Rick and Morty Season 9 EP 2: One of the most tragic episodes of the series@netflixr3d
I was one of the guys that once Justin Roiland was fired for charges against him, that I felt the series suffered greatly and lacked the certain edge that it had before. Instead of being greatly enthusiastic about new episodes dropping, I kind of ignored them. There are many episodes between season 6 and 9, which is the current season, that I haven't seen.
There are some pretty heavy spoilers ahead, so if you are one of those people like me that really don't pay much attention to Rick and Morty anymore because you think the episodes aren't very good anymore. Just know that S9:E2 is different, and you should seek it out to watch it now.
Out of a lack of anything else to watch though, I decide from time to time to fire it back up and give it a shot. While overall I feel as though the series has kind of lost a lot in the absence of Roiland, every now and then they strike gold and to me, "Ricks Days, Seven Nights" is one of the best episodes the series has ever had, and is definitely one of the most tragic.
There will be spoilers ahead, as the warning indicates. However, Rick and Morty episodes while creative, all have a similar sort of ending so nothing that I say here will be particularly surprising.
In this episode we see Rick take on an alter ego of "Ted", who is a traveling PVC salesman who lives a simple life of bowling and going fishing with his bowling alley friends. He is not a super scientist who is basically a god. This is due to something that Rick has done to himself as a way of going on vacation away from his life and his own brain.
Rick thinks he is "Ted" and lives happily in this simple life until something happens and part of his appendages arise to save him from danger. These failsafes are just something that Rick has put into his own fantasy vacation as a way of preserving himself should something go terribly wrong. "Ted" is completely unaware of his capabilities as a scientist but very quickly remembers them. In this time he seeks to find the source of this "Rick" and destroy him, so that he can permanently remain in the life of Ted.
Of course the real Rick had planned on this being a possibility and had a counter-measure for everything that Ted attempts to do.
The episode is amusing because it is nice to see everyone be so surprised about what is going on, except of course for Rick's actual family, who isn't surprised by anything anymore. When a different Rick turns up at the house, they are only pissed off about the garage getting destroyed by the crashed homemade ship that Ted made, and are not at all confused or afraid that their Grandfather "Rick" doesn't know who they are, or who Rick is.
But this is where the tragedy kicks in right at the end. Rick prefers to not have super-intelligence and all the difficulties that comes along with it. Just like the wonderfully scenic toilet episode many years ago, Rick really just enjoys normal things like nature and hanging out with simple pals, and his alcoholism and other substance abuse comes form the immense burden that comes along with being the only human that actually knows how the universe (or multiple universes) actually function.
The only time that Rick truly feels at peace is in the made up mind of a simpler person who just likes to drink whiskey with friends while ice fishing or going late-night bowling with those same friends. Once he realizes that he has no choice but to reset his brain using a push button failsafe at the end - which appears to do nothing when pressed - Morty turns to him after "Ted" hits the button and sees that Ted looks really sad.
"Did it not work?" says Morty
A very dejected looking Ted/Rick turns as he leaves the garage and says, "no, it worked." and the episode ends.
This is not the first time they have touched base with Rick's internal struggles in episodes. I can recall at least one other one where Rick keeps trying to kill himself but his own protocols that he has built in for self-preservation that he cannot override keep preventing it.
It's obviously a far-fetched and silly cartoon, but there is a lot in here about the human condition and how people who seem to have it all together and can do "anything they want" actually can often end up quite unhappy. There are plenty of extremely wealthy and powerful and loved celebrities that offed themselves that were going through the same thing.
It's strange to that a look into what this might be like would come from one of the most irreverent cartoons ever made.
I highly suggest that you watch Season 9 episode 2 even if you, like me, kind of fell out with Rick and Morty a few years ago. This one is different and IMO one of the best of the entire series.
Rick and Morty can be legally streamed as part of an HBO Max subscription. Most episodes can also be streamed as a part of any partnership that includes Adult Swim.
It's a little sad that after a couple of years where the level of quality had dropped considerably, Rick and Morty is gaining momentum again just before all the controversy that surrounded Justin Roiland, and, although I don't want it to be the focus main part of this post, we cannot deny that his absence in most of the production of the 7th season was worrying (at best).
It is perfectly understandable, not only because Roiland was in charge of providing the voice to both protagonists, but because since his creation he appeared to be a crucial piece of the creative process along with Dan Harmon.
And, while Harmon was probably primarily involved in writing most of the scripts (along with the writing team), the lines between each other's input were somewhat blurred.
So, with the seventh season released in its entirety, what was the final result like? Is Roiland's absence palpable in one way or another? Has the quality improved, worsened or remained the same?
Like the solid sixth season, Rick and Morty Season 7 maintains the level of quality that has been expected for a couple of years, something that could be said in a good and bad way simultaneously.
Although there are brilliant chapters like That's Amorte, The Jerrick Trap or Rickfending Your Mort, others remain at an entertaining level of mediocrity, taking a good premise and following a relatively boring but effective course to develop it.
In general terms, the final product is positive, especially because it seems that after several years of experimenting with a partially serialized format, Rick and Morty has discovered that the best way to proceed is with isolated stories, which, yes, can follow a clear chronological line, but they never sacrifice the narrative of the moment to fit into a larger story.
Regarding the absence of Roiland, those more trained ears will be able to clearly feel the difference between his voice and the new dubbing, especially when it comes to the character of Morty in the episodes of the second half of the season. However, it is an incredible relief that on a creative level the differences are imperceptible, something that coincides with multiple testimonies from the crew who have already explained that Roiland was not so involved in the writing/story boarding process for a couple of years.

I still consider the first two seasons to be the strongest moment of the entire series, but the plan of brilliant chapters that are released each year are reason enough to continue giving it a chance.

Rick and Morty is a peculiar animation that often goes against expectations and turns silly comedy into drama for the main character.
Season 7 is unfortunately not what viewers expected the first affair with the series creator and voiceover, and just when you might think it's ok the script lies somewhere in the trash.
Season 7 finally answers the nagging question and explains the whole thing (to be precise, it's one episode at the beginning of the season) and it's an interesting episode although it was heavily panned and often irrational we finally got the culmination of what the character wanted.
Season 7 also features an episode about spaghetti, which, under the guise of comedy, is probably one of the most interestingly realized episodes because it raises an interesting question about ourselves.
There's also an episode about a hole that shows the worst nightmares for the characters, and it's very well done, but it's a shame that for such a number of episodes, 3 episodes were good, and the rest are a real tragedy.
However, season 7 as a whole is a decline quite drastic feel here, from episode to episode the lack of sophistication in throwing jokes and lack of script, and from episode to episode the series gets more and more boring.
Not counting three episodes, it's a season done on the strength of a lack of humor and depressing setting.
If the series continues, it will not have the main reason for existence that it had for the previous seasons, which is a minus and a plus at the same time, a minus because we got a fast-paced finale of what the protagonist wanted to do, and a plus that they finally finished the plot at all.
Overall, not counting the three episodes, the series unfortunately disappointed me in every way.
It's a pity, I thought that if there are new creators, they will give the story interesting crazy and sad adventures, but we get a quick conglomerate of poorly digestible soup, which is hard to swallow.
4/10 Only because 3 episodes were good of which one we got the answer to the main reason for the series. The creators mixed up the episodes as if they put them in a blender and gave them random ones thinking people wouldn't notice.
›Old Man Yells at Clouds – Rick and Morty's High IQ Fanbase@dlstudios1083d
I have a friend, and he was a pretty big fan of Rick and Morty. While to this day he is a friend, he unironically told me 'You Need a High IQ to enjoy Rick and Morty'. This guy was never a huge online guy, so he didn't see as much of the internet nonsense as I have. He was entirely unaware that phrase was used to kind of mock the fanbase for going on about how original and clever Rick and Morty was. Yet here he was, saying this without a hint of self-awareness of the things coming out of his mouth. These people are real.
And finally, I have watched Rick and Morty, making it through four seasons, I have to say you people have lost your damn minds. The science references in the show are at the same depth as the 'I divided by 0' memes. They are science jokes for people who don't understand science. It's jokes for the Facebook meme nerds. That is the level if IQ needed to get pretty much every joke in this entire show.
And don't get me started on the times this show tries to make you care. After long series of people being horrible, terrible excuses of human beings we are suddenly expected to care about their family situation out of nowhere. Or the sheer volume of episodes the parents are at odds and immediately in love again at the end of the episode. This happens so many times it's insane. They effectively repeat that same joke over and over again.
Even the stuff that gets popular from this show that leaks out into the rest of the internet aren't exactly the most clever things, they are just stuff that is absurd and random. The horrors of Pickle Rick will forever be a stain on internet meme history.
The thing is though? Not a bad show, I quite liked the first three seasons (Though season four put me off from wanting to see more, that was just a bad season). There is a lot of creative and fun imagery, a degree of absurdity that is a lot of fun, and some dark and mean-spirited humor that works for me. It is far from some kind of brilliant gem, but it's a good show worth watching. And no, you don't need some high IQ to get the references and follow what's going on, and if you think you do... well I'll let you figure out the implications there.
›[Animation review] [Eng | Esp] Rick and Morty | An interdimensional adventure for adults@jrjaime1210d
Welcome my dear dimensional travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, a very common feature of animation aimed at an adult audience is the fact of making sexual jokes and substance abuse, however today I come to talk about a series which goes beyond this type of humor by adding high levels of absurdity, bizarre things and violence to do comedy, I'm talking of course about the animation called "Rick and Morty" which is loaded with wonderful black humor with very good levels of absurdities. Without more to add, get ready to see other versions that we are about to begin.

The animation has a fairly characteristic simple style, where it shines most is in both graphic scenes with exaggerated amounts of blood and in those that have highly colorful and futuristic scenarios, in both cases it presents a good fluidity that makes these moments of action completely enjoyable.

This is one of the highlights of the series because different worlds and contexts are constantly shown which can present both large and small differences being that anyway the setting feels interesting. Because the main plot of the plot is that of adventures in different worlds this section needs to have a good development something that is successfully achieved both with worlds that can be very colorful or very simple but always presenting those small differences that make it feel like something new.

The plot is loaded with good adventures and extremely absurd comedy with a pseudo-episodic narrative with mostly self-concluding plots, however something that all episodes share is the fact of being loaded with a characteristic highly bizarre black humor with which it is honestly very easy to laugh out loud. The series feels fresh despite following a formula since it knows how to execute it well, being even that it performs some parodies that are highly excellent. Once every now and then there is one or another episode that leaves the door open to be continued another time, this gives a certain deeper character to the series making it even more interesting.

The characters in general are very charismatic, all the members of the family have a good focus to the point that on more than one occasion they have a chapter that focuses them to get to know them a little more. It is necessary to mention that although the characters are not especially deep, what stands out most is how they relate to each other, this gives rise to many interactions that can generate completely funny situations, even being that this interaction can change with the passing of the seasons; a good example of this are the protagonists Rick and Morty because this grandfather-grandson relationship has a constant evolution throughout the seasons that depends on how much this duo is known, this progression in the relationship gives a certain more human character to both and produces that the series is more entertaining.

Rick and Morty is a wonderful series to be able to laugh a lot about the amount of absurd, grotesque and obscene things it has, possessing even a moderate amount of violence to finish seasoning the matter and have a good cherry that complements it. That is why it deserves 4.5 stars out of 7, a series that has remained fresh throughout the 6 seasons it has and that is completely enjoyable because it shows that it is aimed at a mature audience.

Rick and Morty is in a rather strange state, with Justin Roiland embroiled in a disastrous controversy and Adult Swim making the decision to continue producing the series without him at the helm, it's not unreasonable to feel a little worried about what this means for quality. of the project in the long term, regardless of our personal opinions regarding Roiland and the horrible acts he has committed, we must admit that along with Dan Harmon, he had always been an integral part of it, not only for his ability to give voice to his main leads and an amazing catalog of supporting characters, but to set aside his bitter and funny creative vision.
And it is that, if we add to this tragedy the evident decline of the most recent seasons, although Rick And Morty continues to provide a vulgar amount of money to Adult Swim, it seems that we have all collectively been losing interest... And honestly, who? could you judge us? The years have desensitized us to his style of humor and what once represented freshness now feels generic and worn.
So how should we feel about it?
On the one hand, the second half of the sixth season (which, by the way, premiered a couple of weeks ago) managed to increase the questionable quality that we had seen in the weakest moments of seasons 4 and 5, leaving us waiting for the future. with a solid cliffhanger, but again failing to capture its brightest moments in the first and second seasons.
Ironically, the (Forced) departure of one of the main faces of the series (And someone who carried much of the creative weight on his shoulders) is a bittersweet incentive to give the seventh season a chance, not only because the idea is interesting to see how they will address the absence of the original voices (with its corresponding cascade of self-referential jokes, for better or for worse), but because I feel it's only fair to give the entire team of animators, writers and producers a chance to they should not be represented by Roiland's conduct.
On a more cynical note we could point out the hypocrisy of the entire TV industry, unable to move past an animated series whose co-creator has blood on his hands (Literally), but at the same time, we have to accept that Rick and Morty is more bigger than any man, and as a consequence, we still have a lot of her to see.
Unfortunately I don't feel like these last few seasons have maintained the quality, so it's easy to feel indifferent to whatever the result is.
I remember that if a couple of years ago someone asked me about my favorite series, Rick and Morty would undoubtedly have been on the list, the creation of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon (Both with impressive backgrounds in the comedy industry both animated as live action) represented a paradigm shift that I needed, away from the more "realistic" stories such as The Simpsons, Family Guy or South Park itself, but willing to make the most of the possibilities of its format.
It is difficult to describe Rick and Morty without falling into the same old clichés, yes, it seems to be a distortion of classics like Doctor Who or Star Trek where nihilistic elements are brilliantly included, but at the same time it was our window to a lot of of fascinating characters that kept us interested both in their moments of evolution, and in those of intentional stagnation.
The painful thing about the whole thing is that despite the fact that its first two seasons were quite decent, after entering the mainstream focus of our society it seems that they have not known how to maintain the level, and it is very difficult to understand the exact reason why? what?
For me, for example, the abundant number of episodes that have accumulated over the years ends up wearing down the novel atmosphere of its beginnings, turning Rick and Morty into a container of adventures that, although ingenious, could be crossed out as slight variations to formulas that we have already seen before.
The second episode of the 6th season, for example, is perfect to demonstrate this new philosophy: showing us how Morty has mistakenly spread his consciousness to millions of inhabitants of a virtual world, to correct this, Rick must convince each of these NPCs their situation, working collectively to escape the simulation. It is a brilliant premise where every notable aspect of the series can shine: science fiction is ingenious, and dramatic and comedic advantage can be taken of the intrinsically tragic situation that everyone is experiencing.
And what is the problem? At the same time, these virtues can be traced back to other episodes we've seen before, like the one where Rick builds a microscopic society to power his ship's battery, or the one where Morty ends up living an alternate life using a video game. of virtual reality.
When the entertainment of your product partially depends on the impact factor, it is understandable that after repeating the same style of premises over and over again, its effects begin to lose their forcefulness.
Rick and Morty, although it objectively maintains quality, has not been determined to find ways to counteract these drawbacks, it is shy about continuity, and is often reduced to a set of winks and references that do not become anything particularly interesting.
We will continue to see, obviously, but at least for now things do not look particularly good, the potential is still there but it needs to be exploited properly.
The screenshots in this post were taken directly from the series by me
A few weeks ago I wrote a short post where I individually reviewed the first batch of episodes of the fifth season of Rick And Morty, the truth was that it was a rather disappointing experience if I take into account how great they have been for me. the first two seasons and a good chunk of the fourth.
The thing is that at the end of that same post I made it quite clear that I had faith that the rest of the episodes improved considerably and I looked forward to them.
So what happened?
Although several of the problems that characterized the start of the fifth season continue to drag on, we have also had a couple of very fresh stories that deserve recognition.
From a decent sixth episode we find stories that seem to embrace with much more confidence the new formula of Rick and Morty where the elements of science fiction although interesting are nothing more than intelligent excuses to move forward a style of bitter but funny humor. .
In my opinion the true peak of the season comes with the seventh episode titled Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion, which focuses mostly on parodying mecha anime and Power Rangers-style series while at the same time including elements of filmmakers. as Scorsese (With the whole storytelling thing).
It is curious that the best story of the entire season is one that has a "smaller" scale, without the need to get too complicated or include scientific elements that can make us lose track of conflicts.
The chapters that follow are all pretty decent, mixing great animated designs with good music and constant references to previous seasons that reward the most dedicated fans without breaking the episodic structure.
However, Rick and Morty has failed to raise the level of quality of gems such as "Rick Potion N9" or the beloved "Close Rick-Counters of the first Rick Kind", Harmond's formula for storytelling, although efficient, begins to border on the predictable and many times we end up involved in conflicts less interesting than the sub-plots that are abandoned.
While it manages to satisfy the fandom and remains interesting pieces of science fiction and well-measured humor, episodes like Forgetting Sarick Mortshall establish good ideas but extend them more than they should.
In general terms it is not a bad season, the quality has improved a lot and I feel that even in its worst moments it was better than the first half, the thing is that it is still unfortunate that the glory days of Rick and Morty are left behind and it is not possible to return to them.
Returning to the positive side we have all the post-credits scenes that accompany the end of each episode, adding gags that totally change the meaning of certain plot points and give a pleasant density to various jokes.
Rick and Morty represents a lot of good things, it is still one of the best animated series for adults and it obviously has a lot more to offer.
The last season just ended on September 5, with the consecutive premiere of the last 2 chapters, and to some extent the ending has been totally pleasant. This series that has been with us since 2013, has tried this season to solve various mysteries that the series maintained, while having the classic non-canonical episodes.
Mort Dinner Rick Andre: The season begins strong in my opinion, showing a new antagonist of Rick, Nimbus, the governor of the sea. At the same time, we see how a new attempt by Morty to improve his relationship with Jessica was thwarted. Seeing how an entire society is affected simply by the coming and going of Morty is entertaining to watch.
Mortyplicity: Chapter dedicated to decoys, showing us that if you decide to copy a Rick Sanchez, it may still think like him. The episode shows how different versions of the family have to deal with the problem of decoys, and even to what point copying and copying degenerates. One of the episodes that you have to see of the season.
3- A Rickconvenient Mort.
To Rickconvenient Mort. Episode that makes a total reference to the 90's series, Captain Planet. In this case, turned into a heroine, Planetina, who will be Morty's romantic interest. While Rick has a minor affair with his granddaughter, where he also falls into the net of love. Perhaps, we see the more mature Morty, as he decides to cut their relationship because of how chaotic and insane it was going to be.
Rickdependence Spray: Chaotic and bizarre episode, totally strange. After the previous chapters, I feel a slump here, but at least it's fun to watch. It includes a horse princess, monstrous sperm, incestuous fetuses and a lot of weird things. It all starts with a Morty hiding a shameful secret, he masturbated where he should not masturbate.
Amortycan Grickfitti: A new student comes to school. Morty, supported by Summer, decide to impress him in various ways. Minor episode and that you can really get past watching. Even references to the Hellraiser movie saga don't save it.
Rick and Morty’s Thanksploitation Spectacular: The plot plays with the Thanksgiving event and turkeys, in this case the president of the USA is involved again, carrying out another battle of egos with Rick. Includes transformations from humans to turkeys and turkeys to humans. Bizarre chapter like the 4th.
Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion: Chapter that refers to Voltron and the Kaijus, large monsters that terrorize cities. In it we see Summer seeking approval from her grandfather, as well as a characteristic that stands out, Rick is a person who tends to become too obsessed with one topic, and then moves on to another, repeating the cycle. Fun to watch.
Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort: From this episode onwards, they are chapters that resolve doubts about the characters' past. In this case, we see the past of Rick's relationship with Birdperson, as well as the youth of the already grandfather. At the same time it reveals the disappointment that Rick had, when he could not continue in adventures with Bird Man. A secret is also revealed to us, Tammy had a daughter, which we manage to see in the epilogue. Interesting chapter to see, due to the amount of information that is shown to us.
Forgetting Sarick Mortshall: We know that the relationship between Morty and Rick is toxic, this chapter tries to see what happens when they stop going together. Morty ends up with a psychopath as a partner and Rick has 2 crows, in the end he has to fight space crows. Somehow, Rick realizes how bad his relationship with his grandson is and decides to cut the cycle, leaving to never return, with his crows. It's half entertaining, but it serves as a prologue to the next episode.
Rickmurai Jack: The chapter that many expected, as it finally advances, the story of the evil Morty and The Citadel. Rick after leaving his anime adventures with the crows, decides to help his grandson with a problem that forces them to return to The Citadel. In it, evil Morty decides to invite them to a meal where he reveals his plans. Rick, in the process of fighting, reveals his past to Morty, seeing that he was the mastermind of the city as well as the "infinite curve". Evil Morty achieves his goal, escape and destroy the "infinite curve" The ending with a musical soundtrack gives an excellent ending to this season finale.
This season I choose the first 3 and the last 3 chapters, entertaining and interesting to watch. Many mysteries are revealed, such as the origin of The Citadel, Rick's past, the real evil Morty's plan, and others. In several chapters, we see the development of the characters, as well as we recognize and define certain characteristics of them. I have to mention that the great protagonists are still Rick and Morty, since this season, the participation of the rest of the family has been less.
From old news, there are supposed to be several more confirmed seasons, and in my case at least, I'm still looking forward to seeing.
Watching an animated series in my 30's is a bit complicated since I come from a generation that grew up with The Simpsons and burned a lot of stages in each season they could enjoy and to this day I still enjoy that animated series but more for nostalgia than for entertainment which in recent years has been the main motivator or requirement to take the time and watch any animated series. Some time ago I reviewed the series Invincible where I told you that it was one of the best I had seen this last year as it has a very strong content with scenes of violence, blood and acid humor that can blow your mind without a doubt and which I recommend. I also told you about Paradise PD, BoJack Horseman which are pure poetry with some cum and shit in a good way.

➡️ I will not leave out our beloved South Park which to this day has 24 seasons and continues to be a favorite of millions of people who are not afraid to say what they think and don't give a shit what anyone says about them and that's great from any angle you look at it. All these series have something in common and that is that they are not afraid to hurt those heartstrings that shatter the glass generation and much less ask permission to the old school to do what they want because we live in a world where freedom of expression has different ways to express a thought or whatever comes out of the bottom of our asses.
Maybe because of that freedom they have an unusual audience that knows their limits and that of course is under their full responsibility since nothing that can come out of this series is educational or within the normal where we have from horses that talk through their teeth, policemen that have no respect for the law, yellow characters that don't give a fuck about falling into repetition to see their audience happy and some little kids that should wash their mouths with lots of soap. Within each of these animated series that are clearly for an adult group, although lately some parents are not very attentive to what their children see on their cell phone screens, they may come across this type of content.
➡️ For a few years now I have been following a series with a unique personality and that since its first season has not been afraid to break some rules and overpass the limits of what is right and disturbing and Rick and Morty has it all and in this 5 season has fucked the mind of more than one of his followers. Since season 1 we can meet an old man with an adventurous spirit and a brain that surpasses any scientist born and to be born who is clear about what he wants and desires in life and doesn't give a fuck about what might happen to the rest of the world. On the other hand we have a young boy who is her grandson and who for some reason has become addicted to his grandmother's crazy trips around dozens of planets and time-spaces where reality is not the same as he knows it and that everything can happen in a matter of seconds.
Rick and Morty has nothing to envy to other animated series for adults and usually has enough content to entertain all tastes both strange and bizarre that you can imagine and it is this fifth season has managed to surprise me to such a level that I can not believe the liberties they had to create 7 chapters that are total madness and in this review I want to tell you a little about this season that I assure you will blow your head all over the room and make you shit your pants.
➡️ A WALK THROUGH SEASON 5
When I finished watching season 4 some time ago I could not imagine that they could overcome one of the best seasons since the level of madness, disorder and bad words were accompanied by a lot of blood and situations where the imagination could fly out of your head and manifest itself in body and soul in front of your eyes. Something I ask to expect from a series is that it doesn't make me waste my time and much less that it shows me something repetitive or a copy of other series since it is unpleasant to be coming across things that obviously won't surprise you and that you can easily label as good or bad without the need to watch them again, even with a new face.
That does not happen here and much less in this fifth season where they took the time to make each episode very different from the previous ones while maintaining the same essence that characterizes them and distinguishes them from the other series, this is already a gain and more when we know how difficult it is to keep the viewer happy and how complicated it is not to make episodes that have some resemblance to others in the same series. One of the things that keep me hooked is the way each episode connects with the previous ones and each season somehow follows the same timeline so that the viewer does not lose the sense of the series and can remember past characters without the need to make us an episode to remember who are the other characters since they keep as many of them on the scene so that we have that as fresh as a fish just out of the sea.
For this season we were treated to a total of 07 episodes filled with blood, sex scenes, drugs, controlled racism, semen, lies, time travel, gore and lots of violence. Each episode has no respect for the other as the level rises in each episode like there is no tomorrow.
EPISODE #1: nothing more perfect than starting off on the right foot and getting us in tune without wasting time on stupidities and they achieve that with this episode where we see Rick and Morty in a new adventure where they ran into an old enemy who has the power to control the sea and everything that is in front of his eyes although he is a bit bizarre and with special tastes.

➡️ Rick will have to do what is in his hands to avoid a disaster that will end his plans to continue traveling and will put in charge of his granddaughter Summer in a mission of life or death while the little Morty helps him with some errands where he will have to travel repeatedly in time to do what is in his hands to support his grandfather but he finds himself in a situation where the girl of his dreams visits him but at the worst time since he will have to lead not only with his grandfather but also with a generation of strange animals that thanks to a small accident make the decision to attack Morty. He finds himself in a situation where the girl of his dreams visits him but at the worst moment since he will have to lead not only with his grandfather but also with a generation of strange animals that thanks to a small accident make the decision to attack Morty and when he defends himself he creates a vacuum in time and space where an endless war starts and repeats itself from generation to generation while Morty only roasts in a matter of hours.
A perfect episode to start you off on the right foot and show you the promised path where the best entertainment you will ever see awaits.
EPISODE #2: In this episode we will encounter a messy and confusing situation where Rick will have to save his entire family from the attack of some space octopuses and the huge concern that the clones they use as decoys realize that we are clones and try to save their lives before the real ones, that is to say Rick's family, find them and kill them.
This generates a war between clones that gets increasingly bloody and pointless as it is hard to tell if the real ones are the real ones or just some clones trying to trick us into thinking they are the real ones and not the fake ones. All of this is so confusing that there comes a part where they are trapped by clones who want everything they have not been able to have and must fight to the death to get what they want,
An episode that will make you think if it is true what your eyes see or a decoy that only aims to confuse your mind.
➡️ EPISODE #3: an episode dedicated to love where the feelings of Morty come to light and impact on a girl with powers over humans where she has the ability to control the four elements at will and thus save the world from the destructive hand of man Morty blinded by his love will move away from his grandfather who will have to ask for help from his granddaughter Summer to accompany him on a new adventure where they will have to travel to 3 planets that are hours away from their end. will have to ask for help to his granddaughter Summer to accompany him in a new adventure where they will have to travel to 3 planets that are hours away from their end and take advantage of that moment to do whatever they want since all the inhabitants of those planets will violate all the rules and will do things they would have never imagined to do.
I think that from this episode onwards things will go up a level where the sex scenes between creatures and humans will take center stage and the blood will be even more intense showing that gore is nothing compared to the level of brutality that this series begins to develop as its episodes progress.
Don't be afraid to try something new or maybe you're afraid of what it might do to you.
➡️ EPISODE #4: as I had already told you the level of the series would break the limits of imagination and what is right making this the most grotesque episode and without any fear of God where the semen of Morty will be involved and the birth of a baby will condemn this family who falls lower and lower and they don't know the limits.
This because Rick can't leave his pants in place and commit anything crazy and then doesn't know how to get out of that mess without involving his whole family in the recess. I must be honest and confess that I was not expecting this episode which exceeded any expectations I might have had in mind and I assure you it will be the most bizarre thing your eyes will ever see after this episode you will have to pour holy water in your eyes.
➡️ EPISODE #5: If Morty's semen isn't enough you might be surprised that a car loses its virginity or even worse that a group of demons taunt the cute Jerry who will have a boys' night out with these beings who use him as their clown while the boys go on an adventure in their grandfather's car breaking some rules and running into situations that will turn Morty and Summer who want to surprise the new kid in school with a space adventure upside down.
What they didn't expect was for Rick's car to take control of the adventure and end all the fun and make a series of decisions that put the lives of other species in danger. It's one of those episodes where you think seeing animals, strange creatures and situations where everyone has coughing sex would be enough, but you run into a car that wants to lose its virginity if it doesn't end up with everything in its path.
➡️ EPISODE #6: Rick is the only character that I can say has had the opportunity to be on different adventures not only on different planets or in different timelines than his own but also the good fortune to fight alongside the President of the United States against turkeys who wish to control the world.
Here they will not only join forces but who has it bigger and make it clear that they need each other's help to save the earth from an invasion that can only make them look ridiculous to the rest of the world. We will see cool action scenes and the coming together of Beth and Summer in the face of man's oppression that doesn't give them a fighting chance in a new war of independence and they will have to do what they can to save our butts from the end of humanity.
In this episode you will be able to cry from laughter and also meet a new character that will only make you wonder what you are doing watching this series.
➡️ EPISODE #7: in this episode we will see how young Summer becomes addicted to pleasing her grandfather and how a family reunion between multiple Rick, Morty, Summer, Beth and Jerry go into the search for some Robot Sharks that if they put them all together can become a robot master. This all gets out of control when Rick doesn't understand that everything has a limit and wanting to make things bigger than they already are is a huge disaster that always leads them to the same place and total disaster.
These are the first 7 episodes that I have been lucky enough to see although I still have 3 episodes to go as there are a total of 10 episodes that are not yet available in the area where I am and I hope to finish watching this series that certainly exceeded any limit of what is right and sent everything to hell showing from space orgies to an incestuous baby you can see in this fifth season.
➡️ HOW MUCH OF A WHORE ARE THE SHOW'S CREATORS?
Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are the two crazy creators of this series that has gone around the world doing things in a different way and attracting a huge community that is always waiting for new seasons and enjoy the witticisms and follies of these characters that since 2013 has managed to step firmly into the world of animated series for an adult audience.
For anyone who follows this series it is no secret that it is a parody of the main characters of Back to the Future but taken to another level where everything is allowed and there is no fear of the unknown or forbidden. While I was Watching this season I was wondering how much of a son of a bitch someone must be to get all that craziness out of their head and then take it to television where millions of people from all over the world and with religious beliefs, different thoughts and ways of looking at life so different came across something that definitely breaks any rule of what is morally right.
We are clear that we live in an era where swearing on TV is nothing new and seeing boobs and asses is something that even in soap operas or TV series you can see constantly, but there are limits where going over the line has its consequences and that everyone does not have the stomach to digest at the first time without first leaving in vomit. I think that as long as there is an open-minded public and it is clear that it is a form of entertainment a little bizarre, it is still entertainment and this type of series will continue to be successful as long as they do not fall into the repetitive and we are all looking for good entertainment and get out of the everyday and morally acceptable, that's why Rick and Morty is a perfect series for that public that is not made of glass.
THE GOOD AND THE BAD
THE BAD
Each episode is still 23 minutes long and in my opinion should be increased to 30 minutes so we can continue to enjoy those chapters that look great but are not expanded enough due to lack of time.
THE GOOD THINGS
Lots of blood, gore scenes, rudeness, exaggerated and disturbing situations make this still a great series and far exceeds the series we are used to seeing within the adult genre.
Rick and Morty is a series that since its inception has fluctuated too much in terms of quality, after two brilliant seasons that could enter the Olympus of the best of the best in the history of modern television and considerable growth in terms of popularity. the third season was a disaster, full of some remarkable aspects yes, but generally disappointing if we compare it with the peak of its beginnings.
Of course, the fourth season was able to come back and delivered several brilliant chapters that showed us that the masterpiece of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon still had a lot to offer.
I mention all this because I feel that it is very important that they clearly understand what my expectations were when watching the first half of the fifth season: when I put Rick And Morty I look for a quality series but I also understand that it comes from a complex formula that often tends to disappoint.
For the latter, I honestly cannot feel angry when most of these episodes (5) manage to be entertaining but forgettable, much closer to what was seen in the third season than in those quality displays to which the series has spoiled us in its Best moments.
Today I would like to try something a little different and review each of the chapters individually, highlighting its flaws and virtues.
1.Mort Dinner Rick Andre
With this chapter the season starts and the truth is quite decent, my only problem with this chapter (And with most of the recent episodes of Rick And Morty) is that it has a rather strange rhythm, it feels like halfway between an episode. bottled and an ordinary story.
Rick is making a dinner for his nemesis and in the meantime we have a Morty subplot with Jessica. Rick's nemesis who is a kind of Maritime King, a quite comical character but his plot is a bit boring, the sub-plot with Jessica and Morty is much more fun and plays with much more interesting concepts.
However, I must admit that the recurring joke of making Morty's love life always fail is starting to tire a bit, they are good gags but the repetition is too constant (Another episode of the season develops another plot of the same nature).
2.Mortyplicity
Probably the best episode of the entire season, it is not particularly dense but it carries an interesting idea and executes it perfectly, leaving the memes aside.Rick And Morty is the best version of itself when it gets existential and Mortyplicity plays with it brilliantly.
This episode reminds me of the best moments of the fourth season, it still has a particular rhythm but it works well with the general plot.
In Mortyplicity we are presented with the idea of multiple clones of the Smith family, the peculiarity is that it is impossible to know who the real ones are.
I found the idea of constantly blurring who is real and who is not brilliant, it makes us focus more on the gags and less on worrying about our protagonists staying alive.
3.Rickconvenient Mort
I find it a bit sad that Mortyplicity was so good because literally none of the chapters that come after it manages to overcome it. Rickconvenient Mort is a pretty formulaic episode that has a couple of good jokes, not only is the Morty in love trope reused but Rick's plot fails to feel fresh, I like a couple of general ideas but it's probably the worst episode at the moment.
After a rather mediocre chapter we go back to trace the quality a bit with Ricksependence Spray, reminiscent of several previous chapters that exploit Morty to carry out hilarious stories that are built on his suffering, here a simple and effective premise is taken.
I do not have any big complaints about this chapter, perhaps the only thing is the predictability of its final product of the formulaic development of his story.
5.Amortycan Grickffiti
Another decent episode, there are some nice features and some quite boring, I like the design of the characters and the worlds that are visited here, I like the story of Jerry, Beth and Rick, while the one of Morty and Summer failed to keep me interested.
In the length of each of the explanations of the episodes you can see how progressively I was losing interest, HBO Max only has the first half of the season and we still have to wait for the others, but my expectations are still quite low.
Mortyplicity is the highlight of the season and I would like more chapters to meet this quality standard, the others can be entertaining but they are also essential, they do not take the characters to places that are too interesting, neither physically nor in terms of narrative evolution.
1.Mort Dinner Rick Andre
›Rick and Morty season 4 Review@kapitanrosomak1911d
Rick and Morty or getting lost and lost.
The Rick and Morty series is gaining immense popularity, and each season, despite having few episodes, is great.
Today I will discuss season 4, which, under the cover of funny jokes and funny insults, is actually another element that brings us closer to the character of Rick.
This season, Rick is crazy about left and right, throwing jokes and strange actions, but when no one is looking, he is the loneliest of all characters. Perhaps someday we will find out what happened in Rick's life and what made him put on so thick worth of gruffness. Season 4 is different, on the one hand we have this lightness, many episodes are mega funny, and the Polish translation is a real masterpiece many times referring to the current political situation.
The series focuses more on Rick's attempt to tell us another fragment of his crazy and sad story because despite the fact that everyone knows him as a drunk and a talkative whore, he has feelings. In season 4, Rick and Morty will fight aliens (facehaggers who say; D) will also fight Nazi snakes;) but also different variations of Rick's from other spacetime. The humor is at a high level and the line is still pleasing to the eye.
The humor here is very unrefined since suddenly Jesus appears who has to save Rick from a monotonous scenario. The series is aware of the fact that there is only animation and there are references to Netflix or other corporations more than once, you give a mention that you are afraid that they will be removed.
It is not often the case where 90% of it is funny and we get caught up in the stories of funny heroes to finally feel this strange emptiness not only related to the end of the season, but also with this poignant sadness of Rick who has been trying to kill for a long time because he lost his dream every mistake, the population becomes more and more alcoholic (maybe when he drinks, he pushes bad thoughts away for a while)
This season we will also learn how to have a dragon and what are the consequences of having a dragon, especially as he likes sexualizing the soul, but we will also meet an alternative version of Elon Musk (played by Elon Musk) who, together with Rick and the crew, will parody movies about heists and ridicule all this robbery convention.
Coming back to the snakes, this is a great theme with the Nazi snakes when they attack massively to get Adolf's snake; D (I fell with laughter)
Season 5 will be in June, the premiere is planned and probably so jsk previous seasons we will have a huge dose of fun and at the end again we'll get a fraction of Rick's life as he is so damn lonely because he is losing his best friends and sad because he has ruined his family life all his life and there is nothing he can do about it, even if he wants to.
Hey, bro. Don't you know that we live in a society? That is right, you, me, Becky, creepy uncle Donald, all of us. Society is the greatest feature that we feel ill toward, it is where we have Harvey Weinstein, and well, Harvey Weinstein himself. It is where we have Thriller by Michael Jackson and horror caused by Michael Jackson.
I will be starting and ending this post with the same episode of Rick and Morty, that is episode 7 of season 3: The Ricklantis Mixup. In this episode we see a society, where poverty and inequality prevails, unique people doing jobs way below their abilities all in the name of growing a prosper society. That society has hateful people educating it, corrupt police restraining it, and dirty politicians and business men controlling it. So.... how do we escape it?
Well before we answer that we have to switch our attention to the most outcast of them all:
The Joker: The Joaquin Phoenix Edition
Let's start with the hero who wore the same suit to all awards shows in 2019, did you guys get that? THE SAME SUIT. I kid of course, but why is that itself is considered heroic? Well, in spite how stupid it seems on paper, Joaquin Phoenix did pull our attention to the fact that we millions of dollars worth of wardrobes worn and taken off just for one awards show. His statement sounds silly to us who have been wearing the same jeans to work for the last 8 months, no? Just me? But it is also a message not to our, but his society. His message didn't matter and have been ridiculed, a theme we will see often throughout this post.
Back to the movie. In Joker, we see a man trying hard to belong to society that just doesn't understand and doesn't attempt to do so. See, the problem with a society is, while made of individuals, doesn't care about individuals, you only care about the greater message. "Down with the rich!", "socialism is the answer", "free market is the answer!", and "Down with this exam as I don't know the answers".
Society is bigger than us, society has a greater cause, and if it seems to care about us, then it is only in the context of the greater message. Simply put, at best, we are a tool to society. You are only glorified, in spite of all of your flaws, just to serve society's goal: hating the system that, and I say this with all sense of irony intact, doesn't value them as individuals.
Even at its noblest, society only cares about lives in what they resemble, not the individuals they truly are. How many massacres and terrorist attacks can you name? Probably many, maybe at least one per each country. If I mention 9/11 you'd feel sad for the souls of those who died in it and the responders who continue to suffer for it until today. But can you name one person who died on that fateful day?
And that is what Joker is, much like the joker card, it is what you put anywhere to make the score in the card game 51 and all its variations. Joker fits in to what society wants him to be, what he resembles, not who he is. After all, you probably don't remember the character's actual name. His name is Arthur by the way. Before Arthur became the Joker to everyone, he was "Happy" to his mother, as that is what she wanted him to be.
Arthur is just a man with a mental illness, he got bullied and hurt, then exacted revenge on those who bullied and hurt him. A sad tragedy on its own, but then came the Joker. A rebellious against a society of the rich and powerful. A revenger against those harming society. Meanwhile, while he joins them near the end, becoming the symbol they want him to be, Arthur remains Arthur, a man who had a bad life and imploded because.
Madness, as you know. Is like Gravity. All it takes is a little push.
Which leads me to my next point.
The Joker: The Heath Ledger Edition
What happens when you realize you don't belong in society? You simply realize that you don't. Doesn't matter your background, attributes, abilities, I.Q, SAT score, education level, and all that bullshit. What happens then? Well, Heath Ledger's Joker decided to get ahead of the curve and bring society to him.
What if you are the rebel against all society's norms that society wanted you to be? What if you are actually trying to bring it down? To take down a society, you have to destroy what it stands for and its intent to reach utopia as it overlooks you. The Joker attempts to destroy society while wondering "WHY SO SERIOUS"
So you stand against society, something society itself stands against. What happens then? Society rejects you because you stand against the same it stands against: itself.
Don't talk like you're one of them! You're not... even if you'd like to be. To them you're just a freak, like me. They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out. Like a leper. See, their morals, their "code"... it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these uh, these "civilized people", they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.
Ironically enough, Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is seen more in Batman than it Heath ledger's Joker. Batman became all they wanted, the hero the hoped for and the villain they desired. Society wanted Batman to be something, and Batman became it. See? It is all about what society wants you to be.
I just did what I do best. I took your little plan and I turned it on itself. Look what I did to this city with a few drums of gas and a couple of bullets. Hmmm? You know... You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds. Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair!”
Society even deems who is worthy of dying. Society have plans for everything and everyone. We have to stick together as a society, because that is the only thing we are allowed to do. Because
The universe is basically an animal. It grazes on the ordinary. It creates infinite idiots just to eat them.
Which leads me to my final point
Rick Sanchez
So, if the only thing you are good at to society is play a role that allows you it to express its rage, if it completely rejects you in spite of your abilities and attributes, you rebel against it, what if you have abilities and attributes simple too good for society? Here we turn to Rick Sanchez.
Now this is not exactly a Rick-exclusive issue, as we also see it in House M.D and Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen. But Rick resembles it at its best. Rick is the smartest man in the universe and all its timelines. He knows the reason and motive behind every action, he explored the universe and he finds it.... well.... boring.
The fascination we have in some things aren't shared with the smartest man in the universe. Rick does what everyone around him inspires to do. He focused on his work, unlike Beth, became dependable on his own unlike Jerry, he is the genius Morty could never be, and he has more sass than Summer could muster. Then society would attempt to bring him down to human level.
After becoming extraordinary, Rick is asked and expected to be simple. Once he has achieved everything, Rick is asked and expected to settle for nothing. The man who got tired of his grandson trying to write a heist movie so he put together the greatest heist only to show its stupidity because he was bored with his grandson constant nagging. The man whose vehicle battery is an entire planet, and travels to planets and faces monster just for a hobby is expected to play catch as a means for fun.
In Summary
There's so little to say about the expectations of society, it hates the different, the rebel, and the smart unless it suits the people in it. If you have a perk, you need to act normal, if you rebel, you need to adhere, and if you are smart, you need to be simple.
›Cartoon Review: Rick and Morty (up to season 3)@thatanimesnob3041d
Superficially, Rick and Morty is just another episodic referential comedy, like so many others. What makes it stand out is how it is a lot more focused on its theme and messages than anything else out there. To make this clear, lets compare it to other famous cartoon series:
• Unlike Family Guy which makes nonsensical references that are irrelevant to the plot, the references in Rick and Morty are not only part of the story, they are also part of its philosophy. The jokes are the point, and not something completely separate from whatever is going on. • Unlike South Park which references social events for making a point, Rick and Morty has a specific and steady meaning, which is not changing depending on the episode or contradicts statements in earlier episodes so it can be contrarian for the sake of being contrarian. • Unlike Metalocalypse that uses violence simply for shock factor, Rick and Morty is violent as part of its nihilistic philosophy. Life has no value because nothing is important in the big scheme of things.
• Unlike standard cartoons that promote sappy stuff like friendship and love on one hand, while abusing magic and technology on the other for a cheap way out of any problem, Rick and Morty consciously uses cheap ways out of any problem, which explains why everything feels so meaningless in the longrun. What is the point of having friends or being nice to others when you have the technology to do anything you like and get away with it?
• And above all that, while standard stories make it seem like the most important things in life can be bought or gained, and they can be enough to make you happy forever, Rick and Morty openly states what is actually going on but nobody wants to admit. We can never be permanently satisfied no matter how many things we bought, how rich we are, or what we achieved. The universe doesn’t give a shit about you and it won’t spare or favor you no matter who you are or what you have done. If a huge meteor falls on Earth, the just won’t survive, while the wicked will perish. Everyone will die regardless of social status or criminal record. We are all insignificant and nobody up cares about it.
All that sound very depressing at first, and seem to promote some pretty nasty ideologies such as atheism, hedonism, and amorality. It seems like they are a bad influence on people with a healthy mentality and should be avoided at all costs. But you see that is the true beauty of this series. It is not about escapism, it is not trying to make you feel special, and is not trying to tell you everything will somehow work out in the end. It is teaching you modesty by telling you, you don’t matter. You are not the center of the universe, you are not important, and you cannot abuse plot conveniences to have it your way and still pretend it is all for a good cause.
For example, nobody ever seems to point out in stories about alternative realities how pointless it is to bother making a difference in one of them, when there is an infinite number of realities out there. They just use it as cheap way to stop a crisis without any consequences. Not here. Granpa Rick is the guy who will always point out the futility of such a thing, and that all you are left with is having a good time while you are still alive. In most other series, he would be a mad scientist, a villain, the root of the problem. In this show he is the catharsis because he is abusing the power he has and is not delusional about its effects on any man’s mentality.
Which is also why he is not a wise sage out to teach the new generation everything he realized about the cosmos. He doesn’t care about that. The only reason he drags Morty around is because he got old and needs an assistant to be his guinea pig, or scapegoat, or someone to share his burden after a long life of being a failure as a family man. And it’s not like the rest of his relatives are any better despite not sharing his beliefs. They are a very dysfunctional family, caught up in petty squabbles, a proof that it doesn’t matter how much you understand about the universe, you can be an asshole regardless of intelligence.
If I sound like I am sticking too much on a theoretical level, it’s because that is what makes the show stand out. It’s not the set up since it’s just a plotless comedy about a dysfunctional family, and we have lots of those. The characters are also not standing out for what they are but for how they are thinking. I like the tributes to sci-fi but on their own they are not enough to excuse why I like this cartoon so much. It’s very self-aware, it’s not holding back at being nasty, and it’s pretty well presented in a medium that is almost exclusively aimed at kids and manchildren.
But just like all things, it cannot last forever and that happens to be the case with the negative backlash it got during the third season. As it happens with any show that gets too popular, it eventually devolves to silly memes and its fandom becomes unbearable at how it constantly makes the show sound smarter than it actually is. Which is not the case, since the message of the show is not that smart and you are not a genius for getting it.
Also, you can only get that much self-deprecation before it becomes annoying. Once you get used to the style of the show and realize nobody every changes despite the constant mindfucks he is experiencing, after a point it becomes mean and depressing. The third season felt like watching Watamote half the time, since by that point there is nothing new to expect out of it besides more creative ways to make more memes and the characters being assholes to each other. There is no catharsis, there is no pay-off and it borders masochism. It’s still a great cartoon but it grew past its prime. It showed all there was to be shown and has now become just another thing you are watching sadistically when you want to see gore and nihilism.
