Sakamoto Days: A Retired Hitman’s Tale@ridgette182d

Another year had passed, and finally I’m now on my first review for this year, and it will be about an anime series that has both of my favorite genres—action and comedy! The thing about these genres together is that they really complement each other well because whenever things get too serious with action scenes, the comedy in it balances the mood, and that’s why it is one of the genre pairings I usually look forward to when I’m looking for an anime to watch. Speaking of anime series to watch, I already made a list of what to watch this entire month, and most of them are from anime that got released last winter 2025, and for today, I’ll start with an action comedy that captured my interest last year, which I unfortunately wasn’t able to get back once its airing got completed, and yeah—it’s Sakamoto Days.

About the Anime

Sakamoto Days is a shounen anime that was released last winter 2025, and its first part aired from January 11, 2025, to March 22, 2025, and later on the second one from July 15, 2025, to September 23, 2025. This 22-episode-long action comedy anime was animated by TMS Entertainment and was based on the shounen manga written and illustrated by Yuuto Suzuki. Like I’ve mentioned, I was supposed to watch this anime last year, but unfortunately my second-half schedule became so hectic that I was forced to drop a lot of hours that were supposedly for my leisure and relaxation. And so, for this year, I planned to bounce back and finish the series I didn’t last year, and that includes this anime series that has both an interesting premise and characters.

As usual, it started with an introduction of our main character—Sakamoto Taro, who was a legendary hitman known for his superb skills and unmatched prowess in the art of killing. He was both feared and revered by his fellow hitmen, but all of a sudden this legendary hitman retired. It turns out he fell in love and decided to leave his dark past all behind. However, his retirement wouldn’t be as smooth as he hoped it would be because a lot of hitmen were out to get him. Both allies and rivals stormed in his seemingly ordinary life now, hoping that they can get the old Sakamoto back. Yet he’s a changed man now, and he won’t kill anymore, but that doesn’t prevent him from subduing any of his attackers in the most brutal way possible.

The threats became more apparent as a bounty was put on his head and an unknown killer who leaves an X mark was on the loose. With his partner and hitman friends, Sakamoto vows to protect the town, the store, and the family he has—even if that includes sinking again in the muck that he once escaped from.

The thing about action comedy is that no matter how cliché the plot is, it doesn’t bore me at all. The plot wasn’t that unique; rather at first, I found it uninteresting because it was about a legendary something again who’s too perfect and ideal, but then came my favorite icebreaker, and that is when he converted! Unlike most of my otaku friends’ preference, I like Sakamoto better when he’s already chubby. Like Osaragi, I find him really cute and much more likable when he’s in his coach Anzai’s physique. Also, I definitely enjoyed its pacing and how it made sure I wouldn’t be bored. Of course, there are cliché episodes like the theme park—the famous theme park where action mostly happens. When I watched that episode, I immediately knew that something fun would happen, and indeed it happened. The sugar bunny scene was so entertaining and funny because I really thought that part was like a dead end for Shin, but it turned out he still had some tricks left.

I have mentioned that this anime has two parts, and both of them have eleven episodes, which aired in different seasons. The first season was heavily grounded on the life of Sakamoto after retirement and also the introduction of other characters, which is a pretty usual anime format. I have no qualms about that, but I kinda expected something more exciting, but still I guess I again expected it early because as soon as I got used to the cozy pacing of the first part, the second part kinda caught me off guard. Major fight after fight happened, and it wasn’t long before the main antagonist was unveiled. I didn’t expect that the revelation would be this early because I did expect that it’s somewhere in the middle of the second season. I guess I was wrong about a lot of my assumptions about this anime, but there’s something that came right, and it’s my expectation on its animation.

Despite the initial backlash I heard about its allegedly bad animation, I still assumed that its animation would be decently executed. Honestly, the animation wasn’t really that great as Demon Slayer or Violet Evergarden, but still it has its own charm, and I enjoyed it at most. It was able to emulate the mood and vibe I get from reading the manga, and for me that’s what really matters. As long as I still felt the essence of the characters I’ve read, it's fine to me. As for its art style, I like how it’s almost the same as the manga. Of course, the level of detail in manga is clearly indisputable—like, it’s indeed hard to animate Osaragi’s lacy dress, so it’s understandable they kind of toned down the details on it. Also, I liked how some shots look really good and cool, and I can’t help but admire them. Further, its soundtrack definitely elevated my viewing experience—not only taking the mood up a notch but also setting up the vibe even in its opening. I totally loved how Run Sakamoto Run sounds, like its tune is both familiar and new to me, and it definitely makes the opening hard to skip haha.

Overall, for me this anime is really an enjoyable one, not only because of the hype I get from its action scenes but also because of how fun most of the scenes were. I haven’t read most of its source material, but judging by its visuals there, I can understand why some fans are expecting more of the animation. Like I said, it wasn’t an excellent animation, yet nevertheless it’s still enjoyable and fun to watch. So, will I recommend it? Yes, I can...however, don’t expect much uniqueness in it because there are really a lot of familiar tropes and concepts that I’ve seen in other shounen anime here. But if you have no problem with that, and plus if you’re up for a fun and thrilling anime with cool hitmen, then maybe this review is your sign to watch Sakamoto Days!

Is it possible for sequels or subsequent seasons to be better than the original? – Often not, but in some very specific cases, the continuation of the story can indeed end up being spectacular. This is what happens with Sakamoto Days; the second 11 episodes are truly insane compared to the relatively "calm" first 11, at least that's how I see it. When I mention John Wick, it's because there's a very noticeable similarity between the character, Taro Sakamoto, the plot, and even several locations and styles we see in the anime. This doesn't bother me, but I do find it interesting.

¿Es posible que las segundas partes o temporadas puedan ser mejor que lo visto previamente? - muchas veces no, pero en algunos casos muy específicos si pasa que la continuación de la historia termina resultando espectacular. Con Sakamoto Days pasa esto que estoy hablando, los segundos 11 episodios son verdaderamente una locura si los comparamos con la "tranquilidad" de los once iniciales o por lo menos así me parece. Cuando hago referencia a John Wick es porque hay un parecido muy razonable con el personaje, Taro Sakamoto, con la trama, y hasta con varias locaciones y formas que vemos en el anime. Esto es algo que no me molesta pero si me parece curioso.

This second part focuses precisely on the unresolved issue from the first: trying to discover who Slur is, why he wants to kill Sakamoto, facing several new characters who are after our protagonist, and finally infiltrating the "JCC" (Assassin School) to learn the true nature of Slur's plans. Given how the first 11 episodes ended, it was clear that this would start off strong, and that's exactly what happened. One of the things that stands out is the action and the fights; I would say there isn't a single episode without some hand-to-hand combat. It seems that the perfect way to resolve everything is through physical confrontation, which is amazing, especially considering how Sakamoto handles himself in these situations.

Esta segunda parte se centra justamente con el problema que quedó de la primera: tratar de descubrir quién es Slur, por que quiere matar a Sakamoto, hacer frente a varios personajes nuevos que van por la cabeza de nuestro protagonista y finalmente infiltrarse en la "JCC" (Escuela para asesinos) para saber de raíz los planes de este tal Slur. Por la forma en como terminaron los primeros 11 capítulos se sabía que esto iba a comenzar fuerte, cosa que terminó sucediendo. De las cosas que me destacan es la acción y las peleas que se van dando, creería que no hay episodio en el que no existan unos golpes, pareciera que el medio perfecto para resolver todo sea el enfrentamiento cuerpo a cuerpo, cosa que es increíble básicamente por la forma en como Sakamoto maneja todo.

The added value I saw was in the new characters; in fact, I think they added a lot of them, and they were all very different, with most of them being assassins. Some of them had the typical backstory revealed through flashbacks, which helps the viewer understand why they are where they are. This technique is used more and more because it's effective, it works, and it prevents the story from being too flat and simplistic. In fact, I found the backstories of two of them particularly compelling (I'm talking about the girl with white hair and the young man with brown hair). And later in the anime, we continue to meet more characters who are also quite interesting. This Sakamoto Days universe, which I imagine will be even richer in the second season, promises to be very diverse.

El valor agregado que vi fueron los nuevos personajes, de hecho creo que añadieron a muchos y todos muy diferentes siendo la mayoría de ellos asesinos. A algunos de ellos le aplicaron, la muy típica ya, historia de trasfondo a manera de flashbacks para lograr entender el porqué están en el lugar en el que se encuentran. Este recurso cada vez es más usado porque es útil, porque funciona y porque hace que la historia no sea tan plana y vacía. De hecho la vida de dos de ellos me parecieron muy top (hablo de la chica de cabello blanco y del joven cabello marrón). Pero es que más adelante en el anime seguimos conociendo más personajes que siguen siendo bastante interesantes. Este universo de Sakamoto Days para la segunda temporada que imagino se vendrá estará muy variopinto.

The plot itself never gets boring, because, as I said, there's always something interesting happening. It's an anime with constant action; it's not like the first part, where there were a few filler episodes. Here, every episode moves the story forward. The fight scenes are visually stunning, the animation is top-notch, everything is dynamic and fluid, and there's a lot of detail. Given its nature, this anime features a lot of violence—there's plenty of blood, use of firearms and melee weapons, decapitations, and much more. All of these elements combine to make what we see on screen truly enjoyable. The thing is, none of this would be possible without Sakamoto and his team's abilities. His fighting style, his tactical awareness, his use of the environment, his intelligence, and his superhuman strength all combine to make this a truly spectacular show.

La trama en si no aburre porque como dije siempre hay algo que ver, es un anime de una acción constante, no es como la primera parte en donde podía haber un par de capítulos de relleno; acá no pasa, aquí cada episodio tiene un avance en la historia. Las peleas visualmente están muy bien hechas, la animación está muy bien lograda, todo es dinámico, fluido, hay mucho detalle. Al ser de la naturaleza que es estamos ante algo en donde la violencia está a la orden del día, hay mucha sangre, uso de armas de fuego, armas blancas, decapitaciones y un largo etc. Todo esto se une para que se disfrute mucho lo que vemos en pantalla. La cosa es que nada de esto es posible si las habilidades de Sakamoto y compañía no existieran, la forma de pelear de él, el como ve los escenarios, como usa su entorno y su mente junto a la fuerza sobrehumana que posee hace que ver esto sea un espectáculo.

The plot of John Wick is well-known: an assassin with a bounty on his head, pursued by hundreds of other assassins. There's an organization that trains them (as seen in Ballerina), and they have a headquarters that's a hotel. Sakamoto Days is practically identical; there are slight differences in the character development, but the core premise is the same. In fact, when the anime shows one of the assassins' headquarters, it looks exactly like the Continental Hotel. As I said, it doesn't bother me because it's well-executed, and I don't mind the similarities. Overall, I really enjoyed these 11 episodes; I watched them all in three days because they're so addictive—you won't regret it. If you haven't seen this anime, I highly recommend it. It's definitely worth watching; it's one of those new series that deserves attention because it has everything: comedy, action, drama, and violence. Here's the trailer below.

La trama de John Wick es bien conocida: un asesino por el que llega a haber una recompensa y cientos de otros asesinos van tras él. Hay una organización que los entrena (lo vemos en Ballerina) y tienen una sede que es un hotel. Acá en Sakamoto Days es exactamente igual, hay ligeros matices con respecto al desarrollo de los personajes pero el fondo es idéntico. De hecho en al anime cuando muestran una de las sedes de estos asesinos resulta que es igual al Continental. Ya lo dije, no me molesta porque es algo que está muy bien hecho y no tengo problemas con las similitudes. En líneas generales estos 11 episodios los disfruté mucho, los vi en 3 días porque son realmente adictivos, no tienen pérdida. Si no has visto este anime te lo recomiendo mucho, vale mucho la pena, es de esas nuevas historias que merecen ser vistas porque lo tiene todo: comedia, acción, drama, violencia. Plot

Of all the action anime I've seen in my life, I've only managed to find a few that blend the everyday with action and humor in a way that doesn't look bad, but rather is fun and entertaining to watch. Obviously, the first choice that comes to mind is Spy x Family, an anime that I recommend everyone to watch because of how excellent it is in every way. But there is also this anime we are talking about today, which seems to have been based both on the previous mentioned work and also on the story of the famous action movie saga called John Wick. But well, we'll talk about that later. What I do want to tell you at once is that, despite its very generic plot and its characteristic style of humor, this anime manages to entertain very well with its action scenes and the personality of the great Tarō Sakamoto. It doesn't have many plot twists, nor drama beyond the ordinary. It's not an anime that I would classify as one of the best of the genre, but it does serve to have a good time, so don't expect too much from this work. Since it aired earlier this year, I didn't see the point of comparing it to the second season of Solo Leveling (this being an action/fantasy anime that has no comparison in itself due to its high level of production). However, I understand that in terms of audiovisuals it has caused some disappointment to some fans. Personally, I'm not complaining about anything, since it's not a work from which I expected much at the beginning, to be honest.

Pero bueno, de eso hablaremos más adelante. Lo que sí quiero decirles de una vez es que, a pesar de su trama tan genérica y su estilo de humor característico, este anime consigue entretener muy bien con sus escenas de acción y la personalidad del gran Tarō Sakamoto. No tiene muchos giros de trama, ni drama más allá de lo común. No es un anime que catalogaría como de los mejores del género, pero sí sirve para pasar un buen rato, así que no esperen mucho de esta obra. Desde su emisión a principios de este año no le veía sentido que lo estuvieran comparando con la segunda temporada de Solo Leveling (siendo este un anime de acción y fantasía que no tiene comparación en sí por su gran nivel de producción). Sin embargo, entiendo que en cuanto a lo audiovisual ha causado ciertas decepciones hacia algunos fans. Personalmente, no me quejo de nada, ya que no es una obra de la cual esperaba gran cosa al principio, la verdad.

As I mentioned before, the story of this anime focuses mainly on Tarō Sakamoto, a legendary retired ex-hired assassin who now has a quiet life tending his own business with his current wife and daughter. He will be visited by different assassins, some of them his old companions, such as Shin Asakura, his former partner who has the ability to hear the thoughts of the people around him. On the other hand, there will also be assassins who will come for him to kill him because there is a huge bounty on his name in the underworld. While Tarō gets companions who share with him his new ideology of not killing, he will be constantly pursued by assassins who are dangerous and have unique abilities. His job is to go unnoticed, have a quiet life, defeat his enemies and not murder anyone in the process. However, this will be a challenge that will become increasingly difficult to meet, as even the same members of the elite assassin organization that Tarō worked for in the past will also come after him. Yes, I know what you'll be thinking and that's exactly what just occurred to me while writing this post: it's as if they used the story of one of the John Wick movies to make this anime. More specifically the part about being a former assassin who is now wanted by the whole world. And here's the irony of this plot, since it seems that it doesn't have many traits of being something original, but people still like it.

And it is logical to think so since the protagonist, Tarō Sakamoto, is practically the same combat and defense expert assassin we see in Hollywood, but without the Keanu Reeves look, retired, obese and with a new no-kill rule. It's like watching a mashup of John Wick meets Spy x Family, really. Since there are even psychics here with regards to Shin's case who can hear the thoughts of others. No wonder the same creator was inspired by both works seeing so many similarities. But it's still interesting nonetheless, as it's common to know stories about former assassins and criminals who are now living a quiet and normal life while trying to adapt to society. Although this way of humanizing murderers is something that I don't really agree with, the story in general catches you both visually and also for the amount of details in its plot, episodes and characters. And speaking of characters, we can make it clear that Tarō Sakamoto is literally what I mentioned before, only with a way of being and a somewhat characteristic humor, as well as a unique style of combat and defense. It's curious to see a legend be a business owner, a good husband and a great father. Likewise, as entertaining and flashy as Sakamoto is, it doesn't make him as special as other protagonists in other well-known action works. On the other hand, the supporting characters in this anime fail to make as much of an impact as its protagonist does. I think the one that can come closest to being a standout character is Shin because of his backstory. But otherwise, I don't see much effort in developing good characters, although sometimes they may make a good attempt.

Su labor es pasar desapercibido, tener una vida tranquila, vencer a sus enemigos y no asesinar a nadie en el proceso. Sin embargo, esto será un desafío que cada vez se volverá más difícil de cumplir, ya que hasta los mismos miembros de la organización de asesinos de élite en el que Tarō trabajó en el pasado también irán a por él. Si, ya sé lo que estarán pensando y es exactamente eso lo que se me acabó de ocurrir al escribir este post: es como si hubieran usado la historia de una de las películas de John Wick para hacer este anime. Más en específico la parte de ser un ex-asesino que ahora es buscado por todo el mundo. Y he aquí la ironía de esta trama, ya que por lo visto no tiene muchos rasgos de ser algo original, pero que aún así a la gente le gusta.

Y es lógico pensarlo así ya que el protagonista, Tarō Sakamoto, es prácticamente el mismo asesino experto en combate y defensa que vemos en Hollywood, pero sin el aspecto de Keanu Reeves, retirado, obeso y con una nueva regla de no matar. Es como ver una mezcla de John Wick con Spy x Family, la verdad. Ya que hasta psíquicos hay aquí con respecto al caso de Shin que puede escuchar los pensamientos de los demás. No me extraña que el mismo creador se haya inspirado en ambas obras al ver tantas similitudes. Pero igual es interesante, a pesar de todo, ya que es común conocer historias sobre ex-asesinos y criminales que ahora están viviendo una vida tranquila y normal mientras intentan adaptarse a la sociedad. Si bien esta forma de humanizar a asesinos es algo que no comparto mucho, la historia en general atrapa tanto por lo visual como también por la cantidad de detalles que hay en su trama, episodios y personajes. Y hablando de personajes, podemos dejar claro que Tarō Sakamoto es literalmente lo que mencioné antes, solo que con una forma de ser y un humor un tanto característico, además de un estilo único de combate y defensa. Es curioso ver a una leyenda ser el dueño de un negocio, un buen esposo y un gran padre. Igualmente, por muy entretenido y llamativo que sea Sakamoto, no lo hace tan especial como otros protagonistas de otras obras de acción conocidas. Por otro lado, los personajes secundarios en este anime no logran impactar tanto como lo hace su protagonista. Creo que el que más se le puede acercar a ser un personaje destacable es Shin por su historia. Pero de resto no veo que se esmeren mucho en desarrollar buenos personajes, aunque a veces puede que hagan un buen intento.

Last but not least, let's talk about the technical and visual aspect of this anime. Being this the most criticized thing about this series since the beginning of its broadcasting this year, I consider that the animation it has is of very good quality. Of course, if we compare it to the amazing work done by no less than two of the biggest and most important animation studios of the time with Spy x Family; it is clear that Sakamoto Days is not even close to it. But since I'm not one to make many comparisons, I will say that the visual style of this series is particularly excellent. With a good character design, good animation, a striking color palette and visual effects that simply thrill you with how well they are used. I say this especially with the battles -which is what this anime has the most- where we see several effects of movement, blows and impulses that call a lot of attention. And here is another important point; the visual details. Just mentioning the scene in which Sakamoto deflects a bullet with a ball (I don't know what kind it was), the level of detail that this series has is quite noticeable. Of course, this is not seen 100% in every episode, making us see at certain times some animation a little mediocre. But nothing that completely ruins the experience offered by this anime, with excellent sound effects and a soundtrack that catches, transmits and enhances the scenarios as no other work does. Oh, and the Opening, of course, is one of my undisputed favorites. In short, this is an anime to watch, enjoy and be entertained with all the action and humor it has to offer.

Personally, I give it a rating of 8.5/10 as far as the action and comedy genre is concerned.

Sin embargo, al ser de esas historias en las que en cada episodio conocemos a un personaje o asesino nuevo, es difícil diferenciar cuales son antagonistas o villanos y cuáles no. Pero tampoco es imposible, ya que solo es ver quiénes tienen una historia para contar y quiénes no. Un detalle importante a mencionar es que lo que se ha visto hasta ahora de este anime es solo la primera de las dos partes que se emitirán este año (la segunda parte se emitirá en julio). Pero bueno, para ser un tanto más general, Sakamoto Days consigue capturar y entretener al espectador desde el principio con personajes llamativos y una historia repleta de acción y batallas únicas. Al fin y al cabo esto es lo que más se vende y se consume en esta industria, ¿no? Por último, pero no menos importante, hablemos ahora del apartado técnico y visual que tiene este anime. Siendo esto lo que más se criticó de esta serie desde el principio de su emisión este año, considero que la animación que tiene es de muy buena calidad. Claro está, si lo comparamos al asombroso trabajo que realizó nada menos que dos de los estudios de animación más grandes e importantes de la época con Spy x Family; está claro que Sakamoto Days no le llega ni a los talones. Pero como no soy de hacer muchas comparaciones, diré que en particular está excelente el estilo visual que posee esta serie. Con un buen diseño de personajes, una buena animación, una paleta de colores llamativa y unos efectos visuales que simplemente te estremecen con lo bien utilizadas que están. Esto lo digo sobre todo con las batallas -lo cual es lo que más tiene este anime- donde vemos varios efectos de movimiento, golpes e impulsos que llaman muchísimo la atención. Y aquí otro punto importante; los detalles visuales. Y es que con solo mencionar la escena en la que Sakamoto desvía una bala con una pelota (no sé de qué tipo era) se nota bastante el nivel de detalles que tiene esta serie. Claro, esto no se ve al 100% en cada episodio, haciendo que veamos en ciertos momentos alguna que otra animación un poco mediocre. Pero nada que arruine por completo la experiencia que ofrece este anime, con unos efectos de sonido excelentes y una banda sonora que atrapa, transmite y enaltece los escenarios como no lo hace ninguna otra obra. Ah, y el Opening, por supuesto, es de mis favoritos indiscutiblemente. En resumen, este es un anime para ver, disfrutar y entretenerse con toda la acción y el humor que este tiene para ofrecer.

Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8.5/10 en lo que respecta al género de la acción y la comedia.

At the beginning, I have to admit that maybe it was not so much to my liking, because sometimes what happened felt exaggerated, both in the fights and in the comedy. However, as it progressed, the anime took on a more serious tone that I liked more and more.

Also, I went back to a genre that I had a bit abandoned, such as assassins. I think the last one I had seen was Assassination Classroom, although, to be honest, I don't remember much about it. I'm not a big fan of the genre either, but what really encouraged me to watch it were people's opinions, saying that the manga was great and had spectacular fights. I had to check it out: could it be true? Could it be a lie? I couldn't leave myself in doubt, although that also generated criticism from the public. But I don't want to get more entangled, so let's talk about fatty Sakamoto and his grocery store.

The anime puts us in the shoes of Sakamoto, known in his guild as the legendary assassin, an invincible who would make anyone tremble. However, our story is not about that Sakamoto, but about one who has left his past behind. He is now married and has retired from the trade to focus on his family and his grocery store. But there is one unbreakable rule: once you're a killer, you can't quit. The only way out is death, so Sakamoto will have to face various enemies who want to finish him off.

All this chaos begins with the arrival of Shin, a former colleague of Sakamoto with the ability to read minds. His mission is to get Sakamoto back in business or kill him if he refuses. In the end, Shin fails and ends up working in Sakamoto's store. Over time, Sakamoto's team grows (joining members of the mafia and even a sniper), forming a family with a single rule: no killing, while facing adversity.

So far, we only have 11 chapters, which serve as an introduction to the upcoming arc. For the moment, the plot focuses more on comedy, but as it progresses, it takes on a more serious tone, especially with the appearance of the main villain in the last chapters (who, I assume, will not be the final boss). Before facing him, we will have to deal with the “semi-bosses” that appeared in the last episode.

The characters are very varied, with marked and easily identifiable personalities. The fight scenes do not stand out for their animation, but the choreographies are well done. One of my favorites is Shin disguised as a rabbit fighting an assassin who wanted to eliminate Sakamoto. Another striking aspect is the color palette: very vibrant, but it gets darker at serious moments, reflecting the constant switching between action and comedy. I liked the comedy a lot, although I didn't find the nosebleed mobster funny.

In conclusion, I hope the second part comes soon to see how this battle is resolved. I hope they don't extend the plot for a second season, because then it would lose interest. For now, everything is very entertaining and enjoyable, although I feel that this anime has gone a bit unnoticed. I thought it would be more popular, but apparently in Japan it is a hit and is on the charts.

Of course, I don't forget the criticisms I mentioned at the beginning: some fans say that the animation doesn't do justice to the manga. I can't confirm this, as I've only seen the anime, and overall it looks good to me. I suspect that most viewers are readers of the manga. In any case, I hope that in the next part, if they focus on fights, the animation will be up to par. In the meantime, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

¡Hola, amigos de Hive! Hoy les vengo a hablar de un anime que disfruté mucho la temporada pasada. Estuve muy pendiente de él, tanto que cada sábado esperaba con ansias el nuevo capítulo. Al principio, he de admitir que quizás no era tanto de mi agrado, porque en ciertas ocasiones lo que ocurría se sentía exagerado, tanto en las peleas como en la comedia. Sin embargo, conforme avanzaba, el anime fue tomando un tono más serio que me gustó cada vez más.

Además, volví a un género que tenía un poco abandonado, como es el de asesinos. Creo que el último que había visto era Assassination Classroom, aunque, siendo sincero, no recuerdo mucho del tema. Tampoco es que sea un gran aficionado al género, pero lo que realmente me animó a verlo fueron las opiniones de la gente, que decían que el manga era buenísimo y tenía peleas espectaculares. Tenía que comprobarlo: ¿será verdad? ¿Será mentira? No podía quedarme con la duda, aunque eso también generó críticas por parte del público. Pero no quiero enredarme más, así que hablemos del gordito Sakamoto y su tienda de víveres.

El anime nos pone en la piel de Sakamoto, conocido en su gremio como el asesino legendario, un invencible que haría temblar a cualquiera. Sin embargo, nuestra historia no trata de ese Sakamoto, sino de uno que ha dejado atrás su pasado. En conclusión, espero que la segunda parte llegue pronto para ver cómo se resuelve esta batalla. Ojalá no alarguen la trama para una segunda temporada, porque ahí perdería interés. Por ahora, todo es muy entretenido y disfrutable, aunque siento que este anime ha pasado un poco desapercibido. Pensé que sería más popular, pero al parecer en Japón es un éxito y está en las listas de popularidad.

Eso sí, no olvido las críticas que mencioné al principio: algunos fans dicen que la animación no le hace justicia al manga. Yo no puedo confirmarlo, pues solo he visto el anime, y en general me parece bien. Sospecho que la mayoría de los espectadores son lectores del manga. En cualquier caso, espero que en la próxima parte, si se centran en peleas, la animación esté a la altura. Mientras tanto, habrá que esperar a ver qué pasa.

Y acaba de terminar la primera temporada de sakamoto days, y debo decir que es un anime bastante divertido, lo pongo más o menos a la parte yakuza amo de casa, ya que el animé tampoco pretende ser algo más hasta los momentos, simplemente es un animé divertido con dosis de acción, en lo cual mayormente cada situación se resuelve en un solo episodio o en dos episodios y listo, incluso lo podemos ver como una especie de John wick pero enfocado en la comedia.

After Shin is knocked unconscious by the fight, he wakes up to eat with Sakamoto's family. There he understands why he gave up his life as a hitman and decides to give up trying to assassinate him. Later he is offered a job as a stock boy at the market and so ends the first chapter.

This series left me thinking about a question. It's amazing how a man in love can give up so much for his girl. It's wonderful how a man who loves can change and adapt for his woman. This anime contains almost no romance, but it was something that caught my attention.

The thing about this series is that it grabbed me instantly. Which is rare for me. I almost never get hooked with a single chapter. I found its story very interesting and its rhythm dynamic. Its comedy is just right and necessary, without overdoing it. I missed a bit of character development, but I can't ask for much with only 2 chapters.

Lo que pasó con esta serie es que me atrapó al instante. Cosa que es raro que me pase. Casi nunca me engancho con un solo capítulo. Su historia me pareció muy interesante y su ritmo dinámico. Su comedia es la justa y necesaria, sin abusar. Me faltó un poco de desarrollo de personaje, pero no puedo pedir mucho con solo 2 capítulos.

From what I've seen, it received quite a lot of criticism in its animation section. I don't really understand this. I think people are sometimes too demanding. In particular, I thought the animation was good. It's nothing great, but I think it's good enough. As long as it's better than the Blue Lock animation of the first chapters, I'll be satisfied 😅

Personally, I'm going to keep an eye out for the release of each chapter. As I said at the beginning, it managed to hook me. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to wait several days to see a new episode, but it's worth it. It's been a long time since I've found a series that makes me feel this way. For that reason, I want to recommend it to everyone who watches.

as for me I got sick, grr...musst be the weather because my allergies are acting up, i hate myself for being sensitive but that hasn’t stopped me from drawing Taro Sakamoto from "Sakamoto Days." Has anyone checked out the first or second episodes yet? i got hooked and I keep on wanting for more...

I really love anime where the main character is super strong but gets tamed by their partner. It’s just so cute! What really made me laugh, though, is sakamoto's face looks just like Coach Anzai's HAHAHA Does anyone else remember him from "Slam Dunk"? You can totally see that the artist is a fan of his. It’s exciting to see an anime/manga that’s inspired by Coach Anzai! It feels like we’re getting a different take on him, almost like we’re peeking into another universe where he’s not a coach or something. He has that strict vibe but is also kind of a softie. And I keep cracking up at the famous meme of Sakuragi bouncing off Coach Anzai's chin, now fans are recreating sakuragi doing it with Sakamoto and getting punched instead! HAHAHA!

do you think it looks just like him?

This anime is already one of my faves. I just wish they’d release the episodes faster because I'm tempted to read the manga and spoil it for myself!

After a couple of months i decided to watch an anime. To tell you the truth i had forgotten that the new anime season just started so there are a lot of new titles out there. One that caught my eye is Sakamoto days. From what i understood this anime was released through Netflix but the twist is that not all episodes are released together it's again the usual one-episode-per-day kind of thing.

So far there are only 2 episodes out, i don't know how many will be but most likely 12 or 24. Now this is quite an interesting and fun anime/manga and i would review just yet with only 2 episodes out, but i have read the manga as well. There are almost 200 chapters out.

Plot

The plot is pretty straightforward. There was once a legendary hitman called Sakamoto. Nobody could beat him and he could take any job. At one point though he fell in love with a woman and decided to quit. 5 years passed and Sakamoto had a small convenience store where he ran it with his wife. He also has a young daughter and he gained a hella lot of weight.

A young hitman named Shin who apparently can read minds and used to work with Sakamoto is tasked with finding him, making him come back or else he is tasked to kill him. Ofc this isn't an easy task as not only he loses the fight from a fatso but because he realizes that Sakamoto wants to live happily with his family he asks his Boss to die instead.

Ofc the boss disagrees and try to kill Shin as well who is saved by Sakamoto and is now working for him in the store. The only rule is to never kill people. Will we see a happily ever after, or will more hitmen come for them?

What i Liked and What I Didn't

To tell you the truth as far as it concerns the animation, the first 2 episodes that are out are pretty good. The animation is awesome, the voice acting is always spot on, and there is blood as well. The fight scenes are pretty awesome and there is even slow motion in some scenes.

The only thing that i don't know yet is whether they will rush it or not in comparison to the manga. Now regarding the manga, and ofc without revealing anything this is quite an interesting one. The design is freaking awesome and even though i thought that it would be a silly one soon it get quite serious which i really liked. Honestly i don't have any negative things to say.

I won't provide a rating for the anime yet, but for the manga i would easily say an 8.5 or 9/10.
