okay so no big formal paragraphs this time, just kind of unloading my brain while it's all still fresh, because i literally just watched the finale like an hour ago and i'm still processing it a little.

THE PREMISE — a guy with zero law degree bluffs his way into one of nyc's top firms because he's got a photographic memory and absolutely nothing left to lose. on paper that's such a dumb premise. like genuinely, if someone described this to me cold i'd assume it was a one-season gimmick show that runs out of gas fast. it isn't. somehow the show manages to make that lie feel like a ticking bomb for years... every season finds a new angle to threaten it, a new person who almost figures it out, a new stake that makes getting caught feel more catastrophic than the last time. i kept waiting for it to get old and it just never did.

HARVEY — okay so the ego is kind of the whole point, and that took me embarrassingly long to actually get. i spent the early seasons thinking "cool, confident guy, got it" and totally underestimating how much was going on underneath that. the swagger is armor. the one-liners are armor. and watching that crack open slowly, season by season, instead of all at once in some big cathartic moment, is honestly what sold me on him as an actual character instead of just a vibe. by the time he's letting himself be vulnerable in front of mike near the end, it hits so much harder because you've watched how hard-won that openness actually was.

MIKE — starts the show as basically a con artist playing dress-up in a suit that doesn't belong to him. ends the show as someone who's genuinely, unambiguously earned his seat at that table, lie or no lie. that transformation is the actual backbone of the entire series, and it's such a satisfying arc to watch play out because the show never lets you forget the fraud underneath it... even when mike's clearly become brilliant in his own right, the lie is still there, still a threat, still shaping every decision he makes.

DONNA — okay no notes here, she's my favorite by the finale, completely. she starts as "the assistant who mysteriously knows everything before anyone tells her" and ends up as one of the most powerful, most respected people in the entire building. and the slow burn with harvey..... that thing should not have worked stretched across as many seasons as it was, that's such a risky thing to drag out that long without it becoming frustrating. and somehow it completely worked. when it finally resolves i actually got a little emotional, which is not a sentence i expected to say about a legal drama.

LOUIS LITT — did not expect to love this man as much as i ended up loving him, genuinely. he starts off almost pathetic...... a little sniveling, a little bit of a punchline, kind of an antagonist in the early seasons... and turns into one of the most human, most rooted-for characters in the whole cast. his arc from insecure, overlooked partner to someone who finds real love and real respect from the people around him might honestly be the most satisfying transformation in the entire show. i was fully cheering for him by the end in a way i did not see coming from season one louis.

WHERE IT SAGS — gonna be honest, the middle seasons definitely drift a bit. there's some storylines that get introduced with a lot of weight and then just kind of quietly dropped without real payoff. a bit too much manufactured conflict some seasons, just to keep episode counts moving instead of because the story actually needed it. and mike and rachel's relationship, while sweet, felt kind of static compared to how much everyone around them was growing and changing...they just sort of existed as "the couple" without getting the same depth as the harvey/donna or louis arcs.

THE VIBE OVERALL — stylish as hell, sharp dialogue, genuinely great ensemble chemistry that makes even filler episodes watchable. the show has this way of making corporate lawsuits feel like high-stakes chess matches, which sounds like it shouldn't be as tense as it is, but somehow always is. i went in expecting a background show, something to half-watch while doing other stuff, and ended up fully, embarrassingly invested in these people's lives.

CLOSING THOUGHT — finishing a show like this always leaves this weird little hole afterward.... like i spent actual years of these characters' lives with them and now it's just over... Its a good sign if a show can do that to you after this long.

Now that was fast, Im not so sure if Im ok with it or is this season want to errase from history how bad season 2 was, I say this because they just put down the main two villains of season 2 in the first two episodes. Moving forwards, this new renasance situation finally got the sense that Dead City remembered why Manhattan matters, instead of being another backdrop for Maggie and Negan trading the same tired jabs. Renata and Maggie spend the hour turning a busted hospital into a real neighborhood, getting the power, medical care, and streets running again, and the show saves us the time of hunting down supplies and jumps straight into installing cameras, microphones, setting everything up creating that feeling of progress and been practical. It also feels good how Maggie has stopped orbiting Glenn and years of grudge holding and started looking forward for once, that entire situation also kept season 2 dragging AF, I think really fits her as a leader better than more that her revenge against Negan or the never ending conflict with her son, she is not some saint about it, yet the path they have her on finally clicks feels like she might be the hero or leader of this series. The Statue of Liberty moment is so cheese but I get it works, some rusted symbol of hope lighting back up, it just works because Maggie and Renata are making a loud public bet, knowing anyone they draw in could just as easily bring danger with them. I would rather watch Maggie deal with that than another one note villain trying to take the island. Maggie wants this city to count for something again and every stranger who shows up could help her build it or tear it back down, finally a fight worth her energy but that is the never ending question of this Walking Dead shows, will any of them be able to restore civilization? on other shows like The Last of Us they do, it feels like a show with more hope but all this Walking Dead shows are the same on that aspect, there is always something or something that turns everything upside down, considering the walkers are not the problem anymore.

This episode also doesnt errase Maggie and Negan history, in fact he keeps it alive more than ever now wanting to die for everything he has done but Maggie leans on him because nobody understands better how a group splinters or how order slips, he lived that from the top down. Negan wants zero part of it at first, hiding out drinking at Dillard;s, trading insults and burning hours on video games, which fits I guess is fine, its like the world took a break for them especially once he says the kids are better off without him and his life feels lighter without them, coming from anyone else that would sound cold, but from Negan it plays like honesty since he recognize who he is and what he has done. Maggie still needs Negan because she needs the experience that only he has and it keeps the two of them comming back at each other and pulling the same direction even when they are on the same block. Negan turns into a kind of oracle I guess, I also think thats just better than spending another half season circling whether Maggie can ever forgive him or not when we already now she cant but somehow needs to get pass it without forgeting because if she doesnt then there is no future for her or even Hershel. Maggie argues that once people stop living in constant fear, most of them turn into better versions of themselves, but Negan pushes back that some people never change and that is exactly why a real society still needs judges, lawyers and wardens. There is truth in what he says even though his own order turned ugly and violent fast and their exchange about how the Saviors used to run things might be the best flashback of the show if you have follow from the OG series, mainly because neither one look completely right.

Then comes the Dama, this is somebody who manipulates people for sport and already has bodies on her hands but the truth is that she has always manipulated those who in some way were weak of mind no matter how brilliant they were, just look at The Croat like how was it possible that she had him eating from her hand all that time been that smart?. They finally lock her down and it was very easy, I thought the series was going to keep her in the back while they preset the new villian or danger but they didnt, agian its like they just ripping off every proof that season 2 existed. Renata makes the obvious point that locking her up just means someone has to babysit whoever is babysitting her. Maggie will not pull the trigger herself, so she leaves a knife with a meal because she is not eating so she might just kill herself, quietly offering the Dama a way out, because she still wants that final call to be hers and nobody elses. Negan refuses that arrangement and sneaks down to grab the blade and use it on her, the show does not show that scene but its just the obvious. Latter on, Maggie walks in to find her turned with the blade still in her chest, but it look like she was not so convience Dama did it, and Negan just quietly owns what he did instead of the show milking it, it was satisfying but not so much. What matters here is that Negan took that final call out of Maggie's hands because he does not trust her judgment, thats going to keep creating more problems down the line between them, maybe the Dama really needed to die, but that hardly makes Negan right about calling the shot, Maggie is trying to build somewhere that does not let one person play judge over who lives and Negan has already taken a shortcut over that before the front gates are even open, so he might do it again if he feels its necessary.

This episode is far from flawless and a few weak spots stick out more now that the show has real momentum as it tries to stear its direction. Dillard is funny bouncing insults off Negan over video games and that keep them both as good budies just having fun, then he starts chatting up walkers like they can understand each other, I wonder if he is really into something or just crazy because it gets irritating fast for Nega, especially once it nearly gets them both killed or at least into a hot watter moment with a couple of walkers. He goes and mention how he spent years undercover in human trafficking investigations explains why he is so skittish, but I still do not buy that he has survived this long being this careless. Hershel comes off stronger this time, picking up medicine under Luis gives him purpose and it just takes him away from that never ending question whether he could take a life gives Maggie a chance to mother him again. Its like the show wants to rush past what the Dama actually did inside his head, and while that part feels like needed more room I think its just better to cut it from the roots. Now I think there is a bigger problem here that this show keeps quietly avoiding, Maggie keeps naming Alexandria, the prison and Hilltop when she talks about her own history running communities, yet nobody explains why she has not lifted a finger to contact anyone from that old life?? makes you wonder if the is the black cloud above each of this communities, or was Hershel in many of them?. New Babylon finally gets Perlie Armstrong back and Maggie hands him the job of spreading word about Manhattan, Maggie is throwing her doors open to strangers before ever giving a though of how they going to keep under control those who they assume they will be able to control, I think this is going to back fire on here somone and its just the obvious because there cant be a happy ending for The Walking Dead. I do not need every old face dragged back onscreen, I just want one solid reason why Manhattan feels so sealed off like is this secure place when clearly its not, it cant be.

So far this might be one of the best episodes of the series, the one that makes sense and reconstruct it since it clears out everything that had this series going in circles and it is the first hour all season that has me leaning forward wanting more. The Dama is dead, Perlie is finally on his way home, Maggie has thrown Manhattan wide open and Negan has fall into an advisory role while already showing that whatever help he gives is going to cost something and could split them up. Together those shifts give the season real momentum without needing a new villain, at least for now, there is also new danger that comes purely from Maggie betting on hope, chasing more people, skills, food and medicine, while Negan already knows fresh faces drag fear, greed and violence and he is ready for it, almost like waiting for the "I told you so" opportunity. Renata mainly wants to protect what she has already scraped together, and Dillard and Hershel both keep certain important side roles that might keep the story interesting and not 110% focus only on Maggie and Negan. Some of those people who are comming into Manhattan are probably just looking for somewhere safe to land, while others might take that beacon as an invitation to grab whatever they can, I get that feeling from the last group of people showing going out of the shadows, either way putting these two to work rebuilding something together its just better than their old grudges. That closing shot, strangers filtering in once the torch flickers back to life, means Maggie is about to face whatever she just set in motion.

His current sound combines the nostalgia of the ’90s with a mature and powerful production, so for this TTT I’ll share three recent songs from his latest releases, and for those familiar with the band’s work, you’ll notice that their music has reached an even higher level than what we’re used to. These are their most recent releases two of them from the album One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1, which was released in 2024, and a new release of the same album but featuring its second chapter, *Front Toward Enemy *. Anyway, this is just my humble opinion; judge for yourselves after listening. Let’s listen, rock lovers…

I need to start by saying I never expect a vampire movie to make me all emotional and yet here we are... I was mostly curious about Ryan Coogler doing something completely outside his usual wheelhouse when I started the movie and I walked out thinking about it for days afterward.. This isn't just a good genre movie.. it might be one of the best things I've seen in years... full stop.

The setup drops us into 1930s Mississippi, where twin brothers Smoke and Stack return home from Chicago with money, ambition, and a plan to open a juke joint in their old community. What starts as a story about legacy, music, and building something for their own people slowly, deliberately, turns into something much darker once a group of vampires shows up and starts picking off the community they've built. That tonal shift shouldn't work as well as it does... going from a grounded period drama about Black entrepreneurship and generational trauma into full supernatural horror... but Coogler threads that needle with so much confidence that the transition never feels like whiplash. It feels earned.

Michael B. Jordan playing both twins is the anchor of the whole thing, and it's genuinely remarkable work. Smoke and Stack aren't just "same face, different personality" tricks... they feel like two distinct people shaped by the same upbringing who processed it in completely different ways, and Jordan differentiates them so precisely through posture, rhythm, even the way they hold silence, that I stopped thinking of it as a technical feat halfway through and just started thinking of them as brothers. That's the mark of a performance really landing.

But honestly, what got me the most was the music. This movie treats blues music almost like a spiritual force, something that can literally reach across time and call things toward it, and there's a sequence involving a young musician playing that had me sitting completely still, genuinely moved. It's rare for a film to make music feel like a character in its own right rather than just a backdrop, and Sinners does that better than almost anything else I've seen try it.

Wunmi Mosaku and the rest of the supporting cast bring so much texture to this world too... every relationship feels lived-in, every person in this juke joint feels like they have history and stakes beyond just being background for the horror to pick off one by one. That's not a small thing in a vampire movie. So many films in this genre treat side characters as disposable, and this one clearly cares about every person it puts on screen.

Visually, it's gorgeous... warm, golden, sweat-soaked cinematography during the daylight, community scenes that gives way to something colder and more menacing once night falls and the horror sets in. Coogler and his cinematographer clearly thought hard about how light itself could carry meaning here, and it shows in almost every frame.

What really elevates this above "well-made horror movie" for me is how much it has to say underneath the genre trappings... about ownership, about what it means to build something of your own in a world actively working against you and about the cost of trying to outrun where you came from. The vampires aren't just monsters for the sake of scares... they represent something hungrier and more insidious than that and the film lets you sit with what that means rather than spelling it out too plainly.... eventually I walked out of the theater a little stunned.. because honestly I wasn't expecting a horror movie to hit me emotionally the way this one did, and I think that's exactly why it's stuck with me since.

I have watched a lot of action thriller and one thing I noticed is that many of them rely on loud explosions and over the top fight scenes to keep viewers entertained. Carry-On didn't need any of that, Instead it created high suspense by putting an ordinary man into an impossible situation, and for me that made the story feel far more intensed.

The movie followsEthan Kopek (Taron Egerton), a TSA officer working los Angeles international airport on Christmas Eve. Like everyone else he was expecting a routine shift before going home to enjoy the holiday with his pregnant girlfriend Nora Parisi (Sofia Carson).

But everything changed when a mysterious stranger only known as The Traveler (Jason Bateman), contacted him with a terrifying ultimatum. Ethan must allow a dangerous package through the airport security, or people around him will loose their lives starting from Nora.

From that moment every decision Ethan made driven not only by duty but by also his determination to protect his pregnant girlfriend.

What I loved most about this movie is that, it immediately makes you to ask yourself "what would I do if I were in Ethan's position?", it easier to say we'd do the right thing but when the safety of the ones we love is on line, the answer becomes difficult. That dilemma, kept me emotionally invested through out the movie.

Ethan (Taron Egerton) gave a performance that was incredibly believable.He wasn't presented as the fearless hero who knows what to do. He looked scared and confused as an ordinary person would be. Watching him struggle with every decision made me sympathize with him.

I was also impressed with the traveler (Jason Bateman) performance. I'm used to seeing him in a different role, so watching him play such a calm and calculating villain was refreshing. He didn't make dramatic speeches to be intimidating, but his quiet confidence and ability to stay one step ahead created that feeling of unease that lingered throughout the movie.

The Airport also was another beautiful setting I loved. The Airport was very busy and Carry-On took that everyday environment and turned it into a place filled with tension. Knowing that hundreds of innocent passengers had no idea what was going on behind the scene made every moment feel even more intensed.

I also love the pacing, it didn't waste much time. Each scene introduced a new obstacle making it difficult to predict how Ethan will escape without sacrificing another life.

Beyond the suspense, I think the movie also explored themes of responsibility, sacrifice and courage.

If I had my criticism, it would be that few moments made me to suspend my disbelief. Some twists a little too convenient but they weren't enough to take away the overall experience.

If you're looking for a thriller that will keep your heart racing while also making you think about the choice people make under extraordinary pressure, then Carry-On is definitely worth watching.
