Everyone is talking about Netflix's new anime cyberpunk edgerunners, and there's a reason why. The series is so good it's absurd, making me believe that Netflix really pushes to bring amazing stuff when it comes to animation. I mean, this year has shown us Arcane, Lost Ollie and now cyberpunk edgerunners, giving us a taste of what anime can give in all its expression.
Todo el mundo está hablando del nuevo anime de Netflix cyberpunk edgerunners, y tiene un porqué. La serie es tan buena que es absurdo, haciéndome creer que Netflix realmente se empeña en traer material increíble cuando de animación se trata. Quiero decir, este año nos ha mostrado Arcane, Lost Ollie y ahora cyberpunk edgerunners, dándonos una probada de lo que el anime puede dar en toda su expresión.
When I saw that the anime was going to be released, I thought I had to watch it because it was from Studio Trigger, a studio that I love when it comes to animating anime, but that bothers me when I think of the empty stories they take. However, with Cyberpunk things change, since from chapter 1 they show us a story that despite being cliché in several parts, manages to give the necessary twists and turns and tell them in a more original way, to keep us on the edge of our seat in almost each of the 10 chapters of this series.
"David, a street kid, tries to survive in a dystopian city as violent and corrupt as it is addicted to genetic modification. To stay alive, the teenager becomes a mercenary known as Cyberpunk.". That's the description from Wikipedia and I'd actually rather quote that than do a description myself, as I feel telling more than that might be a spoiler. It's not as if the story is full of plot twists and is told in an innovative way, but it is true that many of the things that happen throughout the series are as unexpected as they are organic, making it almost impossible to stop watching the series until the 10 episodes are over.
Cuando vi que iba a salir el anime pensé que tenía que verlo por ser de Studio Trigger, un estudio que me encanta a la hora de animar anime, pero que me molesta al pensar en las historias tan vacías que se lleva. Sin embargo, con Cyberpunk la cosa cambia, ya que desde el capítulo 1 nos muestran una historia que a pesar de ser cliché en varias partes, logra dar los giros necesarios y contarlos de una forma más original, para así mantenernos al borde del asiento en casi cada uno de los 10 capítulos de esta serie.

No es cómo si la historia esté llena de plot twist y se cuente de una forma innovadora, pero si es cierto que muchas de las cosas que pasan a lo largo de toda la serie son tan inesperada cómo orgánica, haciendo que sea casi imposible dejar de ver la serie hasta que terminan los 10 capítulos.

Al igual que devilman crybaby (también original de Netflix) puede que a primera vista se vea como gore, sexo y ser excesivos solo por ser excesivos, pero la verdad es que va más allá de eso. Pasa de ser un anime que busca ser transgresor y diferente a ser algo pausado, con una historia hermosa y unos personajes realmente entrañables, ya sea por su diseño o por su historia. Cyberpunk edgerunners es una joya que gracias a internet está siendo cada vez más conocida y que estoy seguro de que cualquier amante del anime va a disfrutar con todas sus células.

I've said this many times and I'll keep saying it, Netflix has the ability to do very good things, it already has, and it will keep doing it, but fuck, sometimes it does very horrible things, which is not the case here, because Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is one of the best anime it has ever made, completely refreshing and entertaining, with a very well done story, and the animation, fuck, it's perfect. I found out about it a day before it came out, so I watched it without even knowing what it was about, and I loved it.
I forgot the name of the city, but, anyway, we will be in a super advanced city of the future where cybernetic implants in humans are the most common thing that exists, also along with corruption, in this world we will meet David, a prodigy student who has a very deviant path to follow, because while he may be among the best in the academy where he was, his dream is to become a cyberpunk, or as they are also known, an edgerunner. In this series we will accompany him on the road to fulfill his dream, or as we will be reminded many times, someone else's dream.
Esto lo he dicho muchas veces y lo seguiré diciendo, Netflix tiene la capacidad de hacer cosas muy buenas, ya lo ha hecho, y lo seguirá haciendo, pero joder, a veces hace cosas muy horribles, cosa que no sucede en este caso, pues Cyberpunk: Edgerunners es uno de los mejores animes que ha hecho, completamente refrescante y entretenido, con una historia muy buen hecha, y la animación, joder, es perfecta. Me enteré de se existencia un día antes de que saliera, así que la vi sin ni siquiera saber de qué trataba, y lo amé
Se me olvidó el nombre de la ciudad, pero, en fin, estaremos en una ciudad superavanzada del futuro donde los implantes cibernéticos en los humanos son la cosa más común que existe, asimismo junto a la corrupción, en este mundo conoceremos a David, un estudiante prodigio que tienen un camino muy desviado que recorrer, pues si bien puede estar entre los mejores de la academia donde estuia, su sueño es convertirse en un cyberpunk, o como también son conocidos, en un edgerunner. En esta serie lo acompañaremos en el camino para cumplir su sueño, o como nos lo recordarán muchas veces, el sueño de alguien más.

The story is going to have many twists, too many, and all of them are going to be incredible, just in the first chapter we are going to be suffering because as we can come to expect, David has to make a decision, continue studying at the academy or leave that world to enter the darkness that reigns for the cyberpunks, and it's not going to be easy to see that, it will not be nice to see how David is forced to become something that maybe was what he was born for, maybe it is his destiny, but no one gave him a chance to decide, or at least that's how we can interpret it, because there were so many things that were suggesting him to make a decision that we will never know if it was the best or the worst decision he could make.
Aunque no sabía qué estaba viendo, por lo que no entendía nada, pasé el pirmer capítulo en un estado catatónico donde nada más existía excepto la serie, y es que es una maravilla desde el primer segundo en el que comienza, cosa que es raro, pues tiene demasiados colores, y eso suele hacer que tenga demasiada luz y me causen dolores de cabeza o migraña, pero no, no sucedió, solo ahora que la estoy recordando me doy cuenta de eso.
La historia va a tener muchos giros, demasiados, y todos van a ser increíbles, tan solo en el primer capítulo vamos a estar sufriendo pues como podemos llegar a esperar, David tiene que tomar una decisión, seguir estudiando en la academia o abandonar ese mundo para entrar a la oscuridad que reina para los cyberpunks, y no va a ser fácil ver eso, no será nada bonito ver cómo David se ve forzado a convertirse en algo que quizás fue para lo que nació, quizás es su destindo, pero nadie le dio una oportunidad de decidir, o al menos así lo podemos llegar a interpretar, porque eran tantas cosas que lo estaban sugestionando para que tomara una decisión que nunca sabremos si fue la mejor o la peor decisión que pudo tomar.
One of the things that this series knew how to do very well is to keep us in constant tension between what is happening and what can happen next, this for a simple reason: cyberpsychosis. Cyberpsychosis is a disease that ends up giving people who have many cybernetic implants in the body, so much so that your brain reaches a point where you can not stand it anymore and enters a perpetual state of psychosis and becomes a danger to the world and to herself as a person, I say this because our protagonists will be constantly making improvements, especially David, and it's horrible that wait to see if it happens or not.
One thing I do think the series failed in was the construction of the characters, or at least the way they related to each other, because Lucy is going to be David's bridge between the normal world and his formal entry into the world of cyberpunks, so it is normal or expected that a relationship forms between them, they just lacked something, everything is perfect, ideal, wonderful, wonderful, disastrous, but I don't know, it's as if there was never the possibility of things happening differently, and while there are many things that we will know that justify the situation in which they find themselves, it feels outdated, as if everything is in its own rhythm and never end up fitting. This is not to say that we don't enjoy it, not at all, it's exquisite, only that it could be better if something changed, I don't know what, because I can't even identify it, but something would have to change.
Una de las cosas que esta serie supo hacer muy bien es mantenernos en constante en una infinita tensión entre lo que está pasando y lo que puede suceder después, esto por una simple razón: ciberpsicosis. La ciberpsicosis es una enferdad que le termina dando a las personas que tienen muchos implantes cibernéticos en el cuerpo, tanto así que su cerebro llega a un punto en el que no lo puede soportar más y entra en un estado perpetuo de psicosis y se convierte en un peligro para el mundo y para sí misma como persona, digo esto porque nuestros protagonistas van a estar constantemente haciéndose mejoras, sobre todo David, y es horrible esa espera para er si sucede o no.
Una cosa en la que sí creo que falló la serie fue en la construcción de los personajes, o al menos en la forma en que estos se relacionaron entre sí, pues Lucy va a ser el puente de David entre el mundo normal y su entrada formal al mundo de los cyberpunks, por lo que es normal o esperado que se forma una relación entre ellos, solo que les faltó algo, todo es perfecto, ideal, maravilloso, desastroso, pero no sé, es como si nunca hubiera existido la posibilidad de que las cosas sucedieran de otra forma, y si bien hay muchas cosas que conoceremos que justifican la situación en la que llegan a encontrarse, se siente desfasado, como si todo estuviera en su propio ritmo y no terminaran de encajar nunca. ESto no quiere decir que no lo disfrutemos, para nada, es exquisito, solo que podría ser mejor si algo cambiara, no sé qué, porque ni siquiera lo puedo identificar, pero algo tendría que cambiar.
Watch this series, please, do yourselves this favor. It is one of the best Netflix productions, one of the best anime of the year, and you can't miss it, simply because of that, it has action up to the soup, blood everywhere, which surprised me, it ended up being more bloody than you could ever expect, and believe it or not, it has its special moments where we are teleported to a dimension of feelings and sensations that overcome everything filling us with calm and pleasure. I forgot to mention that it has a lot of nude scenes, and I loved that, at least the way they did it, because it is too common for anime to sexualize their nude scenes, but here they didn't do it, they are just naked people, no double intentions, at least when they are not having sex, but otherwise, they managed to make it look normal something that is normal and very few times they show it as such.
The trailer is a crazy thing, I watched it and I felt like I was watching the trailer of a completely different series. Get ready to live a roller coaster of emotions and situations that will take you to the limit more than once, because with the countless changes that we will experience we will believe that we have reached the limit many times, but no, there will always be a higher limit to reach, it only depends on us if we want to do it or not, and obviously we want to, because if not, then what are we living for?
Vean esta serie, por favor, háganse este favor. Es una de las mejores producciones de Netflix, uno de los mejores animes del año, y no se lo pueden perder, simplemente por eso, tiene acción hasta en la sopa, sangre por doquier, cosa que me sorprendió, terminó siendo más sangriento de lo que se pudiera llegar a esperar, y aunque no lo crean, tiene sus momentos especiales donde nos teletransportan a una dimensión de sentimientos y sensaciones que se sobreponen a todo llenándonos de calma y placer. Olvidé mencionar que tiene una gran cantidad de escenas de desnudos, y amé eso, al menos la forma en que lo hiceron, porque es demasiado común que los animes sexualicen sus escenas de desnudos, pero aquí no lo hicieron, solo son personas desnudas y ya, sin dobles intenciones, al menos cuando no están teniendo sexo, pero de resto, lograron hacer ver normal algo que es normal y muy pocas veces muestran como tal.
EL trailer es una cosa loca, lo vi y sentí que estaba viendo el trailer de una serie completamente diferente. Prepárense para vivir una montaña rusa de emociones y situaciones que los llevarán al límite más de una vez, pues con los contastes cambios que vamos a experimentar creeremos que hemos llegado al límite muchas veces, pero no, siemore va a haber un límite mayor que alcanzar, solo depende de nosotros si queremos hacerlo o no, y obviamente queremos, porque si no, ¿entonces para qué vivimos?
