Hasta que por fin pude terminar de ver esta serie, llevaba días postergándola, recuerdo haber visto el primer capítulo, pero me olvide de ella, sin embargo, logre retomarla, y pude terminar de mirarla, una serie interesante, algo distinta, con un poco de drama, conflictos, una historia que contar.

Protagonizada por este gran actor como lo es Mark Ruffalo, el cual estamos acostumbrados en películas, llenas de acción, suspenso, sin duda, en esta serie, también logro mostrar su gran talento, para cualquier estilo.

Until I finally got around to finishing this series, I had been putting it off for days. I remember watching the first episode, but then I forgot about it. However, I managed to pick it up again and finish watching it. It's an interesting series, somewhat different, with a bit of drama, conflict, and a story to tell.

Starring the great actor Mark Ruffalo, whom we are used to seeing in action-packed, suspenseful films, he undoubtedly shows his great talent for any style in this series as well.

Sinopsis:

Esta serie consta de 7 capítulos, y sigue la historia de un agente del FBI, el cual es encargado de realizar una investigación, relacionada con una cadena de robos en casas de drogas, guiado por un hombre de familia, todo esto desarrolla conflictos y enredos, creando una atmosfera tensa, con el objetivo de atrapar a esos delincuentes, sin mencionar que debe lidiar con sus propios conflictos personales.

Synopsis:

This series consists of seven episodes and follows the story of an FBI agent who is tasked with investigating a string of robberies at drug houses, guided by a family man. This leads to conflicts and entanglements, creating a tense atmosphere as he tries to catch the criminals, not to mention dealing with his own personal conflicts.

Opinión:

Como dije, esta serie comencé a verla, y aunque la deje por un tiempo, quise terminar de ver como terminaba, ya que al principio era algo confusa y lenta, como toda historia, la acción comienza ya cuando está en sus últimos capítulos, es donde vamos entendiendo un poco, de que se trata, cuál es la conexión entre los personajes, y que oculta cada uno.

Mark interpreta a un padre de familia, no solo es un simple agente, es un hombre lleno de tristeza, dolor y culpa, se podría decir, a pesar de todo, siente la responsabilidad de cumplir con su trabajo, llevando a cabo, dicha investigación, para atrapar a los delincuentes, lo que no se imaginó, que el líder de esta banda delictiva, no era el monstruo que él esperaba encontrar.

As I said, I started watching this series, and although I stopped for a while, I wanted to finish watching how it ended, since at first it was somewhat confusing and slow. Like every story, the action begins in the last few episodes, which is where we start to understand a little bit about what it's about, what the connection between the characters is, and what each one is hiding.

Mark plays a family man who is not just a simple agent, but a man full of sadness, pain, and guilt. Despite everything, he feels responsible for doing his job and carrying out the investigation to catch the criminals. What he didn't imagine was that the leader of this criminal gang was not the monster he expected to find.

Y como dicen por allí, el enemigo siempre está más cerca de lo que uno se imagina, esta serie tuvo sus altas y bajas, pero sin duda contó con buenos escenarios, una miniserie de crimen, con hechos criminales, escenas intrigantes, llenas de acción, suspenso y drama.

La historia nos muestra que no todos los criminales son malos, que tiene su lado oculto, tienen familia, y su motor para hacer lo que hace, se basa en ellos, en darles una mejor vida, aun así, en mi opinión, no es justificable, pero cada cabeza es un mundo, y cuando las personas hacen algo, así sea un delito, siempre lo hacen consciente, tienen sus motivos, que según ellos son válidos, y eso los hace ser menos culpables.

And as they say, the enemy is always closer than you think. This series had its ups and downs, but it certainly had good scenarios, a crime miniseries with criminal acts, intriguing scenes, full of action, suspense, and drama.

The story shows us that not all criminals are bad, that they have a hidden side, they have families, and their motivation for doing what they do is based on them, on giving them a better life. Even so, in my opinion, it is not justifiable, but everyone has their own point of view, and when people do something, even if it is a crime, they always do it consciously, they have their reasons, which they believe are valid, and that makes them less guilty.

En Conclusión:

No digo que sea una obra maestra, proveniente de HBO, a veces la pega, y saca buenas series, podría decirse que esta es una de ellas, con un contraste de escenarios, e incluso tema, porque bien vemos que es una serie criminal, pero el desarrollo también abarca la polémica familiar.

Bien, si no la han visto, se las recomiendo, tiene buenas actuaciones, no se van aburrir, acción, drama, suspenso, crimen, que mas quieren.😄

In conclusion:

I'm not saying it's a masterpiece, coming from HBO, sometimes it misses the mark, and sometimes it produces good series. You could say that this is one of them, with contrasting settings and even themes, because we can clearly see that it's a crime series, but the plot also covers family drama.

Well, if you haven't seen it, I recommend it. It has good performances, you won't be bored, action, drama, suspense, crime, what more could you want?😄

[Source](https://screenrant) Task Episode 7 drop like two weekends ago but for me this was such a good series that I didnt want to pass on and the ending did cut a few corners but over all felt very good. The action was there, Grasso got his redemption shot with Jason, Maeve finally gets to leave with the kids and THE MONEY, Tom forgives Ethan but something about it all felt a bit off. Like the show started so damn strong with all these threads connecting between the characters and by the end it felt like we were watching two diferent shows that never realy came together the way they should have. The first half of this episode was packed with enough chaos, watching Perry try to work up the nerve to kill Jason with that fish gutting knife but couldnt do it because he loves him like a son, even tho Jason is the reason they are in this mess to begin with. Vince telling Perry to take care of Jason or else, Mike and Vince planning to frame Grasso as some unstable cop who lost his mind, Arin's body floating up with Perry's wallet chain still in her hand which was so stupid on his part like come on man you been doing this long enough to know better. The whole thing with Grasso visiting his sister and finding out he went dirty just to pay for their moms care and get his sister a safe house away from her ex, that gives you a different perspective of him because you realize this guy wasnt some evil bastard from the start, he was trying to take care of family and got in too deep, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat and all that shit eating him alive from the inside.

Even though this is probably the second most intense episode I think there were certain moments that were handle a bit poorly. Aleah has been set up as this incredible shooter, they call her bullseye throughout the whole show, they even make a point of showing her shooting patch on her vest, and then when it comes time for that big heroic shot to take down Jason who was holding Maeve hostage, they give it to Grasso instead. I get it, Grasso needed his moment to come full circle after being dirty this whole time, but honestly how in hell after loosing that much blood and that white gasper looking he comes crawling his bleeding ass from his jeep all the way to the back seat of Jasons car just to pop him in the head and yeah that was badass and I did not see it coming at all, but its just too hard to believe. Aleah barely got anything meaningful by the end and that sucked because her character had so much potential, she even gets totally man handle by this Tattoed biker that was there just for shocking but did his job, I though she was done during that fight. The whole standoff scene was tense, Tom and Aleah rolling up to Maeves place, finding Grasso bleeding out in his car barely able to roll down the window to warn Maeve that everyone coming for her, Jason taking Maeve hostage after she dug up the money from the chicken feed, Harper being a kid who never stays in the damn car like she was told, all of it worked awesome but again Grasso was almost dead so I would have preferred Aleah be the one taking the shot.
[Source](https://tinyurl.com/5n986wff) [Source](https://tinyurl.com/5n986wff) The Tom family stuff with Ethan and Emily also felt like it took over too much space in these last episode when honestly the most interesting parts of this show were always about Robbie, Perry, Jason and Maeve, this is the part that felt like to two different shows but I get they were trying to keep some mistery and surprise about Tom life choices like getting hammered almost every night. That was the heart of everything and we got pulled away from it to focus on Tom forgiving his son which yeah it was emotional and Mark Ruffalo absolutely killed it with that courtroom speech, talking about how Ethan was a sick child with voices in his head telling him to do things, how the medication helped for a while until the pandemic caused shortages and the voices came back angrier, how Ethan killed Toms wife Susan but there was also so much joy during the good times. Ruffalo delivered that monolog like it was actually happening, telling Ethan he forgives him, he loves him, when the day comes for him to be released Tom will be waiting to welcome him home, that such a great performance but still felt totally disconnected from the main action, but again I get it they wanted something emotional on the show and make Tom look like the hero he was for everyone. [Source](https://tinyurl.com/5n986wff) [Source](https://tinyurl.com/5n986wff) The way they wrapped up the dark hearts stuff also felt kinda rushed and convenient with Vince shooting Mike in the head instead of shooting Grasso first even tho Grasso had a gun in his hand and Mike didnt, like what kind of tactical decision is that when you are there to kill both of them anyway, it just seemed backwards to me and only happened because the plot needed Vince to die so Grasso could have his redemption. Jason stabbing Perry after finding out what he did to Arin, that whole scene by the river with Perry naked trying to wash himself and then getting gutted by the person he was trying to protect, it was tragic and well acted but we never got to hear Perry actually explain himself to Jason, we never got that conversation about why he did what he did or how he was protecting Jason from Vince this whole time, so it felt incomplete like we were missing a piece of the puzzle that would have made Perrys death more satisfying or at least more understandable from a character standpoint. Then Tom letting Maeve keep the money by zipping up that bag and walking away, telling Kath later that wisdom is knowing what to overlook, that was perfect because Maeve and those kids deserved a shot at a new life after everything they went thru, Robbie died trying to get them that money and Tom knew it would be wrong to take that away from them just to close a case that was already a mess. Seeing Maeve pack up the car with Harper and Wyatt, taking a picture of the house as a reminder of her dad and uncle before driving six hours away to start over somewhere new with a million dollars hidden in the trunk, that felt earned and hopeful in a show that spent most of its time being bleak and heavy. Still a very very solid show overall, popularity over RTT jump drastically in the last episodes although those are just numbers, I just wish it kept that same energy from the beginning all the way through instead of getting a little draggy for a few episodes. The performances were incredible across the board, Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelfrey and Fabian Frankel as Grasso all brought some of the most solid performance single episode, the script was sharp and grounded in reality most of the time, the way it handled themes like guilt, forgiveness, family, the traps people get stuck in when they live in places with no opportunities, all of that landed really well and made you think about these characters as real people dealing with impossible choices. I would give it somewhere around an 8 out of 10 because when it was good it was really damn good, those first four episodes with Robbie and the task force investigating Billy's murder and the shootout in the woods, that was some good tv series I watched this year. If they do a season two with Tom and a new task force like they been talking about, I would definitely watch it because this show proved it knows how to build tension and create characters you actually care about, it just needs to stick the landing better next time and not lose sight of what made it special in the first place.

I've finally finished watching this miniseries, and it was everything I hoped for, just as I mentioned in my previous post. I decided to talk about this story in two parts because right from the first episode, I knew it was special and deserved a closer look—not just a quick watch for a review. This is content that’s genuinely worthwhile.

Task una joya que sigue la fórmula de Mare of Easttown

Finalmente he terminado de ver esta miniserie y es todo lo que esperaba, como contaba en mi publicación anterior. Decido hablar de esta historia en dos partes por con solo ver el primer episodio note que era especial y debían ser analizada con mayor detenimiento y disfrutarla, no solo verla para dar una reseña, contenido que vale la pena.

It’s definitely clear this was written by the same writer as Mare of Easttown; it follows the same format. There's a primary resolution to what seemed like the main story in the penultimate episode, where you think you've reached the climax and everything is solved. Episodes 5 and 6 are fantastic; the characters show their complexity, the necessary details of their lives for the story's development are revealed, and everything makes sense.

Definitivamente se ve que es escrita por el mismo escrito de Mare of eastown, tiene el mismo formato, un primer desenlace de parte de lo que parecía ser la historia principal en el penúltimo episodio, donde crees que has llegado la clímax de la historia y todo se soluciono, los episodios 5 y 6 son muy buenos, los personajes demuestran complejos, los detalles de sus vidas necesarios para el desarrollo de la historia de develan, todo cobra sentido.

You get to Episode 7 and you know there are still things left unresolved. You might even feel slightly annoyed at how things were left, wishing for a bit of a happy ending. But this isn't that kind of story; happy endings exist, but they come after great sacrifices and losses. You want the bad guys to pay, and the series handles this theme well, but it makes it clear that those who inflict harm also cause great damage, and the good people suffer for it. Episode 7 provides a good closure, but it doesn't completely eradicate evil, unlike those utopian stories where the good guys make the world a better place. Here, a small part of a huge problem was fixed—but enough for this specific story.

Llegas al episodio 7 y sabes que hay cosas por resolver, quizás algo molesto por como quedaron las cosas y deseabas un poco de final feliz, pero esta no es ese tipo de historia, los finales felices existen pero tras grandes sacrificios y pérdidas. Quieres que los malos paguen, la serie aborda bien este tema, pero deja claro que quien procura el mal, también hace mucho daño y los buenos lo sufren. El episodio 7 da un buen cierre pero no erradica el mal por completo, como esas historias utópicas donde ellos buenos hacen del mundo un lugar mejor, aquí se soluciono una pequeña parte de un gran problema, pero lo suficiente para esta historia.

Don't misunderstand my words; this isn't just a good vs. evil series. The complexity of its characters is the main appeal of the show. Each one has layers to their story that are revealed at the precise moment. I'd venture to say that no character was wasted. The good guys do good things, but they deal with personal problems that affect their decisions and how they approach their duties, giving it that touch of moral dilemma as they try to do what’s right. This stands in contrast to the bad guys, who are driven by greed and simply don't care about what others suffer.

No mal entiendan mis palabras, no es solo una serie de buenos contra malos, acá la complejidad de sus personajes, es el principal atractivo de la serie. Cada uno tiene capas de su historia que de develan en el momento preciso, me atrevo a decir que ninguno fue desperdiciado, los buenos hacen cosas buenas pero lidian con problemas personales que afectan su decisiones y la manera que abordan sus obligaciones, dándole ese toque de dilemas morales para hacer lo justo, en contraste con los malos que los mueve la codicia y les vale nada lo que otros padecen.

Tom Pelphrey’s character development is masterful. At first, he seems like a character you can't empathize with—he’s the bad guy making all the wrong choices. But deep down, he's a good person with a family, pain, longings, and a desire to be better, yet he chose the wrong path. He loves his own, and when he realizes he's gone too far and there’s no turning back, he makes the ultimate sacrifice. What a phenomenal performance of a truly phenomenal, tremendously well-written character.

El desarrollo del personaje de Tom Pelphrey es magistral, al principio parece un personaje con el que no empatizas, es el malo que está tomando decisiones erradas, pero en el fondo es un buen tipo, con familia, con dolor, con añoranzas, con deseos de superación, pero a tomado el camino equivocado. Ama a los suyos y cuando se da cuenta que transita el camino incorrecto y ya no hay vuelta atrás, hace el máximo sacrificio, pedazo de actuación con pedazo de personaje, está tremendamente escrito.

Mark Ruffalo’s performance is just as strong. He plays another man with serious conflicts who seems to have abandoned his beliefs after tragic events in his life. We see him in many reflective moments, discussing good and evil, faith, death, how we treat others, and not seeking an eye for an eye—forgiveness. These are very profound themes that are handled perfectly. His performance makes you realize this is not a show focused on action scenes and police investigation; it’s a series to enjoy the dialogues about all these topics.

Lo de Mark Ruffalo no se queda tras, otros hombre con serios conflictos, que parece haber dejado atrás sus creencias tras trágicos acontecimiento en su vida. Le vemos en muchos momentos reflexivos hablando sobre el bien y el mal, la creencia, la muerte, el trato hacia los demás y no pagar con la misma moneda, el perdón; una serie de temas muy profundos pero que se abordan perfectamente. Con su actuación te das cuenta que esta no es una serie para enfocarse en las escenas de acción y la investigación policial, es una serie para disfrutar los diálogos sobre todos estos temas.

The most incredible thing is that all 7 episodes are enough to completely wrap up the plot. The creator did it again. What a perfectly well-rounded story, in my opinion. Just when I thought this year wouldn’t deliver any more great stories, this one arrived. You absolutely must watch it; you’ll surely enjoy it.

Lo más increíble de todo es que los 7 episodios son suficientes para cerrar la trama, el creador lo volvió hacer, que historia tan redonda y perfecta, a mi juicio. Cuando pensé que este año no iba entregar más buenas historias, llega esta, deben verla definitivamente, seguro la disfrutarán.

Task is probably my second favorite tv series atm now that Peacemaker is over because there is not much too watch like a few months ago and it has been in a parabolic the past three episodes, episode 6 just went absolutely crazy from the first second, we got shootouts, deaths and a whole bunch of messed up situations, the episode starts exactly where we left off last week with Tom and Robbie pointing guns at each other while the Dark Hearts and the task force are watching from diferent spots in the woods, Perry wanted to pull back but Jason being the impulsive idiot he is decides to open fire on Robbie, everything goes to hell real quick after that. The rest of the episode is so intense with people getting shot, run over, ears blown, everything in between makes this episode action packed, we got Kathleen taking a bullet to the shoulder, Robbie getting stabbed by Jason after almost strangling him to death and worst of all Lizzie getting run over by Jason and Perrys truck on that bridge because she could not hear it comming due to the shell shock from earlier when Grasso open fire next to her, watching Lizzie die in Grasso arms was brutal specially knowing he was the one who basically set all this up by being the mole, its like Fabien Frankel does suit the asshole roles just like in HOTD Sr Cristone Cole, seeing Robbie die in Toms arms while thinking about his kids and Billy swimming in the river made me a bit sad because it honestly sux, yeah revenge was not the right choice specially when you have kids that depend on you and Robbie literally went all in but before that made sure that if he went lights out at least Maeve would have enough cash to take care of things at the house until she figure out her own life.

The whole Lizzie situation really pissed me off more than anything else in this episode, she finaly had her moment where she did not freeze up, she actually shot that Dark Hearts guy who was about to kill her, Grasso even told her she did good today which makes her death even more tragic, he got her killed with his bullshit double agent situation and there is no way around that. The way they edited that scene with the sound cutting out to show us what Lizzie was experiencing with her hearing loss was a nice touch, you could feel how vulnerable she was standing there, not knowing a truck was about to hit her at full speed but she didnt care because she was trying to help others no matter the cost, this time she decided not to freeze. Aaliyah and Grasso were trying to warn her but she just could not hear them and boom truck hits her and all kind of supplies from the medic bag fly over the place, gone just like that. I think Grasso had real feelings for Lizzie from that night they ""spend"" together when nothing happen in the bed but still he was not faking any of it, you can see the devastation on his face when shes dying in his arms, he knows hes responsible for this, no ammount of confession or prayer is going to fix what he did to her. The moment where he tells her she did good today right before she runs to the bridge bellisimo, this was supposed to be her big moment proving herself as a field agent, she actually delivered when it mattered most but Grasso lies and betrayal got her killed anyway, very fucked up and tragic as hell. The scene later with Tom confronting Grasso at his house was perfection giving proper follow up not only to his liying ass but the fact he got Lizzie killed, the acting from both Mark Ruffalo and Fabian Frankel was top tier specially how Grasso didnt back down and own it, the writing with that whole confession talk about how its a human practice not for Gods sake was really damn good, I actually never stop to think about it, not really someone who do confessions.

Now Robbie situation, that was heartbreaking to watch even though we all knew he was not making it out alive, Robbie actually saved Toms life during the shootout when a Dark Hearts member was about to kill him, he could have let Tom die right there but instead he shoots the guy and helps Tom up, they both good guys in different sides of the fence, then he leads Tom to Billys old cabin while Perry and Jason are chasing them down through the woods. Tom ends up getting into a fist fight with Perry inside the cabin which was silly at first because Perry seems invincible most of the time, but I guess Tom had enough rage built up that he managed to knock Perry out cold, meanwhile Robbie and Jason are going at it in the woods, Robbie is trying to strangle Jason and you could see it in his eyes that he thought he finally got justice for Billy, I think its fair to say it was sweet revenge moment for Robbie so badly but then Jason stabs him deep in the stomach and would have finished him off completly if Tom had not showed up, not that it help that much though. Robbie bleed out in the back of that cop car while remembering his kids I guess most of us have that last moment of memories about our family, loves one, it was very sad. Tom Pelfreys performance this whole season has been incredible, those eyes when he had Jason by the neck alone told an entire story without him needing to say a single word, pure rage. The reveal at the end that Robbie actually had a plan all along with Shelly was so satisfying to see and they never reveal if they did come to an agreement that day at her house, he sold the real drugs to Freddys supplier and got the money to Maeve through Shelly, which means he threw a bag full of Canada brochures in the river just to trick Jason and the Dark Hearts, seeing Maeve get that money was probably as sweet if Robbie had killed Jason, at least he did right by his family before dying.

The middle part of this episode really dragged though but it cant be all dopamine rush, the episode had to settle down at some poing and unfold the reason for the investigation and how far treason went down, its been the weakest part of the whole episode, all the stuff with Tom bringing Sam home and the scenes with Emily and Sarah just feel like a completely different show but its Tom's side story. I get what they are trying to do here showing Toms family life and how hes trying to be a father again by fostering Sam, but every time we cut to those scenes it feels like a commercial break in the middle of an action movie its not as smooth of a transition even though its directly related to everything going on. The magic show invitation from Emilys coworker was nice I guess, that moment where he ran to the wrong side of the car was pretty funny, Sarah going through her divorce is sad and all but I just want to get back to the main story with Tom hunting down Grasso and Jason. Tom had that funny line about does anyone else want a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich which lightened the mood a bit even though he was mad AF and realize he is just trying to do what is right for Sam even though it might not be the best for himself and daughters, but I would rather spend more time on the investigation, although one thing I want to get over with is Tom's son at prison, get over with it.

The ending of this episode put everything in place perfectly and I am so damn excited to see how this wraps up but there is something telling me like we just got the best episode of the series right here. Tom goes to Kathleen at the hospital and finds out that Grasso had a complaint filed against him back in 2021, some officer thought he was tipping off gangs during raids, every time the strike force showed up to raid a house the drugs were already gone, to make things worst it was the Dark Hearts obviously who they were investigating. Then Tom goes to Grasso house and confronts him with all the evidence, he brings up the different park name that Mave told him about, shows him footage from the park with Cliffs car at the wrong location, Grasso tries to deflect by talking about confession and forgiveness but Tom is not having any of it, for a minute I thought he did but even Grasso recognize how good of an agent is Tom. The writing in that scene was really really good, especially that line from Tom about confession being a human practice to help us deal with shame, not for Gods sake, even Grasso admits youre good Tom because he knows Tom is pulling at him trying to get a confession. Meanwhile there is a fish frying very slowly, Jason and Perry find the bag in the river and open it only to discover its just magazines and brochures about Canada, not the drugs they were expecting, Jason is already stressed about Aryn dissapearing and now he does not have the drugs either, everything is falling apart for him and what he doesnt know yet is that Jason killed his wife Aryn, I mean there is still a lot sawing here. Only real complaint I have is the pacing in the middle slowed down way too much with all the family stuff but the opening shootout was intense as hell and the ending was strong enough that I can forgive it, this was still a solid 8 out of 10 episode for me.

When everything goes terribly wrong, people want to know why God allowed it to happen.

Many will remember the incredible miniseries Mare of Easttown from a few years ago (four to be exact). Wow, how time flies, it seems like yesterday when I watched that miniseries. Well, Brad Ingelsby is the creator of that marvel, although he achieved greater recognition thanks to that production, he has had several successes in his career as a screenwriter. Out of the Furnace and The Way Back are two tremendous films that I really like. By the way, a few days ago, the movie The Last Bus was released, and I saw it. He is the co-writer, and I also recommend it. It's very exciting.

In Task, he uses some of the same ingredients as in Mare of Easttown. This time, he is an FBI agent who is also going through a painful loss and family conflicts. The story takes place in an area of Philadelphia bordering Pennsylvania, where there are some natural parks, which gives it a slightly rural feel, and once again it works perfectly, because this screenwriter and director knows how to handle the dramatic element in his stories.

What a dramatic story. At the time of writing this post, there is only one episode left to finish the story, but I can say with certainty that this is one of the best of the year. It is precisely the drama in the lives of the two main characters that I have loved. The investigative and crime thriller aspects are, of course, equally appealing, but it is the background to it all and the deep immersion into the lives of these two unfortunate souls who carry their own demons that has made me fall in love with the story.

For example, there are two scenes, which are just dialogues between two characters, that have moved me deeply. Both take place inside Tom Brandis's vehicle. One is a conversation with Agent Grasso about how a priest ends up becoming an FBI agent, and the other scene is with Robbie, the antagonist. The second scene is the best and takes place in the fifth episode, which is also a shocking episode because of everything that happens and its intensity.

Bueno, Brad Ingelsby es el creador de esa maravilla, aunque alcanzó un mayor reconocimiento gracias a esa producción, en su carrera como guionista, ha tenido varios éxitos. Out of the Furnace y The Way Back son dos películas tremendas que me gustan mucho. Por cierto, hace unos días se estrenó la película The Last Bus, y la vi. Es el coguionista, y también la recomiendo. Es muy emocionante.

En Task, utiliza algunos de los mismos ingredientes que en Mare of Easttown. En esta ocasión, es un agente del FBI que también está pasando por una dolorosa pérdida y conflictos familiares. La historia se desarrolla en una zona de Filadelfia fronteriza con Pensilvania, donde hay algunos parques naturales, lo que le da un aire un poco rural, y una vez más funciona a la perfección, porque este guionista y director sabe cómo manejar el elemento dramático en sus historias.

Qué historia tan dramática. En el momento de escribir este post, solo queda un episodio para terminar la historia, pero puedo decir con certeza que estamos ante una de las mejores del año. Es precisamente el drama en las vidas de los dos personajes principales lo que me ha encantado. Los aspectos de investigación y thriller policíaco son, por supuesto, igual de atractivos, pero es el trasfondo de todo ello y la profunda inmersión en las vidas de estas dos almas desafortunadas que cargan con sus propios demonios lo que me ha enamorado de la historia.

Por ejemplo, hay dos escenas, que son solo diálogos entre dos personajes, que me han conmovido profundamente. Ambas tienen lugar dentro del vehículo del personaje Tom Brandis. Una es una conversación con el agente Grasso sobre cómo un sacerdote acaba convirtiéndose en agente del FBI, y la otra escena es con Robbie, el antagonista. La segunda escena es la mejor y tiene lugar en el quinto episodio, que también es un episodio impactante por todo lo que sucede y su intensidad.

As in Mare of Easttown, the cast is perfect. Actor Mark Ruffalo (it's a shame he's so progressive in real life) is incredible in the role of Tom Brandis, the FBI agent dealing with a recent family tragedy. He looks scruffy, drinks alcohol, doesn't seem to bathe, and frankly, he's disgusting to watch on screen with his beard and messy hair. He is going through a personal crisis and is assigned the task of forming a special team to catch a group of criminals who are robbing drug houses belonging to a very dangerous biker gang. I'm writing this right now, mark my words: he's going to be nominated for a Golden Globe and an Emmy next year for this role.

The other actor who will also be nominated is Tom Pelphrey. I've loved this actor since he appeared in the second season of Banshee playing a former neo-Nazi who becomes a cop. In Task Force, he is the other protagonist, playing Robbie, the leader of the criminals who are committing the robberies. He is also going through a period of (double) pain. Everything he does with his friends has a greater purpose. The actor's performance is fabulous, and he has many scenes in which he stands out and goes through different registers that fascinate me, and I hope you too.

I want to mention Emilia Jones and her character, Maeve. She also has her moments when her acting talent shines through. She has to carry the weight of the family, take care of the children, work, and, of course, deal with loss. Jamie McShane plays Perry, the leader of the bikers. He is an actor who excels when playing a villain. Some actors are born to play villains, and he is one of them. I love seeing Margarita Levieva. I have followed this actress since the series The Deuce, and here she plays a secondary character who is important to the plot and stars in a painful scene.

I recommend this miniseries with my eyes closed. Next week is the final episode, and it will surely be calm, because the series has been too intense so far, and it's time to close the open wounds of the protagonists, because life is too unfair and pain is part of it. As Robbie's character said, many choose to believe that there is something beyond, because if this life is all there is, it's complete crap.

Al igual que en Mare of Easttown, el reparto es perfecto. El actor Mark Ruffalo (es una lastima que sea tan progresista en la vida real) está increíble en el papel de Tom Brandis, el agente del FBI que se enfrenta a una reciente tragedia familiar. Tiene un aspecto desaliñado, bebe alcohol, no parece bañarse y, francamente, es repugnante verlo en pantalla con su barba y su pelo revuelto. Esta pasando por uno de los momentos personales, y se le asigna la tarea de formar un equipo especial para atrapar a un grupo de delincuentes que están robando casas de drogas pertenecientes a una banda de moteros muy peligrosa. Estoy escribiendo esto ahora mismo, anoten la fehca: él va a ser nominado a un Globo de Oro y a un Emmy el año que viene por este papel.

El otro actor que también será nominado es Tom Pelphrey. Me encanta este actor desde que apareció en la segunda temporada de Banshee interpretando a un ex neonazi que se convierte en policía. En Task , es el otro protagonista, interpretando a Robbie, el líder de los delincuentes que están cometiendo los robos. También está pasando por un periodo de (doble) dolor. La interpretación del actor es fabulosa , y tiene muchas escenas en las que destaca y pasa por diferentes registros que a mi me fascinarony espero que austedes tambien.

I've started watching this new HBO limited series and I'm really excited about it. I'm a huge fan of crime, investigation thrillers combined with suspense, and I think HBO is the platform that has the best ones. They've got True Detective, where each season is basically a limited series—seasons 1 and 4 are my favorites, by the way. Then there's Mare of Easttown, which is arguably their best limited series of this style, and don't even get me started on The Wire, which many consider the greatest show of all time.

He comenzados a ver esta nueva miniserie de HBO muy emocionado, soy muy fan de los thrillers policiales, de investigación combinados con suspenso y creo que HBO es la plataforma que tienen los mejores, cuenta con True Detective, donde cada temporada es una miniserie prácticamente, la 1 y la 4 mis favoritas por cierto, Mare of Easttown la mejor miniserie que tiene de este estilo no si hasta ahora, y ni hablar de The Wire, la que muchos consideran la mejor serie de la historia.

HBO originals are almost always a guarantee of quality content, and I don't think Task will be an exception. Starring Mark Ruffalo, Task tells the story of an FBI agent who lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia with his daughter. Every day, he wakes up to go to a booth and hand out flyers to anyone interested in joining the FBI. He doesn't seem to have a good relationship with his daughter, his son is in jail, and apparently, his wife left him, so he's drowning all that sorrow in alcohol.

The other lead is Tom Pelphrey, who also plays a single father raising two young kids with the help of his niece. He works for the sanitation department alongside his friend, played by Raúl Castillo. This serves as the perfect cover for them to spy on houses where drugs are being sold and then rob them—a kind of modern-day Robin Hood. However, things aren't going well, and these crimes are starting to turn violent.

Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) is assigned, along with a unit of rookies, to investigate these crimes and put an end to this mysterious crew, kicking off what looks like a cat-and-mouse game. Everything I've told you is just the premise of the series; it's all part of the first episode out of the seven it will have. For many, just having Ruffalo as the lead is reason enough to watch it, but honestly, the main reason that drew me in is its format.

Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) es asignado junto a una unidad de novatos a investigar estos crímenes y poner fin a esta misteriosa banda, comenzando lo que aparentemente será un juego del gato y el ratón. Todo esto que les cuento es solo la premisa de la serie, es parte del primero episodio de los 7 con los que contará. Para muchos solo con contar con Ruffalo como protagonistas ya es un motivo suficiente para verla, honestamente para mí la principal razón que me atrajo es su formato.

These stories that depict the reality of American suburbs, the constant struggle to curb a population that feels completely free to do as they please, and the serious drug problems and heinous crimes that plague the nation, have a certain appeal—perhaps because of the gut-punches of reality they offer. They show how the institutions of the so-called "First World" are full of people with plenty of their own problems, but who ultimately put duty and doing their job above everything else.

Estás historias que cuentan la realidad de los suburbios americanos, de la lucha constante por frenar una población que se siente en plena libertad de hacer lo que les place, de los graves problemas de drogas que sufre esa nación y los crímenes atroces, tienen cierto atractivo quizás por los golpes de realidad que ofrecen. Como las instituciones del llamado primer mundo, están llenas de personas con muchos problemas, pero que al final el deber y cumplir con su trabajo está por encima de ellos.

So far, I've only seen the first episode. I liked it, and I'm hooked. It might have the potential to be on par with Mare of Easttown or maybe even surpass it. I'll only know that in a few days. All the episodes are already out, but with shows like this, I take my time watching them. There's no rush with stories worth truly digesting, so I'll be sharing my final verdict soon.

Hasta ahora solo he visto el primer episodio, me ha gustado y me tiene enganchado, puede que tenga el potencial para estar a la altura de Mare of Easttown o quizás superarla, eso solo lo sabré en pocos días, ya todos sus episodios están al aire, pero con series de este tipo me tomo mi tiempo para verlas, nada de apuros con las historias que vale la pena digerir bien, así que pronto les estaré contando mi veredicto final.

Took me a few days to get this post out, its been a bussy week although I manage to stay active on the network posting both long and short content on threads most of the time, so episode 3 of Task just aired past sunda and damn we finally got that infamous scene where they all get suit up with their 9mm and got into this place, this one really cranked up the intensity as I was expecting to happen once Tom start to get closer to Robbie but now there is also the Dark Hearts lead by Perry. The episode opens with this completely new understanding of why Robbie is doing all this crazy shit and its not just about money like I originally thought, this is pure revenge and the worst kind, the type that makes you do stupid things that put everyone you love in danger. We finally learn that Jason, that piece of sht from the Dark Hearts, actually killed Robbies brother Billy and then had the fucking audacity to show up at the funeral to give condolences and shake hands with the family, like what kind of sociopathic behavior is that, seriously its the kind of situation makes you mad just thinking about it.

The conversation between Robbie and Maeve in the car really shows you how different these two characters are when it comes to handling grief and trauma, Maeve is trying to be the voice of reason telling Robbie that his kids are gonna remember him as a murderer and kidnapper if he keeps going down this path, which is probably the smartest thing anyone has said on this show so far, but Robbie is so consumed by this need for revenge that he cant see past his own anger, he keeps talking about taking the Dark Hearts money to build a better life for his family but really its just about getting back at Jason for what he did to Billy, its not only dope money but he is trying to single hand bankrupt a crew that has been running dope spots for years and he thinks him and two friends going to bring them down? thats just plain stupid, thats how you get killed. Tom Pelphrey does such a great job in these scenes, you can see the pain in his eyes when he talks about having to thank Jason for coming to the funeral, knowing damn well that Jason was the one who beat his brother to death, its like swallowing glass every time he remembers that moment.

On episode 3 we finally got some action when the FBI task force is getting closer to figuring out who the Halloween crew really is and the whole thing with Cliff getting his house raided was intense as hell, especially when Tom gets thrown down the stairs just like what happened to his wife, that was some dark irony right there. I remember the moment Peaches came up I thought, he is getting killed and indirectly going to snitch everyone, exactly as it happen because not only he got killed but because he was showing off his girl ring got others at his job to talk too much to the FBI and got a lot of attention, enough for them to start finding out who was he working with. Alison Oliver continues to be great as Elizabeth even though her accent slips up sometimes which is annoying but whatever, her scenes with Anthony at the bar were really sweet and you can tell these two have chemistry even though she keeps freezing up during the action scenes. The whole setup with Rey and Shelly trying to rob Cliffs house while the FBI is also there was chaotic and stupid too, what they were expecting? for Cliff and Robbie not to figure out if the dope gets lost, that was karma right there for been such a rat this episode also shows how everybody is scrambling to get their hands on this fentanyl and nobody really knows what the hell is going on anymore or do with it, certainly not Robbie or Cliff.

What really got my attention this episode was the reveal that Eryn is the informant whos been feeding information to Robbie and Cliff, The moment Robbie and Maeve start talking about why he was doing it and everything what went down I know there hard to be a female involve trying to get revenge too, gnl and tell I knew it was her but suspect might be her from the way she was acting in previous episodes but seeing it confirmed was still satisfying. The fact that she was cheating on Jason with Billy makes the whole revenge plot even more complicated, because now its not just about Robbie wanting to kill Jason, Eryn also has her own reasons for wanting to see him dead. This adds more pouder to the barril and someone going to get killed, its very likely that Eryn gets discovered by the Dark Hearts and use her as bait to get to Robbie if they know its him by then, instead of just having one person seeking revenge we now have multiple characters with their own motivations all working against the Dark Hearts, it makes things feel more intense, there is hate involve and more personal for everyone involved.

The ending with the revelation that someone in the task force is leaking information to the Dark Hearts is something Im not totally buying but lets put on the conspiration hat, I was just starting to like all these characters and now I gotta suspect everyone which sucks but also makes sense from a storytelling perspective. My money is on Lizzie being the mole even though she seems like the most innocent one, sometimes the people you least suspect are the ones betraying you, plus her whole thing about being a honest cop could be a cover for something darker, its just the perfect cover, been bad at the job, showing as the week link, what if they got into the FBI just to show how she can bring down an operation of the top justice agencies in the country. This series is starting to get intense on every side, there was this scene with Maeve teaching Sam how to swim was beautiful and sad at the same time, honestly I thought she was going to drawn him to get over with everything, hell sounds crazy but cmon, but then when she talks about choosing what you take from your parents and what you leave behind it felt like the most mature thing anyone has said on this show, she really is the moral center of this whole mess and probably the only one who might survive with her soul intact. Overall this episode did a fantastic job building more tension, provide tons of context by giving us deeper insight into why these characters are making the choices they are, even if those choices are completely fucked up, I give it a solid 8 out of 10.

No fancy intros, just a series I have been enjoyint to watch mainly because of the different role certain actors playing on this sereis, so here what went down in Task episode 2, "Family Statements," this episodes throws a lot at you without really pretending to be anything it’s not, you know what you are getting from the jump its all mess up with almost no escape for Robbie. The pacing on this show might make some people get bored quick and scroll for their phone so Im not going to try to sugar code it, the show is not complicated at all but has certain darkness in it that keeps me watching, to me the way things burn slow, every scene angled to show something messed up but also familiar, that’s kind of the point. This episode spends more time diving into characters than the usual investigation stuff, more about who these people are when the badge, what’s bugging them at home, what they wish they could forget. The whole thing between Tom the FBI agent and his family just keeps getting stranger, every time you think these people hit the limit they open up another bottle and yell over dinner, and Im back to square one with them and keep asking how they got so fucked up. It’s not just the middle aged dude feeling sorry for himself, but also the two sisters who have contrary opinions either adopted or not, with their brother locked up for killing their MOM but looks like there is even more dirt under the rug, everyone stuck in this weird fog of anger and guilt, it’s honestly more interesting than the investigation at some points. I got this perspective like the show does not care if you get tired of this stuff or not, it just keeps going back and forth, dropping bits about who did what and who is blaming who for the crap that already went down, making everyone feel like they are trapped in the same small, sad world.

I have come to realize I like to understand peoples suffering, probably not because I relate but what happens through their mind, its probably why I also like psychological horror and this this episode keeps finding time for those little moments that are actually more honest than most TV, the kind of stuff that would make other production show how fucked up a family can be on every single way possible, from discrimiation, alcohol, drugs, murder, I honestly thought Emily got raped by her brother from first episode, was my assumption. You think about Emily, Tom’s adopted daughter, trying to figure out if she should speak up for her brother Ethan during his court date, she is torn between hating what he did and remembering all the leftovers from when they were actual siblings, probably the memories of playing around and covering for each other. Her conversation with the therapist was heartbreaking, giving you a clear view of that muddy part between caring about family and being tired of all their mistakes, you see the same mess on her face when the family puts her at the center of everything during that rough dinner. On the other side of the table, literraly there is Sarah, blood daughter, coming home with the kind of attitude that only happens when you leave a broken home just to come back and find it worse. The two of them, Emily and Sarah, finally going at each other about Ethan, the “was she really my mother too”, daaaammnnn meme here, that hit harder than anything else you might watch on action movies, emotional damage. Tom trying to hold all this together with his own mess of God, vodka and regret is just the perfect blend for chaos, his moments of collapse dont even look staged at all.

[Source](https://tinyurl.com/bdx28ynx) Switching to the other side, you got the world of criminals and bikers which would be easy to turn into a SOA thing but this show keeps it pretty low and they are not the cool guys dealing drugs, this are some real mf, SOA was more of a mix of everything and not just the representation of biker boys they using on this series. The motorcycle gang angle is the background for the moment but for sure its not only going to bring heat to Robbie but Tomm too. There are Jay and Perry running the gang show, finding out their stash is missing, putting the heat on everyone around them, it very well develop because it puts less about explosions and more about that slow tension figuring out who this people are, lots of waiting, everybody in the episode trying to work out who to trust and who to dump. The whole thing about Robbie grabbing a kid from a scene thinking no one would miss him, like wtf seriously not only took their dope but also the kid?? so the kid aint that valuable? got to be stupid though, but he now realize that the mess just keeps getting bigger when his niece Mave figures out what’s going on. I like how even the side characters like Alison and Anthony, from worrying about doing their job but not yet realizing they are in something way uglier than they planned, for now its just stuff like fast food, cigarettes, hanging out late night laughing, those two are going to end up fucking at some point.

Every action has a messy consequence and I get why everyone is paranoid, why Tom isn’t really sure why he tries anymore, why Emily won’t let go of Ethan, why Mave doesn’t just call the cops because when the kid told her his dad name I saw the fear in her eyes. It’s kinda like watching people try to swim but are miles from shore, everything takes forever, every move just makes you more stuck and within the big mess that this story is and about to collide all three sides nobody comes out clean, even the smallest decisions end up hurting someone, sometimes the one you care about most. I get that people are going to say this is a “boring” show or whatever, might not have that obvious thrill, but for me it’s about those small dirty pieces stacking up and giving you enough real to make it stick. There is always something brewing in the background, an extra piece of drama coming up but you do not ever know where from or who is going to pile up the next mistake. All this makes for a series that moves slow, sucking you in if you are into slow burners like me.

I can say this is exactly the kind of show that goes under the radar for a lot of people but with a reward towards the climax hit and the ones who are looking for something more than just a shootout or a mystery you can solve this might not be for you. The best thing Task has going for it is how everything matters, the cops and criminals are barely separated, the families are a mess all together, even the biker gang is just another family with currently a very mess up organization, the connections and drama is the meat cooking but not fast, you gotta pay attention, the scenes with Ruffalo at the center reminded me again why I keep watching smaller tv dramas but I have to say the main reason Im watching is because it was about time he did something else than Bruce Banner. A show like this will not spoon feed you action or quick drama, you gotta sit through the arguments, the broken dinners, the bad phone calls, the dumb mistakes but I dig that because in the end every episode stacks up more more and more mistakes making these characters feel like your own embarrassment, like your own secrets, not just another guy in a suit or a biker jacket, almost like you care about each of them with their own traumas, I do sound bias but what can I say slow burner drama / investigation is a theme I like.

After the most crazy week of 2025 for me Im back at watching content, last night premiere Episode 1 of Task (2025) and I gotta say HBO might have something really special here with this new crime drama, the whole thing starts off with this incredible energy that pulls you right into these two completely different characters that are about to collide once they cross paths, there comes the name of the episode "Crossings" at some point its going to happen. Mark Ruffalo plays Tom, an FBI agent who clearly has seen better days and is currently stuck doing recruitment duty at job fairs instead of being out in the field where he belongs, you can tell right away that this guy is carrying some serious baggage and not in a good way, there must be something dragging him badly and has to do with his kids, btw where is his wife??. Tom gets introduce through these small moments that tell you everything you need to know about his current state, he is plunging his face into a sink full of ice every morning which honestly looks like some kind of desperate attempt to shock himself into feeling something again or just because he is hang over from last night, plus he is popping Advil like candy and drinking himself into oblivion every night using what looks like a Phillies cup that has seen some rough nights of rum. There is also the fact he has been a priest? TF!! , eight years before becoming an FBI agent, thats the kind of career change that makes you wonder what the hell happened to make someone go from saving souls to catching criminals and the way they handle this revelation through just casual conversation instead of some big dramatic flashback shows the writers know what they are doing, the episodes really pulls you in and makes you loose the sense of time.

On the complete opposite side of things we meet Robbie, played by Tom Pelffrey who absolutely kills it in this role, he is a garbage collector who lives with his kids and his 21 year old niece Mave in what turns out to be his dead brothers house. Things are very very complicated as hell with Mave basically being forced into this mother figure role she never signed up for while Robbie tries to figure out how to be a single dad and keep his criminal side hustle going at the same time, because this garbage man is actually scouting drug houses while doing his regular routes so he can rob them later with his crew. What makes Robbies character so interesting is that he is not your typical Hollywood criminal, he is trying to provide for his family and seems to have some kind of moral code even though he is literally breaking into peoples houses and stealing their money, then again you wont see a drug dealing presenting charges against him, you can see the internal conflict every time he interacts with his kids especially when he is telling them bedtime stories about their Uncle Billy who we dont know the full story but I bet is something similar to what Robbie has been working on lately. The show does this great job of with building characters and their world around them, with Robbies motivations without ever making excuses for his actions, he needs money for his family and drug dealers seem like fair targets but you know this whole situation is going to go out of control eventually.

[Source](https://tinyurl.com/36cpepca) The actual home invasion sequences are where the show really flexes its muscles in terms of tension and execution, the first robbery goes smooth as butter with the three guys wearing these creepy Halloween masks, they get in and out clean with their money and nobody gets hurt which sets you up to think maybe these guys actually know what they are doing, but then comes the second job and everything goes sideways in the worst possible way, suddenly people are getting shot and killed including Peach Boy who was just talking about getting married to his girlfriend, the whole thing turns into this chaotic bloodbath that leaves multiple bodies and a traumatized child who somehow is now part of Robbie's family, I though they going to kill the kid but instead took him or instead of leave him at the scene but then he saw their faces, this creates this whole situation of moral complexity because now they have basically kidnapped a child even though their intentions seem to be protecting him rather than hurting him right after they killed his parents, its the kind of decision that makes perfect sense in the moment but is obviously going to create massive problems for them latter on.

[Source](https://tinyurl.com/36cpepca) The supporting characters make such a great job over all, Mave is dealing with way more responsibility than any 21 year old should have to handle while also trying to have some kind of normal social life, her confrontation with Robbie about how he has basically taken over her fathers house and left her to raise his kids was brutal, something I like very much, how fucked up Robbie's life is between his criminal routine and family at home. The task force members that get introduced feel a bit underdeveloped for now, compared to everyone else but I'm sure they serve their purpose as the people who are going to be tracking down our main characters so they will get more screen time down the line. There is Elizabeth the state trooper with her own personal drama going on with what sounds like a messy divorce situation, and the other two members Anthony and Aaliyah bring their own quirks to the team even though we do not spend much time with them yet. Martha Plimpton shows up as Toms boss who is being forced into retirement and she has this great energy bossy and funny, the way she handles Tom and gets him back into field work although seems too easy, even with his obvious personal issues shows she understands both his capabilities and his limitations better than he probably understands them himself, there is something holding him back when he says its too soon.

For been the first episode it balance all these different storylines without feeling overstuffed or confusing, you have got Toms family drama with his son in prison and his daughter who clearly has trust issues with him, plus Robbies complicated home life and his criminal activities and somehow it all fits together naturally without feeling forced or artificial. The show takes its time letting you get to know these characters before throwing them into life or death situations, which makes you actually care about what happens to them rather than just watching for the action sequences, another point in favor is the violence shown, when it happens feels realistic and consequential rather than just being there for shock value. I love how the series is not afraid to show these characters making terrible decisions that will obviously come back to haunt them, Robbies choice to take that child creates problems that go way beyond just stupidity and suddenly having another kid in the house, and Toms alcoholism is clearly affecting his relationship with his daughter in ways that might be irreparable if he does not get his sht together. The production value does capture the blue collar Philadelphia setting and makes it feel like a real place where real people live and work, not just being a backdrop for crime drama nonsense, there is also the sound and music choices are spot on especially that scene where Tom gets completely wasted with his priest friend and starts dancing around the kitchen and was one of the weirdest scenes, almost though there was something going on between them and I hope writers dont go that way. Overall I found it more than just good enough to watch and would totally recommend it giving it a 7/10.
