Here we find a group of super quirky characters, each with their own charm, which makes the anime feel lively and fun. We have three teenagers and an adult character who guides them, a classic shonen formula that, honestly, never goes out of style and I think works wonderfully.
I find the main character, Rudo, to be quite endearing😭💖 Despite having lived in poverty and suffered a tremendous loss followed by a great injustice, he quickly adapts to the new world of the Abyss and learns how things work without losing his humility. He is thoughtful, sensible, and although he often acts on impulse, he genuinely listens to others, which helps him make smart decisions. Honestly, I really like this character and feel like he's a little brother I need to protect🥹.
At his side are Zanka and Riyo, and let me tell you: Rudo's first interactions with them are pure gold 😆 They are extremely awkward for Rudo, and I loved that because they are not empty or forced conversations; every dialogue has weight and feels human. Some scenes make you laugh, others make you uncomfortable, but they always generate something, and that's exactly what I like about anime and manga.

I love the color palette because it goes hand in hand with the plot: raw, dirty, intense tones that reinforce the unjust and hostile world in which the story unfolds. Nothing feels out of place; everything adds to the atmosphere and draws you into that universe from the very beginning.
The character design is simply wonderful. And now that I'm reading the manga, I can say with complete confidence: Kei Urana is incredibly talented. Her drawings are beautiful, detailed, and expressive. The characters' facial expressions are perfect for every situation; they convey real emotions, thoughts, discomfort, anger, tenderness... everything.
