Quiero aclarar que este drama tiene dos temporadas, las ví en maratón una tras otra y aunque por la emoción quería hacer la reseña de las dos temporadas en un mismo post luego me dí cuenta de que iba a ser muy largo y tedioso de leer, así que como corresponde hare un post para cada temporada, también advierto que puede haber uno que otro spoiler, dicho esto, comenzamos. 😊

Voy a ser sincera pense que este drama sería como study gruop, con un protagonista super sonriente y carismático y peleas súper estilizadas y no es nada de eso, pero tiene su propio encanto se enfoca en la violencia escolar en su máxima expresión aquí no hay fantasía es un drama con una historia bastante real y cruda, de hecho las peleas son crudas y para nada elegantes cómon son las peleas en la vida real.

El protagonista es un chico deprimido que no tiene amigos y solo se enfoca en estudiar, pero no se mete con nadie y en realidad es buena persona, en medio del caos conoce a Ahn Su Ho y Oh Beom Seok y se forma una amistad hermosa que lamentablemente luego se ve afectada por la traición de uno de ellos, debo admitir que sufrí mucho esa traición ya que le había agarrado mucho cariño al personaje y no me esperaba ese giro en la historia, pero siento que fue necesario para explorar temas como la verdadera amistad, la lealtad y el como a veces personas que son víctimas de la sociedad y de sus propias familias, luego se desquitan con quienes menos tienen la culpa, algo lamentable que pasa a diario en la vida real.

Ame el personaje de Ahn Su Ho siento que era el elemento cómico del drama, pero al mismo tiempo un personaje muy prudente y sensato, fue quién le enseño a Shi Eun lo bueno que era tener amigos con quien contar la interpretación de Choi Hyun Wook como siempre impecable, tengo entendido que para el momento de estrenarse esta serie esta actor era un novato, pues la verdad no se le nota, fue una actuación entrañable. 🥰

En fin este drama me encantó, aunque debo admitir que en los últimos capítulos ya no aguantaba mas escenas de pelea, que bueno que fueron solo 8 capitulos 🤣🤣 la verdad aunque la disfrute y me gustó, la violencia no es lo mío, pero bueno valió la pena, así que de puntuación le doy un 9/10.

Espantaho [a Filipino Horror film] --- unintentionally hilarious! XD

I'm a fan of horror films, especially psychological ones. However, it's quite rare for me to watch Filipino movies. I think it's because I'm familiar with them, so they have been predictable for me. Some of them are even quite cringe to watch, but others may still enjoy it.
When we had an internet problem last week, I couldn't work. I have some phone data, so I tried looking for stuff to watch on Netflix. Then among the suggestions was this Filipino film called Espantaho.

What got me interested was the lineup of actors who were cast in the film. They're really big names in the Philippine movie industry, like Judy Ann Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Chanda Romero, Janice De Belen, Eugene Domingo, Tommy Abuel, and so on. In addition, the director Chito S Roño is quite known for directing horror films in my country.
Given this lineup, I have high expectations. But I realized that I shouldn't have done that. hahaha Anyway, allow me to tell you more about the movie.

The movie is about Monet and her mom Rosa. The two of them, alongside other family members and friends, are mourning her father's death.
Monet's mother was her father's second wife. During the nine-day vigil following her father's death, her father's first wife and her half-siblings came. They're planning to sell the properties left by her father, but Monet asked them to wait until the vigil is over.
However, as the vigil was held, unsettling events started happening. Some people ended up missing. As they try to find out what's happening, dark secrets are revealed, and entities start lurking in their ancestral home.

To be honest, I actually like the story. I'm Filipino, so it was quite predictable for me. However, it's a good way to introduce some Filipino culture, traditions and folklore to the foreign audience.
It's packed with heavy and deep family-related issues that are relatable. The actors, especially the main character, did an amazing job in portraying her role. It's as I expected, given the amazing lineup of stars that I mentioned earlier in this post.

Talent-wise, especially the cast, I'm hands down. However, what put me off was the effects. T_T The CGI did not give justice to the story and the effort of the actors. It decreased the eeriness of the film.
The sound effects, and in my opinion, "forceful" jump scares, made the movie funny instead. I guess they wanted to emphasize on the "horror" part, but it became too much... and ended up comedic.
I guess, if they tried to keep it simpler and less forced, the effect on the audience (at least for me) would be bigger.
So, instead of suspense or horror, it has become a mystery drama with a touch of comedy. I couldn't take it very seriously, to be honest.
It had so much potential, but it kind of got weighed down by the visuals. It's frustrating because I like the plot, and the performance of the actors was amazing, but they lack the technical execution.
Will I recommend it?
I want to. It could be interesting to people who are unfamiliar with Filipino culture, and the story gives that. Filipino talent, when it comes to acting, is also very commendable, especially the cast of this film. So yeah, I'd still recommend it. BUT, I'll leave a friendly heads-up about the CGI or effects.
Anyway, I still enjoyed it. The actors' talent was the saving grace. hahah Though I'm afraid that I won't be watching this a second time. XD

My Review A Galaxy Next Door is one of the most heartwarming and soothing anime I have ever seen. It is not overly dramatic or fast-paced. It is a beautiful display of a calm nature that slowly unfolds a sweet love story between two tender souls. What really touched me was how Ichiro and Shiori support each other through their emotional burdens and daily life struggles.

Even with its light sci-fi touches, the story is grounded in emotion. The character designs are soft and expressive and the voice acting really enhances their sincerity. While not overly action-packed, its strength comes through in the quiet moments and small dialogues and subtle development.

If you enjoy a relaxing slow-paced romantic anime with a sense of emotional maturity and a slice of life feel. I highly recommend A Galaxy Next Door. I hope you enjoy it.

UNTIL DAWN - A very acceptable adaptation
Hello friends I hope you are well, it's a pleasure to be here, it's been a little complicated week for me in health issues that's why I've been a little absent. Today I bring you a movie that is quite new 2025, and the truth is that now at this stage of my life I am not too much of a fan of gory or extreme horror movies, however this one caught my attention and I found it interesting.
It is of the genre horror suspense and the truth is that I also feel that it is half science fiction, as situations happen where they do something like experiments, as a curious fact this movie is based on a PlayStation 4 game, it has a duration of 1 hour and 48 minutes, and I must say first of all that when you start watching it gives me the feeling as if it were an inspiration to the movie or the game Silent Hill, has an air but no doubt the latter plays more with the minds of their victims.

A movie that if you suffer from nerves may not be for you, rather than give any spoilers or a summary, I feel it is a pretty interesting installment as it gives you a spooky atmosphere which keeps you in expectation. A group of guys decide to go investigate the disappearance of their friend's sister, yes it may lend some things that may seem familiar to you in terms of some guys always going where the darkness and danger is most exposed, or if they see that door half open and dark, they go in there.
However, the film has an atmosphere that makes it striking, there is a time loop that never seems to end and this makes it a torture. It seems that this place where they arrived is cursed and at the same time a series of experiments with human beings where no one has come out alive. I want to highlight the performance of the first actor Peter Stormare who has done incredible work in films like Constantine, Armageddon and others. The young actors who could be said to be the main characters are not very well known to me. Although it falls into some clichés there are many things that can be rescued and makes it a film that manages to bring a good narrative.

It's definitely something you feel like you've seen before in other movies as I mentioned, it can have a bit of an aura like the FROM series or some things like the Silent Hill movie saga and that loop that is pretty typical in some horror movies. It's entertaining and the truth is I wasn't bored watching it, I enjoyed refreshing my mind a bit and remembering how interesting horror movies are.
I would give it a healthy score of 7/10, it has many things that we have already seen in other movies, but it is still interesting and can give us a moment of entertainment, it would be good to get a second part, but I hope they give something a little more original, with respect to editing the special effects were pretty good. Una segunda temporada muy esperada después de la vara alta que dejó la primera. Me estoy encontrando con que a muchos les disgustó esta temporada, pero yo la disfruté mucho. Había empezado a verla el día de su estreno, vi el primer capítulo y me pareció acertado, que seguía la línea del videojuego bastante bien. I think it was a good way, sometimes you need to marathon quietly without losing the thread of the plot. My perception is that from chapter 4 onwards it picked up a lot. In 4 you started to see more action and 5 was beautifully crazy. I love those tense moments where anything can happen. Chapter 6 killed me, and chapter 7 had a great ending.

Para mí estuvo muy buena esta temporada, tuvo un poco de todo, me reí, me emocioné y me enojé, aunque ya sabía qué esperar por el videojuego. También sé que cambiaron algunos detalles y dejaron otras cosillas afuera, pero para mí estuvo okey. Tuvo más explicaciones y necesitaban hilar mejor lo que iba pasando con las mismas cinemáticas propias del videojuego. Creo que lo resolvieron lo mejor posible y no me disgustaron para nada los cambios.

No tengo quejas en cuanto a actuaciones, eso sí, no deja de impactarme lo iguales que me parecieron las actrices de Dina y Abby a sus respectivos personajes, era una cosa impresionante. La verdad que me encantó este detalle, y no, no estoy para nada en contra de Bella Ramsey como Ellie a pesar de no parecerse en nada físicamente porque para mí ella es excelente. Ni que decir de Pedro Pascal como Joel, lo voy a llorar toda la vida más o menos, sí, así de exagerada jajaja.

This series is a safe recommendation for me; it's quite entertaining and truly has everything. I must clarify that it's a series for those 18+, as it has some very strong scenes, in addition to exploring themes of sexuality and gender identity. It also touches on topics related to politics, religion, corruption, etc.

Ciertamente debo aclarar que es una serie para +18 años ya que tiene escenas bastante fuertes, ademas de explorar los temas de la sexualidad y la identidad de género. Por otro lado toca temas acerca de la política, la religión, la corrupción, etc.

Tienen bastantes criticas hacia ciertas instituciones, muestra partes muy reales de la vida. Esto lo hace una buena serie, además la experiencia que te brinda mientras mira la serie es de otro nivel.

Unos datos curiosos, es que como mencioné antes estas 8 personas están esparcidas alrededor del mundo. Pues todas escenas fueron grabadas en los países correspondientes y con actores locales, así que nos dan una mirada verdadera de los países y de la cultura. Otro dato es que esta serie había sido cancelada pero por las múltiples protestas a nivel mundial que generó esta cancelación tuvieron que reanudarla, cerrando con un último capítulo que duró más de 2 horas.

Vi Babygirl y me pareció que es una película bastante intensa, está dirigida por Halina Reijn y la verdad terminó siendo mucho más profunda de lo que esperaba porque yo había visto los trailers que la promocionaban y me parecía como un thriller erótico típico, pero no fue así para nada, toca bastante la parte emocional y Nicole Kidman estuvo espectacular para mí es una de las mejores actrices que hay. La película arranca con Romy teniendo relaciones con su esposo Antonio Banderas y después va corriendo a otro cuarto para ver pornografía y masturbarse, esto dice bastante sobre su matrimonio sin necesidad de dar explicaciones y yo creí que iba a ser otra historia típica de mujer insatisfecha pero Halina Reijn tiene una mentalidad diferente a thrillers eróticos de años anteriores. Cuando aparece Samuel interpretado por Harris Dickinson me di cuenta por donde venía la cosa, el tipo primero calma a un perro que está agresivo dándole una galleta y luego aparece trabajando en la empresa de Romy, todo esto del perro es un simbolismo pero que funciona porque ella le pregunta cómo calmó al animal y él responde que le dio una galleta, luego le pregunta si ella quiere una y aqui comienza todo este juego peligroso entre dominación y sumisión que define toda la película.

La química entre Kidman y Dickinson es buenísima, cada vez que aparecen se siente la tensión sexual y algo que me gustó es que la directora logró que las escenas íntimas no fueran simplemente calientes sino incómodas y reales, mostrando dos personas tratando de entender qué tipo de relación están construyendo, cuando finalmente se encuentran en el hotel para su primer encuentro sexual, él le dice que coma dulces de su mano como un perro y después la lleva al orgasmo y esta mujer después de sentir ese orgasmo llora porque ha estado casada por 20 años y no ha experimentado eso con otra persona. Esta parte me recordó a muchas mujeres frustradas que descubren lo que realmente puede ser el sexo cuando alguien se enfoca en su placer y lo descubren muy viejas y algunas ni siquiera lo llegan a conocer, hay que ser honestas esta sociedad enseña a las mujeres casi que es pecado priorizar su propio goce y una vez que el hombre termina se acabó todo, imagínate en la época de antes nuestras abuelas aunque eso está cambiando con el autodescubrimiento. Samuel se enfoca completamente en ella, le da lo que necesita pero también establece límites claros sobre consentimiento, hay una conversación donde él le dice que tiene que decir explícitamente que quiere esto antes de continuar, lo cual es importante en cualquier relación de dominación y sumisión, la película maneja estos temas con bastante madurez y esto muy poco se ve en las películas de este estilo.

Hay una escena donde le dice a su esposo que le mintió sobre quién era y luego se molestó con él por no conocer su verdadero yo, esto me pegó bastante porque entiendo perfectamente esa frustración de pretender ser alguien más y luego resentir a otros por no ver tu verdadero ser, cuando en realidad tú eres quien está eligiendo no mostrarte auténticamente porque ajá la gente no es adivina. La película también toca el tema de que Romy fue criada como en una secta religiosa y esto explica mucha de la vergüenza que siente por sus fantasías sexuales, aunque esto se menciona muy rápido y no se desarrolla bien pero se puede entender, aunque si me hubiese gustado que se profundizara un poco más pero entiendo que la película ya tenía mucho que manejar en sus dos horas de duración. La actuación de Nicole Kidman es simplemente fenomenal, ella se entrega completamente al personaje y logra transmitir esa lucha interna entre el deseo y la verguenza de muy buena forma.

Yo creo que Babygirl es una película necesaria para muchas mujeres no me malinterpretes no estoy mandándote a que le montes cacho a tu esposo ni que abuses de tu poder si lo tienes, digo que es necesaria para que te apropies de ti de lo que quieres y lo que te gusta. There is a scene where she tells her husband that she lied to him about who she was and then got upset with him for not knowing her true self, this hit me pretty hard because I totally understand that frustration of pretending to be someone else and then resenting others for not seeing your true self, when in reality you are the one who is choosing not to show yourself authentically because aha people are not fortune tellers. The film also touches on Romy being raised as in a religious sect and this explains a lot of the shame she feels about her sexual fantasies, although this is mentioned very quickly and not developed well but it is understandable, although I would have liked it to have gone a little deeper but I understand that the film already had a lot to handle in its two hour running time. Nicole Kidman's performance is simply phenomenal, she gives herself completely to the character and manages to convey that internal struggle between desire and shame in a very good way.

I think Babygirl is a necessary movie for many women, don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to ride your husband's ass or abuse your power if you have it, I'm saying it's necessary for you to take ownership of what you want and what you like. Today I will review an old anime called Sword Art Online. It's an anime that was suggested by my niece, as she's an anime lover, and so am I. This is a science fiction anime, which is my favorite genre. There are adventurous elements, and we also get to see some action. I have only watched season 1, and it was a really good journey. For that reason, I am here to introduce you all to this anime.

In the trailer, it is explained that people are wearing gear to enter a virtual world, and those who are playing cannot lose their HP; if they do, they will die in real life as well. To make an exit, the players must clear the game, and our main protagonist is a boy named Kirito. There's also another character, a girl named Asuna. The trailer looked amazing; I understood the story, and I really wanted to watch it after seeing the trailer, as I have never seen anything like this before. This is nothing like the old stories, and although this anime is very old, it was thoughtful to make an anime like this.

The story begins with a boy playing game with a helmet gear and he lays on bed to start the game which is completely done with brain as it is connected to the nerves of the brain. He was a beta tester in the game and one day he gets stuck in the game there was no option to exit the game. All the players started to panic a announcement happened it was told that all of them has to survive till the end of the game otherwise they will be dead in real life also if the helmet is removed in real life they will still die and the only way out is to play the game until the end. In Kirito's journey he mets up with many people and makes new friends.

This anime is outstanding and beyond imagination, with a fantastic storyline and strong characters. The female lead is as strong as our male lead, which was really good to see, as we don't often see female leads being strong enough. This is a great anime to start with and something to end with. As the anime is based on a game, which is the most interesting part, we get to see so many cool features. When I watched this anime, I imagined playing a game like this too. This didn't feel like just a game but a war against the game developer. People getting trapped in a game is really scary; if something like that happened in real life, it would be really crazy.

I feel lucky enough to experience an anime like this. I really don't care about the ratings of the anime; in my honest opinion, I would give it 10/10, as it's the best anime I have watched so far. The intro and outro had really good music, which fascinates me. There were some parts where I laughed and some where I felt emotional. It was too good to handle.

Of course I was looking forward to this live action with excitement✨ I grew up watching Disney movies, those little girls who would take an early bath just to sit down with dinner to watch whatever was on the channel. Lilo & Stitch was one of those stories that stuck in my heart from the first time I saw it, how could I not love that 626 experiment so chaotic and adorable!🩵

So when they announced the live action version I was excited, although I'm not going to lie: I was a little scared, because the original is already perfect as it is. The most important thing was that they respected its essence. However, I loved Stitch's design and I felt that the choice of cast was right. And, moreover, I was motivated by the nostalgia of reconnecting with my inner child, the one who still believes in the power of ohana✨

Por supuesto que esperaba este live action con emoción✨ Crecí viendo películas de Disney, de esas niñas que se bañaban temprano solo para sentarse con la cena a ver lo que estuvieran dando en el canal. Lilo & Stitch fue una de esas historias que se me quedó en el corazón desde la primera vez que la ví, ¡cómo no amar a ese experimento 626 tan caótico y adorable!🩵

Así que cuando anunciaron la versión en live action estuve emocionada, aunque no les voy a mentir: tenía un poquito de miedo, porque la original ya es perfecta tal como es. Lo más importante era que respetaran su esencia. Sin embargo, me encantó el diseño de Stitch y sentí que la elección del cast fue acertada. Y, además, estaba motivada por la nostalgia de volver a conectar con mi niña interior, la que aún cree en el poder del ohana✨

Lilo & Stitch tells the story of a Hawaiian girl named Lilo, who lives with her older sister, Nani, after the loss of their parents. One day, Lilo adopts Stitch, a strange “dog” who is actually an escaped alien experiment. What starts out as utter chaos turns into an adventure about family, belonging and unconditional love. Because, as we well know, ohana means family, and family never leaves you, nor forgets you🩵.

This live action was a direct embrace to childhood. From the beginning they respected iconic scenes that made us smile and, in my case, cry a little bit. Lilo and Stitch kept all their essence: their bond, their tenderness and that adorable chaos that characterizes them. It was like watching the original movie come to life, without losing its magic🥺.

Un día, Lilo adopta a Stitch, un extraño "perro" que en realidad es un experimento alienígena fugitivo. Este live action fue un abrazo directo a la infancia. Desde el inicio respetaron escenas icónicas que nos hicieron sonreír y, en mi caso, también aguar los ojitos. Lilo y Stitch conservan toda su esencia: su vínculo, su ternura y ese caos adorable que los caracteriza. Fue como ver la película original tomar vida, sin perder su magia🥺

The Hawaiian setting, the landscapes and the music representative of Hawaii and Elvis Presley, make you feel part of the island spirit, just like the first time. And watching Stitch's emotional development again, his learning about family and a sense of belonging, is just beautiful. It's easy to forget that, beyond being an alien experiment, Stitch is a child learning to live.

And if we talk about characters, I can not fail to mention Nani. When I was a little girl, maybe I didn't understand her complexity, but now I admire her deeply. She didn't have all the answers, nor a manual on how to do things, but she gave her all for Lilo. Seeing her struggle through different eyes touched me deeply. And yes, I know several people disagree with the ending, but this is live action and real life is not like Disney movies. Nani was also a young girl who lost her parents, had no money and no job, and both were struggling. The sacrifice Nani made at the end is a big change, but it's realistic. She also deserves to fulfill her dreams, and she left her sister with people she both knows, who appreciate them and who could give her stability. Yes, family is "nobody gets left behind", but at no time did I feel that they abandoned each other, on the contrary, decisions were made that ensured the well being of both.

Also, in the end we observe how Nani can visit Lilo whenever she wants, so they will always be united🩷.

La ambientación hawaiana, los paisajes y la música representativa de Hawái y de Elvis Presley, hacen que te sientas parte del espíritu isleño, igual que la primera vez. Y ver nuevamente el desarrollo emocional de Stitch, su aprendizaje sobre la familia y el sentido de pertenencia, es simplemente hermoso. Es fácil olvidar que, más allá de ser un experimento alienígena, Stitch es un niño aprendiendo a vivir.

Y si de personajes hablamos, no puedo dejar de mencionar a Nani. De pequeña quizás no entendía su complejidad, pero ahora la admiro profundamente. No tenía todas las respuestas, ni un manual de cómo hacer las cosas, pero lo daba todo por Lilo. Ver su lucha con otros ojos me tocó profundamente. Y sí, sé que varias personas no están de acuerdo con el final, pero esto es un live action y la vida real no es como la películas de Disney. Nani también era una niña que perdió a sus padres, no tenía dinero ni trabajo, y ambas estaban pasando dificultades. El sacrificio que hizo Nani al final es un gran cambio, pero es realista. Ella también merece cumplir sus sueños, y dejó a su hermana con personas que ambas conocen, que las aprecian y que sí le podían dar una estabilidad. Sí, la familia "no te abandona", pero en ningún momento sentí que ellas se abandonaron, al contrario, se tomaron decisiones que aseguraban el bienestar de ambas.

Además, en el final observamos como Nani puede visitar a Lilo cuando ella quiera, así que siempre estarán unidas🩷

We know that Disney live actions come with doubts, especially when the original is already perfect. But in this case, I feel that a genuine effort was made to respect the story that marked our childhoods. Obviously, there are changes and omissions (yes, we were robbed of the glamorous Pleakley moments 🫢). Anyway, probably adapting some points was complicated (like Gantu, for example) considering that they kept a low budget compared to other Disney live actions; however, I consider that they did a good job in at least filling the space of this character.

Same with Jumba and Pleakley, who we didn't see the live action adaptation of these characters throughout the film, but it made sense that because of their advanced alien technology they had the ability to disguise themselves as humans, and it really gave more logic to the development of an adaptation. Likewise, the actors did a lovely job of humanizing these characters.

Sabemos que los live actions de Disney llegan con dudas, especialmente cuando la original ya es perfecta. Pero en este caso, siento que se hizo un esfuerzo genuino por respetar la historia que marcó nuestras infancias. Obviamente, hay cambios y omisiones (sí, nos robaron los momentos de Pleakley modo glamuroso🫢). De igual, probablemente adaptar algunos puntos era complicado (como Gantu, por ejemplo) teniendo en cuenta que mantenían un bajo presupuesto en comparación a otros live actions de Disney; sin embargo, considero que hicieron un buen trabajo en al menos rellenar el espacio de este personaje.

Lo mismo con Jumba y Pleakley, que no vimos la adaptación live action de estos personajes durante toda la película, pero tuvo sentido que debido a su tecnología alienígena avanzada tuvieran la posibilidad de disfrazarse de humanos, y realmente eso le daba más lógica al desarrollo de una adaptación. De igual manera, los actores hicieron un trabajo encantador humanizando a estos personajes.

In fact, I think what I loved most was seeing the story again from an adult's point of view. When we were kids, we saw a fun, chaotic alien story. Now, everything has a deeper meaning, such as seeing a being created to destroy who, little by little, understands what it means to belong, to love, to care, and to be cared for.

De hecho, creo que lo que más amé fue volver a ver la historia desde una mirada adulta. De pequeños, veíamos una historia divertida y caótica de extraterrestres. Ahora, todo tiene un sentido más profundo, como por ejemplo, ver a un ser creado para destruir que, poco a poco, va entendiendo lo que significa pertenecer, amar, cuidar, y ser cuidado.

La película nos recuerda que la familia no siempre es perfecta, ni convencional, pero puede ser ese lugar seguro que elegimos construir cada día. Que a veces no se trata de ser fuerte, sino de mantenerse cerca, aunque todo se esté cayendo a pedazos. Y ese mensaje sigue presente, vibrante y honesto🌸

There are films that speak to you. The Wind Rises doesn’t. It murmurs just loud enough for you to lean in, and by the time you realize it, you’ve fallen into something that isn’t quite a dream, and not exactly reality either. It’s like remembering someone else’s life, one detail at a time—half of them beautiful, the other half too quiet to name.

Jirō isn’t a hero. I’m not even sure he’s the protagonist in the usual sense. Watching him is like watching a man fold his soul into blueprints. He’s not trying to change the world—he’s just trying to build something that flies, even if it burns on the way down. And somehow, that makes him harder to love and harder to judge. I kept wondering: how much beauty is worth the cost of silence?

The film moves like wind itself—sometimes aimless, sometimes abrupt, sometimes whispering things you only understand after they’re gone. It’s full of stillness, but not the peaceful kind. More like the kind that fills a room after someone leaves. Even the love story, if that’s what it is, doesn’t offer shelter. It just… happens. Briefly. Tenderly. Like two people sharing a secret they both know will expire.

Visually, it’s deceptive. The softness of the animation lulls you into thinking it’s safe. But it isn’t. There’s a quiet violence in the way things are drawn here—how the sky always seems just out of reach, how the wind carries more than air. It’s all so gently precise that you forget you’re watching war materialize in pencil strokes. And maybe that’s the point: the most dangerous things often arrive wrapped in beauty.

When it ended, I didn’t feel sad. I felt haunted. There’s something deeply unsettling about watching a man chase a dream that’s already marked for ruin. But what got to me most wasn’t the war, or the loss, or even the inevitability of it all—it was the way Jirō kept walking forward, like forward was the only direction he could understand. Not hopeful. Not naïve. Just… committed. And I’m still thinking about what that says, not just about him, but about all of us.
