¡Hola amigos! El otro día pude ver un film que tenia muchas ganas y también me generaba intriga saber cómo estaría abordado, así que hoy me paso por acá para traerles la reseña acerca de la película de la vida de Robbie Williams caracterizado como un mono: Better Man.

Trama - Plot
Esta historia gira en torno al exitoso cantante pop, Robbie Williams. Nos guía desde su niñez, hasta sus comienzos en la industria musical, su posterior debacle y el resurgimiento de su carrera a un costo bastante elevado que lo llevó a experimentar una vida de excesos que casi termina con su fama en más de un sentido.
This story revolves around the successful pop singer, Robbie Williams. It guides us from his childhood, to his beginnings in the music industry, his subsequent debacle and the resurgence of his career at a rather high cost that led him to experience a life of excess that almost ended his fame in more ways than one.
Reseña - Review
Esta película al estilo biopic tiene el plus de ser bastante original en su planteamiento, creo que a nadie se le hubiera ocurrido hacer una película con su historia de vida, y el salto a la fama, caracterizado como un mono, pero creo que la hizo ver más interesante. Fue rara, pero en el buen sentido.
This biopic style film has the added bonus of being quite original in its approach, I don't think anyone would have thought of making a film with his life story, and the leap to fame, characterized as a monkey, but I think it made it look more interesting. It was weird, but in a good way.
Cuando la empecé a ver me hice la pregunta de ¿qué estoy viendo? Pero al final termine devastada, es que es una historia muy cruda, siento que no intentó tirarse flores o censurar parte de sus falencias, sino que decidió mostrarse tal cual es. Al terminar llegue a la conclusión de que es realmente así cómo se percibe el cantante y por eso decidió hacer esta versión de sí mismo.
When I started watching it I asked myself the question What am I watching? But in the end I ended up devastated, it is a very raw story, I feel that he did not try to throw flowers or censor part of his faults, but decided to show himself as he is. At the end I came to the conclusion that this is really how the singer perceives himself and that's why he decided to do this version of himself.
No soy fan de él, pero sus hits más populares fueron, y todavía lo son, muy escuchados en mi país. Ángel era un tema muy elegido para hacer la entrada de las quinceañeras a su fiesta o para bailar el vals con sus padres. No es un artista que suelo escuchar, por lo que me tomó por sorpresa su historia de vida. No tenía idea de que había sido tan dura y que en más de una ocasión tocó fondo. Por suerte pudo salir y rearmarse como artista y como persona. Sin duda, los precios de la fama pueden ser muy altos.
I am not a fan of his, but his most popular hits were, and still are, very popular in my country. Angels was a popular theme song for the quinceañeras to enter their quinceañera party or to waltz with their parents. He is not an artist I usually listen to, so I was taken by surprise by his life story. I had no idea that it had been so hard and that on more than one occasion he hit rock bottom. Luckily he was able to pull himself out and rebuild himself as an artist and as a person. Without a doubt, the price of fame can be very high.
Lo que más me gustó de la película fue cómo la abordaron, el nivel de producción, las transiciones a las canciones, todo estuvo muy bien construido. La escena de Ángel me destruyó y el acto final fue impresionante, muy sentido y sanador. También me gustó mucho que fuera él el que contará su vida. Muchas de estas películas que salieron en este último tiempo sobre cantantes famosos lo hicieron con ellos ya fallecidos. Así que estuvo bueno conocer todo esto de la mano de su protagonista.
What I liked most about the film was how they approached it, the production level, the transitions to the songs, everything was very well constructed. Angels scene destroyed me and the final act was awesome, very heartfelt and healing. I also really liked that he was the one telling his life story. A lot of these movies that came out recently about famous singers were made with them already deceased. So it was good to know all this from the hand of its protagonist.
Seguro que es una película que no le guste a todo el mundo y que pueda llegar a incomodar en algún momento. Pero me pareció bastante interesante y distinta, y sé que supo ganarse a su público, así como Robbie en su mejor momento. No sé si me parece brillante, pero sí me resultó original. Por lo que se la recomiendo si les gustan las películas de este tipo.
I'm sure it's a movie that not everyone will like, and it might make you uncomfortable at some point. But I found it quite interesting and different, and I know it knew how to win over its audience, just like Robbie at his best. I don't know if I think it's brilliant, but I thought it was original. So I recommend it if you like films of this type.
