  1. Fist Of Fury — My Favourite Bruce Lee Movie@kemmyb1583d

I was inducted into Kung Fu action movies, thanks to my brothers, who were fascinated by them as children. Whenever they had control of the video player and remote, it meant the whole house must watch Kung Fu movies. That was how they got me interested in Bruce Lee, one of the greatest martial arts fighters, according to them.

The first film of Bruce Lee that I watched was The Big Boss (1971) and I admired how he refused to be pushed into drug making. He stood up for those who had no voice and dismantled the criminal operation of the 'big boss'.

After that introduction, I was captivated. I wouldn't shut up about Bruce Lee. What's more, he was so handsome and I kind of had a crush on him! 😝

Due to my keen interest and much persuasion on my part, my siblings and I put some money together and rented some of Bruce Lee's movies that were available in the video rental shop. We rented Fist Of Fury (1972), Way Of The Dragon (1972) and Game Of Death (1978) for the weekend. These were old movies and we did not mind that some of them were in black and white.

After watching these movies and excitedly talking about asking the video rental shop for Bruce Lee's recent movies, my Dad dampened our excitement by informing us that the martial artist we worshipped was already dead! There were no more Kung Fu movies by Bruce Lee to look forward to.

I remember being very sad that night. So I watched the Fist Of Fury again and again because it incorporated a bit of romance. The other movies showed Bruce Lee all serious, fighting and defeating the bad guys. But Fist Of Fury showed a soft side of him —he had a love interest in the film (and I am a hopeless romantic, sorry 😝)

While rewatching Fist Of Fury that weekend on my own since it's a rental and we had to return it, I used it to mourn Bruce Lee in my own way. I felt death had acted unfairly, lol.

Bruce Lee was a fine actor and I see how his fighting skills and style has influenced modern combats and Asian films. For me, Jet Li and Jackie Chan movies cannot compare.

Do you watch martial arts movies? What is your favourite Bruce Lee movie?

Thank you for visiting my blog.

On the occasion of this week's 49th anniversary of the premiere of the film "Fury Punch", also known as "Oriental Fury", I would like to honor and remember one of the most famous, important, original and influential characters in history with this small review. I am referring to the great, unique and incomparable, the Master of martial arts Bruce Lee, who with this film marked his success in the cinema and left us a legacy that remains for posterity. We have read a lot about Bruce Lee, we have seen his movies, always full of action and drama, we have seen his videos and since I was a child I remember that it was inevitable to throw kicks and try to imitate his particular style of shouting while fighting. Precursor of the teaching of Kung Fu as a martial art in the American continent, he left us many teachings, he was a sociologist, philosopher, actor and filmmaker. He is undoubtedly the icon of China in the world, if we see a photograph of Bruce, we will see the meaning of Chinese martial artist for the world.

In this excellent film we can recall the war between Japan and China in the years of the Invasion by the Japanese who had subdued the Chinese people and authorities of the time. The events take place in one of the cities controlled by the invaders who murder the historical master Huo Yuanjia and try to subdue the students of his school, but they did not count that their profane acts would unleash the fury of his strongest disciple Chen Zhen played by the incomparable Bruce Lee, who in real life was an athlete of great physical potential and whose training partners said that he really hit very hard. Obviously the film has some exaggerated scenes, but in particular it is my favorite because it involves us in such a way that we end up believing that we can also fight like him hahaha. This work has memorable scenes that immortalized the actor and in which we also observe several of his trademarks, such as the fact of using disguises to camouflage himself and get information from his enemies, such as the telephone company worker who enters the school of his enemies the Japanese to know their facilities and the enigmatic Mr. Susuki who was the head of that evil school; He also disguised himself as an old newspaper seller and as a young cab driver. These are scenes that amuse us to know that he used his wit as well as his strength. Another of the characteristics that predominated in his films was that the protagonist usually died at the end or ended up arrested by the police, implying that acting badly always brings its consequences.

    >Needless to say, we had fun watching our hero fighting with many opponents at once, always alone against all the villains hahaha. And he did it with an impressive speed, also with his well-known use of the Nunchakos, always to defend himself from armed opponents. In Fist of Fury, Bruce performs excellent fights and the epic battle against the Russian Petrov, is simply unforgettable. Finally Chen manages to avenge the death of his master, but he does not manage to defend his school from the traitors and cowardly Japanese who kill him with weapons since in hand-to-hand combat they would never defeat him. That final scene of Bruce jumping with his fury will be remembered throughout history. It doesn't matter if you have seen it many times and if you haven't, I still recommend it.

    Long live Master Bruce Lee!
