[_Cover Image_](https://m.filmaffinity.com/es/movie.php?id=504520)A few days ago I decided to return to this series, which I had seen a long time ago, so long ago that I didn't even remember the series at all, it was as if I saw it for the first time and just like the first time I loved it, who would have thought that a work that tries to teach you something about philosophy could cause so much impact on people, many tend to interpret philosophy as synonymous with boredom (because it focuses technically on the art of thinking), but this can easily be solved with the right elements and philosophy can be applied to practically everything, especially in our daily lives, all those thoughts that thousands of years ago, believe it or not, are still valid today, all those problems that we have today, perhaps it had already thought of a solution or that doubt you had about the art of thinking, All of those thoughts from thousands of years ago, believe it or not, are still valid today, all those problems that we have nowadays, maybe they already had a solution or that doubt that you had about the world in general, someone else had already asked it, you just don't know it, with Merlí you will learn how to deal with life and its inconveniences, you will know how to face adversities, all through the use of philosophy, maybe you will even change your way of thinking, it can even change your life in the process.
Hace unos días me dispuse a volver esta serie, la cual había visto hace mucho tiempo, tanto tiempo que ni recordaba la serie en absoluto, fue como si la viera por primera vez y justo como la primera vez me encantó a más no poder, quién diría que una obra que trata de que aprendas algo de filosofía podría causar tanto impacto en las personas, muchos suelen interpretar la filosofía como sinónimo de aburrimiento (debido a que se centra técnicamente en el arte de pensar), pero esto fácilmente se puede solucionar con los elementos adecuados y es que la filosofía prácticamente se puede aplicar a todo, sobretodo en nuestra vida diaria, todos aquellos pensamientos de hace miles de años aunque no lo creas aún siguen vigentes hoy en día, todos aquellos problemas que tenemos actualmente quizás ya se le había pensado una solución o aquélla duda que tenías sobre el mundo en general ya otra persona se la había planteado solo que tú no lo sabes, con Merlí aprenderás a cómo lidiar con la vida y con sus inconvenientes, sabrás cómo afrontar las adversidades, todo mediante el uso de la filosofía, quizás hasta también cambies tu forma de pensar, incluso puede cambiar tu vida en el proceso.
Merlí tells us the story of Merlí, a philosophy teacher who will begin to teach at his son's school, who unknowingly will sooner or later change the lives of the students who live there, characterised by using teaching methods that are far from typical, which will end up being captivating for the students, although perhaps many times he will end up causing a variety of problems in the process. During the course of the plot, there are clear references to The Dead Poets Society and The Breakfast Club, even recreating a scene or two. It deals with interesting topics that many people might consider taboo, such as suicide, feeling purposeless, the meaning of life, transsexuality, among many others. Each chapter deals with a specific philosopher, explaining their philosophy and way of thinking and then focusing on the application of these thoughts in everyday life, showing us the usefulness of philosophy in our daily lives.
Merlí nos cuenta la historia de Merlí, valga la redundancia, un profesor de filosofía que comenzará a dar clases en la escuela de su hijo, el cual sin saberlo tarde o temprano cambiará la vida de los alumnos que allí conviven, caracterizándose por usar métodos de enseñanza para nada típicos, que terminarán resultando cautivantes para los estudiantes, aunque quizás muchas veces termine provocando gran variedad de problemas en el proceso. Se llega a notar durante el transcurso de la trama que hay claras referencias a La sociedad de los poetas muertos y El club de los cinco, hasta recrean alguna que otra escena. Se tratan temas bastante interesantes y que mucha de la gente podría considerar como un tabú, hablan sobre el suicidio, el sentirte sin ningún propósito, el significado de la vida, la transexualidad, entre muchos otros temas. Cada capítulo se trata de un filósofo en específico, donde se explicará su filosofía y forma de pensar para luego enfocarse en la aplicación de dichos pensamientos en la vida cotidiana, mostrándonos así la utilidad de la Filosofía en nuestra vida diaria.
The most interesting and best done are the characters of this series, the development of characters is simply wonderful, the work to have three seasons makes it possible to carry out this easily because as the episodes pass we see how they evolve each and every one of the characters, we see how they improve or worsen as people and due to what are due to the changes they experience, simply each and every one of the characters are not the same at the end of the series, this causes that we have characters that practically feel like real, causing that we even get fond of each of them, maybe sometimes we get annoyed with them because of how they act but it is simple human behaviour, nobody is perfect and nobody can act in a perfect way. The constant evolution is noticeable and it is due to the problems that the characters face, some quite strong themes such as agoraphobia or the addiction to marijuana (it is never mentioned that it is bad, only that in excess in certain people it can cause a bad reaction), they also show the lack of money as a problem to deal with in a highly consumerist society nowadays.
Lo más interesante y mejor hecho son los personajes de esta serie, el desarrollo de personajes es simplemente maravilloso, la obra al tener tres temporadas hace que se pueda llevar a cabo esto fácilmente porque conforme pasan los episodios vemos cómo evolucionan todos y cada uno de los personajes, vemos cómo mejoran o empeoran como personas y debido a qué se deben los cambios que experimentan, simplemente todos y cada uno de los personajes no son los mismos al finalizar la serie, esto provoca que tengamos personajes que prácticamente se sienten como reales, causando que hasta le agarremos cariño a cada uno de ellos, quizás algunas veces nos molestemos con ellos por como actúan pero es simple comportamiento humano, nadie es perfecto y nadie puede obrar de forma perfecta. La constante evolución se hace notar y es debido a los problemas que se afrontan los personajes, algunos temas bastante fuertes como la agorafobia o la adicción a la marihuana (nunca se llega a mencionar que es mala, sólo que en exceso en ciertas personas puede ocasionar una mala reacción), también muestran la falta de dinero como un problema a tratar en una sociedad actualmente altamente consumista.
During the viewing of this series we can learn many things, an example of this is the story of the little cow told by Merlí to his students, which after hearing it many people tend to dare to do things they had never thought of doing before, we are taught to accept the sexual diversity of other people, teaching above all to think and question everything; you will undoubtedly learn to give answers to all those questions you once asked yourself and never knew how to answer. All the events feel very natural and not at all forced, resulting in a very enjoyable and digestible product for teenagers, perhaps seeking to make many of them interested in a career in philosophy. In conclusion, I could say that this is one of the best series I've seen in my life, although it came out in 2015 all its themes are still valid today which makes it not feel outdated, I totally recommend it as one of those works that you have to see at least once in your life.
Durante la visualización de esta series podemos aprender muchas cosas, un ejemplo de esto es el cuento de la vaquita contado por Merlí a sus alumnos, el cual después de escucharlo muchas personas tienden a atreverse a realizar cosas que nunca antes habían pensado a hacer, se nos enseña a aceptar la diversidad sexual de las demás personas, enseñándo por sobretodo a pensar y poner en duda todo; aprenderás sin lugar a dudas a darle respuesta a todas aquellas preguntas que alguna vez te hiciste y nunca supiste responder. Todos los eventos de sienten muy naturales para nada forzados, resultando un producto muy ameno y digerible para los adolescentes, quizás buscando hacer que muchos de ellos se interesen por la carrera de Filosofía. En conclusión, podría afirmar que esta es una de las mejores series que he visto en mi vida, aunque haya salido por el 2015 todos sus temas siguen vigentes al día de hoy lo que hace que no se sienta anticuada, la recomiendo totalmente como una de esas obras que tienes que ver al menos una vez en tu vida.
