The truth is that I have always liked to watch movies that show us some history, of how those times were, where there was not so much technology, and people survived as they could, with what they had around them, making use of nature, of craftsmanship, in short, that colonial era, nothing like today.
And although I know that this film does not reflect much of this, EMANCIPATION is a story based on the era of slavery, where blacks were subjected by whites, treated as animals, as merchandise, without mercy, without compassion, in which they had to fight to get their precious freedom.
This film is based on the struggle of one man in particular, to obtain his freedom, Peter is a family man, an enslaved man, who is separated from his wife and children, but he, in his desire to return home, will do everything possible to escape, and be reunited with them.
It is a story of survival, of a man who faced everything, showing his intelligence, his strength, courage, all to escape from where he was and discover the way to return home as a free man.
Peter is played by Will Smith, a great actor, there is no doubt that he played a good role, here we can see a wounded man, brave, but at the same time afraid, with the desire to survive, and not die for nothing, he only wanted to return to embrace his children, and be with his wife, a believing man, willing to do anything, trusting that his freedom will come in time.
It should be noted that this story of Peter, is based on real events, and no doubt that is the most interesting thing about it, when talking about the era of slavery, there are many events that marked history, which made today those people who gave their lives, who fought for their freedom, are remembered, and personified, telling us and showing us through this series or movies everything they lived and suffered at that time.
We can know, from beginning to end, everything that the slaves lived and suffered, the pain, the mistreatment, the human cruelty, it has no comparison, a crude reality that for many years these people lived, and that after years of struggle, they managed to escape and regain their precious freedom.
Another detail that stands out is how the director showed us this film in a grayscale, with that low color saturation, where we visualize with greater depth those marks of cruelty and darkness.
It is a film full of drama, suspense, action; it encompasses a little bit of everything, but it certainly grabs you, it is a well told story, with an epic ending, with a rushed but emotional battle, in the fight for their freedom.
I guess the goal here was to reveal this dark and murky past of slavery, a historical reality, which, despite the years, is still remembered, being marked in books, or in this case, in the images of the Civil War of a fugitive slave as Peter was, where there is reflected on his back those scars of his mutilated body, being this considered with a symbol for emancipation.
This film was released recently, on December 9, it has duration of two hours, perhaps for some it seemed a little long, and however, it has raw scenes, which shows us the level of evil of human beings.
Will Smith's role was transcendental, as well as the other characters, who also played a great role, not to mention the scenery and costumes, all with the intention of reflecting every detail lived at that time.
I liked it. Well, as I said, I like this kind of stories, to know a little more of this historical past, especially this era of slavery, I do not say it is one of the best, but it is passable, it has a good plot.
I recommend it: I think it is worth watching it for a while; it is a story that keeps you entertained.

La verdad siempre me ha gustado mirar películas que nos muestran algo de historia, de cómo eran aquellas épocas, donde no existía tanta tecnología, y las personas sobrevivían como podían, con lo que tenían a su alrededor, haciendo uso de la naturaleza, de lo artesanal, en fin esa época colonial, nada así a la actualidad.
Y aunque sé que esta película no refleja mucho esto, EMANCIPACIÓN es una historia basada en la época de la esclavitud, donde los negros eran sometidos por los blancos, tratados como animales, como mercancía, sin piedad, sin compasión, en el que ellos debieron luchar para conseguir su apreciada libertad.
Esta película se basa en la lucha de un hombre en particular, por obtener su libertad, Peter es un padre de familia, un hombre esclavizado, el cual es separado de su esposa e hijos, pero él, en su deseo por volver a casa, hará todo lo posible por escapar, y reencontrarse de nuevo con ellos.
Es una historia de supervivencia, de un hombre que se enfrentó a todo, mostrando su inteligencia, su fuerza, valor, todo por huir de donde se encontraba y descubrir la manera de regresar a casa siendo un hombre libre.
Peter es personificado por Will Smith, un gran actor, no hay duda que hizo un buen papel, aquí podemos ver a un hombre herido, valiente, pero a la vez con miedo, con el deseo de sobrevivir, y no morir por nada, solo quería volver a abrazar a sus hijos, y estar con su esposa, un hombre creyente, dispuesto a todo, confiando en que su libertad llegara en su momento.
Cabe resaltar que esta historia de Peter, es basada en hechos reales, y no cabe duda que es lo más interesante de la misma, cuando se habla de la época de la esclavitud, son muchos los sucesos que marcaron historia, que hicieron que hoy en día esas personas que dieron su vida, que lucharon por su libertad, sean recordados, y personificados, contándonos y mostrándonos a través de esta serie o películas todo lo que vivieron y sufrieron en ese entonces.
Podemos conocer, desde principio a fin, todo lo que vivían y sufrían los esclavos, el dolor, el maltrato, la crueldad humana, no tiene comparación, una cruda realidad que por muchos años estas personas vivieron, y que luego de años de lucha, lograron escapar y recuperar su apreciada libertad.
Otro detalle que destaca es como el director nos mostró esta película en una escala de grises, con esa baja saturación de color, donde visualizamos con mayor profundidad esas marcas de crueldad y oscuridad.
Es un film lleno de drama, suspenso, acción; engloba de todo un poco, pero que sin duda te atrapa, es una historia bien relatada, con un final épico, con una batalla apresurada pero emotiva, en la lucha por su libertad.
Supongo que el objetivo aquí fue revelar este pasado oscuro y turbio de la esclavitud, una realidad histórica, que, a pesar de los años, aún se recuerda, quedando marcado en los libros, o en este caso, en las imágenes de la Guerra Civil de un esclavo fugitivo como lo fue Peter, donde allí se refleja en su espalda esas cicatrices de su cuerpo mutilado, siendo esto considerado con un símbolo por la emancipación.
Esta película fue estrenada hace poco, el 9 de diciembre, tiene una duración de dos horas, quizás para algunos les pareció un poco larga, sin embargo, cuenta con escenas crudas, que nos muestra el nivel de maldad del ser humano.
El papel de Will Smith fue transcendental, al igual que los demás personajes, que también hicieron un gran papel, sin dejar de mencionar la escenografía, y la vestimenta, todo con la intención de reflejar cada detalle vivida en aquella época.
Me gusto. Bueno, como dije, me gusta este tipo de historias, conocer un poco más de este pasado histórico, sobre todo esta época de la esclavitud, no digo que sea una de las mejores, pero es pasable, cuenta con un buen argumento.
La recomiendo: si pienso que vale la pena mirarla un rato, es una historia que te mantiene allí entretenido.
