Hello hivers, an happy Monday to you all! I hope you spent a nice weekend and a quiet start of a new working week. Yesterday, after the dinner, me and my hubby spent a very relaxing couple of hours watching the last episoes of a funny series we liked so much: Doc Martin!

I don't know if it's the same for you, but every time we watch the last episode of a tv series with a many seasons we like so much is a little sad, because we have to say "goodbye" to the characters and stories that kept us company along the time. This was the case.
We found this series searching something nice to watch during this boiling summer. Usually we love to watch thriller/murder tv series, but in this case we read a lot of positive reviews about this medical/comedy one and so we started to watch around one month ago.
Doc Martin is a British medical dramedy tv series created by Dominic Minghella and aired from 2004 to 2022 for 10 seasons. The main character is Dr Martin Ellingham (played by Martin Clunes and inspired by the character of Dr Martin Bamford from the wonderful comedy movie Saving Grace, a movie I loved so much) and he is a very brilliant surgeon in London, but the series started after he develops the haemophobia (the fear of blood, that's really a problem if you are a surgeon!) and so he had to stop with the surgery and start to be a pratictioner in a small Cornish village called Portwenn.
The series tell us about Ellingham's interactions with the local Cornish villagers with many different funny characters. Ellingham is an excellent practitioner, but he is a grumpy man with no social skills and so, at the start, his manner offends many villagers. Along the time the villagers unerstand that even if Martin is a grumpy man with some difficult with the blood, he is also an excellent diagnosticians and also a good man, especially thanks Louisa (played by Caroline Catz), a nice and beautiful teacher who lives in the village.
Along the season we can follow not just the medical events of the villagers, but also the events and the stories of the funny recurring characters like, for example, Bert Large ( at the start he was a plumber, but along the episodes tries and fails many business hoping to become rich in a fast way), his son Al who uses to fall in love with every receptionist of doc Martin and the pharmacist Sally Tishell who become a little obsessed by the doc and she always wear a neckbrace.
There are also some recurring things along the 10 seasons, for example there is always a dog who follow Martin wherever he goes, even if he doesn't like animals, but don't worry, at the end every dog has an happy ending.
Another thing I loved watching this series (it happened to me with other british series too) is a sort of game we use to do with my hubby: where we saw him/her before? This is because we have fun to try to remember in which tv series or movies we saw an actor who is a guest star in a tv series.
I loved this tv series so much and it helped us to spend many funny hours.
