  1. Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga || The Start of the Climax@ridgette463d

Looking back at the time I first watched Blue Exorcist's anime adaptation, I was pretty hyped to finish them all, especially since I knew it was currently airing the latest season at that time. However, last Saturday when I finally finished another season of it, I somehow felt unhappy. Not unhappy because of how it turned out, but unhappy because I know that after I finish its next season I will wait for months or most possibly years again for the next arc to be adapted. Also, I already caught up with its manga so that kinda added to my unhappiness because I'll be waiting for its update, but anyway I know it will be worth it because things are getting heated up.

Backstories and characters are slowly getting unraveled and the emotions are gradually getting higher. So before I get fully consumed with those, allow me to share my review on its fourth season, the Beyond the Snow Saga.

    About the Anime

    IMG_20250401_190304.jpg

Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga (Ao no Exorcist: Yuki no Hate-hen) is is a shounen anime that premiered in the fall last year. This anime series is a sequel to its third season—Shimane Illuminati Saga. This season aired from October 6, 2024, to December 22, 2024. Same with the previous season, it's also animated by Studio VOLN. It still has 12 episodes which were the adaptation of chapters 69 to 99 of its manga.

    IMG_20250401_184449.jpg

After the incident in Inari City, the Order now realized the biggest threat that humanity would face would be no other than the Illuminati organization. Even though they contained the opening of an artificial Gehenna gate, still the pollution it caused was considerably alarming. Lower demons became wild and various incidents regarding them continued to increase. With the rise of those demonic activities, the need for exorcists became higher and that's why the Order decided to make the Exorcist Certification Exam earlier than expected.

    IMG_20250401_184507.jpg

To aid them with that change, the Vatican HQ sent one of their powerful exorcist—Lewin Light also known as Lightning—to True Cross Academy to be one of their cram school teacher. Drawn with his prowess and expertise, Suguro asks to be his apprentice. However, later on, he realizes that behind Lightning's easygoing facade, a sinister one lurks. Determined to unravel the mystery of the Blue Night, and unconventional as he is, he's willing to use any way of extracting the truth, even if it means sacrificing something or someone in the process.

    IMG_20250401_184607.jpg

On the other hand, internal turmoil is brewing between the Okumura brothers. With the disappearance of Shura, the brothers were tasked to locate her, however, even though they're together, the rift still became apparent. With all the unsaid feelings and repressed emotions, it would be soon when things would blow out. The coldness will dominate in their hearts, but a new flame will emerge but it won't be warm anymore for it will certainly burn anything that comes in its way.

    IMG_20250401_184628.jpg

I have no major qualms about this season, for I definitely enjoyed it. Compared to its previous season, the plot here is more solid and at the same time more fast-paced. The drama, action and lore were getting interesting, and the way it slowly built up those conflicting emotions was brilliant for me. Also, I was really anticipating Yukio's POV since there are a lot of foreshadowing about him in the prior season. I know how he'll end up, but still, I'm curious about how they'll adapt his side in anime.

    IMG_20250401_184726.jpg

I came across some reviews about this season, and for them it was kinda rushed—but I don't know because for me it doesn't feel that way. I'm not that fond of dragging scenes that would usually be just for the emotional build-up—which at some point—became unnecessary and boring to watch. Maybe it's because I already know what will happen next so I'm not that interested with filler scenes, but yeah, I wouldn't deny that it was fast-paced. Of 'course there's that betrayal again, but this time the betrayal gets closer—so if you want to know who it is (it was quite obvious tho), then you really need to try watching this season.

    IMG_20250401_184752.jpg

As for its visuals, I was pleased that Studio VOLN made it better now. It wasn't the perfect art style, but it was much nicer than the previous season. The art style and character design kinda look messed up last season, so seeing how it fared now; I'm genuinely happy. However, the animation still is not that consistent. The early episodes' animation was okayish—like it's on the borderline of good and bad—but I was surprised and awed with how it turned out in the last episodes. The confrontation and internal duel were animated decently well, so it was really a satisfying watch.

    IMG_20250401_184810.jpg

Moving on from that, its soundtrack was just...fine. The opening song wasn't sung by UVERworld anymore, but nevertheless it's still a decent opening tho its tune isn't much to my liking. The ending song however was another thing because I like its tune! It's just laidback, but it's nice to hear! It often caught me off guard because just when things get heavy and sinister in the episode, it suddenly plays signaling that the episode had ended. The vibes it gives off is entirely different from the mood that most of its episodes emanate, but still, it is a nice way to end each episode. Also, I really feel the need to praise Lightning VA. He voiced his character's outgoingness and eccentricity accurately, and usual the other VAs also did well!

    IMG_20250401_184834.jpg

Overall, this season was definitely a solid 9/10. I know the story is getting heavy and some changes in character behavior may potentially confuse especially the non-manga reader, but trust me—cliché as it seems—everything happens for a reason. This season's end is the start of an important progression of its main plot, so if you're up for a supernatural anime with interesting lore, action and drama then this is the sign! Start watching Blue Exorcist now and be sure to get up until this season— where tales beyond the snow get unraveled.

So before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—

  2. Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga@seki1467d

It's quite sad when the whole anime world is tune into one show. It gathers and stockpiles the views, taking control during that particular anime season and remains in control until another show comes in and still the top position back. It happens quite usually and it's what we have been seeing with Solo Leveling this anime season. It's flashy Graphics and wonderful fight scenes have drawn people's views away from other shows. Not minding if the show is in probably the greatest arc which is the turning point of the full story.

Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga

*** ### Plot > Starting from the end of the beyond the snow saga. The world is put in chaos as everyone is now aware of the existence of demons. Yukio Okumura joins the Illuminati and Rin Okumura takes up on Mephisto's offer, learning about his mother, Satan, and the most classified secret by the Vatican. The secret of the Blue Night. *** It's a sad thing when a show doesn't get its flowers because of another show doing way too well, and I felt this pain sadly while watching this season of Blue Exorcist. The blue night saga doesn't have much fight scenes, to be exact blue exorcist really isn't of the action genre yet where it lacks in flashy battles, it makes for it in lore, plot and story telling. And this arc had these factors in excess..

We follow Rin as he goes back in time and learns everything. Watching his mum grow up and the existence of Satan was particular satisfying because this is one of the greatest wonders and questions about the show. In the past we were given only a sneak peak of their mom through a flashback by Shiro Fujimoto but now we understand her character clearly. untitled.gif We also get to understand Satan and the lore about him particular to this show. It's quite a comedic tale but it works well. Another secret that was led bare in this arc was the true purpose of the True Cross Academy. I did have my personal views and beliefs about it but it seems I was wrong. untitled.gif The Blue Night is something that has been aura farmed for quite some time in the anime and I'm glad it came out as great as it did. It was shocking how such a world shaking even the birth of Rin and Yukio was and it was emotionally fulfilling to see how Rin reacted to it. untitled.gif It's clear that this season wasn't one meant for fighting, a turning arc yes, but still a preparation for the final or at least second to final saga. We've learned the truth about the Illuminati, the world has learned the truth about demons, and Rin has finally accepted and some-what tamed his demon heart. untitled.gif At this point in the story everybody has had their own minor issues and arc and I think the next one would be about the Shiemi and her position in the Grigori. The last episode of the Blue Night Saga aired on Sunday last week and since then it's just had me wanting more. untitled.gif If you haven't gotten on this season yet. Solo Leveling is ending tomorrow so you have enough of a reason to watch this😍

  3. Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga || The Rise of Another Demon@ridgette475d

Have you been betrayed before? Well, I'm not necessarily talking only about the big betrayals that possibly ruined your career and forced you to change life plans, but even those small betrayals that made you lose trust. If you did, then I know this season will really resonate well with you. Last week after finishing a sci-fi anime series, I started watching season 3 of Blue Exorcist. I somehow forgot what happened next Kyoto arc, for it has been years since I read the manga. That's why I'm quite excited about what will happen next, but my excitement dissipates the moment I know what arc will it be.

    IMG_20250320_225027.jpg

It's the least favorite arc that I've read before. It wasn't a bad arc, however, I don't have a high tolerance for tear-jerking moments and annoying villains. So before I lose control and spoil badly, I'm gonna share with you all a brief peek at what happened to the Okumura brothers and their classmates before and a bit during the Shimane Illuminati incident.

    About the Anime

    IMG_20250320_225047.jpg

Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga (Ao no Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati-hen) is is a shounen anime that premiered in the winter last year. This anime series is a sequel to its second season and the same as its previous season, it aired on January 7 also but this time it's 2024 and the airing lasted until March 24, 2024. However, unlike its previous seasons which were animated by A1 Pictures, there's been a change in the studio that handles it. Now it was animated by Studio VOLN. It still consists of 12 episodes which are now the adaptation of chapters 38 to 68 of its manga.

    IMG_20250320_225112.jpg

In this season, it somehow gave us a brief peek of Rin's life when he's not at cram school. That change of setting was of 'course related to the unfolding of another dilemma which now involves humans getting the ability to see demons that lurk in the mortal world, Assiah. Since they're just normal humans with no trauma involved to strengthen their tolerance in seeing those creatures, most of them are terrified to death. Disastrous it seems, Rin still finds these unusual mishaps as an opportunity to make friends, but unlike his older brother, Yukio is burdened with those happenings. The rise of the cases of humans who can see demons became bothersome because ex-wires like him are obligated to help them.

    IMG_20250320_225126.jpg

However, his tiring duties aren't his sole problem because after the Kyoto incident, since then, he's been plagued with uncertain feelings about his newfound power. He kept that awakening a secret—even to his older brother—not knowing that things would get complicated soon. The discovery of the first artificial Gehenna Gate, the attack on the several branches of the True Cross Order, the Illuminati's declaration of war, and abduction of Izumi—all of them happened quickly. With them still in the middle of confusion, another unexpected betrayal happened, but this time it was from someone that really close to them.

    IMG_20250320_225141.jpg

Like I said it wasn't a bad season, it's just that I'm really pissed off with how that betrayer ended up. I don't want to spoil it, but yeah, it's one of the things that somehow confused me way back the time I was really invested in its manga. Its plot this season wasn't that out of the box but it's not preditable either. If I don't know its plot, I wouldn't really notice the subtle foreshadowing from the previous season and expect that betrayal this season. I have no qualms with its pacing because it's just enough to keep me from getting bored or confused. Its end was somehow rushed for me, but still, it's a nice end/teaser for its next season.

    IMG_20250320_225154.jpg

Just to clarify, I don't hate this season because it's badly made, it's just I don't like it because it effectively made me furious with the villains. Unlike the villains in the previous season which weren't that hateful, the moment I saw that villain in this arc, my forgotten hate for him emerged. I never felt repulsed by any other villains before, and seeing him just made me feel like I was about to explode with annoyance. There isn't any fleck of goodness in that villain, so after seeing him, I again look forward to how he will end. He's really a perfect scum of a villain, so there's no remorse in seeing him getting obliterated on his last appearance. I didn't want to spoil, but I couldn't just stay put without sharing the remnants of my agitation.

    IMG_20250320_225207.jpg

Moving from that, I kinda didn't like how their art style changed. I know it's probably because of the change of studios, but I find it quite unsettling—especially Rin's face. Well, the change is not only limited to him, but it's the way his face somehow change that made those changes really noticeable. There are times that their art style is decent, but then there are times they look weird. The closeups were nice, but when it zoomed away, their face structures felt off. Anyway, I know I'm probably just not used to it, and I know that maybe I can get used to it once I proceed to the next season. Contrary to its unsettling change in art style, some improvement in their animation was amazing! In most of the scenes, their movements were now more fluid and I think the quality visuals really improved.

On the other hand, its opening and closing songs were both bangers. The opening song sounds nice, but I guess it's the ending song that hooked me up. I don't know but its tune is still stuck in my mind, especially the first parts of it. It was a wonder why it got stuck in my head because usually, I'm not into laid-back tunes. And maybe it's partly because of the cure chibi visuals convinced me to watch the whole ending part, but that song was certainly the one that hooked me up! Same as the previous season, the VAs did an excellent job in portraying their roles—especially the one that voiced that villain. He definitely made me annoyed, so kudos to him!

    IMG_20250320_225224.jpg

Overall, this season was an 8.9/10 for me. I somehow rated it lower than the previous season not because I don't like the plot or this arc, but because of its art style! They did look mature now, but I missed their old art style. Not that I can't deal with the new one, but they just look so fine in their old art style—or it's just me not used to it. Well, whatever, I'll still proceed with its next season later, so I guess I'll get used to it in no time. So if you haven't watched Blue Exorcist yet, then again I urge you at least try watching it because if I enjoyed it, then maybe you will also!

Before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—

  4. (ESP-ENG) Ao no Exorcist - The Movie Review!@javyeslava.photo477d

    **

Hello friends, good vibes to all.

    **

Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

    Source!

This thing of watching movies without having seen the anime before I may start implementing it even though I wasn't a big fan of this practice at first. I think it's a way to know if an anime is really worth watching and this may be one of those cases. This one in particular has 4 seasons with a fifth currently in progress, it's a pretty extensive anime and having seen the movie I'm telling you it looks pretty good. The good thing, and in part that is my concern when I watch these films, is that this movie can be seen and understood perfectly without the need to have knowledge of this universe; the characters and their contexts are easy to grasp.

The main character of this story is Rin Okumura, a young man who is studying and preparing himself in an academy to become an exorcist for two reasons: to avenge the death of his father and because one day he discovers that he is the biological son of Satan himself, so his aversion has increased. Together with his twin brother, Yukio, they go on missions that are part of the training of this academy. One day, during a millenary festival in the city, a very particular demon appears in the form of a child that has a lot to do with a story that Rin was told when he was younger. The thing is that he should have exorcised him, but he did not, so he is entrusted to take care of him and watch over him.

    Source!

Rin realizes that this little demon is not as bad as many believe and at the same time she may begin to question the veracity of that story. This beyond all the supernatural and adventurous theme of the story also has a load of what friendship, betrayal, revenge and how we can be able to give value to things just by understanding the way of being and the true intentions of others. Usamaro, Rin's name for this little demon, will soon win his trust and heart by understanding once and for all the true story of that tale and what really happened.

The movie is very cool, very entertaining because it is the typical story of the different characters that go to different parts of the city to fight with these demons that are appearing everywhere. This means that there is always something going on in the plot. There is a lot of action, adventure but there is also comedy, those interactions and dialogues that never fail and that give a genuinely funny touch to the different actions that are happening. For me, as the film progresses, it gets better and better because Usamaro's context becomes clearer, which makes empathy begin to emerge, which inevitably makes us connect more with the characters.

The animation is very top notch because it is accompanied by an incredible visual work. I say this because here we see a lot of Japanese folklore, a lot of culture, customs, all these things that make what you see on screen very striking and interesting. And of course, the producer of this is the people at A-1 Pictures, one of the best houses in charge, and just to mention just one thing, Solo Leveling. It's all super fluid, good character design, I don't think anything these people do ever disappoints. When you combine the traditional with an animation to the height the result is spectacular.

If you have already seen this anime you will know what you are going to find, in case you haven't, the truth is that we are facing something very good. Soon I will start watching this anime in full because I really wanted to after this film. You don't need to have seen anything to understand, it's a good option to immerse yourself in this universe. It lasts less than an hour and a half. Highly recommended. I leave the trailer here.

Finally, I'm back with this series again and like I felt while watching its first season, my excitement is still high even though I tried to lower it a notch by watching another anime and distracting myself with my school requirements. It somehow lowered a little, but the moment I watched its first episode and saw the Okumura brothers back in action, ahhhhhh I barely couldn't contain my excitement again.

    IMG_20250311_194435.jpg

Also, I'm really looking forward to seeing Mephisto again (which unfortunately took time lol) because I kinda missed his cute aesthetic and cool demeanor. I don't know but I really find gray characters attractive, and Mephisto is definitely one of them. So before I can't stop babbling about how attractive and husbando material Mephisto is, let's join the Okumura brothers as they get themselves involved in the incident that's bound to test the weight of their resolve in Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga.

    About the Anime

    IMG_20250311_194522.jpg

Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga (Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen) is a shounen anime that premiered in the winter of 2017. This anime series is a sequel to its first season and it aired from January 7, 2017, to March 25, 2017. Like its first season, it was animated by A-1 Pictures, but this time it's only 12 episodes that were an adaptation of volumes 5 to 9, chapter 34 of its manga. The story still revolves around the life of Rin, but this time, things have been complicated since his true identity has been revealed. It is important to note that episodes 16-25 in season one aren't canon—meaning they won't affect the plot at all—and that means his classmates were still at the stage where they feared and hated him for being the son of Satan.

    IMG_20250311_194535.jpg

However, with the agreement sealed in the Vatican, Rin was granted another chance not to be exorcised, but of 'course there were conditions—one was that he would not show his flame to the public and the second was that he needed to pass the exorcist exam in the next 6 months. They were tough conditions, but it was a must for him to keep on living. However, those conditions weren't only his problem, for his classmates—who were mostly victims of Blue Night—still resented him. Being the son of Satan is indeed tough if you're among exorcists who have a lifelong grudge against Satan, yet they need to set that aside because a more concerning situation appears. The left eye of the Impure King was stolen and an unexpected betrayal happened!

    IMG_20250311_194601.jpg

Further, an attempt was made to as well steal the other one, and with that, the higher-ups decided to deploy the exwires to investigate the stealing incident and also to uncover the mystery behind the action of the traitor who stole it. Even though they were forced to cooperate, the rift between Rin and his classmates is still as evident as it was, but he won't give up on them. With Shura, he tirelessly trains to control his flame, and along the way he somehow learns it. But the catch is, at what cost?

    IMG_20250311_194624.jpg

I love how this season ended up because honestly, the feelings I felt upon watching the end episode are the same as what I felt at the end chapter of the Kyoto arc. I was bracing myself for some dark sneak peek or foreshadowing at the end, but they ended it the usual heartwarming way. It's not a bad end because considering how things will turn out in the later sequels, I guess it's good they ended it that way. Also, the emotions here are much more raw and they resonate more with me. The way they used the introspective tone in narration was probably one of the things that made it relatable for me. Unlike season one's plot which focused more on the unfolding of the events in Rin's life, this season is more character-driven.

    IMG_20250311_194638.jpg

It's nice to watch that they're gradually letting the viewers know not only the POVs of the main characters but also the supporting ones. There are really subtle foreshadowing in their POVs that in the later part of the plot will be relevant. Moreover, there are dialogues that we thought were just there to enhance the emotional impact of the scenes, but in truth, they are part of something that will be later on revealed in the next sequels. If you pay attention to them, of 'course you won't be caught off guard by the character improvements that will manifest soon. So much for that, I'm also impressed how they're able to insert the emotional flashbacks without really disrupting the emotions that are high in those scenes. They aren't long flashbacks that lasted for many episodes—they're just enough to sate some of your curiosities and yearning for backstory.

    IMG_20250311_194651.jpg

As for its visuals, this season's animation is much more pleasing to look at. The movement of the characters is more fluid and the way they animated those fight scenes was something else. If season one's action scenes kept me, this one kept me and got me really hooked up. The action scenes in this sequel are more well executed. The art style and character design compared to the previous season, look softer. It's not bad, but I kinda liked how they look in its first season or maybe I got used to it so it kinda felt off when there's a subtle change in their designs. Anyway, they still look good so it's not hard to overlook that little change in their style.

    IMG_20250311_194702.jpg

Moving on from that, this season's soundtrack is quite toned down. I guess they wanted to shift the focus more onto the dialogues so they kinda made the sound less conspicuous. Also, this tuning down made me notice how effectively the voice actors portrayed their characters. I don't know but I find Mephisto's voice this season more pleasing to hear—or maybe just because he had less screen time so I'm more absorbed and keen when it's his screen time. Ok, ok, so much for him, the voices of other characters were also nice to hear. I somehow didn't notice how good they were in season one so I guess it's high time to appreciate them.

    IMG_20250311_194720.jpg

Overall, my rating for this anime is still 9/10. This season may be shorter than the previous one, but like the first season, I like how it turned out. I was kinda hesitant whether I would like this one because I accidentally read some negative reviews about it, but it turns out, our perceptions are really different. I'm glad that it stayed true to the flow of the story this time without adding parts that would confuse the viewers especially those who haven't read the manga. Also, like the previous season, I still enjoyed the entirety of it and I wouldn't mind rewatching this season if I finished its later sequels. So if you're looking for an engaging supernatural anime series with a nice sequel, then you better try Blue Exorcist then later watch its sequel Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga.

Before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—

I couldn't forget the time I first read its manga because it was in my online class during the height of the pandemic. I was bored at that time because I didn't really connect well with online classes. Even though I'm a great introvert, being confined 24/7 in our house just doesn't sit well with me. So to keep myself from snoozing, I just opened another tab and scrolled through my FB feed. While scrolling through it, I came across the updated cover photo of my otaku schoolmate. It really looks cool—a boy with a katana and a megane with a gun—ahhhh the megane immediately caught my eye! Without wasting time, I immediately searched for its title and that's the day I started reading its manga.

    IMG_20250304_223633.jpg

And yesterday, I just finished watching its first season. Up until now, I'm still quite hyped about it because it really felt satisfying that I finally got to see how the first parts of its story got adapted, and with that, I'm thrilled to share with you my review about it. So be with me as we take a peek at the first part of Rin and Yukio's journey toward discovery and acceptance of their true nature in Blue Exorcist.

    About the Anime

    IMG_20250304_223712.jpg

Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) is a shounen anime that first premiered in the spring of 2011. This action and supernatural anime series first aired from April 17, 2011, to October 2, 2011, and was animated by A-1 Pictures. Its first season consisted of 25 episodes that revolved around school and mythology which really hooked me up. It already had more than a couple of anime sequels but for now, I'll focus on its first season which was based on the earlier parts of its manga written and illustrated by Kazue Katou.

    IMG_20250304_223740.jpg

Not all twins are alike and Rin and Yukio are one of them. Although they were both raised in the same way, the differences in them were evident. Yukio, the younger brother, was the courteous and talented one. He excels in almost everything he does and he's known for his calm and respectable demeanor. However, Rin, the older brother, was the opposite. He's far from the perfect child Yukio for it seems trouble and violence are always on his tail. He easily loses control of his emotions and he's often at the center of trouble, in short—he's a problem child—and because of that he dropped out of school.

    IMG_20250304_223831.jpg

Everything was at its usual pace—with Yukio achieving something, Rin getting into a job then later losing it because of something careless he did and so on—but that night something unusual happened. The guy he beat up earlier that day came back to him in revenge, but it seemed there was something different with him. It turned out that guy was possessed by a demon, and thankfully Shiro, his foster father, saved Rin in a nick of time. However, it was too late for him to conceal the truth that came out when Rin burst into blue flames. Unwillingly, Shiro revealed the truth of Rin's nature—that he wasn't a mere human at all, but a son of the demon among all demons—Satan.

    IMG_20250304_223917.jpg

Now that the truth is out, it's not only the trouble that's after him but the demons as well. He certainly can't process everything immediately, so he spited Shiro for hiding that from him, and with that slightest wavering of Shiro's resolve, Satan used it to take over him. Using Shiro's body, Satan tried to convince his son to side with him, but with the last ounce of his will, Shiro sacrificed his life to protect Rin. After mourning for his Shiro's death, Rin decided to take the path that demons like him aren't supposed to take—he decided to be an exorcist who'll kick Satan's ass!

    IMG_20250304_223930.jpg

I was indeed not disappointed with my decision to watch it. Until now my mind has been reeling with thoughts about it like yes, I already read its manga and I know what will happen next, but there's that certain newfound excitement that I really feel whenever I watch a manga, that I like, getting animated. Seeing them move and hearing their voice was oddly satisfying, and I'm also happy that the plot was adapted well with no major changes. Of 'course, there are those filler scenes that aren't in manga, and also scenes I think they changed a little (or a tad more). Anyway, same as its manga, the plot was promising and I know that in later seasons, the lore about the church and demons will get more interesting.

    IMG_20250304_223949.jpg

The pacing was fine because it didn't feel dragging or rushed which was a good thing because it kept me from being bored or confused. Also, I like that they featured some of the characters' backstories, though for now, not all backstories were revealed during the 25 episodes, anyway it's a nice thing that they didn't leave them out. Further, I like the foreshadowing they gave in the first parts of the anime—especially small details that easily blend in the background. Although I'm already aware of how it'll progress, nevertheless, I still think those details were cool and I really appreciate them.

    IMG_20250304_224001.jpg

As for its visuals, I like how they portrayed and animated Rin's chaotic personality. I think I laughed more when I saw his goofy faces and gestures animated, especially in the earlier parts of the story where things aren't that heavy yet. Also, the colors! I'm really anticipating how they'll portray Mephisto because in the manga his get-ups were both queer and cute so I'm curious about what colors would they give to his clothes, accessories and umbrella and I wasn't disappointed because the colors palette they use on him matches his quirky personality! And ultimately my favorite part—its fighting scenes! Even though its quality wasn't that really great, still I couldn't take my eyes away from those kind of scenes.

    IMG_20250304_224045.jpg

As for its background music—it was indeed emotionally provoking. The background music, even at the beginning of the first episode, already amazed me and gave me goosebumps. For me, how the voices and background music matched perfectly to portray that scene was enthralling. Moreover, the voice actors did well in portraying the personalities of their characters—especially Mephisto~ It sparks joy in my heart and collywobbles in my stomach whenever I hear his Eins, Zwei, Drei!

    IMG_20250304_230956.jpg

Ahhhhhh I know you already know who's my favorite character, so before I could lose myself blabbering about my admiration for him, I'm gonna go back to the stuff about its soundtrack. The opening and ending songs were also fine though it's probably not my taste in music, some of them are fun to listen. The sound effects were utilized and placed well, so I guess all in all, the soundtrack was decent and nice.

    IMG_20250304_224104.jpg

Overall, I rate this anime 9/10! I enjoyed almost the entirety of the hours I watched it, and yes, I'm definitely looking forward to its next which I'll surely watch soon. So if you're looking for an anime series with interesting lore and quirky characters, then stress yourself no more, for this review is your sign to try watching Blue Exorcist.

Before I end this review, I'll share with you its trailer, so—

  7. My Thoughts on Season 3 and 4 of Blue Exorcist@seki1522d

I remember showing genuine interest about this anime last year when I heard it was going to air again. I loved the first season, the movie and the second season. Yet due to some hiccups and to be honest other anime reviews on my list a full season has gone by and another is well on its way and I haven't made a single post about it despite having loads of thoughts on them. So I'll just combine those thoughts on here in an extremely low spoiler review.

    Shimane Illuminati Saga

    ***

After the events of the Kyoto Saga, we're trust into the Shimane Illuminati Arc and the exorcism world is opened up. The Exorcist exams are coming up so Rin and his gang have to choose whi h part of exorcisms they're going to follow and what meister they'll become.

At the same time, the arc turns slightly away from Rin and sheds more light upon Izumo Kamiki. I never really liked her attitude because of the standoffish air she had about her (I really detest that in a character and in real life). Yet this arc sheds light into her past and shows why she acts that way. untitled.gif We get to know the existence of the Illuminati as they're the ones who kidnapped Izumo and they're the major antagonists of this arc and coming arcs.

They're leader, Lucifer, declared war upon the exorcism world and to be honest it was a truly badass scene.

    1000255331.png

This arc was okay though. At least story wise it was beautiful. Izumo was the one character we didn't have any hit of background information on so it was good to at least see and know what's up with her. So story wise it was good. Yet after the story, everything was going downhill. The animation itself was mid, the characters even less and the scenes were enough to make you cringe. untitled.gif This season garnered a rating of about 6.9/10 and I feel that's quite accurate. A bit generous even, considering we've waited over 5 years for this😂😂. Yet all in all it did manage to give a certain vibe of solemnness which was the main point in Izumo's story, and I did love the ending.

    1000254975.jpg

    Beyond The Snow Saga

Fall of 2024 had us with another Blue Exorcist anime. They must have felt bad because of the haitus and decided to let us have two different seasons in the same year.

This involvement of the Illuminati grows deeper and now we're looking into Shura Kirigakure. untitled.gif She's the major eye candy of the rather bland Blue Exorcist and this saga gives us a glimpse of her background, family curse and her involvement with Rin and Yukio's father. untitled.gif This saga doesn't really have much talking points though, so there's nothing much to discuss. I did like the animation though, or rather I liked it more than the Shimane Illuminati Saga.

It showed Rin getting greater control over his flames as he fought Hachirotaro and was overpowering it. untitled.gif The one ick I had was Yukio and his growing inferiority complex to Rin which later bubbled up and exploded in The Blue Night Saga that is airing now. untitled.gif All in all, it seems that this arc was just a buildup arc for The Blue Night Saga so it had just one major plot and little to no subplots or differing incentives. I give this one an 8 out of 10.

1000255316.jpg I can't make a review about The Blue Night Saga as it's still airing but I officially hate Yukio now so that's saying something. Regardless I'm still impressed with the storyline, so there's that. I'll wait to see what Kazue Kato has planned for it...

So these are my thoughts on the last 2 seasons of Blue Exorcist. What about you? Have you watched any of these seasons? Or have you watched or heard about the anime at all

  8. Ao no Exorcist | Blue Exorcist Review [ENG-ESP]@rosana6626d

Hello, friends of The Anime Realm! I'm glad to be with you once again. This time I want to tell you a little bit about a series that was recommended to me and that I don't regret having started watching a few months ago. It is Ao no Exorcist (Blue Exorcist), an anime that is currently airing in its fourth season of supernatural, action and dark fantasy genre that gives us a very interesting and dynamic story, in my opinion.

¡Hola, amigos de The Anime Realm!

    Source

This anime derived from the manga of the same name tells the story of the Okumura siblings. Rin and Yukio are twins adopted by a priest with exorcism skills in the local parish. One day the brothers discover that they are Satan's children and that he wants to take them to Hell, where they are supposed to belong. After the death of their adoptive father, Rin acquires the demonic sword Kurikara that generates blue flames, as well as fangs and a tail. On the other hand, it is discovered that his brother Yukio is an exorcist trained since childhood by their earthly father.

Rin then goes to the Vera Cruz academy of exorcists, of which his brother was already a member, and thus begin the adventures that will lead them through paths of action, learning and discoveries in the company of new friends with diverse skills who share an interest in becoming demon exterminators due to their own relevant motivations.

    Source

The first season is basically about the beginnings at the exorcist school, getting to know each other better and better in order to form a good working team. The young squad must learn about the world of demons and are gradually subjected to lessons and tests to hone their skills. In the meantime, friendships are formed, and of course there is a touch of humor in the midst of the important missions and challenges they have collectively and personally.

The second season, known as the Arc of the Impure King, I liked it a lot because the apprentice exorcists are forced to take the step to the next level, facing really strong threats that help to forge their character. I also liked the fact that this arc took us to another city and therefore we got to know other very interesting scenarios and stories.

In the third season things get very serious when the commander of a powerful organization is determined to bring to the scene none other than Satan himself in order to unite the world of humans with the underworld, creating chaos. The team must prove that they have the ability to outwit this great threat, especially Rin.

  10. Blue Exorcist Movie 1: The Memories we would Never Forget💙@seki11397d

They say one way to know a series is absolutely good or when it had a major impact in your life is when after a long time you watch a movie of it and you get teary eyed seeing those characters again. That's how I felt watching this movie😭, mind you although I wrote a review of the series recently it has actually been close to a year since I watched the anime. Honestly I wouldn't have taken a trip down such a nostalgic lane if not for @wittyzell and I blame her for my current countenance 😭.

    EoEo5nvDHnUht8Gw4ryE7E9nS23HoHWmGygWc5fXjaGo3xSgiSRM3P8oRKvot13tG7P.webp

    Plot

On a mission to exorcise a demon train in Kyoto and restore the barrier that protects their city from demons. Rin and his twin brother come across a demon disguised as a human.

This movie is the last animated adaption we have of Kazue Kato's Blue Exorcist. It was a total success at least by my standards.

    EoEo5nvDHnUht8Gw4ryE7E9nS23HoHWmGygWc5fXjaGo3xSgiSRM3P8oRKvot13tG7P.webp

    What I liked

    • The graphics Normally Blue exorcist graphics was normal enough to be overlooked but now it was good enough to be noticed. God it was like I was in a cinema or something 🤧.

    • The meaning behind the movie. This movie had a specific serene topic it addressed. With a demon that was once forgotten and it's powers. Plus it being the last animated edition of the blue exorcist animation so far. It would leave a lasting memory in your mind as we wait for Season 3.

    Screenshot_20220910_181311.png

    • The characters In this movie we saw a mix of old and new characters as like other movie. The character of interest would I call him the "main new character"😂😂💔. Cheng-Long Liu he is an upper first class exorcist from the Taiwan district. He seems rather cool headed but to be honest I don't like him😂. I feel he was drawn too fine or something, I know it was surely for female fan service 😂. Although he did have the best line in the film. An award that Mephisto normally wins.

    Screenshot_20220910_183045.png

No need to make a header of what I disliked cause there was nothing of the sort. The movie was truly a great piece.

I would rate it a 10/10. A nice parting movie for the blue exorcist fandom. Not to say goodbye forever but until we meet again.💙💙

  11. Blue Exorcist Review@seki11408d

This is an anime show really close to my heart🤧. Like you'll never see an anime show with more slutty nuns and badass pastors😂.

    Plot

After finding out that he is the spawn of Satan, Rin Okumura must join the True Cross academy in order to master his abilities and defeat his father.

Of course normally when looking at a plot like this, one can realize how stereotyped it's going to be but that doesn't stop it from being so awesome 😂. Whatever Kazue Kato put in this anime she shouldn't stop. It's really one of my best animes out there.

The anime had 2 Seasons; with Season 1 having 26 episodes and Season 2 having 12. The anime had a nice easy progressive state, with everything unfolding without any hitches or plotholes. This is part of what made the anime so amazing.

    What I liked.

Characters Blue exorcist has many colorful characters, being a Shounen / school life anime makes the character list quite long.

    images (6).jpeg

    Rin Okumura and his classmates

Another good thing about the animes characters is the character development of Rin and Yukio. How Rin grew from being a violent impulsive teenager to a violent impulsive exorcist is really inspiring😂😂😂. Then Yukio's growth from the crybaby to the strong teacher is really nice.

    images (9).jpeg

    Rin and Yukio Okumura

The fan service. What's a good anime without fan service. Now we all know too much fan service would make a show lose it's taste and no fan service at all makes a show lose viewer's except the story is an absolute masterpiece. Blue exorcist has found the solution for the perfect amount of fan service and it was brought by just one character.

    images (10).jpeg Shura Kirigakure

This is Rin's teacher that trains him on the use of his cursed sword. One would think it'll be awkward fighting in bra and bumshorts but Shura does it like a boss.

    Things I didn't like.

The animation. They tried to cover it up😂. With the flashy lights and cool sounds, but it was still there. The lights was cool though 😂 and what the anime lacked in sharpness and quality they made up in quantity. To be honest the animation could and should really be overlooked, I just wanted to point it out.

The Haitus The wait for season 3 is killing me😭😭. I can't do this anymore 😢. Apart from these 2, nothing much is there to hate about the anime.

    Rating

I would rate this anime a 8/10. Suitable for people from the age of 13 and above.

    Thanks for reading🤗♥️.

  12. Blue Exorcist - Son of Satan / El Hijo de Satán@kuronokenshi2076d

    Blue_Exorcist_Poster.jpg Source

Demons, Exorcists, Battles and even the sons of Satan, all this is how one could describe the basis of the story of Blue Exorcist, an entertaining supernatural action anime with certain moments of comedy. This anime has two seasons, one in 2011 and the second in 2017 to make a total of 37 episodes, has a somewhat interesting story and a not so common theme to see. Being such a short anime is a good option to see in moments of leisure, I will comment on it as well as its history and personal opinions and some criticism.

    0416a7279ec56b497715d2a00e2b706f514bf69c_hq.gif Source

This anime tells us the story of two twin brothers who are Rin and Yukio Okumura, both of whom turn out to be the sons of Satan but only Rin inherited their powers and demonic flames. In the first episode we are presented with the fact that both are cared for by a father named Shiro who is one of the best and most senior exorcists in the world, after a relatively normal childhood Rin develops and awakens his demonic powers caused so the demons go in search of him to take him back to Satan but Shiro arrives in time to save Rin and take him back to the temple where they live and explain him the truth about his powers and the identity of his real father, after this Satan attacks the temple to get his son and possesses the body of Shiro for it. After a great sacrifice, Rhine decides to write himself a school of exorcists at the Academy of the True Cross with the only purpose of being the best exorcist and defeating his father Satan.

This is where the real adventure begins by showing all the members and classmates of Rin who like him aspire to be the best exorcist for different reasons. They all have different methods of combat ranging from helper demon summoners, sacred verse reciters, to Rin who chooses to be a knight just like Shiro since he fights with a katana that helps him to have control over his demonic strength and form as well as his blue flames. Throughout history we see how Rin's determination, security and control evolve, as well as her relationship and trust with her companions, who at first were suspicious of him because of his relationship with Satan and his dangerous power, but in the end end end up being a united team that helps each other and interpenetrates very well when it comes to fighting. We also have in the anime other demonic characters that help Rin in her path and become quite relevant but with somewhat curious personalities as is the case of Mephisto a demon who is the director of the Academy of the True Cross in Japan.

    443741.jpg Source

One of the few things that can criticize this anime is that in its second season of only 12 chapters instead of making a continuation of the story from where it had concluded in the first season it is decided to make a narrative of a story that happens in the middle of it, a previous adventure at the end trying to explain a part of the story that had not been left unfinished or with gaps in the plot, That's why the second season can be a bit confusing and even opposite to the story of the first one because at the end of the second season the story is at a point where you don't know how to tie it and continue with the story of the first one and it seems that it is not really a canon. Really the history of the same one in good and entertaining but it happens in point of the first one where after a great discovery the confidence of all in Rin disappears and this way the second season begins for at the end Rin to get again the confidence of the group but when returning to the continuity of the first one that confidence does not exist. Leaving aside this criticism, the anime is very good to see with a good story and animation and highly recommended.

  14. Rin Okumura Drawing From Blue Exorcist@artbyclark2781d

This is an anime that I haven't seen in a while, but I enjoyed it when I was watching it. There was another series to this that came out, which I started watching but then fell off for some reason...Not really sure why either. I think I must of had a lot going on in life lol.

I chose to draw this picture because I thought it was kinda funny. I also think it represents Rin's character well. It's very befitting of him. I'd highly recommend checking out the anime Blue Exorcist. See what you think about it. Let me know what you thought about the anime if you've seen it.

    Take care! :)

  18. Anime Review: Blue Exorcist@thatanimesnob2941d

Blue Exorcist was very hyped when it came out, for two reasons. One being the only thing most people care about, the pretty colors. The animation is very good compared to most other anime which are cutting their budgets because they are just making cheap promotions of the source material. The other positive is the very exciting beginning, which promises a lot, only to deliver nothing. In the first two episodes, the protagonist finds out he is the son of the devil, and vows before his foster father's corpse to become the most powerful exorcist and to destroy him with his infernal powers. What follows that awesome premise, has nothing to do with it. He just goes to a school where he is shouting at his brother, reads manga, complains about homework, sleeps in class, fails in all tests, and then hits the beach so he can loaf around. His commitment to the cause is so strong, it's heart-breaking.

If you look past its initial hook, you just get yet another shonen with a yet another team of edgy teenagers, ghost busting monsters. The concept is very close to D.Gray Man or Soul Eater if you take out all the effort from the script. There is nothing special about the setting and how people and monsters interact with each other. The demons are not summoned because of human grief, the characters are not fusing their powers through teamwork, and heaven is just a place full of angels. Good luck making things interesting when the concept is bare bones.

And not only it’s bare bones, it also makes no sense. I mean, they summon monsters by biting they fingers like in Naruto, or draw summoning circles on the ground like in Full Metal Alchemist. Why are they called exorcists when they are summoning demons? How are the fanatic paladins supposed to be Christians when they want to use Rin, who is full of the devil’s power? And why is a half naked bimbo able to make holy water by chanting when she never prayed to God? Why do you even need to chant anything in order to banish a monster when a simple sword slash is just as effective? And the best part is that they can’t sanctify their own school, because it will drive away their own demons. As a result, the school is constantly being attacked by fiends, and there is no protection against that. The defenses of Hogwarts say hello. My point is, these are definitely not exorcists. But then again Naruto wasn’t really about ninjas either; so down to it, this is all some lame excuse to call the characters something when they can be called anything else just as easily. Like Ao no Ninja or Ao no Summoner.

Even if there was an interesting concept that could rival the complexity of something like A Certain Magical Index the show would still not be interesting because it has a lot less action than it has school comedy, making it one hell of a boring fighting shonen.

Also, it’s not a good comedy, since the jokes are pretty average stuff you can find in pretty much any anime.

And although it’s normal for fighting shonen to start light and humorous at first before they become heavy on action and drama later on, in this case, it never happens because the show does not last long enough to get to that serious part. I am not against all this boring training they are going through for most of the show, but it doesn’t feel anywhere as significant as the first episodes and doesn’t even have a pay-off.

Also, as cool as the animation may be, the same cannot be said about the artwork. There is no theme in the setting. Soul Eater had weird suns and moons, D.Gray Man had a gothic feeling. What is the theme of this world? Looks great but feels generic.

The same thing can be said about the characters who are all so average. If I describe the protagonist as dumb, bored, with a dark side that comes out when he is in danger and makes him OP, I am basically describing 95% of all protagonists. The same can be said about the other characters, which you have seen hundreds of times before.

    • His brother Yukio is a dull four-eyes, who offers nothing to the overall plot other than a complaining brother.
    • Shiemi is the archetypical frail girl and token platonic girlfriend of the show. Being a girl in shounen, she is typically a useless damsel in distress everybody is after. So ok, she also is the healer of the group but that is only something that helps AFTER the battle is over. Beyond that she is as useless as Sakura from Naruto.
    • There are also some other students in a school for exorcists but they also feel completely flat as personalities as well; I find nothing special in the entire cast. Many of them are in fact fujoshi bait cardboards.

Furthermore, you don’t even care about them right away. You will never bother to think “yeah, that is an interesting character”, which happens in all successful shonen. You just see delinquent males, damsels in distress, or big busted bimbos.

Not to mention the cardinal sin of shonen, which is when they are catching up to the manga and then have to resort to filler episodes. In this show it is even worse because the adaptation came out way too soon. Half of the show is dead time and the rest of it, is boring training sessions.

So down to it, we have two great episodes, followed by dull characters, a story that barely matters, subpar humor, and lots of fillers. But the colors are pretty, so who cares?

  22. Amaimon from Blue Exorcist | Speed Drawing | Time Lapse | Art by Clark@artbyclark3088d

Alright everyone, I'm back again! I hope all is well and you're doing great!

Yesterday I uploaded a picture of Mephisto Pheles, so you KNOW I had to upload a picture of one of his brothers. That brother chosen is Amaimon.

Amaimon seems somewhat heartless to me, but that makes perfect sense being that he's satans sun and all. He plays around with Rin, fighting him, arguably trying to kill him at times.

I've been talking about Blue Exorcist for days now on here so I think you all get that I enjoy the anime and I apparently really like drawing the characters from it.

Let me know what you think about the artwork. Did I do a good job?

Here's a link to the full process if you'd like to watch.

Here's a picture of the final product. I'm feeling good about how this turned out because when I was drawing it, I thought the end result wouldn't look to good. IMG_2291.JPG

Here's the reference photo I used. The Image was uploaded to Pinterest and there wasn't any additional information on it. I think it's pretty safe to say though that someone else originally drew this. c13f3c38d3fee0344c0c4fae03c253ff.jpg

Hey! I hope your year has been great so far 👍😁 Mines has been good, with some minor issues lol 😅 Today I'm uploading a picture that I drew of Rin, Yukio and Shiro from Blue Exorcist.

I drew this photo because I liked the way that it displays their bonding together. I need to watch the second season that they came out with as well. I started watching a few episodes but then I got sidetracked by life and just stopped watching altogether.

Have you seen this anime? If so, what were your thoughts?

Let me know what you think about the artwork.

  26. Blue Exorcist - review@redanime3208d

The animated series Blue Exorcist is adapted from the manga of Kazue Kato and counts a total of 25 episodes.

    Ao-No-830x468.jpg

    HISTORY :

Humans live in the world of Assiah and demons in the world of Gehenna. Normally, there are no possible interactions between the two worlds, yet some demons still possess creatures in the world of Assiah. The humans who can fight these demons are called Exorcists. Rin Okumura is a boy who carries the curse of being the illegitimate son of Satan. To save him from the demons, his adoptive father sacrifices himself. To avenge the death of his father, but also to prove himself, Rin decides to become Exorcist.

    Blue-Exorcist-ExWire-Friends.jpg

    IMPRESSIONS:

How would you react if one day you learn that you are the son of Satan? This is the terrible situation that happened to Okamura Rin, when one day he started seeing demons. He was then attacked by a demon, claiming that he is the son of the King of Darkness. The Exorcists then have the task of banishing the demons, to achieve it at best, they are trained in the Academy of the True Cross. The story is interesting because Rin wants to become the strongest exorcist to kill Satan. Throughout history we meet new comrades, who make the story even more exciting. For now the main characters are pretty nice and endearing, but the show focuses a little too much on them.

    1347629534.jpg

For now, we still know very little about the secondary characters. However the main character, Rin, was well thought out because he is the son of the most powerful demons, he loves to fight and his own father but also the people around him, wishes his death. Yukio Okumura is his perfect brother, because he is responsible, intelligent but also very charismatic and he can see the demons since his birth. The animation is flawless just like the other animations of studio A-1 Pictures. The character design of Sasaki Keigo (Senkou no Night Raid) is well done because it perfectly complements the personality of the characters. Rin has eyes, teeth and sharp ears, he really looks like a demon. While his brother has a very clean look that gives him a brainy look. The song "Core Pride" by UVERworld (opening) and "Take off" by 2PM are well chosen, although "Core Pride" is not the best song of the UVERworld band. The show offered by this anime is really extraordinary and it is difficult to wait for the next episodes so intrigue is taking. Plus the impression of new bouncing is omnipresent, which I'm sure will make you addicted to this series.

    NOTE : 16/20

    Staff Animation:

Studio: A-1 Pictures (Sora no Woto, Senkô no Night Raid, Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin) Director: Okamura Tensai (Wolf's Rain, Naruto and Princess of the Snow, Darker Than Black Ryûsei no Gemini) Screenwriter: Yamaguchi Ryota (Cutey Honey Flash, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars) Character Design: Sasaki Keigo (Senkou no Night Raid) Music :Sawano Hiroyuki (Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Sengoku Basara, Zombie-Loan)

  30. Ao No Exorcist Anime Review#3@filotasriza33414d

Welcome again to a journey through the animeverse!

Those of you who have read my latest anime review posts know that i have revied only anime of this seazon in order to present the best of the newest not only to anime veterans but to new people interested in! Sometime later i will review oldest one that i think are a ''MUST SEE'' kind of anime for various reasons.

Let's get started with Ao no Exorcist shall we?

Ao no Exorcist is considered an ''old'' anime that aired in 2011 and had 25 episodes but only the 17 of them are the ''real'' ones. What i mean by this is that those 17 episodes follow the manga! For those who dont get i thing of what i said let me clarify that most of the animes are first in the form of manga or somewhat of japanese book! Think of it like Marvel and Dc, first the comic books arived and now we have the movies. Now that you understand let's move forward! As i said the 17 episodes follow the manga and the others are just epidoses that the production created in order the manga to have and end. The reason to which we only have 17 episodes is simply because the manga had not finished yet so the people behind it had to write too.

At January 2017 after the manga artist had made quite of a new part the anime aired again with a second seazon that continues from episode 17. Till now there are 9 episodes of seazon 2 out. Before i start saying about the anime's story i want to tell you than in english the name is Blue Exorcist(you will get it below) and only in the site i watched it the first seazon had a  total of  9,668,248 views  and the second one which still continues  4,451,697 views

That doesnt mean that 9 million people watched it, i watched 9 episodes so 9x1=9views and if i watch the same episode again i believe it counts too but in general it is a popular anime

The story follows Rin Okumura a teen that is seems like all the others ofc with his own attitude! He lives with his father a head priest of a small church that has 4-5 full members under him and his brother Yukio.

Think of the church like a normal one with 4-5 priests nothing too fancy

One day Rin finds out that he can see demon like things and when he tells his father that same day  the demons attack the church. At that time we get to see that they are not just mere priests but Exorcists and fight with all their might the demons! I dont want to spoil what happends during the fight but i will tell you that ( and it is not a spoil, even in the description of the anime you get that info). Rin is the child of Satan! Oh yess you heard me

Satan in order to go tho earth needs a suitable host but no human is, so he sent his own child from human mother while it was a baby with a purpose of when he growns up to possess it and rule over both of the Earth and underworld but he hasnt think of that A priest will take the baby and grow it as of his own so now we have Rin a half human have demon with special powers of blue fire( key figure of his Devil powers)

After that incident Rin and his brother Yukio were sent to a friend of his father that runs the most renowed exorcist school in order for him to train and control his flames. Many things happen as he meets new friends we great backstoryies, forms a team, fight demons and demon kings and other cool things

    Conclusion

In one aspect its not like this is a total different anime, the story is quite simple Devils boy is in earth and Devil try to take earth but his son grow as a human etc etc but we are talking about anime so you can expect some great fights, fun scenes and blood that you can see in movies. It is really enjoyable to watch it and times passes nicely so i suggest you go check it out and as i said the order is season 1 till episode 17 and then season 2, if you still wanna watch after the 17 it is an alternative end not what it going to happend but still its good

My rating would be an 8/10

  31. Netflixing: Blue Exorcist@talanhorne3624d

It's no secret that there's a lot of good anime to be found on Netflix. And, since Toonami is probably never going to get its own channel (thank you very much, Turner corporation), Netflix is quickly becoming the go-to platform for North American anime fans (I don't count Crunchyroll, for obvious reasons).

But one anime you might have not yet tried on Netflix is Blue Exorcist.

This show is often overlooked, but entirely enjoyable as a rip-roaring adventure featuring a group of students who are studying to become exorcists.

Not content to just stand over a possessed person's bed and recite prayers, these exorcists hunt down and destroy their demon quarries with blessed weapons, as well as tame demons who serve as knights and protectors, and also grit, determination, and...um...special prayers that they recite.

Okay, so in some respects they follow the traditional route. But blue exorcist offers up a lot of stuff you won't get from Hollywood or even other anime.

    Let's examine its many aspects:

    The Heroes

Rin and Yukio are twin brothers being raised by monks in a Japanese monastery. Yukio is smart and gifted, and has been accepted to attend the highly prestigious True Cross Academy---a monolithic, Catholic-owned institution that secretly trains some of its students as exorcists.

Rin, on the other hand, is a klutz and a screwup. Unable to get accepted at any school, his only hope is to find menial work, which he inevitably fails to do. The monks all love him, but they've all given up on the idea that he will have a successful life. The only one who can comfort him is his brother, who shows great compassion, but Rin knows he is living in Yukio's shadow.

Until one fateful day when Rin starts seeing strange monsters slinking through the streets. Discovering that these are literal demons, Rin is unprepared to learn, from the priest that raised him, a shocking revelation.

Rin is the son of Satan.

With his demonic powers finally starting to manifest, a war between Earth and Gehenna is about to culminate. The only way to avert crisis is for Rin to attend True Cross Academy and learn the ways of the exorcists. But Yukio is not too keen on the idea, since he has secretly been training as an exorcist for years already.

    The Central Conflict

While Blue Exorcist features an ensemble cast, the focus remains entirely on the twin brothers and the agony of their relationship. Yukio is the perfect exorcist: brave, knowledgeable, and unwavering in his commitment. In the beginning, he is the perfect brother as well, showing love and support to Rin when everyone else doubts. This illusion is quickly shattered, however, when Yukio reveals that he has always known about Rin's true origin and has always hated him for it, and once Rin learns the truth, Yukio decides to drop the act.

Through all the demon hunting and the war-of-the-worlds-style finale, the only real question is this: will Rin get his brother back, or will he lose the one person who even pretended to believe in him? Rin may boast and crow about how he wants to become an exorcist and murder Satan himself, but that's just a backdrop. This show is actually a family drama about winning back someone you've lost forever.

Which may be impossible for our heroes, because Yukio is constantly distracted by all the accolades and responsibilities heaped upon him, as well as the attentions of so many, many girls, leaving his brother to wallow in his failures.

Basically, this is a show about what would happen if Heinz Doofenshmirtz found out he was the antichrist.

    Disney tried to warn us.

    The Supporting Cast

As far as ensemble casts go, Blue Exorcist is neither the best nor the worst. Each supporting character is interesting, well-rounded, and given delicious back stories, but precious little time is dedicated to any of them. The show's narrative always comes back to the twin brothers, which is perhaps a good thing because it keeps the show from being fattened up with filler. Still, it leaves us wanting to know more about some of the other players.

The only supporting character that deserves a personal mention is Johan Faust V

Headmaster of True Cross Academy, he is an accomplished exorcist who quickly reveals himself to be the demon Mephisto. Having supposedly turned his back on the forces of Gehenna long ago, he now works for the church, though perhaps not exclusively. With supernatural powers and a flair for the theatrical, this walking comic relief is only too happy to play both sides of this war, while his true intentions are shrouded in mystery.

    The Breath of Fresh Air

The thing that first attracted me to Blue Exorcist was the fact that it did not shy away from or try to water down its Christian themes.

Which is not to say that it is dogmatically correct. It plays fast and loose with the theological source material (much like Black Butler and a host of other anime), and it portrays the Catholic church as a kind of monolithic world power, akin to what it was in, say, the Middle Ages. But, beyond all that, this is a show that is not ashamed to put its theological source out there. The characters literally believe in God and literally fight Satan. They go to church. They recite Bible passages---real-world Bible passages---in the show as part of their training. They are not afraid to "go there".

So often, in American television, the shows avoid mentioning religion altogether. They dance around the subject, sometimes to comically extreme effect. Blue Exorcist is not an endorsement of Christianity. It's not even very forgiving in its portrayal of Christianity (though not antagonistic towards it, either). But above all else the show is not afraid to portray religion, and it does not apologize for bringing it up, and it does not try to hedge itself against offending anyone.

Honestly, it was refreshing. And I loved it for that most of all.

    Conclusion

Blue Exorcist is a hybrid of your typical "Magical School" anime, with a pinch of "Fighting Brothers" drama but with a deep theological twist. I highly recommend it.

The violence levels are comparable to any of the Shonen Jump anime. I would say it's okay for all teenagers, as well as some of the more intelligent pre-teens.

Though the manga was quite popular in Japan, only one season of the anime was ever made. That season is on Netflix (and yes, also on Crunchyroll), so you can start watching it now.

Plans are being made for a sequel series that will air in 2017. I can tell you that I will be watching that with great interest.

Other entries in the Netflixing series:
