It's a TV show, I understand that, but it is just completely ridiculous in so many ways since this show is kind of like an R-rated teenage drama. I was a teenager for a while and I presume most of you were at some point in your lives as well.

The way that the kids behave and how they live their lives in Euphoria sounds as if it is part political programming and part absolutely silly fiction. I'm not just talking about the over-the-top presentations of how pretty everyone is either.

I recall liking this show a great deal when I first watched it and yes, a lot of it had to do with how often Sydney Sweeney gets naked. I'm going back to watch it again because season 3 just dropped and I had no recollection of what happened in S2 and as I watched all the episodes over the course of 3 days I came to the realization that actually, almost nothing actually did happen other than a bunch of very pretty teens doing anything other than go to school, getting away with it, and then just arguing with adults the entire time.

I also think that the film is trying to pander to the "modern audience" and normalize certain behavior while also not actually coming out and saying that it is a suggestion. Here are a few examples.

• The boys in the film have such "cool" parents as they will invite their girlfriends to stay over and are clearly having sex in the house and the parents are totally cool with that. They will go so far as to walk around the house in revealing outfits. The parents of the girls are aware of this as well and I'm sorry, there are no parents like this and there shouldn't be.

• There is a trans girl in the show, she plays a trans in the show and is one in real life, she's a pretty awesome character actually. But nobody ever refers to this in any way other than a positive way. Look, I don't care about this sort of thing and want everyone to do whatever they want. But this is not how that would be. But then again, if they had subjected "Jules" to some level of bullying or parental disapproval, they likely would have been too preachy about it anyway so maybe it is better they left this one the way they did.

• The fat girl, who is not attractive in a traditional sense is not just accepted but encouraged to continue being that way. This is a body-positivist message that I think is very damaging to teens

• Some of the kids have what appears to be rather unlimited access to drugs and they use them in the houses where I can only presume parents life. These are not kids whose parents don't care about them either. This wouldn't be capable of happening to anyone I have ever known.

• not only are parents cool with their kids drinking alcohol, they give it to them and their visiting friends like this is a completely normal thing to do.

• Lot of the characters, most of whom you would presume are not legal adults considering it is a show about high school (for the most part) have tattoos. Some of the more ridiculous ones have multiple tattoos on their face.

This one kid, named "Ash" is super hardcore even though he is only something like 12 years old. He is meant to be a tough one that is dedicated to the gangster life despite being young, having never attended school, and not having any parental guidance in his life ever. I'm ok with presenting us with unusual things to be afraid of, but a 12 year old that easily kicks the crap out of adults? Sorry, I don't buy it.

There is widespread drug use to the point of glorification and despite not having jobs as far as I can tell the kids who have access seem to have rather unfettered access except for the central character "Rue" played by Zendaya (it's stupid she has a one word name, what are you? Prince or Sting?).

By the time season 2 wraps up even though there has been plenty of drama, nudity, drug use, and violence, not a great deal has actually happened in the overall story. It's amazing how you can really stretch out a story when Sydney Sweeney is stripping down at least once an episode. She is paid nearly $1 million per episode after season 1 where she only made a paltry $44,000 per episode for baring it all.

The last 2 episodes of season 2 revolve around a school play and somehow this disturbed me more than the ridiculous other aspects that are too far-removed from reality. I know that in school plays you have almost no money, and very little actual talent to draw from. Somehow this particular school is able to have Broadway levels of technology involved in their production including perfect set design complete with a revolving stage that only massive theaters actually even have.

The final couple of scenes in the play are incredibly gay and while I don't have a problem with people living this lifestyle, no public school would ever be allowed to put something like that on stage. There's also the question of how people in high school would almost certainly never agree to behave like this on stage in front of an audience. Some parents would be outraged.

It's fiction, I know but maybe I am just more of the kind of person that likes for my fiction to be at least somewhat rooted in reality.

Now, that being said, this is still a very good show and I enjoyed it. Season 3 just dropped a few days ago and I watched the first episode and it was really good as well. It will be interesting to see how they include all the of the high school kids in their different lives seeing as how several years have passed in both real life, and in the timeline of the show.

I'd like to say that they are going to keep it grounded, but I know that isn't going to be the case.

Vi esta serie un par de veces, la última vez fue hace un más, pues sentí una necesidad y un poco de nostalgia por volverla a ver, también porque pensé que quizá podría analizarla desde un punto de vista un poco más maduro o podría desarrollar una opinión diferente de ella ahora. Aunque recordaba la trama general, no dejé de impresionarme con cada cosa que sucedía episodio tras episodio.

I watched this series a couple of times, the last time was one more, because I felt a need and a bit of nostalgia to watch it again, also because I thought that maybe I could analyze it from a little more mature point of view or I could develop a different opinion of it now. Even though I remembered the general plot, I kept being impressed with every single thing that happened episode after episode.

In the universe of euphoria several important themes are exposed such as gender identity, mental problems, family traumas, drug addiction, among others; episode after episode will expose in a more detailed way the life of a character, which will allow us to put together several pieces that will make us understand the context of the story and also allow us to approach and empathize (or hate even more xd) to several characters.

The first season will not only introduce us to Rue's world and her drug problem, but we will also be part of the emergence of her romantic interest with Jules, the new girl in town. From the first moment they met they became very close, Jules is transgender, she is sweet and free-spirited, it was very natural for them to generate a close bond, however, Jules does not agree with Rue continuing to destroy her life consuming drugs and influences her to stop, however, that produces a kind of dependency in the relationship that sooner or later will affect them both.

One of the things I like most about this series is the fact that there is no one completely good, nor completely bad, the approach that we are given in the life of each character allows us to build a personal criterion about each one, although they are as they are. The whole plot is a search for identity for many of the characters, some try to meet the expectations that their families or society demands of them, while others try, on the contrary, to break away from them and discover their essence.

Although there are some typical American teenage stereotypes like Nate, the popular boy and quarterback of the school soccer team, I like that they delve into his family history and show us his anger issues and his toxic relationship with his girlfriend (a popular girl and cheerleader of the team too).

We will also meet other characters like Kat, a girl who always lived insecure for being plus size, however, after an incident she decides to stop hiding and radically changes her look and starts to talk more with boys and go out with them, she no longer wants to fit in so she makes way for a new me, a more confident Kat.

For me, the first season of this series left me with many mixed feelings, all the characters have their own demons and conflicts that they must deal with many times on their own, there are sensitive scenes that left me with my hair standing on end because of how strong they became, especially being a teen series, but personally, I do not consider that it is aimed at an audience under 18 years old.

While the first season was raw, I think the second season is the release and denouement of many issues that kept us in crisis and expectation, of course, does not leave aside the important and sensitive issues such as drugs, sex and violence, but I was pleased to see a significant development in several characters, especially Rue. In this season Rue suffers a strong disappointment that returns her to the well, to drug use, lies and hurts many people she loves, but as the plot progresses she will realize that there are reasons to move forward and that she wants and deserves to live a quiet life with people who value her, which I think is beautiful, especially coming from a character who on more than one occasion said she did not want to continue with her life.

Characters that were important to me in this season was Maddy, who is Nate's ex-girlfriend, she is not a girl who goes unnoticed, she is outgoing and has a very tenacious personality; in this season she moves away from the boy who hurt her for so long and feels very sad and lonely, but she must learn to see herself with the beauty and strength that she tries so hard to project in order to heal and not fall back into that relationship so hard to get back into.

Cassie, one of the most popular girls in school, very sweet and pretty but with a great desire to feel loved, which leads her to betray her best friend and have many despicable attitudes; she is present since the first season, but definitely stands out more in this second one.

And of course, it is also remarkable Lexie, a girl who always lived under the shadow of everyone, especially her sister Cassie, she is introverted, but with a brilliant mind. I love that this season she had a love interest that made her feel accompanied and understood, especially in her project of a play, where she intends to share many stories of her childhood and her circle of friends.

One aspect that no one can miss about Euphoria is its aesthetics, it has a unique visual style. Maybe it's because I'm very detail oriented and my artist's eye notices this kind of things quickly, but almost every scene is very well thought out in terms of lights, colors, planes and contrasts. My favorite scenes are the party scenes because that's when the characters stand out with their makeup and outfits, and in general the setting and the musical section makes you feel like you're on some kind of psychedelic or astral trip. For me it is not at all overwhelming the play of lights or colors, rather I feel that it is an element that complements the plot very well and brings authenticity and style to the series, personally it enriches it and makes it much more enjoyable.

The closing of this story left me satisfied, I almost cried, I'm not going to lie. Accompanying Rue and other characters that orbit in the story and make the series dynamic becomes special, made me feel affection for each of them (well, some more than others who do not deserve anything xd). Zendaya's performance is amazing, Rue is not an easy character to play, she can be explosive, she can be very manipulative and mean, but she is also sensitive and has a sweet heart. My applause for her because she knew how to convey every expression and emotion and fill us with tension.

Euphoria no es una serie que recomendaría a todo el mundo, ni creo que esté hecha para todo tipo de público, pero no importa, en mi caso, la disfruté en las dos ocasiones que decidí verla, y me siento a la expectativa de la tercera temporada que saldrá creo que el año que viene…

Euphoria is not a series I would recommend to everyone, nor do I think it is made for every kind of audience, but it doesn't matter, in my case, I enjoyed it in the two occasions I decided to watch it, and I am looking forward to the third season that will be out I think next year.... The winter was long and even longer which means we were all glued to our TV-screens for the longest of times. I think more than once I had sighed and just put everything away (I really do not like having TV as a main hobby honestly) and was looking for something nice and interesting to binge again.

At some point I got the tip from a friend to watch the series 'Euphoria' because it would be shocking and really something else to watch. Naturally what you always do is hit the good old IMBD first that just looked really promising.

Oke fair enough, maybe I do like to be stuck in the genre for a little bit. But 'Euphoria' is again a whole different story. This is about a girl Rue and her high school friends who are going through the perks of high school. Only oin this series, they just find to be all a little bit more extreme that the average series. Rue has a serious addiction for whatever drug she can get her hands on, her trans friend Jules likes to hook up with older gay guys, her other friend has a secret Only Fans account as a financial dominatrix. And all of this just makes the serie intruiging enough to surely keep watching.

There aren't many shows that come along where I just have to continually tip my hat to the director, actors, sound editor, and writers all at once but this HBO gem is really something else. This is the most wonderfully-crafted show that is basically a work of art, that I have seen in a really long time.

When I first looked at who the main star of this was I nearly skipped the entire thing simply because of her presence and how the only thing I had ever seen her in was a Spiderman film that I didn't particularly care for. Man would have that been a mistake if I had stuck with my gut instict.

You probably recognize her face as well and her name is now simply Zendaya even though her real name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman. I just hope she changed it because her real name is too long and not because she is heading down "nutso road" like so many young actors and actresses have.

Let me tell you this: Her performance in Euphoria is absolutely outstanding and much like Marlon Wayan's performance in Requiem for a Dream, Zendaya totally and completely exceeded my expectations of her in this role that was totally not in her wheelhouse at all.

Now I will say this about Euphoria; it may initially annoy a bunch of people and I thought it would annoy me because it is for the most part a completely impractical teenage-love-story-fantasy that would never happen to kids in the real world. It also could be consider very risqué or perhaps even obscene because there is a ton of nudity and sex in this series and almost all of the people they are portraying in these scenes are meant to be minors.

I'm not going to display any of those images because I don't do NSFW content but trust me, it won't take very long before you encounter it in the series. Also, for anyone that is uptight about girl-on-girl, guy-on-guy, stuff - this won't be for you either. They don't do it in a preachy way like Netflix seems to, but just in a matter-of-fact sort of way.

There is also a ton of drug use in this and this is something else that seemed really impractical to me. These teenagers don't seem to have a lot of parental supervision and are able to effortlessly get their hands on booze, weed, cocaine, heroin, and opiates in a way that really wouldn't happen in the real world. The financial limitations alone would be enough to stand in their way.

Now, cheesy elements aside, I want to talk about how the dialogue - which is something that normally bothers me with teenage-esque dramas, is actually extremely well-written. And above all else, the art-direction and musical direction is purely a work of art. I have Shazam'd at least one song from almost every episode. This is best exhibited in one of the clips someone put together from an episode.

I really didn't think I was going to like this show and there are a lot of people that don't like it but I think that their reasons for feeling this way might be politically or religiously motivated. While far-fetched, the story touches base on the impractical nature of teenage-romance, drug-addiction, family relationships, and the importance of being true to one's self, even at a young age.

Should I watch it?

Unless you are turned off by the VERY explicit subject matter I believe that this is one of the most masterfully-crafted series that I have watched in 2022. I can compare it's directorial excellence only to Better Call Saul and I have never been bored during a single episode. The use of narration to speed things along is used, but it isn't overused like it is in a lot of other series. There also is very little in the way of "filler" material and the 8 episodes per season doesn't ever feel as though they didn't have enough material to actually make it through it. The show focuses mostly on Rue Bennet (Zendaya) but each of the characters has their own story going on and some episodes will focus almost completely on them with Rue playing an outside role. They do a really good job at getting us into the complete mind of each major character in the series by using this tactic.

I believe that everyone should at least give this a shot although I will admit that it will end up being too graphic for a lot of viewers. It certainly isn't something I would be comfortable watching with my parents and for the parents out there, this is not something that you should encourage your kids to watch. There is a bunch of controversy surrounding the series because of this.

I think that many of the actors and actresses in this series will use their performances from Euphoria to move on to greater things and this is especially true for Zendaya. Seriously, she will blow you away with her skills in this show.

Hey hey! What have you been watching lately? Any series or movie discovered that is worth being watched?

Personally, I've never been a fan of watching series just because I don't have the patience to wait one week until a new episode comes out. However, since my boyfriend got a subscription to HBO Max, I changed my perspective a bit and we even watched 2-3 series together, having another one that we started yesterday.

Anyway, when it comes to picking a series to watch, we don't really know what we should pay attention to or which is considered a good or bad one, so we mostly make our choices based on the actors we heard about. But when you get to see a series because one of your favourite actors is in the main role, everything is taken to the next level.

The actor I'm talking about is, no one else but, Zendaya.

I'm that kid who was born before 2000 and my whole youth was spent watching the Disney stars like Zendaya, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and a few more. Anyway, since most likely everyone knows the bad decision Demi and Miley had in their lives almost breaking aggressively the image created in the years they appeared on Disney Channel, I'm happy to see that Zendaya kept her head up even if she had some challenges too.

Not to mention that we are both born on the 1st of September and she's very alike to a friend of mine from the way she looks to the way of thinking and her behaviour. It's impossible not to love her! ❤️

Introduction

The first season of "Euphoria" series was released in 2019 and it's produced by Sam Levinson which is both an actor and filmmaker who adapted the series after an Israeli show with the same name, but where the life of Rue (played by Zendaya), is based on the experience of the producer when he was a drug addict in his late teens.

Even though Rue is the main character of the series, you will notice that her life is well linked to the other people who will become more or less part of her experience while fighting to win the battle against drugs that started when she was a kid and lost her father.

While the first episodes of the first series are mostly based on introducing all characters and their lives which are very different, from being a drug addict to becoming a transgender, from having some traumas since you were a kid, to the dangers that many American kids are supposed to every day, this series turned out in a very complex scenery that makes you be more aware of the risks of each step you make forward.

Description

The series starts having Rue coming home after she gets out of detoxification that even though it sounds like a good step forward, especially for her mother and sister who used to have lots of fights because of her behaviour and overdoses that brought her close to death for a few times, sooner or later everything will show that it was another wonderful illusion because as long as she doesn't resolve her emotional issues, she won't be able to leave behind this addiction.

At the same time, Jules (played by Hunter Schafer) presents the life of a transgender that has to go through all the depressions battles from a young age stemming from her gender dysphoria which hides her emotional insecurities in another bad habit but which, happily, won't include drugs as well.

Along with the lives of the two girls that pretty soon will become best friends, there are shared the lives of some other students such as Jacob that was traumatized by his father seeing sexual content with him cheating on his mother, with Cassie who even though is a very cute girl, she is very naive and trusts people too quickly, with Fezco that even though is the main drug dealer, his past is also very cruel learning him how to deal with life from an early age, and many more.

Anyway, while the series can be easily categorized as a chaotic life with literally lots of problems coming over even if the previous ones haven't been solved yet, there are plenty of lessons to learn from every single episode. There are even a few declarations shared all around the internet that not only the fans of the series had to take a break after each episode to understand better what they were part of, but also the actors who said that Euphoria is a very difficult and deeply emotional series to watch.

There are only 2 seasons released so far, the first one being mostly focused on the ruined lives of many teenagers with lots of explicit sequences, while the 2nd season will be taken to the next level that will touch your heart differently.

Even the main star of the series, Zendaya, warned the fans of the series about the 2nd season that will be very hard to watch and brutal, which I totally have to agree with, especially after many episodes being ended in tears. Plus, all the warnings have been confirmed after the first episodes which immediately delivered on the promise with many new twists that no one ever thought about but also delicate situations that will show once again how fragile life is.

Opinions

While the first season is mostly based on the tag of mature audience which might turn out a little bit too detailed for the younger ones, the 2nd season was more close to the emotions I had to deal with in the past few years, talking about anxiety, depressions, losing control and mental breakdowns, that we all know it sort of became a list of things which are not missing from the lives of the younger generations but which I do feel like a series like Euphoria could help with the explicit situations the people can get through if they don't learn how to control the things from their heads and hearts.

I'm sure that we all got into that moment in life when you feel completely alone having all your family members and friends confronting you for your behaviour that is actually 100% controlled by the emotions you can't describe in words, so if you know what I'm talking about, hang in there when you will watch Episode 5 from the Season 2 that presents the run and havoc Rue wreaks on the people in her life, which will make the life become a lot messier than it already was.

There's so much pain that it's bubbling to the surface in many people's lives which sometimes makes it feel like it's hard to be alive hoping there is some sort of 'skip' button to that moment, but just as hard as it is to get through the desperate and broken moments in real life, as extremely physically painful was to watch the series.

“The reason I’m an actor is I’m quite an empathetic person and what I often do, I take on a lot of other people’s pain and a lot of other people’s stress and fears and anxieties, as well as my own, and I think [that scene] just allowed me to just kind of release all of that. And I’m very grateful that I’m in a space where I feel comfortable and safe, and with actors and actresses that I’m obviously very close with. After every take, we’re hugging each other, we’re talking through it, we’re embracing, checking in, because obviously, it’s like a war zone.” - Zendaya explained.

Conclusions

Even if it might seem like another teen drama series riding its own shockwaves, Euphoria is a kaleidoscopic study of the younger generations and all the dangers they are supposed to, as well as bullying and emotional traumas that way too few are aware of.

The series is far away from the common shows you are watching a new episode of every week, because it's wacky and insane, serious and emotional, showing in brutal sequences that being a drug addict or abused, not being accepted in society or feeling like you will never see the sun rising on your path, turns out more emotional than expected. It's a series that you can easily watch a few times and still feel like it's not enough.

Considering the mature nature of the show and all the explicit sequences of the drugs and mental breakdowns, I do feel like this shouldn't be watched by people younger than 16 years old even though at the same time it could help some of them to take care better of their lives.

Season 3 is coming

Though, as many emotions are trying me while I'm writing this article, there is also a more exciting thing to announce. Namely, the actors have reunited and are already working on the 3rd season of the series which most likely we'll get to see on the little screens at the beginning of 2023.

The official announcement was made a month ago and there is no trailer ready to see what we should expect from the 3rd season but considering how everything ended in the 2nd season, I'm sure no matter what I will think about, my expectations will be, again, exceeded. And I can't wait for that!

Hola, esta vez me dediqué a ver una serie a la que me pidieron que haga reseña pero no puedo decir que esta serie me guste, realmente abriía que borrar de mi memoria por completo los primeros episodios para poder decir que es buena Euphoria es una serie que trata sobre un grupo de adolescentes que viven su vida al gran estilo de la generación perdida, estas personas no tienen rumbo definido de su vida, no saben si vale la pena vivir o simplemente hecharse a perder. Elliot interpretado por Dominic Fike es el personaje nuevo y un personaje de transición. Para mí Elliot encarna a ese tipo de personas con las que nos topamos alguna vez en nuestra vida, que nos acompañan y que impactan en ella, aunque luego desaparezcan. Es la transición de un estado de cambio y es lo que veremos con él. No era lo que esperábamos, pero sí lo que se necesitaba para que se liberara el punch de la serie.

Elliot played by Dominic Fike is the new character and a transitional character. For me Elliot embodies that type of person that we come across sometime in our life, that we keep company with and that makes an impact on our life, even if they disappear later on. It's the transition from a state of change and that's what we'll see with him. It wasn't what we expected, but it was what was needed for the punch of the series to be released.

JULES (HUNTER SCHAFER)

Jules, Jules, Jules…Es un personaje que aún no entiendo mucho, su historia es fuerte, pero siento que en algún punto se perdió su brillo. Jules, Jules, Jules...She's a character I still don't understand much, her story is strong, but I feel like somewhere along the line she lost her luster. This season for her would be described as, "No one knows what they have, until they lose it." However, she is also a necessary character to Rue's life. ¿Qué se me permite decir aquí? ¡Rayos y centellas! No puedo hacer spoilers pero… en esta temporada se abre la puerta al hogar de Fezco y Ash, éste último continúa siendo un misterio que se llevará a todos por los cuernos y nos romperá el corazón. La historia de ambos es totalmente devastadora e intensa.

What am I allowed to say here, lightning and flashes! I can't do spoilers but... this season opens the door to Fezco and Ash's home, the latter continues to be a mystery that will take everyone by the horns and break our hearts. The story of the two is totally devastating and intense.

COLORES | COLOURS

Me parece necesario resaltar la paleta de colores que acompaña a esta temporada, una paleta más dark que glow. En la primera temporada, la psicodelia, lo brillante, lo vibrante de los colores eran parte de la narrativa pues era el hechizo bajo el que estaban los adolescentes o al menos así nos lo muestra Rue. En esta temporada se desmorona el castillo y se ven las grietas de los personajes. Por eso eso hay más sobriedad en los tonos. Sin embargo, en esta temporada se cae la fantasía, es mucho más dura, mucho más realista y sus colores lo demuestran desde los primeros episodios, fuerte va a suceder. Rue se quiebra y está en un punto donde todos los colores se vuelven oscuros y ahora le tocará redescubrirse nuevamente para buscar luz. Se nota también en la forma de vestir y en el maquillaje de Jules y Maddy, por allí se nos envía el mensaje de que las cosas han cambiado. Pero me llama mucho la atención cómo desentona en colores Cassie, obviamente es adrede, ella todavía tiene un camino largo por recorrer. Los colores en ella nos hacen pensar que todavía vive en la fantasía (o al menos eso pienso yo).

I think it is necessary to highlight the color palette that accompanies this season, a palette more dark than glow. Rue breaks down and is at a point where all the colors become dark and now it will be her turn to rediscover herself again to look for light. It's also noticeable in the way Jules and Maddy, dresses and in her makeup, that's where the message is sent to us that things have changed. But I am very struck by the way Cassie is off-color, obviously it is deliberate, she still has a long way to go. The colors in her make us think that she still lives in fantasy (or at least that's what I think).

EL ARTE

Uno de los principales ganchos de la serie es el nivel artístico de la producción, en esta ocasión a pesar de dejar de lado el brillo, lo volvieron a lograr con las introducciones de los episodios. Las referencias artísticas, la utilería, la recreación de pinturas e íconos del arte son una joya maestra. Si hicieran solo una composición de los visuales, yo sería una fiel fan siempre. Más allá de ser una amante de las artes, me parece de carácter valioso porque introduce en los jóvenes de la nueva generación esta información, una manera de educar culturalmente al público y de acercarlo a sensaciones y emociones a través de imágenes.

THE ART

One of the main hooks of the series is the artistic level of the production, this time despite leaving aside the brightness, they did it again with the introductions of the episodes. The artistic references, the props, the recreation of paintings and art icons are a masterpiece. If they did just a composite of the visuals, I would be a loyal fan forever. Beyond being a lover of the arts, I find it valuable because it introduces young people of the new generation to this information, a way to culturally educate the public and bring them closer to sensations and emotions through images.

En esta temporada la música se intensificó y nos acompañó a volumen mucho más alto. De por sí el soundtrack de la serie es una belleza, en esta temporada hay mucha más nostalgia, mucho más silencio y caos para escucharla.

Creo que hasta acá dejaré mi reseña, quise hacer un video de esta temporada, pero las palabras no me salían correctamente, mi corazón se rompió unas 3 veces viendo todo el drama. Así que preferí ordenar mejor mi mente e ideas y plasmarlas aquí porque Euphoria me ha ganado el corazón por completo. Y en mi escala de puntuación del 1 al 10, es un 20. Oggi faccio uno strappo alla regola e vi porto in dote la seconda parte di una recensione di cui vi ho già fornito un primo stralcio. In uno degli episodi la vediamo crollare e vediamo quanto possa essere violenta la vita di chi, come la madre e la sorella, devono fare i conti con una ragazza fuori controllo e totalmente risucchiata nel tunnel della droga come Rue. Oggetti distrutti, casa devastata, urla, minacce, tentativi di suicidio, fughe, furti ed una lunga sequela di situazioni spiacevoli ed ineluttabili che la porteranno a compiere atti che la vera Rue non avrebbe mai compiuto. Eh si, la vera Rue. Ma chi è Rue? Chi è la vera Rue? La ragazza che leggeva un dolce commiato al defunto padre, quella con le treccine lunghe e la voce rotta ed un fulgido futuro davanti a se oppure la ragazza dallo sguardo assento, la direzione incerta ed il passo cadente sotto l'effetto di ogni droga possibile? Forse la vera Rue è quella che vediamo nel finale, quella sfaccettata, quella ricordata da Lexi ma anche quella sperata da Lexi. Una ragazza che deve prendere atto degli orrori della sua vita, di quelli da lei perpretrati e di quelli su di lei caduti senza alcuna colpa, e che, preso atto di quanto avvenuto possa fare quello step successivo, quello step successivo che possa condurla laddove la sua amica Lexi è riuscita ad arrivare attraverso un show strepitoso che per tanti versi mi ha ricordato quel capolavoro poco conosciuto della cinematografia chiamato Synecdoche con uno strepitoso Philipp Seymour Hoffman. Rue dovrà perdonarsi e perdonare, chiedere scusa ed un giorno offrire l'altra guancia, nel tentativo e nella speranza di essere quella brava persona che mai è riuscita ad essere dopo la morte del padre. Alì potrà guidarla, perdonarla, correggerla, fungere da esempio ma sarà Rue a doversi fare strada nel deserto di una vita senza padre e senza più la fame di vivere. Quella stessa fame di vivere che ha fregato Cassie e Cal. La prima ha scommesso tutto sull'amore, sulla passione travolgente con l'unico ragazzo con cui non avrebbe mai dovuto intrattenersi, quel Nate che rappresentava il frutto proibito e l'unico ostacolo fra Cassie e la sua amica del cuore Maddie. Cassie ha rischiato e ha perso. Tutto. Cal ha vuotato il sacco. E' scappato ma si è liberato. O almeno cosi credeva. Vivere di cuore e per il cuore è importante ma non si può pensare di farlo senza pagare prima un prezzo, prima le conseguenze degli errori precedenti.

Il 16 giugno 2019, quando andò in onda il pilot di Euphoria non avrei mai immaginato che di lì a 3 anni Euphoria sarebbe entrata nella ristrettissima lista delle serie tv che avrei considerato dei cult, dei must to watch, dei capolavori. Oggi, a quasi 3 anni di distanza, 2 stagioni dopo, a 18 episodi di distanza (di cui 2 episodi speciali clamorosi) ed a pochi giorni dal finale della seconda stagione, sono qui a dirvi che non solo Euphoria è diventato un caposaldo della serialità contemporanea ma che è uno show che andrebbe visto, rivisto, studiato e sviscerato in ogni suo frammento. Oggi voglio trasmettervi quello che la seconda stagione ha per me rappresentato ma prima, per darvi una maggiore completezza dell'evoluzione della serie HBO vi rimando ai 3 post precedenti in cui vi ho parlato dello show di Sam Levinson.

La seconda stagione di Euphoria ha sublimato quello che la prima aveva evidenziato, aggiungendo elementi stilistici e narrativi che hanno arricchito ulteriormente lo show. A queste aggiunte sono seguitate numerose sperimentazioni visive e narrative che hanno fatto di Euphoria un prodotto ancora più unico ed ancora più imprescindibile. L'aspetto rischioso delle sperimentazioni è duplice. Da un lato c'è lo spauracchio della mancata comprensione da parte del pubblico rispetto a quanto mostrato. Dall'altro vi è il rischio di fallire miseramente nella messa a terra di un'idea magari brillante. Come dirà uno dei personaggi nell'episodio finale: "l'arte deve essere pericolosa". Quanto è vero! E quanto è stata pericolosa l'arte di Sam Levinson? Molto, se è vero che l'autore ha toccato corde che non è sempre facile toccare. Il lutto, l'amore, il tradimento, la passione, il destino, la vita in tutte le sue forme, fluendo aldilà dei generi e delle convenzioni come se nulla a questo mondo non avesse avuto una storia millenaria alle spalle. Levinson ha saputo reinventare il mondo partendo dall'oggi e valorizzando il domani, mettendo sempre al centro l'essere umano e le sue turbolenze, sempre uguali a se stesse da migliaia di anni ma sempre nuove per ognuno di noi. Rue è una bambina senza padre, una bambina priva di punti di riferimento, una bambina che nel diventare donna si è inceppata come si incepperebbe una zip che incrocia un filo di lano mentre tenta di chiudersi. Rue è una tossica che tossica è soprattutto per la sua famiglia. Rue è il male assoluto per chi le sta intorno. Rue è il male assoluto per se stessa. Ma Rue è anche, e soprattutto, una ragazza in cerca di una ragione per vivere, lottare, sognare, sperare, costruire. Chi sarà in grado di accompagnarla in questa affannosa ricerca? Ali? La mamma? Today, almost 3 years later, 2 seasons later, 18 episodes later (including 2 sensational special episodes) and just a few days after the finale of the second season, I'm here to tell you that not only has Euphoria become a cornerstone of contemporary seriality, but it's a show that should be seen, reviewed, studied and explored in every fragment. The second season of Euphoria sublimated what the first had highlighted, adding stylistic and narrative elements that further enriched the show. These additions were followed by numerous visual and narrative experiments that made Euphoria an even more unique and even more indispensable product. The risky aspect of experimentation is twofold. On the one hand, there is the threat of the public's lack of understanding of what is shown. On the other, there is the risk of failing miserably in the grounding of a possibly brilliant idea. As one of the characters will say in the final episode: "art must be dangerous". How true! And how dangerous was Sam Levinson's art? A lot, if it is true that the author has touched chords that are not always easy to touch. Mourning, love, betrayal, passion, destiny, life in all its forms, flowing beyond genres and conventions as if nothing in this world did not have a millenary history behind it. Levinson has been able to reinvent the world starting from today and enhancing tomorrow, always putting at the center the human being and his turbulences, always the same for thousands of years but always new for each of us. Rue is a little girl without a father, a little girl without reference points, a little girl who, in becoming a woman, is jammed like a zipper that crosses a thread of wool while trying to close. Rue is an addict who is addicted above all to her family. Rue is absolute evil to those around her. Rue is absolute evil to herself. But Rue is also, and above all, a girl in search of a reason to live, to fight, to dream, to hope, to build. Who will be able to accompany her in this frantic search? Ali? Her mother? Her sister? I was waiting for HBO to wrap up Euphoria's second season so I could get a much fuller appreciation of this wacky and unusual teen series. After a crashing ending and a few surprises that eclipsed my expectations, I have finally put together a complete opinion (or so I think) about Rue, Jules and the rest of the addictive characters in this story: Drugs, sex, lies, obsessions, traumas and more drugs… What can I tell him? It's Euphoria, not a Disney series.

First of all hallelujah! HBO finally listened to our pleas and decided to launch this second season of Euphoria, which for one thing or another was delayed by 2 years. Now, on the eve of a third part that has already been confirmed, I have to admit mainly that the aforementioned television series has changed completely; the first thing I noticed was that: it is not the same Euphoria that first impressed and mesmerized me. It is the same atmosphere, but a little more superficial, with some of the themes that we had not seen before, such as: love triangles, betrayal between friends and the need to be loved. All wrapped up in a parody that, without a doubt, is pure tragicomedy.

Ahora, en vísperas de una tercera parte que ya se confirmó, he de admitir principalmente que mencionada serie de televisión cambió completamente; lo primero que noté fue eso: no es la misma Euphoria que me impresionó e hipnotizó por primera vez. Es la misma atmosfera, pero un poco más superficial, con algunos de los temas que no habíamos visto antes como por ejemplo: los triángulos amorosos, la traición entre amigos y la necesidad de ser amados. Todo envuelto en una parodia que, sin duda, es tragicomedia pura.

Although (for what we had already seen the series) Euphoria has the reputation of being a crude and somewhat surreal story, for this new facet these elements are sharpened: the story itself, as a whole internally, transmutes like those television shows that break the "Fourth Wall".

Si bien (para los que ya habíamos visto la serie) Euphoria tiene la fama de ser una historia cruda y algo surrealista, para esta nueva faceta dichos elementos se agudizan: la propia historia, en su conjunto interno, transmuta como esos shows televisivos que rompen la “Cuarta Pared”.

That Euphoria intensifies in a beautiful but destructive world, exciting but heartbreaking... a lot of confusion for 8 episodes full of madness that, like the first season, lead to a tragic outcome.

Let's start with the good, and I'll mention the direction in full: Saint Levinson is a genius for transforming decadent atmospheres into beautiful settings. Drugs, pain and obsession are revealed among precious elements, such as roses or paintings, makeup or changing lights... Levinson's intention is to object to the gloomy self-destructive thinking of an addict, after all, an addiction can be considered something beautiful for those who suffer from it: a trance, a dangerous but attractive disconnection, a symbolic placidity. Both the camera and the characters interact within their own fiction; a story within another story, an artistic landscape that reveals the evident trauma of the protagonists.

Empecemos por lo bueno, y de lleno mencionaré la dirección: San Levinson es un genio para transformar atmosferas decadentes en hermosos escenarios. Las drogas, el dolor y la obsesión se revelan entre elementos preciosos, como rosas o pinturas, maquillajes o luces cambiantes… la intención de Levinson es objetar lo tétrico en el autodestructivo pensamiento de un adicto, después de todo, una adicción puede considerarse algo bello para quien la padece: un transe, una desconexión peligrosa pero atractiva, una placidez simbólica. She soon sees her life reflected in the vision of Lexi (Maude Apatow), her best friend, and destructive love at the hands of Jules (Hunter Schafer). Here's a branch with Nate (Jacob Elordi) in the background, not to mention the unsuccessful friendship between Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Kat's (Barbie Ferreira) emotional insecurity and Fezco's terrible conviction ( Angus Cloud). It is a drama without midpoints, but it definitely absorbs the saddest side of adolescence.

I think that Levinson, in his eagerness to get away from some clichés, has deviously fallen into others. The love triangles take on some prominence, replacing that essence that catapulted the series in the first season: the emotional debacles. Some characters became dependent, that is, their psychological traits were triggered by the intervention of a need derived from another character; see the case of Cassie, who, in her need to be loved, is designed without disrupting that painful past that led her to lose part of her adolescence.

That's the problem with this season: the characters lose a bit of their essence, and the events are divided into parallel plots that collide only in the last two episodes. I think Levinson focused more on effects and not causes, leaving many of the elements that kept the story moving. I felt that he lacked more to tell, we will see how everything goes in the following season.

I think the wait was worth it, and that, despite some setbacks, the second season satisfactorily met my expectations. On this occasion the message is intensified: there is no addiction that does not contemplate the gates of death, and I am not only referring to drugs. That is the substantial problem: at some point, we cling to something that destroys us, but that we are unable to let go of...

¡Por supuesto! Creo que se los dije la primera vez que hice una reseña sobre esta historia: Euphoria es diferente, quizás grotesca, cruda, repleta de vulgaridades jajaja… pero diferente al fin. Today I bring you my first impressions of the second season of Euphoria, a series that since its premiere in 2019 has caused a sea of emotions and reactions in the public. The second season of the highly acclaimed HBO Max series is finally on air, and this time it promises to bring us twice as many emotions as in the first season. On January 10, and so far we have only been able to see 2 chapters, however, in this new installment of the series we can see that they introduce us to the characters through raw and dramatic stories. From the first chapter, everything is handed to us on a silver platter, being a first episode that leaves us all speechless. Without a doubt, this new season is loaded with a lot of drama and many problems, many scenes of nostalgia and that will make us empathize with the characters.

Really, this type of teenage series that shows us everything that happens in high school and exposes us in such a crude and brutal way all these problems that exist and that nobody wants to talk about, seems positive to me, despite the fact that there were requests to remove the series from the HBO Max network for the explicit way in which they expose the tragic part, the abuses, and excesses in this period of time where everyone searches for their inner voice and tries to decipher their personality and place in the world, they decided not to do it and continue betting on the project. Which reminds me a lot of the "13 reasons why" series, which was also quite criticized, however, from my point of view, this type of series shows us the reality of many cases, such as childhood or the past of a person can affect and even destroy their future. Many times we overlook the true message behind series as strong as this, so I recommend that you pay attention to it and enjoy it.

January is one of the most awaited months of the year because of the premieres that we have been waiting for a long time and because there is one or two other things still to be released that are also creating a lot of expectation. This time we are going to talk about the beginning of the second season of Euphoria, the format here is different because they release a weekly chapter so we will only talk about the first one and then we will wait until the end of the season and do the complete review.

This series is back after a long wait, I think it's a little more than 2 years, to continue telling us the stories of a group of teenagers with certain problems, quite a few I would say. The first thing I want to make clear is that Euphoria is NOT THE TYPICAL TEEN SERIES that everyone thinks it is, the truth is that it is much deeper and serious and therefore it is not a bad idea for those who have not seen it yet, to decide to do so. But to what we came to, the first chapter and what we can expect from the rest of the season:

When we start watching this first episode we immediately understand that this second season will be much darker and problematic than the previous one and partly because we already know the context of almost all the characters that make it up; in fact here we will see the story of one of them that was missing that information and that everything points to be one of the key pieces of the story.

Before we continue, let's summarize what Euphoria is about for those who haven't seen it: basically and as I said it is a series that touches on issues and problems that surround the teenagers of generation Z, of course, they are very common things but here we will see how these things affect them specifically. What kind of problems are we talking about? - Well, mental illnesses like depression and anxiety, promiscuity, drug addiction, alcoholism, sexual identity problems (homosexual and transgender people), pedophilia, family problems, etc. As you can see, this is a long list of topics that are very delicate to deal with and here they do it in the best possible way.

Having clarified the picture a bit, let's continue. Many times watching the beginning of a season we can, more or less, deduce what the rest of the episodes will be like and after having seen it there are a couple of things that I am sure will not be missing. One of them is the dramatic intensity, this episode took it almost all that way, that drama that is intrinsic to each character we continue to see and will be a pillar in this second season.

The second thing is the way the stories are told. Euphoria has a magic that lies in the way in which we get to know the facts surrounding the plot, it is a script that is so well written that honestly catches you by how real and genuine it can be and that is something that is noticeable in this first episode, the way in which we are introduced to this "new" character really is a 10/10.

And third but not least is the cinematography. I believe, without fear of exaggeration or being wrong, that this is one of the strongest points of this series. The subtlety with which the scenes are recorded, the colors, the photography itself, the shots, the sequences and transitions make this a high quality product, like few others in the industry. So much so that it was leaked that this series was recorded with a 35mm KODAK that was out of circulation and brought back just for this project, hence the magnificent shots and lighting that we appreciate. Anyway, after having seen this first episode it is clear to me that the line we were seeing in the previous season is maintained and I think it could be a little bit more difficult. All those problems that were presented to us at the beginning of the stories are still intact and without apparent solutions, so this second part is going to be in charge of making them more entrenched so that the viewer understands how serious they are.

A great series which we will have to wait patiently every Sunday to see one more piece and understand the puzzle of emotions that all these young people are going through. At the end of the season we will meet again to see if everything said here was fulfilled or if on the contrary the plot had a drastic turn and surprised us all. By the way, it is available on HBO.

Out of curiosity, I decided to purchase a subscription to HBO. I've heard a lot of positive things about their series or movies, so I wanted to find out how much truth there is. So far we started watching "Vinyl", on the same day we also finished the 1st season of "Euphoria". A series that promised to be a great title, and ultimately let me down a lot. I will say yes, the first half was great, but with each episode of the second half it got worse and worse. If I had to compare it to anything, it would be "Sex Education". The series, like "Euphoria", tells about the difficult problems of adolescents or people who have become adults, but without artificial powdering of reality or polishing certain topics. I say this both from the perspective of the entire season and individual aspects, most of which are more favorable for Netflix's production. I say individual because there are aspects in which he is doing better.

The main character is 17-year-old Rue Bennett played by the charming and talented Zendaya, known for her role as M.J in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Malcolm & Marie" (Netflix), "The Greatest Showman" or "Dune", which will soon hit theaters. Rue is addicted to drugs - and we're not talking about the weak like marijuana or amphetamines, but something much thicker. Do you know what George Floyd really died of, contrary to the current narrative in the shitty media? To the fact that he was a walking drugstore and if he got all the drugs out of him, Rue and her friends from school would be in a strong phase for a few days. For example, fentanyl, which also appears in this story, and if the effect after taking it did not differ from reality, then ... Well, I am not surprised that George could not breathe properly. Anyway, the main character has been suffering from various problems since childhood - e.g. panic attacks or other psychological or neurotic conditions (if I made a mistake and gave it a wrong name, I apologize). Like her friends or colleagues - the pressure of the environment or family visible in many different examples (Kat, who was a shy girl through her carcass, quickly discovers her sexuality, or Nate Jacobs, who hides a shy boy who cannot cope with aggression under the alpha male's skin. ), alcoholism in the family (on the example of toxic parents - a father who killed himself by alcohol and a mother with a weakness for alcohol. As a result, the daughter suffers from ACoA syndrome, i.e. she has a problem with nymphomania, it is difficult for her to establish a lasting love relationship, which unable to understand Another example - the father of one heroine has been drinking every day for 10 years, and the wife accepts it and explains his behavior in front of the children). There is also Jules, who is a transsexual teenager. Returning to the main character, after the death of her father, she becomes addicted to various drugs, because only in this way can she achieve a state in which she feels calm and safe. Thanks to meeting Jules Vaughn, she is able to cope with the difficult task of rehab.

As you can see, we have the potential for a really good show that addresses teen issues. Not only from the USA, but also from Poland and other Eastern European countries. I know a few similar cases myself, and I am also familiar with some of the problems of some heroes. They were presented very well - as I said, series produced for HBO or Amazon are usually of higher quality in terms of directing, script and the performance itself. Sure, Netflix has shown several times that if necessary, it can spend a lot of money and their series are of a good level, but they also produce a lot of junk productions. Amazon and HBO are trying to avoid them, or at least I haven't found the weak ones so far. The language is stronger and situations are often shown in a sharper way than in Netflix series. As a result, problems such as the fight against drug addiction can be shown better and more realistically. A young man in such a state is not only a screaming child, he can quickly turn into an unbalanced person who is able to kill or hurt the closest person just to get another dose of the drug. I also liked the deeper approach to the problem of teen sex - although SE compensates for it by showing it more from the side of disease, I was more impressed by showing the effects of peer pressure and how quickly the internet can reproduce content that should not be available to it. Unfortunately, apart from a few other smaller threads, this is where the "Euphoria" dominates the competition from Netflix. Sex Education also has some silly and unnecessary scenes that spoil the overall tone of the story and shallow down the problems it tries to portray, but these mostly catch your eye later, not in Season 1. Indeed, if you only consider individual episodes, I would probably praise the HBO series more, but when I have to judge the overall picture, despite my good intentions, I cannot find more advantages in favor of the work I am discussing.

My girlfriend, in my opinion, rightly summed it up - the first half was very good, and the second only spoiled the impressions. In the case of Sex Education, the level goes up slower and is more polite to the problems it raises, but the progress is consistent. We delve deeper and deeper into teenagers' problems, discover the challenges they face every day. Even though a few threads are ... stupid, they do not make the main message shallow. In the case of "Euphoria" we are dealing with a drop in level - especially in the case of the final, which was a big disappointment for me and my girlfriend and discouraged me from waiting for the sequel. In addition, the issues he touches on become too superficial, like in a weak or medium-sized teen show. It's not as painful a fall as Raised by Wolves, but it did hurt a bit. To sum up - I recommend the first half, but later it is only worse.

Z ciekawości postanowiłem zakupić abonament na HBO. Słyszałem wiele pozytywnych rzeczy na temat ich seriali lub filmów, więc chciałem się przekonać ile w tym prawdy. Póki co zaczęliśmy oglądać "Vinyl", tego samego dnia skończyliśmy również 1 sezon "Euphorii". Serialu, który zapowiadał się na świetny tytuł, a ostatecznie bardzo mnie zawiódł. Powiem tak, pierwsza połowa była świetna, ale wraz z każdym kolejnym odcinkiem drugiej połowy było coraz gorzej. Gdybym miał go do czegoś porównać, to byłoby to "Sex Education". Serial który podobnie jak "Euphoria", opowiada o trudnych problemach dorastających nastolatków lub ludzi, którzy od niedawna są dorośli, ale bez sztucznego pudrowania rzeczywistości lub ugrzeczniania pewnych tematów. Mówię to zarówno z perspektywy całego sezonu, jak i poszczególnych aspektów, które w większości wypadają korzystniej dla produkcji Netflixa. Mówię poszczególnych, bo są aspekty w których radzi sobie lepiej.

Główna bohaterka jest 17-letnia Rue Bennett grana przez uroczą i utalentowaną Zendayę, znaną z roli M.J w Marvel Cinematic Universe, filmu "Malcolm & Marie" (Netflix), "The Greatest Showman" lub "Dune", który niedługo trafi do kin. Rue jest uzależniona od narkotyków - i nie mówimy tu o takich słabych, jak marihuana, czy amfetamina, tylko o czymś znacznie grubszym. Wiecie na co naprawdę zmarł George Floyd wbrew obowiązującej narracji w gównianych mediach? Na to, że był chodzącą apteką i gdyby wyciągnąć z niego wszystkie narkotyki, to Rue i jej koleżanki ze szkoły byłyby na mocnej fazie przez kilka dni. Np. fentanyl, który również pojawia się w tej opowieści i jeśli efekt po jego zażyciu nie odbiega od rzeczywistości, to... No, nie dziwi mnie że George nie mógł poprawnie oddychać. Tak czy siak, główna bohaterka od dziecka cierpi na różne problemy - np. ataki paniki, czy inne schorzenia natury psychologicznej lub neurotycznej (jeśli popełniłem błąd i źle to nazwałem, to przepraszam). Podobnie jak jej koleżanki, czy koledzy - presja otoczenia lub rodziny widoczna na wielu różnych przykładach (Kat, która była nieśmiałą dziewczyną przez swoją tuszę, szybko odkrywa swoją seksualność lub Nate Jacobs, który pod skórą samca alfa ukrywa nieśmiałego chłopca nie umiejącego sobie poradzić z agresją), alkoholizmu w rodzinie (na przykładzie toksycznych rodziców - ojca, który zabił się przez alkohol i matki mającej słabość do alkoholu. Córka w wyniku tego cierpi na syndrom DDA, czyli np. ma problem z nimfomanią, trudno jej nawiązać trwałą miłosną relację, której nie jest w stanie zrozumieć. Inny przykład - ojciec jednej bohaterki pije codziennie od 10 lat, a żona to akceptuje i tłumaczy jego zachowanie przed dziećmi). Jest też Jules, która jest transseksualną nastolatką. Wracając do głównej bohaterki, po śmierci ojca wpada w uzależnienie od różnych narkotyków, bo tylko w ten sposób może osiągnąć stan, w którym czuje się spokojnie i bezpiecznie. Dzięki poznaniu Jules Vaughn, jest w stanie poradzić sobie z trudnym zadaniem, jakim jest odwyk.

Jak sami widzicie, mamy tu potencjał na naprawdę dobry serial, który dotyka problemów nastolatków. Nie tylko tych z USA, ale również Polski i innych krajów Europy wschodniej. Sam znam kilka podobnych przypadków, jak również nie obce są mi niektóre problemy części bohaterów. Zostały przedstawione one bardzo dobrze - jak już mówiłem, seriale produkowane dla HBO lub Amazona, zazwyczaj cechują się wyższą jakością w kwestii reżyserii, scenariusza, jak i samego wykonania. Jasne, Netflix kilkukrotnie pokazał, że jak trzeba, to potrafi wydać dużo pieniędzy i ich seriale prezentują dobry poziom, ale produkują też wiele śmieciowych produkcji. Amazon i HBO starają się ich unikać, a przynajmniej ja póki co nie trafiłem na te słabe. Język jest mocniejszy, a sytuacje nieraz są pokazywane w ostrzejszy sposób niż w serialach Netflixa. Przez to można lepiej i realniej pokazać problemy, jak np. walka z uzależnieniem od narkotyków. Młody człowiek w takim stanie nie tylko jest krzykliwym dzieckiem, może się błyskawicznie zmienić w niezrównoważoną osobę, która jest w stanie zabić lub skrzywdzić najbliższą osobę, by tylko zdobyć kolejną porcję narkotyku. Podobało mi się również głębsze podejście do problemu seksu nastolatków - co prawda SE kompensuje to pokazywaniem go bardziej od strony chorób, ale mocniejsze wrażenie zrobiło na mnie pokazanie skutków presji rówieśników oraz tego, jak szybko internet potrafi powielać treści, które nie powinny do niego trafić. Niestety, pomijając kilka innych mniejszych wątków, to tu kończą się rzeczy, w których "Euphoria" góruje nad konkurencją od Netflixa. "Sex Education" również ma kilka głupich i niepotrzebnych scen, które psują ogólny wydźwięk historii i spłycają problemy, które stara się przedstawić, ale te głównie rzucają się w oczy później, a nie w 1 sezonie. Fakt, gdyby brać pod uwagę tylko pojedyncze odcinki, to prawdopodobnie bardziej pochwaliłbym serial HBO, ale gdy muszę oceniać całokształt, to mimo dobrych chęci, nie jestem w stanie znaleźć większej ilości zalet na korzyść omawianego przeze mnie dzieła.

Moja dziewczyna moim zdaniem słusznie to podsumowała - pierwsza połowa była bardzo dobra, a druga tylko popsuła wrażenia. W przypadku "Sex Education" poziom wolniej idzie do góry oraz grzeczniej podchodzi do problemów, które porusza, ale postęp jest konsekwentny. Coraz bardziej zagłębiamy się w problemy nastolatków, odkrywamy wyzwania, z którymi muszą się mierzyć codziennie. Mimo, że kilka wątków jest no... głupich, to nie spłycają one głównego przekazu. W przypadku "Euphorii" mamy do czynienia ze spadkiem poziomu - zwłaszcza w przypadku tego finałowego, który był dla mnie i mojej dziewczyny dużym rozczarowaniem i zniechęcił mnie do czekania na kontynuację. Poza tym problemy, które porusza stają się zbyt powierzchowne, jak w słabym lub co najwyżej średnim serialu dla nastolatków. Nie jest to tak bolesny spadek, jak w przypadku "Raised by Wolves", ale trochę zabolał. Reasumując - polecam pierwszą połowę, ale później jest tylko gorzej.

Euphoria es una de esas series que se prestan para generar una discusión desde muchísimos ángulos, no tanto por su contenido en si sino por las señales mixtas que puede enviar su ejecución. Estrenada en junio del 2019 por parte de HBO, Euphoria es un drama adolescente creado y dirigido principalmente por Sam Levinson, que parece tomar elementos de series como Skins y tratan temas bastante delicados como el sexo, el uso de drogas, la irreverencia adolescente y el amor.

La parte más llamativa de Euphoria es una presentación, con un nivel de producción muy elevado (Lo que no es de extrañar de HBO) tenemos frente a nosotros una serie de calidad, con un excelente cast y constantes brillantes elecciones musicales

Aunque lastimosamente la pandemia supuso una gran cantidad de retraso respecto a la segunda temporada (De la cual estando en pleno 2021 existe poca información) con mi reciente suscripción a HBO Max descubrí que había un par de “Especiales de navidad” que sirven no solo para refrescar nuestra pasión por la serie, sino también para explorar un par de temas interesantes para las cuales los 8 capítulos originales fueron más bien insuficientes.

De esta forma tenemos: Euphoria: Trouble Don’t Last Always (Part 1: Rue) y Euphoria: Fuck anyone who’s not a sea blob (Part 2: Jules), y hoy me enfocaré precisamente en la primera parte.

Cuando al principio hablaba de la capacidad que tiene la serie para generar una discusión me refiero a muchos de sus elementos y como son presentados a nosotros como espectadores, Euphoria cruza con extrema facilidad la línea entre el mensaje anti-drogas y un hedonismo alocado que las incita, esto se ve reforzado por la hermosa estética que acompaña cada uno de sus planos, mezclada con la naturaleza caótica de sus personajes y su trama.

Mucha gente tacha la serie de “realista” y creo que esta es precisamente la razón, no tanto porque las cosas que viven sus personajes las hemos vivido, o porque se expresan de forma similar a nosotros cuando somos jóvenes (Ambas cosas son verdaderas parcialmente), sino porque toma una posición conflictiva respecto a todas esas vivencias destructivas, el alcohol, las drogas y el sexo se presentan como algo disfrutable y al mismo tiempo dañino, una visión que aunque podría alterar a aquellos que sean muy conservadores, termina siendo sincero e invita a la reflexión.

Esta reflexión es precisamente el logro de Part 1: Rue, que funciona como un episodio embotellado en donde luego de una recaída Rue (Interpretada magistralmente por Zendaya) conversa con su nuevo amigo Ali en un restaurante, ambos discuten sus adicciones y Ali trata de convencerla sobre sus efectos perjudiciales y como aunque ella no lo crea aun tiene salvación.

Me encanta la idea de ejecutar esto con una trama tan simple, la mayoría del episodio se reduce a un intercambio de ideas e historias que puede aburrir a aquellos que esperen algo más acelerado, pero resulta un interesante análisis sobre la psique de ambos personajes donde logramos entender con mucha facilidad sus posiciones.

No solo contiene dos brillantes actuaciones (Tanto de Zendaya como de Colman Domingo, quien interpreta a Ali) sino que está grabada de forma hermosa, tiene un camera work excepcional y nos deja inmersos otra vez en este universo.

Por supuesto no es un especial para todo el mundo, es íntimo y lento, pero logra complementar muy bien la primera temporada y lleva a su personaje principal a un lugar muy interesante.

Recomendada para fans de la serie o aquellos que quieran ver una obra experimental que se acerque de forma muy crítica a la adicción sin dejar de ser atractiva visualmente.

Welcome to the world of Rue. Disheveled hair, brown skin and a red sweater whose hood is always up, hiding obsessive, distant, peculiar eyes. A beautiful setting and a life immersed in drugs surround the dramatic need of this somewhat bipolar and unaware girl. The fight is internal, the enemy is intimate, the desire to surrender usually knocks on the door. Sex, violence, bribes, addictions, complexes, fears, love, friendship ... all mixed with the euphoria of a group of teenagers that you will rarely see doing their homework.

I hardly watch adolescent series, in part, because I always saw the girl who doesn't fit in hooking up with the popular one in the class and vice versa. The awkward love and over-the-top cliche world of this genre doesn't fit in my mind. However, after learning about the success of Euphoria, I decided to see it to see if those accolades were well deserved or it was all a farce alarm produced by the vague sentimentality of the masses. I looked, astonished ... the first thing I saw was this girl named Rue narrating in voice off, as if she were an omniscient narrator revealing the great secrets of each and everyone. It was not the typical story, without a doubt, here addiction is not a taboo, it is an indispensable way of life.

Bienvenidos al mundo de Rue. Cabello desaliñado, piel morena y un suéter rojo cuya capucha siempre está arriba, ocultando ojos obsesivos, lejanos, peculiares. Un escenario hermoso y una vida sumergida en las drogas rodean la necesidad dramática de esta chica algo bipolar y desentendida. La lucha es interna, el enemigo es íntimo, las ganas de rendirse tocan habitualmente a la puerta. Sexo, violencia, sobornos, adicciones, complejos, miedos, amor, amistad… todo mezclado con la euforia de un grupo de adolescentes a los que poco verás haciendo sus tareas.

Casi no miro series de adolescentes, en parte, porque siempre veía a la chica que no encaja ligándose al popular de la clase y viceversa. El amor torpe y el exagerado mundo cliché de este género no me cabe en mi mente. No obstante, luego de conocer el éxito de Euforia decidí verla para comprobar si aquellos elogios eran bien merecidos o todo era una farsa alarma producida por los vagos sentimentalismos de las masas. Miré, atónito... lo primero que vi fue a esta chica llamada Rue narrar en voz off, como si se tratara de un narrador omnisciente develando los grandes secretos de todas y todos. No era la típica historia, sin duda, aquí la adicción no es un tabú, es una forma de vida indispensable.

Voto episodio: 10 Voglio partire da qui nel racconto di "Trouble don't last always", il primo dei 2 episodi speciali di #euphoria, andato in onda lo scorso 6 dicembre. E' un episodio statico ma intensissimo, durante il quale #rue si mette a nudo e ci lascia senza fiato, a bocca aperta, con l'animo dolorante. Ne ho parlato qui ma il modo migliore per apprezzarlo è vederlo. Una della cose più belle del 2020.

Espero estén viendo una buena serie en este momento, en caso de no ser así, por acá paso como de costumbre dejando una buena reseña, en esta oportunidad quisiera comentarles sobre Euphoria, basada en la serie israelí del mismo nombre creada por Ron Leshem, sigue el drama de adolescentes, donde nos encontramos con un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria mientras navegan por las drogas, el sexo, la prostitución, la identidad, el trauma, las redes sociales, el amor y la amistad. Es una producción de HBO y actualmente consta de una temporada con ocho episodios. A continuación, les comentaré sobre la serie.

Euphoria, es una serie que tuvo buena recepción y popularidad desde un principio cuando HBO empezó a estrenar sus episodios, desde el primer momento nos hace saber que esta no es cualquier serie adolescente y es el principal enfoque que quisiera darle a esta reseña. Cuenta la historia de Rue, una chica de 16 años que tras sufrir una sobredosis de drogas en las vacaciones despierta y debe enfrentar nuevamente el mundo que la rodea, en este caso, es el mundo del colegio, la familia y las amistades. Algo muy particular sucede en su regreso, que es la llegada de una nueva estudiante, Jules.

Empecemos desde la esencia de la serie, aquello que nos intenta transmitir y en el ambiente que se desarrolla. Euphoria como su nombre lo dice es una experiencia, y es lo que intenta a través de ocho episodios de demostrar todo el tiempo. Los episodios se arman de la misma manera funcionando como individuales, pero al mismo tiempo formando parte de un todo. Siempre tienen una introducción de presentación de uno de los personajes, mostrándonos cómo fue su niñez, y esto en particular es algo que suma mucho al contexto que los atraviesa en la secundaria. Haciendo ver de esta manera una perspectiva más de cerca en lo que sucede en la vida de cada uno, lo cual se ve reflejado en el presente.

Por otro lado, podemos hacerle una distinción especial a esta serie por el hecho de mostrarnos de manera más objetiva, sin buscar juzgar, ya que vemos a niños que a diferencia de otros niños ya han crecido en estos ambientes de sexo y drogas de los que forman parte cuando son adolescentes, pero no de una forma agresiva en todos los casos sino desde un lugar más naturalizado. Ahora, abiertamente puedo decir que sí me parece una serie muy buena para tratar y debatir sobre temas indispensables que cada vez aquejan en esta época, problemas reales que pueden vivir los adolescentes en cualquier momento, pero no me parece fácil de ver ni apta para edades tempranas, esto no lo menciono a manera de critica, más bien a manera de precaución.

Cambiando un poco sobre su temática, las interpretaciones de los actores, son todas buenas. En cuanto a los personajes quizás se pueda decir que son todos bastante jóvenes, quizás parecen más grandes de lo que realmente interpretan, sin embargo, a medida que avanza la serie y las escenas se ponen cada vez más intensas se entiende que no podrían ser interpretadas por menores de edad. En este sentido, es otro gran acierto a la manera que eligen mostrar los momentos más duros, ya que no pierden intensidad pero al mismo tiempo son bastante explícitos.

Considerando la dureza de su contenido, me parece una serie muy recomendable que no debe ser omitida en la lista de series por ver, pero para audiencias más adultas, por claras razones ya expuestas anteriormente, ya que se puede convertir la serie en una herramienta para profundizar en las preocupaciones constantes que conlleva. Teniendo en cuenta esto, quizás sea una buena manera de tratar los temas actuales, sin necesidad de tabú o juicios innecesarios, más bien una ventaja que abre un tema muy importante en el ámbito psicológico, que puede ser tratado y a su vez procesado de manera constante sin exigencias, aplicando de esta manera el reforzamiento conductual.

Around Rue there is the whole teenage world that you would expect to find in a high school with stars and stripes but it is painted with great skill through a messy, almost chaotic but effective and sometimes superb direction. The key theme is depression.

HBO in tema di serialità è come Armani per la moda, è come il Barcellona per il calcio, è come la nouvelle Vague per il cinema o Woodstock per il rock.

Non sbaglia, mai.

E quando sbaglia lo fa sperimentando, offrendo alternative, nuovi punti di vista e grandi storie da raccontare e da scoprire.

E cosi finita Game of Thrones ci ha deliziati prima con Chernobyl e poi con una serie su cui nessuno avrebbe scommesso un centesimo: Euphoria.

Non lasciatevi ingannare dal titolo, in Euphoria c'è poco da festeggiare. HBO piomba in un teen drama e lo rende molto drama e poco teen lasciando ai volti di liceali ed ambientazioni tipiche del pre-college la componente "teen" per poi come sempre parlarci di altro, di vita, di malessere, di sogni, di dolore, di trauma.

La protagonista assoluta della serie è Rue, interpretata da una delle rivelazioni dell'anno Zendaya, una ragazza alle prese con problemi di tossicodipendenza ed appena uscita da un istituto di recupero dopo aver vissuto 4 giorni in coma causa overdose.

Euphoria costruisce intorno alla protagonista un mondo fatto di tanto sesso, tanto disagio, tanti ragazzi perduti alla ricerca di se stessi. C'è la ragazza obesa che non piace a nessuno ma che nel sesso online trova il suo riscatto. La ragazza bellissima e maggiorata che nelle sue fragilità cade vittima di ragazzi che in lei vedono solo una conquista ambitissima di cui fare sfoggio con video hot e foto osè. La cheerleader vittima di un rapporto malsano con il quaterback psicopatico. Il ragazzo underdog innamorato ma troppo distratto dal piacere agli altri ed a genitori iperprotettivi.

Intorno a Rue c'è l'intero mondo adolescenziale che vi aspettereste di trovare in un liceo a stelle e strisce ma viene dipinto con grande maestria attraverso una regia disordinata, quasi caotica ma efficace e a tratti superba. How the hell did i missed Eva Green and Alycia Viking in a movie together. Surely going to watch it in my weekend.

What i understand from the trailer is that they are two sisters who live a different life apart. One day they decide to meet and take a journey on a holiday together to some remote side clinic helping people and they must live for six days before they can leave the place. Soon things don't go well between the sisters and they start getting into fights with each other.
