serie policial, el primer sospechoso fue detenido y llevado a juicio sin una investigación exhaustiva que determinará que era culpable, me pareció algo muy apresurado, con muchos vacíos en la investigación de parte de los detectives a cargo, el cual en toda la serie fueron manipulados y avergonzados por las hermanas, así que la parte policial fue pobre, aunque entiendo porque no es una serie donde los detectives eran los que iban a descubrir la verdad y a poner tras la rejas al asesino.
El tema principal es la relación de Chloe y Nicky, conocer la verdadera razón del porque se dejaron de ver y hablar y desenmascarar o descubrir lo que Adam guardaba y con suerte descubrir quien y porque lo mataron.
The performances of Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel were great, I liked to see Banks in a character where you can appreciate the anguish, love and above all the ability to solve problems, so it was my favorite character. In the case of Corey Stoll, he is an actor that we are used to see him in elegant but bad characters and here he is not far behind, although his appearances as a ghost I liked a lot, they were more human, although they were more a product of Chloe's mind than her personality in life. Lorraine Toussaint's character really seemed powerful to me, a woman who can and does, she really looks stunning.
Las actuaciones de Elizabeth Banks y Jessica Biel fueron estupendas, me gustó ver a Banks en un personaje donde se apreciará la angustia, el amor y sobre todo la capacidad para resolver problemas, así que fue mi personaje favorito. En el caso de Corey Stoll, es un actor que estamos acostumbrados a verlo en personajes elegantes pero malos y aquí no se queda atrás, aunque sus apariciones como fantasma me gustaron mucho, fueron más humanas, aunque eran más producto de la mente de Chloe que de su personalidad en vida. El personaje de Lorraine Toussaint de verdad me pareció poderosos, una mujer que puede y hace, de verdad que luce despampanante.
It is a series that touches on many aspects of life such as child abuse, domestic violence, addiction, alcoholism, infidelity, abuse of power and corruption, but also the love between sisters and the protection they offer each other. It is not a series that bores you even though it has eight chapters of almost an hour each and it does not have chase action or anything like that. It is a family drama that we unravel little by little, but it is interesting because from the beginning we ask ourselves the question: What happened? Well, there are many questions regarding that relationship, although the first discovery we make may be a reason why many sisters would separate, because no woman wants her sister to stay with her husband, her son and be erased from history as if nothing happened.
So if you like dramas that also contain a bit of suspense with lots of secrets to uncover, then this series is for you and if you've already seen it I'd love for you to share your opinion in a comment.
Es una serie que toca muchos aspectos de la vida como lo son el abuso infantil, la violencia doméstica, la adicción, el alcoholismo, la infidelidad, el abuso de poder y la corrupción, pero también el amor entre hermanas y la protección que mutuamente se ofrecen. No es una serie que te aburre a pesar que cuenta con ocho capítulos de casi una hora cada uno y que no cuenta con acción de persecuciones ni nada por el estilo. Es un drama familiar que vamos desenredando poco a poco, pero es interesante porque desde el principio nos hacemos la pregunta ¿Qué fue lo que pasó? Pues existen muchas preguntas con respecto a esa relación, aunque el primer descubrimiento que hacemos puede que sea una razón por la que muchas hermanas se separarían, pues ninguna mujer quiere que su hermana se quede con su marido, su hijo y la borren de la historia como si nada.
Así que si te gustan los dramas que también contenga un poco de suspenso con muchos secretos por descubrir, entonces esta serie es para ti y si ya la viste me gustaría que compartieras tu opinión en un comentario.
So while I was scrolling through my phone watching reels and trying to relax after a hectic week I kept seeing little videos of this one Cinderella movie that was released 2021 so decided to go so what it was all about and I’ve got to say I wasn’t disappointed.
Cinderella is a 2021 romantic comedy musical directed by Kay Cannon. It’s a mesh up that I very much didn’t would be so good. First off, I genuinely loved it. It’s not your typical fairytale where Cinderella’s just trapped in a basement waiting for Prince Charming to find her shoe using her shoe. Nah. This version gives her ambition, sass, and an actual dream outside of the whole love story. She’s got her own thing going, literally, she’s trying to launch a fashion business having downs before she finally has her ups and that alone made me more invested and root for her more than I ever did in any previous version.
Now, let’s talk music, I recognized most of them from other musicals, which was such a fun surprise and this was one of the things that made me love it more, it made me want to sing along instead of just waiting for the scene to be over. There’s something about hearing familiar tracks reimagined in a fairytale or any movie at all setting that just gives you joy. The musical numbers weren’t just there to fill up space in the movie but at every scene the songs matched; they were catchy, vibrant, and full of energy and the vocals were on another level. Honestly, I even thinking of adding them to my playlist, if I don’t already have them.
What I also really appreciated was the roles the stepmother and stepsisters. They weren’t overly bitter or evil which made them feel more human. Yes, they were still caused problems for Cinderella’s, but not entirely in the same way we’re used to. It was more like they had their own insecurities and issues, and the movie gave us just enough of a glimpse into that without making them the center of attention.
And the little tweaks here and there, loved those too. It felt like the creators respected the classic while also saying, “Let’s make this fun and modern.” Which they totally did.
So yeah, if you are in the mood for a lovely energizing and light movie, this Cinderella is the movie for you. And I would like to know if you enjoyed the movie like i did.
