Terminator is a franchise with a lot of potential which unfortunately has not been able to get out of its sickly repetitive cycle because of the scar left by "Terminator Judgment Day" on the fans who do not let the story move forward.

I consider this movie to be an example of that since it has repetitive elements in its plot but these are used to lay a foundation to continue the story in the future which we already know will not be the case.

I remember the first time I saw it, I thought it had incoherent details as if those who wrote the story did not know much about it, after much reflection, I realize that the screenwriters do know very well what they were writing, only that by taking risks and leaving certain elements as dramatic twists, they made mistakes because the intentions are not clear, they are present but very hidden and in this case it is required to be as recognizable as possible for the viewer.

It is clear that the film was massacred by critics and general public because if it had been successful, it would have followed this path which is not the case because what follows is "Terminator Genesis", so as I always do, since this film was so beaten I will try to focus on the positive aspects of the film to discuss with you the reason why I think this was the right way to go.

    John Connor, Source of Image

The casting choice of Christian Bale as John Connor is the most successful of the film, the actor gives him the attitude that the character requires, I really think he is a military strategist, command, I see a born leader with knowledge and loyalty of his troops as they trust him blindly.

Kyle Reese as a character complies as he is a young man with a lot of honor, loyalty, these aspects are the same as Kyle Reese in the first Terminator, I do not like at all who accompanies him and in fact I would eliminate her if I could from the story but the fact that its plot has its very strong details but the basis of the character is present and name them, he is a young man proud to belong to the resistance and admires the great John Connor.

The Resistance group at the beginning did not seem to fit, there is a character that I detested enormously, it is here where I thought that it has many illogical elements that with the plot twist become logical since it leaves John Connor as the Leader that he is and the one who can give Salvation to humanity.

Terminator Salvation is a movie with its action elements that can entertain a general audience, we see old terminator models that in my case I liked to see because of how obsolete they are compared to others making it more believable for me the fact that humans can survive a final judgment carried out by machines, it has a very good score of 7 out of 10 because I see the positive and it is a lot, this was the right way and it was exterminated.

    Marcus Whright, Source of Image

I start the spoilers area to discuss those arguments that I liked and I consider correct because they are in line with the characters.

What I liked the most is to see Skynet talking through Dr. Serena on the screen, not only visually and gesturally but argumentatively because it is this scene that gives meaning to Marcus' character that until now I really thought was over in the story since I see John's whole arc as coherent.

The plot of Marcus is what has more fabric to cut, at first it seemed to me that it did not fit in anything, a character to be and that takes many minutes but when he talks to Skynet, it is at that moment that makes sense his character because he is a Terminator whose purpose is to reveal the location of John and Kyle.

That's why I was naming repetitive plots in a sick cycle at the beginning of this post because that's what happens with Marcus, again an exterminator infiltrating as it happens in the previous movies but it's so much plot obsession with infiltration that it tends to fall into absurdity.

Despite the above I defend it as it is not the real world where a final judgment carried out by machines in my opinion we would not survive it, it is a fictional story where so much coincidence can be acceptable especially if it is being used as a transition point and finally leave that cycle of repeated plots in oblivion that at the time had its success but is already a rehash of what has been seen very well in previous installments.

It was the perfect time for the franchise to move forward and I think that is achieved in the film when the character is only there to save John Connor and leave his heart to him. With this action he delivers as the war with Skynet continues and you have a fully established John Connor to continue the war and win it.

Of course, we have to ignore facts like Skynet can also place a command to Marcus that if he has the opportunity to kill, he does it, this is being very perfectionist on the part of Skynet that will only reveal the location when it is also feasible to have all the opportunity to kill them, it is complicated but as I said before, humans would not stand even close to a war like this in real life so it is valid to accept these plot conveniences to have a story in the beautiful world of science fiction.

    The Resistance, Source of Image

The famous Resistance that we finally meet them after decades fulfills for me, I see real soldiers with humanity.

A detail that I did not accept at the beginning is that they put John as an officer who has superiors, he should be the leader and not the imbecile General Ashdown who does have the position but all this is fixed with the dramatic twist and shows us that in reality people are with John, the other is a paper leader because no one really follows him, the film shows that John is the true leader regardless of his position, with this I totally agree because the hearts of the people know who to follow and the film shows that they follow is the great John Connor.

Kyle is a young man who keeps the attitudes of that Kyle we know in the first Terminator, he is very strategic despite his young age and knows the weak points of the machines, all this I see well, what I can not stand is Star and takes away points to the character having to be accompanied by a dead weight.

I also don't see logic in his plot with the robot that kidnaps them, he should be with people and not alone, so I think it would be more justifiable how the character survives and the robot has no valid reason to leave them alive.

Kyle has many things to criticize but I rescue that he fulfills being a true soldier of the resistance, he really wants to help, to be part of that salvation for humanity and I think he succeeds.

An entertaining movie that tries to make a transition by leaving a solid foundation for the story to move forward and get out of that cycle of exterminators infiltrating without sense, the story is asking for that, to continue with John in the future and see how he manages to win the war but the fan could not grasp this and even less give it a chance.

I liked what I saw and I will always think outside wanted to see what happened, we lost a great actor like Christian Bale and this gives me pain because his performance is spectacular, I see the right leader for a Resistance against the Machines, 7 kids out of 10 for the film Terminator Salvation.

I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess we called her chiquito who is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.

  2. Terminator Salvation (Terminator 4) || The robots have a cold face!@cute-cactus1382d

I remember watching the first Terminator film made in 1984 in the 1990s when I was probably 11-12 years old. In those days, I had not yet heard enough of artificial intelligence. In fact, in the film, instead of saying artificial intelligence, it was called the consciousness developed by the machines among themselves.

In the following years, machines want to put an end to human domination by developing consciousness among themselves (by having artificial intelligence), I still think the film is still scary even with this narrative. When I first watched it, I didn't understand much about the film and I was very confused.

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/5tKiuZvvV1lic7v65rdoGPmoOvf.jpg)

Watching a robot and a man from the future protect/kill a woman named Sarah Connor living in the present world was seen as a simple subject. The robot wants to kill, the man sent by the resistance wants to protect; because Sarah Connor will give birth to the future leader of the resistance.

It had the best scenes among the films that continued as a chase in those days, and I had a great time with endless action and excitement. But until the fact that the person who came from the future and whose task was to protect Sarah Connor would be the father of the person who gave him this task, my head was confused at that moment and almost wiped out all the joy of the film.

Now I'm still thinking, was it necessary to add so much mystery to a film? Wasn't the plan to come from the future, kill someone living in the present world and change the future mysterious enough?

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/mglXOOyXISvuIdLgvhU9oXn1Mi7.jpg)

I'm not as confused as in those days, I already said that I watched it as a child. Also, considering the time that has passed, I know that I have watched the Terminator film many times, but I can't remember the exact number.

Today, there are many researches and films on artificial intelligence. I can accept the films as films and pass them off as films, but I find the cold appearance of artificial intelligence experiments and robots integrated with artificial intelligence as far as they are shown frightening.

It is not known whether the Terminator film will be fully realised in the future, but even if we think positively, we will have to face the fact that people will be replaced by robots.

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/lo70DEjfUOweEosuPPIlcIOhhBm.jpg)

It may be possible to stop humans at some point by intimidating, discouraging or persuading them, but we know that machines will not stop until they do what they say or fulfil the purpose for which they were programmed. I hope the age of machines will never come and AI experiments will not get out of control.

I guess I'm a bit prejudiced and fixed-minded about artificial intelligence. I can't explain the reason for this with Terminator films alone; of course, the videos I've watched with artificial intelligence experiments have an effect.

Anyway, last night I watched the film Terminator Salvation again. We can also call it Terminator 4, maybe it will be more understandable.

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/gOvK315L6ljGmWNXhOIdsndqMhy.jpg)

While watching the film, my concerns about artificial intelligence were both refreshed and increased. The future is coming thanks to the ever-advancing time, and we are now living in the dates of the future films of the 80s and 90s.

When someone is sent to the past to change the future, this story seems to go on and on like a never-ending cycle. If it is possible to change both the past and the future by sending someone back to the past or perhaps to the future after every successful or unsuccessful attempt, there is no end to this!

If I have to make a comparison between the first time I watched Terminator and now, I still find the story of the film scary, but I am not as confused as I was when I first watched it. I can put the story on a level ground and understand the fluidity of it. I guess it must be one of the differences between being a child and growing up!

  4. Terminator Salvation@beejayjung3073d

Terminator Salvation is a 2009 American science fiction war film directed by McG, starring Christian Bale and Sam Worthington, with Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Michael Ironside and Helena Bonham Carter in supporting roles. It is the fourth installment of the Terminator film series. In a departure from the previous installments, which were set between 1984 and 2004 and used time travel as a key plot element, Salvation is a post-apocalyptic film set in the year 2018, fourteen years after the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. It focuses on the war between Skynet's machine network and humanity, as the remnants of the world's military have organized to form the Resistance to fight against Skynet's killing machines. Bale portrays John Connor, Resistance fighter and central character to the franchise, while Worthington portrays cyborg Marcus Wright. Yelchin plays a young Kyle Reese, a character first introduced in The Terminator, and the film depicts the origins of the T-800 (Model 101) Terminator. image
